Into i need help. I bought a oculus quest 2 right and i tried to connect it to my laptop and it wont work so I realized i needed and actual pc gaming setup you know, problem is idk anything about PCs and i dont wanna get scammed. Can you help me? Ive looked online and idk wtf im looking at tbh. Can you give like advice and shit lol 😂 love you into 💕

well i'm not a professional at pcs by any means but i've always had a huge fixation on them so i can try to help as much as possible and i'll even try to put it in simple terms. fair warning, i talk A LOT in this post because i love rambling about computers :') i tried to use the simplest terms possible since you seem confused but if something doesn't make sense just ask and i can try to reword.

it all depends on what you want out of your pc. and do you want to build one or get a prebuilt one? if you want my advice i recommend building one. getting a prebuilt pc is the easiest way to get scammed because retailers tend to overcharge and they think they can get away with it because they stuck a flashy high end graphics card and colourful lights in it even though it has shit airflow and they cheaped out on the motherboard and power supply or something like that. if you're going to get a prebuilt pc make sure you look at allll the specs and consult some online reviews to see if they're any good, and figure out if you're going to be overcharged. now i'll talk about building one. a lot of this will still be useful if you're considering buying a prebuilt though.

the very first step is deciding your budget. idk where you are but in USD the typical amount to spend on pc parts is i think like $1000 - 1500 (you can spend less but that's if you don't have a lot of money to spend and are still desperate to have a gaming pc). i'm spending around $1700 CAD (before taxes, eugh) on mine bc i want to get into more demanding games eventually. it sounds very costly but computers like these can last you a decade and are very multifaceted. figuring out your budget first instead of going right ahead and buying stuff is important because each component should take up specific percentages of your budget. another important thing to consider when deciding your budget is if you want RGB (the colourful lights as previously mentioned), because components with that capability are slightly more expensive.

after deciding your budget, your first move is deciding what graphics card (GPU) you want. the GPU is responsible for processing and presenting the visuals on your screen. theoretically it should take up between 35 - 40% of your budget because it is the powerhouse in a gaming system. you have two developers to choose from here: NVIDIA or AMD. from what i've seen people tend to prefer NVIDIA but AMD cards aren't bad and they definitely compete in performance. i'll talk about nvidia though because that's what i know more about. by searching up the oculus quest 2 system requirements it tells me you at least need an nvidia geforce gtx 970. this card came out in 2014 and is by no means bad however it is actually the same base price as a lot of newer cards. if you want to go better than the minimum requirements, first consider what your monitor is capable of. if you don't have one yet, consider what you want it to do. monitors are not considered a part of the budget i keep mentioning by the way. idk how much this matters to you since we're talking about the oculus quest 2 but i'm just kind of assuming you're going to use this pc for other games too. the main two things to take into consideration are max resolution and refresh rate. my monitor has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a 144hz refresh rate. what the resolution means is that there are 2,073,600 pixels in the screen, and can go up to a resolution of 1080p in video games. the refresh rate means the monitor can refresh the picture on the screen 144 times a second, therefore can show a max of 144 frames per second in a video game. to put that in to perspective, most screens have a refresh rate of 60hz, such as regular laptop screens, iphone screens, etc.. monitors come in mainly 60hz, 75hz, 144hz, and 165hz, and for resolution they mainly come in 1080p, 1440p, and 4k. seeing as i don't have any plans on upgrading my monitor any time soon, dropping extra money on a GPU that can achieve more than 144fps and 1440p/4k would be pointless. but forget about the monitor, the oculus quest 2 has a max refresh rate of 120hz and its resolution lies somewhere between 1080p and 1440p. if you know what kind of games you're going to be playing, look up how they perform with different kinds of cards. i'm fairly certain anything above an nvidia geforce rtx 3070 would be pointless because of your display limits, and anything below the nvidia geforce gtx 970 simply won't be enough for the system. you can look at all the GPUs ranked here. after deciding which GPU you want you need to figure out which brand of it you want (NVIDIA themselves, asus, gigabyte, evga, etc), because they all perform at slightly different levels, although the difference is usually only a few frames so it's better to save money. something to watch out for is the quality of the fans in the GPU because if they aren't good, it will overheat and underperform. i'm aiming to get a 3060 or 3060 ti, if that helps. the only problem is that there is currently a worldwide GPU shortage due to covid, tariffs, and the cryptocurrency mining boom (gpus are used in bulk to mine). fortunately there is currently a crypto mining crackdown happening in china, where majority of mining in the world happens, so the demand for GPUs will hopefully start going down soon. you wont be able to build your pc right away but the market is looking better than it has in awhile. this is just about the only argument i have in favor of getting a prebuilt pc, because they have GPUs in them and are more readily available. i don't think that's a good enough reason though especially since part of the reason i'm building my pc is because it looks fun lol. another thing to note is that you should not overspend on your GPU. the shortage has caused a lot of GPU prices to skyrocket into the $2k-3k range but none of them should be above 1k except the highest end ones. when deciding on a GPU, search up the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP). cards made by brands other than AMD and NVIDIA will almost always cost a little extra, but do not pay hundreds of

extra dollars. but anyways!! the GPU is now out of the way and is definitely the longest paragraph here because it's the most important part.

next up is the central processing unit (CPU), which you should be spending about 20 - 25% of your budget on. its job is essentially to retrieve instructions from the RAM and execute it. i suppose you could call it the brain. again you have two developers to choose from, this time between intel and AMD. i've had two laptops with an intel CPU and my current one has an AMD CPU and both are very good, however the general consensus is that you can get the same performance for less by going with AMD. CPUs have cores, and each core can run its own process. the more cores you have, the more your pc can think about basically. you can get CPUs will all sorts of amounts of cores but for gaming, 4 or 6 cores is all you really need. 8 is actually already a bit overkill. so you really don't need to get the best CPU out there. the one you get should depend on what GPU you get (hence choosing that component first). you don't want to bottleneck your GPU by getting a CPU that isn't good enough for it, but bottlenecking your CPU with the GPU by a small amount isn't as big of a deal because the goal is to allow your GPU to be used to its full ability. another detail about CPU is clock speed, which determines how quick it can complete tasks. the higher the faster, obviously. my (non gaming) laptop's CPU clock speed is 2.30 GHz and has 4 cores. the cpu i have for my build is the AMD ryzen 5 5600x. it has a base clock speed of 3.7 GHz but it can be maxed out to 4.6 GHz, and it has 6 cores. the oculus quest 2 has a minimum requirement of the AMD ryzen 5 1500x or the intel i5-4590, which is a little low on the performance list. but like i said the CPU should depend on the GPU. all it takes is a google search for which CPU goes best with the GPU you've chosen and you can find several answers depending on if you want the best possible performance, best budget performance, etc.. a nice little fact about choosing AMD over intel is that most AMD CPUs will come with a stock cooler, which is absolutely necessary otherwise your CPU will overheat (this is another thing prebuilts will cheap out on). this only adds to the whole price-to-performance thing. the stock cooler will most likely do unless you push your pc or want the build to look prettier.

next on the list is a motherboard, where all the parts come together in unity. you should spend 8 - 10% of your budget on this baby. it's easy to over and underspend on a mobo. the most important thing when it comes to choosing a mobo is that it supports your CPU. you cannot use the same mobo for intel and AMD CPUs. fortunately the product page will straight up tell you which CPU brand the mobo is meant for and will typically have two versions of the same board. it's important to note that motherboards don't always have onboard wifi, meaning it wont be able to connect to the internet via wifi and instead needs an ethernet cable or an external wifi adapter. if you can't get an ethernet cable to the room where you want your pc, you're going to need onboard wifi, or a wifi card/usb. onboard wifi mobos tend to be more expensive so it's up to you, but i personally bought one with wifi included so i wouldn't have to worry about it because our ethernet cables are in the basement and i'm upstairs. another very important thing about motherboards is that their BIOS version (operating system i guess?? idk how else to describe it) doesn't always support your CPU out of the box and must be updated before using it. this can present as a problem if you don't have another CPU to perform the update with, however some motherboards allow you to 'flash' the BIOS with a only usb drive as long as it's hooked up to power. there are plenty of step by step youtube videos about how to do this. i will have to do this with my motherboard when the time comes because it doesn't support ryzen 5s out of the box. don't let this deter you from getting a certain board as long as it has a BIOS flash feature. next up is what I/O ports you want, which are the ports (usb ports, headphone/mic jack, hdmi port, etc) you'd find on the back of any desktop computer. that is the side of the motherboard. basically just be aware of how many of each ports you want, and remember that there will probably be even more ports on the front of the case you get. the last thing i can think of right now is making sure your motherboard has all the headers (where you plug components in) you want it to have but i'll get to that later.

next up on the list is RAM, aka random access memory. this stores short term data. the amount of RAM you have kind of determines how much your pc can multitask. RAM sticks typically go up by some multiple of 2GB. most standard laptops and desktops nowadays will come with 8GB of RAM, which is enough for day to day use. it can be enough for mid and low end games however it cuts it pretty close most of the time. 16GB of RAM is the sweet spot for gaming and anything above that is pretty much overkill (and once again a waste of money) as long as you don't have a billion unnecessary background processes. a large amount of RAM is typically needed for video editors or computer programmers. you should always make sure your motherboard can support the amount of RAM you want although any good motherboard will support 64GB or even 128GB. the best option is to get a 16GB RAM pack, which will include two 8GB RAM sticks. splitting RAM between two sticks will increase efficiency. this is called dual channel. i also recommend getting DDR4 RAM, which is simply faster than DDR3. a good speed to have is around 3600 MHz. make sure your motherboard supports DDR4. you also want to be weary that your RAM is compatible with your CPU brand because they do have to interact for your pc to function.

next is storage. there are three-ish options here depending on how much you're willing to spend. generally you should spend 8 - 10% of the budget here. you can always get a good ole hard drive for the cheapest, however they are the slowest and physically biggest option, meaning whatever you put on it will take a bit longer for your pc to retrieve and open (they can load about 100-200MB of data per second). the next option is a solid state drive. they are a little more expensive but can load as much as 600MB of data per second and take up less space. the last and most efficient/expensive option is an m.2 nvme drive. these things are physically absolutely tiny and can load up to 4GB of data per second. anything you put on these will open very very quickly. the fairly standard solution for this is a combination of two of these three. personally i'm using one m.2 drive and one hard drive. the hard drive i have can store 2TB while the m.2 drive can only store 256GB. funnily enough these two drives are roughly the same price. the idea here is to install your operating system on the faster drive. this makes it so it only takes like 8 seconds tops for your pc to start up. you can also put any other programs you use most often on there (like your main browser and favourite games) and they will open very quickly, while the bulk of your games and other files will go on the bigger drive. that's all there really is to say for storage, just make sure the reviews are good on the drive you want to get, but that goes for any component.

next is your power supply (PSU). very very important to not cheap out on this. 6 - 8% of the budget should go to this. the function of the PSU is to do exactly what its name implies: supply power to all the components. this is where the website pcpartpicker can come in very handy. not only does it help you build a list of parts that are all compatible with each other, it will also estimate how much wattage you will need to run your pc. 600W is usually enough for a normal gaming pc. PSUs are ranked, and you should never really go below a bronze ranking. you can also choose between non-modular, semi-modular, and fully-modular PSUs. non-modular PSUs have all the cables permanently attached. this can be desirable to people who are confused by what cable is plugged in where but also undesirable as unused cables cannot be removed and make cable management harder. fully-modular PSUs come with the cables all in a separate bag so you choose which ones to plug in. semi-modular power supplies have the necessary cables attached and the rest can be attached need be. it all depends on preference and how much faith you have in yourself. i have an 80+ gold certified fully modular 750W PSU because the thought of unnecessary cable management makes me sick lol. corsair is pretty much the most trusted brand for power supplies. be careful because this is another place prebuilts will cut corners.

now for the case! this one isn't overly difficult to choose and mainly will just appeal to your aesthetics. it's less important to stick to a precise percent of the budget for this one but you also don't want to spend more than 8%. do you want a black case? a white one? do you want a glass side panel so you can see inside your pc and admire your hard work? besides that, you also need to make sure the case is big enough for your motherboard, GPU, and PSU. most info pages for cases will tell you the max size of the GPU and PSU and what size of mobo it's meant for. you also want to make sure there is a place to put your storage drives (unless you only have m.2 drives which are installed on the motherboard). you also want to make sure it has optimal airflow abilities. a case with no airflow will cause overheating. the best ones have mesh fronts and tops to allow cool air to be pulled in and hot air out. it's even better if you can get a case that comes with fans in the front, because they are what pulls that cool air in.

next is the CPU cooler, which i briefly mentioned. if you don't get an AMD CPU then you'll need to buy a separate cooler. you can choose between air coolers (a fan and a heatsink) or liquid coolers. i don't really have much to say about them and i recommend doing your own research on liquid coolers lol.

last but not least, case fans. like i said a lot of cases will come with front fans and also an exhaust fan at the back, however you might want more, or even replace the ones you already have with better ones. pay attention to how many fans your case manual says can fit and plan accordingly. check out reviews to see if the fans you want are quiet and efficient. if you buy a three pack of case fans there is a chance it will come with a fan hub. this makes it easier to control all of them in sync because the hub will connect all the fans to one header on the motherboard. generally 3-6 fans are pretty good for a gaming pc. two or three in the front pulling in cool air, one at the back and two on the top to pull out hot air.

now that i have all the components out of the way i'm gonna talk about RGB lighting. numerous components that i've mentioned have the option of including LED lights to make your pc brightly coloured, which is always nice if you have a glass side panel on your pc. it's an extra bit of money but i personally was willing to sacrifice that because i want to show off my build lmao. motherboards, RAM sticks, GPUs, CPU coolers, and case fans are the main components that can come with RGB lighting. you can also get special LED strips and power connectors designed for PCs. if you decide to go for RGB lighting, do try to stick to one RGB ecosystem, meaning make sure all the RGB components can be controlled by one program. RGB is controlled by your motherboard. for example if you get an asus motherboard you'll probably want to use their program, aura sync. most components can be controlled by any brand's program however if the motherboard itself has RGB lighting it can only be controlled via its own brand's program, along with the GPU. if you want RGB case fans you really have to make sure your motherboard has RGB headers (the thingy on the motherboard where you plug the fan's LED lights into). most motherboards will only have two-ish RGB headers so if you're going to buy a bunch of fans make sure they come with a fan hub, which lets you plug them all into one header on the motherboard. also, never sacrifice performance for RGB. specifically when it comes to GPUs. if you have a choice between a GPU with RGB and a GPU without RGB, always take the one that has better performance (given it's within the parameters i mentioned earlier).

that's all i have to say :) if you couldn't tell i really love this stuff. i will also recommend you watch youtube videos about this, you can see the build process and the reasoning for using each component, and also tips on what to do and what not to do. i hope this helps and wasn't too confusing. i know you said this is mainly because you got an oculus quest 2 but if you're going to get a gaming pc you should definitely consider games outside of the oculus too.

Mercy Me - Part Two

PART ONE

Summary: Jacqueline Laymore can’t really tell when it started to hurt to call Spencer her friend. But that didn’t really matter after she got kidnapped. Right now all that matters is getting home and getting Spencer Reid.

Warnings: Dissociation, PTSD trigger, slight wlw moments if you squint, the word hippie? (idk if people find it offensive bc i feel like it could be but im not sure but better safe than sorry right?)

Surprisingly, it was pretty easy to find a person willing to let Jacqueline catch a ride. She sat on the side of the road with her thumb sticking out and after the first four cars, a salmon Volkswagen van pulled onto the shoulder.

A girl poked her head out of the window. She had a medium complexion with ambiguous features. What stuck out the most was her rich brown hair and eyes, the curly hair was left natural, bound into a loose ponytail by a bandana. “Where are ya headed, Darlin’?” The thick Georgian accent caught Jacqueline off guard. But it reminded her of her friend JJ’s husband, Will.

“Uh… DC?” Jacqueline called out, the back of her neck was beginning to burn, and right now, the person driving a van probably won’t kill her.

The girl’s face lit up and Jacqueline noticed that she had pink braces. “I’m goin’ there too! Hop in Doll, it’s not like I’m a serial killer or anything!” Jacqueline stopped walking to the side of the can. Her body looked almost posed with her hand reaching out for the door handle.

“That’s exactly what a serial killer would say.” Jacqueline knew that it was irrational, thinking that way. That the girl with the hot pink blush didn’t really seem like the murdering type but, maybe it was the job, maybe the trauma, she can’t bring herself to fully trust her.

The girl feigned hurt, “Okay then. My name ‘s Gertrude, but you can call me Trudy pretty lil’ thang, Grayhiker. I’m twenty-three and I am currently driving back to DC so I can finish up my degree.” The girl stuck her arm out the window of the car and grinned down at Jacqueline. She looked nineteen, it was almost amazing Trudy was even able to drink.

“My name is uh Jacqueline Laymore, you can call me Jacqie I guess.” Jacqueline's fist-bumped Trudy’s open hand awkwardly, “I need to get back to DC for my job.”

Jacqueline opened the car door and stepped inside. The inside of the van looked like the 60’s vomited in it. It was extremely colorful and the walls were plastered with ‘hippie’ bands. There was also a dreamcatcher dangling before a window. Jacqueline wondered if it was authentic or not, by the looks of Trudy’s personality she would assume so. Trudy patted the passenger’s seat and Jacqueline crawled over the console and situated herself in the seat.

“If ya’ don't mind me askin’, what’s your job?” Trudy smiled at Jacqueline as she started driving again. Jacqueline hurriedly buckled her seatbelt and uncomfortably dragged her nails along the fabric of her pants. “I work for the Behavioral Analysis Unit. I’m actually a licensed psychologist.” A piece of her bangs started irritating Jacqueline’s right eye and she rubbed at it harshly.

Trudy looked over to Jacqueline and giggled, “You have gorgeous eyes, Babes. Very exotic looking with the one blue and the other brown. You look far too young to be a psychologist though. Isn’t it a little coinkydink that I’m studying for my doctorate and you’re already a psychologist?”

Jacqueline found herself at a loss for words, it’s not that people didn’t compliment her eyes — they did, a lot — but the genuine compliment was something new to her. Most people just think it’s cool that her eyes are different colors, and others think she’s a freak. All of the people at work just pitied her for her eye colors due to the relentless animosity from her hometown regarding her eyes.

“I’m only thirty-one. I went to college a little early. How is your degree going?” Jacqueline’s eyes follow Trudy’s profile and gauge her microexpressions.

Trudy turned to Jacqueline for a second and smiled and Jacqueline’s heart skipped a beat. “Thirty-one? You don’t look a day over eighteen!” Jacqueline mumbled thanks before looking out of her window. The blush covering her cheeks started flowing to her ears and by now Trudy must have noticed.

There are eight years between the two and Trudy is trying to make a move on Jacqueline. While Jacqueline has no problem with girls and stuff like that, the idea of being intimate with anyone at that moment would be the equivalent of eating salt and vinegar chips after biting your lips.

Jacqueline happened to love salt and vinegar chips, but at that moment, literally anything else seemed like the better option.

No one needs the baggage that came with Jacqueline Laymore.

“Angel? Are you doing alright?” Trudy asked. Jacqueline didn’t pay attention to anything past that because her eyes kept going in and out of focus. Eventually, the world just faded to nothingness, though Jacqueline could feel herself moving.

Her state of mind was brought back to the present when Trudy set a warm hand on Jacqueline's shoulder. “Jacqie? Are you alright?”

Jacqueline realized she was dissociating. The name ‘angel’ must have triggered her. Gabriel always called her, ‘his angel.’ “How long was I out of it?”

“You were dissociating, right? Did I trigger your PTSD or something?” Trudy’s eyes were moving from the road to Jacqueline so fast, Jacqueline thought they might roll out of her head. Jacqueline nodded. “Only a few minutes. Are you alright?” Jacqueline nodded again before leaning her head onto her hand. The countryside was passing her by and all she could think about was Gabriel’s voice.

Everything felt like she was underwater. Jacqueline always used to tell Spencer that everything bad that’s happened to her started with a bath. So far, it was true. The feeling of submerging your head underwater and being able to hear the pipelines. It was nostalgic for Jacqueline. Not the good nostalgic. Just because it was a simpler time for her didn’t mean it was a better one. The van kept driving along.

The two girls knew they were in for a long drive west so Trudy started turning up the volume on her radio. It got to the point where Jacqueline couldn’t think past the music and the two started singing and dancing along to it. Trudy seemed to really enjoy how Jacqueline was reacting to the songs so Jacqueline started singing louder. Always the people pleaser.

At some point, Trudy stopped and pulled into a McDonald’s drive-thru.

“What do you want Jacq?” Trudy asked.

“Can I have a cheeseburger and fries with a coke? I can pay you back.” Jacqueline fished out Gabriel’s wallet and pulled out ten dollars to give to Trudy. Trudy took the money as she pulled up to the next window.

Once their food comes they eat as they continue to drive west. Theatrically, they drove into the sunset.

Omg why are you losing so many followers youve been drawing gay shit for forever??? (Or maybe i as a gay was just interpreting it that way)

Because I literally spammed people every day for one week lmao. And also, a lot of people follow others for specific content. The moment I stop drawing that exact thing they followed me for, they unfollow me. There are also accounts that follow just to make you follow them & if you don’t, they unfollow you after a while. There’s people who followed me for haikyuu & weren’t interested in BC content, and there were people who followed me for BC content but got showered in gay art instead and that was not their cuppa tea.

But mostly, i start appearing on people’s feed the more I post. So having me post incessantly for one week made me show up on feeds that I hadn’t shown up for a good while, so there were probably people who forgot they had followed me in the first place & me posting was a reminder to unfollow.

Truthfully, follower counts are dumb. Yes, it is important for you to have a high follower count for you to get attention, but the amount of people actually following you if you don’t have a consistent art style & rarely ever post something with different vibes than your usual ones, is equal or less than 1% of your total amount of following.

My instagram tells me I have 43k. I do not have 43k people following me. I’ve had 43k that once saw my account & pressed the follow button, but their feeds are filled up with other people’s accs that interest them more than mine (as well as my own feed does not show all the content of the 200+ something people I follow, unless I scroll down till the depths of hell to find every single post on that day and then do so on the next day as well).

Essentially, 95% of your followers are there because of content. They want to see what entertains them. Most of them don’t care about the artist and don’t interact with them at all. Many of them are scared to, given the high follower count. Social media & big accounts make people forget that there are other, real, living & breathing people that are behind them all.

So, to many, I was just a random artist they found and “lol”ed at one of my comics & pressed follow without thinking about it. Most of them don’t go to my account and see all other art I’ve posted to see if they actually like what I do, or me as a person and as an artist at all.

People who don’t know this get really discouraged when they don’t earn a lot of followers, or when they lose a lot (like I did). And some people think you gotta have hundreds of thousands to be famous. I’ve seen accs going around that paid for ads, that had over 150k followers and less than 1k likes on their posts.

Truly famous, loved, growing and/or steady accounts have an amount of likes per post proportional to their follower count. For example, if someone has 150k followers, most of their posts will vary from 20k to 100k likes.

When I was growing my account because I hopped in the fandom bandwagon and stupid little me didn’t know that would only make me crash later, I had like 20~30k and some of my posts reached more than 20k likes (because people liked my stupid comics). Nowadays, I’m not part of the fandom that made me grow anymore. I’m part of a very underrated one (Black Clover), as well a I am drawing a very underrated ship (LuGna) that above all else is getting hated on. I have everything against me in this, so it’s no wonder I lost so many followers.

They didn’t wanna see gay art. They didn’t wanna see Black Clover. They didn’t even know what the fuck was going on. Not everyone paid attention or kept up with my warnings. Despite me explaining multiple times in multiple posts what the Thunder Flames project was about, a lot of people still didn’t know what I was doing that for.

The thing about being a big follower count is that, unless you’re actually loved for what you do (and to do that, once again, I need to emphasize that you need to keep a steady rhythm, a steady vibe, a steady you. Because people follow you for your first impression on them, and you gotta keep up to that first impression if you wanna keep your followers.

I’m unsteady. One look at my gallery and you’ll see how disorganized everything is. Oh, lookit, a 1 min speedpaint of a random drawing I did on an old piece of paper! And right on the left there’s a stupid random comic I did–on the right there’s this super detailed, shaded drawing I’ve done that actually looks terrible to me and I will 100% archive it later, and then there’s B&W mixed with gray shaded, flat colored and fully shaded characters of different fandoms + OCs from commissions and whatever else.

The thing is, I made my follower count based on a fandom, and now that I’m not there most of that follower count does not have me on their feed. And most of them do not want me on their feed. Now, I’m trying to build a follower count for who I am as an artist, because the few people who have actually stayed and followed me throughout the years know how inconsistent I am in terms of art style, fandoms and everything else.

A solution to this would me either keep creating/posting the same thing all over again (just in different patterns), or creating original content (which I do plan on doing at some point). But for now? Since my follower count does absolutely not reflect on how many people actually like me and/or my art, I’m going to be as chaotic as fucking ever and do whatever the fuck I want.

So yes, I do find it comical that I lost 1k followers over this and am not fazed in the very least, especially because I literally foreshadowed losing 1k and hit the fucking jackpot.

The only reason I’m talking about this at all is because 1- it’s impossible not to notice my follower count decreasing, especially because every new 1k I thank people publicly through stories; 2- some people were actually worried I was upset over it and I have to 3- show that I am not, while simultaneously trying to show people that just because you’re losing followers doesn’t mean you have to stop doing what you want to create content to please people. It doesn’t mean you should be upset, and it doesn’t mean that what you’re doing is bad or wrong.

It means you’re fucking renewing your followers & you’ll now grow for what you’re trying to grow for, bitch. That’s what it’s all about.

Obviously, people do take a great risk doing this. I am taking a great risk doing this. I could’ve lost 5k, I could’ve lost 10k. But I only lost 1k! And that’s because I believe in the project I worked on; I knew there were people out there who enjoyed what I was doing and it’s on them that I was focused on. On the people who supported me AND my art, not just that one single funny comic post I did 3 years ago.

This answer is 100% a lot longer than what you could’ve possibly expected for and I am typing this while being awake for more than 24h so I’m sure that I’ve repeated myself a lot and that there are a lotta typos or w/e and I apologize for that!! But I’m too lazy to go back to read everything over & turn this into a neat post & I’m pretty sure I could answer your question in the first paragraph.

Oh and also. Yes. Yes I have been drawing gay shit ever since I’ve become an artist because I’m so fucking pissed at the lack of canon gay content in a way that it’s depicted as a normal fucking romantic couple instead of having eeeeeeeeveryone point their finger to the gay couple and scream “HEY THAT’S GAY!!! THIS CAN’T BE PART OF THIS VERY HETEROSEXUAL SHOW WHERE EVERYONE IS OBVIOUSLY HETEROSEXUAL EVEN THOUGH NONE OF THE CHARACTERS HAVE EVER SAID THAT EXPLICITLY BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT THE CREATORS ARE EITHER HETEROSEXUAL OR TOO AFRAID TO LOSE AUDIENCE IF THEY TREAT GAY PEOPLE AS NORMAL PEOPLE!??!! I’m tired of this bullshit. Ever since I was an artist I’ve been rooting for gay ships in shonen manga while knowing they would never happen just because they were gay, and now that we are in our Blessed-By-Satan, Pandemic-Chaotic, What-The-Fuck-Is-Going-On, We-Don’t-Know-If-We-Wanna-Go-Back-Or-To-The-Future-Or-Just-IDK-Fucking-Die year 2020, in which the LGBT community is thriving and being louder than ever to fight for our rights, Me, in my twenty four years of fucking age, having gone through several fucking disappointments ONLY regarding this matter, am sitting here on my ass, hopeful as all galactic, glittery shit that for some fucking reason, my new OTP formed by very underrated characters from this very underrated franchise in the southern and western communities, becomes canon because my stupid eyes can see chemistry between them even though those stupid haters’ can’t. But that’s because they’re stupid and homophobic, and they really should just shut the fuck up. I don’t wanna dream, I want to believe. Let a bitch pray in peace.

But even if I’m getting ready for disappointment, I’m gonna make this project happen and I’m gonna have a shit ton of artbooks from this Thunder Flames project inside my fucking garage if no one wants to buy them. But I am going to invest a shit ton of money in it and I am going to have these artbooks come to life. Because I am spiteful and petty and homophobes should shut the fuck up, and I wanna do what I wanna do bc as an independent artist, I’m building my future with my own two, very toned and buff by now from all the drawing I did, hands.

so first thing u shld do while ur at a low level is get a mentor.. when i started playing i just fucked around and didnt get a mentor until i was well into lvl 40.. a mentorship is where low lvl (15 to 45 i tihnk..) players can apply for an apprenticeship and level up fast while also getting rewards such as grade darumas and a random ssr once u finish ur apprenticeship.. u can find the mentor application icon in the right side of ur courtyard.. it shld look like this!

while under a mentor u are also lvling up ur friendship which, once it reaches a certain level, it unlocks the co-op feature that u can find by clicking the scroll at the bottom right hand side of ur screen > friends > co-op tab at the bottom right side of the pop up screen... there u can access ur friends powerful shikigami that u can use a limited amount of times daily to beat hard chapters/evo/soul zones, etc etc... if ur looking for a mentor i recently finished an apprenticeship w someone so im free to help out if ur interested ^__^ (my user is @.sneer [all lowercase] if u didnt already know hehe)

join a guild if you havent already! i tihnk it prompts you to join a guild when u first start playing i dont rmbr but a couple things to rmbr.. one. if ur guild has ‘15gq’ ‘100gq’ in its notice, gq means guild quest and u like.. HAVE to do those or else theyll kick u from the guild.. u can find the guild quests by going to ur guild, clikcing the shrine tab on the bottom right, and where it says GROUP QUESTS thats it! usually theyre basic things like submit grade four souls or evo materials but u shld definitely stack up on evo materials and souls so u dont run out.. so if ur guild says 100+gqs.... i wld suggest leaving that guild for a lighter gq guild.. 100+gq guilds are like.. big bad guilds who wanna rank in the top ten soo save urself the trouble.... TWO. ur realm! ur realm comes w ur guild so if ur kicked u cant access ur realm :( i think u already know what ur realm is and what it does so i will just say .. fuse ur low level realm cards.. SAVE UR DRUMS REALM CARDS.. if its a 1*, fuse it but if its 3*+... save that bad boy..

speaking of jade... SAVE IT.. jade and mystery talismans r like GOLD.. theyre rlly easy to get in the beginning of the game but they start getting super scarce when ur lvling up and r completing achievements.. usually when u get ten mystery amulets or 1k jade ur gonna think “oh what if i get an ssr out of this summon ooh” YOU WILL NOT.. this game HATES ur ass it hates u so much it hates ME it hates EVERYONE except lvl 60s who get new ssrs and shit on their first summon... ennieway.. random chance up events r stupid scams but chance up events featuring new shikigami are not... like the one thats going on right now for sp aoandon.. these r good events... random chance up events coming up out of no where is just netease being like ‘buy more jade we want ur money ugly idiot... stupid lmao’.. so yeah hoard ur amulets and jade AH ALSO IN THE MALL go to the mall and go to GENERAL.. youll see a package that says smth like 5 daily jade or smth that costs 666 jade.. BUY THAT itll give u 5 jade daily everyday.. it also stacks up so if ur not online for a couple days u wil be swimming in it baby...

oh god what else... click ur scroll on the bottom right and at the end next to collection youll see a tab that says TEAM.. thats a very useful helpful tab bc if u ever need help or want to join in on someone elses team for loot this is where u go.. when i started playing and i was farming for hiyoribo shards i always went to the system chat and clicked rlly fast on the hiyoribo shard zone hoping i cld get in ... i did that up until i was in my lvl 40s .. ur prbly smarter than me and alreayd know abt this tab but just felt like i needed to mention it just in case.........

SHARDS... if u get enough shards u can form a summoning pact w that shikigami.. demon seals are little side quests that pop up after youve completed a chapter/exploration and they come up randomly with a handful of different shikigami... but you can also access all of the demon seals from the TEAM tab i mentioned above.... demon seals only have a handful of shikigami though not all of them so dont expect to see like ssr demon seals lol also some of the shikis u can farm from demon seals are VERY good.. ill touch on this later.. DEMON PARADE is another good way to collect shards.. in ur courtyard, click the town sign and the demon parade sign shld be the first thing u see! demon parade, unlike the demon seals, are chance thing, u might get the shards u want or u might not.. its kinda stupid... throwing beans around and shit.. itll give u a lineup of three shiki that u can choose from, if u hit the shiki u picked u get extra shards.. u might see some shiki in the parade w little lanterns over their heads, that just means they give more shards too nothing special

SHIKIGAMI... when ur looking at all of ur rare and sr shikigami ur probably thinking “this sucks these r all USELESS i want ssrs and sps >:(” well akchually... some of the best shiki in the game (for beginners especially) are rares and srs... shouzu (r), kamaitachi (sr), and hiyoribo (sr), are all farmable shikigami u can get from demon seals, if u havent summoned them already! yamausagi, a shiki u will see a LOT, is also a very easily summonable shiki so dont throw her away.. if u have duplicates of the same shiki u can PROMOTE THEM and it will level up one of their skills, just like a skill daruma! (DONT waste ur skill darumas they are soo valuable.. only use them on the shiki u use the most and want to lvl up skills on).. lvling up the skills on ur shiki increases their power and adds perks and makes them over all.. very sexy..

all shikigami have a certain role and its very important u know which shiki is which bc sometimes if u use them wrong u can mess up ur entire team.. here are all of the roles and some shiki examples:

dps: dps stands for ‘damage per second’ but it can also be used as a noun to describe a shikigami that is damage focused (ex. kuro mujou, momiji, hangan, mio)

cc: stands for ‘crowd control’. ccs have the ability to limit the number of enemies actively fighting during an encounter giving u the advantage (ex. enma, yuki onna, yumekui, samurai x)

pusher: pushes the enemies move bar back, giving u the advantage of going first (ex. kamikui)

puller: basically the same thing as pusher. pulls the ally move bar forward (ex. kamaitachi, yamausagi)

shield: shiki that provides a shield of some sort to protect allies without the use of souls (ex. ichimokuren, shiro)

heal: self explanatory (ex. sakura, hana)

revive: healer types with the ability to revive players w a cooldown. not all healers are revives (ex. hiyoribo, momo)

support: self explanatory.. supports allies (ex. miketsu, kujira, bake-kujira)

unique: shiki w unique abilities that cant be placed under labels (ex. hakuzosu, ushi no toki)

orbs: shiki that supply orbs to ur team (ex. aoandon, zashiki, oitsuki)

counter: shiki that counters after an enemy attack (ex. mannendake, vampire)

AND FINALLYYYYYY how to build ur shiki... while doing explorations u get free little souls.. in the beginning this will be ok since ur just starting off but actually each shiki has a perfect soul that makes them work the best.. now there are too many souls for me to actually list so as a parting gift to this entirely too long onmyoji cheat sheet, i will leave u this SHIKIGAMI BUILD GUIDE made by the nura clan.. it lists EVERY shikigami w the perfect soul for them, what role they play, and how to build them.. i touched on their roles a little bit above but i cldnt list everything so heres this.. i use it like everyday when building new shiki its sooo helpful

ok so this is kinda weird that I’m relating it to this but I saw The Lion King last night and I love Simba & Nala’s reunion. here we go

You were young when Calum left. His family was moving too far for you to ever visit. Mali wanted to pursue music, and their parents thought they might as well get a start on Calum’s soccer career. When he left, he hadn’t one hundred percent committed to soccer yet, but you knew that’s where he’d end up. He loved it.

The two of you often spent hours on the soccer field at the local park. You couldn’t play soccer for shit, so usually, you just fetched the balls for him. That was until you got tired and resigned to laying in the grass.

There wasn’t much warning before he left. He mentioned it one day on the walk to school, and then a couple days later, your mom told you that you’d have to walk alone now. You and Calum were eight years old, and at first, you were hurt that he left without saying goodbye.

As you got older, you realized that Calum was probably responsible for telling you he was going and he didn’t. You blamed it on the fact that he was young. So were you, sometimes you try to think about what you would’ve done if you found out that you’d be moving away from everything you knew in two only two days. You probably would’ve let a few things slip your mind too.

It wasn’t a big deal anymore, you were now almost twenty-two, and it’d been over ten years. Most memories of Calum were fond ones. Some of the memories were sad ones that were created in the first few weeks that he was gone. Little things like racing outside in the morning to tell him something before you realized he wasn’t there or wanting to call Mrs. Joy’s phone to see if you could come over.

Today, you’d been thinking about him after your mom had tagged you in a post she made so many years ago on this day. The first day of Kindergarten. You and Calum stood in the lawn with big grins and empty backpacks slung over your shoulders. Standing shoulder to shoulder, both of you had one hand on a brown paper lunch sack. You laughed when you saw it, remembering that Joy and your mom always took turns making one big lunch with enough for you both to share. It was a way to make sure you two stayed together throughout the day.

You sigh as you walk down the sidewalk, locking your phone and shoving it into your back pocket. Today was the first day you had off since last week, and you were so relieved to spend the day at home watching endless Netflix episodes. That was until you had a craving for an iced latte. Sure, you could’ve made one yourself, but it wouldn’t have been as good.

That’s why you find yourself pushing the door open to a small café just down the street from your relatively new apartment. You’d moved into the area a few months ago, and exhausting your savings on new (to you) local businesses hadn’t gotten old yet. It was actually good for you to get out and make yourself a familiar face.

The line in the café wasn’t long so in fifteen minutes you were making your way to the door, coffee in one hand and your phone in the other. You were checking the time as you nudged the door open with your shoulder. You just wanted to make sure you’d have enough time to finish the season you were watching before your mother expected you to come over for dinner.

You lose your footing as you step on something and on your way down you barely graze someone's shoulder. It’s a blur, but you feel your hands in a cold puddle of the drink you just paid for. When you flip yourself, so you’re sitting on the ground, you try to find who you ran into.

“Watch it next time!” A tall, dark-haired guy throws over his shoulder. His back is to you, his hair is buzzed, and he’s wearing one of those tank tops that people usually only wear as undershirts. He pauses for a moment, picking up his boot-clad foot to look at the spilled liquid that coats a little bit of his pant let. “Damn, I just had these washed.”

Quickly, you scramble to your feet to try to catch up to him. You wanted to apologize and maybe give him some money to get his slacks dry cleaned. They looked nice.

“Hey! Wait, I’m sorry. Let me fix it.” You stop short of him as he turns around. There’s something familiar about his bushy eyebrows and full nose.

“Calum?” You ask, your eyebrows scrunching and your head shakes just the slightest bit.

“Y/N?” He says in disbelief. It’s weird how fate works because he’d been thinking of you today too. His mom has screenshotted the post and sent it to him this morning.

“It’s really you, huh? After all these years.” You chuckle, your hands are held awkwardly away from you because you’d landed in a puddle of your drink.

“Guess so. It’s funny that my mom sent me a picture of us today.” Calum brings his arm up to rub at the back of his neck, and that’s when you notice the thick, silver chain that’s wrapped around it.

“Yeah, first day of Kindergarten with our shared lunch. It’s funny to me now, but we used to love that. Seeing what they packed us was the most exciting part of the day.” Calum grins, and you smile immediately matches his.

“What are you up to today? Would you want to hang out?” He shuffles his feet a little bit, looking nervous for a split second.

“I was really committed to watching Nextflix and maybe ordering Postmates for lunch, but I guess I could move things around for my best friend that disappeared over ten years ago.” You tease him, rolling your eyes and then nodding. “Sure, we can hang out. I need to go inside and wash my hands.”

“Let’s start with coffee, what did you have? I’ll order another while you do that.” Calum walks past you and opens the door for you. You tell him and then make your way to the restroom.

After ten years, he should seem like a stranger. He should make you want to be cautious because a lot can change in that amount of time. It’s not anywhere close to that though. You suddenly feel like he never left.

My sleep schedule is fucked, I worked from 11-7 last night and then had class 8-12, I’m off until Friday now but I have shit to do on the computer and then the next two weeks I have to go to the cancer clinic basically Monday-Friday during the day. And then I’m off orientation, which is spooky but it’s okay.

I’m going to sleep until my parents get home and then talk to my dad, I think tomorrow I’m going to test drive the car I decided on (I don’t think I’ve talked much about that recently) and possibly end up buying it because I got over 2k off on it already, bringing it down way more than expected for a fully loaded HR-V.

I decided on the HR-V (EX-L awd). While visiting dealers on Sunday, the Mazda cx-3 looked too small. I wanted something a little bigger and weight-y-er than the bug, and they’re literally somehow the exact same size? And the cx-5 was a little too expensive. We went to a Honda dealer next and I saw a bunch of HR-Vs which I liked. Went around and looked at every single one they had on their little main lot (in a downtown city area) and my dad also liked them. We went to a Subaru dealership and looked at crosstreks, and my dad actually liked them too (which I was surprised this whole time because prior he was really really pushing for Mazda and didn’t like the pictures of crosstreks). We ended up going to ANOTHER Honda dealership and saw some more HR-Vs, which again I liked. My brain is fuzzy now but at some point we saw a white one and I’m a stupid sucker for white from being sentimental with the bug.

Got home and talked. It got down to between the HR-V and crosstrek. Emailed two Subaru dealerships and two Honda dealerships. Subaru is hard because they have their trim levels, but then everything nice is an option, sunroof, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, random other stuff- and it’s ALL mixed and matched at random. Finding a car in the color I wanted with the options I wanted was nearly impossible because they both had like 12 crosstreks and they were COMPLETELY random in their features. Subaru guys got back to me with kinda shitty vague weird answers, giving me pricing for used crosstreks and limited trim ones, which I didn’t ask for. So I just scratched them out. Honda was MUCH simpler, one dealership got back to me instantly with the price over 2k less than sticker (which I still plan on trying to negotiate less), and another was kinda annoying and gave me an offer for 1k less than sticker, and when I told them about the other offer and asked if they could beat it he just was like give me your phone number and come stop in and we can talk, but I’m not giving my fuckin phone number to these people when I work night shift. If you call me at 8-4, I will be sleeping, and I will be pissed.

So I need to email back the lady from the Honda dealer who gave me the 2k less price and let her know I can come in tomorrow around 5 with my dad to test drive and check out the car (white exterior and either black or gray leather, I’m not sure yet). I have the money now to drop a big down payment on it, but my dad is stressing me out with having to get my own insurance and all these things that I “need to do first” but “might buy the car Wednesday” so idk. I’m super anxious about having a brand new car, it’ll be really weird and scary. The bug was a piece of shit when I bought it, I treated it the best I could always, but it was still a scratched and dented 10 year old car.

It’ll be weird to have a new car but it’ll be okay. Hopefully it’ll be a lot better in the snow than the bug was (I mean it’s basically impossible for it to be worse, the bug is a fucking death trap)

Oh I also put in an IV today all by myself first shot, and the lady said she didn’t even feel it, so that was p fuckin nice too. I also shampooed and combed another patients hair because it was super knotty and had dried blood in it, and she was super thankful.

I’m gunna try to sleep now, I’ve been awake for 24 hours lol.

and you’re a drama major bc thats fun and he is too and everyone loves him ya know so he revels in that fact and is super cocky and arrogant about it. and let’s say you transfer to that college from another bc this one offered a better course or whatever idk but you’re new.

and you most certainly don’t fall at tom’s feet bc you’re here to do you and don’t have time for this asshole. but that kinda intrigues him and harrison knows this and nonchalantly says “bet you couldn’t get her to date you by show time.”

tom smirks “oh yeah? how much?”

they settle on fifty bucks and the loser has to shout the winner drinks for the rest of the semester.

so tom starts flirting with you, and you entertain him a little but always shut him down politely bc you dont wanna start any tension in the class. but then comes your group performance which is a massive chunk of your final grade and you and tom get cast as love interests in the chosen play. so you don’t really have an excuse to decline tom when he asks to run lines together because its so much easier than doing it alone.

he keeps up his flirting during all your rehearsals and such which you now reciprocate and it helps with your chemistry for the play so bonus points there. it’s about a month out from opening night of the play when tom actually asks you out on a date.

“i thought you just had hook ups?” you’d ask in response

and he’d panic bc his heart is thundering in his chest because he doesn’t want you to say no, bet or no bet bc he’s already in deep at this point he just doesnt realise yet.

“where did you hear that?”

“fucking everywhere dude, you’ve quite the reputation.”

he doesn’t know what to say bc he’s sort of dug himself a hole here, but your laugh breaks him from his small existential crisis he was having

“look i don’t want to judge you by gossip and you seem lovely to me. i’m gonna give you chance, so blow my mind. i’m free on sunday.” you send him a wink before leaving class.

he takes you to this outdoor performance of shakespeare’s a midsummer night’s dream and brings a lil picnic and you love it it’s sweet and cute you end up huddled together under a blanket and you have your first kiss there too aww

anyway so fast forward to show weekend, say you have three shows like thursday friday and saturday nights, and they all go well and it was a hit. y’all are at the after party which is basically you’re entire class and maybe some friends just chilling out with drinks, maybe some beer pong going on ((but with rum like my theatre class did rip)) but you’re chilling on a couch with tom and haz and some others but tom excuses himself to the bathroom so you start making light conversation with haz and he’d somehow let slip about the bet, not intentionally, but in his drunk haze remembers he owes tom the money from it.

“why would you owe tom money? did he buy your booze?” you’d ask

“no because he’s dating you.”

and of course tom would return to hear harrison spill the beans.

“you put money on dating me?” you’d ask.

everyone else in the room would be silent bc they had no idea about the bet

“i-i no, i mean, technically but-”

you wouldn’t stay to hear it bc obvs you’re mad so you walk back to your dorm which isnt too far. and barely two minutes later there’s a knock on your door, and you know it would be tom because who else would it be? but you open it any because for some reason you’re not quite as angry about it as you maybe should be.

he doesn’t say anything for at least a minute, and you’re both just sorta staring at each other until you step to the side and wave him in. he slips past you and awkwardly loiters in the space near the door while you lean on the arm of the couch.

“what was the bet exactly?” you ask

Caved in on getting a service industry job, in the middle of a fucking pandemic, even tho I'm high risk, bcs the pay was 1k, aka more than double the min wage (450) -which itself was recently doubled (200 smth) for the first time since the dawn of the planet- bcs the kind of money I could earn till oct would be crazy, for this country.

Even tho some of the demands were on the crazy side -no sit no phone, lie like ur a politician- the good was 6h shifts with 1 day off, an apartment 5mins away from the shop to live in for me and my sister -cause we both got in- with the possibility of another person joining later in the summer. Sounds great right?

Well, ofc it does, cause it was a lie. The pay was min wage, the apartment was not within stari grad but basically the outskirts tho that in itself is not really far away considering the size of the town. It had 6 ppl in it and the real possibility they would cram more in, even tho it was a size for 4 max, a broken shower which felt like it was gonna give under me and I'm 45kg so I don't know how the others managed to live with it. Not to mention, the bills were not payed for, and the electricity was insane, like 3 ppl paying 150 -bcs there were only 3 during the winter- when my 5person family pays 80 tops, and that's with the debt added on to the actual number. And the 6h shifts? They were 5 and an unpayed half hour one day, 7 and a half on another and then a 12h one to finish up. They even had the workers do double 12h shifts bcs of lack of ppl last year and we're supposed to trust that aint' happening this time?

What did they think? We'd stay for this scam if they kept mentioning the magical % which would really up the pay after the ssn starts, 2 months from now? When the max august of last year brought the worker with the highest sales was 700 which included russians, who make up the biggest tourist numbers, and are the big money spenders in the store, which ain't happening this year. Not to mention the majority owner being a russian who owns souvenir shops in more countries, and produces souvenirs with an entire wall being especially catered to russian clientele and entirely filled with overpriced different kinds of russian santas, which seem cheap to them bcs they have even more insane prices in Russia, and you're told to lie thru your teeth to other tourists about that being Sveti Nikola and that they're displayed in houses during the entire year bcs they 'protect sailors' or some other such bull. What a fucking lie, we don't even have santa here!! Santa comes for new year and I had no idea he was a Christmas thing till idk hs, we had Bozic bata and he leaves a gift in your shoes. Even christmas trees are not really Christmas, it's badnjak that's Christmas. A truly bizarre case of reverse cultural appropriation, in which a rich person is using their country's culture to make money, in a different country, by having min wage workers lie. No matter how you say there's gon be a lot of ships this year, if most of the ppl who buy the stupid expensive shit aka santas and ikone are russians who won't really be coming this summer, does that really matter? The only other thing that's mad expensive, are the ugliest fucking gusle I have ever seen, just the worst piece of work you can imagine, and big ships, and neither really sell, like at all.

Came back home the next day. Like, at least it all came out on the first night, and I didn't lose that much effort. The one good thing that came from sharing an apartment with other ppl who work or are on their probni rad, they did not hold back. Even told us we were lucky to not be put in the apartment that was within stari grad, bcs that one had 10ppl, and from what I heard during that day's shift -jer sam bila na obuci- that apartment didn't even have running water, and smn who just moved in there talked to another employee who is originally from the town, if there's anyone they know who can odvrne ventil.

#fucking ssnl jobs are supposed to pay well and have accomodation #that's why they're called ssnl #bcs u can earn more working them #what would b the rsn to go down to the coast if you wouldn't earn anything #fast food workers had a place to stay 3 meals a day and 7-800 last year #and that was bfr the whole min wage increase #room service is similair #and these bastards can barely reach that much after adding sale %#and fucking with shifts #one even told us #the only way to earn close to 1k #bcs my sister was still on the fence about it #tho i washed my hands of it as soon as i heard about the 12h #was if she was put in a one person store #and does double shift aka 12h #every time #bcs every time u work 12h u get double daily wage #and if u work 12h every day #u double your entire pay #aka go from 450 to 900 #but is smn crazy to work 12h days

god i had like the most stressful day at work that ive ever had in recent memory, and then i come home to find that our Least Favorite Neighbor Who Has Actually Shouted At Us From His Moving Vehicle Before, might be dustys old owner and possibly wants him back

Like we've had complete radio silence since after finding this cat.... ten months, theres been no Lost Cat flyers, no neighborly chatting "hey keep an eye out for this cat", WE put up Found Cat flyers by the community mailboxes for like a month and a half at least, we made posts on our towns social media..app....thing..

Not to mention! When we found this cat he was pretty thin, had an eye infection, and had some gnarly teeth that needed to be taken care of medically. We had him neutered and chipped, hes, like, registered to us now! Through the county!

So like, if this cat really was his, he didnt like....take care of him, like, at all. It takes a long fuckin time for an animals mouth to get That bad off, and it was OBVIOUS. Terrible breath, cracks in multiple teeth, lots of them needed to be removed...

Idk if u guys remember but we found him about 3 days before hurricane Irma hit us. We assumed he was lost or even straight up abandoned in the pre-storm evacuation panic. We accounted for that, and kept our flyers up as long after that as they would let us. The social media app for our town, this guy made an account in March and only just now thought to see if someone found his cat ten months ago??!

I dont want to give up dusty, my parents and brothers dont want to give him up. Hes family! This crazy little bastard whom we love dearly has been a part of our family for almost an entire year, and we're supposed to just hand him over, just like that? My dad even mentioned we should give this guy money so he'd let us keep him, as if we havent spent over 1k in medical bills on this cat already?

I mean, it also does not help in the slightest that every interaction we have had with this guy has been extremely unpleasant. Its hard enough to give up a loved one, especially when you dislike the person youd be giving them to.

I dont know, i just wanted to vent and get all these feelings down on paper, er, computer, but like... i dont know, the whole thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Like.. why the long wait? Why not tell ANYONE your cat was missing, via flyer or word of mouth? Why give up on your cat? Why now? Can we even tell if this guy really loved this cat or not, when he had so many longterm, yet easy to fix, medical ailments? After he ran away, he kept coming back to us. To our house. Several days in a row. Asking to be let in. Not wanting to leave once we did. Does dusty want to be with him? Or would he rather be with us? I wish we could just ask him what he wants LOL

Also like, on my was home from work he apparently came to our house and rang the doorbell...i dont think we have contacted him back since he first sent the message, does he realize how creepy it is to come to someones house bc they havent answered your message online yet? Holy shit!

We're currently waiting for my dad to come home before we do ANYTHING with this guy

Loosely based on the movie Its a girl boy thing, promise its gonna be different but at first might be very similar.

Summary: Both Reader and Bucky have hated each other for years, but an unexpected event will bring them close, so much closer than they wanted.

(Y/N) woke up without any incidents, she felt well rested and happy. It was going to be a good day for her, she knew it. She did her morning routine as everyday, changing into a pair of black bell jeans, a pink blouse and a knitted vest over. She looked smart and ready to decipher anything.

“Hello Mother.” She smiled, placing a kiss her mothers right cheek. Her mother smiled delightfully and placed a bowl of cinnamon apple homemade oatmeal. (Y/N) smiled and started eating.

“Well, honey looks like you received mail today.” Her mother squealed with glee. She placed the card in front of her daughter, as her husband looked tentatively.

“Looks like its from Yale.” (Y/N)s’ dad broke the silence. (Y/N) tried to look as happy as possible, convincing her mother but not her father. He placed his hand on her forearm and slightly squished it. It was a small act but one that she predicated. With a last deep breath, (Y/N) opened the envelope and read the letter. A breath caught up her throat, as she looked at her mother.

“I have an early admission interview on Friday…” She breathed out. Her dad looked at her and smiled, while her mom was celebrating. Her dream had come true, (Y/N), her only daughter, was going to Yale.

“But how? I didn’t apply for it.” (Y/N) mumbled out.

“Well, I did. I was just-I knew you would get in so I applied for you, and look all our hopes have been responded.” She said squealing like a teenager. (Y/N) smiled, a fake one, and nodded.

“Wow” She breathed out, her head was slightly spinning and she could feel the pressure. God she hated this.

“Oh my god, Yale! We're going to Yale!” (Y/N) nodded as she exited the room. This time she was early, too early in fact. She walked to the bus stop, which in fact gave her a direct view to Bucky’s house, and waited. She stared at the worn-out green wooded house, as James left. He had it all, didn’t he? She thought. God what I would give to have his life. The bus came, and she got in, ignoring everyone around her.

History class was her favorite. She loved the learning about different eras and cultures that are around the world, and this class was no exception. One by one, everyone was entering the yellow school bus, they were all going to the new history museum in the city. For the first time in a long time, she was actually excited and eager to learn.

“Hurry up kids, we wouldn’t want to miss our tour.” Mr. Coulson shouted. (Y/N) scurried her things into her bag and started walking towards the bus, not really paying attention. Dot looked at her, as she was passing by them and slightly pushed her feet out. (Y/N) fell, her things landing everywhere and her knees and hands scrapping. She looked up to see Dot laughing with her minions, god she hated them.

“Better look where you’re going next time, Nerd.” Fuck, she hated her. How could she hate someone so much, (Y/N) thought. I feel sorry for her parents, if it wasn’t for the money she would be a no one. (Y/N) grabbed her things and flipped of Dot, who only laughed harder.

Bucky just looked at Dot and shook his head. Sure he hated (Y/N) and her snobby attitude but He didn’t like the bullying side of Dot either. In fact, he hated it but Bucky didn’t want to start a fight, not now anyway.

“I’m gonna miss you all day Hot stuff” Dot sultry whispered in his ear. He grinned at her and kissed her without a problem.

“Fuck, Dot when I get back I’m going over to yours.” He said between kisses.

“I’ll be waiting handsome.” She winked, separating herself form him.

“Barnes, its time to leave. C’mon, I want no hanky-panky on school.” Mr. Coulson said, pushing Bucky towards the bus. Dot waved at him, blowing a kiss while Bucky just grinned at her. He found a seat next to Steve, who just looked at him with disapproval.

When they got to the museum, they went to the Aztec expedition, where Mr Coulson was explaining the works of Tex. Bucky wasn’t paying attention, mostly humoring Steve with the boobs that one of the sculptures had. (Y/N) instead was listening to everything, writing notes and admiring the work of the Aztecs.

“Mr. Barns and Mr. Rogers, is their anything interesting going on over there?” Bucky looked at Coulson and smiled innocently.

“I see not, well C’mon here and listen to the explanation. You’ll be graded for this investigation.” Bucky and Steve nod, looking around the place. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to learn but the fact that he hated most of the subjects. He was good at sports and being at the football team obligated him to be in a B average, which he had. It’s just, he doubted any college would want him with that. He had to impress with football and being here, stuck in a museum wouldn’t help him.

“Texcalipoca, is the ancient god of sorcery and destiny. Cool right? Its very interesting, he was lord of the night, a shape shifter, god of the mirrors.” (btw everything of this is taken from the movie) Coulson talked. (Y/N) was marveled by it, looking at it intently.

“Well now, we don’t have much time get into pairs and lets work.” Mr. Coulson indicated, he watched as Buck and Steve got together, he shook his head.

“Barnes and Rogers, you aren’t going to be together this time. Rogers go with Danielson and Barnes with (Y/L/N).” Bucky turned around looking at (Y/N). He didn’t want to work with her, in fact he hated her. He walked towards the Texcalipoca, and stood in front of it and (Y/N).

“I cannot believe I’m stuck with you” (Y/N) rolled her eyes. She looked at Tex and started writing some information down.

“Well, sweetheart you are. Deal with it.” Bucky retorted.

“God I hate you.” She shouted.

“I know, cause secretly you wanna have sex with me.” He smirked at her.

“Gross, if I decide to give up the flower of my womanhood it will be with someone special not a poor excuse of a man.” Bucky looked at her with dark eyes, god he truly did hate her.

“You make me sick, you think you so different to everyone else.” He exasperatedly said.

“Its ‘from everyone else’ not ‘to everyone else’” She corrected him.

“Whats the difference? Wait don’t answer, I truly don’t give a damn.” He said leaving her behind. She let out a shriek and went to do her own thing. Fuck him, fuck his perfect face and eyes, fuck his wanna be perfect life, just fuck him and everyone surrounding him.

At home (Y/N) sat on her desk, looking at the blank paper. She was trying to write ideas for her interview, topics that might come up and she would need to answer. She needed it to be perfect and get in. Nothing was coming up to mind. Her head was blank, she was feeling down and exhausted. She got up and went to bed, laying down and instantly falling into a deep slumber.

Bucky was at his house, kissing Dot goodbye. He looked at her, she was pretty and her body was hot but sometimes he felt like she only wanted him for the popularity. He wanted something more, but she was there and that all he needed, a good fuck. He closed the door and immediately he felt dizzy. Exhaustion downed on his body, and slowly his eyes were closing. He ran up the stairs and threw himself on the bed with the same clothe he had on. He closed his eyes, thinking he would wake up in a bit to change and fell asleep.

Entry #16 - 21/01/2020

Well, it’s safe to say returning back to Cheltenham and the whole dorm life has been fairly bittersweet! I guess I adapted very well when I was back home (and I mean, who wouldn’t when you are blessed enough to not worry about money for that period, and great parents who are willing to help you out as much as possible!) It was quite sad on the final day of coming back here with my dad dropping me off, but at the same time it feels quite nice. Nice to have my privacy back, my own bathroom schedule and be able to use my gaming PC again!

It’s currently 6am as I write this, sadly my sleep got interrupted by a phone notification, turns out a friend was spamming me on Steam so now I am awake. The power of the internet right there folks, being able to wake someone up from thousands of miles away. However, I am not too fussed. My semester starts again today, and my lecture is at 11:15 so it’s not all too bad.

Initially I was kind of freaking out, predominantly due to the fact that my first lecture this week involves group-based work... and I guess I’m not really satisfied with the input that I had put in before Xmas for the group, but oh well. I am hopefully willing to change that with this next lecture coming up.

I want to try and get some organisation into the group. Sort out roles for each group member so we know what we’re doing and contribute more ideas together. I think before Xmas I was just so drained, tired and stressed with all the other assignments that my mind just went completely blank. However, it’s a new year now, new semester and that means I gotta be back on my A game.

So I’m feeling relatively optimistic about that, albeit nervous.. but hey, I’m still here and I’ve managed to get through all this shit before in my life, there’s hardly anything stopping me, other than how negatively my mind perceives me. In all fairness, my mood has been quite good ever since Christmas and my last post. I’m hoping it stays that way! I’m satisfied with the long break I had, and now it’s time to work hard again. This project should be fun anyways.

I don’t imagine this project/assignment will be too time-consuming regardless.. we’ve got 4 months to do it and we’ve got a very very basic concept that runs... I guess we just need to keep adding stuff to it over the next 4 months and see how far we get into it. Least that gives me hopes about time-keeping for the other assignments I’m starting this semester which I’m sure will be just as stressy as the ones I’ve just done :^)

Talking of assignments, my creative skills assignment got graded, the one which heavily involves Photoshop, Illustrator and all that graphic design stuff. I got 68, which was 2 marks off the top criteria.. So I’m happy with that! Considering a pass grade is 40, an extra 28 marks on top of that I’m chuffed with. So that’s kept me very positive recently that my work isn’t utter crap!

I am sorta worried for my other two assignments that are yet to be graded. One assignment which is the creating a game in Unity that I had to request an extension for, I feel like I’m going to get a low grade or not pass at all... trying to write the code myself was so difficult so uh, some sort of it was uh, “referenced” from online, i guess. My 3D modelling assignment I’m also sorta worrying about as I rushed it towards Christmas as I requested an extension for that too. Oh well, I’m going to try not to let it play on my mind...

On a more positive note, I decided to get this student housing thing sorted once and for all. I can’t afford to go back into student halls, and I’ma be real with you, but the flatmates you get can be obnoxious as fuck. Not saying that my current flatmates are like that, but uh, we just live and let live and we don’t really speak to each other. But they like to hog the kitchen a lot, and that annoys me. So I don’t really want to put up with that again next year.

I organised a Discord group thingy between my bf and a friend from the course, so we could get a 3 bed house that’s close to the campus. Thing is, this student house is ideal for me because the rent is so cheap compared to student halls. So if I can get this student house, I’d be able to keep and spend so much more than I get right now. Lets put it this way, in student halls at the moment, I only get £300 to spend across the 3 months. If I was in a student house, on average I’d have just over £1k to save/spend over the 3 months. Yum fucking yum!!! So I really hope to fuc that we can get a place sorted!

I ain’t really got no fear of anything going wrong tbh... we still got quite a bit of time, and there’s still some good choices going around in the area near the university- which is convenient as currently where we stay it is an hour walk to campus, and yeah.... not worth it. I might also mention it to a few friends on the course if they want to also come live with us, but it looks like everyone is sorted... so I think it’s best that we just find a place, inquire, see if we’re happy and then slap the deposit on it.

Conveniently, my dad just got his redundancy money from work and has offered to pay my deposit for me which is a MAJOR help, otherwise I simply would not be able to afford it and live at the same time. So I feel very blessed knowing this. Of course, once we get to the house I am not going to blast any of the money, in fact I might just spend it how I do now, very minimally. Reason being? Overdraft. I gotta get out my overdraft. My bank has started to change the limit of how much is fee-free, and at the moment I can take out up to £2000 and it’s fee-free, but at the end of this year it’s going down to £1500, then the year after it’s £1000, year after is £500 and then so on.

So realistically, it is absolutely in my best interests to go for a student house. I need that money. I have also been looking at costs about doing an internship in Canada, and yes, it is fairly expensive once you count the application fees, flight fees and the fact that the Canadian government want you to prove that you have 2400CAD in your bank to prove that you can sustain yourself in Canada.

I have been looking at the invitation pools for UK residents to take the working holiday visa scheme in Canada, and right now it seems 3k people have signed up, and there’s 6k slots... so... that’s filled some hope in me! I just really hope I get a place!! It is absolutely my dream to work in Canada for the year. I just gotta be on top of my game on December 2020... as I believe that’s when the pools next open. I just hope they don’t mind being there for only a year when the visa grants you two years! But uh, they don’t need to know that hehe... or maybe they do. lol idk.

But yes, a student house is needed in order for all this to be accomplished. I know for a fact I would be more comfortable staying with my bf and a coursemate rather than more random people that I have to awkwardly say hi to when I want to grab my noodles from the kitchen. But yes, I’m estimating that over the second year, I’ll have about £800 or so to spend. That’s amazing. And I want to invest £500 into my overdraft so I can go down to the fee-free amount (£1500), and then do the same for the next instalment so I can go down to £1000, and then save whatever is left from the final instalment to try and sustain myself for if & when I go to Canada. They ask for 2400CAD in your bank, and that’s £1400... I guess as long as I have that in my bank they’ll accept me, and then once I get in I can focus on paying that overdraft off.

I’ve heard internships in Canada pay minimum wage, so if I have extra money in the month that I don’t necessarily need, I’ll send it to my UK bank account and help me get out of that overdraft, as when/if i’m in Canada, the fee-free amount will reduce to £500 or so, therefore I need to get that paid off. I don’t think it should be too difficult, but I’m super relying on these things working out, and lets be real, there’s a very high chance of all this not working out. Though, I won’t allow myself to. I will find a student house. I will save the money I get when I’m at said student house. I will pay my overdraft bit by bit. I will try to save up 2400CAD so I can get accepted into Canada, but the most important part: I will try my best to entice Canadian game studios to accept me..

That last part, that’s going to be tricky I think... I hope I am good enough that they will accept me as their intern. I don’t know really. I still don’t know where I wanna go , but anywhere in Canada I’m happy with: particularly if it’s Toronto or Montreal. Hell, I have still been learning French for just in case I do get a place in Montreal. They speak French there? well heck, so will I with all this time I got to do it. Plus, I’ve been wanting to learn French for a while, but just needed a sort of kick up the butt to say “ok, here’s why you should ACTUALLY do it!” and yea :3

That being said , I would also be happy if I got accepted at a studio in Vancouver.. a bit far and very much behind time-wise from the UK, but hey it’s only for the year, I may as well live it up aye? Of course, I am still banking on myself to get accepted into the pools and be invited by the Canadian gov, then consult jobs/studios all over Canada with my work and stuff, then save up the money to get into Canada, all simultaneously while trying to find a roommate in whichever city I get to (however, this seems like a rather simple one as I’ve already seen many apps that can help find roommates and offers seem to come & go A LOT.)

A roommate would definitely be ideal for me, as it would help split the rent. If I’m going to stay in a city like Vancouver or Toronto, it isn’t really possible for me to sustain myself on minimum wage in these cities. So a roommate is ideal. Besides, I need friends when I get there anyway! lol

I wonder if I’ll look back at this post in a few years and think... “Wow Kurt, you thought it was that easy?” - part of me thinks this goal is far-fetched, another part of me sees it as perfectly accomplishable with the correct amount of time, planning and finances. So really... I don’t know. I would say at the moment, probability is low in the likeliness of me getting in, because my work is still a bit.. questionable, as I am still a fresher after all. So I gotta rely on producing really good work that catches the eyes of employers, host a website with my portfolio on it and send it to just as many Canadian studios as I can and then hope for the best. I just really want this goal, it’s an even more motivating goal than thinking of graduation, honestly!

Welp. I posted a lot on this one, but everything I said here is 100% the things that run through my mind a lot of the nights. I am going to stay optimistic, I’m going to work to the best of my ability and make my creations look appealing, I am going to get that student house so I can be happy financially and secure myself & my goals. In Repair - "Shit,“ Frank mutters, and shoves both hands through his hair. He looks around the kitchen like he’s gonna find what he should do scratched into the old linoleum, then looks back at the bot. He gnaws on his lip. Fuck it. He already knows what he’s gonna do. He’s just gotta do it.

Getting down on his knees, he braces a hand on the edge of the crate and leans over the bot. It’s dressed in a plain white tee and matching drawstring pants like an escaped mental patient. Frank rolls his neck and cracks his knuckles, shaking the ache out of them before carefully laying his palm against its cheek. He’s pretty sure his voice is steady when he says, "Activate.”

Nothing happens. Fucking shitty packaging– the thing’s busted. But Frank keeps his hand where it is, jumping a little when he feels the surge of energy beneath it. The robot’s skin goes from room temperature to lukewarm, then warm. Frank watches it open its eyes, the light behind them adjusting until they’re a pale sort of brown. It looks at him and asks, “Am I dead?” 33k

I mean, well, if you're not happy here, you can always quit and do something you like, but your COBRA insurance will eventually run out and you'll either need to find another job with benefits, not necessarily the job you want, so it looks like you're sticking around for some time.....no freelancing or working two part-time jobs you like for you! I like this system because it keeps my employees from quitting, particularly the ones with pre-existing conditions or family members with pre-existing conditions. I can get what I want out of them by using the health-care lasso ( go ahead and quit, but try seeing how much a private policy will cost you if you're lucky enough to get accepted with what you've got! ), plus there is no need to worry about competition from freelancers or small businesses. 600cc sports bike good for a beginner? gsxr600 or zx6r?

ive never ridin a motorrcycle before and im looking at getting a gsx-r600 or zx6r. Im taking the safety course which is 10 hours of riding and 5 of classes which i realize isnt a lot. I drive stick shift cars so i get the point of shifting the bike. Ive ridin a dirtbike once and quads once but i seem to be a natural on anything with a motor so im not nervous at all about getting a racing bike starting. A lot of people say a 600 is to big for a first bike but i know people that have them and say they arent that bad as long as you dont drive it like an asshole. I plan on really taking it veryyyyy easy the first summer out and not pushing anything untill i feel extremly comfortable with it. My question is should i get this for a first bike? Im not getting a 250 dont even bother with that. Ive seen the 650's which are more begginer friendly but i just feel ill outgrow that within the first year and ill lose my money by selling it and buying a 600 instead of getting the 600 in the first place
