Heeeey I'm back again with another tidbit of the Slay the Knight AU (AKA: the Re:Zero and Slay the Princess crossover au)

Anyways due to some of y'all's amazing suggestion, I think I have a lot more ideas to rave about rn, mostly about the voices, but also some about the different Barus that this au would have!

Ok so, first the voices:

Voice of the Hero - Voice of the Noble: Julius.

Voice of the Contrarian - Voice of the Opposed: Ram

Voice of the Opportunist- Voice of the Cunning: Anastasia

Voice of the Cold - Voice of the Shut-in: Beatrice

Voice of the Paranoid - Voice of the Troubled: Otto

Voice of the Stubborn - Voice of the Proud: Priscilla

Voice of the Hunted - Voice of the Protector (shield, get it?): Garfield

Voice of the Cheated - Voice of the Wronged: Felt

Voice of the Skeptic - Voice of the Cynic: Pick

Voice of the Smitten - Voice of the Devoted: Rem

Voice of the Broken - Voice of the Selfless: Reinhard

I think that's all the voices but I might be wrong. . Uhhh anyways here they all are! Again a lot of these are from suggestions, but I really liked them! Some names are still iffy (Felt and Garfiel could definitely be improved upon I think) but I do like the character placements!

My favorite thing to think about is which route these voices will interact with, since all the Barus will be very. . . Interesting.

Speaking of the Barus, here's some ideas I had for their princess equivalents, with pictures!

So, first, to get it out of the way: The Witch

100% Wrathbaru, there's not a single bone in my body that says otherwise. The Witch route is all about distrust, it's all about how you betrayed the Princess and so she betrayed and beat up you, there's even a reference to the Frog and the Scorpion fable in her route, a fable all about trusting someone only to get hurt in doing so. Hell, the characteristic voice for her route is Voice of the Opportunist, who's singlehandedly the voice that should be trusted the least

Meanwhile in the Wrath IF route, Wrathbaru was specifically incredibly paranoid and distrustful to the point where he stopped seeing color, only ever seeing color in people who he fully trusted, mainly because he knew for certain where they stood emotionally when it came to him either through consistency across loops (Beatrice and Emilia) or because he knows that they just hate him (Ram and also kinda Emilia)

The point is, Wrathbaru absolutely would be the Witch equivalent, if only for the themes alone, though he's a lot somber than the very playful Witch.

Also, catboy Wrathbaru, enough said.

Though if Wrathbaru is The Witch then The Thorn will definitely be really interesting

I like to think that Wrathbaru in the Thorn would still be very jumpy and paranoid, instead of the gentle show of trust in the og game, Emilia (The Long Quiet) would have to drag Wrathbaru out of those vines kicking and screaming

Having Rem, Julius and Anastasia harassing Echidna (The Narrator) about describing a kiss with Wrathbaru would be absolutely hilarious though, absolutely peak fiction

Now, let's please talk about The Damsel

So, we can like, all agree that this is arc 1-2 Baru, right? Just straight up that Subaru, but with more bimbo energy

Rem here would be fun, though she probably wouldn't say things in the exact same manner the Smitten does, she can still be really funny with her Subaru crush, as seen in the snow special

Ok, so like, we got the Damsel figured out, cool.

Now, Happily Ever After, on the other hand

Ok so this is pristine cut content, so definitely some big spoilers, but:

Greebaru. Just, 100%, 1000% Greedbaru coded. There's not a single princess that could ever rival the Greedbaru-ness of this princess in the entire game

Just, him and Emilia being literally controlled the entire time, the idea of Echidna slowly growing disillusioned as the route goes on as she sees where her meddling will take her, the constant repetition and Subaru's desperation that doing things again and again will fix it, the fact that REM I would be the one orchestrating all of this???

Just, how utterly miserable everyone is inside of this route, it's simply Greed IF core. Everyone knows that Greed IF is the IF where no one gets to be happy despite everything technically being "alright", which is exactly the vibes that this route has!

Also, going from Arc 1-2 Subaru to Greed IF Subaru would be such a drastic jump, I love it

Greebaru would be a lot calmer than the og princess in this route, think lots of fake smiles and call insistance that slowly becomes hysterical desperation

Also, dancing with Greebaru under the stars, enough said

For other standouts:

The Den

We get to have a full monster Baru!

He'll probably be a chimera type beast that's a ground dragon (Petrasche reference ayy) mixed with a rabbit (hah) with a big horn on his forehead and Cappella-esque wings

There's no way to really stick his iconic slicked back hair on a rabbit head without it looking a bit goofy, so I propose we let Subaru grow his hair out and have it down for this one

The Razor:

For some reason I cannot possibly describe to you, I keep thinking of her equivalent being Pridebaru. No seriously do not ask me why, I don't know either

Maybe it's because she's the most affably murder happy one? Then again there's the Adversary. . . Anyways if she were to be Pridebaru then I suggest an added fire motif, along with the blades

The blades can mainly stay due to the association with Elsa, in fact, maybe this Baru can specifically only ever target Emilia's guts when he goes to skewer her

Also Mutually Assured Destruction

That entire interaction will be hilarious now. Rem finding this beautiful, Priscilla saying it's the perfect man, Ram wondering if he can be thrown out of a window??? Mwah, perfection

I also would like if there was a fire motif there, maybe he can also he on fire

The Nightmare

My beloved, because he would mean we get to hear Otto do the "Heart. Lungs. Liver. Nerves" chant, but also I have no clue what Baru he would even be

Maybe Gluttony??? A Moment of Clarity would make Gluttony an interesting pick here, but I don't know for sure

6) which ship fans are the most annoying?

i have grown to hate poly team 7 the most rn. i hate whenever ppl see a ship war and go “if they all date it fixes everything” when no???? and that ship specifically just lives off my leeching of narusasu scenes and trying to insert sakura in it. example: “naruto is the sun, sasuke is the moon and sakura the star” ?&/&2!&2 as if the manga isn’t constantly making narusasu dynamic smth separated from every other bond and relationship each of them has.

it’s incredibly annoying also that the same people that have spend years harassing narusasu for imaginary misogyny for shipping a gay ship and fictional cheating hcs are now all suddenly okay w cheating as long as it’s on hinata only. like most of these people are just annoying sakura self inserts that are mad she’s sidelined all the time because kishimoto wanted for narusasu only to be the plot.

Someone on Instagram asked "if you were alone with your book's main character for 10 minutes, would you walk out alive" and I just pictured meeting this character and basically felt thrown across the room. Because I had an almost physical reaction to the unexpected, out-of-nowhere compulsive urge to literally kiss him so violently it would count as assault. It was pure, but ehmmm. Violent. And that took me out, caught me so off-guard, I feel like I already did it and I'm just left blinking.

I... didn't know that I thought like this. It's not even about him being fictional, there's something very real about it that I can't quite explain.

I haven't been writing a crush, I have been writing a male version of myself who loves herself better. Some parts of what he doesn't know, I know, and some parts of what I don't, he does. We are both afraid and bad at loving ourselves yet somehow we do. We trust, we learn, we cling to each other especially when we feel unsafe. Lastly, I've seen some people mention that Norma is bisexual for their propaganda, but so is Usagi! Yes, she ends up with Mamoru, however throughout the series and the manga she develops numerous crushes on women. Haruka, the character above, is one of the examples. She also very commonly remarks on other women's attractiveness throughout the series.

And while the anime (especially 90s version) hid Usagi's queerness, the original manga shows many instances of her crushing on girls.

Lastly, no matter if you're a die hard Sailor Moon fan or someone who watched Sailor Moon as a kid, her cultural impact is undeniable. Sailor Moon is one of the most iconic, one of the best written, characters ever created. She led to the modern resurgence of currently popular pop culture themes such as first love, personalification of celestial bodies, powerful women in media, fashion trends from the 90s to today. And while several characters had wonderful style, Usagi's was the most influential of them all:

I’m one of those Poly! Ghostface X F reader writers. However, I love Stu and Billy as a monogamous ship too and I hc them both as Bi men, which is why I write poly triads and not V’s in my fics. When I first joined the Scream fandom, Stuilly was my otp that I wrote shit for. I like when the writing focuses on all 3 and doesn’t just restrict the mlm of the relationship. He was odd, not like the rest of you, and yet he still fit in. You always find your [color]-hued eyes following his form wherever he goes, never out of your sight.

You're always right behind him.

He has always noticed those cat-like pupils watching him; in fact, it's hard not to when they seem to bore a hole into his back.

"I certainly wonder… what exactly is it that keeps you so hot on my heels?" The samurai wonders aloud, his intention for you to hear it. "I may not know who you are, nor what you are, but I do know with certainty that you're there."

You feel embarrassed by how easily he noticed you when all the others always praised your ability to go undetected.

And yet you're still unwilling to come out of hiding; who knows? Maybe he means somebody else?

Your hopes are quickly crushed when a chuckle hits you from the left, head whipping into his direction way too fast.

"Look at you, little fox," He comments, clearly bemused by your state of shock, "who would've thought you're of such beauty? I'm hurt you've hidden from me all this time, you know?"

The embarrassment catches up to you, coating your neck and face in a sheen of heat, your ears lowered and tails rapidly moving behind you. "Tell me… How did you notice my presence?"

He turns on his heel, back facing you, and he chuckles once more. "Why, the wind told me."

You furrow your brows, ears slowly standing back tall and proud on your head to listen for anything - but there's nothing.

"Are you messing with me now?" You spit in distaste and stand up. "Just because I do not carry a weapon, it does not make me harmless."

"Oh, I would never think of you as a defenseless little thing…" He mumbles, and in a flash, he is out of your line of sight.

"What?!" You exclaim in surprise, but before you're able to turn your head, you feel the cool steel of a sword pressed lightly against your throat.

"State your business this instant, or I will bleed you out faster than you can blink."

"Aw, you're no fun." You say, bottom lip jutting out a little. "C'mon, dear samurai, surely you won't dare to hurt a cute Kitsune like me, right?"

A scoff sounds from the man standing behind you, and he moves the blade of his sword away. "You're unbelievable, y/n. Is that how you deal with enemies? If it was someone else, they would've already severed your head from your neck the second they got close enough! We're practicing serious battles here!"

"Kazuha, you're getting all worked up over nothing." You state without empathy, giving him a deadpan look. "Even if it would go down that route… How many times have I told you that I'm immortal? It's literally in the folktales everyone grows up with."

He stays quiet, flicks his katana, and puts it back into the sheath.

The air suddenly goes still, and you're hit with the sounds of the forest around you while your eyes are solely fixated on Kazuha. "Then tell me, little fox, what am I?"

Goosebumps rise on your skin and your ears lay flat once again. "I-"

"You don't know, do you? No one does, and it's scaring me, y/n."

You take cautious steps towards him, eyes softening upon seeing the confusion swirling in his crimson eyes. "I'll… try and get into the Shrine's Sacred Library, okay? Maybe I will find something that will make sense of your existence. I promise you."

He lifts his head to meet your eyes, and a small smile pulls at the corner of his lips. "I'm glad we met, little fox."

This phrase struck a deep feeling of dread within you after he turned on the spot and went into the woods. Surely, this was just a weird feeling after such a deep conversation, right?

Wrong.

But still, you left to go back home and try to make sense of his being. You've never broken a promise, not in your 200 years of lifetime, and you won't start now.

"Delighted to meet you this early morning, dear y/n. What can I help you with?" Guuji Yae greets you with her playful smile when you make your way up to the Grand Narukami Shrine.

"Good morning to you, too." You greet her with a bow before meeting her eyes. "I would like to inquire about something. Can you spare me some of your precious time?"

Her ears twitch when she senses how serious you are about the topic you are about to ask her.

"Of course, what's bothering you, dear?"

You sigh deeply and try to find the right words to say. "So… I'm certain you've heard of Kaedehara Yoshinori's grandson?"

"You mean Kazuha? What bothers you about him?" Miko turns serious now and crosses her arms in front of her chest.

"I… have had a bad feeling ever since he left yesterday. He doesn't know what he is, and it's hurting him… so I promised to help."

The pink-haired woman sighs and averts her gaze for a few seconds before meeting your eyes once more. "It's a really old tale, a few centuries old, to be precise, so you likely haven't heard of it."

"A tale? As in… Folklore?" You ask her with furrowed brows.

Lady Guuji Yae nods before continuing. "I'm sure you were looking to go into the Shrine's Sacred Library, but because you haven't got a clue, you came to ask me first, is that correct?"

"Yes, that is correct, but only partly." You agree with a nod. "I planned to come to you first regardless due to your vast knowledge."

She chuckles heartily. "You flatter me, y/n. Okay, then, I shall explain what your beloved Kazuha actually is."

Heat spreads across your face upon her comment, but you keep quiet and let her explain the tale.

"Many moons ago, there first appeared a certain person. This person bore neither name nor weapon; they arrived out of thin air one foggy night at the shore of Yashiori Island. The said person looked and behaved like any other mortal human being - but they were different. They could shapeshift, manipulate the elements, and do other things only we Yōkai can do. This person was Kaedehara Yoshinori's Great Grandfather, the first-ever Onmyōji to set foot upon this land."

"Onmyōji?" You ask after she makes a pause.

Miko nods and sighs before continuing. "Onmyōji are humans with the powers of Yokai. Each of them has a different kind of power, and it's impossible to tell because their abilities do not get inherited from their parents. Now tell me, what kind of abilities have you seen from Kazuha?"

You take a second to process all the information Lady Yae just bombarded you with. The soft morning breeze gently messes with your hair, and it almost feels like someone's airy touch gliding through your locks.

"I haven't seen any, but he keeps talking about how the wind tells him stuff…"

"Hmm… This is the first time I'm hearing about someone who's able to make use of the wind." She replies, striking a thinking pose. "But regardless, you've got your answer. Now go find him, y/n."

You nod, "Thank you so much, Lady Yae!" And bow quickly before switching to your fox form and trying to find Kazuha.

It smells like a storm is coming when you arrive back at the place you've last seen the Samurai. Though it's faint, you manage to make out his scent and rush to find him, the feeling of dread suddenly hitting you like a truck.

You find him sitting slumped against a tree, his katana dirtied with dried blood lying next to his open palm facing the sky.

"Kazuha!" You yell after quickly transforming back to your human form and rushing over to him. "Hey! Kazuha! What happened to you?!"

Your stomach drops when he coughs and specks of blood land on his clothes and yours. "KAZUHA!"

The man can barely lift his head enough to look into your eyes, those cat-like pupils were blown wide and made them appear almost black.

He cracks a smile. "Hey there…"

"Kazuha what the fuck happened to you?! Why are you here in this state?!" You frantically look around for clues, but all you can see are cuts across the forest floor, on the trees, and the metallic smell of blood. "Did you get into a fight?"

"Yeah…" He replies weakly, harsh coughing interrupting him and shaking his battered body. "But I won.. heh."

A tear drops from your eyes and you rush to check him for wounds.

You stifle the horrifying scream that threatens to escape your throat when you manage a glance at the terrific stab wound to his abdomen. His blood has stained his clothes a deep scarlet and even formed a little puddle on the ground. "I- We have to get you back to the city! If you don't see a doctor it's going to be over for you, you gigantic idiot!"

Kazuha manages to chuckle slightly, his red eyes meeting yours for the first time now. "Y/n, I don't think it's looking all too promising for me right now.."

"Shut up! I will make sure- I will make sure you make it! Even if it costs me my own life!!" You wail as your tears stream rapidly down your cheeks, "fuck. Don't do this to me now, Kazuha! I've just found out about what you so dearly wanted to know!"

His eyes widened; surely, you didn't..?

"You… You're an Onmyōji. Lady Yae told me about it. Now- don't dip on me, you asshole!" You panic when his eyes fall shut and decide to proceed quickly. With quick hands, you tie your ripped-off sleeve around his stab wound to stop the still-going blood from flowing out. You hoist the rather petite man into your arms and make a run for the city, praying that your doctor friend was still awake.

"Y/n? What- Oh my God come in!" Your friend opens the door after your relentless banging, quickly letting you in when she sees the state of the man in your arms. "Sit down, I'll patch him up."

So you nervously take a seat on one of the chairs in the living room, hands playing with the hem of your shorts to keep yourself occupied.

Half an hour later, your friend emerges from her medical room and sighs. "He barely made it. If you would have taken just five more minutes, it might have been too late for him."

"So he'll be okay?" You ask, ears flat on your head.

"Yes, I did my best and he's a fighter. He will recover soon, all thanks to you." She smiles and plops down on the chair across from you. "So… he's the one you like?"

He appears by the doorway with a soft smile on his face and takes a bag out of your hand and into your kitchen.

"A little bit, yes." He replies and takes out the food you've brought.

"Let's sit down on the couch and have dinner then." You suggest and quickly go into your room to change into more comfortable clothes.

Upon entering the living room, you see Kazuha already seated and patiently waiting for you to join him.

"Enjoy your food!" You smile at him and you both start eating.

Kazuha smiles happily as he chews on his Sangayaki, and you melt a little on the inside at how pretty he is.

"Do you want a bite?" He suddenly asks upon noticing how you've been staring.

Heat covers your cheeks, but you're intrigued so you nod. However, you didn't expect him to move his piece of Sangayaki towards your direction, eyes set on feeding it to you.

You look into his eyes while taking a bite out of it, and he watches you intently as you chew.

Kazuha's eyes crinkle adorably as you comment on the food. "You're so cute, y/n, it kills me sometimes."

Suddenly the room goes quiet and you witness the man's eyes gradually grow bigger and his cheeks taking on a darker hue of red by the second.

"Kazuha," You mumble, finally having made up your mind after contemplating for 4 weeks, "I really like you."

He puts down his Sangayaki and you do the same with your food, your eyes finding his again after this short interruption.
