#kagarts #rival silver #trainer kris #trainer ethan #trainer lyra #johto #pokemon gsc #pokemon hgss #I think it’s fascinating seeing so many interpretations of this bunch #on who is champion or what each of them do in postgame/timeskip scenarios #it’s really cool seeing so many variations of each like. hell yeah man #here’s a lot of factoids on designs sorry for the wall of text in advaaaaaance #lance picked silver’s main cape color and chose white so he would appear less intimidating and approachable when teaching kids about dragons #lugia matchy too for that dragon connection there #kris’ gear revolves around biking and the lil tassles were an attempt at suicune ribbons #she has aspects from all the lion dogs in her full fit (she gets a helmet and jet/boostpack)#channeling kamen rider and bomb rush cyberfunk/jet set radio to give her a more future vibe #ethan I personally wanted to channel the ken sugimori chill vibe of how he was drawn #very old school (college fit); with a bit of early age grunge #friend to all birds and does a bit of nature/wildlife photography (based on the hgss picture taking feature!)#also loves the pokeathlon #he gets a ho-oh pattern/colorset for his tracksuit #lyra in this interpretation is the champion and got to battle red #protag to protag communication happened and she wants to set a better example for trainers going forward #a great teacher who wants to encourage the next set of trainers to set out on their own journeys #she’ll be the champion until she has to pass that torch on #but she also cares for the ilex shrine as per family tradition (even taking that with her into her champion outfit! celebi dresssss :D)

#ft my poorly drawn monstera leaves for vibe #I was thinking abt shinx and luxray like. I know theyre supposed to be lions but I feel like cheetah or serval would work well too #like with electricity and stuff. wouldnt speed and agility make more sense for an electric type? esp a cat shaped electric type?#maybe it would be ok for luxray to be heavy built because itd be really big by then. but I thought hey it would be cool if its preevolutions #could focus on speed for escaping. escaping and hunting yknow #maybe this is just because I watched a cheetah documentary last night and thought they were cool #I also have a hc that luxray can charge up electricity and make its whole body glow like an x ray #like you can see it’s bones through the blue parts of skin. either as a threat display or courtship #the shinier and bluer the fur is the better you can see the bones. which would mean its feeding itself well #but Im not a biology expert Im just using what I learned from birds LOL #so sososo normal abt luxray line (is my favorite pokemon)#my art #myart #pokemon #illustration #shinx #Luxio #luxray #luxray line

since i've had my fun with some other projects (including a little mobile Pokédex i'll put here in time) i've continued work on Mons v. Lions and here's some notable things

Lion Moveset

- Rest, Crunch & Hidden Power

+ Thunder Fang, Extreme Speed & Psychic Fangs

Fixes and Implementations

○ Lions no longer receive STAB on Normal-type moves

○ Lions lost 30 SpDef and gained 10 Speed (they speed tie Garchomp now)

○ Win count implemented - see how many lions a specific Pokémon has KO'd in a test

○ UI shuffled around to increase space for battle log and win count

Key Threats

Lions

...they're all the same lmao

Pokémon

- Anything with Curse, Coil, Iron Defense & the like boost incredibly quickly: shoutout Dunsparce for having Coil & Roost at Lv50 and Scizor for Iron Defense, Swords Dance and resistances to Normal & Psychic

- Gen 1's Rock/Grounds have done well - only being hit neutral by Psychic Fangs'll do that to ya

Pokémon win against a billion lions because a billion lions is unsustainable, and multiple pokémon can escape by flying, digging, surfing, and/or teleporting, at which point they can wait out the lions.
