list of things me, dumbass admin struggling through second CPA subject, explains to new guy at work who has a CPA:

telling him that bank charges are always debit because they're an expense

and that rent received should be credit because income

when we're the last two in the office and it's 5pm, telling him to finish up because i want to lock up and get out of here (stupid newbies thinking they should work overtime to "get ahead" lmao not a thing, kiddo, go home) (he's actually two months older than me but shhhh)

drafting tax returns

explaining the accounting when client buys an investment property (I would assume he knew this part but he saw me typing up the returns and he asked about it, so i woman-explained it)

teaching him to do adjusting journal entries for the rental income of a trust

going through reversal entries for accrued expenses (he did eventually correct me and discover the correct invoice to be picked up which was conveniently paid in the year we're doing)

things i want to explain to him:

when the water in the urn gets low, he can use the jug next to it to fill it up (pretty sure it's him using the urn water because he drinks tea, i'm onto him and at the end of the day, i keep finding the urn with dangerously low water level KETTLES AND URNS SHOULD NOT BE EMPTY OF WATER ESP IF THE URN IS TURNED ON)

that he can take lunch at any time

not to go crying to the bookkeeper for help because he doesn't want to bother me while i eat lunch at 1:15pm

Week 4 – Platforms

Introduction

Today (24/08/21) we discussed social media and the rise and fall of platforms used. Facebook is still by the leader in applications due to its open market and multiple use. In groups we worked on two activities focusing on the different content posted on various platforms.

For my weekly submissions I will be answering a range of questions such as:

- What the PR activity is that they are analysing

- Who is leading the campaign and who is involved

- What are the major tools being used (video, image, text, competition.)

- Where they saw it and if/how they engaged with it

- Critical reflection (How does it relate to class topics? What do you think about the activity? Was it effective? Positive or negative experience? Did you engage with it?

PR Analysis

The activity I will be analysing is the debut of Collingwood Football player Trent Bianco. An Instagram post dedicated to the debutant with an action shot compared to a video reel of highlights on Tiktok.

The Collingwood Football Club is leading the campaign in both posts via their official club���s account. The athlete is Trent Bianco.

For Instagram, the major tools being used is an action shot image and text in the post and for Tiktok it is video, sound and text.

These two posts were seen on their official club’s accounts on Instagram and Tiktok in which I follow. I have engaged in these posts by liking and reviewing comments.

These two posts relate to the class topic as it shows how platforms use the same content but display it in different ways and depending on what app it is they are using. I think the Tiktok video is really creative and a good idea but it doesn’t have the following of what their Instagram account does which leaves the photo to be more successful in views and value.

Legit footy q - do you think forward is Trent’s best role?

Oh Anon, that's a good question! I really don't know. At Collingwood, he started off as a small forward under Robert Harvey (well, he played like one game under Bucks idk did he play in Bucks' last game? Dunno)

Anyway he did alright and was one of the only shining lights of 2021, and then idk when Craig took over, Trent was back in the vflm and I think that was when his role was more on the wing or half back or both or

Then he got back in the senior team for the latter part of 2022, kicked that goal in the preliminary final (hmm maybe he was still forward then)

THEN in 2023 he was definitely wing, and Steele was mic'd up at training and he had Edward Cullen and Trent on either side of him and Steele said "these are my proteges" and I was so hopeful, this is it, Trent will get another contract, Steele definitely runs the list management and

But yeah he's great at celebrating goals (his own, see: Collingwood vs port Adelaide 2021 complete with BT commentary, and other people's goals, see: Collingwood vs Essendon July 2022) so he's a great fit for the forward line.

He kicked 5 goals on anzac day once.

He can't do inside mid or any kind of contest work though, the other players are too big and strong and he's too little but yeah he loves (goal)sneaking out the back (see: Collingwood vs Essendon July 2022) or picking the pockets of opponents (see: Trent's debut game complete with Panic At The Disco music and see also: Trent's first preliminary final)

This is a hard question because there's so much out there - probably not much on AO3 (unless you like Alex Fasolo and then you're in luck) and then Wattpad is just an insane mix of literally everything, mostly footballer x fake sister fics (which I, myself, am guilty of, and I'm sorry)

oh, also I only really read Saving Lotte Sullivan on Wattpad which I reckon is really good but I could be bias.

Maybe I'll just make a list of AO3 fics for each club (and yes, for the dogs, it'll be anything written by AFL whores about bailey smith) and a lot of this is just tooting my horn, I am sorry.

Sydney?

Sydney!!!!

Omg Anon it was so cool, you should've been there, it's like a foreign city. The trains are two storey, the seats can move, the weather was alright Saturday and then a bit cold at night and then BOILING HOT on Sunday. There's like no shade at the footy so we just fried in the sun and tried to use the Sydney pride thing as protection

You can debit card use on the trains, it's so good but I don't think they've charged me the full amount yet I don't knowwww (haven't checked since lunch time)

Collingwood lost which was the only downside. Paul McCartney was great though even if he did sing his new songs and I had no idea what was going on but still, the Beatle songs are great and he can do whatever he wants, he seems like such a great dude. Good for him. He was just doing little dances and telling us stories between songs of early days of the Beatles and about John and George and it was really interesting to learn all that!!!

Also I don't photo take but this warranted a photo and was my highlight of the trip:

Tell me a story about Trent Biancno’s life, Laura version

Once upon a time there was a boy named Trent Daniel Bianco and he was born to the crown prince of an entire country named Western Australia.

He grew up with three older siblings: Christian, Adam and Nell. Adam was a bit different and Nell was busy designing her own skate park, so Trent looked up to Christian the most, the cool older brother who gifted Trent hand-me-down pies guernseys and let Trent play with his pies toys.

Trent loved his dad very much but like his siblings, he was heartbroken when his dad was traded to Carlton. Only Adam paid any attention to their dad's career at Carlton, Nell turned the garage into a skate park, and Christian was so shattered he signed a 7 year deal to be a demon.

But Trent kept his collingwood dream alive, doing projects at school designing Collingwood jumpers and shaping pancakes into magpies at Lazy Moe's.

He was eventually drafted to the magpies, a few short months after his dad retired.

From his debut in 2021, it was only up from there, goal assisting Jamie's match winning goal after the siren in 2022 and then playing in his first finals series, kicking his own goal in the preliminary final. If only he'd kicked one more and he'd have been playing in a grand final. Ah well. Always the next year.

With his older sister trading to the pies to look after him, Trent knew 2023 would be his year.

But it is Trent Bianco!!! Trent is the best Collingwood player of all time, even better than his father Alex Fasolo and we're so proud of our little Trent and definitely not bias in any way.

I was showing Charlotte the Collingwood team poster last night and I'm teaching her their names and she's like pointing to them saying "he's smiling! He's happy!" And I'm like "yes because they're magpies, they play for Collingwood" (this isn't brainwashing shut up don't report me to child services) and she pointed to Trent "he's smiling and happy!" And I'm like "because he's the best player!"

Never let me have children of my own.
