Hate comments on fics

So today I received my very first hate comment on a fic. I'm so angry. I'm angry because it wasn't a concrit that I didn't ask for, I'm angry because I wrote a non-magical AU about HIV positive characters for the 25 days of Drarry and developed a 50k plot about managing illness and falling in love and finding acceptance from a lovely queer community and the motherfucker of the anonymous commenter said:

"This is disgusting."

I will tell you what is disgusting: YOUR FUCKING PREJUDICE IS DISGUSTING! Your bigotry is disgusting, your lack of empathy is disgusting, your balls to come to a fic that is tagged with HIV+ warning and saying it to my face is disgusting. The fact that you did not use your account to comment is disgusting.

Prejudice is what keep marginalizing people who are HIV positive, so people like this bloody anonymous commenter are the ones who keep spatting a fuck ton of hate speech and wrong information and lack of love towards folks that are already struggling with their condition.

HIV is not disgusting. It is NEVER disgusting. The amount of myths and misinformation is disgusting. The fact that we are in 2021 and people think badly of HIV positive folk just pains me beyond belief.

I'm really upset and disappointed to know even in our lovely Drarry bubble, that is often very accepting and caring, there are bigoted little shits that think themselves better than others. I know this one person is not representative of our drarry squad. We are much better than this!

I obviously deleted the comment bc I don't want to give space to hate speech in my fic. But I needed to make this post and say that if anyone also thinks HIV is disgusting, please get informed, give yourself time to reflect on this topic, look into information and Check out your myths and deconstruct them.

The only way we can build a better world is doing our part. Our part consists in getting informed, making sure our words are not hurting others, being empathetic and LISTENING to those who don't get their voices heard often.

I'm not going to shut up about giving voice to silenced folk, to marginalized realities, to parts of our queer community that are still kept on the corner of the movement. 1) its not one of my main ships. i dont rlly read fanfic for them but if i see a cute fanart of them ill enjoy it and i think i first started shipping it because of good fanarts for them.

2) i like yuetara because of how similar they are. theyre both women from the water tribe. they both understand the misogyny that they have faced. and they both said f sexism im gonna be a strong woman. i also love the tui and la parallel. moon spirit and ocean spirit parallel COME ON. YUE IS THE MOON. KATARA IS THE MOST POWERFUL WATERBENDER. THEY ARE THE OCEAN AND THE MOON. the push and pull they could give eachother. that dynamic ftw.

3) i guess if i didnt like something about this ship would be the fact that if i read a fic or see a fanart w yuetara then than means in that particular au i wont get any yuekka and yuekka is probably my second favorite ship. but then again if i get yuetara than i could get a plethora of other sokka ships to go with it so my sadness disappears in like two seconds. gosh shipping is hard sometimes until you remember ‘hey i have like fifty different universes in my head. all ur ships can coexist in ur brain olivia’ other than that i really see no downsides to this ship. maybe i wish it had more content. maybe if it had more content id ship it a lot more but its not one of the more popular ships so the content is kinda few n far between on my feed.

1) my boys. my babies. my loves. i watched this show for the first time when it came out on netflix and when it ended i really didnt ship anything other than kataang. i came onto tumblr to find fun atla content and one of the very first things i saw under the atla tag was zukka content. i was like oh? whats this? zukka? interesting... i was intrigued so i found a list of fic recs and i fell in love with the ship. the rest is history. its probably my number one ship because it was my very first ship here and im nostalgic

2) oh boy there is so much i like about this ship. i relate to a shit ton of characters in atla. but sokka and zuko may be the ones i relate to most. i relate to sokka because i tend to feel second best a lot to my friends. i try to stay positive but things rarely go the way i plan or hope for them too and while im happy for my friends and their achievements i oftentimes find myself thinking why cant that be me? and i see this a lot in sokka especially in sokkas master. i dont feel special a lot and idk seeing sokka feel the same way and then realizing he is special kinda helped me realize that im special too. on the flipside i relate to zuko because i have wild anger issues and difficulty dealing w my emotions a lot as well. i get broody and short tempered and insecure very often and i tend to push people away and i refuse to ask for help (the amount of teachers and adults and therapists who have told me its okay to ask for help ur not any weaker because of it is astounding. do i listen to them? .....im working on it.) and i saw a shit ton of this in zuko. book one and two zuko rarely asks for help as seen in the blue spirit and zuko alone and he pushes away uncle so many times and even when the gaang iffers to help him in i think its the chase he tells them to leave. when he finally has his redemption and joins the gaang and lets them kinda become a better person i was so happy. i want that for myself yk. seeing him finally win the agni kai and overcome his family that always told him he was nothing was such a win. my sister and i get along but when we were children we were very much like zuko and azula. it was extremely competitive all the time and there was so much toxicity and sibling drama to a concerning extent. we get along great now which im very happy about but yeah their sibling relationship hit a lil too on the nose for me. seeing as i relate to these character so much and want them ti be happy i want to live vicariously through them so seeing them together is amazing for me to project into them. i love projecting onto fictional characters and with them i can project onto BOTH so its a winwin. plus so many zukka fics are so well written and heartwarming and heartbreaking and emotional and fluffy anf UGH the talent here us astounding.

3) what do i not like about the ship? again the list is long. oops. mainly the toxic shippers. there are so many toxic zukka stans that sometimes make it hard for me to enjoy this ship but hey! thats what the block button is for:) i despise how often people infantilize zuko and completely ruin his character for the sake of making him a soft weak lil boy who needs protecting. thats just not zuko for me. and ive seen many many accounts even state that this kind of portrayal of zuko is rooted in racist stereotypes about asian men (now i am white so i personally have never experiences racism but i feel the need to bring that up because it is wrong and attention needs to be brought to it because a lot of poc fans have criticised this) and the same for sokka. some ppl rlly skew his character and make him a big strong brute and hypermasculine and once again poc fans have said that this take is rooted in racist stereotypes. again! these are just my opinions! this is my favorite ship! but i think its important to acknowledge some of the bad parts of our ships as well and be critical where criticism is needed :))

1) I LOVE MAIKO. “i dont hate you” “i dont hate you too” BRUH. my little heart just burst into flames. im sorry guys but maiko is so cute. they hate everything except eachother. BRUH that is one of the cutest tropes. i shipped them the moment i saw them together onscreen and i was so happy when zukos face lit up in the finale when mai came back.

2) “i hate everything but i have a soft spot for you” TAKE MY MONEY I AM A SUCKER FOR THIS. they are so cute together. like zuko is rarely happy in a majority of atla but mai makes him happy and i- 🥺🥺 HE DESERVES IT. and mai is always so supportive of him. when hes stressing out about the war meeting she tries her best to comfort him. and zuko cares about her too. he may not be the best at showing it but oh my god hes TRYING HIS BEST. i think its a very accurate portrayal of teenage relationships because they arent perfect and they do fight but like,, every teenage relationship does that. and even after everything and how he left her in the fire nation she still had his back at boiling rock. she still risked her life against azula to save his butt.

3) the thing i hate about maiko isnt even about maiko. its about antis who think mai is toxic and that zuko deserves better. that has got to be the worst take ive ever heard. they had a fight in ember island. that is NORMAL. they are teenagers. they are not perfect. but underneath all the rough edges and things they need to work out they still care about eachother so freaking much. i genuinelt believe that neither of them would do anything to intentionally hurt the other and i think thats what matters the most. if anything mai is the best girlfriend in the entire world because zuko fucked up like,, quite a few times. he got rlly jealous and dumped her thru a letter and ppl always say that mai was toxic for being mad at him for those two things. umm she had every right to be mad at him for both of those. and while zuko is allowed to feel his emotions and be angry sometimes as well sometimes he needs to think things thru and realize that hey maybe some if this jealousy is unfounded. BUT EVEN THEN. HE RESPECTED HER FEELINGS AND DIDNT TOUCH HER WHEN SHE SAID DONT TOUCH ME. HE RESPECTED HER. so i hate toxic maiko takes because they are literally so wrong in my opinion.

I remember when I got into this fandom (aka half a year ago) I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of R+ material. Still am. There are live recordings for almost every show! You could watch 500 lives and still not be done with it!!

Ok so besides all the materials on their channel and all the dvd lives they released (it’s really easy to find and download them, really) you have this really nice masterpost of earlyish and relevant performances. SEID BEREIT, Amadeus83 and Amadeus 84 are also included in said list but they have tons of videos so check them out.

And these are all things from my watch later list (either for watching later or just for storing): Rammstuga (has also some bloopers and funny moments - tho let’s be honest, with Rammstein everything is funny… when it’s not kinky, at least), Bucksttabu (lives and a bunch of demos from which I really have to point out Schwarzes Glas and Panterra aka Pussy meets Gib mir deine Augen just because I want and can - and love them), Doktor Flake (some early lives and interviews), MrOtto1939, MrRammstein1966, Ashot M. RAMMSTEIN-ARMENIA, Rammsteinfans Germany(with theBizarre Festival in 1996because I really love Laichzeit and some interviews as well), RammWiki (early stuff + some pre-Rammstein), another Bizzare Festival but this time from 1997,that really nice VIVA JAM Interview from 1997(that sometimes disappears from the face of YT? I this still a problem?)… hmmm i don’t know ab OuT tHa Aa at….,,,.. not L iK e a bAnANa…???.?

The only reason I have interviews up there is because the channels I listed happened to also have some interviews. To be honest I haven’t watch that many, for some reason… I can probably count them on one hand?

I ugh…. at one point, I had this wet dream of listing ALL their live performances with youtube links to ALL of them but… I could probably be quarantined for 3 more years and still not be done with it (is there something like this? did someone already do it? First and foremost, I’ll always put FeatheredShadow (also on tumblr I’m so sorry I don’t know your name >.Arrestzelle (aka Brig) at the top of the list. Always.

I made a few weeks ago some lists with fanfiction I abolutely love and adore (be it smutty or not), wierd, unusual and fucked up fics and niche/rare fics. Basically read everything from the R+ fic tag and you should be good. Oh and you also have this list (which is not mine).

Obviously in the meantime I discovered some more gems but I don’t know if I should edit the original posts to add the fics ontheir proper (top) place, reblog the post with the new additions or makean entierly different post. I just started delving into DeviantArt but I’m at the beginning and I still have LiveJournal and fanficion dot net to go.

Anyway, I really have to mention these:

Hol mich ins Sternenreich by RomanKerze – Till/Richard, Till/Schneider, Richard/Paul and Richard/Schneider; puppy play, no smut, sub!Till and Richard, excelent, 12/10 would recommend again.

Mit Dir Bin Ich Auch Allein by struwwel– Till/Richard, romance, slow burn, hurt/comfort, gonna destroy your heart and all your feelings… it’s awesome. The characters are so well written and usHNSfejicfs everything is perfect.

I really have no words to describe how much i love these 2 fics I could praise them a whole day and still not be done with it (I want to read them again T_T). And while you are busy with these, I’ll go and add to the list the other fanfics I found (this is already too long).

It's about an hour later after me and Duff had the conversation in the bathroom. Duff ordered the Chinese food so now we're eating it and watching some stupid movie on TV. I sigh, looking at the clock. It's only one in the morning. Fuck, how am I gonna make it home before my parents notice I'm gone? There's only one obvious answer. I can't. Unless I know for a fact that Hyde won't rat me out for being a minor in a bar, I'm stuck here with the blonde I barely know.

And where the hell is Madeline?

"What's goin' through your head?" Duff asks, breaking me from my thoughts.

I look over at him, then back down at my container of sweet n' sour chicken. "How do you know I'm thinking anything? I could just be enjoying my food."

Duff laughs, setting his container on the coffee table. "You have to be thinking of something. I doubt you're just sitting there not having one thought. That's, like, impossible."

I sigh, laughing a bit. He had me there. "You got me." I set my container on the table as well, losing my appetite almost completely. "I-uh-was just thinking about how I'm going to get home before my parents notice that I'm missing. They'll go bonkers if I'm not in my bed in the morning."

"You could just call them and tell them Madeline had an emergency so the both of you went to her place."

I smile at him. He has this hopeful look in his eyes as if he really wants to help. God he's so adorable.

I mentally groan at that thought. I just met the dude! Get that shit out of your head.

"You came up with that pretty quick."

He smiles, puffing out his chest. "I am the king of excuses," He says proudly.

I giggle, rolling my eyes. Damn, I haven't laughed and smiled this much since before Tommy left. "I'll call you up next time I need help with that."

"So, you still live with your parents, huh?"

"What do you mean still? I am only sixteen, y'know?" Did he seriously forget I told him how old I was not even a few hours ago.

Duff's eyes widen. "There's no fucking way."

"What's that supposed to mean?" I narrow my eyes at him.

"I just mean, you act older. I would've thought you were at least eighteen," He explains, taking a swig from the beer that was sitting on the table.

I really hope that's a new one and not a bottle that has just been sitting there for days. It's obvious he doesn't clean often. I cringe watching him drink it.

"What?" He asks. He looks genuinely confused as to why I was looking at him like I am.

I almost laugh at his look. I, however, manage to keep a straight face. "Please tell me it's a new bottle."

Duff looks down at his drink, laughing as he fully processes my statement. "Oh my God, Henley. You're seriously worrying about how old my drink is?"

I shrug, looking down. I feel my cheeks heat up with embarrassment. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything.

Duff's laughter dies down after I stay quiet for a while. I know it's stupid to feel embarrassed like I am, but I can't help it. I don't like it when people laugh at me.

"Henley," Duff says, his laughter still working it's way out of his system. I don't say anything. "Hey," Duff says, his voice quiet and soft. I look up at him, shocked at how his voice changed in a second. "Did I say something wrong?"

I feel my heart drop. He thinks he did something wrong. In reality, I'm just an oversensitive ass. It's amazing how my "Bad ass aura"-as Madeline would call it-disappears as soon as I'm alone with someone I'm comfortable with. I become overly sensitive with everything. I'm like that with Athena, Tommy, and Madeline. And now, apparently, Duff. Fuck, he's broken down the walls I put up within just a few hours. What the hell is wrong with me?

"No," I say, shaking my head. "I'm sorry. I'm just sensitive sometimes."

Duff's face is once again full of disbelief. Damn, do I really surprise him that much?

"What?" I ask, feeling shy with his eyes on me.

He just shrugs, shaking his head. "I just find it hard to believe that the Henley is sensitive. You're one badass chick."

I laugh at his use of the word 'chick'. "You say that as if I'm some notorious girl that has a reputation."

"You kinda do," Duff responds. I furrow my eyebrows. What the hell is that supposed to mean? "Anyways, you never answered my original question."

"Huh?" Then it clicks in my brain. I never did answer his question. Fuck, I don't remember what it was.

"Uhm, what was it again?"

"What were you thinking about before we started this odd conversation," Duff laughs.

"Oh, right," I respond, looking at the TV for a moment. I turn my head to Duff, feeling a smile spread onto my lips. He's so fucking cute. His smile is absolutely adorable. It's different than other people's. I can't really explain it. He's different than other guys I've met. Yes, he did try to kiss me, but he backed off as soon as I pushed him away. He didn't try anything else and he's kept his distance. "I was just thinking about Madeline. Will she be alright with Steven?"

"I'm sure she'll be fine," Duff answers, taking a swig from that same bottle. "She's a big girl. She can handle herself."

I sigh, leaning back against the couch cushions. "I know, it's just that she tends to not think things through. She gets herself into a shit ton of trouble all because she can't keep her mouth shut."

Duff laughs. "Sounds like someone else I know."

I blush, looking down at my lap. God, his laugh is like music to me. "I usually do a good job at shutting up. I was just a bit tipsy. If I get any amount of alcohol in my system, I can't shut up." The fight definitely sobered me up quick.

"Looks like I'll just have to keep my eye on you from now on," Duff says, nudging my thigh with his foot.

I laugh, looking back up at him. "You think we're still going to hang out after all this?"

"Of course we are. You're stuck with me now," Duff answers, giving me a heart melting smile. Fuck me, he's too good at making me feel.

"You say that like it's a bad thing," I say, deciding to be a little flirty. What could it hurt?

Duff shakes his head, running a hand through his gorgeous blonde hair. "It can be sometimes."

"I can't see how. From what I've seen of you since I met you, you're one awesome person to be around. Steven seems pretty cool too," I say, grinning at him.

"Yeah he is, but I can be-."

He's cut off by a sharp knocking at the front door. Duff groans, reluctantly getting off of the couch. He walks over to the door, opening it with a certain amount of sass. I giggle at him as he places his hand on his hip, jutting his hip out like a girl would. He looks back at me and winks. He's such a dork.

All of a sudden a ball of blonde hair pushes past Duff, toting a smaller dark haired person behind him. I grin as Madeline nearly falls from how Steven is pulling her.

"Stevie slow down!" Madeline yells, looking disheveled.

I take it those two had one hell of a night.

Steven laughs, pulling her into his arms. He kisses the top of her head. She grins, wrapping her arms around his waist. I smile at them. They really like each other. I guess I will be seeing more of Duff after all since Madeline will probably be hanging around Steven a lot.

"Aren't you two just adorable," Duff teases, sitting down next to me again. He's closer to me this time.

Just scoot over a little bit more.

I shake my head, trying to clear that thought from my mind. I focus my attention on the new couple in front of me.

Steven flips Duff off, giving one of his signature Steven smiles. "We're heading to bed."

Madeline and Stevie walk down the hallway without another word. "Don't have too much fun, kids!" Duff yells at them.

He's answered with a door slamming.

I giggle. "So I take it you and Steven live together?"

Duff lets out a mock sad sigh. "Yeah. He's such a pain in the ass."

I shake my head, laughing slightly. I yawn, looking at the clock again. Two o'clock in the morning.

"You tired?" Duff asks.

I try to shake my head 'no', but then my body decides to let out another yawn.

"I'll take that as a yes," He laughs, standing up. "Come on."

I get up, walking behind him. I'm way too tired to argue. Duff leads me into a bare room. The most he has is more records and a mattress laying in the floor. Duff walks over to the dresser that I somehow didn't notice, and pulls out some boxers and a shirt. He hands it to me.

"Here," He says. "I'm sure you don't wanna sleep in those clothes."

I smile, looking down at my feet. "Thank you." I walk over to the bed. "Could you at least turn around?" I turn to see a blushing Duff.

"O-Oh, yeah, right," He says rather flustered. He turns around, his head bent down.

I giggle, then change as fast as I can. "Alright, I'm done."

Duff turns around, a smile on his face. "Okay, well, I'll be on the couch if you need me."

"What? No," I say. "This is your bed. I can sleep on the couch."

Duff rubs his eyes. "I'm too tired too argue. Can we just share the bed? If that's okay with you?"

I nod, already climbing under the covers. I turn to face the wall. I feel the bed dip beside me as Duff gets in.

"Goodnight, Henley," He says almost in a whisper.

"Night Duff."

They don’t talk about it, and usually no one thinks to ask. But if you did, Namjoon and Seokjin would tell. They aren’t keeping secrets, and if you asked them, they’d answer. It just so happens that on a Sunday, not much different from any other Sunday, the other boys think to ask.

So how do two people who are always together end up… together?

two things: 1) this fic is part of a larger series, but I have not read the other parts 2) you do need an ao3 account to read this fic.

besides that, this fic is so beautiful and holds an extra special place in my heart. this fic isn’t really about Jin and Namjoon, it’s more about everything else surrounding their romantic relationship; their friendship, their internal struggles, the other impactful people in their lives. it’s about their personal journeys, but the fic is also a platform to discuss some really important issues in a very thoughtful way. I’m not sure how to explain it well, but even though this fic is really sad at times, the parts that made me cry were the hopeful ones, the parts that made me feel like everything was going to be okay.

I Don't Regret a Thing by  HeavenlyHell [Yoonseok]

Hoseok is a host working in a shadier part of town, living in a small apartment complex just away from the main and busy buzz of the big city. All he really was planning to do was get some gross food and continue his gross life, but he also manages to spot a very gross (and bloody, which is gross) body on the ground. Except, the body is alive, and upon closer inspection, isn't as gross as it seems.

this fic is actually kind of funny and cute. if you want something lighter (especially compared to the previous two) this is a good option. also I want Yoongi’s hair.

Creating a Home by CheekyBrunette [Namjin]

Foster Care AU- it’s literally the softest, cutest, sweetest thing you will ever read oh my god I love kid fics so much they’re so cute. this one actually deals with some heavy stuff since it’s the foster care system, and so there’s tough situations that put them in the system, but many of the kids also find new difficulties once they’re in the system. but seriously, nothing will make your heart suffer more than little kid bangtan. btw, Namjin are the parents. IT’S SO FLUFFY. like, even when Jin is losing his mind and it feels like shit is falling apart, it is immediately fluffy after.

On Patrol by  Ragi [Jikook/Yoonseok/Namjin]

Officer Jeon has his eyes on Mr. Adorable.

Officer Min has a strange neighbor he can't seem to keep out of his life.

Captain Kim finds comfort in his son's homeroom teacher.

that’s the summary for part 1, but it’s actually a two-part series. the summary makes it sound super fluffy, but there’s actually a fair amount of violence and angst. it’s all happy in the end though, don’t worry. (I basically only read fics with happy endings) also, kid Tae is so cuteee.

I don’t know how to effectively describe how much I love this fic, but I love this fic so damn much. it’s just so well written and funny and genuine and it’s really honest and nice and it makes me happy

mate let me tell you, this is the slowest fucking slowburn you will ever read in the history or slowburn. every other fic on this list is complete except for this one, but even though this one is still in progress, it’s so fucking good that it’s definitely worth the wait. I have not felt excitement equivalent to that when I saw that this fic was updated recently. even though it’s still in progress, this is one of my all time favorites

"Are you stalking me, or something?" Hoseok demands, more than loud enough for his voice to carry to the roof of the two-story building overhead. "This is seriously the fourth time I've seen you today alone! What is your deal? Why are you always everywhere I go lately?"

The man in the red and blue suit peeks down at Hoseok from the rooftop ledge. "...I thought I was being stealthy," he answers, and Hoseok can hear the pout in his voice even with his face hidden behind that mask. It's kind of endearing, even if it's still annoying.

He followed the sound, turning his head to the right. A guy was standing there, arms crossed, lips pursed. He let out another huff, louder this time, but only slightly.

Namjoon refused to acknowledge him. What the fuck was this guy’s deal? Was he really that bitter that his six-year-old just lost a soccer game for six-year-olds?

One more huff from the guy.

He was beginning to think this guy’s lips were just perpetually pursed and would simply never, ever unpurse themselves, when he, the guy, finally unpursed his lips to speak.

this one of the few cisgirl!bangtan fics that I like (even though Jimin’s not technically a girl). often the whole “bangtan as girls au” thing feels kind of forced, but here Jimin’s gender thing is actually constructive to the fic rather than distracting. it’s really cute and jikook are a whole mess but it’s fine

hounds of love by fitzgarbage [Namjin]

Seokjin hasn't been back in a long time.

it’s kind of melancholy but it’s really well written. the last tag is “some characters are sad”. yeah. a large part of this fic is about growth and self discovery and I think that’s really why I like it.

“Namjoon told me you’d probably be haunting a corner. I didn’t know what he meant, but I think I get it now.” He’s breathing hard. “I knew you right away. You look really good, by the way.”

I just have a lot of things to say about this fic. there are some fics that aren’t just enjoyable to read, they’re also important to read. that’s this. fair warning, you’re going to want to wrap everyone in blankets and protect them from the world forever after you’re done reading this.

Oops... @ardenskyedarcy221b tagged me in this days ago and I’m just now getting around to it, sorry

1.     How long have you been writing fanfic? Okay so technically I wrote my first fics in 2012, I wrote one in 8th grade and one freshman year. But then I stopped writing at all until January of this year when I actually started writing (somewhat) consistently. So I’m gonna say January because those first ones...should not count.

2.      Who most influences your writing style? tbh I have no idea. I don’t even really know what my writing style is. If one of you has an opinion on that and could tell me I’d appreciate it. I tend to write for dialogue and the rest shapes around it, idk if that’s helpful

3.      Favorite type of scene to write? I’m not sure if you can tell from my stories but I love heart-to-hearts. fuck man just let them talk it out, that’s all I ever want. Give me emotional vulnerability and good communication and I’ll be a happy, happy woman.

4.      What trope is your favorite to write and/or read? I guess my favorite trope to write is Peter meeting people??? Only because I’ve done it so much lol. As for reading, I am a big fan of platonic cuddles and any story of IronDad from an outside perspective. Also outside of specifically IronDad I am always a slut for soulmate!aus and magic realism (shout out to The_Blonde lol).

5.      What is one trope that you dislike? Listen. I know this fandom love whump. But. For me. I’d rather not. I will tolerate it if there it doesn’t take up that much of the fic, there’s a glorious reunion and a shit-ton of fluff afterward. But don’t give me like 12 chapters of Peter being tortured and Tony feeling Guilty followed by like 4 paragraphs of After. I’m a minor Hurt/all Comfort kinda gal. No judgment to those who love the pain! Just not for me.

6.      What AU do you wish to write but feel like you won’t manage? I swear I really am trying to write a platonic soulmate AU. It’s why I haven’t published anything in forever. I need to get this done before I can move on or else it’s gonna sit in my google docs for the rest of eternity.

7.      Do you outline, or write as you go? hahaha no. I usually just have an idea and let the characters say what they need to say about it. I kind of have an outline for my platonic soulmate AU because it’s going to be longer than I’m used to, but all it consists of is one note on my phone with a 2-10 word summary of the basic idea of each chapter. 

8.      Past tense or present tense? Why? Past, because ?????? idk I think present is easier to maintain (shout out to Iza for calling me out whenever I slip up lmao) but I also think it’s harder to do well ???? or at least for me personally it’s harder to do well. also, you better be the best goddamn writer in the world if you plan on doing first person present tense. that is the easiest thing in the world to do horribly.

9.      Do you prefer to write one-shots or multi-chapters? Why? One-shots that vaguely connect lmao I don’t like the strick structure of chaptered stories but I like having one-shots that happen in the same universe.

10.   What is the kindest comment you’ve received on a fic? (Feel free to paraphrase or generalize!) I don’t think I can pick out one single comment, I feel very fortunate to get the amount of comments that I do, and so many of them are wonderfully kind and thought out. I feel most attached to the dialogue in my stories so whenever someone says that the characters sound right or that their characterization is on point, those comments always make me very happy. And whenever I get a comment from a username I recognize from other fics I get all warm and fuzzy. People like ArdenSkyeHolmes221 or KiwisAndTea or Isi1dur, just to name a few, who I see in the comments of every fic. Just seeing a familiar username is wonderful because it means they’ve stuck around. 

11.   What is the most gratifying aspect of writing fanfic for you? Honestly the creative outlet and the fandom interaction. I’ve always had stories in my head but before fic they just stayed there. I would replay them over and over but now I have a way to get them out and that’s wonderful. And I love the interaction of fic! Before IronDad I was always a passive fandom observer, I’d leave comments on fic and art but I’ve never been a part of a fandom from this side and it’s really lovely!

FIVE THINGS YOU’D FIND IN MY BAG

At least three different notebooks with vary degrees of bullshit in them. Like I have no concept of organization when it comes to my notebooks so some of these probably hold lists on fan fiction and original work, notes on political theory, law school shit and other ridiculous bullshit.

Portable chargers, I have at least two of them because my phone battery is shit and I’m constantly on it so it doesn’t help at all. So yeah, a constant array of portable chargers. I’m pretty the security at work would have a fit if they saw how much wires I have in my bag. I don’t go through security because I have a wonderful thing called employee clearance. Thank you Jesus.

A shit ton of pens. I have at least one ball point pen because I love them, but I also have really shitty drugstore pens that barely work. I need to get rid of them,

A pocket blanket. One of those impossible picnic blankets that can fit in your pocket if you fold it correctly. I generally use it when I’m in St. Jame’s Park and need to just relax and get away from everything.

Oddly enough, I have a voucher for small tattoo for fifty quid or a piercing for £25. I think I picked it up on weekend when I was in Camden and I strongly debated it.

FIVE THINGS IN MY BEDROOM

Multiple fan pillows from Telahmarie on Etsy. I have a Thor, Ninth Doctor and Nightwing one, but I’m about to get a Killian Jones, Darth Vader, Jaime Lannister and Gambit ones when I get back home because I sent them to my parents’ house since I really didn’t feel like paying a huge customs fee. Fuck you United Kingdom and your desire to bleed me of money.

Fairy lights. I’m one of those stereotypical white girl and I have fairy lights hanging above my bed. Plain white, in case you were asking.

I guarantee you that if I looked, I could find at least two portable chargers hiding within the pillows because I’m too lazy to actually plug my phone into the wall.

The most expensive super soft jersey sheets to ever grace the planet because I am super snob when it comes to my sheets, blankets and comforters. Everything needs to be soft. It drives Dan nuts.

Because I’m a fucking nerd, I have Funko Pops of Nine, Jack Harkness, Rose Tyler and the Tardis. My best friend just bought me a Killian one, so he will soon by joining them on my window sill. I also have Nine’s sonic screwer and a mini plastic Yankees cap.

FIVE THINGS I WANT TO DO IN LIFE

Oh man, I want to travel to every single continent. Including Antartica even though I would hate myself because I fucking hate the cold with an intense passion. So far, I’ve only been to North America, Europe and Africa,

Finish law school. That’s more short term, but alas. I want to survive and have a stable to career and to do that I need to start and finish law school.

Get back in high school shape. I used to be able to actually run and wear bathing suits, but I’ve become so fat. Ugh. I really need to work on that. I miss being somewhat thin.

Get back to living in Zone 1 or Zone 2 of London because Zone 3 sucks so bad and I really hate where I live right now. Poor Laura has listened to be bitch for the past week.

Actually publish the huge ass fantasy series that I started to write in college. Rhyanna and Caedon, my original characters, fucking deserve to have their stories finished and published for the amount of shit I put them through.

FIVE THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY

Going for walks around the Thames. It’s full of tourists during the day but quiet and soothing at night. I miss doing that. *sigh*

Facetiming Dan because he’s in Germany and I’m in the UK and I miss his face and he makes me smile and sometimes texting isn’t enough. And no matter what, he always takes my call even if I do call him at like 6 in the morning because I didn’t sleep the night before.

Medium hazelnut iced coffee with skim milk and caramel drizzle on the top. That’s my order whether it be Star Bucks, Costa, Dunkin Donuts or whatever.

The Yankees. I fucking love baseball so much that it sometimes hurts. God, I’m such a sports nerd. For real. Nothing makes me happier than watching the New York Yankees play.

When people leave me feedback for my work. Legit nothing makes me happier than reading shit in the tags. For real, your comments make my day.

FIVE THINGS I’M CURRENTLY INTO

Aaron Judge. I love him and he’s going to do great with the Yanks. I hope he stays with the Yanks his whole career as unlikely as that is. He’s just great. He’s 2-3 years older than me and I call him my son. I’m strange.

Halloumi pitas. I cannot get enough of it. It makes me sad that I no longer have a Real Greek restaurant near me. I love that shit. I know this really weird but it’s such a huge craving I’ve had lately.

Not sleeping. Granted I like almost never sleep on a regular basis but recently my schedule has been more fucked than normal. Like I’ve pulled more all nighters this year than I did in college.

American Gods. I’ve been watching it on a loop. It’s so fascinating and bizarre and every time I watch it again, I pick out new things that I’ve never noticed before.

Aesthetics. I’ve been making them like crazy. They’re kinda relaxing for me to make and of course I keep spamming people with them because I’m that kind of person.

FIVE THINGS ON MY TO-DO LIST

Actually pack my suitcase for the States. Because I’m an asshole and I’ve packed yet.

Clean out my fridge because I’m gonna be gone awhile and I would rather not have rotting food when I come back.

Actually get some fucking writing done in regards to the two requests and two one-shot ideas I have rolling around in my head. And you know, actually start that Labyrinth fic that I’ve been meaning to work on for the last two months but haven’t.

Buy Laura spicy chai tea from the local shops so she can have epic tea when we finally meet *gasp*

Get more than two hours of sleep. Legit.

We got a little bit of baby!kurokens and they were perfect and precious. But Kuroo has clearly grown up now and I’m eager to learn what caused the changes. All the characters so far are written well and Yachi is gonna have a main role, how exciting is that? Please read this and heap a ton of love at it because it deserves all the attention.

I wanna surround him with hugs and Kenmas. He’s also a dense idiot at times and that’s always wonderful. Also great smut so it’s a win all around.

I really like the time period it’s set in and how that’s worked into the story. Kuroo is just the perfect amount of cool and stupid. Kenma is badass and delightful. Lev is precious. The smut is beautiful and perfect.  Easily one of my favorite kuroken stories of all time.

Characterization is great, I’m quite partial to Kenma because he’s such an awesome badass. I love learning more about the characters and delving into their backstories. The smut is wonderful (and plentiful). The action is amazing and there’s never a dull moment.

A lovely getting together story. I’m not usually into canon compliant stories but this is absolutely wonderful. The characterization of everyone is perfect and the kuroken makes my heart ache. Kenma and Kuroo care about each other so much and it seems like they know everything about the other, but they don’t. I love that it reinforces the fact that communication is very important, even if you’ve known someone your entire life there’s still things you can learn about them. However this piece also shows that Kuroo and Kenma do know a great deal about each other and that can be a huge comfort for them, or lead to problems when you wanna go the avoidance route. The pacing is great, even if I just want to smush their lips together, and I thrive off of the conflicts. Also great Nekoma bonds which is a huge plus.

The sequel to the magnificent curiosity kills. This covers Oikawa and Iwaizumi’s side of the story while continuing to grow the kuroken. A lot more characters are added into the mix and the ensemble cast is handled well. The magic and universe is really interesting and it’s developed even more in this story. This piece hits so many emotional notes. Also we get baby!iwaois for a bit and they are precious and perfect.

From the dialogue to the characters to the pacing, everything is lovely. Absolutely read the tags so you know what you’re getting into. The baby!kurokens were super cute. The concept that the story revolves around is very interesting. I really love how the romance developed. This packs quite the emotional punch and honestly I teared up a bit just typing this out. I have no regrets though, and would read this a thousand times over, it’s absolutely beautiful.
