I want to get to the good part of this blastvoid thing I'm writing but i do NOT want to write the part before it and I'm procrastinating so fucking hard
Like i know what i want and it'll be satisfying but it's like the reverse of eating beef jerky, where this is the tough gross part you just need to swallow before getting to the fucking SPPIUCCE
#I'm writing their early days when blast first realizes a) fucking void is an option and b) he REALLY wants to#but it's in the middle of a one night stand with a woman#and I'm just......so uninterested in most straight stuff......like unless its genderfuckery with the characters cause that's cool#also hard because i really believe background characters should have their own lives so trying to write these OCs as likable and believable#without them taking to too much time#or at least if they do have them be fun enough that it's fine#and also having it be believable that they'll go about their business even after the story moves on from them#hard too to get into the head of a frat bro/fuckboy which is kinda how i see Blast#or rather it's hard to write him without making him either too soft or too gross#like the way i like and see women isn't necessarily the way a guy like that would and it's tough to figure out where the crossover is#so i can use it to make this whole thing more believable#i REALLY want it to be clear that blast and void do not have the kind of relationship that would be good for anyone else#and probably really isn't even good for them#but that requires a fair amount of build up to get it across the way I'd like#like blast is fixated on void and so hyper aware of everything he does that he's almost#but not quite#scared of him#and void knows what he's doing because blast is the Goldie Locks of candidates for someone to help him with the GOD stuff#and he D O E S N O T want him going anywhere so he's gonna keep him close using every trick in the book#but blast IS charismatic and he IS fun and he DOES make daily life a lot more pleasant#so he's uncomfortably attached too#but blast has zero fucking for clue about any of that other than he's aware of just **how little** he knows about void#IT'S A FUCKING LOT OF SUBTEXT TO GET ACROSS WITH A CHARACTER I'M STRUGGLING WITH#I'm going to do it but MAN#blastvoid

Could you please do who falls first and who falls harder with jjk men - and how they would deal with falling in love? Like what would they be like. Sorry if that's too specific
Tumblr media
JJK men, who falls first and who falls harder.
A/n: Thank you sweetheart for this cute reaction, I hope you enjoy it 💙
Characters: Gojo Satoru - Toji Fushiguro - Ryomen Sukuna - Nanami Kento - Itadori Yuji
Gojo Satoru : Falls harder.
You'd be the first to fall in love with him, considering how gorgeous he is anyone would definitely develop a crush on him, including you. But you fell not only for his looks but also his teasing and goofy personality. But man would fall harder for you, the thing is he doesn't realize it..yet. I think Satoru would be confused and lost as hell.
He's not used to falling in love with someone, he's only used to people/ women going crazy over him. So him experiencing love and strong feelings for someone would throw him off shore, and the thought of you would consumer his mind. He'd try had to avoid the thought of you, to get you off his mind. Tries to convince himself that love isn't for him, and that those feelings are just shallow and would fade away. He'd think that he wouldn't be a good partner and that he's got more important things to deal with , like his job since he's the strongest. But the more he fights his feelings back, the more they grow stronger. He'd uncontrollably get jealous when another guy gets near you. He'll catch himself getting really angry if a man makes you laugh. Sometimes, he'll catch himself smiling like a dork over your messages, pictures or simply when he sees you doing the smallest daily things, like breathing. He'd get a very strong urge to protect you and keep you safe. He's good at hiding his feelings though, you wouldn't guess that he loves you back.
Even though he's an overly confident guy, he'd be like a lost puppy and seeks help from no other than Geto. He truly suck at facing his feelings, so Suguru will help him realize and accept them, he will also hel him through the whole thing like how to properly confess without making it awkward or messing it up.
Toji Fushiguro: Falls harder.
He wouldn't notice you at first, but once you started proving yourself and flirting with him since you have the fattest crush on him, man would become obsessed with you. He's into strong and confident women, so the fact that you took the initiative and shown you're into him, he'd fall hard for you too.
Even though both of you didn't fully and officially confess yet, he'd act as if you're dating. He'd become overprotective, very possessive of you and gets jealous easily. He'd start physical fights with guys who get near you. Toji would be very touchy with you, gives you your daily dose of pick up lines, compliments, random winks and delicate touches. He has no problem accepting his feelings for you, and he's always ready to get into a relationship as long as you're a real and the right one. I feel like despite his flirty nature, he's take his time and tries to get to know you better, on a deep level. He believes that the spark and sexual tension that comes from flirting is 100% necessary to keep both of you interested and to make things entertaining and spicy.
When he's 100% sure you're the right one, he'd casually ask you out , he's very confident at it, especially that he knows you're the one who started it at first.
Ryomen Sukuna: Falls first.
If Sukuna wants something, he'll get it no matter what. One look is enough for him to claim you. It's love at first sight, well more like obsession at first sight. If you smile at him or show him the slightest and smallest interest ( not necessarily ), he'll consider it as a green light to own you. You basically belong to him but you don't know yet. He'd kill anyone who dares to touch you in a way he doesn't approve of. He doesn't really think that he might scare you away, because he believes you have nowhere to hide or run away from him. He's a yandere when he's in love, a toxic one to be specific. He wouldn't hurt you physically but man would hurt those who are close to you. He wouldn't beg for your love but he aspires to make you beg for him. He wants you, he wants to have you and make you need him, as if your whole existence depends on him.
Sukuna knows how to play, he's got them plans. He knows how to drive you willingly to his web, to make you crawl to him as if he casted a love spell on you. He surely falls first but makes you fall x10 for him.
Nanami Kento: Falls first.
100% knows how to handle falling in love with someone. His heart would start beating fast yes but he wouldn't get nervous or panic around you. He wouldn't scare you away. He'd know how to treat you. Nanami doesn't have any intentions to make you fall for him, he believes that love shouldn't be forced so he'd admire you and love you respectfully and gently, but you'd end up falling in love with him any way, I mean who wouldn't?.
He's got natural, inviting charms, that make anyone crave to be with him. He's so calm around you, treats you with extra care and softness. He'd offer to help you even with the smallest and easiest tasks, he'd protect you, offers his jacket when the weather gets cold, walks you home late at night, and respects your boundaries. You wouldn't notice he's in love with you because he's a natural gentleman.
He'd shoot his shot though, patiently waits for the perfect moment to confess his emotions towards you, without pressuring you. He would make the whole environment, place, time, and the way he talks, comfortable as much as possible. Nanami would be surprised when you don't reject his feelings and tell him that feeling is mutual, he's a humble man. When you start dating, nothing would change, he's so mature and knows well how to treat you, and asks for consent first before doing anything.
Itadori Yuji: Falls first + falls harder.
No matter how much you love Yuji, he'll always love you more. He's a ball of joy, his feelings would start with a small crush, but he lets it grow into stronger feelings without realizing it untill he's drowning in your love. He'd be nervous at first, then starts getting really excited when he embraced the fact that he's a lover boy. He got more comfortable, acts extra friendly to you, makes sure to take a really good care of you, brings you your favorite snacks.
His cute actions, stimulated something in you, and made you fall in love with him. Yuji doubles and triples texts, call you randomly just to hear your voice and make sure you're fine. He cares too much, and isn't afraid to show his feelings even in front of others. He gets super energetic around you, makes you laugh all the time, and he ia there for you whenever you need him. You would be the one to ask him out first, cutie baby would be over the moon, the happiest man alive. He couldn't believe it at first, he'll look at you in confusion, literally stunned. Yuji Got no filter, he isn't shy or ashamed to let his feelings control his actions, if he feels a certain way, then he'll let it show. Yuji is definitely boyfriend material, he'll make you really happy and his love for you would grow more powerful day by day.

Missing the Mike Faist priest kink era 😭 still wait for the«  see you in the next Wednesday service » ahaha I’m wondering if the locals suspects their relation or not( do they see each other outside his service ?)( Is he jealous when he sees other guys flirting with her before his church service starts ? ) 👀
OH MY GOD
an ask about "kneel" ???? im gonna cry
no let's talk about it because i never did a pt. 2 or anything
i think that a majority of the locals don't really suspect that the reader is messing around with the priest (they idolize him + see him as a nonsexual figure), but they do look down on her b/c of her visible promiscuity (i.e. the hickies and etc.)
they might notice her wearing shorter skirts to services, and crossing her legs/squeezing her thighs together incessantly throughout his sermons. someone might even catch a glimpse of soft bruises and red handprints on her ass after she bends over to pick something up in front of them the day after mass. and they're like omg? what is this young lady getting herself into? and who in this town could stand to do such vile, obscene things to her body? (as if it's not their precious priest)
i dont think they see each other outside of services/the church b/c they dont want to risk drawing attention to their "special, secret relationship". but! he does give her his phone number and she calls him sometimes when she thinks too much about him and gets wet :( he has talked the reader through touching herself on multiple occasions. tons of verbally guided masturbation over the phone as she lays on her bed, her hand between her legs, with an opened bible next to her. yeah.
he had gifted her that bible after the second time they had sex. not necessarily to indoctrinate her into the religion, but to give her a representation of something that was important to him. it was his subtle way of trying to connect with her. but it kinda backfired b/c now she gets hot and flushed when she reads the words "God" and "peace" and "faith". he basically pavlov's dog'd her. classically conditioned.
because she lost her virginity to him, she's definitely very attached. she tells him that she isn't, but its a total lie and he knows it too. she gets jealous when women, young or old (doesn't matter), come up to him after services all smiley and ready to talk to him about their problems. reader usually gets red in the face and pouts in the back pew as she watches their interactions closely. she worries a lot that she isn't the only person in the town that the priest is intimate with, but she is. he's fairly attached to her too. and because she's a pretty young woman, divorced dads and older teen boys will often try to flirt with her before the priest's regularly scheduled homily, and he has to gather all the restraint in his body not to insert himself between you and them.
they are very cute + sacrilegious. ugh.

hey about that ask and post about how trans lesbians dont have any real in to the community to start figuring out their identies i think your missing a bit of the point because yes trans gay men dont have an automatic connection either and mlm and fandom spaces are pretty bad about 'cishet women' consuming alot of mlm content or relating to mlm ships and characters but while theyre there they are kinda (probably in a harmful way) learning about queer identites at least hearing the words to look up and research on their own but thats a different thing to trans lesbians not even having a space to get that close to queer people if at all without being kept out of conversation about queer identies and so never or much more rarely having space to find out about trans lesbians or given space to relate to wlw or queerness
of course most trans men in either of these spaces are celebrated for coming out unless they find groups of transmen in fandom even but i dont think that makes these experiences all that similar i think we should appreciate these as diffrent experiences without lessing eithers impact
I mean. there are closeted trans lesbians who have an awareness of queer identities through their friends or through online communities from the perspective of an ally. This is not the same as being able to identify oneself with queerness and feeling that you are accepted as an insider in those spaces, but that feeling isn't necessarily handed to closeted gay trans guys being read as heterosexual cis women either. And still, it's not as if there aren't any "straight" "cis" "men" who have queer friends or engage in communities frequently by queer people.
And I feel that having this conversation on Tumblr biases us, seeing as this is The Website for "straight" "cis" "women" who get really into MLM shipping. What about gay trans men who aren't chronically online in that way? Who live their lives as "normal" straight cis women, and whose only exposure to transmasculinity is the vague concept of "butch lesbian becomes masculine straight man"? Outside of Tumblr culture, I do not see gay trans men being given much visibility, with the "ex-lesbian" narrative still having a strong grasp over how most trans men are perceived.
I just feel like this argument is working off a very specific and local-to-Tumblr idea of the experiences of a gay trans man. Like, there are (in my experience), more gay trans men active in Queer Tumblr than gay cis men, and the same is not true for cis lesbians vs trans(fem) lesbians. But if you go to the vast majority of areas, where gay cis men dominate, gay trans men are not always being given space or visibility.

Why I think these two are related
Tumblr media
(Click read more to see the theory because this is long)
One way I think they could be related is their similarities both physically and in how they behave
IE: very similar hair and skin color(and possibly eye color), both appearing rather skinny, similar fashion tastes, obsessing over one thing, manipulating people, acting in violence, and possibly anger issues
They also both are quiet and have trouble connecting with people and making friends, and though that doesn't necessarily mean two people are related, I just thought it was worth pointing out
I think they could either be cousins or siblings, long lost or otherwise. Cousins would be an easy answer, but they could very well be siblings!
Hypothetically, their parents could've gotten divorced shortly before or after whichever one is younger - which I'm gonna say is Vincent - was born and each took a kid with them, Bok-su ending up in Korea and Vincent in France
Perhaps their mother stayed in France while pregnant with Vince and their father left for Korea(possibly his home country) with Bok-su
As for them being cousins, it's very simple, their families just lived in different countries! Either way this means that Vincent possibly has some Korean decent and Bok-su has some French, which is kinda cool!
we can also see here that Vincent (possibly) was at the wedding, alongside (possibly) Rody!
Tumblr media
This could mean Vincent knew Da-jeong, most likely from Bok-su, and knew her well enough to be invited! Rody could've possibly been a friend of the groom or some other relative
While Rody isn't at all involved in this theory as a whole, I just thought I'd point this out because this could mean Vincent and Rody had met before the events of dead plate and just didn't remember each other :3
Vincent also could be younger in the photo, so I wanna say this was before he got famous or at least a decent amount of years before dead plate/the bistro
This could possibly be while he was a teenager given how he looks in the photos, and given how Bok-su looks to be about her mid or late twenties, that could easily check out
Before anyone mentions the timeline, I did some research and women were aloud to start going to collage in Korea around 1948!
so with Dead Plate taking place in the 1960s and us having little idea when Married in Red takes place, this could easily mean that the game takes place sometime in the 50s when Vincent was a teenager or young adult as I believe he's in his mid or late twenties by the events of Dead Plate
That's basically the whole theory, let me know what you guys think! :3

The fire nation is actually the least likely nation to be homophobic and the fact that it is canonically the only homophobic nation is a bunch of bull, driven by the idea that bad is bad is bad and we must have only negative things in the fire nation and the other nations are hapless uwu victims. God forbid we have some awareness that cultures can be problematic in different ways.
Also easily none of the nations could be homophobic, or all of them are to varying degrees, but if only ONE nation is homophobic it is NOT going to be the fire nation and here's why.
Air Nomads
Look these guys are just as likely to be homophobic as not actually. Like clearly they're all monks, but that could go one of two ways. You're either a love is love monk, or a sex is sinful monk, and the fact that the monks were separated by gender into different temples and they presumably only had sex to have children so they wouldn't die out, I'm leaning towards the "sex is a tool to create children, to do it for other reasons is to indulge your carnal urges" type monks.
And when two men or two women have sex, it's not to create children.
Therefore, pretty solid that while the air nomads probably don't hate gay people, I don't think it was really an accepted thing in their society just because no romantic/sexual relationship was really accepted within the monk lifestyle. So not homophobic, but not really a thing.
2. Southern Water Tribe
You're gonna look me in the eyes and tell me that a nation with such emphasis on gender roles isn't gonna be hella weird about gay people? The men go off to war, the women stay and mend. Sokka's sexism, although I do think there's an argument that he took it further than his society taught him (because he was overcompensating, as the only man left in the village) was clearly taught to him.
That being said it's a society in which men leave on long journeys for days or weeks at a time and leave their wives at home, so I wouldn't be surprised if homosexuality was common but not discussed. You get a boat husband, yall keep each other company during long voyages while both your wives are gone. The ladies meet up for "sewing circles" while the men are off doing their thing. It's something that happens, but even if you do indulge it's with the understanding that when you get back to the village or your spouse comes back from the hunt you two are married and whatever happened when you were separated is not discussed.
Open homesexuality in such a culture? Can you imagine? Absolutely not.
3. Northern Water Tribe
Again, super gendered society. Women are literally treated like property and supports to be used by men, not allowed to speak in political situations, etc.
The reason I separate the southern and nothern is that their way of living is so different that my conclusion is different as well.
The northern water tribe is far more sexist (southern, we see that gran gran is respected as an elder at least and her words are taken seriously) AND they don't have the same previously mentioned long trips in which the men and women are separated.
Therefore I don't think homosexuality is even okay as a silent, not-talked-about but generally accepted part of society. These guys would absolutely make laws against it.
4. Earth Kingdom
Initially similar problems to the water tribe. They're clearly a very gendered society, only men join the army from what we've seen, the women are at the very least encouraged to be pretty and silent, especially in higher social statuses. In a society that emphasizes the respective places of women and men so much, homosexuality is less likely to be accepted because it necessarily destroys those roles (hence the "okay but who's the man in your relationship" type questions--because people obsessed with gendered society cannot fathom the idea that a relationship can consist of two people not fulfilling the specific roles of "man" and "woman")
Similarly to the Northern Water Tribe, they also don't have the situations in which men and women are often separated for long periods of time. Plus just given the generally rigid, headstrong nature of earth benders as a whole combined with the sexist nature of their general social strata, I just don't think they're going to be easily swayed to accept an alternative family structure than the one they have decided (a man protecting and providing for the family, a woman to care for the children, and their children).
Clearly the earth nation is extremely large and there is a lot of variation between the sections of any society, so I don't doubt there are many places (especially further-removed locations that aren't so under the direct sway of the aforementioned nobility) where homosexuality is accepted even openly, but we're talking about the general societal attitude, not exceptions to the rule.
(This being said Omashu is not homophobic no matter how homophobic the rest of the earth kingdom is because I refuse to believe Bumi wouldn't immediately repeal any homophobic laws the moment he became king)
5. Fire Nation
The Fire Nation is the most equal society in terms of gender norms. This is the only nation that has just as many women as men in the military, and in political situations (although we see many of the higher ups are still men) women are allowed to have a place as well. No one objects to Azula being the next firelord on grounds of her being a woman, no one ever suggests that Azula, Mai, or Ty Lee don't know what they're doing because they're women or expresses surprise that a group of women took Ba Sing Se or whatever.
Now, in terms of accepted relationships I do agree that the nobility likely insist that their own children marry someone that they can have children with--because bloodlines are important in such a society, and royal matches have never been about love or attraction, they've been about making alliances and raising your social status and continuing bloodlines.
We don't see any evidence of harems in Avatar, but there are plenty of historical examples of a king marrying a woman to continue the bloodline and then having male concubines and such, which is what I would suggest as a reasonable way to portray this in the fire nation.
But generally speaking, to the common people, there is literally no reason for the fire nation to have a problem with homosexual relationships. In fact there are more positives than negatives to them, when you have both men and women as soldiers on your ships.
You can ban all sexual relationships in the hope that you can avoid your women soldiers getting pregnant, or you could turn a blind eye to gay relationships because guess what when you have lady soldiers that's a really great way to make sure no one gets pregnant while on really long assignments.
IN CONCLUSION
The reason the fire nation was said to be the only homophobic nation in the comics was plain and simple a "grr fire nation evil" mentality that didn't take into account any of the actual cultures presented, and people need to take into account that someone can be an evil rat bastard and not be homophobic, and there are bigger questions of society in play that you can't just say "oh they're evil and those guys are good so the first will be homophobic and the second wont"
See: Kaido from one piece as a great example of how a rat bastard is not homophobic or transphobic

the thing is i do think dean does misogynistic things i just think counting bitches isnt the way to accomplish analyzing his misogyny. like demon dean did a Bunch of misogyny and this is depicted as unusual for dean because it's primarily when he's a demon, and im not talking about using bitch hes fully calling a woman a slut and treating her like garbage. but the thing is i would actually like to hear similar instances of that coming from non-demon dean's mouth (and im sure they exist, 10x22 and 10x23 don't count to me because he was very obviously deep under the thrall of the mark of cain), but everyone is so focused on counting the number of "bad words" while not approaching any other character that way.
like sam viewing any character that sleeps with dean as a sloppy messy person is legitimately an instance of misogyny to me, even when he calls ruby a bitch im not taking it that seriously bc every character calls other characters the word "bitch" and personally that word doesn't bother me that much (maybe that means i've failed as a woman idk).
but i really struggle thinking of instances where dean is misogynistic to a woman like that, while in his right mind.
unrelated: this is why sam doesn't like castiel, bc he views him as sloppy and messy for wanting to fuck dean.
"does this mean he's being misogynistic to castiel" yes because that's funny to say.
lmaooo misogynistic to castiel CANCEL HIM!!!
This post may be of interest.
As for season 10 demon Dean/MoC Dean, it's actually really interesting when you look at everything holistically, because it isn't as simple as saying MoC/Demon Dean says/does some misogynistic things. He does do that undoubtably. Yet he's also very specifically angry at and violent toward men who mistreat women.
When Demon Dean sees a man (perhaps an ex boyfriend) mistreating Ann Marie (and we get the vibe that this man is stalking her) Demon Dean beats the fuck out of him. When Crowley asks Demon Dean to handle a contract for him, Demon Dean immediately clocks that the client (Lester) who wants his wife murdered cheated on his wife first and now wants her dead for cheating back. Demon Dean climbs into Lester's car and points this out to him. When Lester says "It's different when guys do it", Demon Dean rolls his eyes, scoffs, and then punches Lester in the face so hard it knocks out his tooth, then he murders him, breaking the contract he was supposed to fulfill. When a group of men try to traffic Claire, MoC Dean ends up blacking out and slaughtering all of them. When MoC Dean realizes in "Girls, Girls, Girls" that he's on a date with prostitute who wants payment for sex, though we know Dean isn't necessarily against sex work in general, he instantly clocks that Shaylene is not happy with the situation she's in, and his gentle tone when he says she doesn't look like she actually loves her job leads her to open up to him about being forced into sex work by demons. When MoC Dean finds a man who hurt Claire in 10.20, who then proceeds to call her a bitch in defense of his actions, MoC Dean slams his head into a table for insulting her. While MoC Dean's handling of the case of the dead girl 10.22 is clearly delivered through a misogynistic lens, just by looking at a photo, he clocks her father as having abused her and ends up blaming him for what happened to his daughter (and I'll come back to this in a moment).
So we have demon dean telling the woman he's sleeping with that he sleeps with every skank in every small town dive he passes through (which btw—is not even remotely true of regular Dean), and Demon Dean getting grabby with a stripper, and MoC Dean in 10.23 at first victim blaming a murder victim because of the clothes she was wearing, but then we also have... all of the rest of this. And if we look at all of it together, there's much deeper and more interesting questions here than "Is Demon Dean/MoC Dean a misogynist or not and what does that say about regular Dean if anything".
I think we're actually getting insights into 1) Amara's rage at Chuck working through Dean's hands, causing him to react violently to men who imprison/cage the women in their lives physically or psychologically. 2) Amara's rage exacerbating Dean's feeling about his own history with sexual abuse and his problems with John. In 10.09, the same episode where Dean kills the traffickers who targeted Claire, he tells Cas a story (at Sam's behest) about a time he was drugged in a club by adults as a teenager. He snuck out looking for a good time, and he probably figured sex wasn't off the table when a group of women invited him to join their table, and he joined them enthusiastically. He was not cognizant of the fact that a group of adults showing interest in someone who was "way underage" was a blinking neon sign screaming "run". He was plied with alcohol and drugged, and it's made pretty transparent that he would have been raped (and maybe killed or trafficked too) if John had not followed him. Cas concludes that John "saved" Dean, and Dean agrees with that framing at the time, and admonishes his younger self for yelling at his father for "embarrassing" him when he put himself in a foolish situation. In 10.23, MoC Dean encounters the case of a girl who snuck out to meet someone for sex and was kidnapped by a monster. When he first sees her corpse, he says she shouldn't have worn the outfit she had on (and we already know this is completely ooc for regular Dean). But as MoC Dean learns more about the case and when he meets her father, his view of the situation shifts. I created a gifset comparing this scene with the one from 10.09 because I think there's a really interesting connection here. The girl's father suggests that his daughter going out looking for sex would make her a slut. MoC Dean responds, "I'll admit that thought crossed my mind. Then I came here, and I smelled the deceit and the beatings and the shame that pervade this home. And you know what? I don't blame Rose anymore. No wonder she put on that skank outfit and went out there looking for validation, right into the arms of the monster that killed her." His word choices are colorful and carry negative connotations, but he's actually defending her decisions, and at the same time, I think he's reflecting on his own decision as a kid to go out in search of validation to a club where he was nearly raped. It isn't her fault and it wasn't his fault. Their fathers mistreated them and blamed them and failed them, and they went out looking for someone—anyone—to show them care they were starved for.
In the same way, when Demon Dean has this exchange with Ann Marie in 10.01:
ANNEMARIE: I wait tables at a roadhouse. I meet the bad guys. I meet the good guys. And maybe for a second there, I thought you were a good guy playing bad. I don't know. It doesn't matter. Maybe you're just -- DEAN: The kind of guy who sleeps with every skank in every small-town dive that he passes through? Well, you really do know how to read people, 'cause that sure as hell sounds like me.
His language doesn't just suggest she's a skank—it suggests he's a skank. He engages in casual hook ups, and therefore he is a bad person, and she shouldn't look for any sort of redeemable qualities in him. These things obviously aren't true—neither Dean nor Anne Marie are "sullied" by their sexual histories, and their interest in casual sex doesn't make them bad people, but that's one of the narratives of the world Demon Dean accepts at the beginning of the season. By the end of the season, MoC Dean rejects this narrative about him and people like him. The desire for connection through sex doesn't make someone bad or deserving of harm.

Round boy + mask = square jaw
Pointy boy + mask = egg
Why?
wade's mask is masc. (hahaehehehahaeo...)
Tumblr media
wade does a lot to mask his soft interior – he worries a lot about appearing soft.
Tumblr media
[x]
he's GETTING SOFT (and peter loves it. he loves when wade gets soft.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[x]
underneath it all, wade's soft and round. no matter how he tries to hide it.
Tumblr media
[x]
wade is always hiding it – to way more extreme and destructive measures than peter, actually.
Tumblr media
it's kind of funny, wade's insistence that peter needs to be honest to himself - because wade's the poster boy. wade finds it difficult to be true to himself, because he doesn't even know which "self" is true at this point. he's constantly pretending to be someone or something else.
Tumblr media
something that'll please others. make him more palatable. more entertaining. make the audience side with him, even if he thinks he's undeserving. fake it till you make it.
Tumblr media
sometimes i think about how wade lost his virginity the night before he enlisted (because he was worried the guys would make fun of him if he was a virgin.)
Tumblr media
of course they made fun of him anyway.
Tumblr media
he doubles down - he puts on the macho air that everyone expects from him. he can be the bad boy. he can be the rugged antihero that is a total jerk but everyone loves anyway because he's the tough guy. it's why you'll never get to see what adult wade looked like pre-weapon X - you'll see wade in his teenage years - but once he enlists - that's not wade wilson. he's constantly playing a role. cool action hero, whatever'll get him the girl.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it isn't until weapon X that he's forced into a position where he can't hide anymore. everything is on his skin. plain as day, for everyone to see.
Tumblr media
[x]
deadpool becomes the mask wade can hide all his damage and his insecurities behind because lord knows he can't hide a thing when he's out of it. like a lobster out of his shell. he's soft, and pink and tender. he couldn't survive without that hard red shell exterior, to make him look tough.
peter's mask is also masc, but his mask is peter parker.
Tumblr media
spider-man is kind of funny. in that – outwardly, it does look similar to deadpool's performative masculinity. he has "-man" in his name, for christ's sake - but - it's not, really. you wouldn't say spider-man is overly macho. even as much as peter insists it is - nobody buys it.
Tumblr media
you'd definitely, by all accounts, call peter parker the more masc aligned of the two - peter wears baggy clothes, he's kind of uptight, a little bit boring - and spider-man - spider-man's downright flamboyant - from his mannerisms, his jokes, and his tights. oh, and his fluttery little web-wings. he is fruity.
spider-man, in his tiny fruity little tights: YEAH. take a look at ME, girls. this is what true manhood looks like.
you might say the confidence it grants him is what makes him macho - but i think the fun thing about peter's gender journey is his embracal that actually - confidence isn't necessarily a masculine trait, and that - actually, his gender icons (save for uncle ben) are largely confident women.
Tumblr media
i think that's why olive is so dear to me - that peter's leaning into a confidence and self-assuredness that doesn't come from being conventionally masculine. and, in fact - peter parker might be so shy and insecure because he's trying to fit in a box that doesn't fit him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i think spider-man is more of a playground for peter. a place where he can experiment with his gender and his sexuality and the concept of "manhood" and what it means to him.
Tumblr media
he can explore, because the anonymity grants him less social pressure to fit in. society can despise spider-man, and yeah - it'll get him down, but the repercussions are relatively little. peter has to fit in, to survive. and, as peter parker, he's terrified of those repercussions.
Tumblr media
peter has such a desire to explore his identity and understand himself better - but, under safe, controlled conditions - whether that's under the anonymity of his mask or... or with people, who make him feel safe.
so, spider-man is peter's outlet to be fruity without repercussions. peter's og dragsona, actually. so – lithe, and curvy. he is so shape.

Hi! Absolutely adore your DBZ analyses, thank you so much - just spent a delightful time reading them all. I was wondering, since you've commented on Chi-Chi and Goku's marriage, what do you have to say about Vegeta and Bulma's relationship? (I've always been entranced by it - mostly because as with all his romances, Toriyama had the wisdom not to show any of it onscreen. But I'd love to know your thoughts about it.)
Bulma and Vegeta are a match made in Hell, and they deserve each other. (Which is to say yes, I love this ship.)
Hooking Bulma up with Vegeta was a hell of a narrative swerve. Generally speaking, stories rarely do this; They rarely let characters break up once they're already invested in a romance, unless it's supposed to be like a love triangle thing.
And Bulma? Bulma was invested. At least, to a degree.
Tumblr media
This was the birth of the original Bulma romance that ran through about half of the manga. Two teens interesting in the opposite sex suddenly realize the availability of the other and a relationship is born.
Toriyama says he's bad at writing romance but to be honest, this has always hit me as more believable than your typical drawn-out five-seasons-of-pining Will They/Won't They affair. I'm a girl. You're a boy. Wanna go out and see what clicks?
And these two... these two do not click. We only really see their relationship from Bulma's perspective but it's clear that these two are miserable together.
The manga sorta takes Bulma's side, in that we never really get to hear Yamcha's opinion about their relationship one way or another. When he's around, all he wants to do is talk shop about martial arts. Since Toriyama doesn't like to write romance, we simply don't see much of it from them. What little we do hear about it comes from Bulma complaining about how miserable she is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bulma is pretty much always pissed off whenever the relationship is in focus at all.
Anime filler tends to take Yamcha's side instead, portraying him as a put-upon victim of Bulma's jealousy and abuse. A nice guy who doesn't deserve the way she treats him.
It's not hard to buy into this interpretation of their relationship since, as noted, we rarely get anything from Yamcha with regard to his relationship to women or Bulma specifically but we know Bulma's a lot. It's easy to accept Bulma as the "bad guy" of this relationship because. Like. Remember that time she enslaved a sentient being? Good times.
Though one particular moment from Yamcha later on kinda stands out as a bit of a retroactive Yikes.
Tumblr media
Yeah. Uh. Threatening violence against a woman for rejecting his bro is a bit of a Yikes. Is this who we were supposed to see Yamcha as all this time? Because, if so, it might have helped to let him opine about the relationship more. Just saiyan.
According to Toriyama in interview, Yamcha and Bulma ultimately broke up because she caught Yamcha cheating on her. I guess that's what him being "popular with girls" was supposed to mean: Once he got over his gynophobia and found confidence with the opposite sex, Yamcha became a player.
But that doesn't necessarily come across from the statement, "Bulma can't stand that Yamcha's popular with girls." A lot of fans took that to mean girls just like him for no reason, and Bulma's unreasonably jealous about it. The anime took that position too.
Note that the "Yamcha is popular with girls" thing isn't helped by the fact that we never see it on-panel because he's only ever talking shop when he's around. But we do see a wandering eye from Bulma often enough.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's nothing wrong with enjoying the aesthetic appeal of another party even when you're in a monogamous relationship, but it doesn't really present the "Other party is a womanizer and cheater" case when you're the only one ever seen doing this.
So it feels like there's a lot about Yamcha and Bulma's relationship that never made it to print yet influenced later decisions. Those decisions ended up being controversial because the foundation for those decisions was never laid. Here, Toriyama's disdain for writing romance worked against him.
But ultimately, regardless of whose side you take, it doesn't really matter. It doesn't matter who the "bad guy" is. A healthy relationship does not have a "bad guy" in it.
Whether or not Yamcha cheated, whether or not Bulma's just an unreasonably jealous hell-beast, it doesn't actually matter. What matters is that once you reach the point where you're taking sides over which party is the most obnoxious asshole and I hate you and I wish we never met... this relationship is not working for anybody.
It doesn't matter who the bad guy is. It doesn't matter who deserves the blame for this relationship being a toxic shithole. That there is blame to throw around in the first place is the problem. Every relationship has its ups and downs but if one party is constantly miserable for years and has possibly been looking for an escape hatch since year 1, that's not a little tiff.
What matters is that these two are not working out. Any time we see their relationship in focus, they are miserable together. The anime tried to do some patchwork on that with audience reception by giving them some cute moments as well, but because those moments aren't canon the pair remained miserable.
And then this happened.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite everything, I think we all assumed that Bulma and Yamcha were going to work it out. Fictional relationships are often portrayed as tumultuous. To a writer, nothing says true love like being constantly miserable and despising every waking moment you spend with your awful, nagging ball-and-chain of a spouse. That's just. Like. What the straights think romance is. It's weird.
I think we all thought that was going to be the deal here too. And then Trunks came along and said, "Nope, actually, they finally severed the cord."
Again, Toriyama says he's bad at writing romance but holy shit, the toxic and miserable relationship actually ended. The two characters involved who only got together out of loneliness and desperation later found they were incompatible with each other. That's so real. Much moreso than a lot of fictional romances.
Instead, we got the absolute crack ship that is Vegeta and Bulma. What a wild-ass revelation for Trunks to drop.
Like. Until the end of the Namek arc, this was the only time these two characters even met.
Tumblr media
She also saw Vegeta for like two seconds here.
Tumblr media
That was it. That was their entire history together until Goku defeated Frieza while Kaio sent everyone to Earth. But that's when everything changed for Vegeta.
Stranded on Earth with no ship, no affiliations, no ability to leave the planet and nowhere to go or be and no obligations to anyone but himself, Vegeta's circumstances were wildly different than they'd ever been before. He had become one of the Namekian refugees.
And Bulma was offering refuge.
Tumblr media
Hard to resist, indeed. That moment is absolutely hilarious in retrospect. Bulma rolled a Nat 20 on that charisma check. It's pretty clear who the instigator of this relationship was.
Like. It needs to be stated that at this point, the only thing Bulma knew about Vegeta was that he tried to kill them all multiple times, and also he's kinda hot. But. Like.
Tumblr media
It's Bulma. Anyone who doesn't expect this from her by now either hasn't been paying attention or started watching the English dub of the anime when they did Z first.
So, naturally, Vegeta is a kind and loving man and became a phenomenal husband and fa--
Tumblr media
Wait. No. I got my notes mixed up. It says here Vegeta's a rotten dirty bastard. Like. Chronically. He has Supreme Dickshit Syndrome. It's genetic.
Most of Bulma and Vegeta's developing relationship happens offscreen. From what snippets we get, Vegeta has a tendency to vanish during the day, but he still lives at Capsule Corp so Bulma sees him around.
Tumblr media
By the end of the three-year timeskip, it's official. Or semi-official. Yamcha and Bulma broke up at some point during that timeskip and Bulma's given birth to Trunks.
Tumblr media
As for Vegeta, he's evidently moved out of Capsule Corp and into his own place.
Tumblr media
I guess he's still keeping contact with Bulma since she knows what his intentions are. Not to mention he found his tranquility during these three years, though it's somewhat ambiguous as to what exactly brought that peace to his heart.
But the relationship is off to a rocky start nonetheless. Clearly something went down between Vegeta and Bulma that drove Vegeta out of Capsule Corp. To. Uh. Somewhere.
I like to imagine Vegeta living in some shitty West City apartment he rents off a stipend Bulma's sending him that he refuses to openly acknowledge. Like, room 101 is a down-on-his-luck tax accountant, room 102 is a couple with a kid trying to make ends meet off two retail workers' salaries, and then room 103 is Vegeta, Prince of All Saiyans. Sometimes he goes to community events and pretends he isn't having fun.
No lie, I would absolutely watch that as a sitcom.
As for Vegeta himself, he's still a rotten dirty bastard.
Tumblr media
Worth noting that Vegeta's saying this as a Super Saiyan which means he's drunk on the form's enhanced aggression. But. Still. Vegeta is an absolute monster being dragged kicking and screaming into a pleasant life that he'll one day resent himself for enjoying. This is his arc moving forward.
It's not so much a redemption arc as it is a domestication arc. The uniquely evil even by Saiyan standards Vegeta is gradually being changed by his new terrestrial life. He doesn't want to own up to how much he enjoys it here. Seven years later, he's still desperate to avoid owning up to it.
Tumblr media
He doesn't want to be happy here. He doesn't want a loving wife and a son who looks up to him and the most lavish home wealth can afford him and easy, comfortable days spent with friends and loved ones by his side. He doesn't want a happy ending.
But it's like Bulma warned him: Dragon Ball's queen bee is hard to resist.
Tumblr media
Welcome back to Capsule Corp, Vegeta. We hardly even noticed you were gone. Honestly, Future Trunks deserves a lot of the credit for this; Watching him die at the Cell Games was what flipped the switch in Vegeta's head that he wants the family he and Bulma have spawned together.
Tumblr media
Sure is a good thing we have Dragon Balls because this is a hell of a time to suddenly decide you love your son. But we see the consequences of that seven years later, since Vegeta moved back into Capsule Corp from... I don't know, wherever he went. They're gonna miss him at the next community poolside summer BBQ event for all tenants.
Part of what makes Vegeta and Bulma work, I think, is that they're on the same page about one crucial point. For Bulma, there is one person who will always take precedent in her life above all others. Romance comes and romance goes, but this is the relationship that matters most to her.
Tumblr media
Especially when it comes to martial arts and fighting. Bulma doesn't know a lot about the subject, but she knows that Son Goku is her #1. She has no reservations about saying that to her lover's face either.
Tumblr media
When fists start flying, Bulma knows who she's rooting for. If Goku's involved, then it's not her guy. That's. Just. Something that anyone who wants to be with her has to be willing to understand. The single most important relationship in Bulma's life will always be her friendship with Goku.
And the thing about Vegeta is... He kind of agrees? Like. See above, re: I wanted Babidi to destroy my feelings for Bulma so that I could become the warrior that can fight with you, Kakarot.
As much as Goku will always be Bulma's #1, he'll also always be Vegeta's #1. He even gets included into Vegeta's fond farewell to the family he loves.
Tumblr media
Goku is basically the platonic third in a two-person polycule. This is the second marriage that this poor ace plays a vital role in despite having no real interest in romance whatsoever.
Bulma is selfish, spiteful, petty, and vain. At one point, DBS: Broly directly compares her to Frieza; A comparison that manages to be unbelievably unflattering to both participants.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're the same picture. A revelation that would probably be horrifying to both.
And Vegeta. Especially Vegeta. But. Like. She warned you she was irresistible. You didn't take her seriously and now look where you are. Married to the She-Frieza. Maybe you should think about your life choices.
This is just. So much fun. As I said at the outset, Bulma and Vegeta are a match made in Hell who make it work because they're both similar brands of awful.
As for Yamcha, it's a little known fact but Yamcha rebounded and moved on with his life. He stops having much story relevancy after he leaves Capsule Corporation so we see very little of his private life from there. After retiring from martial arts and splitting up with Bulma, Yamcha's left without any story hooks to keep him involved.
But there was this interesting moment, when he realized they had a Shenron wish to spare.
Tumblr media
After Krillin comes up with something better to use the wish on, he takes it back and claims it was a joke.
Tumblr media
This is, surprisingly, a point of contention in the fandom as some of Yamcha's fans prefer the idea that he died miserable and alone after Bulma ruined his life by leaving him. This takeback gets pointed to as proof that he made up his girlfriend entirely. However, in context, it's clear that a) he's trying to brush off his earlier attempt at making a petty wish and b) the thing he's transparently pretending was a joke is the necklace wish, not the existence of his new girlfriend.
Like Bulma, Yamcha moved on with his life after the break up of their miserable relationship. And that was the final word that was ever uttered on Yamcha's romantic prospects, because this was the last time he was ever meaningfully involved with anything at all.

This isn't a discourse post. I am not going to argue with anybody in the notes. If you disagree that's fine but keep it to yourself. I just need to vent.
It's so depressing to see the state of the transfem community on tumblr right now, and what passes for feminism. All of tumblr suffers from the problem of equating "man" with "bad" but it's particularly painful to see that coming from my fellow trans women. Like we're the primary targets of terfs right? (not the only targets though, trans men catch plenty of hate from terfs too) We're supposed to know better.
Some of the ideas I've seen passed around transfem spaces would be celebrated by terfs if you just swap out the term "TME" for men, or trans women. We're supposed to know that gender is complicated, that it's not a binary, and that one's identity doesn't necessarily line up with the societal idea of who they are. We're supposed to know that it's not ok to talk over other groups and assume they have it better than us just because we see them as man(bad).
Transmisogyny is so real and so important and we are silenced constantly when we talk about it. I understand the anger, and the hurt. I get why it feels important to have a term to describe all the people that try to shout us down because they don't want to admit that we're oppressed but in practice it's just become another word used to silence someone else.
We've lost our way. In our fight to have our oppression recognized we've forgotten that other groups have their own unique experiences that need to be heard too. It just hurts to see all this hate being thrown at random trans guys and intersex people who just want to talk about their own lives and struggles.

Sakura fic recs: captured on a mission/mission gone wrong
Okay, I'm going to be completely honest with y'all, I'm really just recommending stuff by my favorite tropes lmao. Quite honestly, mission gone wrong just makes things so much more entertaining. Poor Sakura though, this girl just can't catch a damn break.
Now, I should point out that there are MANY Sakura fics out there were the mission goes wrong, but in this list I am only going to put ones where that is the primary focus of the series.
Started: 2024.07.23
Last Updated: 2024.07.25
note: feel free to check out my master list which has a bunch of Sakura Haruno fic recs (all organized)!
----
Survival of the fittest - cywscross || ao3 || T || shikasaku || mission gone wrong || one shot
Sakura is thirteen, still a Genin, lost in the middle of Earth Country, lugging an unconscious Chuunin around, and so far beyond scared that she’s moved right on to pissed off.
Survival of the Fittest is a fabulous one-shot that follows the trouble that Sakura and Shikamaru find themselves in after accidentally landing themselves in Iwa. This story depicts the characters truthfully and fully conveys exactly how hopeless they feel in their situation. I highly recommend.
.
The Ocean is Deep and Dark - Pleasedial123 || ao3 || M || captured || complete
Gato doesn't trust Zabuza to get the job done. Instead he sends a team of thugs to ambush the Bridge Builder on his return to Wave. Team Seven, exhausted from their fight and Kakashi still unconscious, is separated. Sakura gets captured.Terrible things happen to pretty girls in the hands of men like Gato and his thugs. But Zabuza puts his claim in first and suddenly Sakura isn't the prisoner of a civillian businessman and his hired muscle. Suddenly she's Momichi Zabuza's.
I won't lie, I have a soft spot for fics that take place during the land of waves arc, especially when they focus on Sakura's growth. I love how Zabuza was portrayed in this as although he wasn't necessarily a bad guy, he wasn't a good one either. He simply has morals. Sakura's fear in this is also quite raw and eye opening as it covers a theme that isn't ever covered in the original series. The reality is, the world is not kind to women, and a captured young female ninja is most certainly going to be at some untasteful risks. Oh, team 7's concern was also pretty touching ngl.
.
With Every Beat - halfdemonfan || ffn || sasusaku || M || canon divergent || incomplete
Pain can come in various forms. Sakura had suffered all of them; but with the war raging on she found the torture would continue.
If I'm completely honest, With Every Beat probably isn't the best rec for this trope since from what I remember Sakura is not captured for too long. I never did get very far reading this so I don't have too much to say, but it takes place during the war arc and is an interesting take.
.
Ripples - Yellow Mask || ffn || sasusaku || T || captured || complete
Following a botched mission, Sakura is made a slave by Sound, a position that could very well alter the future…especially concerning a certain familiar missing-nin.
Ripples is probably one of the og mission gone wrong/captured Sakura fics, as far as I am aware, but it's pretty good! On her way back from a mission, she manages to get captured and is taken to Orochimaru's hideout. Super interesting to see as Sasuke is still with the sanin at this time.
.
The Pack Survives - ihopethelightwillshineupon || ao3 || team 7 || mission gone wrong || complete
When a simple C-rank mission turns into a straight-up nightmare, the members of Team Seven narrowly escape with their lives. They end up stuck in the middle of nowhere, each of them injured and forced to rely on one another for help. They’ve only been a team for a couple of weeks, still distant from one another, still trying hard to prove themselves. But when they’re all hurt and struggling desperately to survive, they have no choice but to lower their walls.Stranded far away from the village, Team Seven fights to get back home safely – but with help impossibly far away, with their food supplies shrinking and with their injuries slowing them down, their journey becomes more difficult with every step.In the wake of their struggle, though, their bonds grow steadily stronger.
Sakura is not the main character in this one as it it more focused on team 7 as a whole, but she still has some great development! Essentially, in typical team 7 fashion, they find themselves in a bit of a pickle during a mission and it results in some great bonding between them.
.
An Inch of Gold - KuriQuinn || ffn || sasusaku || T || mission gone wrong - time travel AU || complete
Team 7 is sent on a mission to investigate a disturbance outside of the village, where they encounter an unconscious girl in a crater. The mysterious Sarada insists she's a shinobi from the Hidden Leaf trying to rescue her teammates. When the team discovers she possesses a Sharingan, things become even more unbelievable. [Part of the Legacy of Fire Series]
Somehow, the Boruto and Naruto timelines interconnect and Sarada literally falls into team 7's mission. Things only get worse from there. The writing captures the personalities of the characters so well and I'm a complete sucker for the whole Sarada meets Sakura and Sasuke trope!! Sasusaku is super cute in this (while being realistic) and I love how Kakashi is such a shipper. Also, this is a multiple perspective fic.
.
Dirt and Ashes, or: The One-and-a-Half Body Problem - Tozette || captured || gen || M || canon divergent || complete
The invasion of Konoha during the chuunin exam didn't fail. Team seven is broken, people are dead, and Sakura is hurt and frightened and a very long way from home.Alternative summary: In which Sakura carries half of Hidan across two countries, leaving a trail of blood, bodies, and other people's legs.
This one is pretty gross tbh, but I highly recommend!
.
Only a Crush by Gingersoup || ao3 || kakasaku || M || canon divergent || complete
It was supposed to be an easy, fun night out. She never intended to wake up in her sensei's bed, half-naked and with no memory of what happened the night before! As she tries to unravel the mystery of that night, something sinister is growing beyond the walls of the Leaf Village... and what was only a crush spirals wildly out of control.
I can't really say much without spoiling, but Sakura is unwillingly thrust into the world of illegal drugs, trafficking, and sex all while coming to terms with her new feelings regarding her former sensei. I typically don't like kakasaku, but I think this work is done tastefully well. The characters are both adults and the immorality of the relationship is not ignored, so be prepared for a lot of "we can't," "this is wrong," etc.. Anyway, Sakura is an absolute powerhouse and I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between all of the different characters and villages!
.
Got Nothing to Prove (but I'ma show you how I do) - GuardianMars || ao3 || gen || T || mission gone wrong || incomplete
Civilians and orphans are always used as cannon fodder. Sakura’s not sure where she first came by this phrase. Whether she heard it or read it, she can’t quite remember, but it stuck in her head and it stays in the back of her mind whenever Team 7 takes a mission. When Sakura and Tenten get placed on a temporary team looking into a series of kidnappings of local village girls, Sakura is naturally worried. She doesn't want to be cannon fodder. When the mission goes to pot, Sakura and Tenten find themselves far away from home and with only each other to rely on. As it turns out being cannon fodder is the least of their worries.
Genin Sakura and TenTen are sent on a mission due to their unimpressive lineage and things go wrong. This is a bit of a mystery where details of the mission are uncovered as the series progresses and is seen from the prospective of both the girls and their sensei's who are desperately trying to bring them back.
.
The Storm Beneath - CrimsonEden || ao3 || gen || T || mission gone wrong || one-shot complete
Sakura skidded to a halt. “Sensei?” she choked out, voice raw and painful. Kakashi made no reply. His eyes stared desperately up at her, as if he thought that she was going to disappear if he looked away. One of his hands reached out slowly, like he wanted to touch her face, to check to see did she was really there. His eyes were glazed over and his chest was heaving from the force of his heavy breaths. She stood there frozen, unsure of what to say or do. How could things have gone so wrong? . . . . . A simple mission goes horribly wrong, and Team-7 finds themselves stuck in the wilderness injured and facing Kakashi’s past demons. POV Kakashi and Sakura.
Team 7's mission gone wrong not just lands them in a complete disaster physically and politically, but also uncovers some of Kakashi's trauma. Really well written and focuses a lot on the team bonding, primarily Sakura and Kakashi, which I love.
.
Team Seven and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Roadtrip -Transformatron || ao3 || gen || T || captured || incomplete
No chakra. No allies. Captured by an unknown enemy a thousand miles from home, Team Seven must work together if they want to survive - which, if you ask Sakura, puts their life expectancy at approximately one week. If she’s feeling generous.
Team 7 is captured and the enemy is trying to get information out of them by any means possible. Follow them as they try to escape.
.
final exams coming up! - waterpllar || ao3 || gen || M || captured || complete
Kakuzu can name numerous reasons why Hatake Kakashi could make him an excellent profit, most of which involve the numerous organizations he's sabotaged. Specific figures would certainly be willing to pay very well for free reign to relieve their violent frustrations on one of the most notorious jounin in the Bingo books. Such a business would only function with a healer on hand, but it just so happens that a vast majority of shinobi teams have a healer, and there is a pink-haired genin without a bloodline limit or bijuu on the team. What he did not anticipate is that the Copy-nin's teaching might be so remiss that he hadn't trained said genin in any iryo-ninjutsu whatsoever. Kakuzu does not like making oversights, and he decides to remedy this fact immediately (unluckily for sakura).
Kakuzu captured Sakura and Kakashi in an attempt to make money (of course) off of Kakashi's many enemies and Sakura is forced to learn medical ninjutsu in order to keep him alive. Although this is marked as complete and could be considered that to those who read it, the ending is not very conclusive tbh (I wanted more).
Edit: ok this actually just got updated even though it’s marked as complete, so ig it’s still ongoing?? Maybe???
.
New Day Dawning - IncompleteSentanc (Erava) || ao3 || narusaku || T || captured || complete
One day, while visiting the grave of Nohara Rin, Obito stumbles across a young girl terrifyingly like her. He decides to ensure she doesn’t meet the same fate. As for Sakura? Sakura had no idea what she was awakening the day she went to visit her parents graves - but she never looked back. One way or another.(Feat. Sakura raised by Obito and the Akatsuki, and her eventual return to Konoha and all those she left behind)
Sakura is brainwashed and manipulated, but loved by notorious killers nonetheless. Incredibly well written and I won't lie when I say that the ending took me a bit by surprise.
.
Your childhood home is just powder-white bones (and you'll never find your way back) - Dovey || ao3 || gen || M || captured || complete
Sasuke is not the only one who worries he's getting too comfortable in his genin life. Itachi decides to add another motivator to Sasuke's revenge plans by kidnapping the teammate who wasn't a charismatic Jinchuriki. Sakura is used to being an objective for those around her, not a person, but even for her this is a little much. In which Sakura is held captive and learns what a genjutsu specialist can do to a person's mind, that sharks can actually make great friends, joins a dying clan, and gets regifted multiple times before she's finally strong enough to fight back. *while this fic contains explicit and graphic torture, there's no sexual assault.
Okay, this was actually a really hard read for me. We truly see Sakura's decline in this as she slowly loses her mind and it is very frustrating to see what has happened to her. Nonetheless, it is extremely well written and great is you want something dark.
.
Freedom in the Eyes of Another - Oroburos69 || ffn || gen || M || captured || complete
The Wave Mission was a failure. They got caught, captured, taken-it didn't end well. Now Sakura has a half-heard order, uncut fingernails, and more desperation than bravery. One way or another, she's getting Team Seven out today. Complete.
I actually can't believe that I forgot to add this the first time I wrote this list! Anyway, team 7 is captured on the mission to Wave and Sakura takes Kakashi's mumble and runs with it! Pretty interesting as we get some nice team bonding and there are some other popular character appearances too.

Like always, please send me recs if you have any!

REVISITED LESBIAN MASTERDOC
I wanna share with y'all my version of the lesbian masterdoc. we know the og is a bit problematic, but it helped me sm, so I revisited it. if you don't have a lot of points you aren't necessarily a lesbian. notice that a lot of points also have cons (maybe you're bi and you prefer women, you have orientation OCD, you're aroace, that's your taste in men, you are emotionally unavailable, etc). so here we go...
you believe women are objectively pretty and men are objectively ugly
you believe love is just friendship with kisses
you see having sex with men as a burden
if you're a virgin, you wanna have your first time with a man in a long time
using religion as an excuse (subconsciously) to have sex after marriage
in your sexual fantasies the man is not very detailed/the more there are details the more you're bored or disinterested/you're the observer of the scene and you focus on the woman
you constantly doubt you're into men, but you don't do that with women
you find interesting men that you can't have (taken/married men, gay men, aroace men, fictional men, celebrities, much older men, men who clearly don't give a shit about you)
you prefer having long-distance relationships with men
in series and movies you focus on female characters and don't care about the male ones
having sex with men as a form of self-harm subconsciously
you prefer feminine men
when you think you have a crush on a guy, your fantasies are never actually romantic (ex. you imagine yourselves simply hanging out and enjoying each other's company, with no kisses or stuff like that)
you think you're not attracted to men cuz you still have to find the one
you have very high standards with men, but not with women
you run away as soon as the boy likes you back
finding absurd other girls lose their minds over men
not getting what's so special about certain men (ex. Leonardo DiCaprio)
you have never noticed him, but when other girls start to like him you start to crush on him, too
crushing on the guy that is liked by the girl you're super close with
believing that being attracted to men means simply finding them "nice"
choosing a boy as a crush just because someone asked you if you liked somebody or they pressured you
wishing you were a lesbian
believing you can't be a lesbian because you would've already known
believing you gotta have sex with your man just to show him you care for him, not because you enjoy it
basing your attraction for men on their personality only
finding boring future with a man
being scared of being a lesbian and asking yourself if you're one at the same time
having an intense friendship with a woman, especially if she's sapphic
always imagining yourself with a man in the future, knowing you'd rather be with a woman
thinking you'd be 100% with a woman in a world with no homophobia
changing a lot of labels, but never considering the lesbian one. you'd rather go directly for aroace
believing you're into men, but you don't care about making male friends or you have never found them interesting, not even in a platonic way
when a straight fantasy isn't making you horny, you change the story many and many times to try to turn you on on purpose to prove your heterosexuality/bisexuality
you go out with any man that likes you
you want men to want you, but when it works it makes you feel uncomfortable
getting into a straight relationship just for material convenience or to feel cool or not to let the world think you could be sapphic
wishing your boyfriend wasn't that into romantic stuff and sex
you get over men very fast
wishing for a relationship, not really for a boyfriend
wanting sex with men for validation
you need to be drunk or high to have hetero sex
wanting straight sex only if you're subdued
wanting to kiss a girl friend "to know how to kiss boys"
touching a girl by mistake and feeling weird after it (it could be simply an arm touch)
feeling awkward in a changing room
"if she were a boy, I'd be with her"/"if I were a boy, I'd be with her"
"if I were him, I'd never treat her like that"
being obsessed with queer culture as an "ally"
"everyone is a little bit gay"
everyone thinks you are
wanting to kiss a female friend as a sign of "big friendship"
some girls kiss each other to turn men on, so you take subconsciously this opportunity to kiss one because you actually desire to
kissing girls when you're drunk/high
you constantly find ways not to believe you're a lesbian
you find more sensible gay men's attraction than straight girl's attraction to men
not having "enough time for men and relationships"
if your friend uses other pronouns too, you use them a lot, more than the feminine ones to subconsciously bypass your attraction
treating bad out of nowhere the girl you were so attached to
every time you find a man funny you automatically think you're into him
you try to like men to feel more feminine (for trans girls)
joking many times about not being attracted to men or their genitals
btw if you're sure you don't like men in a sexual way, but you still don't know if you like them emotionally I recommend to research on limerence. that's how I realised I was a lesbian<3
I hope all of this helps you girlies. you're always valid♡

I've ruminated a lot about how Joowon doesn't process social cues as a normal person would, for reasons that may be due to his nature or to his upbringing: he's read as someone who's either neurodivergent / autistic, or a survivor of childhood trauma with CPTSD—or quite possibly both.
I realize this because with both Dongsik and Hyeok, Joowon completely misunderstood what the two of them were trying to tell him—that both of them were just trying to protect him, each in their own way.
In Busan, Hyeok told Joowon this:
"Joowon-ah. A good boy like you who learned everything from books and believes the world is just and fair shouldn't get involved with a nutcase like Lee Dongsik. He'll make use of you in every single way, and nothing will go your way. You struggle, and you put up a fight. Then he ends up devouring you. And like that, the end. "It's okay, Joowon-ah. We can't help it. How can you, who had a privileged life, win against a guy who had to tough it out on the streets? You could never win unless you were reborn. That's why I, who also lived a tough life will do everything I can to— "Just leave everything to me."
What Hyeok has been trying to tell Joowon here is that he, as Joowon's hyung, his surrogate older brother, will be the one to do all the dirty work in Joowon's stead, because Joowon couldn't possibly understand what it's like due to the privileged life he leads.
Joowon, however, interprets it as a dare.
'You have to be reborn. You have to be exactly like Dongsik.'
And that's exactly what he did: he followed Hyeok's advice according to his own interpretation of what Hyeok told him. (He even thanked Hyeok for it, which meant he clearly understood it as advice but with an entirely different interpretation.)
It's why post-Episode 8, I don't look at Joowon as a "worse" version of himself, but I see him as doing his best to be Dongsik 2.0. After all, that's whom Hyeok told him to be like.
He did exactly what Dongsik did with Minjeong's fingers and Lee Geumhwa's burner phone: he planted his own evidence so that the police would take notice. Dongsik himself has figured this out, even if he didn't know or understand why Joowon suddenly chose to follow his lead.
What Joowon did in planting Yoon Mihye's death certificate and the fishing line used in Kang Jinmook's suicide in Nam Sangbae's vault is the same tactical strategy Dongsik did.
Dongsik knew that even if he did call to report on his discovery of Minjeong's fingers in the Kang basement, all it would lead to is a possible indictment of Minjeong's mutilation, but not necessarily her disappearance and death (since he has no evidence to support otherwise). Dongsik would have no way of proving that Jinmook killed her—or all the other women whose bodies still haven't been found, including his own sister.
Similarly, Joowon planted the fake "evidence" in Nam Sangbae's vault because he has no way of reporting that Sangbae has been stalking Jaeyi in Busan without endangering her (because at this point he has no clear idea what Sangbae's intentions are in tailing her); while at the same time he has no other way of trying to find out Jaeyi's intentions without alerting Sangbae to her whereabouts, which is exactly why he also blackmailed her with the dashboard camera footage.
Joowon, with his intellect, used these strategies knowing that neither Sangbae nor Jaeyi will be indicted for it. He knowingly planted the evidence because he knew that with the video footage of multiple people going into Sangbae's office, Sangbae won't be indicted for it. He knew that Sangbae would still be safe and will very likely be released. And he knew that Jaeyi won't be indicted either, despite the dashcam footage, if it's true that she had nothing to do with Jinmook's death.
Joowon is smart, and he isn't cruel. In both Jaeyi's and Sangbae's cases, he knew that the evidences he "manufactured" won't be enough to indict them. He just did all these to push things forward and set the ball rolling for the police to take notice—exactly like Dongsik did with Kang Minjeong's fingers and Lee Geumhwa's phone.
And exactly what Hyeok, in Joowon's understanding, told him to do.
Similarly, during the meal Joowon shared with Dongsik after Joowon confessed his father's crimes, Dongsik told Joowon this:
"About that recording, I saved the file using different methods. So that if you get out of my sight, I can spread it right away."
What Dongsik meant about this is that he was worried for Joowon's safety, especially because what Joowon just vowed to do—bring his own father down—would likely bring Joowon into the line of fire too.
But Dongsik never wanted that. Which is why what he meant by threatening to expose the file if Joowon disappears is that he actually would be willing to give up the chance to indict Han Kihwan for his sister's murder if it meant Joowon would be safe. If it meant, in releasing the illegally recorded evidence, that Joowon can come back to him safe and sound.
This actually speaks volumes about how Dongsik has come to truly care for Joowon because he is, in essence, going against everything he has ever said to Lee Sangyeob, once upon a time: No citizen shall be placed in double jeopardy.
Dongsik knew that in releasing the illegally recorded file, without the pertinent evidence to back it up, would erase the chance for Han Kihwan to be indicted if he's released due to lack of evidence. Yet despite fighting all his life to find his sister's murderer, he's actually willing to forego the chance to finally indict Han Kihwan if it meant Joowon would be safe.
(It's partly the reason too why he refused to hand over the recording to Jihwa when she asked for it, because Dongsik has to make sure he has that ace up his sleeve so that if necessary, he can also protect Joowon with it.)
Joowon, however, once again interpreted it wrongly. It's because he's the son of the murderer of Dongsik's sister, because he had just vowed to bring his own father down, and because of his own rigid moral compass that he holds everyone up to, including himself—
It absolutely does not compute in Joowon's mind that Dongsik would be doing this for his safety—that Dongsik was worried for him.
Instead, he hears it for the threat he believes it is: If you disappear and don't follow through with your promise to bring Han Kihwan to justice, I will release this recording even if it meant it will destroy your life too.
And it's not even that Joowon cares about ruining his own life—he makes it very clear that he doesn't—but that he's determined to prove to Dongsik that his vow wasn't an empty one and that he would see through it no matter what.
Which is again, exactly what Joowon proves, over and over again, until the end when Joowon, while calmly aiming a gun at his own father, asks Dongsik himself to finally handcuff Han Kihwan after 21 long years.
What I'm trying to say in pointing out both scenarios with Hyeok and Dongsik is: Joowon listens. He actually follows what is said to him, especially by people whom he has a great deal of respect and care for.
He just couldn't interpret any of it as people caring for him, because he grew up in an environment where people didn't care for him, where the very people who should have cared for him the most either sent him away (his father) or abandoned him (his mother).
(Hyeok, the only one who has ever stayed, was initially paid to be there. It had never occurred to Joowon that Hyeok would eventually still choose to stay for him.)
The idea that someone worries about him is unknown to him, heartbreakingly so, which is why he couldn't interpret it that way.
And I think, if we keep this in mind when we reevaluate his actions again when we (inevitably) watch the show again, it'll go a long way in understanding Joowon a little more than just being the two-dimensional arrogant little prick that he was initially set up to be.
He is so, so much more than that.

plus sized reader/ren or strade? :3
i mean any of my mc fics could be interpreted with a plus-size reader (as a fat bitch) buttt let's go with some headcanons!
ren 🦊
chubby chaser. fr.
like i'm sorry i 100% believe that ren loves fat bitches, women people more than like any other body demographic
apart from being cum-brained and not being able to see you as anything other than a porn category (at least to begin with), he'd also be your biggest hype man in the world
mostly because he wants to see you dress slutty. short skirts, thigh highs, crop tops. he's all about that
he's also definitely a "thick thighs save lives", "mommy milkers" kind of guy. unfortunately.
i wish that making ren rancid would make him less hot but. alas.
wouldn't necessarily verge into feeder territory (which isn't for me lol), but he likes to cook and would play provider in that way ^_^
with a chubby masc mc, he definitely likes that too. he's more attracted to femininity, yeah, but he likes big boys! strong, big, cozy………..
and you know he's pretty little…short and slender…and you're so big and warm and and and…
:)
law🥀
law would also like a chubby partner :)
they'd like the contrast between them (willowy and skinny and tall) and a chubby mc (especially if they were shorter than them too)
other than that, they're just. normal and not insane.
totally normal and uncomplicated reasons to like a bigger partner.
sorry insane people. law is normal <3
strade 🔨
fat bitch 4 fat bitch
i mean strade doesn't really care, he likes who he likes
but he's a red-blooded cis bisexual man. he likes a big chest, big ass, big hips because he HAS TASTE
you're getting that bed rocking either way. just don't break those slats (...which. i haven't done. ever.)
strade isn't much of a cook, so you'd be doing that. hope you like doing that! (i do. often. let me be your housewife. ahem)
i wrote this lmao
and hey, you have some cushion (for pushin'), so you can definitely take a few more hits, punches, and kicks than most, riiiiight?
and he's strong enough to lug you around, anyway, so it's all good for him. he wins every time ^_^
and he doesn't mind stretchmarks either. likes em, in fact! (and will welcome any opportunity to add to them too :3)

i had an idea but i don't feel like writing exploratory surgery on it right now, so here's this little headcannon post about travis seeing sal without his mask for the first time. yes i know i wrote a fic about travis seeing sal without his mask for the first time already ignore that
i don't think he's ever tried to take sal's mask off, and i think that in a weird way, due to the large number of extremely complex feelings travis has about sal, if someone were to ever take sal's mask off, or tried to do that to him, travis would try to defend sal from that person to the best of his ability. in his mind, as much as sal is a freak and he hates him, trying to take off sal's mask is going too far.
i like to think he saw sal's face the first time by accident in some form or another, whether it's like my fic 'death lingering' or some other scenario. in a completely autistic move fueled by his desire to stick to the rules he's familiar with, and his fear of change, and also his urge to (for lack of a better term) respect sal after sal showed him so much kindness, travis looks away from sal's face, because he knows he's not 'supposed' to look at it. he feels weird looking at it when he knows sal doesn't want anyone to see that, like how men generally aren't supposed to look at muslim women out of their hijab. it's disrespectful, and travis feels like he's violating sal in some way, so he covers his eyes.
obviously, sal does not get the memo on this and immediately assumes that travis isn't looking at him because he think sal is too horrible to look at, and wow does that make him feel really fucking bad after trying so hard to become travis's friend. and that's on top of already being on the verge of a panic attack because of whatever scenario had his mask coming off in front of someone who isn't larry.
sal starts freaking out even more, but travis assumes it's because he's scared that travis saw his face, so he says "i didn't see anything, i swear!" it's not necessarily true, but he's saying it to make sal feel better. after travis says it a couple of times, sal starts realizing that travis isn't looking, not because he thinks sal is ugly, but because he cares, he knows that sal doesn't want people to see his face, and that's why he's looking away. it completely changes sal's perspective on things.
after that, travis doesn't really know what to do. they're both somewhat frozen in this situation, with travis having his hands over his eyes. travis isn't very good at comforting people or anything like that, so he decides it's probably just better if he doesn't talk, and sal is a bit shocked and trying to compose himself, so he's not really talking either. it's very awkward.
after a bit, sal is somewhat more composed, and he thanks travis for not looking.
i like to think in some experimental act of attempting things he's seen on TV/read in books, travis blindly tries to reach out and put a hand on sal's shoulder, with his eyes closed, and no idea where sal actually is in relation to him. he ends up touching sal's face once or twice before landing his hand on sal's head, and sal kindly moves travis's hand down to his shoulder while travis gives a very comforting autism grimace. at the very least it makes sal laugh a little, which kind of makes travis want to die but like whatever it's fine. travis has constructed an intricate ritual to touch the skin of another guy so who's the real winner here.
