P5 spoilers ahead!

Yaldabaoth and his enshittification of the Velvet Room are fucking brilliant and I genuinely adore how that plot beat was executed. For those who have played Persona games before, "Igor" is IMMEDIATELY a red flag, and you spend a long time searching for why he has a different voice, why he feels uncanny. The twist is suspenseful. For those who are introduced to Persona through P5, this is one of the best unforeseen beats in the game. The twist is shocking in an earned manner.

Riya.... I am not even a fan of p5. I have never even played the game. and I am Sick of that ugly bitch's stupid mug. I mean no offense to the fans but I very much relate to not fucking getting the appeal of akechi p5.

If no one got me I know DJ got me…. Maybe it’s because I only played base p5 and not royal but like. He didn’t really do anything?? He shows up in the beginning then pretends to be your friend at the end for a bit then betrays you. But like you don’t interact with him at all between that. And this is a 200+ hour game, by the time he shows back up you’ve forgot about him. He’s not like some clever genius either, the phantom theives control his actions pretty much since he first meets them.

He has an interesting backstory but like in the grand scheme of things it’s not any more or less interesting than the other characters’. It’s also not really that explored, most popular analysis is at least partially supplemented with fanon. It’s also not like the game starves you for other romantic interests. If you want an in-game canon one there’s plenty, and if you need your yaoi fix there’s also some very good options. He’s not bad he’s just… kind of bland to me. I see why people might like him but personally I don’t get the hype.

i really did not expect myself to become an akechi fan cuz even though i could tell he was hiding something, i thought his facade in the base game was kinda boring and tryhard (though conceptually i respected what was happening). but he's so great in the royal bonus semester cuz we've gone through all the plot twists and he can go full mask off and just be a huge bitch all the time. especially with his english VA finding his stride and giving us extra asshole edgelord, it really does bring a little something new to the game. i'll even forgive how stupid his metaverse outfit looks bc you can think of it as a reflection of his arrested emotional development

1. Akira/Persona 5 protags awakening

2. The true ending for base game Persona 5 ((I cried like a baby))

3. "That was truly cringeworthy."

4. Makoto/Persona 3 protags "awakening" in p3 reload

5. The entire Maruki fight for P5 royal
