Halloween- Adam Stanheight x gn! reader

ALLLL RIGHT!! It is officially Halloween and I, as a lover of Halloween, needed to celebrate it. Could I have gone down a spooky route? yes, yes I could've indeed. Did I choose to go down one that involves getting high and slow dancing instead? Yes, yes I did indeed.

My requests also close soon but they'll probably reopen around the middle of next month--I might have a holiday event in the works, I have no idea yet but either way holiday themed reqs are encouraged and accepted around just about any holiday lol

Fic type- this is super fluffy!

Warnings- there are mentions of weed in the context of an edible that Adam and the reader split, mentions of the bathroom trap (all of my fics that weren't requested are post-bathroom trap because it's how I delude myself into believing Adam survived lol) and scott tibbs is a bad friend (it's only mentioned, but he calls the traumatic event known as the bathroom trap 'metal' when he visits adam because, while I haven't watched the scott tibbs doc, given that I've read the wiki it feels like something scott would do)

For Adam, Halloween had pretty much stopped being a huge deal when he stopped trick-or-treating with the coming of high school. From then on, November first was his ticket--all of the Halloween candy was marked down so that it could be rid from the shelves and allow for the Christmas stock to come in.

Adam would take some of the money he got from being a PI and blow it on variety packs so that he had something more than microwaveable popcorn to snack on whenever he chose to sit down and watch a movie, and also because most of it was pretty delicious and he'd be lying if he said he didn't have a slight sweet tooth in October.

Halloween had never really been special. Even after the bathroom trap, his first Halloween after the experience and after a solid week spent in the hospitals recovery unit, it still wasn't.

Well--that was, of course, until you showed up at his apartment with a grin, a bottle of american whiskey, some food for when you inevitably got the munchies and an edible for the two of you to split.

The two of you split the edible and took it while sitting on the couch, your ear against Adams chest to hear the way that his heart kept on beating and his arm around your shoulders, hand idly moving through your hair in a manner that was almost enough to make you tired.

Adam felt it when the edible hit and it was clear you did, too. It always made you both relaxed--Adam liked it after the trap not for the act of getting high but because it soothed his anxieties. Such made him crack the joke that he liked it for it's medicinal purposes from time to time, but Adam wasn't thinking about how chilled out he was, or even about the fact that it had been a few weeks since the bathroom trap and he'd turned out okay-ish in the aftermath.

No, he was thinking about you. And, as you typically did, you were thinking about him.

You'd been Adams rock almost as long as Scott had, and even then he'd stopped talking to Scott after he'd left the hospital--he'd visited twice and both times, instead of acknowledging the sensitivity of the situation, told Adam that it was 'metal' that he'd survived his trap--but you'd stuck around.

Your relationship had been the classic childhood friends to lovers--met in the second grade, started dating the year before Adam dropped out of high school, and there you were at twenty-six, together for a solid eleven years and, before Adams trap, at the point where Adam was boxing up his stuff to move into your place while debating proposing.

He grin as you adjust yourself, meeting your gaze as you grin back at him.

"Hi," he greets.

"I love you," you blurt with a laugh. "I mean--yeah. I do. It's not just the weed, I promise."

Adam laughs a little, pressing a peck to your lips. "I wanna dance," he said. "Not--not a jig. Never a jig or anything very fast--nothing too speedy. Just wanna slow dance, you know?"

You press your nose against his, one hand sliding up his chest to cup the back of his head.

"There's no music," you say. "We can't dance if there's no music, Adam."

"Oh, but we can," Adam stands, offers you his hand. "I happen to have a walkman from our high school days with a cheesy mixtape I made you, and I also have one that's just the songs we used to slow dance to before dear old dad kicked me out. We're high, and we're going to dance because this is the only time we'll have to do so before we get the munchies and blow through the snacks you bought within an hour."

You laugh a little, sighing to yourself as Adam leaves you standing in the middle of his living room while he sprints to his room.

Two minutes pass, and he returns, Walkman and a pair of wired earbuds in hand.

He puts in a tape, pockets the walkman and offers you one of the earbuds with a crooked, handsome smile.

"May I have this dance?"

"I fell in love with an idiot," you accept the earbud, though, taking Adams hand and intwining your fingers as you do. "No regrets, though."

"You'd be a fool to have regrets, my darling," Adam says, putting on a tone of grandeur. "I am the best of the best in my apartment that is more likely than not infested by roaches, and with a job that barely lets me afford groceries unless I buy them from cheap corner stores and shop the bargains in the produce aisle of every Aldi in Jersey."

You laugh, and Adams arm goes around your waist while one of yours finds his shoulder. You drop his hand, letting yourself wrap him in a hug as the two of you begin to sway.

Silence befalls the two of you. It's the kind of silence you both appreciate, the kind wherein there is no awkwardness, only comfort. You love him, and he loves you, and realistically in that moment, that is the only thing that matters to either of you.

Adams eyes fall closed, and he hugs you just a bit tighter. You respond by doing the same, and your dance becomes less of a dance--it's more or less just two people hugging now, swaying along to the sound of the music that thrums through the Walkman and into their ears.

"I love you, Y/N," he whispers. "I've made a lot of mistakes in my life, but falling in love with you hasn't been one of them. Thank you for letting me do that."

You laugh slightly. Adam fights the urge to kiss you while he basks in how it sounds.

"I love you too," you respond. "Loving you is the best thing I have ever done, Adam. No regrets."

Adam laughs that time, pulling away enough to press a kiss to your forehead.

It is Adam Stanheights first Halloween post bathroom trap, and he starts to think, for the first time since he was fifteen, that Halloween is not a day to be spent at home, watching bad horror movies from the 70s. Maybe it's a day to get high with the love of his life, slow dance for a few songs, and then help you eat your way through the snacks you've brought along once the munchies kick in.

Either way--however Halloween is meant to be spent, Adam likes that he gets to spend it with you.

hello bee!! Had a tiiiiiny, baby-size depressive episode + panic attack over the weekend. But GREAT news, I created an infinity cube out of Lego while in the trenches. Autism win.

I did have to upgrade my little stim-toy carrying case, since. If you remember me, I’m the anon who mentioned ordering a pinned moth and set of magnet stims when the whole Wilbur situation started overflowing. So my Altoids tin of fidgets got too small after I suddenly had two new ones within a few days, lol. Found a good zipper-container for them. Little spinny-ring, Lego infinity cube, and a set of stick magnets, nice and portable now.

My moth is still on the way :) I’m excited for him to come home.

I started writing on a few of my wips again. It’s been slow going, especially with university. But it’s nice going back to the stories I’ve been working on. I still have to build my stamina up again, I am finding it difficult to sit and write for hours at a time, utilizing his character for as long as I used to. But I’m getting better :)

Just have to give it time, work on it slowly. And it still IS fun. The character is different than he is, and while it’s a bit rattling, it’s just part of the process.

It’s not really an ask. Just an update. But I do feel better than I did a a few weeks ago :) I have some tea. My fidgets. A moth on the way. A haircut appointment in a few days. Found a couple new video-essay channels to watch.

Remember to take care of yourself, too, Bee <3 thank you for looking after all of us and our thoughts. So excited to see more of your writing. I think I’ve gone back and reread this year’s Halloween-special fic six times or so. It’s been a big inspiration for a horror-y SBI writing project of my own :) the suspenseful writing is just so fun.

yes, just give it time. it's great that you've already started trying to work on your wips again, but don't feel like you have to rush it. while I mostly feel settled about things, I'm still waiting to go back to trying to write any of my wips. take it slow and just be mindful of how you're feeling and all that.

Halloween countdown day 20 — listen to a Halloween playlist

There was a tradition that had started when you and Jake were 16, that you still carried out today. The annual tradition of garnering some kind of Halloween themed onesies or get ups and going to grab as much bingeable candy as possible, was one you both looked forward to every year.

It was a great time for you and Jake to get into the Halloween spirit and get ready for the titular day where it would all come to a head. And given that this was the first year you were going to be celebrating with your alphas, the urgency to get going and get on was even more intense.

“Spooky, scary skeletons send shivers down your spine. Shrieking skulls will shock your soul, seal your doom tonight.” It started with a great playlist, and the kind of goofy yet spooky themed music blasting from the Bose speakers Jake bought.

“'Cause spooky, scary skeletons shout startling, shrilly screams. They'll sneak from their sarcophagus and just won't leave you be.” You sung to the lyrics and crept down the stairs with as much caution as you could before you attempted to all out taco Jake, throwing him to the ground.

“Baby bear!” Jake caught you and rolled, pinning you under his body.

“Not bear,” you grinned and kissed his cheek, gripping his shoulders, “baby cat-“

“Skelekitty.” Jake leaned down and nuzzled your nose with his. “I love it.”

“Skelekitty-“

“What did you two break?!” The alpha’s voice coming from upstairs had stirred your curiosity and natural penchant for getting into trouble, making Jake scramble off of you first.

As he stood, he pulled the hood of his onesie up over his head and then helped you stand. He first dusted you off and then himself. Jake pat you down with a boyish grin on his face, paying special attention to your breasts while acting completely innocent.

“You’re not fooling anyone” You chirped and then immediately squeaked in surprise when you had turned, being frightened by Steve standing dangerously close to you.

“Mischievous today, aren’t you?” The corner of Steve’s lips twitched, then he smirked and looked you both up and down, admiring how comfortable and cute you both had looked.

“Going out?” Steve raised an eyebrow in your direction.

“Its an annual tradition to blast halloween music, put on some themed something and then grab Halloween candy before its all gone.” Jake exhaled in a huff before he ran his fingers through his hair.

“You mean for the kids trick or treating…?” Steve suggested like he had already known that wasn’t what you meant.

“…yes…” Jake answered slowly, cupping your cheeks to make you now your head in agreement to what he was saying. “…for the kids…yes…”

“Definitely not because we always have a heat cycle around halloween and definitely not because Jake can eat his weight in candy and-“

“I’m going with you.” Ransom’s cut the interrogation, he stepped by both of you appearing as if he was going to some fashionable boutique.

“Stick it to the little bitch down the street who thinks she can show us up.” He muttered and swiped his keys from the counter. “As if she thinks having a nuclear family makes her better than us.”

“Ransom?” Jake reached for him only to find his hand snatched before being pulled into his side.

“We’re outdoing her, we’re gonna wipe the-“

“Are you in competition with our neighbour over halloween candy? Are you really that petty?” You questioned ransom, stepping by him and freezing again when you felt a hand crack against your ass.

“You get your fine little ass, kitten. Now get your tight ass in the car so we can go.” Ransom kept a tight hold on Jake, tugging him behind him.

thoughts and feelings about the halloween specials?

not sure if this is like, thoughts on spooktacular as a concept as a whole (which i guess can be summed up as "used to be my favorite thing on the channel, slowly losing interest") or on all of them as a whole, so i'm just going to uhhhhhhhhh. yeah

Spooktacular i - obviously it's not amazing because it's the first one and in that sense also falters story-wise but like. dude it's so much better than anything else on the channel in 2016. it feels like during that one week break something clicked and the channel stopped being mid (the last few rips before title theme and ending were also p solid but the stuff before that. yeeeeeaaaahhhh) it was cool that that was woody's first main appearance. also the album art had no right being that good. otherwise its mostly ok yea that sure is the first one

Spooktacular ii - uhhh feature presentation is a little silly i like it but it's also. yeahhh. what was the deal with them putting woodman like that. and otherwise it was mostly just spooktacular 1..... 2

Spooktacular iii - Lol. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah this is one of my favorite things on the channel in general. I could talk about it for ages. It's so awesome and i think it will quite literally never be beat, atleast in terms of spooktaculars. the writing is a little stupid but it GETS GOOFY WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S SO STUPIDLY CHARMING!!!!!!!! IT'S A WHOLE EPISODE and the amount of time put into it is so clear. i love the original song with lyrics in it so much i ripped it. IT'S EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm sure if it didn't exist i would probably be a different person. AND IT WILL NEVER BE BEAT. whatever. the rips are like the same as usual but that DAMN MURDER NOT TOO NICE! whatever. whatever. 4/10

Spooktacular iv - uhhh it was fine. i really wish they did more with the theming it felt kinda like missed potential but atleast the banner was AWESOME one of my favorite banners on the channel ever. shoutouts to this one for being like the only one that actually ends on halloween. also the moment the yankin takeover happened i pointed out this video and like asked if she was the like fallen angel or whatever mentioned in it BEFORE curse of the fallen angel was even announced. kind of badass of me. otherwise yeah kinda nothing

spooktacular v - it's fun! i liked cotfa, it didnt take itself very seriously but it was enjoyable to listen through. kinda an initial highlight to me of my main problems with siiva writing as a whole but the fact it was an audiostory worked in its favor and the dynamic between the 3 main characters was fun. halloween events need to stop lasting so long though like, the fuck do you mean this went on until november 13th?!?!?

spooktacular vi - it's fun i guess, but not much more than that. i liked the videos, they were goofy, david s pumpkins is a fun thing to have as the reocurring joke, but it was clearly not something that was given much thought and a result kinda blends in my head as "A spooktacular" i appreciate the mspaint videos existing though. but yeah it's. just "tradition" at this point

spooktacular vii - god i wish i actually cared at this point dude. it's not bad at all and i'm sure the music stuff is fun but lore has been gone for like, almost a year and now that it's back it's just. a little nothingburger? i have a lot of small complaints i could make about the story this year but i just can't really bother anymore. it's fine. this is all fine! i'm losing my capacity to care about this channel and it's all okay. takane is a nothing protagonist on her own. the writing is kinda subpar at worst and average at best. all of it feels completely like missed potential. nothing about it feels like, yknow, siivagunner. and i cant even be bothered to care anymore (i just skimmed through the last 2 videos). idk man. it's not "bad" in the slightest but a lot of aspects of it represent things and quirks about the writing on this channel ive never really cared about. i think maybe 5 years of being into something and having it never really do anything for you might be doing something to me to the point where i don't really care anymore. this just seems to be becoming a good excuse to let it go because it doesn't say much to me anymore.

Digimon Adventure 02 (Blind Watch) - Episode 17

Wait...I literally just remembered that the parents (plus a bunch of other people) saw all the digital world stuff by the final episode of season 1. What exactly is the IRL awareness of digimon?? The kids have to hide that they're going to the digital world from their parents, but maybe that's more because it's dangerous? Or was there some memory wipe thing I'm forgetting about. (This ramble triggered by a line in the dub where Matt says "Don't tell me Myotismon destroyed the studio again!?" to his dad...)

Anyway, putting my confusion aside, I really enjoyed this one. It had the good kind of callbacks instead of some cheap repeats. It was especially nice to see the S1 kids finally sit down with the new kids and tell their story. Probably should have done that already by now, but better late than never!

There was...no battle in this one?? Wild...

Notes:

-I think the movie director in the beginning of the episode had the same VA as Joe. Low key distracting.

-I liked the concept of not just a ghost being caught on camera, but a ghost that changes its movements every time you play the video back. Not sure I've seen that done before...

-Very heartwarming that they've turned Aug. 1st into a special day of remembrance amongst their friend group. I've seen fans making posts about the date before and maybe I'll start celebrating it too! (I'm an August baby so it feels extra special).

-Aside from Bakemon who doesn't count, I guess this is our first ghost digimon? Really unfair that Wizarmon didn't get to be reincarnated like everyone else :'( I wonder if we'll see him again?

-I sighed a small sigh of relief when we got hat!Mimi back. More importantly, her ridiculous pink/starry hair is gone! I hope this isn't just a temporary change. She looks really cute with pig tails

-Didn't really think about the difference between living with a single dad vs. a single mom until Takeru and Yamato had a discussion about it. Is every single mom in this series a homemaker...? (Nothing wrong with that, but it would be awkward if there wasn't at least one mom with a job).

-They censored the curry in the dub lol. American kids in the early 2000s didn't know what curry was I guess

-This episode featured a bunch of MD players to the point where it felt suspiciously like an ad. I had to google what an MD was and it's a mini-disc (like GameCube game sized). Of course, they just called it a "CD player" in the dub

-Dead at the dub line "Don't mind him dad, he's just not a happy little buffalo!" LOL (American kids also don't know what sutras are apparently)

-They addressed a question I had in my earlier post about how they were stuck using the computer lab to enter the digi-world. Koushiro finally figured out that they could connect from any computer and that the D3 device was more important. (Honestly, they should have thought of this sooner, but I guess everyone's busy with school lol).

-It felt kind of weird to me how Wizarmon was showing up on TV to get Tailmon's attention, but we never really see the kids watching TV or catching any of these appearances. They kinda just stumble across him instead because Tailmon's Wizarmon's senses start tingling. Oh well, all's well that ends well...

-Very rare episode where there's no battle and the digimon only evolve to their rookie forms. I feel like this shows that the writers trusted the kids enough to sit through an episode without all the usual stuff, so that's nice.

-I'm going to go ahead and qualify this as a Halloween episode because ooky spooky

-Wizarmon continues Gennai's tradition of giving super vague and unhelpful information. Thanks for nothing! (I guess he was mainly hinting that Ken is a victim of "the darkness." Okay, Kingdom Hearts...)

Thoughts on KRD's Season 4 Cinematic

So I wanted to get this out as soon as Season 4 was released, but I realized that I wanted to actually play the game before writing anything, so that’s why this is “late” lol. This was also WAY longer than I thought it would be, so I’m going to tag posts like this in the future.

But here it is! My thoughts on the Season 4 cinematic, and maybe a few theories.

Thoughts below the cut!

So, this Season is obviously Halloween-themed since this season’s duration covers the autumn months and of course Halloween itself, so it’s no surprise we’re including supernatural stuff.

In the beginning, we’re introduced to a scene of the ghostly population living in the town they inhabit, and then almost immediately the Rabbit Hole and her lackeys rush through the crowd and towards the looming castle in the background. That can’t be good.

We then see one of the new characters this Season, Draky, who makes a return from past Kartrider games. I don’t know much about him, so I’m pretty happy he’s back so I can get to know him! (Even if his story may or may not have been changed.)

He’s seen doing some sort of ritual, which was almost completed, but gets interrupted by the Rabbit Hole and co. who seem to be after that bell Draky has. A chase begins!

It may just be me, but I noticed this cinematic uses its time well, as it mainly focuses on what’s happening and the action instead of special effects or stuff that doesn’t entirely matter, if you get what I’m saying. I like that! It makes it easier to focus on what’s going on without getting distracted too much by other things.

Also, the animations are still very high-quality, and while I do prefer the more cartoon-y style they had for other collab animations, it’s starting to grow on me a bit honestly.

So Draky gets chased by them, leading them through all the twists and turns of the dark castle. Whatever that bell has inside it is important to him, and the Rabbit Hole is dead-set on getting it.

And one of Rabbit Hole’s minions actually falls out a window from going too fast I guess lmao. It got a laugh out of me because of how sudden it was because damn RIP dude 💀

And just as Draky’s about to get out of danger, the other two manage to stop him (why he couldn’t just zoom past them is beyond me.) They manage to corner him, and when he flies away as a bat, the Rabbit Hole throws a water bomb at him to stop him and steal… whatever essence is inside the bell. I have an idea of what it could be, but I’ll say more about it later.

This was a tiny bit sad, I suppose. Why did they do that to the poor guy? They must be using it for something important if they went through all that effort chasing Draky, but we probably won't get any answers about that until the next cinematic (or better, Scenario Mode.)

So with the Rabbit Hole and gang gone, Draky is left alone mad as ever, and upset. He bats the bell away, but magically, a ghost manages to arise from it. Spirit Kid! She’s also a new character this season. (She’s absolutely adorable, and I like her design very much. I guess KRD heard me wanting Tiera’s hat to emote and said “We’ll give you one better” and made a whole ghost that’s 60% hat 💀)

Seeing how upset he is, Spirit Kid tries to cheer him up and gives him the bell that he smacked away. This doesn’t make him completely happy, but at least he’s not as upset anymore with the reminder. The cinematic ends on this note, with Draky looking out the castle as it pans away. That should be it, right?

WRONG.

Because then we get another small animated clip after the main animation, and it officially reveals Miso as the Rabbit Hole, as well as the identity of her two followers… sort of!

Let me tell you I was actually happily surprised when I saw this part with a friend of mine. Not at Miso being the Rabbit Hole, but at the other two. (I will never not make fun of KRD for accidentally spoiling Miso as Rabbit Hole through a decal on the shop for like 2 days before catching their mistake it was hilarious)

Obviously, the one on the right is Rex, no one could dismiss that from his iconic outfit, but then the one on the left was a little harder to identify for me. I’m pretty sure that’s Derek, but that only leaves me with more questions for the future...

FINAL THOUGHTS (and Last minute theories)

Honestly, out of the cinematic intros we’ve gotten so far, I think this one is definitely up there because it’s the most story-driven we’ve received, and I always love learning more about KRD’s plot and lore, even if it’s bite-sized. It just makes this game more enjoyable for me as I play, knowing there's stuff going on in the background as I'm having fun racing. I can't wait for more!

I have a few possible ideas (theories) about what occurred during the animation so I’ll leave those here:

Spirit Kid’s whole deal is that she’s the little sister of Draky, but without her memories. That energy the Rabbit Hole stole from the bell is what I believe to be the rest of her- all the memories and basically what would’ve made her completely alive if they hadn’t so rudely interrupted Draky. Without it, she’s just a ghost without a body.

That minion on the left at the end of the cinematic next to Miso/RabbitHole was racing Derek, we saw them both at the same place during the WKC Season. Does this mean this Derek is a copy of some sort? Is that the real Rex, or is that also a copy? Possibly, but there’s also another idea to entertain: They’re from the same place Miso is, the future. According to the in-game description, Miso’s from the future and has come back to cause misery, so it’s possible those two were convinced (or forced) to join her crew and travel back to the past. But of course there's also the possibility of those both being the real Derek and Rex, and if that's the case, they better start explaining themselves >:(

And not really a theory but I noticed the description of the Rabbit Hole’s personal kart mentioned something called “Hexnium” and that it was powered by it/enabled it to time travel. I think it's a new material unique to KRD? I don't really have anything to say about it I just noticed it and thought it was a neat little detail.

Chapter 32 - thoughts.

Hello everyone!! As promised, here am I... with a lil bit of insights regarding the latest chapter! Which I recommend reading first before going through with this post, unless of course, you don't mind getting out of context spoilers 😅 (you can find it over here :>)

Now that that's set, beware of spoilers under the cut, (this is also... not proofread, very candid yes yes) as well as a long post, and enjoy!

Let’s start with the star of the show, Minako’s and Eiichi’s backstory!

At first I wanted to go into super detail, because I just love doing those things haha, but I decided to be somewhat brief with it, keeping out most of the things I was going to put in (mainly from Minako’s side) since we're going to see them in a future chapter anyways, and because I’m writing character profiles!—whatever I want to add, but don’t seem necessary in the main story, will be there. I only have Ren’s, Y/N’s, Haruko, Hitomi’s and Mariya’s profile right now😭 I’m sorry hahahaha the next one will be Naoaki I believe.

Anyways, going back to the story…

I’ve been wanting to write this for a while now! I’m like a complete sucker for functional families hahahahah you can see it on the other one-shots I’ve written (the Halloween one, and valentine’s special, and one more that is on the works too!) as well as some of the tropes I ended up putting in this chapter.

I always wanted their relationship to be good, if not perfect. Like, no struggles, just complete happiness. I don't care if it's not realistic, I’m tired of hard and turmoiled relationships, theirs was to be nothing less than smooth sailing from the moment they met, to when they decided to get together and eventually marry and have a thousand kids!!!! OUR PARENTS ARE HAPPY AND IN LOVE—AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS.

It was also a good excuse to finally give Eiichi somewhat of an actual personality, since all I’ve presented of him was a drunken mess who was drowning in regret for all that happened to Y/N—as well as give a justification to his inaction: he never was a confrontational person to begin with, until he met Minako. After meeting her he became more and more confident in himself... which is why he crumbled when she was gone :(.

I wanted his character to be… kind of a walking stereotypical contradiction/irony. In the sense that he’s shy, introverted and doesn’t really like doing lots of social activities, but is super into dark stuff, horror, heavy metal, I don’t know, you name it, he likes it. In fact, Y/N’s name a long, long time ago was reference to that 😊 (It’s from a Japanese horror movie, quite famous character, can y’all guess? 👀)

Minako also got to be developed a bit more! She's only been mentioned here and there, and that wasn't enough to show what her personality is like, besides, she's been used as nothing more than Eiichi’s boogeyman, and a constant sorrowful memory for everyone in the family ☹ and I wanted to give her a proper introduction lol.

She's essentially the typical supportive, ray of sun gf to contrast him haha. She’s the extroverted person that ends up adopting an introverted one, although they ended up in love :')

Their dynamic would be kind of like this:

However, the more comfortable Eiichi and Minako felt with one another, the roles kind of started to switch haha. More when they had their first kid together, from there Eiichi would be the one to spend most of his energy and time hyping and doting on them ❤️ Leader of the L/N clan faded into the background lol.

Writing their hobbies/likes and how they affected their children was certainly very, very enjoyable to put in the story 🥺 ugh, it's so sweet!!

The aspect of music was primarily from Minako, and I always imagined it like that. However, I wanted to create some kind of connection between Eiichi and her… which I didn’t know how to make until I got to see a biographical movie from… you guessed it, Dio!

I was aware of him due to my absolute fondness of JJBA (y'all need to watch it, its amazing. Josuke best jojo), but I never did research of him because I got one look at him.... and I got a bit scared haha 😅 the genre of heavy metal was never of my interest, so I kind of just walked away from it. But after seeing the documentary I was taken aback by his talent, work, and life. He was just… very inspiring, in more ways than one, and because that that I decided to make him Eiichi's favorite artist, and the reason of their first meeting.

Minako’s fascination with Michael Jackson would come directly inspired from an aunt (slightly referenced over here), who liked MJ very very much— I still remember how she was crying when he passed away, oh damn, that was so long ago...

I was also inspired by a teacher I had in high school that loooooved Chayanne, and some of the students, even my classmates lol, would plaster pictures of him wherever it was possible on their projects, papers, whatever it was they didn't care, just to get extra points hahahah damn, we really setting up a bad example for the next generation 😂 (If anyone wonders... I never did anything like that because she scared me 😭 like she could be cool from to time, but it was hard to know when, and since I always liked to keep a reasonable distance from the teachers... yeah)

Now… I guess it's worth mentioning the one thing I didn't like writing about their meeting... and that would be Eiichi's fear of being rejected because of the things he liked, and what subsequently became the first stepping stone in their friendship.

I'm aware of the disdain some people have towards goths, punks, metalheads, all that stuff, but to me that's just... ridiculous lol and I don't really like indulging into stereotypes— to me it's all like who cares if someone likes them!! Haha but then I remember that one of my brothers got arrested just because one of the neighbors didn’t like how he was dressed 💀 (I think he had a mohawk, but my brother denies it... and my mother says otherwise, so who knows the truth?) so… yeah, had to pull that one out for the story. Kind of ridiculous, really, but it happens.

As well as the negative connotation regarding gamers. Now, that... I have more of a personal experience due to my own hobbies and the job I have. People get weird/rude real quick as soon as they find out you're a woman. I won't go into detail, but I don't blame Y/N being like NOPE I'm out of socializing in that community lol.

From there… the entirety of Eiichi's and Minako's relationship.

This chapter was specifically written to make a comparison between their story, and that of Y/N’s with Naoya. Why reacts the way she does towards him, and why she heavily gravitates towards Naoaki—it’s the closest she has to what she’s looking for, so no surprise there! (also Naoya is a piece of shit, no one would tolerate him whether they had other upbringing and that is a FACT [please take my words lightly haha, I know there's many, many circumstances that would prove me otherwise])

Writing their story made me sad ngl, mainly because of Y/N’s perspective. She gets grow in such a loving household, having supportive parents who constantly show love for each other and their kids.... only to be pulled into a complete nightmare. She’s completely stripped of her life and given nothing in return.

She dreamed, wished, prayed to get to live something like her parents, seeing it happen first with Ren, somewhat with Hinata, and the constant reassurance from Eiichi and Minako that she’d eventually find the love of her life too, gave her high hopes that it would happen, only to be unfortunately proven wrong.

The closest thing she had almost fulfilling her expectations would be Naoaki, although she’s incredibly hesitant to accept it completely, since being married is a huge obstacle, leading her to stop from doing many things, such as accepting she’s starting to like him—Y/N thinks that once she accepts her feelings, either saying them out or even thinking “I have feelings for Naoaki” will push her past the point of no return, and she can't afford to put herself in a more vulnerable position (doesn't mean she'll stop being with him lol she needs it for her mental health!!)

Anyways, back to the good part:

There’s lots of things Eiichi did to fuel Minako’s fascination with MJ. Starting from the things that were already stated in the chapter, to others I decided to keep out to keep the chapter a bit short haha.

Eiichi would buy jackets that would resemble Michael’s classic ones, like the Thriller jacket, or the military ones, because once he got over his disdain for him (senseless dislike lol) he really liked his style. He wanted to keep it subtle however, so as to not appear he was cosplaying him or something, but Minako immediately detected it!! Nothing escapes her eyes—or her hands, since she’d steal them from him to wear them herself, even if they fitted her bigger. She didn't care, she was living her dream lol.

I… don’t know why I have this idea, but I keep thinking that when Eiichi decided to ask Minako if she wanted to be his girlfriend, it would happen after he took her out to the movies or something, eat somewhere fancy, and then, he’d take her to a private, romantic place… to sing this song.

He would be practicing and practicing to get the song right! Maybe he got some singing classes, who knows, just to get the note right. He wants it to be perfect to impress her and get her to say yes, although it ended up being completely different hahaha flustering him and making him stumble with his own words…

However, Minako was completely enamored by his gestures and didn’t take her long to say yes to being his girlfriend. (The proposal must've been insane)

The other thing that I noticed while making the timelines and just… browsing through MJ’s discography, was that Ren, and Y/N, were born when two of his albums were released, Bad and Dangerous respectively. How about that?? What if Minako, when she noticed that, was like:

“We must have a kid per album” Minako said, determined.

“Are you crazy?!” Eiichi would cry—although the idea of having a large family with her warmed his heart.

Ugh, I’m telling yall, they love each other so so very much.

Now I’m kinda regretful of having already chosen the circumstances of her death hahah :’( oh well. What’s done is done.

And here as a thing he would've definitely done lol probably pre-dating in order to score some points lmao. However, it sounds very much like a dad joke.

And going back to Minako, something tells me that she would've brought JJBA into his life through it's reference of Dio. Let’s say she was looking for something to gift him, she went to this novelty store, and the employee was like “is there something you’re looking for?”

“Yeah, something about Dio”

“Oh… ok” he takes her to the (let's say there's one) manga section, gives her the first tome of Phantom Blood, and leaves. She glances at it, confused as to how this could relate to the singer, but ends up buying it after reading the first few chapters and finds it somewhat entertaining.

“Huh?! The real Dio would never do that!!” Eiichi would cry after reading the first chapter. R.I.P Danny. “What—what is this?!”

“Ah, nothing much. Just wanted to show you 😊”

He ends up liking the story unironically, the kids might’ve seen his collection here and there… who of the three would like JoJo the most?

Also, is anyone surprised Ren ended up being obsessed with the Spice Girls and their merch? He grew up watching their parents indulge in their hobbies without limits, so naturally he had to be on it too! Let's be real tho, the moment Ren said:

“Mama, papa, I like this group.”

His parents were like “say no more” and bought him everything they could find. Minako painted Ren’s hair blonde when he decided he wanted to look like Ginger, and Eiichi helped him cover every inch of his room with posters. Oh, the elders were not happy, but they didn't care lol.

Also those awkward moments where:

Ren: Who do you like papa? *Shows him a Spice Girls’ poster*

Eiichi: I, uh—I don’t think I should be answering that.

Ren: *frown* you’re no fun.

Eiichi: (not wanting to upset his baby) No! I mean—I like—I like that one!! *Points to a random spice girl, posh* See? I like them too!

Ren: Hmm (disappointed he didn’t choose ginger) And you mama?

Minako: Whichever you like! 😊

Ren: yay 😊

Eiichi: ???? But I—I thought— What did I do wrong?!?!

Minako would also be doing this to cheer him up, probably when Ginger left the group.

Ren replaced the death horns with the peace sign immediately after discovering them, Hinata and Y/N replicating their cool older brother subsequentially. Their father’s legacy effectively forgotten.

And of course… the topic that seems to have caught quite the interest… K-pop.

I didn’t expect that much interest really! But I should’ve seen it coming haha, it is quite popular after all.

Y/N liking Super Junior was… random, I guess haha. I don’t really know much of kpop per se, so I had to put a group that I somewhat like/knew in order to be able to talk about them :’)

And.... because I know some are wondering... this is the member she thought cute:

Y/N just thought of him to be... you know, cute. I don't know how to explain it hahah he's like, he has a rounder face I think 😅 and she'd gush about wanting to pinch his cheeks or something, to which Mr. cheekbones Nanami Kento wouldn't know how to react lol

Moving onto the appearance department, this is how I envisioned Minako to look like the first time they met:

Minako ended up growing her hair long as years went by, but when Eiichi and her met, that's how it was. Still can't get over the fact that when he first saw her her was like "WHO IS THIS BOY?" until he figured out it was a girl lmao. And then, fell in love. What an unexpected development.

And with Eiichi... I have yet to figure out how I want him to look. Idk, dorky maybe. (Minako: I love that shit!!!) To me, he's already old hahahah

Anyways, now that their story is explained, the difference between Naoya’s upbringing and Y/N’s is very, very obvious. From how their parents met, willingly entered a relationship with one another, to how they wanted to have children… it’s clear that Naoya would’ve never understood the actual significance of her words and why she could be affected by their absence.

I dare to say that he even thought that their story was a bit ridiculous, fantasy-like. Parents don’t fall in love and have families out of the goodness of their heart—kids are only to ensure the future of the clan, nothing more.

The topics that Y/N’s conversation brought were ones outside of Naoya’s understanding, HOWEVER hehe, it’s going to represent something important in the future I am dying to write so…. Let’s wait and see.

I dislike writing the asshole Naoya after these sensitive parts. As Y/N said, what a way to ruin an already awful day.

Well, it wouldn’t be him if he didn’t say anything off-putting. Taking us to the somewhat objectifying comment he said about her? Damn. I just knew I wanted it to be nasty, and hope I was able to convey that, as well as remind us that there’s still a long way to go through if he’s ever going to change :’( man, as much as I want things to work, I’m out here rooting for anyone else but him 😂

Talking about rooting for others, Y/N getting the sweets for anyone else but him was suuuuuper gratifying to write/read.

Hot damn!! You can even see the moment she was like “Wait a minute, I can use Naoya to my advantage and repay what Naoaki and my staff has done for me” hahahah he was bragging about his money and complaining how he didn't understand why she was being shy with him and what not—but the moment she goes ahead and does that, he's like wait, no, not like that!

Now straying a bit from that… I wanted to reference Mai and her amazing memory, simply because I can’t get over the fact that she remembered a promise she made with Maki when she was just a kid. Now, of course, I haven’t lived a day in her shoes, but I’m still amazed cause I don’t remember much of when I was a kid lol.

So yeah, this chapter was a combination of things I wanted to show, Y/N’s upbringing, how it conflicts with Naoya’s, the reason why she’s so attached to Naoaki, and how Naoya isn’t as detached as one might think. Whether it for Y/N’s detriment or not, we shall see in the future chapters 😊

goodness why is sims coming out with a pool kit now?? summer is almost over wtf. i really expected one in june but *crickets* whatever i bet they'll do halloween in february

there is a cafe i like which is conveniently very close to work, but i just found out they're closing on saturday. so today i went to have a last treat there. but tbh i stopped going in recent years. when covid happened and business were hit so bad, a lot changed their menus. some just upped prices but a lot did that and cut costs by changing the menu to be pricier for less. this cafe was no different. pretty much they just stopped serving anything i wanted at least for what they were charging for it. today was only the second time i've gone in about a year. almost 600 yen for some ice cream and cereal and like four slices of banana. at least give me the whole banana for that price lol. i bought it anyway because i do reeeeally like their ice cream but yeah it's pretty ridiculous. so not much of a loss. especially since there's another of the exact same cafe across the street bahahaha

now ranting about work commence...

covid is back! not that it ever left...

both of my coteachers were out sick mon and tues. one with covid, the other something else. among the other staff, one other teacher is out with covid, two others are out sick, and two others aren't sick but were assigned observations at different schools on certain days this week. this happened last year too and i really don't understand why, if we're so badly understaffed, the observations aren't just rescheduled so those teachers can stay here. it's not like the schools they're going to have to do anything special for them. they're just going to watch the regular classes.

so on monday i had our one sub in my room. the third co-teacher's role was a rotation of random teachers from another close school, who came in and out basically every hour. they are very nice, but they don't know the routine or the kids. that day was mostly okay, exhausting, but i got everything done, mostly because of the sub who is awesome and was a full time teacher before this year so she knows what to do really well. still I had to write most of the kids notebooks by myself, in Japanese, before two p.m. usually we have till 4, and there's nap/prep time between 2-4 so sit down and do them. until 2 we have all the kids and it's teaching time so trying to write notes for all the kids to take home before two by myself was hard. the sub helped with the few that are ok to be written in english though.

tuesday was hellish. didn't have the sub because she was needed in another class. so it was me, that random rotation of other school's teachers, plus my manager and her assistant coming in and out. it wa just a constant ricochet of people it felt like xP manager and assistant were on the phone half the time and talking to each other about admin stuff. not to say they weren't helpful, they definitely were, and it would have been much tougher without them. I didn't have to write notebooks, because one of the other school's teachers did them. (which i'm confused about because i thought someone not from our school wasn't allowed to write notebooks. but tbh policy has become very murky due to the constant understaffing. i shouldn't really have let the sub help with notebooks yesterday either, or with lunch, but i literally didn't have anyone else. what am i supposed to do? technically i can do all the notebooks, although i don't know when, but it isn't possible for me to both hand out lunches and double check myself on the lunch list at the same time. that's the whole point of two people doing it, so a second pair of eyes can catch a mistake before it happens.)

even so, i still ended up writing two of them. the reason is the poor teacher who helped, she was great, but of course she has a lot of her own work to do, so when it was time for her to leave she just had to leave, even though it was the middle of my day. and since she's not used to our routine there were no checks in place except myself. i checked everything and discovered one unwritten notebook and one that was missing completely. i found it and wrote both. i also found a kid's missing smock and dealt with three pee accidents (but my poor coworker in a different class had like a pee apocalypse, like eight or ten kids had accidents in the same day - they just got back from summer break so i think they're just shocked and regressing.) and i took care of my kid's missing futon, and just... the list goes on. also the kids were like, what's going on, how come we've got all these random people, where are the usual teachers? most were pretty fine overall, but it meant the sensitive ones only wanted my attention and i had to do everything regarding them, while also leading the class because the helpers didn't know what to do. also having no coworkers at school meant our cleaning duty was all on me, so i cleaned the entire bathroom both days by myself. (sub was awesome and helped by cleaning my classroom for me on monday.)

but what's difficult to explain is the hard part isn't just what happened, but the randomness of it. when you have a routine, you know whose role is what, and when to check and who to check with. when it's all up in the air like this and i'm the only one who knows how things are supposed to go, then i have to think of everything. there's no one to check me. on the one hand im proud of myself because somehow i did it. but it was really really hard. and it's very physical too. my legs and back are so sore, almost like in my first year before i got more flexible lol. when i walked into the staffroom on tues at 2:30 after finishing the bathroom, my manager and another coworker looked over and were like "otsukareeee are you okaaay what a day!" and seriously yeah it was. like getting hit by a truck. actually not to be dramatic but i kept thinking this is what the start of a mental breakdown feels like... it literally felt like my head was gonna break. i dont know how else to explain it. just stress overload. but i really appreciated the uplifting words my coworkers said to me. everyone was really understanding about how tough the past two days have been. and i kept my temperament even. im especially proud of that. im not super great with stress lol. ive worked hard in my adult life to get better, but i'm a very hard worker and when there are expectations of me that i can't meet for reasons beyond my control (like having to take care of a whole class of two year olds and do the work of three regular teachers almost by myself), i feel like i'm drowning. but although i was tired i didn't ever feel frustrated, because we had a similar incident a few months ago where i was alone in my class as far as regular teachers go, and that day was much, much harder than this week because the kids were brand new to my class and didn't know the routine at all. many weren't verbal at all either. now they know the deal and they're talking so much. they also know me better and i know them, and we love each other. it's so much easier to lead them now, which is always the case this time of the school year.

today at last both my regular coteachers were back. also although we've had a near-full class on mon and tues (just one kid out also with covid), today randomly there were four absences. so we had just fourteen students. it was so nice. busy, but not overwhelmingly so. i could take a break lol. my poor coteachers though, they worked hard although they're still recovering. and the one with covid was supposed to have taken some time off last week, but because she got covid she couldn't enjoy it. and she's the same cowoker who had approved time off in june that was retracted the day of because of terrible understaffing on that day. the fates just don't want to let her have a nice vacation -_- i say fates buuut... taking away someone's approved PTO is pretty shitty. it's the only time it's happened in all the years i've worked here, but tbh if it had been me it would have been a pretty big nail in the coffin. we all love our students and we care about our coworkers too, so that's why we make those sacrifices. but i often wish people would be more selfish and maybe drive the point home to the head office that we're not being treated well at all and we're all just surviving. however i am pretty sure it would just result in us getting yelled at and then quitting of our own volition, like happened to six teachers last year... my school is good, the upper management isn't, go figure :P

you had mentioned several times how you were feeling sick - even after bokuto took you out for a late-night run - but he just told you to take a pain-killer and sleep it off

but now he was kinda regretting not calling someone to help 

like what if the sickness was a symptom to a deadly disease which took you overnight?

plus, he had tried everything he could think of to wake you up: he shook you, he blasted music from his phone, he opened the curtains to allow blinding light to shine on you, he flicked spits of cold water onto your face and he literally wafted cookies around the room in hopes you’d catch the scent 

but it was no use as even after all that, you didn’t move an inch

he tried to check your pulse which he believed to be on the wrist but he couldn’t think it 

so either he was too stupid to find the exact location or......you didn’t have a pulse

he’ll admit, it was an eerie thought that there could be a dead person in his bed rn but even he considered that a rather outlandish idea 

how could a person as healthy as you just die overnight? so he did what any reasonable person would do in that situation-- no, not call a doctor

he held a funeral for his beloved s/o 💀

he gathered all five of the plushies laying around his room (all of which were owls) and lined them up on the foot of the bed 

‘we are all gathered here today to celebrate the epic life of my partner, (y/n) (l/n).’ he sobbed into the sleeve of the black blazer he had pulled out of his closet, ‘gone too soon.’

silence. but in his mind he was met by a chorus of ‘aww’s and whimpers from the crowd

‘i loved them. (y/n) was my rock; they helped me through some of the hardest points in my life--’

his speech was cut off upon hearing one of the audience members pipe up, ‘bo, what are you doing?’

a wave of excitement washed over him as he scurried up to the line of guests, closely examining each one, ‘i didn’t know y’all could talk!’

you rolled your eyes before leaning forward and gently tapping the back of his head, ‘it’s me.’

upon laying his eyes on you, healthy and alive, his lips curled into a foolishly large grin as he immediately pulled you into a tight hug, ‘(Y/N), you’re alive!’ he cried

you gasped at his rather dramatic reaction before slowly melting into his embrace, ‘yes, i am.’

as your lips parted from the skin of his jaw and he slowly let his arms fall from your waist, you finally inquired, ‘did you hold a funeral for me?’

if his elongating of each word wasn’t enough to show that he was lying, the dead giveaway would have to be the sheet of A4 paper with ‘(Y/N)’S FUNERAL 😭’ written on it that was stuck to the door with blu-tac

ignoring his completely false reply, you leaned back on the bed and picked up on the owl plushies, gently stroking it’s soft fur, ‘are these the guests? why are there only five?’

bokuto shrugged, picking up one himself and absentmindedly attempting to balance it on your head, ‘seven; if you count me and you.’

you giggled, about to make a inquire about the names of each guest until bokuto suddenly through his arms around you again 

‘why didn’t you tell me that you are such a deep-sleeper before?! i was so worried - i thought you died! please never die on me again, (y/n)?’

you smiled, pulling back to plant a sweet kiss on his cheek, ‘i promise.’

anyway, at first, he’d probably just freshen up while you sleep: take a shower, wash his face, brush his teeth, floss etc so he’s no longer effected by that ✨morning crust ✨

but when he pokes his head out of the bathroom and noticed that your sleep asleep, he tries to blow-dry his hair bc he knows how much you like it when it’s all fluffy

but his blow-dryer was quite loud so he put it on for a few seconds to see if it’s wake you up and just as he expected, you were still sound asleep

so he blew-dry his hair until it was that soft texture that you liked so much- all while you were still like (∪.∪ )...zzz even though the blow-dryer was making a racket 

you were still sleeping and upon looking at the time, he realised that it was completely fair considering it was currently half past 8 and he had just woken up extremely early for some unknown reason

he didn’t want to wake you so he was just doing to go out for a run or make breakfast until he caught a glimpse of himself in mirror

despite his  puffy hair and pearly-white smile, he still looked sloppy

but it was definitely bc of his stained, torn, washed-out pyjamas tbh

he was just wearing an old T-shirt that he’s had for god-knows how long and a pair of grey sweatpants; it wasn’t a look

he had no idea what possessed him to wear such casual nightwear while you were at his house - especially when you chose to wear something so relaxed yet titillating - but he knew that he needed to change

after a while of rummaging through his nightwear drawer, the best he could find was a pair of white, silk, loose-legged trousers which he had bought for a halloween costume many years ago

it was pretty classy though :)) he was sure that you’d like it 

however, he still couldn’t find anything to wear on his top half but there is no fashion problem oikawa can’t solve 

thus, he went shirtless ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

he also threw on some jewellery too, just for the lols

you weren’t awake yet thought, so after he set up some candles to create a ‘mood’, he just sat next to you on the bed, scrolling on his phone and anticipating your reaction once you woke up

for a moment, he thought that he might’ve went when too far but upon taking a look at himself in his front-facing camera, he realised that there was no harm in spicing things up

once he noticed one of your eyes slowly flutter open, he quickly tossed his phone to the side and turned his body to face you, shooting you a kind smile and he gently ran a hand through his fluffy hair, ‘morning, angel~’ he cooed

you grumbled your greeting in response, then proceeded to rub your eyes to make sure you were seeing him correctly, ‘what are you wearing, tōru?’

‘can a guy not dress up for his special someone anymore?’

you rolled your eyes, playfully slapping his chest and going to hop out of bed until he pulled you back down against the sheets

a faint gasp escaped your lips but you were quickly hushed by oikawa pushing his finger against your lips, ‘you’re not going anywhere, (y/n).’

this was the first time you ever slept over at his house or next to him yet y’all had been dating for year and a half

he was just scared that he might accidently do something crazy in his sleep (bc of his powers ofc) and the last thing he wanted to do was hurt you 🥺

you were patient with him though but bc y’all had never woken up together before, he had no idea how deep of a sleeper you are

he thought it was cute at first bc you were laying there like the beauty you are, lookin’ all serene and calm and stuff

but after a while, he got bored on his own  #•̀ ︿ •́

also, you promised to bake macarons with him for breakfast and he was hungry as hell, still he didn’t want to eat without you but if he didn’t wake you up rn to make macarons, he’d surely starve to death while they were in the fridge

on any other day, he’d just try do it himself but when you helped him make food- it just hit different 😍

‘(y/n), wake up.’  he spoke into your mind using his telepathy, while light nudging your arm, ‘i’m hungry.’

you didn’t reply, seeming completely knocked out

he tried the next best thing, holding his annoying alarm noise near (but not too close) to your ear

still nothing, though

his last human attempt was aggressively pulling your blanket away but even after that you showed no signs of waking up so he realised that he’d have to resort to using his physic abilities

he considered using his astral projection to possess your body but he felt as though taking over your body might cross a few boundaries 

but he did try duplicating himself so he could shake you from many different angles but it was still no use

he continued to use his telepathy to try wake you up but it didn’t seem to work either

after multiple different attempts of using his powers to try wake you up; here he was, standing in the middle of some dystopian, apocalyptic scene - alarms ringing in the distant along with sirens, screaming, honking and wails. everything around him seemed to be engulfed by flames which created thick, smoky air 

he wasn’t really sure how he got here but he was pretty sure it started around the time he tried to form an energy ball 

whatever 🤷‍♂️ it’s no biggie

he jumped back in time so he was standing next to your bed once again, exactly where he left off before he created the energy ball

he stared down at your sleeping figure and let out an exasperated sigh as he realised that he’d have to employ one of his most dangerous tactics

he really hoped it didn’t have to come to this

‘(y/n), if you get up right now.’ his voice rung through your head, ‘i speak with my voice.’

just like that, both of your eyes shot open as you hastily sat up on the bed

World: Alternia! Same AU as Renuti. 

!! Hihi! Oh man I remember Renuti so well; I think you last updated your fan adventure at the end of 2020 and I saw that you used his updated appearance for it! I know it’s been a while since you’ve gone back to the well but I do hope you pick it back up some time; I love seeing people creating their own fan adventures and I like the themes you were exploring in yours.

Name: Prodit Narcor. Prodit is probably from the Latin root for loyalty, and Narcor is. Well. Narc. Narc core. 

Lol got it ACAB.

Age: 7.62 sweeps/16.5 years. (same as Renuti)

Theme/Story: She’s the person who eventually calls the drones on Renuti’s radio station, and is then of course forced to “cooperate” with them when SGRUB rolls around. Also, I came up with her while listening to National Anthem, so there’s that. 

Review Goals: General! Also, people frequently mistake her for a Blood player, so advice on how to push the Doom angle harder would be nice. 

Strife Specibus: Fireworkkind? Because patriotism and also explosions. 

Also quite Doomy. I approve.

Fetch Modus: No idea. I kind of think it would be funny if it was something very practical that she picked as a little kid and now regrets. 

Oh that’s easy it’s a Hangman Modus which shreds the captcha card if you fail to guess in time. It’s Doom-themed, and is super easy when you’re a kid but becomes increasingly more difficult as you grow older because 1) you store more items, so you’re less likely to narrow the pool of the card up for grabs all that quickly, 2) stuff just gets more complicated, yknow? You may not be able to get “immersion blender” just from looking at the spaced and guess the most common letters, and 3) time-consuming, so you can’t just grab an item on demand. Also a nod to how much work it ostensibly takes to get the necessarily equipment when one is working for a public office.

Blood Color: Near-perfect cerulean (#005780). It’s a bragging point for her. 

Lunar Sway: Prospit!

Title: Witch of Dooooom! She manipulates the rules of society to suit her own needs, causes explosions and death and forces the rules on others, and like most Witches, takes a maybe too practical and hands on approach without really listening to others. Also, I like the contrast of this very fancy, charismatic, preppy kid getting the most Halloween Spooky Goth classpect (in name at least). 

I also like this, especially because she’s theoretically a very successful Witch of Doom right now! She’s doing a good job of narrowing everybody’s options to an increased number of failure states.

Symbol and Meaning: Scormini, the Fatalistic.

Special Abilities: Mild mind influence–basically weak charmspeak, if you’ve read Percy Jackson. She swears up and down she’s just a nice person and that’s why people do things for her. 

Ehhh T B H idk that she need a power. we can tell an interesting enough story about a cerulean exploiting their position on the hemospectrum to take structural power without adding the psychic abilities, especially since mutations like Vriska’s appear to be somewhat rare.

Lusus/Guardian: A Monarch Butterfly, because it’s pretty, poisonous, and, well, monarch. Prodit loved her as a kid, but now that she’s older she doesn’t spend much time with her anymore. Call your damn mom, Prodit. 

YEAH LOVE IT.

Interests: Listening to music and dancing (badly) in her room, messing with other people’s code, trying and failing to care for her pet cactus (the fifth one this sweep), playing Troll Ace Attorney. 

Appearance: Just fyi, the sprite used is a slightly recolored FarragoFiction sprite. Didn’t want to take credit where it wasn’t due. 

Yeah absolutely, thanks for letting me know! Always appreciate people giving other spriters credit where credit is due.

Personality: Prodit is genuinely a very friendly person. Yes, she’s also kind of a manipulative asshole, but she does have some actual friends who she actually likes as well, and is easy to get along with. She’s practical and perceptive, but tries to ignore any twinges of moral dissonance by going along with the flow and not causing a stir unless she wants to.  She’s also great at talking her way out of bad situations, and will get you out of a jam as well if necessary. She’s very self-confident because of the aforementioned traits, and thus far her confidence hasn’t exactly been proven wrong. However, she tries to stick to her own caste–she has some sense of what life outside her bubble is like, and she doesn’t want her perfect view of the Empire disrupted. 

Hmmm I can see why people think she’s a Blood character; this bio leans heavily on relationships and charisma as her backbone. It might make a little more sense for it to go like this: she has plenty of Cerulean friends because she has to; she’s seen what life is like outside her caste and sees the spectres death and destruction. Her friendships with them are borne out of genuine care but also out of obligation; if she doesn’t have them, who can she even count on? She can still affect self-confidence, but it rests on an empty shell and she knows it.

Land: I kind of want to use Land of Truth and Consequences, because it’s a fun name and I think it makes sense for her. Learn to face the hard Truths of Doom or face the Consequences, Witch. 

That would imply that the Feel of her land is one of Truth and the Quest is one of Consequences, which is a little difficult to visualize. How about instead it’s land of Tabloids and Yarns? It’s all about the tales being told about her and her fellow questees, putting the onus on her to right the story and unite the planet in truth? I’m picturing a planet plastered with print with big colorful string connecting everything a la a conspiracy theory board.

As for the appearance...I’m gonna be real, I have no notes! I know it was sprited by another person, but I believe that you had-draw your adventure, correct? The vibe is right, the horns are good, and the outfit recognizably conveys what it needs to. It’s good to go!

ok honestly i have no idea if any of this makes sense lol but i hope it’s comprehendible. also i have not had the time or resources to watch any of the new mcu era, which is why i didn’t include any of it. and if you have any other ideas of which characters and movies the poets would like comment them bc i want to see what you guys think hehe !! <3 sending love and hugs to anyone who needs it (and anyone who doesn’t, too)

neil: neil adores comic books. he used to sneak them when he was younger, taking breaks from his summer school homework to read them (he has a stash in his room that his father still hasn’t found). there is no doubt in my mind that neil wouldn’t be head over heels for spiderman, are you kidding ?? most definitely tried to climb walls or hang upside down when he was little. desperately wishes he could come up with his own chemical equation for web fluid. he’d completely immerse himself in the fact that there are three different eras to depict and analyze, too, having a very heated debate with charlie and meeks about who the best spiderman is. also really wants to reenact the upside down kiss with todd

neil’s fav movies (he can’t pick a fav) would be: the og spiderman, the amazing spiderman, and spiderman: homecoming (likes spiderman: 3 purely for shits and gigs)

todd: i feel like todd really likes comics (would spend his summers collecting them and reading in his room while his parents took jeff to sports camps/summer camps). he’d love scarlet witch because todd really loves to see her character growth through the films (coming to understand her powers and utilizing them accordingly), and also just admires how badass she is (”she’s so powerful and she doesn’t even know it until she faces hardship. oh, i love her so much”). upon hearing this explanation, neil couldn’t contain a smile because todd doesn’t even realize that he’s the exact same way (’: todd also likes bucky because he’s “so cool” and his metal arm is “sick” hehe (and he really loves the bond that bucky and steve have)

todd’s fav movie would probably be captain america: tfa because he likes seeing young steve rogers of course, but also because todd admires his strength (sees himself in pre-serum steve and hopes that one day he will become his own version of post-serum steve (: ). also like avengers: aou bc that’s when he’s really first introduced to scarlet witch (watches the post-credit scene from captain america: tws just to see wanda and pietro)

charlie: charlie never really read comic books, but he loves the mcu !! first of all, charlie can’t decide anything ever, so why would picking his fav superhero be any different; peter quill, iron man, or black widow. he’d like peter quill because “he’s unapologetically himself and completely hilarious,” and would absolutely dress as starlord for halloween at least once (probably more than once). as for iron man, charlie just likes how cool tony stark is and how he invented a suit that could fly (”there are so many likable qualities about him !!” he’d say, to which cameron would reply, “like what, the fact that he’s a womanizer, a pompous ass, or that he’s seemingly too smart for his own good ?” and charlie would just smirk, “all of the above”). for black widow, it’d be pretty simple (“she’s so badass. i can’t tell if i want to do her or be her”). claims his honorary mentions would be korg, rocket, and groot

charlie’s fav movies are guardians of the galaxy vol. 1 and vol. 2 because they’re “fun.” likes thor: ragnarok because it also has fun vibes.

meeks: meeks LOVES comic books to begin with, and collects them avidly, but dr. strange and the entire idea surrounding his powers/strengths ?? the ability to bend time ?? if that doesn't sound right up meeks’ alley, idk what does. there are clearly a lot of things that meeks will geek out over unapologetically, but dr. strange is one of those things that he just will not shut up about, ever (”it’s just so AWESOME”). desperately wishes that sling rings were real. also gushes with todd about bucky’s metal arm, going off on a tangent about the science behind the “rigidity flexibility ratio.” can also go on for hours about the quantum realm (:

therefore, meeks’ favorite mcu film is dr. strange and he would be completely eager and buzzing for dr. strange in the multiverse of madness. also likes antman (:

pitts: also a comic book geek hehe. and i'm sensing that pitts really likes thor. thor is pretty much just a dorky, goofy tall dude (like pitts, just with... a lot bigger biceps LOL). finds a lot of the same things funny in the movies that thor laughs at. getting into thor gets him into norse mythology, where he’d spend hours searching for/reading books on it at the welton library (meeks would have to come find him because he’d been gone for that long). wishes he could grow facial hair that nicely, and even attempted to once, but charlie shut that down real quick HAHA (”i'm not going to stop making fun of how ridiculous you look until you shave”). becomes a huge einstein rosen bridge geek, learning all there is to learn about that (and norse everything).

pitts’ favorite movie is thor: ragnarok (”it’s the best out of the three”), and he really doesn’t enjoy thor: the dark world (almost has a vendetta against it, “why did they feel the need to dye his beard and his eyebrows ??”)

cameron: surprisingly knows a lot about comics and the mcu ? his fav character is captain america due to steve rogers’ unflinching morals and standards (cameron began to to veer a teeny tiny bit away from cap, though, when he began to rebel in captain america: civil war, but he still loves him). really likes the historical aspect behind captain america (wwii and the 1940s). he and pitts absolutely had a meltdown when steve lifted mjolnir and almost got kicked out of the movie theater for their reaction (”NO FUCKING WAY, NO FUCKING WAY !! I KNEW IT. PITTSIE, I KNEW IT !!” which is super uncharacteristic for cameron, but he doesn’t fuck around when it comes to cap). got in an actual argument with charlie after captain america: civil war arguing that tony was in the wrong (”steve was doing the right thing because he was following his moral code !! even if he was breaking rules, it still made sense,” and charlie would just laugh, “you say that, but i was just following my moral code when i made the phone call to god and you didn’t find that funny,” “you’re an idiot, charlie”). also really likes nebula bc he relates to her in the fact that she never felt like she belonged/fit in.

his father served in wwii, so captain america: tfa has a really special place in his heart (he’s seen it so many times he can cite the movie as it goes along)

knox: knox knows the least about superheroes/comics, but still likes to tag along to the movies when the poets go to a premiere. he really likes black widow (”she’s just really pretty, okay?”) and hulk (”he just smashes stuff, HAHA ! how awesome is that ??”). even though he’s not very knowledgable about the mcu or marvel itself, he loves to listen to meeks about everything. almost always asks questions throughout the entirety of the movie (”knox, shut up, we’ll explain after it’s over !!”). thanos really freaked him out tbh; the idea of something like the snap happening dialed his whole “carpe diem” thing to eleven lol. 

knox’s fav movie is the first avengers because the amount of conflict isn’t as bad as the other avengers movies (”i like seeing them work together, it makes me sad when they argue and disagree).

Human Target #1: All about it! I think Smallwood was being rightfully groomed as a big name in the making only to be working on Moon Knight when everything came out about Brian Wood, glad to see him making a comeback. Not that familiar with the characters' comics adventures, but it's a good concept that's a great fit for King and that's before Lex gets involved. The only problem is that my love for the franchise doesn't come from the comics - which means I'll inevitably be disappointed by this being something very different - it comes from the TV show, specifically the best opening credits of all time:

Aquaman/Green Arrow - Deep Target #1: Bonkers pairing but really looking forward to what Thomas will do with it.

Batman: The Audio Adventures Special: Did this podcast start and I heard nothing about it?

Wonder Woman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular: Very solid lineup of talent, looking forward to this.

Wonder Woman: Historia #1: At last! I'm not the biggest DeConnick fan but I'm very interested in this, even if it's a shame they finally bit the bullet and brought in other artists for the other issues even if the alternative would be waiting another 5 years or thereabouts for Jimenez.

Nubia & The Amazons #1: Was initially very uninterested but realized I was mixing up Stephanie Williams with Stephanie Phillips, I'll definitely check this out.

Wonder Woman: The Adventures of Young Diana Special #1: If you haven't been getting the regular Wonder Woman definitely grab this collection of the backup feature, it's a lot of fun.

Action Comics #1036: THE CREW IS HERE. Clark wearing his regular clothes and not graying seems to confirm Morrison's guy in Superman and The Authority won't be the 'regular' Clark, however that plays out, which is alright with me given it'll likely help that stand alone as a perennial more strongly. Wonder if Janin comes on partway through here.

1. How long ago did you start reading fanfiction? Writing fanfiction?

It looks like I started writing in 2017. I've been reflecting recently on how there are so many regularly active writers now compared to in 2017-2018. It was the tail-end of some of my fave writer's activity within fandom. Utsus was posting less and less. The Tumblr NaruHina fandom seemed to disappear, a whole community of writers left for other things (matchaball, nekomamoru, magmawrites, cherryjutsu, spyder-m, tenney-shoes, eliphya, among others). 2018 was a very quiet year, but! I avidly read katarinahime and bunnyhoodlum's works! In 2019, quirrrky restarted things with NaruHina Week!

2. How do you spend your time when it comes to fanfiction? Are you primarily a fic reader, writer, or a perfect 50/50 split of both?

Recently I’m primarily a reader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because there's so many writers now!!!!!!!!

3. Are there any fics that inspired you to write what you do?

“Operation: Bring Home Naruto” by Dragonwannabe - Rated T, Canon-Divergent, Multi-chapter, Complete. Hinata's been assigned the mission of getting Naruto back home safely after his last dangerous assignment. But can she handle the undercover identity as his girlfriend that she’d been given without revealing her true feelings for him?

“The Mission” by Lunawraythe - Rated M, Canon-Divergent, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. It wasn't that Hinata never expected to work with Naruto, just never on a mission quite like this.

“The Loving Type” by @peppercornpresses - Rated M, Canon-Divergent, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. A few years have passed since the Fourth Shinobi War, in which...Rookie Nine steadily advances in rank. Naruto gets engaged. Hinata leaves Konoha. And Kakashi schemes for days.

5. What are your fanfic pet peeves? Do they have a huge effect on whether or not you decide to read something?

ahhh.  I do have quite a few pet peeves.  If the fic is Canon-Compliant or Canon-Divergent, I expect Naruto and Hinata to behave like Japanese people.  Say what you want, but the Naruto Universe is definitely Japanese in my book.  So that means no shoes in the house.  Nothing rattles me more than reading Hinata taking her sandals off before climbing into bed.  Like, what?  she was wearing her outdoor shoes indoors this whole time??

mmm... another pet peeve is when the writer describes Hinata in a kimono, but it sounds like an American Halloween costume, like the slutty version, instead of an actual kimono.

mmm... and the other big pet peeve I have is when it’s Hinata’s first time eating ramen because Naruto is showing her the wonders of ramen.  lol.  why.  how.  in what world would a Japanese person make it to their teenage years without ever eating ramen.

I have a bunch of other little pet peeves regarding Japanese culture in fanfics.  But in general, it doesn’t stop me from reading the fic if I'm already in the middle of it.  I’ll continue reading it and will probably recommend it to other people anyway. If I can tell based on the summary, then it's not for me, and I don't read it. If this makes anyone feel nervous about writing fanfiction, that's not my intention! I would also be happy to be a sensitivity reader if necessary.

6. How do you find new fic to read? Where do you primarily read fanfiction?

I primarily read fanfics on AO3 and ffnet.  I find new ones by constantly checking the Hyuuga Hinata/Uzumaki Naruto tag on AO3 or looking into a writer’s favorites list on ffnet.

7. Do you prefer to read short fics or long fics?

Short fics.

8. How often do you reblog/comment on fics that you like?

I reblog pretty often. I don't comment as often as I used to😕 I used to comment on every fic I liked.

9. Tag 3 fic writers you think are underrated/unknown in the fandom/fanfiction community.

Uhh?? Idk. I think recently the writing group here is pretty tight, everyone seems to know everyone.

10. What’s your favorite fandom, pairing, or character to read fic for?

Naruto fandom and NaruHina.

11. How do you come up with your fic titles?

I usually take it from words used in the story or from the prompt.

12. Tell the author your favorite fic title of theirs (not the fic, strictly title). Author: what’s your favorite title you’ve come up with and why?

I think...maybe "Tell Me of Forevers" or "Nightdreams." I like those because they aren't taken word-for-word directly from the story, but touch on a theme in the story.

13. Do you outline your fics? How much of a headache would someone get if they just looked at an outline of yours without reading the fic?

Yes, I outline. They wouldn't get a headache, I think. It's usually just a summary.

My favorite fic continues to be "It's No Secret."

Yes, I do. I've done historical and folktale research for "Little Samurai." I did area/location research for "Last Chance." I did historical research for "About You." I did fairy tale research for "Catskin." I did a ton of astronomy research for "The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl." And I did lighting research for "Inspo." I go pretty deep.

17. How obsessively do you sit and stare at your fic after you’ve just posted and wait for feedback?

I don't. I usually have something else I need to do or I go to bed.

18. Do you have a WIP that you keep telling yourself you’ll eventually get back to, but deep down you know that’s probably a lie?

I actually think I can finish all of mine if I just try.

19. Do you edit your fics after you write them, or do you prefer to just hit post and run (because it’s someone else’s problem now)?

I always edit before posting to AO3. Anything I post directly on Tumblr might not be edited.

Starting a new chapter.

On occasion. If someone sends me a request, I'll think about writing it. Sometimes I do write and post it, sometimes I leave them in my drafts for a better day.

From what I already have posted, probably friends-to-lovers, secret relationship/forbidden love, or high school au. I don't think I have an intentional favorite.

24. What’s a trope that you’d like to never hear about as long as you live, let alone write?

Public humiliation / public degradation.

25. Do you listen to music as you write? If possible, link your writing playlist.

No, not usually.

26. What’s your biggest distraction when writing?

Tumblr feed, all the pictures to scroll through mindlessly.

lol, whatever is fine.

28. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie: pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc)?

Well, pressure to update is not a big deal to me. I do this for fun, so I don't think I unnecessarily pressure myself too much. With negative comments, I don't get too many of those, and I think I do my best to avoid situations where I might get negative feedback.

29. Have you ever written for an exchange or event of some kind? Which one(s)? Did you enjoy it?

Yeah, I like the events. My favorite was NH2020, the year-long one last year. I also enjoyed the Secret Santa last year since @badluckbrebis was my giftee.

Naruto Uzumaki, always.

Top 3 faves in order:

That was the plan: "She shifts in his arms, and cloth and cleavage come pillowing up to his face, and he’s certain that she’s scooped from the same puffy stuff his adolescent daydreams were made of."

Tell Me of Forevers: "What he wouldn’t do to inspire every blush, every smile of hers for an eternity when such moments already only speak “forever” to him."

White Lilies: "Whether at his feet, in his eyes, ears, mind, if not reaching his heart, she never landed anywhere. (It’s okay.)"

I consider "White Lilies" to have my technically best writing, so it was kind of hard to choose just one line from that fic! But I decided that one's my favorite line from the whole story.

33. What do you like writing better: one shots or multi-chapter stuff?

One-shots.

34. How much of yourself and your life experiences do you put into your writing? What do you think your readers’ image of you is?

A lot of my life experiences are in my writing. Hmm, I think readers probably think I'm...hmm...either empathetic or really perverted?

35. How much has writing fic changed your life?

I spend a lot less time on real-life social media than before.

I'm kind of embarrassed of "Honeymoon at the Hot Springs" lol. It's fine.

My current WIP is that A/B/O fic I started for February Smut Month Prompts: Sweet as Candy or Love Bites. I'm going to title it "Sweet As," and it'll be about how Naruto and Hinata become Alpha/Omega mates. It's really kinky, really smutty, and totally what I would want to read.

38. What does your writing process look like? How chaotic is it on a scale of 1 (very tame) to 10 (you can’t handle this kind of chaos)?

uhh???? a 1?? I've never once thought of my writing process as chaotic. Ahh, then I think of bunnyhoodlum's multiple drafts for the same chapter, and I realize that there exist types of writing processes that I would not be able to handle...

39. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?

My smut.

Idk about Tumblr,,, maybe White Lilies got the most attention here. My most popular fic is Nightdreams on AO3.

I will always remember how people congratulated me for finishing White Lilies😭 Also, when peppercornpresses made that FIRST art of my story, I just, I just stared at it all day.

19 ~ what’s your f/o’s favourite form of intimacy? 

Cuddles and/or kisses of any kind. He loves to be physically close, but understands I sometimes feel trapped if it’s gone too long and doesn’t get upset when I ask for space.

9 ~ what’s your f/o’s favourite snack or meal? 

He loves anything with chocolate in it, but that isn’t all he eats for a snack. He also liked apples~ lol

Kidding. He does like those, but after introducing him to some of the cheesy/salty cracker snacks I have, he tends to snack on those when we’re watching something together.

Favorite meal…he likes cooking and he tends to enjoy most of what he cooks, but he’s voiced really liking fish tacos. So that.

3 ~ are there any special holidays or anniversaries you and your f/o celebrate together?

Halloween and Christmas, for sure. We do Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family, but Halloween is an “us” thing. As in we don’t get them to participate in any of the stuff we do.

And we do birthdays, even though before me he never cared much about his own since in his time it was to celebrate another year of staying alive…and Startouch elves don’t worry about death that much.

Other than that, and I guess New Year’s celebration…not a lot of holidays here. He’s told me about some “holidays” and celebrations from Xadia, though. Like the long-dead practice of Moonshadow elf mages opening the doorway between life and death on the full moon at a specific spot so people there can see their dead loved ones again for at least that night.

It’s kind of like the Hispanic holiday, Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) but living people can actually see the departed as well.
