i played through chants of sennaar (and then started another playthrough but this time i'm taking actual notes of all the words bc hhhhh languages am i right) and now i keep thinking abt the devotee language specifically and like. how other words could be formed.

would a pen be a tool with which you make letters the way an instrument is a tool with which you make music? would a book be a thing by itself or would it be a knowledge tool? would an alchemist be a potion person? what would the word for water be and would a water tool then be a glass or rather a watering can? would an elevator be a tool that goes up? is the word for go based on the word for feet or legs and would the word for shoes or pants be that plus tool? would they differentiate btwn children and adults and if so would that be based on the words for small/big or the words for young/old? assuming there is a word for knowledge by itself would the verb form of that mean to teach or to study? and would it in combination with person mean a teacher or a student? or maybe they wouldnt differentiate btwn those? does the part of warrior that makes it be read as warrior mean danger or rather something like fight as a noun? would it combine with tool to mean weapon? would a murderer be a death person? how if at all would they differentiate btwn a liked/loved person being a friend vs being a lover? could a repetition of the sign for like/love maybe signify romantic love the way that repetition of other words signifies plural? would a bed be a tool for sleeping or a place where you sleep? and if it would be a place then what would a bedroom be called? can you combine words that have already been combined to signify a certain word with other words? for example could you combine the potential word for weapon as a fighting tool with the sign for place to mean armory? or could you combine book as a knowledge tool with place to mean library? or is that something you wouldnt be able to do? would a laboratory be a potion place? how would they refer to the anchorites?

honestly the worst thing abt this tho is that as much as i am attached to that worldstate i KNOW i cannot use it in da4 because ive just. wriggled my claws in so deep and for inqusition especially there is sooo much i've changed bc the writing in inquisition drives me BONKERS. so like. i just know whatever they say in da4 i am probably just inherently going to hate, so i NEED to work on a new worldstate (and i am actively attempting to) but ..... guh. effort.

Hmm. Klavier had really been hoping not to talk to Apollo one-on-one until after the trial. Or until tomorrow. Maybe weeks from now, really. That would have given him enough time to think of an excuse. But this? Apollo staring at him with those big ol' eyes? Klavier didn't have a chance. He would just have to wing it.

"Why, if it isn't Herr Forehead! I wasn't expecting to see you so early today. What a lucky surprise!"

"Uh, right." Apollo's eyes stayed fixed on him. "Why… are you dressed like that?"

Damn. Well, at least Klavier had tried being nice. Next up…

Klavier slathered himself in slime (just as a metaphor, of course, with a little alliteration). "Oh, this? You see, Herr Forehead, I wanted to try dressing more daringly. And when I thought of 'daring outfits,' I first thought of you. You're incredibly brave to dress like this all the time, you know."

Ah. That was… mean. Klavier almost asked for a do-over (how could his thoughts think that this was the right choice?), but Apollo didn't give him that chance.

"Hold on." Apollo's eyebrows knotted together indignantly. A terrifying sense of impending doom lingered in the air. Klavier was going to get his just desserts, and Apollo would get sweet revenge served cold, or whatever.

"I don't dress like this all the time. They're just my work clothes." Apollo snorted. "What, did you think I sleep in these?"

Thank you, Apollo, for being so dense. "Hm? Are you saying that you don't sleep in that?"

"Of course I don't." Apollo muttered something about rock stars under his breath. "Anyway, you're not even dressing like me right. What's with those shoes?"

Klavier glanced down at his platform boots. "Just a touch of originality."

Apollo looked at him suspiciously. He looked so small down there, woefully absent of the four and a half inches of black patent leather that Klavier had strapped to his feet. Like an ant. "I'd never wear those to court, though."

Fiance Suguru, finally slips the most breath taking, glimmering ring on your pretty little finger with a slight adorable tremble in his hand while on his left knee. Nervously glances up at you with adoring eyes and basks in the beautiful thick globs of water gathering at the ends of your lashes, the subtle heat in your cheeks wooing his thumping heart.

"Sugu..." you could hardly mutter in between shorten breaths and small hiccups, fluttering your lashes between him and the gorgeous piece of jewelry hugging around your delicate ring finger.

"I know it may seem a bit cliche but...I'd figure it'd be the perfect time to finally propose to my favorite girl" he smiles ever so endearingly up at you, leaning forward and lifting your tender hand up to his lips to kiss the glistening stone that brought out your complexion.

It takes every living fiber in you not to ball out in ugly sobs and attack him with a full forced embrace, knocking the both of you onto the carpeted rug in the living room, by the cackling fireplace.

But you couldn't mount enough strength to not do so.

With your pumping adrenaline and overwhelming heartfelt feelings coursing through you like a clashing tidal wave, you couldn't help but do just that. Tossing yourself onto the chuckling obsidian, long haired man onto the fuzzy carpet. Consistently landing insistent kisses all over his flawless face, your palms firmly cupping his cheeks to keep him from straying from your kiss advances.

Suguru simply cackles under low hums with every plush, warm kiss he receives, holding you ever so closely into his now sprawled out figure amongst the soften rug beneath him. Two large hands drape around your stature and coil you in for a tight, loving embrace, encouraging and openly welcoming your fervent sincere kisses.

"Did you do it dad?!" you could hear both of the girls chant out from the middle of the stairway just a few feet away from the dim lit living room, tiny hands gripping fiercely onto the wooden railings as their heads pop over them with elevated eagerness and excitement. Nearly jumping up and down amongst the steps they were perched on.

You stop your impending smother of riveting kisses hastily and lean forward with a smiling Suguru in your arms, who was now completely covered in your lipstick, flaunting out your shimmering finger with your ring nestled around it to the giggling girls.

The three of you join in unison of elated screeches, watching the girls race down the rest of the steps and power drive into the two of you with pitched giggles and prompt hugs.

"AHH IT'S SO PRETTY MOM!!" Mimiko cheers while clinging onto your side, lifting your hand to get a closer look at the ring.

"IT SUITS YOU SO WELL! FINALLY DAD! TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH!" Nanako chirps with a lilt of sarcasm dipping in her excited tone, hugging onto a snickering Suguru, draping his long, burly limbs around the three of his favorite girls. Kissing each and every one of your heads with such tender and grace.
