davey is the guy who’s been a dungeon master since he was 13. he owns all of the d&d books and has subscriptions to d&d beyond and homebrews incredible campaigns for his friends and makes lore for his NPCs and owns at least 30 sets of dice. d&d is his special interest and he loves using his words to create worlds beyond imagination.

jack is the guy who only starts playing d&d because his boyfriend is a dungeon master. he joins a campaign halfway through the semester and he’s way in over his head but after one 3-hour session he’s hooked. he yaps to davey about his character ideas and draws everyone’s characters because he can see them so Vividly in his head. he asks really specific questions about the settings and the maps and he loves all of the lore that davey spins. he doesn’t expect to be a nerd but by god he is and it’s all davey’s fault

what if (and idk much like history wise so idk if this even works but it is A Thought)

(also worth mentioning that I thought of this cause I dreamed about it-)

in 1936 the Jacobs family travels to Poland to be with family. Jack is absolutely devastated that they leave, all but Les, who stays to go to school. He refuses to return any letters from the family and just wants to forget all about them.

But he picks up a newspaper one day and reads about the war, and what’s happening to Jewish people over there, and suddenly he’s sending a letter every day, praying that by some miracle David or *someone* will answer.

He’s in the middle of writing one of these letters when there’s a knock on his door and none other than Les Jacobs stand across from him, looking like a scared cat on the street, and he just falls into Jacks arms and cries because *did you read the news today*

Headline: David Jacobs, co-leader of Newsies strike killed, along with parents and sister

Jack has never felt more torn apart.

Les moves in with him, because what is he supposed to do, leave him to fend for himself?

And Jack finds his way back to old friends who are all mourning the loss of the boy with bright blue eyes and a smart mouth.

Additionally- I want to hear from y’all if I end up writing about this I want to know what I need to do to be respectful and sensitive of this topic and everything and I want to know everything you have to say! If I’m being a dick I’m relying on y’all to call me tf out on it cause I don’t wanna be a dick

Highschool Fic update

No I haven’t started writing, I am currently writing an outline of what i want to happen but here are the ships I have planned. Also unless they are a musical only character I will be using the 1992 versions of the characters so if you haven’t seen that version you should.

Jack and David, but it’s like kinda slow burn

Jack and Kathrine, but by the start of the story they have broken up but stayed friends

Blink and Mush, obviously

Jack and Sarah, they did date prior to the story but non of Sarah’s family or the Newsies knew they were dating or that they knew each other, you’ll see how that works later

Sarah and Kathrine, we love the newsbians

Racetrack and Spot, again using the 92 versions only bc I’m a sucker for a good ‘92sies Sprace story (sorry Spralbert and Ralbert shippers)
