Alright, so I will test it I will just ramble on sometimes in regards to my guy. Like actually talking about his writing in the game. I probably won't offer anything new to the table, I will not gurantee that. And I probably can't add much to a conversation because honestly, everything has already been said. Probably.

If you have your own thoughts, feel free to add them in some way. This is just me talking about whatever comes randomly into my mind in regards to Akechi.

These also aren't fully analysis pieces so don't expect direct quoting or sourcing. Literally just stuff coming randomly in my mind and I typed on as I went. Told y'all you wouldn't be safe from my rambles either /lh

Seeing Akechi in the state he is in is rather devastating. Always putting on a façade to be liked by those around him, by society nonetheless. And yet, even with all that acknowledgement no one really loves him for being ‘Goro Akechi’ but for his role as the Detective Prince. It is not the type of validation he probably wanted, even if he tells himself that. Make himself desirable yet that is still not himself. That is just an act.

Throughout the game you can see that he yearns for someone to see him as ‘Goro Akechi’, that's how I like to see the relationship between him and Joker anyways. 

The reason Joker is so important to Akechi is because technically Joker is the first one who gets to see beneath this façade. It is not the ‘Detective Prince’ he bonds with but with Goro Akechi instead. A genuine bond, that is what he cherishes.  Being himself with someone is what he needs, what he wants. I can even see him wanting to be actual friends with Joker yet given their conflict that is not possible – If Akechi wants revenge, he needs to kill Joker. There is no way around it, especially not with how they were set up against another by Yaldabaoth. Having someone who takes him seriously, Goro Akechi, probably means more to him than he likes to admit. But it is simply impossible. It is too late.

Honestly, I’d never try to undermine that relationship. I will always agree that Akechi holds Joker in a special light. You can clearly see the desperate attempt of having a connection but realizing that it cannot be done. 

And Joker cherishes it just as much. It is beyond ‘not hating Akechi’ but wanting to build a genuine friendship. That had always been the goal. I mean, even at the end of 3rd Semester Joker asks “What about Akechi?” and is visibly devastated to hear that he is gone. There is certainly a deep connection going on, no matter how you look at it.

It is bittersweet honestly. I am happy to see that there is a mutual desire for a genuine connection. However, that was not what was intended or had ever been intended. It is rather tragic honestly, knowing that this connection was never meant to form. Thinking about it that way does hurt me. It is truly painful. Having some time they enjoy together, only to have it ripped away, reminded that it was only temporary.

Again, the deep connection is evident. And one would be a fool not to notice that. One can mean a lot to someone for several reasons. Joker has impacted Akechi, clearly. And it is a type of relationship no one could ever replace for either of the two. I do find it fascinating, I won't deny that. These two clearly mean a lot to another.

Though I see it as purely platonic. I don't have a word for it but kind of like brothers or something? That's not exactly it either but the closest. Essentially though one cannot deny how important this bond is for both, though especially from Akechi's perspective. Platonic relationships can also be very meaningful. It is unique between them, and they are very close in their own way, even though they shouldn't be.

TL:DR, No one misinterprets Haru Okumura like I do.

So as I'm pretty vocal about, I wrote an Okumura rewrite story, not my usual cup of tea as outside of very select things, I love p5 and think it told it's story the way atlus wanted to and in an entertaining way.

I find the lack of a certain troupe in Hawaii to be a little sad, Third sem had potential but lost me because I'm a horrible person, but Okumura's palace is the one part where I can firmly say, I hate the writing.

Third act conflict that goes nowhere (and doesn't get resolved for real), victim blaming as far as the pts go with Ryuji, over blowing what Morgana and Ryuji did to epic proportions, Ryuji's Character being noticeably lazier, meaner, and just more... shallow? All of it annoys me, but the words offender is still Haru Okumura.

Outside of Strikers and Dancing, we knew nothing of this girl.

Her confidant is more about her business than her, she's barely a focus, her extra dates provide little info, even her jazz jin convos are very surface level.

As to how this relates to my rewrite, because I wanted to give Haru a spotlight since I wanted to get to know her better, I watched her dancing SL, played her SL and romance in Royal, and replayed the mariko arc in Strikers as well as consuming as much of the Okumura arc itself as I could.

However in the interest of keeping the story fresh, fun, interesting, I accidentally created a Haru almost indistinguishable from canon, but that basically no one else gets.

I love Haru, there's so much about her that's interesting and cool, I wanna talk about her more, she's always bouncing around in my head, just not as much as a certain someone.

ahhh i have mulled over how to answer this so much but i am just going to try. insert [orv-style monologue about about how even though no meaning will ever be translated completely from one person to another we still have to try] here

so i have not played deltarune yet, but to the best of my knowledge, kris, the protagonist, is a separate entity from the player. in additional, they are also aware they are being controlled.

i thought this would be an interesting thing to touch on in p5r, especially with the focus on control and power in the story. from corrupt teachers and government officials, to gods, to school counselors, there is a focus on choice/action being taken away and the characters rebelling against it.

i think it would be really interesting for akira to be somewhat aware there is something going on behind the scenes. especially with him thinking that shido is behind it, and then thinking its actually yaldaboath. think periodically having an "im being watched...." thought bubble pop up or a "something's wrong" as you play the game, and thinking its igor, or shido's goons. and he isnt wrong, but that feeling not going even when yaldaboth is defeated. and then maruki changed everything, so it must be his fault, right....?

and then another "i'm being watched" pop up, but. akira turns to face the screen:

from here, dialogue options not popping up, like he's refusing to speak. the name you chose glitching, like he's trying to remember who he was before he transferred...

in the end, i think it would be interesting to end the game on having to let go of playing akira; a prompting for the player to take hold of their own life. you helped akira and the phantom thieves, and they're grateful, but it's time for everyone to go their separate ways.

its literally all good my older sibling also didnt ship akeshu until later on and they introduced me to p5. they also didnt like akechi at first. thankfully by the time i played the game they liked akechi and akeshu bc i was insane about both from the beginning lol. what can i say i like rivals. also i was playing p5r so there was More of them
