A Lifetime to Remember
Though your heart aches for all those lost in the strife of war and its aftermath, hold onto deeply cherished memories for their salvation and your own essential healing.
On this, Remembrance Day, 2023, let us pause to reflect on moments in history around the globe where so many lives were lost to the ravages of war. Left in it’s destructive path are the survivors of loved ones who so valiantly fought for peace. May our hearts go out to those loved ones who live on….and those who died in horrific moments in history. ‘Lest we forget’, the bravery, the valor the…

"Sometimes," said Julia, "I feel the past and the future pressing so hard on either side that there's no room for the present at all."

Life is just water that trickles away, it will all soon pass, and be forgotten.
So why not live to the fullest, before the last drop falls?
Enjoy the sunshine, hear the birds sing, feel the rustle of the leaves.
Embrace your inner peace, and remove yourself from anything that brings unhappiness.

Not choosing to work for a single day may feel like "I am dead to the world". But to me it sounds like "I am alive to myself".

The curtains close up on me,
Keeping the light out,
Shutting me away from the world outside,
I enclose my heart from getting hurt again,
I need to find my way back again...

I pray that I’ve been good.
Smile upon me and tell me I’ve done well.
So I may rest.

one day I’m actually going to grab everything I went through last year and pour it into a raritwi breakup fic where they don’t get back together and I don’t do my usual thing where I hint there’s hope for them
And I think that will probably be a very emotional and good fic but also it’ll probably be incredibly crushing more than anything Ive ever done so honestly maybe we should all be grateful I haven’t written it yet

And I always told my family I want to live in the buzzing city where night is alive and honking cars are down the road.
They were always curious why as they all wanted to live in suburb or countryside where you get fresh air in the morning and lights are down by the evening.
I only told them it was because of the city lights.
All because I can't tell them that I also wanted to live somewhere quiet and peaceful once I can see myself having my own little loving family.
But for now, I will settle with the outside noise and flickering busy lights at night while I hustle in living independently.
Until I find love, I will allow myself be enveloped with fast-paced busyness.

Gentle Reminder
“Tired child and weary soul, you forget sometimes. That though the responsibilities of life may make you feel as if even just moving is too impossible, then my love, just breathe. If breathing is too difficult, then precious one, just blink. If even blinking is too much work, then little one, just stare. It is enough to just be, sometimes.”

Today I am scared.
I am scared
because the world is becoming something
that looks ugly, brutal, and reckless.
I'm worried for not only
the safety of my friends
but for millions of people
I've never even met
because I know that today
we all share one thing in common
and we are all scared.
Tomorrow I will be angry.
I will be angry
because I will not sit idly by
as politicians cheer and make merry
while they reverse the clock on progress
and strip us of the rights
hard fought for and won
by our forebears
with bricks and tears and blood.
though we are scared
we all share another thing in common
we will not lie down and die,
and we are all angry.

The Paradox of Our Age
We have bigger houses but smaller families;
more conveniences, but less time;
we have more degrees, but less sense;
more knowledge, but less judgement;
more experts, but more problems;
more medicines, but less healthiness.
We have been all the way to the moon and back,
But have trouble crossing the street to meet
the new neighbor.
We built more computers to hold more
Information to produce more copies than ever,
but have less communication.
We have become long on quantity,
But short on quality.
These are times of fast foods
but slow digestion;
tall man but short character;
steep profits but shallow relationships.
It is a time when there is much in the window,
But nothing in the room.
~ His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
