Hi hii
Do you also write angst?
If so...I'm genuinely curious on what's your take if Buggy's partner was severely injured and in the verge of death in his arms.
Don't mind me,,just craving a freshly baked Buggy angst 🤡
-soupsprout
Ahhhh, sorry this took a bit!
I love angst, but I've only ever written relationship-angst. Like poor communication skills or intense self-loathing.
This was a fun one to try! Fun and painful! I kinda hurt now! 🥲 I hope it hits the spot for you, @soupsprout
The ending is ambiguous and there isn't comfort because I like the pain, but I have an idea for an uplifting ending and one for a painful ending. LMK if you're interested in hearing about either 😉
Edit: Sad ending here
WC: ~900 Warnings: NSFW - grievous injury & blood, Buggy x GN!reader, established relationship, angst no comfort
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ✩ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ✩ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ✩ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
This wasn’t supposed to happen. Injuries are inevitable during a fight, and this was a fucking ambush. The crew was bound to collect new wounds and scars when they started at a disadvantage. But when shit hits the fan, they’re relentless. This time, that was a bad fucking trait.
As the din diminished and the ship drifted into eerie post-battle quiet, Buggy found you sitting against a wall. The crewmates you fought alongside were also in various states of reprieve. Leaning on crates, crouching on the ground, some even laying down as they caught their breaths. But none of them were sitting in a growing puddle of blood. None of them looked as ashen as you did. The sticky red hand squeezing your leg told the story.
Ripping his bandana off his head, Buggy sprinted over to you and kneeled on the dirty ground. He peeled your hand back, exposing the gash. This was real bad. The placement was bad. The depth was bad. He could see the surge of blood come and go, following your heartbeats. Biting the hem of his bandana, Buggy tore it into strips and wound them just above the wound. Tight but not too tight - he remembered that much.
You winced as he tied a knot and tried to push his hands away. Adrenaline dulled the pain from the original wound, but all this extra shit was too much.
“Stop,” you whined, smearing blood from your hand to his wrist.
“Hey, hey, I’m sorry. Just a little more, okay?”
“Don’t, Buggy…it hurts enough, just leave it.”
“Fuck, no! Listen, we need to stop the bleeding. I have to…”
Buggy didn’t know how to tell you that he needed to pack the wound and it was not going to be pleasant. It had been years since he had to dress a wound like this. He didn’t have to do this for himself since eating the goddamn Devil Fruit and his crew had a doctor to tend to the others. Right, a doctor!
Dragging the closest crew member over by the collar of their shirt, Buggy started shouting, “YOU! Go get the doctor, get a medic, fuck - just go get someone! Get fucking Mohji!”
The pirate scrambled to their feet and yanked another mate up to join him in a search for help.
“Mohji?” you repeated with a soft laugh.
“He can help. He takes care of Richie, maybe he knows-”
“I’m not a lion, Buggy. It’s not the same.”
Your over-dramatic condescending tone could have fooled the pirate into believing you were okay if your voice didn’t shake. If you weren’t talking more with your eyes shut than open. If you hadn’t lost enough blood that it was seeping into the knees of his pants.
“I dunno, you’re as annoying as Richie.”
You smiled but didn’t respond.
Buggy glanced around the room, which was nearly empty. The only ones left were the ambushers who didn’t survive and anyone who couldn’t run through the ship. No one had come back with any fucking help, though.
“Hey, keep your eyes open,” Buggy said, squeezing your cheeks.
You did what he asked, but it took a few tries. Your eyes fluttered shut more than once before you succeeded in keeping them open.
“M’tired, Buggy,” you said in a low voice. A sad voice. A scared voice.
“You can sleep later. I’ll even let you sleep on my side of the bed, okay? Just stay awake for now. Captain’s orders!”
Another smile, softer than the last one. Even Buggy could hear the desperation cracking in his throat.
“I have to do one more thing to stop the bleeding, alright? It’ll hurt and then you’ll feel better. Take a deep breath for me, okay? You can do that?”
You nodded and inhaled. It was slow and stuttering as you tried to take in as much air as you could. Buggy waited until you were too focused on breathing before jamming a wad of torn fabric into the leaking wound. He winced as you let out a loud groan and your whole body stiffened in pain.
“Sorry, sorry, I’m so sorry. I’m all done. You did so good.”
Buggy rushed to comfort you, pressing kisses to your forehead and wiping away the tears falling from your eyes with the back of his hands. Blood didn’t make him nauseous, but the sight of his palms stained red with yours did. Nauseous and nervous.
Your eyes were closed again. He asked you to open them. He asked again. They cracked open just a little. Enough to make him feel better and feel worse.
“Hey, what do you call a lion at the South Pole?”
“What?” Your head tilted and your brows tightened. You were thinking.
Buggy watched your lips move slowly as you repeated his question.
You opened your eyes a little wider and looked at him with as much confusion as you could muster. You shook your head slightly.
“Oh, you don’t know?” he teased with a big grin. A fake smile to keep you distracted. “Keep thinking about it. If you just can’t figure it out, I’ll tell you when you get better. Alright?”
You mouthed an affirmative response, but didn’t make a sound.
“So it’s a deal? You’ll get better and then I’ll tell you the answer. You gotta get better, though, okay?”
Buggy grabbed your hands, hoping you couldn’t feel how he was shaking. He wished he couldn’t feel how cold you were.
You nodded and closed your eyes to think.

Smallville 4x14
I love this episode a lot🥹
THAT'S ADORABLE😭😭
"You're gonna be fine. I know you're gonna be fine. Everyone I've ever hit was alright."
Lois -everyone I've ever hit was alright- Lane:
Clark really sleeps on the couch now that Lois lives there? LMAOOOO
the way he immediately smiles when he sees the dog I can't🥹🥹
"You hit him? With your car?" "No, with my fist🙄🙄"
CLARK YOUR FACE-
"Actually, I think it might be fun to have a dog around."
HE'S A MENACE, HE'S A DISGRACE, HE'S A FUCKING CLOWN, I LOVE HIMMMMMMMM
I'm crying
"I don't know. It's just kind of hard to be myself with her around."
that's so ironic though because apart from hiding his powers he is VERY himself around her
I need Tom Welling to stop smiling on my screen please and thank you, I'm not strong enough for this😭
ugh😩
Chloe helping Clark with his excuses, love to see it🥹 He's so bad at them he needs all the help he can get💀
Let me introduce you to my parents who have been married for about 30 years now:
"Let's see. He's annoying, and I can't get within ten feet of him without getting sick. I think we should call him Clarkie."
have I mentioned how much I love them before?
"I spent all morning on these."
they're both so cute🥹🥹
LMAOOOOOO he finds her so annoying
hsajaksjaksj LOOK AT HIS HAND IN THE SECOND IMAGE, HE'S SO DONE I'M SCREAMING
No because if I keep going like this I'll screenshot every single time they say something or even look at each other💀
Lois: You could be Skipper😇
Clark: *fake ass smile* anyway-
STAHP I'M SCREAMING
he's about to throw hands💀
This is so confusing, I thought Jason's mom orchestrated the entire meeting with Lana but now she wants him away from her?
"Paranoia is not a very attractive quality in a woman."
Umm okay, AND? I mean I don't give a shit about Genevieve but this is such a dumb statement, as if she's supposed to give a fuck about what's "attractive" to Lex or others, like what?
Sometimes he sounds like one of those "pick up artists" that the internet makes fun of all the time, I'm sorry💀💀
I. LOVE. THIS.
That's the way someone talks to their own kid, not their guest and I love that because Lois clearly lacks parental love. Martha & Lois will always be so special to me😭😭
"Remember when Clark did that? He was only... three." LMAOOOO
Lex is clearly losing patience with Clark😬
Can I join this family pls look at themmmm
Martha is such a badass actually
I'm glad Lana overheard that whole conversation between Jason and his mother, now I'm just hoping they'll give her more agency instead of making her a passive character and her own storyline.
(edit: so she did NOT hear what they were talking about🤡🤡 At least she saw it)
Clark is such a little shit😭
Still arguing about dog names🤡
"Hold on there Forrest Gump, what are you gonna do, run?" LOL
She's like nuh uh, get in the car dude AND HE LISTENS💀💀💀
How are they acting like they're been married for decades???
NOT AN ACTUAL QUESTION BC I KNOW HOW AND I'LL TELL YOU: they're comfortable around each other even if they don't realize it
🎶and I will go down with this ship🎶 (EXCEPT I DON'T EVEN HAVE TO BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING SAILING, IT WILL NEVER GO DOWNNNNN)
let's move on
"What is this, another one of your famous hunches or are we just on a little scenic route?"
"Okay, stop here."
"Wha- where??"
"HERE. Stop here."
"OKAY."
>>>MARRIED.
they sound like my grandparents💀
LOOK AT MY LIL POOKIES INVESTIGATING STUFF TOGETHER🥺
YEEEEET
I need to know where Clark gets his clothes bc that stuff withstands literally anything💀
AKJASJKAKSL STAHP😭
"He (the dog) saved my life. I'll take my chances on his loyalty." Ooof, is he calling out Lex👀
what is Lionel trying to do?🧐
CUTE.
CUTE.
Clark is happy = I'm happy, it's really that simple
this episode is premium, top tier chef's kiss EXCELLENT

OC asks: Lee or Arith, you pick
🤡🐒🎶
💝🧑🍼🎲
Aw, I have to choose between them? Hmm ok. I'll go with Lee since she needs more development.
EDIT: Now I am including Arith!
🤡 - What’s something dumb they’re embarrassed about?
Lee: Well, when she was alive and younger, she would especially be embarrassed about having to wear bulky winter coats.
Arith: When the sound on his phone is turned on without him knowing so then it ends up playing a random video or ad and everyone hears.
🐒 - What’s their favorite animal?
Lee: Sharks!
Arith: Cats actually.
🎶 - What’s a song they really like?
Lee: Dangerous by Big Data and Joywave
Arith: Be Bold Like Elijah by IRONTOM
💝 - What gestures do they really appreciate? How do you get on their good side?
Lee: She doesn't like to be excluded from things or talked down to. Honestly, if you show her respect and genuinely listen to her, she'll appreciate it. It also helps if you like her special interests.
Arith: He likes it when people are kind to him, vs being nice, there's a difference. And he appreciates it when people don't just go along with everything he says like they do think for themselves and would rather have a discussion instead of shutting the opportunity down. If that makes sense. He appreciates people being original rather than conforming and then recognizing he also is original.
I know I went on a big tangent with that sorry.
🧑🍼 - How do they feel about kids?
Lee: Had she lived and grown up, she probably would've liked the idea of having kids, or at least one.
Arith: He's not bad with kids, especially when they're a little older. Sometimes he doesn't understand why kids even want to be around him but doesn't feel the need to shoo them away or anything, he's just a little confused.
But soon after Kaia is born, he falls into the parental role surprisingly easily. He wasn't prepared for how much love he'd have for her, it was almost overwhelming. He's also fiercely protective over her, which makes sense. He doesn't want anything bad to happen to her, or to his family.
🎲 - Pick a random question to answer from this list.
🎨 - What’s their favorite color?
Lee: Greens and generally warm tones.
Arith: Blues and black.

Just posted the same sentiment on throwaway's blog post. She constantly does these dictation posts, she did it by making that little helluva tribute post after her beelzebub design rants.
The episode titles leave very little to the imagination because helluva is so predictable
206- probably Fizz and Blitz's backstory (which if my assumptions are correct and its about Blitz doing an accident so bad it disabled Fizz to the extent he is now I'm going to be beyond PISSED because the episode title is "oops 🤡") BUT thats my assumptions lets see the episode
207- filler
208- probably some stolitz episode again (from the damn full moon thing they got going on on the Instagrams)
209- stolitz pity party ep or another blitz apology arc episode idk lol
210- that leaked ghost episode where Millie wants to off herself because of her insecurities in being a good wife, the gang (blitz mostly) antagonized by the ghost
211- no idea lol
212- some Christmas episode I think because the word play.
Just my assumptions, but lets see what is in store I'll play a bingo if I get any right.
EDIT: 206 is the "oops 🤡" episode where Millie does that sorry and the other leak is where Octavia confronts stolas is episode 12 sinsmas
Okay what the fuck was even the point of just giving out names for the newest episodes? This is literally a manipulation tactic because she got called out for her BS claims.
"For some positivity", no you just want to distract your audience from your shortcomings. There's literally no point in just sharing the names of the new Helluva Episodes when we're going to see them anyway.
Plus there are literally leaks in Helluva that most are most likely from 210..so yeah she fucked herself with that one.

Getting to know your BL mutuals - 2022 Edition
Simple, answer the questions. @ some people. Include the tag 'g2ky BL mutuals 2022' on your post so we can find everyone's answers!
Thank you to the lovely @sunflower-lychee for tagging me! I never get @ in these so I’m very happy 🥰
(Truthfully this year I have been kinda slow with watching new shows BUT I will do my best!)
What has been the BL that took you by surprise this year?
Love In The Air!
I remember watching the pilot trailer when it aired but truthfully I forgot about this show until everyone started talking about it again 😅 Anyways... I fell in love so fast it’s not even funny. My mental health has been meh at best the past few months and I needed a show like LITA to just watch without having to really think :) Also the cast? Like?! In love with all four of them (especially Noeul).
The Eclipse!
I watched ep 1 when it first came out but never continued the show because I wasn’t feeling it (little did I know 🤡). Everyone was hyping this show up so I made myself sit down and watch it... ended up binging all 6 (aired) episodes and safe to say I was hooked... I mean if anyone on here saw my blog you were probably fed up of me talking about this show (very sorry). So yeah... It’s now one of my favourite BLs. We won’t talk about the cast because I will never stop, lets just say I am now a Neo and khaotung fanpage!
This technically doesn’t count but I finally watched Bad Buddy this year and I’m mad at myself for waiting so long.
What has been the BL that you felt a bit disappointed with this year?
Cutie Pie- I didn’t dislike it but I found myself getting bored and skipping a lot, especially towards the end... shout out to Perth in that black shirt tho😏 Also loved the side couples
Even Sun- Listen I will do anything for BounPrem but lord I was struggling with this one. Why was the intro so long?! also who wrote the script because ooft. Skipped everything apart from the BounPrem scenes.
What has been your favourite BL this year?
KinnPorsche- Lets all act surprised! This show was my entire personality all summer and the reason I came back to tumblr lol. Met so many lovely and amazing people because of this show and it will always have a special place in my heart. It also gave us the masterpiece that is Why Don’t You Stay aka my most played song of 2022. Again the cast is everything to me!
Semantic Error- No explanation needed for this one really. I swear Seoham has been in the military for years! Why is it going so slowly?!
Between Us- Are we only 4 episodes in? Yes. Do I care? NOPE! After waiting almost 3 years they could just stand in that locker room arguing for 12 episodes and I would still watch every second! As much as i tried not to, I did and still do have high expectations for this show BUT so far everything is perfect- I don’t really care about Team’s friends as characters or the relationship between Bee and Prince? but I also don’t hate it.
Favourite BL couples (not just of 2022)?
This is so hard to narrow down 😭 (I will refrain from going into detail otherwise we will be here all day)
WinTeam (I mean ^)
RamKing (My Engineer)
Sangwoo and Jaeyoung (Semantic Error)
PatPran (Bad Buddy)
VegasPete (KinnPorsche)
RainPayu and SkyPrapai (Payu and Pai are THE perfect boyfriends)
AkkAyan (I truly can’t tell if it’s because I love the characters or if I am just down so bad for First and Khao 🥲)
There’s definitely more couples who should be on this list but my brain isn’t working rn
If you had to suggest a BL for someone what would it be?
Not Me- Everyone needs to watch it at least once in their live
Young Royals- It was actually my friend who doesn’t watch BLs that recommended it to me
We Best Love- Maybe It’s just me but I adore that show
Also Where Your Eyes Linger so there is someone else who can suffer with me about how short it was!
What's your non-BL favourite for this year?
This spot is strictly for Alice In Borderland 2 (when it airs)
BUT
Until then... Business Proposal and Bridgerton.
This was so much harder than i thought it would be omg... anyways my aks are always open and I love talking about anything with anyone so feel free to say hi :)
Tagging: @ahdriking @kurtstiel and @aleng-neng (and anyone else who wants to join in)
(If any of you already did this and I missed it, I am sorry 😅)

Edit: Slightly extended versions of these universes are now on ao3 if anyone is interested!
Would anyone like wilmon au fic prompts because I am posting them either way:
Inspired by the lyric “I know you’re performing (but it’s working for me)” from Bad Idea by Dove Cameron
Simon is an international pop singer who may or may not have at least one song about his stance on the monarchy. Wille is still the prince of Sweden and also a “secret” Simon stan (Erik and Felice know. They’re v amused.)
Simon’s international tour is playing the final show in Stockholm so he can wrap it up at home, and for the whole of the tour he’s been choosing a random fan from the crowd to pull on stage and act like he’s singing his love song Call Me By Your Name dedicated to them.
When he spots the literal Prince Wilhelm in the crowd at his final show, he absolutely has to be a chaos demon and choose Wilhelm for this particular performance, just to make the “straight” monarch uncomfortable.
Things may get… a little more real than he thought or intended…
Inspired by the lyric “you’re pretty, but I’m cuter (and smarter)” from Goodbye Forever by Us the Duo
Simon is an art thief who’s actually hit the palace more than once and gotten away successfully, but this time he runs into Prince Wilhelm. Who is very good looking. And seems to think the same of him.
Simon’s not about to miss out on a score because of one (1) beautiful man, but there can’t be any harm in flirting with him. (Just to get away of course…)
(Simon does in fact get away with both the art and the prince’s number)
((Bonus - Wille introducing Simon to his family later: “this is my boyfriend Simon we met in a very normal and legal way, …at an art museum,,,”))
If anyone writes either of these I’ll love you forever pls tag me so I definitely see it 🥺 (same username on ao3)
PS: I didn’t actually look up the lyrics to these songs so if one or both are not the actual lyrics… my bad
Also sorry for the formatting I’m on mobile and also got on the wrong train while writing this post 🤡
#wilmon#young royals#wilmon prompts#I’m gonna try to organize all of the prompts I throw into the abyss under that tag lmao#the frizz does something original

me, (finally) answering operanon's asks:
🎼: Dear Archer,
For the record, atm I’m replying to your answer to my long ask (0/12/‘21, 01:27 UTC+2). As a matter of fact, our discussions have become so intricate that I’m forced to write this out on a notepad beforehand. 😅 (Not that I mind, I love writing by hand -> it kind of works as meditation for me.)
🏹: i also absolutely love writing by hand, and i have lots of lovely copybooks just waiting to be filled in with my little thoughts, so i totally get you!!
🎼: Anygays, I managed to finish most of the PeteKao clips (just not Our Skyy, I hope I didn’t miss too much).
And I think I can now articulate what bothers me so much about PeteKao in Dark Blue Kiss specifically. First of all, there’s Non and the toxic storyline attached to him, which I didn’t appreciate at all! Sorry, fight me all you want, but I cannot for the life of me understand the necessity of that storyline to illustrate the cracks in Pete and Kao’s relationship. I get that Pete and Kao are out of their “honeymoon phase” in DBK, but I think there would’ve been countless other opportunities to demonstrate this (there’s the advice Pete’s dad gave them -> I will get to that in a bit, there’s their friends, there’s a whole environment of school -> it’s not quite as severe as F4 nor is it as hostile as Bad Buddy but still if Mint is anything to go by 😶, and of course there is Kao’s mother).
As I mentioned, I only watched Kiss Me Again after DBK. But I knew PeteKao from the edits (YouTube edits my beloved 💕), and from those I gathered this couple had already been through A LOT. So downgrading their struggles to lack of trust and petty jealousy, to me seems like an annulment of the progress they had already made as a couple. (Kao fearing his mother’s judgment of their relationship would’ve made more sense if it was previously mentioned in KMA. But there, it was mainly Pete who was hesitant about going public.) Meanwhile, I didn’t see as much of Kao struggling to open up to his family (a topic that actually would have resonated with a lot of viewers). I’m know that was hard for Kao (and for countless “Kao’s” with him, like myself). But it isn’t impossible: PeteKao had to fight their own battles (either for the relationship itself or for defending it from the outside world), but they didn’t live in a Bad Buddy like universe in which even interacting with each other was forbidden.
So in conclusion:
#1. It’s not that I think PeteKao is a whiny couple. Just that the scenes written for them generated a lot of (unneeded) tension, which in turn led to a lot of bickering/ whining. Ultimately leading the plot away from the real pressure point, which Pete’s dad already embarked on in pt. 3 of the PeteKao cut of KMA. I paraphrase: “I fully accept what you mean to each other 🖤, but many people may not understand your relationship, and you might find yourself topic of gossip. I wouldn’t want you to be put in the hot seat, so I ask you to keep your relationship quiet at this beginning stage.”
Whether you agree with the man is an entirely different story. But I think the PeteKao story would’ve been a 1,000 times better if the writers had focused the “gossip” entirely on the relationship itself. Not on something that essentially happened outside of the relationship. Especially if that involves a subject so serious as SA.
edit: I am dumb of ass bc I just figured out that KMA is a prequel to Kiss the Series! 🤡 But what I have seen from that is that Kao is indeed a bit anxious about keeping them on de downlow, but at the very least all of their friends know already! So I really don’t understand why they make such a big deal of being open about their relationship in DBK?! Unrelated: is it just me or does Pete look older here than in DBK? 🤣
That all being said, let’s introduce my second controversial opinion. 😈
#2. I think MorkSun should have been the central couple. Again: it’s not that I dislike PeteKao as a couple. But by the end of Our Skyy (which I briefly looked up just now), their biggest problem is a slight uncertainty about their relationship. (More like beginner’s shivers or something: the nerves you feel when you’ve just started something you’ve never done before.) Put on top of that Kao’s family being in the dark (blue) about their relationship. That’s tough, might be dramatic, but unless Kao’s mum is related to Mrs. Parakul, it’s not the end of the world.
With MorkSun however, I can already name 5 tropes that are bound to cause conflict: a.) they start of as enemies; b.) Sun becomes Mork’s boss; c.) Mork’s unhealthy coping mechanisms and Sun trying to help; d.) the classic “never date your friend’s sibling” and most of all e.) the obvious age gap between Sun and Mork. (I believe it’s never explicitly stated how big the age gap is precisely but I’d say it’s at least 5 years, which at 17[?] is a lot!) Put all of those things together and you have A LOT to overcome. (12 episodes might not have been enough!) By handing MorkSun the subplot, the writers glossed over those (imho) pretty significant hurdles. Which individually should at least take 1 episode each to overcome successfully. Because MorkSun got the short end of the stick, the impression may have been given that all those initial adversities weren’t that big of an issue in the first place. And that’s unjust, because they were, and deserved to be treated as such. (And if the showrunner didn’t feel like investing in the couple, they could simply have given Sun a cheesy “loyal customer” LI and shipped Mork with Rain 🤷♀️ [which would have been a valid solution]…they didn’t so it would’ve made sense if they had put their big brains together to really develop this storyline but alas. 🙄)
Side-note: I am personally team “love can overcome almost anything”. Throughout my 20+ years of life, I’ve seen a number of unlikely couples, who made it work in the end. Notwithstanding the hurdles along the way. But that only works when you address those hurdles. I think DBK should could have done that better.
Well, that’s all I’ve got to say about that topic. Glad to (hopefully) have cleared that up! Now I’m off watching A Tale of a 1,000 Stars yet again to cure my depression. 🥲 I’ll check in with you later about everything else. 😉
🏹: thank you so much for sharing everything you feel about this series! this was a very interesting read for someone who is a huge fan of it and loved almost everything about it. i don't want to sit here and pick apart every single little thing you've said that i disagree with, because i think we just have two widely different opinions on it, and that's awesome tbh! like, good for us!
🎼: Side-note: One thing that really makes my blood boil is the use of borderline transgressive behaviour as a device to create “turmoil” in a plot. I have seen it in TV-series, movies and even a novel nominated for a Booker Prize! 😧 Apart from the fact that it’s unnecessary 9/10 times, it’s also unethical and blatantly disrespectful to survivors.
🏹: as a survivor, i didn't particularly appreciate that writing decision either.
🎼: Side-note: another controversial opinion, but I think the premise of Our Skyy is slightly chaotic 😬…especially the part where there’s literally a “Mork and a “Sun” in different couples a show that’s partly set in the PeteKao universe! 🤪
🏹: the premise is definitely a bit unhinged, but that's exactly why i am in love with it!! i also don't think it's weird that we have a mork and a sun in ourskyy - they are just nicknames given to many different people and characters (drake's first big role was as mork, for example), and since it can't really create confusion, i think that's totally alright and not weird at all.
🎼: Side-note: I’m a bit old-fashioned in this respect, but I think the goal of any tv series aimed at teens should always partly be to relate to what their audience is going through -> or at least acknowledge the opportunity there.
🏹: a fair opinion to have as well!
🎼: Side-note: Pete’s dad really belongs in the top-10 of best parent redemptions -> put that in your pipe and smoke it, PatPa’s dad! 😤
🏹: i think he is genuinely my favorite fictional dad of all time!!
🎼: P.S. It’s suddenly almost 3am here… Why am I still awake? 😳
🏹: i hope u went to sleep soon after sending that!!
🎼: It’s operanon ft. their 🗒 again! This time, I’ll reply to your other answers.
All right, it’s clear you don’t need my advice on anything. You know your stuff pretty well all by yourself. And I respect that. So from now on, I will leave the patronising tendencies at the door.
🏹: OK THEN JKGJFKGJKLDFJGKJGKFDJG
🎼: With regard to the previous PeteKao ask, however, I have one recommendation. I found this series while I couldn’t sleep last night. (Oops, my dumb ass gave away my time zone! 🤦♀️) When I said the (sub-)plot for PeteKao’s relationship troubles could’ve been written differently, I meant something like this. (I checked your rec list twice and My Tee/ Cause You’re My Boy wasn’t listed there… 🤓) Darn, at times I thought Tee’s mum was even meaner than Mrs. Parakul and that says a lot. (It could also have been the slightly melodramatic acting skills of the actress btw. 🤫)
🏹: you just keep coming in with controversial opinions unintentionally, huh? /lh only the biggest drake and/or frank stans were capable of watching that series, and as much as i love their chemistry and drake in particular, i'm just... no.
🎼: Moving on. If I may speak for myself, I can handle quite a lot of implied violence (hence the Law & Order addiction), but I back out when things get too graphic. I have strong senses, especially my vision is well developed. (i.e.: When someone tells me about something, I always create a mental image, mostly involuntary. 😖) So when violence or tension is too in my face, I simply cannot cope. Same goes for aggression/ yelling people. Whether it’s my sensitive soul, my past being bullied or my mummy issues, idk. It’s just how it is, I guess.
🏹: and you are absolutely valid!!
🎼: I still hope reliable anon will praise me for my puns. 🥺 And @ unreliable anon, idk which anons are invited to sit at the round table. But could I invite myself? ^^ (Fun fact: did you know that records differ on how many seats actually were at Arthur’s table? Some speak of 225 knights, some even go as far as 1,300 places! The “official table”, the Winchester round table, lists 24 seats however. That should be enough for our limited company. 😉) I’m very curious as to what unreliable anon’s seating chart will look like. ⚔️
🏹: that is very interesting indeed!! and every named anon is invited to the roundtable, so you as well, of course.
🎼: Let me finish by saying that you and your pretty eyes still deserve the world! 💗💜💙🏳️⚧️💙💜💗
🏹: thank you so much!! 🥺
🎼: Hopefully I redeemed myself, and all possible tension will be out of the way. I am just here to have a good time. ):)
🏹: there is no need to redeem yourself, i hope i am very clear with my light-hearted tone indicators - everything i say is not serious, and no one is actually mad at you for your opinions, don't worry!

call me a clown🤡 but i really believe there's gonna be a 2nd season
Okay, here I really have to apologize millions of fold for the late reply. Late is actually not even a term for it, because I got these asks shortly after the release of episode 9. 😬
To be honest, the reason I’m only answering now is because I have the bad property of shift things I don’t know how to deal with. 😅
It may sound a little drastic now, but I didn’t know how to respond. I hope you two anons aren’t mad at me.
Because I don’t want to make any hopes that don’t come true in the end, nor do I hate criticizing people. xD
But I must honestly say that I think the probability of another part of Duskwood is very high.
Because honestly, I don’t know how Everbyte wants to squeeze all this into one episode.
I have no idea what the planned story is, how it should go and how long the story will last. I don’t know who the MWAF and I don’t know how to explain all this.
I have to be honest, if the episode doesn’t get incredibly long, then I feel the end is too fast and choppy. As I said, I don’t know the plan of Everbyte, maybe in the end everything fits and in the episode everything is explained. Nevertheless, I cannot imagine that it will be enough to remove everything that is still open...
There are still so many things missing, and I have no idea how to explain all this logically in short time.☹️
Hannah is still missing, and we have no idea where she is, so many questions that just don’t make any sense at all. And if the EP isn’t really incredibly long, I don’t think that everything is explained in the end...
I am really afraid that the end is much too fast and that things will only be answered on the fast to just end the game. Actually, I don’t think Everbyte would do that, but I don’t really know what it looks like. There are many factors that can play into it, but I hope it won’t.
Duskwood has become an incredibly successful game and it would be such a pity if it actually ended already. I think you can make a lot more things out of the story, but like I said, I don’t know what Everbyte’s plan is. All I can say is that I’m willing to do anything for Duskwood Part 2.
So the main point why I think we’re getting a second part is simply because the story still has so many vacancies. There are too many things missing, and that worries me.
Plus, I suppose it’s a very good business. I don’t know if it’s really worth it for Everbyte, but I really hope it is. I would definitely pay again for Duskwood 2. 😅
The subject is very critical now, and I repeat, it’s just my thoughts! Mine! And this can be completely wrong, because I’m not that familiar with the subject. I can imagine that it might also have something to do with the fact that there were problems with hacks of the game, with cheats and APKs. I don’t know enough about it but maybe the next game has to be programmed differently so that it’s not so easy anymore. This is just a random thought of mine, please do not commit to it!
So just a quick summary: I can only speak superficially, because I don’t know what it looks like behind the game, how the story will go and what it looks like with Everbyte. On the current point, however, I think a second part is possible, and I very much hope that it will happen. I’m not ready for an end.
I hope I was able to answer your question.😅
And yes, once again I repeat: These are just my thoughts, I have no evidence or know anything other than you. Please don’t rely on my opinion that there will really be another part.❤️
Please don’t get your hopes up too much, especially not because of my answer.
Is it ridiculous that I am so careful with this topic? I don’t know. xD
I hope you all will have a beautiful day/evening/night! Take care of yourself and stay healthy! Lots of love and hugs to you.💚🎭🌹
Edit: Sorry for the mess in that answer. 😅

🤡 and 🍆 and 👀 and 🧠 please!
Or pick your favourites, sorry went a bit bananas there
🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh? Oh so many. Let me get you a one from Root Beer Floats and Green Tea. (I edited this because the second one made this post massive and I felt bad)
----this one is kind of early on----
Maybe he could kiss him.
That'd be obvious.
Guys didn't platonically kiss each other too often.
Not after dinner and the movies for sure.
He could lean over, try to be smooth, act like he was going to open the door for him without leaving the car which always felt a little rude but go in for a kiss instead, or help with the seatbelt and kiss him, or he could- damn where'd he go? Daniel had been so busy trying to think of his move and Johnny had slipped out of the car and was already walking up to the mansion.
🍆 Do you write the spicy stuffs? If so, what's your most popular nsfw fic? Uhhhh yes and no? I haven't posted any...well I shouldn't say any. Root Beer Floats and Green Tea gets "spicy" but you've got to march through the slowest slow burn of two dorks in love but thinking it's one sided to get your reward. And...the last chapter that I'm editing I kind of gave up on trying to figure out where the line was between M and E rating. So when those chapters drop they might continue that previous trend of just slowly upping the spice. I also looked at what people were saying they hadn't read enough of and stuck some extra surprise treats in there. Though I don't think the people who specifically mentioned wanting to read specific things read Root Beer Floats and Green Tea. So it's a gift for an audience that may never read it. But it was like a good exercise? And kind of fun to test out. I kind of feel like I've been excitedly and secretly planning a party and just rarely get the nerve to invite people to it because you’ve got to climb a mountain to get to it. 🤣 At the very least “spice” slows me down as I try and figure out logistics. 😅 So we can blame that for why the final chapter(s) are taking so long. I mean it's not 160K of spice so let's not get anyone's hopes up there, but there's more than usual. 👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
I'm doing AU's of Root Beer Floats and Green Tea once it's done. After I finish editing. (Wish me luck on that) So either we're getting Johnny/Dutch or Johnny/ Chozen next. The original-ish plan was for it to be like a dating game? So like you finish Root Beer Floats and Green Tea and then if you want to explore other routes you follow Johnny on an adventure with a different cobra or Chozen. But I wasn't expecting Root Beer Floats and Green Tea to take over a year to write let alone for it to be longer than War and Peace. Or for life to like suck. So I'm just doing 2. The Chozen one is probably next. So essentially the first chapter and a half is assumed for that one and when Daniel tells Johnny to go away after apologizing this time he actually does? And he goes to Okinawa because of the bonsai Mr. Miyagi gives him but his luck sucks and he gets into a pretty bad fight, ends up with amnesia with a note that has his name on it, Mr. Miyagi's name on it and a bonsai in Okinawa and that's it. There's a lot to the Okinawan group that I like exploring and this was an idea to explore all of it earlier than TKK2. For Dutch that one is a fake dating one set pre TKK so essentially a route and is essentially his parents telling him he needs to bring home a date and think about getting married and Dutch being like ???? gets the great dumb idea that his parents only like Johnny so he'll show them what a terrible plan that is if he picks Johnny and then just silly fun in that ridiculous mansion and more Mr. and Mrs. P and fancy portraits and gardens and lonely boys getting to be together. And hopefully more cobra shenanigans but idk. 🧠 Pick a character, and I'll tell you my favorite headcanon for them.
I haven't really written Danzen but all the excitement over the season 5 release and Chozen that I've seen has made me think more about it. Like I've got a lot of headcannons about the Okinawan crew which I plan to explore in that previously mentioned fic. But that fic isn't Danzen. I like to think that Kumiko and Chozen kept in touch and they talk about Daniel sometimes and so he knows about their relationship. And one of the things is probably he doesn't understand them (Kumiko and Daniel). Why didn't Daniel just stay? Like why didn't she go with him? And I think he looks at the adults in his life in the same way. Because Yukie also didn't go with Mr. Miyagi and Mr. Miyagi didn't stay. Which that parallel is probably on purpose but at least Mr. Miyagi and Yukie kept in touch writing each other romantic letters.
Anyway so I like to think he knows about the tea ceremony being romantic and maybe that's not his jam so he improvises and that's why he jumps up to get Daniel alcohol at the bar and then just quietly stares at him. I think it's why he just quietly stares. Because the people who were romantically involved in his life that's what they did. So he's repeating the pattern but with his own twist. And then here's my other one that's related.
Daniel invited the wrong person to America. I adore Kumiko but she had dreams she wanted to live out and an aunt she was close to and a village she loved and friends in Naha. But Chozen? Especially older Chozen? He's got students I guess? What age? No clue. No, wait this is my head cannon. Dude teaches little kids. He stopped teaching military after Daniel left and instead works on like keeping the secrets of Miyagi style karate Okinawan. I think that softened him up a bit. Grumpy Chozen having to play a clown because he's teaching kids, little little kids that cry. Because Kumiko taught kids and it brought her some sort of joy and part of his learning to forgive himself was like using Kumiko as a guide.
And so he sees Daniel again in Okinawa and he's like I was grieving and then belatedly realized I kinda had a crush and that crush is back in town and Kumiko knows and sets up a little blind date wishing Chozen luck and then bows out and Chozen decides if it was him, if Daniel ever asked him to come to LA he wouldn't make the same mistake as Yukie or Kumiko. And then Daniel calls and he finally, finally the right person is asked to come to LA.
From the the emoji’s ask here.

hwarang | q.kun | teaser
pairing: qian kun x reader members: qian kun, li yongqin, lee taeyong, lee minhyung, wong yukhei, na jaemin, jeong jaehyun genre: historical fantasty au, angst warnings: cursing, implied torture, mentions of death/injury word count: ~5k
thought i’d drop something because i am about 30k into this and this is only a small portion of that lol. this scene/day takes place some time after the events of the prologue so you’ll probably be confused, but! this is to gauge how well it reads. if you have any comments/concerns/thoughts about it, please let me know!
July 7th, 661 - Seorabeol, Kingdom of Silla Na Jaemin and Li Yongqin stand in the great hall as you enter. They don’t say anything as you look from them to Qian Kun standing at the head of the room, an unsettling aura exuding from him as you delve further into the space.
The past few weeks had given you no information on the whereabouts of your father, despite you going on patrol rounds with the different Hwarang captains. You assume the information, or lack of, was the reason for your summoning today by the commander. Although the presence of the other two Hwarang captains makes you feel somewhat more relieved that you wouldn’t have to face the demon commander alone.
“You asked to see me?” There’s a sour look on Kun’s face as you ask, something clearly eating away at him.
“It’s about your father,” he begins, and you perk up for a moment. Kun’s frown stays on his face as he looks at you, a sinking feeling in your stomach as you can already tell you won’t like what he says. “I think it’s best we stop searching for him for the time being.”
“Why?” You can hardly stop yourself from blurting out the question. You’d only been able to search for him for what felt like a handful of weeks, if you were to stop now there was a major possibility you could lose any leads you have.
Kun remains collected, his arms crossing as he speaks again, “We have reports of activity from Baekje loyalists. It would be more than foolish to let you wander the streets in search of your father at a time like this.”
You recall your encounter a month ago with Kangjoon at the tea shop. He’d been in search of Baekje spies… was the issue really becoming that bad? It was surely one thing to lose one’s homeland, but Silla had been nothing but civil to the former kingdom’s people, or so you’d heard.
“Then, are you asking me to stay here until things are resolved with the loyalists?” You question with a tilt of your head, unable to hide the disappointment in your voice.
The commander nods before turning to Jaemin and Yongqin, “That being said, as for now she isn’t to accompany any captain on their rounds.”
“So that’s why you pulled us in here?” The question more like a musing as it falls from Jaemin. It seems like he too hadn’t known why he was called in and it was now beginning to click. “You know, she’s never caused any issues when we’ve taken her on our rounds… It feels kind of bad now that she can’t tag along.”
“Mhm,” Yongqin nods, “even if something were to happen, as long as she’s not hopping into the fray it should be alright. Besides,” he smirks at you, “it’s not like she could outrun us if she tries to escape.”
“I won’t run,” you protest firmly, knowing that he’s joking. Eyes lingering on Yongqin for a moment before you look back to Kun, “I made a promise when I agreed to stay here. I promised I’d look for my father, I can’t hold myself to that if you won’t let me.”
“Staying with us is putting yourself at risk,” Yongqin shrugs in your periphery, “if you don’t mind that, I don’t mind you joining us.” His gaze travels to Kun, his lips parting, “We’ve had witness reports, I don’t see why we should stop looking when we still have information coming in.”
“You might have a point, Li. But are witness reports a justifiable reason to put her in harm’s way?” The commander rebukes, his hands falling to his sides. “By taking her out with us, we’re placing an unnecessary burden on our shoulders.”
“If I lose the opportunity to search for my father,” fists clenching at your sides, your nails digging into the skin of your palms, “then any future chances of finding him will be nearly impossible.”
Kun looks at you, eyes searching yours, his gaze hardening. You think he’s about to refute you, before he starts speaking again. “You need to follow the orders of every captain you’re on patrol with. No sidetracking them. Am I clear?”
“Yes,” you nod, “of course.” Unsure of how to show your gratitude, you bow towards him.
“I’m not going to be the one ordering you to join them,” the commander huffs as you rise, “that’s up to your discretion.”
By the way that the commander speaks, it seems as if he doesn’t want you to leave the compound for whatever reason. You’re unsure what’s caused the full shift in his attitude towards you accompanying the men out on patrol, but for now it’s probably your best bet to stay within the compound for the time being, or at least until his mindset changes.
After a few quiet goodbyes, you return to your room. Kun’s words of caution reside in your eardrums, you know they’d plague you should you have chosen to go out with either Jaemin or Yongqin. So, until that beast of guilt renders itself immobile, you’ll hole yourself up in the headquarters. Staying inside doesn’t make you happy, it reminds you of the first few weeks you’d spent here. Alone and outcast in a world of unfamiliar faces.
Yet, unlike a few months ago, you now had free roam of the buildings and grounds. Now you find yourself exiting your room, heading towards one of the courtyards littered around the headquarters’ interior. A soft, summer breeze drifts through the almost-gardens as you enter. The sickly sweet smell of the decaying flowers from the spring hitting your nose as the expanse of the space opens up before you.
You sit in the courtyard for a while, the soft gusts of wind eventually dying down and forcing you to take the heat of the sun in all its glory. A sheen of sweat coats your brow as you look towards the white clouds in the sky that refuse to block out the sun.
With little to think about in your ponderance, your thoughts shift from the now blistering heat to your father. You hadn’t thought about it much since your arrival, but the Hwarang had heard of him. Had they been patients of his? Or perhaps he was talking of diseases and how to prevent them the best they could…
The more you think on the subject, the more a pinpoint of a headache begins to grow. You know that the Hwarang have enough secrets without the aid of your father, but you’re not doubtful that your father may be the cause of some of them.
“Did they really leave you alone out here?” You jump at the voice behind you, too lost in thought to hear light footsteps approach. Pushing yourself off of the ground, your hands brushing against your knees to rid them of the grit from the dirt below.
“Ah,” spinning on your heels you’re met face-to-face with the Hwarang’s colonel. “Taeyong… is it okay for you to be out here?” Your gaze drops to his bandaged arm, still not yet healed from his wound earlier in the year.
“It’s not like I need to be bedridden,” he chuckles, gently raising his arm as if to show you it had some movement left within it. “There’s nothing wrong with me.” There was a slight bitterness to his words, almost as if he’d taken a bite of an unripe pear and the taste still lingered on his tongue. “Although I suppose my hand is…”
A sad and twisted smile curls onto his lips as he looks down to his still injured hand. It hadn’t healed, and by now he was probably realizing that it probably never would. You recall the other captain’s concern when the news had arrived of Taeyong’s injury, noting that he’d probably never be able to wield a weapon again.
“And what are you doing out here?” He questions, the bitterness from his voice gone, “I hadn’t realized you were allowed out of your room.”
Typically, no one batted an eye if you were walking around the compound nowadays. Yet, with the heightened tensions in Seorabeol, you suppose being in your room would put more of the Hwarang at ease. The freedom they’d given you was just as easily revoked.
“I just wanted some space to think, is all.” You explain, your hand playing with the fabric of your robes, “I’m sorry.”
“It’s just that when you sneak around with none of us knowing, it makes it seem like you have something to hide,” Taeyong’s lips curve downwards as he listens to your explanation.
“Then I’ll go back to my room,” you sigh and begin to walk past him.
Taeyong’s coldness had begun ever since he’d come back injured. Albeit, you hadn’t known him long enough to gauge his character before that, but there had been a lightness to it that certainly wasn’t here now. The loss of mobility in his arm pained him in more ways than physical, more ways than you could possibly begin to comprehend.
“It’s-” You stop and look back to him, “hot outside today. You shouldn’t stay in the sun too long. Please take care of yourself.” A nervous laugh as you finish, finding him returning something of a lighthearted chuckle. For the first time in weeks, his smile didn’t look forced.
“Thank you,” he nods, the smile still lingering in his voice, “take care of yourself too.”
You don’t find yourself coming across any of the other captains until later that evening, when the sun’s already sunk halfway down the horizon and a golden glow begins to encapsulate the headquarters. As you’re heading towards the main hall you hear a smattering of footsteps behind you, you turn and see Yukhei heading towards you.
“What… what’s that for?” You question, looking down at his hands where he’s holding what looks to be an embroidery needed and a thin candle.
“One of those Baekje guys we picked up isn’t really a talker,” Yukhei explains, gesticulating wildly with his hands as he speaks. “Kun’s with him but doesn’t have the… uh, means to speak with him.” As he sees your eyes widening in realization, he drops his hands behind his back, shielding the objects from vision. “I’ll stop talking and spare you from thinking any more about it.” He lets out a laugh before skirting around you and heading off towards another hallway.
There was even more commotion by the time dinner rolls around. The halls now darkened save for the braziers and candles that lit the entrances and walls. You’re sitting in your room when stomping once again disrupts your thoughts.
“Jaemin!” You call out, having seen his green robes race by your doorway. Almost as quickly as he had shot past, he returns. “Why’s everyone running around tonight?” You ask as he stands in your doorway, trying to hold himself together with deep breaths. “Did that prisoner say something?”
His eyes light up, his chest puffing out almost proudly, “Yeah, Kun finally got the guy to break! It looks like they’re having a meeting right now, we’re actually getting ready for a raid.”
“Wouldn’t that be something the army typically does?”
“It really depends on the severity…” Jaemin notes, “But since most of the troops are still up in Hanseong, the Crown let us do this.” He goes on to explain that the Hwarang would be dividing themselves into two groups. Taeil would lead a group of a dozen men to Wonweol Inn and Kun would lead twenty-three to Jeolin Inn on opposite ends of the city. “Rumor has it that they’ll be at Jeolin, I’m kind of upset they’re sending me to Wonweol.”
It seems as if Kun’s forces were rearing to see action, Taeil’s more so just to make sure all of their leads were covered.
“There aren’t enough men to spread out equally?” You ask, wondering why there was such disparity between the numbers.
Jaemin nods, “A lot of men get sick right when we need them the most.” The closeness of bunks typically made for unsanitary conditions, making the spread of disease fairly easy. “We sent out word to the Guard but it doesn’t seem like they care all too much,” he sighs, leaning back on his heels.
Someone shouts out to him before you’re able to wish him luck, he gives you a curt wave before racing back down the hallway. Some time after the able-bodied men had left, Taeyong calls for you to meet him in the main hall.
“As a courtesy, I assume, Kun has asked me to protect the headquarters in his absence,” he relays to you once you’ve settled yourself into the hall. “It’s empty for the most part but that’s a reason they may attack us.”
“Does that mean you’ll protect me?” You question and he laughs almost immediately, his gold plated earrings clatter together as his head shakes slightly.
“I’m sure I can be of more use than the men who’ve been confined to their beds.” It wasn’t as reassuring as you thought it’d be, but it was at least something. His smile was sad at his words, probably feeling more and more unhelpful as the days progressed.
The silence between the two of you says stagnant until a door to one of the halls opens quietly.
“Colonel Lee,” a man says as he enters, you recognize him as the face who’d pulled Kun away from you when you were out on patrol several weeks ago, “We’ve confirmed that the loyalists are meeting at Wonweol.”
Taeyong sighs, his voice light but his face holding a certain sternness, “I suppose we’ve bet wrong again.” The Hwarang had been certain that Jeolin would be the place of the meeting, and finding out that Wonweol was actually the location was certainly a blow to their plans.
“Minhyung,” Taeyong looks at the newcomer, “can you do me a favor?”
Minhyung nods curtly, awaiting his instruction. You’d come to learn of him through the others, while not a resident of Shinson Temple, he is both a member of the city watch and an officer of the Hwarang. He’d been made aware of your situation at some point, so you didn’t need to feel as guarded around him as other members of the Hwarang.
“First, tell Kun that the meeting is at Wonweol, he should still be on his way to Jeolin.” Taeyong begins and then looks to you, “And I’m sorry to put this on you, but I need you to take her with you.”
Minhyung’s eyes widen almost as big as yours as you ask, “Why me? Wouldn’t I only slow him down?”
“Save for Minhyung here, you’re the most able bodied person residing in the headquarters,” Taeyong says, grimacing at his words as the fingers on his injured hand twitch, “even if you’re a burden you may just as well save someone’s life.”
You bite your lip, seeing that Minhyung was probably thinking the same thoughts that you were. Yet neither of you were in a position to oppose the colonel.
“There’s a chance that the loyalists have called for backup,” Taeyong looks to Minhyung, “If your message were to be intercepted then you’d never reach Kun in time. Do you see what I’m trying to say?”
Minhyung nods slowly, piecing together the elder’s thoughts, “If we run into enemy forces I could hold them off while she delivers the message…”
“You want me to what?!” You can’t help but exclaim. It sounded as if the two of you were caught out, Minhyung would sacrifice himself so that you could escape.
“Don’t worry too much,” Taeyong tries to reassure you, “I doubt it will come to that. We’re short of men right now which means I have to ask you to step in. You’ll need to notify the Guard and the Watch as well.”
“There’s really no one else who can do this?” You ask hesitantly, daunted by what Taeyong was asking you to do. “What about Osaki?”
Osaki Shotaro was another spy in allegiance with the Hwarang, yet he mostly dealt with Yamoto forces.
Taeyong shakes his head, revealing that Osaki was already with Kun’s team heading towards Jeolin.
As if seeing the hesitation on your face, Minhyung steps forward and offers you something of a nervous, sheepish smile. “I heard you know a little bit about protecting yourself,” his eyes glance towards the blade tucked away at your waist, “I unfortunately can’t guarantee your safety, but, if you can manage, you’re welcome to join me.”
Despite the gentle tone he was using, you know he’d kill you the instant you tried to run. This mission took priority over anything and anyone else in his way.
“I’ll go,” you nod, taking in a deep breath. “I can take care of myself, there’s no need to worry about me.”
You can see Taeyong giving you a small smile as Minhyung steps back. More than anything, you know that Taeyong wants to join and fight alongside his men, but it’s impossible. The least you can do is carry out the mission in his stead.
“Then we accept your request, Colonel.” Minhyung nods and begins to head towards the exit with you following closely behind him. He turns to you as you close the door and the coolness of the night air abruptly meets you, “Run with all you can.”
You take off after him, the slow and itching burn rising from your legs the longer you pursue him. It’s as if the streets were plunged into darkness with how little you could see as you race by, the sound of dirt under foot sliding with every footfall. You’re beginning to see that half a year indoors with little to no vigorous exercise had done something of a toll to your physique, you weren’t as in shape as you’d once been.
If you weren’t paying attention, you may have slammed into Minhyung, who had stopped abruptly after reaching the edge of the street once you’d arrived at one of the city’s main roads.
“No matter what you see or hear, follow this street and don’t look back,” he whispers and the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
“Has someone been following us?”
His head shakes, “You don’t need to know that.”
Your breaths heavy, knowing full well that he’d make it faster to Kun than you, “Minhyung you should go, I’ll stay behind.”
He frowns at you, “What could you do by staying behind?”
“If I distract them then you can slip away,” you push, resisting the urge to take a peek at whatever was coming after the two of you.
“If we need bait, then it’s going to be me,” his hand reaches for his sword at his side as he looks past you, “Now, run!”
It takes no time for him to rush behind you and for your legs to kick off from the ground and begin to barrel down the street in front of you. You hear a clatter of blades as you further yourself from the scene, thinking that Minhyung’s already locked in combat before he calls out, “Keep running until you see white!”
Knees weakened with the adrenaline of it all, you run down the street. You’re sure that the only way you’d be able to stop preemptively was to tear tendon from bone. Even in your haste you feel sluggish, as if everything around you were frozen in time. You run for another two minutes before spotting two silhouettes wearing white robes in the distance, as you near you can see the commander with Jeong Jaehyun.
“What are you doing here?!” Kun says angrily as you stop before them, a tinge of surprise coating his words. You could almost cry in relief at seeing the two of them.
It’s then you notice that they’re not wearing the typical blue robes of the Hwarang, they’ve instead traded the vibrant hue for a pale white. Maybe it’s for better visibility, but you’re not too certain.
With shaking limbs you try and step forward, your knees giving way and you begin to fall towards the ground. Jaehyun reaches out to hold you up before you collapse entirely.
“Are you alright?” He asks as he helps you back to your feet. “You know if Kun finds out you left the compound without permission he’ll kill you, right?”
Rather than explain yourself, you focus on regulating your breath. At this moment you were far too winded to express why you’d left. After one, two breaths you take a third long inhale and turn to the commander.
“They’re meeting at Wonweol,” huffing out in short puffs of air, you try to straighten yourself to the best of your ability. Kun’s eyes widen at your words and he turns to Jaehyun.
“I knew they’d be there!” An almost hiss escapes through his clenched teeth as Jaehyun stares back at him.
Yuta, who you hadn’t seen standing off to the side with another group of men, steps forward. “Are you sure?” He questions you, a grave seriousness intertwined with his words.
“Taeyong lost his arm, not his brain,” Kun says, looking over to Yuta, “if she’s out here looking for us and not hightailing it back to her hometown, then it’s safe to surmise he sent her.”
“It’s impressive that you found us,” Jaehyun mutters, “Seorabeol is a big city, after all.”
“It was Minhyung,” you answer, the burning in your lungs slowly residing. “He told me to find you so he could fight against some of the loyalists.”
“What about the Guard or the Watch, are they on their way?” Kun asks, his hand resting atop the hilt of his sword. When you shake your head, you can almost see him trying to piece together their next move.
“Nakamoto, Jeong, take the men to Wonweol,” He instructs, a commandeering veneer to his words. “There’s something I need to do.”
The two captains nod and turn back to their men to relay the news and inform them of what their new plans were. Before they begin to move, Yuta looks back to you, “The city’s more dangerous tonight than it’s been on any of our rounds. Either stick with Jeong and I or go with Qian.”
It was a relatively easy choice to make, right? You’d stick with Kun as the other two seemed to be off to battle. The prospect of being alone with the stoic commander was somewhat intimidating, but it would put you away from the bloodshed.
The two of you watch the rest of the group form together and head off into the dimly lit streets towards Wonweol Inn. Kun doesn’t say anything until the ringing out of the warrior’s footsteps dissipates into the humid nighttime.
“Good work in delivering that message,” there’s appreciation in his voice as he looks to you, something resembling a small smile pulling at his lips, “That information may have just given us the advantage we need.” An approving comment from the Hwarang’s demon commander was something that you’d never thought you’d hear, it makes your heart pound gleefully for a moment out of sheer shock of the scenario.
Kun and you step from the narrow street and move to one of Seorabeol’s main roads, a nearly deserted place at this time of night.
“Kun?” You ask, feet treading on the grit of the dirt walkways, “Why are we out here?”
“The Hwarang don’t hide in the shadows like these Baekje loyalists,” He says matter-of-factly and looks down the street as if he’s searching for something, or someone.
It doesn’t take long for a figure to appear running towards the two of you. For a moment you think it’s an enemy and begin to reach for the blade at your hip before recognizing a familiar silhouette.
“You’re alive!” You gasp out, dropping your hand away from your side as the other approaches.
Minhyung doesn’t respond to you verbally, only nods his head with a small smile before straightening up and looking at Kun. “I assume you’ve been told of what’s happening at Wonweol? The colonel told me to notify the Guard and the Watch but...”
“I’ll have more orders for you in a bit,” Kun nods in understanding, “Just stay nearby for now.” He then turns to you as Minhyung slips wordlessly into a nearby alley. “I’ve got to have a word with a few useless assholes.” There was a spark of anger in his voice, a fire dimly beginning to glow brighter in his eyes. The commander then looks past you, you turn and see an oncoming group of Silla soldiers making their way down the street. Kun mutters something you can’t make out under his breath as they near.
You now realize why he’d brought you out into the main road, neither of you would have seen the oncoming troops had you been tucked away in a side street.
The pace of the oncoming soldiers was lazy, almost unconcerned in a way that miffed you. Shouldn’t they be worried about sating a near rebellion from a fallen kingdom?
“The Hwarang are still fighting at Wonweol… aren’t they?” You ask into the nighttime, a strange fear gripping you as the dwindled numbers of the Hwarang were putting their lives at stake in order to quell this disturbance. Didn’t these men before you have, if not more, responsibility to quash it?
Perhaps the anger and disbelief in your voice was more present than you though, as Kun lets out a small chortle of laughter, “Don’t worry about it, I’ll make sure they stay in line.” He steps out further into the street, directly in front of the group that was now only several meters in front of him.
All he did was move away from you and face them, but he now holds an aura of authority that hadn’t been there moments prior.
“The Hwarang are currently conducting an official investigation of Wonweol Inn,” he calls out as they stop before him, his voice echoing around the surrounding buildings. “You will not interfere or enter the Inn.”
Even you could see the grumblings of protest beginning to stir in the movements of the soldiers when Minhyung appears from the shadows once more and begins to speak quietly to you, “If Kun lets those men walk into Wonweol, they’ll get the credit for subduing the revivalists.”
“How could they…?” You ask, looking towards Minhyung. “It’s the Hwarang who are risking their lives for this mess.”
“It’s more political than just the Hwarang or the soldiers taking credit,” Minhyung sighs as Kun continues to shout to the men before him. “Kun’s adoptive father’s high ranking in the court’s aristocracy, so are a few of the other captain’s fathers. The Hwarang, in a way, represent them and the soldiers here represent the more military-inclined families. In the end it’s not the question of whether it was the Hwarang or the guard who subdued the loyalists, but which families were behind the winning team, in the Crown’s eyes.”
“That’s…” Convoluted. Confusing. Complex. Insane. Elaborate. “A lot.”
Minhyung must’ve been able to see the perplexion in your gaze as he laughs to himself, “That’s only scratching the surface. But it shows the utter disrespect each side has for one another and I expect it won’t be resolved any time soon.” Both of your gazes travel back to the commander at the front of the guard, “Kun’s single handedly protecting the Hwarang right now. If we allow them to get to the Inn, they’ll lionize themselves.”
You can see that Minhyung thinks highly of Commander Qian in the way he admirably talks of his staunch resolution in doing what’s best for the Hwarang.
It seems as if Kun’s startling tactic was beginning to wane as a few soldiers began to protest against his declaration.
“If you really think you can fit nearly, what- one hundred men into that building?” Kun’s eyes scan the lines of soldiers for a moment, “If you think you can fit all of them into Wonweol, you’re insane. The best you can do with these numbers is surround it and make sure no one escapes.” He’s trying to dissuade them, you wonder if they can see it as clearly as you. “Unless you really want to lead your men to the slaughter. There’s already a fight happening, and if you value your lives I’d suggest you stay put.”
The head official leading the troops relents, stepping away from Kun as he finds no room for argument against the commander of the Hwarang. Kun stays in front of the troops until a member of the Hwarang finds you all standing there some time later, claiming that the battle has ended.
Kun, Minhyung and you had returned to the compound as the first wave of Hwarang were returning from the skirmish. The fight had only lasted a matter of two hours, but to you it had felt like much longer. There had been nearly two dozen revivalists congregating at the inn, the Hwarang had ended up killing seven of their members and injuring four more of them.
Minhyung tells you later on in the night that, with the aid of the Guard and Watch, sixteen more people in the city were arrested in relation to the Wonweol incident. The owner of the inn had also been arrested as he was aiding in the escape of several of the loyalists.
The Hwarang had prevailed, despite having the weaker numbers, in an incredible victory. Yet, with that victory also came some losses. Yongqin had taken a blow to the chest and fell unconscious shortly after, Jaemin had been cut across his forehead and the bleeding hadn’t relented, Yukhei had injured his hand in a brawl, one Hwarang had lost his life and two others were severely injured. It didn’t seem as if the last two would make it the week due to the severity of their injuries.
With the quelling of the revivalist by Hwarang hands, it seems as if the group were now in a more favorable light with the Crown. As well as with the court members who vied for the organization’s success.
