I haven't been able to read fantasy in months... I started this one and was shocked to see I couldn't put it down! This is easily one of my favorite reads so far this year. This story had everything I love: adventure, quirky banter, and a slow-burn relationship that I was 100% on board with! I truly loved everything about this story, and Elise's writing style was such an added bonus. There isn't a single thing I would change about this story. Though this cover is what first caught my eye, the story is just as gorgeous. "Cinderella meets The Cruel Prince" is the perfect way to describe this story. If you're at all intrigued by my review (albeit vague, totally on purpose), please do yourself a favor and read this one! [author collab] 💬 If you were to give a brand new dating couple a bit of relationship advice, what would you tell them? Today I’ve teamed up with Guy Blaise (@the_french_perspective) to share his newest book, Love Like the French, with you! This was such a interesting read! It’s written as a series of letters that were sent to Guy asking for relationship advice, ranging from whether or not to leave a troubled relationship, down to intimate questions in the bedroom, and Guy’s responses to those questions. He shares a lot of his own experiences, including serious topics like racism and pushing relationship boundaries. I didn’t realize prior to reading this book how different relationships were viewed in France versus here in the US. This is definitely a book I’d recommend checking out if you’re into non-fiction. There were quite a few times that I laughed out loud too. 💬 Do you enjoy watching crime dramas or documentaries on @netflix? . Watching crime shows has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. I recently finished reading Murder Board by @brianchristophershea and it definitely made me ready to watch one again. This procedural crime novel was fantastic and reminded me of why I love this genre so much. If you’re a fan of James Patterson and Michael Connelly, you will love this one! . If you have a law enforcement officer in your life (spouse, sibling, friend, etc.) and you’d like to learn more about what they go through mentally and emotionally on the job, I’d recommend reading Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement by Kevin M. Gilmartin.
