At the lake scene for closure, Wille asks Simon what happened to make him want to break up because he doesn't fully understand, but Simon doesn't want to talk about it. One, I think it hurts Simon to think about what led up to his decision, but two: talking about it explicitly might mean having to talk about the toxic pressure being Crown Prince has on Wille.
I theorise that Simon didn't want to further influence Wille's ideas about the role and duty to the monarchy. It's why he specifically asks Wille in the road scene, "Did you do it for my sake?" He does not want Wille to change his life for him. He is all about self-actualization and free choice.
I am very sure that their break-up will come up in further conversations or arguments they have down the road.

Brother's Keeper I - Family Stakes
So I've got a two-part fic wherein my OC's are being not very nice ^^" This happens after Calarphain's death, during the arc where Linnéa finds out that her younger brother Laerlas is working for the bad guys now, infiltrated Rivendell in the past, and became the reason Celebrían got captured.
Summary: After learning that Linnéa's younger brother had a hand in Celebrían's capture, Elrond and sons seek her help to take him down. However, her aid doesn't come easy. Relationships: Lanthir/Linnéa
“The sons of Elrond are asking you to cooperate. Their cause is just, I don’t understand why you won’t help them.”
The Ranger, Lanthir, paced around the room, not understanding why his companion wouldn’t just do the decent thing. The family of Elrond were an honorable clan, longtime allies of the Dúnedain. They made it their mission to protect Middle Earth from the ever-present darkness, and all they got for it was tragedy.
Now justice lay in Linnéa’s hands.
“I have a personal stake in this matter,” was her reply.
“A personal stake?” Lanthir crossed his arms. “What kind?”
Linnéa took her time responding, her furrowed brows the only sign of an internal debate. Lanthir was about to ask again when she answered, “The family kind. Laerlas is my brother.”
Tentatively, Lanthir clarified, “You were raised by Elves?
“I am half-Elf. From my father.”
Lanthir could only nod, trying to come to terms with this. Half-elves weren’t unheard of, but the ones he knew looked like Elves. Linnéa looked human. But then again, it was exactly like the enigma he met in Fornost to have some kind of hidden heritage.
“I suppose you take more after your mother, then.”
“I don’t.” Linnéa shifted in her seat, resting her arms on the table. Though typically composed, she slumped forward. “Before this, I worked for the Elves of Mirkwood, spying on their neighbors, that’s how I met Fíli. My brother infiltrated Rivendell as a traveler, that’s how he got Celebrían. My father worked with Mirkwood before I did, and I found out that even Ages ago, he did similar work for another clan. It resulted in a lot of bloodshed, from what I’m told. Deceit runs in the family. I wonder what else does?”
Lanthir moved off the wall and knelt before her, fixing her with a piercing gaze. He still had to process the mountain of information she let loose– how long her family has been around, how long she has been around– but he knew one thing for certain:
“Don’t… don’t think about that,” he pressed. “I don’t know your father nor brother, I don’t know why they did those things, but the way I see it, what matters right now is what you are going to do.”
He reached for her hand, pleading as best as he could on behalf of Elrond’s family, and for Linnéa’s own sake as well. By now, he knew her long enough to be well-acquainted with the types of decisions she struggled with.
“You have a chance to fix what your brother destroyed. You can give a family closure, deal a blow to the Enemy, even stop the darkness from further corrupting this land.”
Linnéa looked down at their entwined hands. Though her face betrayed no emotion, there was a softness in her gaze. “I have family, too, Lanthir. He’s my brother. This doesn’t come easy to me.” Her eyelashes fluttered as she thought her options through.
“If I do this, it will come at a price.” Linnéa pulled away, and Lanthir watched her stone-gray eyes harden once more. “And I need to see what they’re willing to pay.”
#tolkien ocs#oc stuff#linnea (oc)#lanthir (oc)#my fics#I haven't really gone into it yet here mostly cus I don't have that much details#initially Salabor (Linnéa's dad) was supposed to be a Silvan elf from the Greenwood#but as her story developed it hit me: what if that wasn't the case after all?#What if in fact he was actually a Feanorian spy who spied on the Sindar at Doriath way back in the First Age?#what if he was an accessory to the kinslayings who eventually got caught by Oropher and was forced into his service?#what if he struggled with a lot of fear guilt and shame? it would totally make sense why he was absent for most of Linnéa's life#and why he would disappear later on. basically it would explain why he's so sketchy and mysterious#and it explains why he couldn't just leave his post and why he kept his family a secret and why Dinentir eventually treated Linnéa so badly#it's something that gives Linnéa a harder time given all the people he screwed over#and it's a nice little parallel when she starts to make the same mistakes

Chosen Ones:
They're witches ! Chosen ones !
Librarians:
Imagine a magic library appoints some guy to be its keeper, then after a while realises the task has made him a strange and lonely man whose only friend is a sentient sword. Aiming to fix this, the library appoints a gaggle of likeminded yet very different people for him to interact with. The cast consists of: Flynn Carsen, the afformented man whose best friend is a sword and who thinks a day without an Indiana Jones style adventure is a day wasted. Eve Baird, a woman raised to be a soldier suddenly thrown into a world of wonder, magic and dangers she knows nothing of, now tasked with keeping 4 eccentric, genius minds from being killed by their curiosity. Cassandra Cillian, a math whiz genius who's lived an isolated life from being put on a pedestal as a child, who has since been diagnosed with brain cancer and is desperately trying to live life to the fullest for as long as she can. Dresses like Ms. Frizzle. Jacob Stone, yeehaw cowboy dude who publishes his groundbreaking art and architecture history papers under a pen name because he knows his yeehaw cowboy family wouldn't approve. He's got the brains AND brawn. Ezekiel Jones, Australian techie and professional thief. The guy lived the Carmen Sandiego life before being recruited. Tries to act tough and morally grey but is genuinely the least selfish out of them all. Youngest Sibling Vibes are Off the Chart. Jenkins aka. the actual sir. Galahad from the Arthurian legend is here also. He's just some grumpy immortal grandpa don't worry about it. They're all just a bunch of nerdy adults who didn't have any friends or loving families growing up who find themselves living the life they dreamed about as children and it doesn't take long for them to consider each other, and the library, home.

Linnéa said that she told Lisa before they made season 3 that, as they were sending these characters off into the rest of their lives, she was interested in who they were going to become as people. They both wanted to delve deeper into who they were.
So it would seem that by putting all five of them through the conflicts and consequences of all their secrets being out in the open, their true characters and how they problem solve would come to the fore. This would then give us an idea of how they would manage and choose to respond to adversity in the future. Their strength of character was tested in the last season, and I would say that all five of them rose to the challenge.
August's I find interesting. He is having to reckon with who he is viewed as by the outside world, and he does not like the legacy he is leaving behind. It's interesting that the first people whose opinions of him he cares about are Wille and Simon. I guess no one likes to be viewed as a shitty person, and hearing Simon's mum shouting that he ruined her son's life must make him realise that he did a really awful thing, even if he doesn't care about Simon as a person. He cares about what that says about him as a person IN FRONT of the Royal Family.
Though Nils and Vincent laugh at his loss of agency and ability to party hard and live a life of Riley, August has never been a 'party prince'. He often sits in the society room at parties and has to put on a smirking mask to be amongst his partying peers. He takes the Society and brotherhood very seriously and doesn't like Wille belittling it and everyone's status at the drinking and drugs party.
But he is eager for his life to mean something. He's an overachiever at school, a natural leader. He remembers important people's names and is good at networking at public events. He is completely at ease in a public role. He is eager to please authority figures and is good at liasing conflict and seeing the bigger picture.
Whether Sara has helped him view his elitism in a different way is maybe still a question. He is more aware when side-eying the class import signifier that Vincent asks him to vote on. He has been made aware and has fully sat in the consequences of his actions. He's been lucky to get away with them, and I think he is taking his second chance seriously. I get the sense that he would take the Crown Prince role very seriously and be one that the Royal Court would love. He would totally uphold the nobility and be duty bound. He has become aware of his eating disorder, been validated that what was done to him in the first year was not okay, and he is more open to talking with a therapist. His future seems quite hopeful. He has, however, lost someone who he truly loved and who loved him for himself. I picture him thinking about Sara whenever he takes Rousseau out for a ride and treats that horse impeccably, the way Sara would have.

Ottawa, Illinois — At 104 years old, Dorothy Hoffner fell.
Then she kept falling, and falling, and falling. And when the lifelong Chicagoan finally touched the ground Sunday, she landed in the history books and became the oldest person to ever sky-dive.
“Age is just a number,” Hoffner told a cheering crowd moments after touching the ground at the Skydive Chicago Airport in Ottawa.
As the centenarian prepped to board the white Skyvan plane, she slowly pushed her red walker out into the skydiving resort’s hangar.
She took off her light blue cardigan and lifted her black loafers a few inches off the ground one at a time to work her way into a harness.
She declined a jumpsuit but accepted an altimeter.
She left the walker just short of the plane, where two expert instructors helped her up the steps into the hold.
“Let’s go, let’s go, Geronimo!” she said, finally seated.
The plane quickly rose, Hoffner all the while looking calm and confident. She was the only passenger not wearing ear plugs as the propellers loudly buzzed.
When the aft door opened to reveal tan crop fields far below, she and the U.S. Parachute Association-certified instructor tethered to stand.
Hoffner insisted on leading the jump. When she first sky-dived at 100 years old, she was pushed out, she said. This time, she wanted to take charge.
She shuffled toward the edge and leaped into the air.
The plane beat her to the ground. Seven minutes after her jump, she drifted in for her historic landing.
The wind pushed back her white hair. She clung to the harness draped over her narrow shoulders, a look of excitement and wonder spread across her face.
She picked up her legs as the ground approached. And finally, she plopped onto the ground.
The crowd gathered along the skydiving resort’s landing strip roared. Friends rushed to share congratulations.
Someone brought over Hoffner’s red walker. She rose fast, and a reporter asked how it felt to be back on the ground.
“Wonderful,” Hoffner said. “But it was wonderful up there.”
“The whole thing was delightful, wonderful, couldn’t have been better,” she said.
Her mind quickly turned to the future. She might ride in a hot-air balloon next, she said.
“I’ve never been in one of those,” Hoffner said.
The Guinness World Record for oldest skydiver was set in May 2022 by 103-year-old Linnéa Ingegärd Larsson from Sweden.
Hoffner’s record has yet to be certified. The Chicago senior is set to turn 105 in December.
She answered quickly when asked what it feels like to hold the age-based record.
“Like I’m old,” she said.
But the record didn’t seem to interest Hoffner ahead of her attempt to break it.
Before her jump — originally scheduled for early September and delayed three times because of bad weather — her mind was focused instead on the peaceful descent through the sky, she told the Tribune last month.
She first tried skydiving at 100, when her dear friend Joe Conant of Andersonville told her he was planning to sky-dive.
She wanted to join, she told him, because “it sounded interesting.” It became one of her favorite experiences.
“Floating down, it’s so smooth,” she said.
She encouraged everyone to try skydiving and has advice for those who want to give it a try.
“When you’re coming down, make sure you’ve got someone with you. That’s the important thing,” she said.
“I often thought, if I were to do this alone, I would pray when I pulled the parachute cord,” she continued.
“If you pulled it too soon and got caught on the plane, then what would you do when you got caught on the plane? How could they land that plane with you hanging on it?”
The 104-year-old has spent her whole life in Chicago. She was raised in Garfield Park, where she lived for 50 years before moving to Jefferson Park.
She has spent the last decade at the Brookdale Lake View senior living community. She raves about the facility’s three daily meals.
She worked for Illinois Bell throughout her working years, beginning in 1938 as an operator, she said.
She never had any husbands or children — an essential ingredient she in part credits for her long life.
Hoffner, who describes herself as an “unclaimed treasure, never had to deal with the responsibility of kids," she said.
“Or the pettiness and the mess of a husband,” she said. “I never had to take care of anyone but me.”
The biggest secret to her old age and health is her God, who has been very good to her, she said.
“He kept me really going. I can’t say that I’ve ever had any real terrible pain,” she said. “My life has been very dull.”
She wasn’t much of an adventure-seeker for most of her life. For fun, she’d go out for a weekly lunch with two girlfriends.
Sometimes, they’d visit the Garfield Park Conservatory. She traveled too — to England, Panama, Italy twice and France.
She’s filled her life with chosen “grandkids,” including Conant.
The two met when Conant worked as a caretaker for one of Hoffner’s friends.
Though the friend has since died, Conant and Hoffner still talk daily and share dinner every week.
It was Hoffner’s idea to jump again this year, said Conant, who jumped right after Hoffner and landed before her.
She clutched his hand as their plane rose. The wind caught their feet when they leaped from around 13,500 feet and pushed them into a backflip, he said.
“She’s just a great friend,” Conant said on the ground. “I’m incredibly proud of her.”
Hoffner strongly encourages others to sky-dive like her. "It’s surprisingly affordable and so peaceful.”
But she isn’t sure she’ll do it again. She doesn’t know what the future holds, she said.
