What is Little!Mairon? Is there a fanfiction about little Mairon and Aule? 🤩🤩

Little!Mairon or the Precious Baby AU is an AU where what's left of Sauron's spirit following the destruction of the Ring re-forms as a toddler. He lives with Aule and Yavanna because no one really knows what to do with him. He's not just a small Sauron. He doesn't quite seem to remember much of what's happened for the last thousands and thousands of years. And what he does remember is very much filtered through the mind of a child. He might know things like he was the Lieutenant of Morgoth but he doesn't really know what those words mean any more. He plays some (to him) completely innocent games but to everyone else he's just play acting at what he used to be like at the height of his power.

He enjoys spending time with Aule's Maiar and the Elves learning from them in the forges. He seems to kind of remember what they're doing, but not really. He likes spending time in the gardens with Yavanna and her Maiar. They teach him all about plants and animals and the intricate systems they form. He's prone to eating ants and can't be trusted around them.

If you want to calm him down, give him some orange slices.

There is a fanfic about how this came about that's been going very slowly (only has two chapters so far), but I've returned to writing over the last weekend, so the next chapter is in the works:

started off as me redrawing some of my initial mairon designs and ended up going on an rpg tangent 😭 i really wish i could have done the portraits in a pixel art style to better fit the aesthetic but my canvas wasnt the right size!!! i ended up changing annatar completely (im still contemplating how much i prefer this one compared to his old one however...!) and adjusting post-numenor sauron a bit when compared to their old 2022 sketches! im probably gonna do more redraws in the months to come cause of all the stuff i wanna change when i look back to some of my old designs haha 😳

i like to think each 'form' sauron takes eventually has different mannerisms and likes/dislikes the longer he stays in them without shapeshifting into something else, but one thing they all have in common is being predisposed to nagging melkor 😎

There isn’t any reason in the texts for the Valar to be huge compared to the Maiar. Or for either of them to be one particular size at all. As far as I’m aware they both should be capable of being the exact same size, as large or as little as they like.

But also Sauron should be able to stand on Morgoth’s hand and whisper secrets into an ear that’s the size of his body, and Eonwe should be able to perch on Manwe’s shoulder like a funny little bird while the Elder King is holding court, and that it wouldn’t be strange to see some of Aule’s Maiar hiding in his beard after getting into mischief of some kind or another.

Day #116 - Dark lords on a dark throne

i like the idea of sauron and melian being something akin to "siblings" as far as the ainur go, because then 1). their powers intermingling at the borders of doriath and creating a stretch of haunted eldritch land is cool and funny as fuck, just siblings being siblings you know; and 2). that makes sauron lúthien's uncle. he gets thrashed by his niece whom he's just met for the first time and her new dog, and then she chews him out and calls him a bitch to his face. extra comedic potential if sauron knows he's her uncle but lúthien has no idea

a while ago in june of last year i posted this sketch dump and received a very wonderful ask from @mochamai wherein the mysterious ghost hand to the left of maedhros was brought to attention..... i hv seized this opportunity to do these very self indulgent doodles of Melkor who (loathe as i am to admit it) is the individual that hand belongs to 😭😭

HEAR ME OUT OK. it was just supposed to be a random hand right. i had drawn it with normal nails and everything!!! BUT THEN. then. i was on pinterest browsing character design inspiration and i found the infamous stained dark claw hand (if you know you know) and i realised it was my one chance to actually incorporate it into my silm designs... then i considered who would fit it and all i could think of was post-silmaril morgoth.... and here we are :((((

anyways ive been kinda busy these past two months BUT i used this chance to squeeze in some anatomy practice so errrrr dont ask me why he's shirtless in most of these..... i will only speak in the presence of my attorney........

thank you again for taking the time to ask though!!!!! ❤️❤️ i really really do like your original interpretation of the hand (i'll post the original picture below if anyone is curious) belonging to Maedhros in Mandos-- especially since it kinda matches up lorewise doesnt it....!!! it means a lot that youd take the time to look at it in such detail waaaaa <3333 maybe some new mae doodles are in order to make up for it 😚😚 soon!!!

sauron kneeling down before the orcs and adar is not because he deemed himself as an equal; rather he deemed himself as above them. he greatly underestimate the orcs and overestimate his ability in keeping them under control, which is why he was taken aback by the attack. he felt betrayed by them, in the sense that his pride was shattered. he knew the orcs despise him, he knew he is sorrounded by enemies, he just never thought they would unite to rid of him from the hierarchy. of course he's intelligent. he should have seen this coming. but he is also arrogant. time and time again his arrogance led him to his own demise, because he believe he can maneuver his way out of the problem. be it by strength or charm.

I love the idea that Saruman looked up to Sauron during the Almaren days so much. It always makes me think of Curumo as an annoying younger brother. Like,

Curumo: Hey bro come check this out!

Mairon: Not right now, I’m busy.

Curumo: No you have to come see it now

Mairon: I said no.

Curumo: Come on, please?

Mairon: No.

Curumo: come on come on come on come on come on come on come on com—

Mairon: No!! Leave me alone!

Curumo: Pleeeeaseee? I’ll leave if you just come see what it is!

Mairon, sighing: Fine. What is it.

Curumo: A dead slug I cast in silver! :D
