so i've started working out with 2kg dumbbells (and sometimes my kettlebell) every night before bed to stretch my back out for a more comfortable sleep, and also to see if it'll lessen the size and eventually get rid of a lipoma lump that i've developed in my upper back (without pesky day surgery obvs).
but what i've noticed is that nearly EVERY women's dumbbell workout video (also a lot of kettlebell workouts) focuses on are SEXY, TONED muscles. or they're also always about "fat burning and booty busting" for lower body and core workouts.... not much about getting stronger or having better posture, or simply being healthier. i am NOT here to make myself look sexy. I'm NOT here to fat burn (mostly bc i don't have much fat to burn- since i'm already thin and weigh 48kg/105 lbs/7 and a half stone). i am NOT here to "booty bust" or whatever the fuck, or at least not quite yet.... since i don't have great core strength and good upper leg strength. plus I'm never going to have a full voluptuous toned and sexy natural bbl looking ass anyway, bc of my body type. unless i waste money on a BBL surgery or idek take some considerably heavy supplements or whatever to make me put on weight.
anyway. what i'm there for is to build a stronger back. again, to get better sleep. to improve my posture and also sure, up my arm strength a bit as well. I'm just sick and tired of anything to do with women's fitness having to do with being "SEXY AND TONED" and "BOOTY BUSTING AND FAT BURNING". I get that they're probs keywords that get the videos into searches and to be clickbait, thus allowing the fitness instructor to get views etc. but men's workout videos are all about getting stronger- and so are workout articles/columns to do with dumbbell/kettlebell workouts for men.
like ok. i guess part of me doing it is to look a bit toned on my arms. but again, i reiterate: i am doing weight training mostly to improve back strength and to reduce back stiffness when i sleep (and also sit around all day), for when i don't do much exercise at home. bc it opens my back out, in a sense, to be stretched and worked.
i'm just sick of everything being reduced to "sexy" and "toned" and "ooooh burn that fat, bitch" and "hella booty workout slaaaaaay" even in sport.... when (A.) i'm NEW to this health and workout stuff. i just want a no bullshit beginners/idiot's guide to dumbbell workouts, and (B.) i'm here for PRACTICAL and FUNCTIONAL reasons (better health, reducing a health concern, better posture/back and sleep) and NOT AESTHETIC reasons (looking sexy/toned etc). it's just. fucking frustrating. and i also found the same thing after hospital in 2021... even though yes, i did have practical workouts from the exercise physio i was seeing at the time. but i've obvs modified those exercises since then.
just whenever there's anything to do with women's fitness and health, it's automatically like demoted to "sexy"/"toned" and everything else. i obvs do acknowledge that some, if not most, women are going for toned muscles and to look or feel "sexier" or w/e. i'm not shaming them. i'm just here to say im pissed that women dont seem to get practical descriptive video titles like "follow this dumbbell workout video to get better posture and better general health" instead it's the "ultimate guide for women to losing cellulite fat on thighs and getting a juicy booty IN JUST 30 DAYS!!! start this intense kettebell workout today!!!" and also "hella sexy back workout to get the TONED shoulders and biceps of your dreams- GET RID OF THOSE STUBBORN CHICKEN ARMS TODAY WITH THESE 5 INTERMEDIATE DUMBBELL MOVES. TO. KILL. THAT. FAT!!!!"
#life#about me#shut up ilona#ilona whines about her shitty life to her followers lol#ilona actually shares her life with her followers for once lol#ilona's shares the most mundane shit she does with her followers lol#but seriously though#does this frustrate the fuck out of anyone else??? or is it just me????

What to Expect After Lipoma Surgery: Recovery and Care
A lipoma is a benign tumor that could appear almost anywhere in the body as an aggregation of fat tissue. While basically harmless, sometimes it becomes irritating or embarrassing for patients seeking lipoma treatment surgery for its removal. Knowing how one would recover after this kind of surgery, including the post-surgical care that needs to be administered, helps ease the healing period. In this blog, we will discuss the post-surgical care of lipoma and how you can monitor its complications.
If you are looking for an experienced surgeon to perform your lipoma treatment in Trivandrum, trust Smart Surgeons. We at Smart Surgeons provide world-class medical care to our patients with suitable recovery. You must visit Smart Surgeons for expert advice and quality care of your lipoma.
Understanding Lipoma Surgery
General Lipectomy is usually the simple procedure that the patient receives under local anesthesia. It requires a cutting above the lipoma during the removal surgery process. Removing the fatty knot without causing unnecessary bruising should be an essential aspect done carefully in this surgical treatment. A suture placed on the wound followed by a placement of sterile dressings does all. A duration of less than one hour is generally required according to the size and location of the lipectomy whole procedure.
Immediate Post-Surgery Care
You will spend a short time in the recovery area immediately after surgery. Here, the medical staff will monitor you for any adverse reactions to the anesthesia. Most patients can go home on the same day of lipoma removal surgery.
The following are some important steps for immediate post-surgery care:
Rest and Relaxation: You must rest for the first 24-48 hours after the surgery. Do not engage in any strenuous activities or heavy lifting to avoid straining the surgical site.
Pain Management: You feel pain or soreness about the incision in the majority of cases. Sometimes, your surgeon may give you prescription medication from over-the-counter, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Do everything your surgeon said you had to do in regard to the management of pain.
Wound Care: You will have to maintain the site clean and dry. You will be able to get information about how to care for the wound with guidelines from your surgeon covering how often to let the wound dry or even change dressings.
Management of Swelling and Bruising
Appropriate bruising and swelling that occur over a site will likely resolve in hours, days to a week, or up to weeks on its own. Apply ice packs directly on the body regions with presumed injury at frequent, 15 to 20-minute intervals throughout the initial 48 hours after the surgery. You may also rest your injured extremity up a shoulder, for instance, or onto another hip in order to further limit edema formation.
Monitor Post Surgical Complications
While this is unusual, pay close attention to signs of infection or other problems. Be sure to contact your surgeon right away if you experience any of the following after your lipoma treatment surgery:
Increased Redness or Swelling: If the area surrounding your surgery becomes increasingly red or swollen.
Unusual Discharge: Pus or an unusual discharge at your incision site.
Fever or Chills: This could be indicative of an infection.
Severe or Progressive Pain: A pain that does not even start showing improvement with the pain medication.
Follow-up Appointments
It is very vital to attend all the appointments scheduled by your surgeon for follow-up. Your surgeon can monitor the progression of healing, remove sutures, and clarify any other concerns you might have on these visits. If at any time you develop a symptom that does not look normal or have a concern between visits, you should immediately inform your surgeon.
Long-term Healing and Support
Most patients recover completely within a few weeks. Here are some tips to ensure smooth long-term recovery:
Scar Care: You will most likely develop a scar from the incision. You can minimize the scarring by keeping the area moist and protected from the sun. Over-the-counter scar treatments or silicone gel sheets can be helpful.
Healthy Lifestyle: A healthy lifestyle might prevent new lipomas from forming. Healthy habits include regular exercise, a good diet, and abstinence from excessive alcohol drinking.
Follow-Up Visits: Even after the patient has completely recovered, it is prudent to keep follow-up appointments with the doctor to monitor for any new lipomas or other pathology.

Dermal Fillers | Injectable Facial Fillers | Skin Fillers
Dermal fillers are used in aesthetic treatments to address the loss of volume in your skin, to fill wrinkles, or to plump a certain part of your face, such as the lips. They are composed of hyaluronic acid, a carbohydrate (sugar derivative) that develops naturally throughout the body. Hyaluronic acid stimulates collagen and other skin matrix components to improve skin elasticity and hydration in addition to improving volume. At the Ottawa Derm Centre, we use a variety of dermal fillers to address each patients’ aesthetic goals.
Who is an ideal candidate for dermal fillers?
Individuals looking to soften the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and sunken areas on the face can benefit from dermal fillers, as well as those looking to plump up a certain part of their face. It is a great option for those looking for subtle improvements without undergoing surgery or experiencing any downtime.
In consultation with one of our specialists, we will determine whether you are a suitable candidate for dermal filler. This will depend on your treatment goals, coupled with your age, skin quality and condition, and genetics. Women who are pregnant or breast feeding should postpone this treatment.
How do I prepare for a dermal filler treatment?
Approximately 7-10 days before your treatment, you should avoid blood thinning over-the-counter medications such as aspirin, Motrin, ibuprofen, and Aleve. You should also avoid such supplements as St. John’s Wort, Gingko Biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, and Vitamin E during that time. Other products to avoid include topical applications such as tretinoin, retinol, retinoids, glycolic acid, or any anti-aging products. You should also avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or any other hair removal. Do not drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours prior. You should arrive at the clinic with a clean face, without any makeup.Visit Type- Choose - Botox on Demand Cosmetic Consultation Cosmetic Consultation w/Dermatologist Cosmetic Consultation w/Dermatologist & Surgeon Cosmetic Consultation w/Surgeon Cosmetic Consultation w/Surgeon & Aesthetician Cosmetic Treatment - Existing Patients Massage Therapy w/ RMT ODC Acne Solution ODC Customized Facials / Peels Visit Reason- Choose - Acne (Mild to Moderate) - Skin Care / Laser Treatment Acne Scarring - Laser Treatment Age Spot / Sun Spot Removal All Inclusive Rejuvenation Benign Mole Removal Body Contouring / Coolsculpting Botox / Filler & Other Injectables Botox for Sweating - Underarms, Hands and Feet Brown Tones / Pigment Treatment Cherry Angioma - Laser Treatment Cyst Removal (Excluding Face & Neck) Cyst Removal (Face & Neck Only) Facial Sagging Skin / Volume Loss Treatment Facial Veins Hyperpigmentation - Laser Treatment Improving Fine Lines & Wrinkles Laser Hair Removal Lipoma Removal Melasma - Skin Care / Laser Treatment Milia Removal Red Tones / Redness Treatment Reducing Pores and Improving Texture Rosacea - Skin Care / Laser Treatment Scar Treatment (Excluding Keloids) Scar Treatment (Including Keloids) Sclerotherapy ( Spider Veins on Legs ) Skin Care / Skin Quality Treatment Skin Smoothing Skin Tag Removal Stretch Marks - Laser Treatment Sun Damage - Skin Care / Laser Treatment Tattoo Removal Vascular Lesion - Laser Treatment Venous Lake - Laser Treatment Want to Learn More - BBL Treatment Want to Learn More - Clear and Brilliant Treatment Want to Learn More - Co2 Resurfacing Want to Learn More - Coolsculpting Want to Learn More - Halo Hybrid Fractional Treatment Want to Learn More - Moxi Treatment Want to Learn More - Nano Peel Treatment Want to Learn More - Opus Treatment Want to Learn More - PDL Vbeam Treatment Want to Learn More - Photorejuvenation Want to Learn More - PicoWay Treatment Want to Learn More - Secret RF Treatment Want to Learn More - SkinTyte Treatment Want to Learn More - Thermage Treatment Want to Learn More - Ultherapy Treatment Women's Health Vaginal Rejuvenation - Intima Laser Treatment

Is there any downtime with a dermal filler?
Most patients return to their regular activities immediately following their treatment. Some patients may experience temporary redness, bruising or minor swelling of the treated area in the first 24 to 48 hours following the treatment. It may be recommended to avoid physical exercise for the first 24 hours post treatment.
How does it feel?
Each patient will require different amounts of the product to obtain their ideal and natural results. Before your treatment, the targeted area will be cleaned, and a topical numbing cream may be applied to ensure your comfort. A small syringe will be used to inject a precise amount of filler beneath the skin. The injection itself feels kind of like a splinter, but if it’s done properly, the pain should go away right away. The lips may swell a little for a few hours after the procedure. It can feel a bit unsettling, but it should never be painful.
How long does a treatment take?
Your dermal filler procedure can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. This will depend on the area being treated, and the amount of filler required. If a topical numbing cream is used, you will need to wait approximately an hour for it to settle before the treatment can commence.
When will I notice results?
You will see a visible result immediately after injection. It may take up to 4 weeks for the filler to fully integrate into the tissue. We advise our patients to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated after treatment, as hyaluronic-based fillers are water-binding. Results may last anywhere from 6-18 months depending on the type and amount of filler used.
How much is a dermal filler?
At ODC we charge $750 per syringe.
How do I book a treatment?
All our patients start with a thorough consultation. During your visit, we will discuss your objectives and concerns. Our team of professionals will complete an assessment and make recommendations that support your health and well-being. If you are deemed a good candidate, we will be able to book your dermal filler treatment.

My moms having surgery today so im obvs stressed about that and then i also have an appt with my pcp this afternoon and i am going to beg him for imaging over a thing i am concerned about because i want to have the imaging done before my gastro appt because when i see her i want to ne able to say "heres the results where do we go from here" rather than ask her for the imaging and then wait another 3+ months to see her to talk about the results because at this point the pain is so bad and so frequent im convinced its not just a harmless little thing that she said it was without even feeling it* and im just so tired of it and want to know what it is and how to make it better
* more like not remembering what it felt like because she 100% felt it on the first appointment and then said we would ct it (which showed nothing???) But she wrote in her notes she didnt feel it and so at the next appointment when i asked what she thought it could be she was like its probably a lipoma and based it off of description only because she made no effort to refeel it or anything and everyone who has felt it is pretty sure its not a lipoma and also it doesnt even fit the fucking characteristics of a lipoma in the first place

Modern-medical practices in a world filled with undead monsters such as ghouls and vampires, but also fantasy races
Cancer treatments:
Any surgery would systematically be performed before radio or chemotherapy, since a lot of ghouls and vampires would probably want to eat the tumor. Although, depending on how advanced the cancer is, performing surgery without anasthesia might kill the patient, and the stress would probably exacerbate cancer cell growth, although benine tumors are operated on through hypnosis whenever possible. When leucemia requires blood letting, it is always performed whenver possible prior to other forms of medicinal treatments...A lot of vampires and ghouls are immune to many toxins, the bio waste produced by the cancer cells would be harmless to them. Alcoloid-based chemotherapy would generally be avoided, as most fantasy races have a high tolerence to them, and that tolerance often applies to their cancer unless the rapid mutation makes it magically loose it's immunity to said alcoloid. For a strange reason, elves are hyper-sensitive to caffeine, and a small square of chocolate contains enough of it to kill a healthy adult elf. Catpeople would react even more poorly to the caffeine, just as other felines. Since it strongly fasten their heartbeat, it's generally not used in medicine, and is so harmful hospitals which catter to a variety of fantasy races as patients outright ban anything containing caffeine.
Lipomas and cysts:
Because a world filled with undeads must somehow be accomodated, most of these would be performed on cardiacally young and healthy patients without anaesthesia, but hypnosis would probably be used as a substitute.
Necrotic tissue:
Ghouls feed on decaying flesh. Hyponosis would be systematically as a pain-supressing treatment, especially elven-type hypnosis.

Should You Worry About Lipomas? Are they Dangerous?
Have you ever noticed a sudden lump on your skin and felt a surge of worry, wondering if it could be cancer? It’s a natural reaction, but before you let your mind run wild with fear, it’s crucial to understand that not all lumps are a cause for alarm.
One common type of lump is called a lipoma. But what exactly are lipomas, and are they dangerous? One of the leading laparoscopic surgeons in India for lipoma, Dr Amita Jain explains all about Lipomas in this article.
What is a Lipoma?
A lipoma is a slow-growing, typically non-cancerous lump of fatty tissue that develops beneath the skin and sometimes extends into the underlying muscle layer. These lumps are usually round or oval-shaped and can be easily moved around under the skin, often without causing pain.
While they can appear anywhere on the body, they are commonly found on…

Vent Post! This doesn’t totally relate to what this blog is about so feel free to scroll. I just had to put these thoughts out there on an account my friends don’t follow.
I feel like this entire week has been shit. Last week was my spring break, which I did nothing for because my pain was so bad I could hardly move.
My last day of spring break (Sunday) my partner breaks up with me.
Tuesday I find out that one of my favorite professors has passed away unexpectedly due to surgery complications.
Wednesday my best friend confessed her feelings for me, which you would think is a good thing but I only see her as a sister, and I feel like shit for not being able to reciprocate the feelings.
My parents are going away for the weekend which means that I was going to be alone upstairs, a rare occurrence in my full house, and I’ve been looking forward to just taking this weekend to sit on the couch and literally just get out of my bed, but SURPRISE! My oldest sister who recently moved out is going to be spending the weekend here because my 18 year old sister doesn’t want to be in the house without her dad (because, you know, having her 22 year old sister in the room next door wasn’t good enough) and guess where her room was before she moved :). So now I’m once again confined to my bed while she sits in the living room upstairs and blasts the tv.
I just want to enjoy myself for one day. I can’t even go anywhere. The only free place is the park, and I’m not well enough to walk around like that. I can’t even treat myself out to breakfast or anything, I’m completely broke. I’m on a medical hiatus from work so I’ve been surviving on my savings and my mother has been helping me with gas and some of my groceries. I was supposed to get a $1,200 tax return but my mother told me yesterday that she wants all the money from that since she’s been helping me with my financial situation. I do appreciate her help, but I’ve been looking forward to having that money so maybe I could actually do something again.
But I can’t! My chronic pain and illnesses have completely taken over my life. I’ve barely seen my friends this semester because of how often I go home sick, and my moms been getting on my case about me missing classes as if I’m ditching them for a party or something instead of writhing in pain on my bed. I was trying to catch up with my friends this past week and I realized just how much I’ve been missing. It’s my fear coming true that my illnesses would lead to me falling out of my friends lives. I try to talk to them but when you’re not there for multiple major events it starts to add up.
And my family is once again back to dismissing my pain! I have a high drug tolerance and a long history of drugs becoming less effective very rapidly, and I told her that I think I’m at this point with one of my pain medications despite the dosage being increased. I feel like my back pain is also being dismissed by her because she just restates that I’ll be getting my epidural injection. Which I am excited for! But one injection may not even do much, and even though it will help temporarily it will likely make my spinal epidural lipomatosis worse because there’s a strong correlation between the condition and increased levels of steroids in the body, and the injection is literally putting steroids into the spot with the lipomas. And again I’m excited for getting pain relief from the injection, but it’s not a cure. There is no cure for how rapidly my spine is degenerating, and no one lets me talk about it, and they all want to act like it’s not a problem that in five years it’s progressed so much that I can barely walk. And they still haven’t figured out my joint pain!
I try to talk to my friends about some of this stuff but one of my best friends just wants to offer solutions, which I appreciate but again it’s not like it can just be magically cured in some fantastical way. And my other best friend just can’t devote any time to me right now. They’re in a weird spot where their two year relationship with their partner might be ending, and that’s all he can focus on right now. I love them but when I went to their dorm to talk about how I was grieving my professor, he just wanted to talk about his relationship.
I’ve got other friends but they all have their own stuff going on and it’s not like they can do anything about these problems. I’m in a theater group with many of my friends and that typically brings me a lot of joy but it’s such a mess right now. The show is going to be exactly one month from our first table reading, and we’re still missing two actors to play supporting roles. I have no clue how they think they’re going to pull this together in a month, considering we had two months last year and some people still didn’t know their lines the day of the show. And this one involves much more choreography than the last one. Even if rehearsals run smooth, I don’t know how many days I’m even going to survive being there. Im doing observation hours for teaching so I’m at the school at 7am, and rehearsals aren’t set to start until sometime after 5:30pm, we don’t know the exact time yet. If it’s like last year it will be 7pm when it starts, which means I’ll be having 14-15 hour days where I constantly feel sick or pained.
Im just so tired of feeling like the bad things continue to get worse, and the little things I try to look forward to seem to get spoiled in some ways. I have to keep reminding myself of my goals for the future but it’s so hard when everyone says how miserable it is being a teacher, and when I think about the fact that I could lose my mobility within ten years.
Im losing my ability to walk, I lost my partner, I lost my professor, I lost my money, I lost a chance to sit in my own fucking living room for once. I’ve lost time with my friends, may lose this show if theater can’t pull itself together, I’m so tired of losing.
But anyway that’s my vent.

Understanding Lipoma Surgery and Factors Influencing its Cost
Lipomas are benign soft tissue tumors formed of matured fat cells and are located underneath the skin. Although they are generally harmless, an individual may find them annoying in case there is a considerable increase in size, pain or if it affects the appearance of a person. In such situations, patients tend to consult with lipoma specialist doctor. At Smart Surgeon Clinic, qualified doctors provide treatment of lipomas at affordable prices.
What do Lipoma Specialist Doctors do?
A lipoma specialist doctor is a practicing physician, most commonly a dermatologist, plastic surgeon, or general surgeon who specializes in the diagnosis and management of lipoma. They have different passive and invasive methods for evaluating and excising the lipomas, depending on the size, location and number of lipomas.
They remove lipomas through various surgical techniques with minimum scar formation and maximization of patient comfort. The main objective of such specialists is to extract as much of the lipoma as possible without affecting the surrounding tissue.
It goes without saying that a lipoma surgery specialist cannot be looked at as solely a surgeon who performs operations. Such a doctor does a thorough work-up to ascertain whether the lipoma requires resection or not. However, in some cases, additional diagnostic procedures, such as ultrasound or MRI may be performed to confirm the benign nature of the lipoma.
In case you are troubled by lipomas of the body, particularly if they are enlarging or painful, it is important to consult with a lipoma specialist to manage that safely.
Treatment Options
The methods of lipoma surgery specialists vary with the requirements of the client, which may include the following:
Surgical Excision: This is the most typical course of action where the lipoma is removed surgically under local or general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. This is uncomplicated and so the duration for recovery is fairly short.
Liposuction: Whenever the lipoma is rather small and located in a delicate site that may not take kindly to incision, liposuction perhaps may be employed. One benefit of this approach is that the scar is smaller than that seen in other surgical procedures.
Minimal Incision Extraction: Certain surgeons remove lipomas with ill-defined cuts and little scarring. This method is especially popular for parts of the body like the face, or arms that are more exposed to the eyes.
So if you are someone facing lipoma issues, consult experienced lipoma specialist doctors at Smart Surgeon Clinic.
Factors That Influence Lipoma Surgery Costs
Lipoma surgery is often associated with a number of factors. The lipoma surgery price in India ranges widely from INR 15,000 to INR 1 lakh, however, many aspects come into play, including the level of healthcare facility (clinic or hospital), the qualification of the operating surgeon, and of course, the degree of the surgical operation. Smart Surgeons is a cost-effective clinic providing lipoma removal at less than INR 15,000. Some factors that influence the Lipoma Surgery cost are-
Surgeon’s Fee: The experience and expertise of the surgeon is among the leading contributors of the cost. Surgeons trained in cosmetic surgery or plastic surgery usually command higher fees on account of their ability to minimize scarring and enhance the cosmetic appeal.
Staff Costs: The nursing staff, anesthesiologist and other medical personnel who participate in the surgical procedure comes under this. The costs associated with these parameters will vary depending on how complicated the procedure is and the amount of service rendered.
Material Costs: Apart from the labor fees, material cost has also been identified as one of the significant factors contributing to the cost which includes surgical sutures, anesthesia material, and sterilization supplies. These materials are used to promote safe and effective procedures.
Overhead: Costs associated with operating facilities, or the expenses incurred to provide surgical services, for example, operating the rooms. Overhead also includes utility expenses, equipment repair, rent and so on, especially in metropolitan hospitals with premium rent charges.
Other Costs: Expenses associated with preoperative evaluation tests and examinations, moving etc. are sometimes costly.
Shifting to clinic-based service provision as opposed to large hospital setups can assist in curbing these expenses. Clinics incur less overhead costs and therefore they are in position to give more attention to patients even for less serious cases like surgical excision of lipoma
Smart Surgeons, as an example, concentrate on minor surgeries that are done in just 30 minutes; thus, it can lower some operational costs and offer quick recovery to the patients. In addition, there are no hidden charges thus it is cost-effective for patients with a number of lipomas.
