LOUD.
part one two three four five six seven eight nine
“You’ve got something there,” Quin says, gesturing vaguely at his own shoulder.
“I’m aware,” Obi-Wan signs. “It’s some sort of monkey lizard fungus.”
The monkey lizard fungus giggles into his shoulder.
Quin nods grimly. “I heard the only cure is to placate it with sweets and hope for the best.”
Anakin precariously leans over, heels accidentally digging into still bruised ribs.
Obi-Wan bites his lips behind the collar but of course Quin immediately detects his movements turning stiff.
Quin holds out an arm, flexing his bicep with wiggling eyebrows. It has the desired effect and Anakin jumps from Obi-Wan, swinging around the elbow before hooking his knees over Quin’s arm.
“He’s heavier than he looks,” Quin strains out.
They walk to one of the mess halls that’s open around the clock and mainly offers food and beverages to those clinging with teeth to their sanity during exam season.
One of the cramming Padawans looks up from their dozen holo books displaying graphs, and squints at them. “Master Vos, there’s something growing out of your arm?”
“Monkey lizard fungus,” Obi-Wan signs, hiding a smile behind his collar at the Padawan nodding to themselves as if that makes perfect sense.
“What’s with them?” Anakin asks, looking at the sleep deprived tableau and hoisting himself up and swinging one leg over Quin’s shoulder.
“This is your future,” Quin says gravely and Obi-Wan is catapulted to melting stone fire Darkness “You were supposed to be my Master!” yellow familiar eyes from a smoking alive corpse and the grief is ripping him apart “—see once you take your first assignments. The only places you’ll be is either here or the Archives.”
It’s been years since he last had a vision. It’s staggering, his heart thumping in his chest like a clock ticking down the inevitable countdown. But it’s not.
He looks over to Anakin who’s already watching back with wide eyes, the fear in his hands gripping onto Quinlan. “I won’t let it come to that,” he promises, fingers thudding together heavily but he’s still shaking off the vision and Anakin’s fear is a taste in the air by now. He can’t not make promises he only hopes he can keep.
Quinlan is silent during their exchange, gloved hands keeping hold of Anakin. The calculating look in his eyes a guarantee Obi-Wan is going to get cornered later.
.
“Do you like Depa being your Master?”
Let it be said, paranoia is a common infliction amongst Shadows.
“Obi-Wan,” Anakin sighs, voice breaking with puberty and annoyance. “Depa is wizard. She’s amazing even though she’s signed me up to all these classes.”
Obi-Wan looks over all the models, plans, and concepts with added calculations. There’s a data pad displaying language modules and another proclaiming the joys of agriculture. “It’s almost all in the engineering field,” he signs.
“Which makes her so wizard. You’d never have me taking up gardening though,” Anakin adds sullenly.
Don’t yearn for things I cannot give you, Obi-Wan has thought a lot in the past few years as the Galaxy seems to slowly steep in Darkness.
“Knowing what can poison you is important,” he signs, feeling restless and helpless. The mission he’s finished two cycles ago may still reside in his bones.
“I’ll just bite back,” Anakin says, tongue sticking out as he connects wires to ports. He presses a button and the thing he’s been tinkering with since before Obi-Wan left starts to purr smoothly. “Now she can even juice cocadooms,” he says, satisfaction purring just as smoothly in his voice.
“Well done.”
“I know,” Anakin responds airily and swivels around to face Obi-Wan fully. “You’re lurking in the shadows again so let’s get this tradition over with: Depa is an awesome Master and maybe I sometimes wish you’d have chosen me but,” he adds loudly when Obi-Wan lifts his hands to protest, “I also sometimes daydream Master Tiin had chosen me because he’s got his own modded Delta-7.”
The paranoia settles down as Anakin waxes over how wicked the new wing box skins and sensor fusions are, no, truly, you should see them, Obi-Wan!

hiii, i was thinking reader could be vernestra’s current padawan, and when they meet qimir he finds this out. he wants to protect them and train them instead so that they’re safe from vernestra
a new dawn, part one
part two
summary -> you're running from your master, who accused you of turning to the dark side, of failing, when suddenly you bump into a stranger who seems to know your past
content warnings -> canon typical violence
no use of y/n. she/her pronouns
a/n : wait i love this idea omg i have a scenario in mind already...
she rummaged through the crowded market, her heart threatening to jump out of her chest. she knew her master would eventually find her anyways- it was just a matter of time. the pouring rain didn't help, blurring her vision and wetting her robes.
for someone who was force sensitive, it was easy to sense powerful emotions. fear, anger, loss... the extent of them radiating from the small cloaked figure caught qimir's attention. even more so when he saw the lightsaber on her belt.
her chest heavied, as she tried to keep calm. she needed to get as far away as possible from here, now. keeping her head down, she didn't notice a person standing in her way, and she bumped into them.
"oh- sorry! sorry i, uh-"
she fretted, immediately regaining her composure. she took in the man in front on her. black medium-length hair, dark eyes, messy robes...probably a merchant.
"it's alright." he muttered, then tilted his head. "are you...okay?"
she knew it was easy to spot her distress with the way she carried herself, but the question caught her off guard.
"i'm fine. i just- i'm in a hurry."
she replied urgently, wanting to go. her eyes scanned the environment around her.
"you don't look fine." the stranger stated, then his eyes dropped to her belt. he immediately straightened up. "you're a jedi! is someone chasing you? are you on a mission? it must be important! whatever it is i'm sure you could deal with it, but if you seriously need to hide i can-"
he started jabbering, too loud for her liking. but the word 'hide' caught her interest. maybe he could be useful...
"yes, i'm on a mission." she forced the most formal tone she could, trying to hide the desperation. "an important one. and i don't need to hide. i need to get as far away from here as i can. now."
the man seemed excited. "follow me!"
he was quick and swift with moving around the crowd, unlike how he was presenting himself.
"my ship is just minutes away! i can't believe I'm helping a jedi..." he beamed.
she sighed. well, it was certainly a better option that being found by the jedi master that was sent after her, and when he brings her back to master vernestra-
she didn't have time to dwell on that though, as suddenly an invisible force sent her flying. alerted, she immediately grabbed her lightsaber, going in a defensive position. her hands were shaky, and her breath uneven. there was no escape now.
then she saw him- the jedi that was sent to bring her back to vernestra. he called her name, and that alone made her shiver with fear. his next movements were quick. attack, a blow, a kick to the stomach, force push, another blow- and she ended up without her weapon, his lightsaber pointing at her.
"surrender." he demanded, his voice emotionless. "you're going back to the temple. master vernestra wishes to speak with you." no sympathy heard as he spoke. the jedi didn't have sympathy for those who ever dared to question their ways.
and she knew that vernestra wouldn't have it either, even towards her own padawan. she didn't want to think of what is going to happen if the jedi drags her back to her master. she preferred to die here. with some honor left.
"never."
she spat angrily, trying to hide just how terrified she was. the jedi lifted his blade. she shut her eyes, waiting for the final hit.
but it didn't come.
she dared to open her eyes.
and what she saw, froze her in place.
the jedi hung in the air, desperately trying to catch his breath, choking and kicking his legs. then, a crimson blade pierced his chest. she looked, entranced, as his lifeless body fell to her feet.
behind it, stood the man she met on the market, his expression hard. as if he was a completely different person.
he turned off his lightsaber, and his gaze dropped to her, shaken on the muddy ground.
"you're safe now." his voice became softer, when he crouched down in front of her. "i'm not going to let her hurt you."
she looked at him with wide eyes. why would he do that? how did he know about her master?
"who- who are you?"
he tilted his head again.
"i'm qimir."
the simplicity of his answer in such situation baffled her.
"qimir."
she repeated, dumbfounded.
"and you are a jedi, aren't you...?" qimir's voice was almost mocking. "vernestra's padawan. i suppose she saw the 'darkness within you'?" he scoffed.
she furrowed her brows. how could he possibly know that?
"what-? how did you...?"
qimir looked away for a second.
"i suppose that she doesn't talk about her previous pupils... after all, what is there to say if they're dead?"
she hesitated. was she lied to? told that she was her first padawan? master vernestra never mentioned she taught anyone before her...
a hand in front of her chest snapped her back to reality.
"come on, you're going to get soaked. my ship is just right there."
he pointed in the direction of the clearing, and she indeed saw the silver flickering between the trees.
"i don't trust you."
she eyed him up and down. he had a red lightsaber, which could only mean that he was something she never thought she will see. a sith.
"nor should you." he smirked. "but right now, i am your only option."
she chewed on her lip. he was right. if he didn't lie, and he really was vernestra's fallen apprentice... she felt that she needed to know more. she accepted his hand, and he pulled her up to her feet.
she followed qimir to his ship. he was completely unreadable, and she felt so exposed. but at the same time he intrigued her. his power, ability to hide his force signature...
that's what she was looking for. knowledge. knowledge that the jedi said leads to the dark side.
but she was ready to take that step, after everything that happened. and it looked like she had a guide. an anchor.
a promise of a new dawn.
a/n : i actually fw this one heavy lmao

Usually, I like to finish reading a fic before recommending it properly, but I've been sucked into about five different STAR WARS fics recently that I've gotten far enough into that I'm willing to trust my heart to them because they're scratching a very specific itch for me--namely, that I want deeper explorations of both the Jedi Order and of Anakin's character. I want fic to punch me in the feelings over both of these aspects of the story. I want fic to sometimes set Obi-Wan and Anakin aside and focus on Ahsoka for awhile, really tell her story. I want Jedi themes woven into a story. I want an exploration of Anakin's mindset that reminds me of just how much I love him and have sympathy for him. And fandom has delivered for me.
DO YOU WANT FIC TO BLACK OUT TO AND LOSE AN ENTIRE WEEKEND OVER? HAVE I GOT SOME RECS FOR YOU:
✦ Out with Lanterns by SkyeBean, ahsoka & mace & jedi & clones & cast, 312.5k In another universe, Jedi Masters Plo Koon and Depa Billaba decide a Padawan could do Mace some good. It takes a while, but he eventually agrees. When he takes Ahsoka Tano as his Padawan, Mace knows that he's broken through a Shatterpoint and changed the course of a life. How, he doesn't know. This fic accomplishes several things that have sent me over the moon: 1) At its heart, it's an Ahsoka fic that shows her growing up as a Padawan, going on missions, learning lessons, and having character growth. 2) It weaves in so many other characters around her, that Mace is there in almost every chapter, serious but warm in the Force, just as beautifully characterized as she is. 3) The other Jedi get their moments of excellents, Shaak taking Ahsoka on her Akul hunt was wonder to read, seeing Obi-Wan show up for a chapter had me over the moon, Adi taking care with Ahsoka was lovely, Depa was a shining star when she took Ahsoka under her wing, Fox growing used to these strange Jedi and growing into himself through Ahsoka's eyes was wonderful. 4) The writing is that kind of solid that I don't mean as mid-tier, but the kind that I feel like can bear weight on it, I can pick it up and read for 30k and barely realize any time has passed, despite that I've gotten through an entire arc of the fic. 5) It does an incredible job of balancing that feel of The Clone Wars show, without directly copying anything, that it's like these are arcs that I could have seen on the show itself, the lessons woven in, but still with enough plot moving forward and action to make it exciting. If you want more Jedi-centric fic in your life (where they don't have to be perfect! sometimes they can be less than perfect and it's okay because they're still good! ohhhh, my heart warmed at that) or you want to read a lovely Ahsoka-centric fic in a different life, but still so recognizably herself, then this is one I want to shove right in your face immediately.
✦ Take it from the top and try again by mauvera, obi-wan & anakin & qui-gon & padme & mace & dooku & cast, time travel, 116.k wip Five years into his self imposed exile on Tattooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi is gifted the chance to go back and bring hope back to the galaxy. With hindsight on his side, he fully intends to save his master, save his padawan, make some new and old friends again, prepare the Jedi for a war they’ll hopefully never see and begin to pull apart all the many tangled threads of the Sith Lord’s plans. Should be relatively easy. Right? I got sucked into the first fic in this series (which is complete, if you want to read it--it's not the end of the story, but it's a good stopping point and feels like it should have some solid resolution if you don't want to get into a wip) and read the first fic over the course of about three days because I was sucked in so thoroughly. I can never get enough of Obi-Wan time traveling back to the past, where he loves the Jedi and they love him, and I love this one because he has to make genuine plans for changing things--things change and I have no idea how that's going to affect Palpatine's machinations! Exciting! But it's also a lovely look at Obi-Wan's dynamics with multiple characters--I found the Obi-Wan & Padme scenes a hightlight personally, their friendship really blossomed as they both flung themselves into trying to better the galaxy, even if she doesn't know he's from the future, that he's working so hard matched a lot of her energy and I really enjoyed that--from Qui-Gon to Mace to Padme to Anakin and, as the sequel progresses, Dooku as well. It's another Jedi-positive fic, it has me invested in the plot, it's a joy to see competent!Obi-Wan, and I would love to shove it at more people.
✦ Post Order 66 Exile AU by Livsy, obi-wan & anakin, 46k (wip-esque) After a failed order 66, in which many Jedi still died but the Sith were defeated, an exiled warrior and a boy wander a distant planet and attempt to get along. This is probably the shortest fic on this list but I'm including it because it genuinely felt longer than that, for how dense the emotional intensity of it is. It's an AU where the Jedi barely eked out a victory, still on the edge of extinction in many ways, and Anakin deep in the pits of the dark side, so Obi-Wan takes him to a backwater planet in exile for the both of them, traveling through the countryside and just trying to make it from day to day. What punched me right in the feelings place is that this fic doesn't shy away from the hurt and the anger on both sides, that both of them are allowed to be unreliable narrators that have their own points of view on what's transpired and what lays between them. It doesn't back away from the hurt they both feel, the despair they both feel, yet there's hope here. It's ultimately a story about clawing yourself back from the dark side, and it's beautifully characterized for both of them, that unkind things are said on both of their parts, but you understand why the characters are in the place they are. It's wrapped up in a lushly written backdrop, with some lovely Japanese feudal era details woven in, but also with a Star Wars patina spread across all of it. It's not necessarily a kind fic, but if you like fic that bites down on a wound, I enjoyed this series a lot and would love to see it continued--but, honestly, what's here is already enough resolution that, looking back on it after the initial "Noooooo, I need more!" feeling has faded, I'm actually very satisfied with. ✦ Men of Power by AlabasterInk, obi-wan & anakin & mace & yoda & jedi & palpatine & cast, 86.1k wip When an old powerful man suddenly comes in and sweeps your underage Padawan away without so much as a by your leave, that’s the time to start asking questions. I'm only about 20k into this fic, so I can't say what shape it will take later on or how much pairings might come into it, but I still had to come running over to shove this fic at people, because it's scratching the itch I have for Jedi-positive fic that explores the idea of Anakin's trauma from his childhood as a slave, that this is a child who is wound so tight and comes from such a horrible thing having been done to him, having been owned as a person, that I understand why he stays silent on some of the things I desperately wish he could talk about or he doesn't really believe some of the things the Jedi tell him. It's a fic that takes a lot more care with Anakin's character than I think canon ever intended, weaving in a lot of the heartbreaking stuff from Legends' supplementing the canon, and is creating something that punches me right in the feelings place for him, that he's such a bright, brilliant boy, but I see why he struggled and it's not about assigning blame in any direction. It's about deeply caring people who fate has take a few steps to the left and something shifts just a little--and I appreciate that there's something very delicate feeling here, that the Jedi just don't have any real reason to be suspicious of Palpatine, his actions make sense, they genuinely can't feel any ill intention from him in the Force, they discuss why it would make sense that he'd want to support Anakin, all while we the readers can see, in hindsight, where the shadows have been creeping in. If you want Jedi-positive fic that also leaves some teeth marks over Anakin's trauma being explored in a way that is entirely sympathetic to him, then I want to shove this fic at you, too.

2AM THOUGHTS #4: "This idiot is so down bad, your honour."
Anakin looked out at the campsite and huffed a tired breath. As his eyes flickered through the Clones and Jedi, he happened to catch sight of a familiar face, one he hadn't seen in two years.
He approached her curiously, gently touching her arm to get her attention.
"Y/N?" He asked as he took in her face again. It had to be her. "It can't be..."
"Who are you?" She asked, eyebrows furrowed as she wondered how he knew her name.
"It's me, Anakin!" He said, smiling.
"Ani?" She recalled, and the use of his nickname sent chills down his spine. Her face broke out into a grin as she recognized him and she jumped in joy. "Whoa!" Anakin laughed, joining into her childish outburst of emotion.
"How did you-"
"What are you-"
They giggled as he picked her up in his arms and twirled her around in pure bliss, not caring who saw.
She was back.
He had his Y/N back!
"Maker, I missed you so much!" She said, smiling ear-to-ear.
"I missed you, too! I mean, look at you!" He exclaimed, looking for the right choice of words. "You're grown-up now!"
She giggled, cupping his face in her hands and running her thumbs over his cheekbones. "And you... look how handsome you are now! I didn't think you could get any more beautiful but you look divine..."
He smiled at her in that way that she remembered, how his eyes would sparkle and his adorable dimples would show; that same smile that made her knees buckle still had the same effect on her.
"Me? Have you seen you? You're- you're stunning." He breathed and smiled like an idiot when she hugged him again.
"Master, Master Kenobi and I- oh." Ahsoka said, approaching the two friends.
"Master? You have a Padawan now?" She asked, smirking. "I never would have guessed it."
"Neither would I," he chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Ahsoka, this is Y/N, she's my best friend!"
"It's nice to meet you." The young girl smiled, offering her a nod.
"Oh, please, the pleasure is all mine." She grinned, nodding back. "Is he a good Master?"
"Yeah, he's okay." Ahsoka teased, and Anakin mocked offense by putting a hand on his chest.
"Uh, excuse me!" He said, but he couldn't keep a straight face, making Y/N laugh. He couldn't help but feel a sense of fullness when he heard her laughter leave her lips. Now it was just like when they were Padawans, when he used to make a stupid joke in an inappropriate moment and they'd hold back their snorts until they were forced to, only to burst out laughing the minute they were free until tears beaded up in their eyes.
"Um, why don't I show you around a bit?" Anakin offered.
"Maybe you can show her your tent..." she teased without thinking.
"Ahsoka!" He responded through gritted teeth, glaring daggers at her.
Y/N's cheeks tinted a soft pink, but she regained her composure to answer. "I'd love to, but I have a few things to do right now."
His expression fell slightly, like a puppy who was being denied a chance to go for a walk. "How about we catch up later this evening?"
He immediately smiled again, agreeing without thinking twice. "Of course, that would be perfection!"
He internally cringed at his choice of words. Nice going, you jackass.
Y/N just giggled at his goofiness, and hugged him again. "Great. I'll see you later, Ani." She said and left a soft, lingering kiss on his cheek.
"Bye, Ahsoka." She smiled at the Padawan, who waved back with a small smile as she looked at Anakin, who was watching her walk away while his fingertips grazed the spot her lips touched oh so gracefully.
"You are folding so damn hard for her and I am here for it." She chortled.
"What?! No! No, no!" He denied immediately. He didn't think his crush on her was so obvious. Was it?
"What's going on here?" Obi-Wan asked as he walked towards Master and Padawan.
"Y/N's back." Anakin hurried to speak before Ahsoka.
His response made Obi-Wan guffaw as well.
"This idiot is so down bad, your honour." She explained after his outburst.
"Oh, you have no idea, young one."
"Oh, shut up..." he groaned, but still looked at the direction she went in with a longing expression.
Obi-Wan and Ahsoka shared a knowing smile. She had never seen her Master, usually collected and suave, so head-over-heels for someone.
And she wasn't going to stop teasing him for the life of her.

What if
Qimir is a Jedi Master
A little bit smut 18+
Narrator's perspective:
Y/N is Qimir's Padawan. The two get along well, others would say a little too well. Today was another one of those training days. Y/N didn't really feel like it, as she hasn't been able to sleep properly for a while. Thoughts about her master keep her awake. She shouldn't have thoughts like that about her master, but she can't stop them either.
Y/N's lightsaber flies back to the ground. "What's wrong with you, my Padawan?" he asks, picking up her lightsaber. "It's nothing, Master," she says, picking up her lightsaber. Qimir sighs and shakes his head.
They both stand facing each other. "Concentrate," says Qimir. "Yes, master," she says.
Every time you call him master, his cock twitches. He knows he shouldn't think that way of his Padawan, but you're just so beautiful. He shakes his head to refocus. "Ready?" he asks. "Yes," she says and attacks him. But Qimir dodges. Y/N quickly turns around and wants to attack again, but it happens as it had to and Y/N stumbles a little. Qimir tries to catch her, but it's too late. They both land on the ground, Qimir on the bottom and Y/N directly on top of him. Qimir hopes Y/N doesn't notice the bulge in his pants.
Y/N lifts her head up. "I'm sorry," she says quickly. She actually wanted to get up straight away, but she notices a hardening down below. She moves a little inconspicuously and Qimir gasps for air. Y/N grins inwardly. Jackpot.
Your view:
I shouldn't really do this but we are so close and I can tell he likes it, so I move again this time he growls and grabs my waist. "Don't start anything you don't want to finish," he growls. I bend down to him. "Maybe I do want to, Master," I whisper in his ear while my hand wanders into his boxers and grabs his hard cock. I move my hand slowly up and down. Qimir moans and grabs my waist tighter. "Do you like that, Master?" I grin and only get a moan from him. The thought of someone catching us is exciting.
Qimir suddenly turns us around so that I'm underneath him. "Oh, my silly little Padawan, do you think you're in charge here?" he growls.
His hand wanders into my underwear and touches my entrance. "Are you so needy for your master?" Qimir grins. All I can manage is a moan. Qimir puts two fingers inside me. "Qimir," I moan. He just grins and slowly moves his fingers in and out. "Please, go faster," I moan. He moves his fingers faster, but just before I can come, he stops immediately. "Hey," I moan. "Not here," he says. "Or do you want the others to catch us?" he asks, raising his eyebrows. I shake my head. "Let's go to my room," Qimir grins.
He covers his bulge the whole way and I just grin. When we get to his room, he pushes me against the wall and kisses me. My hand goes to his crotch. "It's going to be a long night," he grins.

Guarded Desires: Part 5
Fandom: Star Wars - The Acolyte
Pairing: Padawan!Qimir x Princess!Reader
Summary: After an assassination attempt on your mother, she’s asked a favor from the Jedi Council to watch over you and your family until the assailant has been caught. As a result, your mother’s old friend, Master Vernestra, has her padawan, Qimir, be your bodyguard. Based off my imagine here.
Series Masterlist
Your sisters had calmed down, but your hold on them hadn't loosened. With each distant bang of explosion and shake of the walls, you held onto them tighter. You're not sure how long you three had been in the hideout room. If you were to spend the rest of the night there, you'd be fine. There were rations stored there in case any of you got hungry.
But that didn't ease the worry in your heart.
Eventually, you'd drifted off to sleep. Your sisters' heads using your legs as pillows.
You then hear the distant knocking. Three knocks, then two, then three again. You stir from your sleep when you hear the sequence again. Realizing that it was Qimir, you shake your sisters awake and scramble to unlock the door.
Your legs had fallen asleep so you lean onto the wall to keep you up as you place your hand on the scanner and the doors slide open.
Your parents immediately rush in, "Are you alright?" your mother asks, she's covered in soot and looks disheveled.
You nod, "We're alright. Mama...what happened?"
She looks down and shakes her head, "Too much. I-We just wanted to make sure you girls are alright."
You look to your father who's holding Ada and Aspen in his arms. Their little arms wrapped around his shoulders.
"How many are-" you begin to ask, but your father shakes his head. His eyes telling you not to discuss it with the girls in your presence.
You nod and turn back to your mother, "Are we staying still staying in the palace?"
Your mother sighs, "Vernestra insisted we stay at the Jedi temple on planet for extra guarded protection. She'll have more Jedi sent here to help with the investigation. We'll leave in a few hours so start packing your things. Only the essentials."
"Yes, mama." You step out of the hideout room and see Qimir standing there waiting for you. His robes are ruffled, covered in soot. He stares at you with sad eyes. You want to hug him right there, but figured it's best not to. Not when your parents are there.
You nod for him to follow you and you exit your sisters' room. You gasp when you see debris every where. Holes in the ceiling and walls. You feel Qimir's hand on your shoulder, "Come on," he murmurs and guides you down the hall to your room.
It's a wonder that your room and your sisters' room was left unscathed yet everywhere else in the palace seemed to be hit with destruction.
You immediately sit on your bed, slumping forward. You look at Qimir, "Tell me what happened."
"I ca-"
"Qimir, please! My home, my family, and my people, everything that I hold dear was attacked! Don't hide the truth from me."
Qimir hesitates but he relays what he knows, "Apparently one of the groups from the civil war heard about your family wanting to provide refuge to those displaced from the war. They didn't like that so-"
"So they attacked us. I can only assume they're also the ones who tried to assassinate my mother since she's been so vocal about providing aid for the refugees?"
He nods, "From what I've heard from the Jedi investigating."
You run your hands down your face, "You know my father wants to remain neutral through all of this? 'Let them handle it themselves,' he said." You scoff. You let out a deep breath, "I'm tired of being forced to stand by while people get hurt. They're our people!"
Qimir walks over to your bed, sitting beside you, "How did the war start?"
You snort, "Pride and unrequited love." You glance at Qimir and his brows are furrowed in confusion. You explain, "On the other side of the planet, there's two villages: Qorath and Drellis. The son of the village leader in Qorath is in love with the daughter of the village leader in Drellis. However, she doesn't feel the same.
"Still, the son proposed to her and she rejected him. In retaliation, he and his men attacked Drellis. Drellis fought back and things grew from there. Each side gathering neighboring villages for aid. A lot of blood has been spilled and so many have lost their homes. On both sides. But it ultimately all started due to pride and unrequited love."
Qimir sees your hand on your bed. It's nearly touching his. Slowly, he moves his hand to rest on yours, "You're very passionate about this."
You look at his hand on yours, "I care deeply about our people."
"Even if caring for them brings you pain and distress?"
You shrug, "We all should have the freedom to feel whatever we want to feel. Even if it brings us consequences." Under his hand, you turn your palm up and intertwine your fingers with his. It's a dangerous move, but you can't help it. After he kissed your cheek and you worried for him, you just wanted to give him a sliver of an idea of how you felt.
You watch him with careful eyes, ready to pull away if he shows any sign of rejection or being uncomfortable.
He gulps and slowly locks his fingers with yours. He slowly leans in, eyes glancing at your lips, and he whispers, "Y/N, I-"
The moment is broken when Ryker walks in, "O-Oh! Am I interrupting something?"
Qimir immediately pulls away and stands, "No. Did you need something?" he locks his hands behind his back, giving off the image of professional and stoic.
Ryker cocks a brow at you and Qimir, "...yes. Master Vernestra would like a meeting with all of us, in preparation for our departure."
"Alright," Qimir nods then turns to you, "I will be back, your Highness. I suggest you start packing."
"Okay," you mumble, watching the two men exit your rooms.
The door closes behind them and you fall back onto your bed, hands covering your face, "For kriffing sake's!" You two almost kissed. You almost kissed Qimir. Qimir almost kissed you.
You groan, "I'm screwed," you say out loud, speaking out to no one but yourself.

————————————————————
You had woken up the moment you felt Anakin’s presence nearby followed by a light opening of the front door. You removed the blankets from your body, you stood up from the couch making your way to the door. Anakin’s eyes scanned the room, he could feel Ahsoka’s sleeping presence in your bedroom. His eyes landing on the couch where you slept, the blankets crumpled. His eyes finally landed on you, your hair tousled, you had worn his tunic to bed. He stepped inside your secretly shared home.
“ How is she?” He whispered he takes another step forward pulling off his armor, trying to free himself of the war that weighed down on him. He leaned down pecking your forehead.
“She's pretty upset, she wasn’t comfortable going back to her room so I let her stay in mine.” You yawned as you turned to walk back to your makeshift bed. Anakin follows behind you.
“ Who told her?” He scrunched his eyebrows as he sat down pulling off his boots. You immediately laid back down in your spot.
“ Padme”
“ Why?”
“ Uh well for starters Senators are amazing talkers. They are very good at getting answers and giving answers. Ahsoka knows that, the only person she trusts and the only person we trust has those answers.” You reached up, running a hand through Anakin’s hair as he finished pulling off his boots, moving to pull off his glove.
“I never wanted her to find out this way” his eyes shifted from yours back to his glove then back to yours.
“ Neither did she, in fact she wanted you to be the one to tell her.”
“ But she adores you, why would she want me to tell her?” Anakin by now had pulled off his glove and shirt leaving him in his trousers. You placed your hand back down, turning onto your side. Anakin crawling in behind you, tucking himself under the blankets and wrapping his arms around you.
“Because you're her Master, and she spends most of her time with you. I think she just wanted to hear it from you before anyone else. Including me” You replied, Anakin placed his cheek down onto your head, his mouth by your ear. His arms tucked under your arms. “- I think you should talk to her in the morning.”
“ Hmm, maybe you could help me?”
“Sure if it makes you feel better” You tell him, shutting your eyes, snuggling further into the couch, your head resting into the pillow, the warmth and heat from the blanket and Anakin making you sleepy.
“ Y/N.” Anakin sighed softly, almost in a come-on type of way. He props himself up on his elbow, leaning down over you so that he could look at your face.
“ Alright, alright, I’ll help you.” You peeked through one eye up at him, trying hard not to laugh at his behavior.
“Together?” He asks.
“ Yes, together. Now can we please go to sleep, you’re all nice and warm and I’m tired”
“ What if I’m not?”
You opened your eyes, turning your head towards him. His nose is bumping yours. “ We have company, this isn’t exactly the time or place”
“ Why not?”
“ Because I got a kid in my room or did that leave your mind”
“ No, I just missed you”
“ I missed you too, but- Anakin! No, I am sleeping on the other couch, you can sleep by yourself!” You smacked Anakin’s grabby hands pushing yourself off of the couch, moving to the opposite. Anakin grabbed your arm, yanking you back down refusing to let you move.
“ I’ll keep my hands to myself. I swear” He gives you a sweet smile, you squint your eyes at him.
“ Fine” You crawled back into his arms. His bare chest resting against your back. His arms wrapping around you, you held his arm and hand to your chest. You shut your eyes again, Anakin basking in your presence he too shut his eyes, sleep driving you both into a deep slumber. As the night grew into early morning, Ahsoka found herself exiting your bedroom. She had a lot on her mind, yet she found solace and peace here in your home, the home you shared with Anakin. It was comforting to know that if she needed an escape that she could come here. She felt safe and protected, relaxed. She felt freedom, to feel, to express her emotions. Ahsoka stretched her arms and legs out, a content sigh leaving her. This was one of best sleeps she’s had in a long time. It brought tears to her eyes, her bare feet touching the soft padding, a rug. She wiped the tears from her eyes, she moved from the bed to your bedroom door, opening it.
Ahsoka walked through the hall and into the living area, the wide windows open, letting the barely risen morning sun shine through. She could sense deep sleep, Anakin and you were in. Ahsoka tip-toed towards the couch, peering over, you were laid down on the couch, your arm thrown across Anakin’s back, your head turned towards the couch cushion. Anakin laid on top of you with his head on your chest, his arm dangling off the couch, his head facing in the direction of the window. The two of you looked stress free, in the state of serenity. Ahsoka needed some time to figure out what she felt. Even as she felt happy she was still hurting from the fact the two of you never told her. She needed to burn off some of that excess energy to channel it elsewhere. Ahsoka made her way quietly out of your shared home, heading for the Jedi Temple, training, she needed training.
Ahsoka entered the sparring hall, thankfully no one had been in there except Obi Wan. Obi Wan wasn’t exactly training more like stretching, his eyes were closed but he knew she was there, he could sense her unease, her pain, her happiness, her many emotions.
“ You’re up early”
“Hello Master Obi Wan, do you mind if I join you?” Ahsoka moved toward the sparring mat, Obi Wan continued his stretches.
“ Sure, I could use the company” He reaches over, moving to his other leg.
“ Great, uh can I ask you a question” Ahsoka plops down next to him, starting her set of stretches.
“ Of course” He stops turning to look at Ahsoka.
“ Um, Has Anakin ever mentioned… feelings… to you before?” Ahsoka reaches for her toes.
“ Feelings?”
“ Yes feelings”
“ On rare occasions he has. Most of the time I have to remind him to have patience or reassure his overactive mind-Is something wrong?”
“ Uh no not exactly” She stops turning to look at Obi Wan.
“ Then what seems to be troubling you”Obi Wan watched Ahsoka closely. A deep sigh leaving her chest as she looks down at the floor. “I’m sure whatever it is, it will be alright”
“ Master, if a Jedi falls in love-“
“ Ah I see, you found out about Y/N and Anakin” Obi Wan waves his hand in acknowledgment.
“ You knew? Of course you knew you were Anakin’s Master-How come you never said anything?”
“I try not to meddle in others' personal affairs. But to ease your mind I was in love once myself, Duchess Satine. Back when I was a padawan not much older than Anakin. I spent a year in Mandalore. I loved her and if she had asked I would’ve left the order. But I didn’t-I haven’t, and I follow a path of Jedi. However this doesn’t mean I don’t support Anakin and Y/N's relationship. They kept it a secret and they still follow their own path as a Jedi. I have no reason to report them nor a desire to. They are my closest friends and my only family.”
“ So love is forbidden but it seems that almost every Jedi I know has experienced it.”
“ Becoming a jedi comes with complications. We sacrifice everything we know and feel to a cause that is meant to keep and protect the peace. It can get lonely, and oftentimes, people find themselves drawn to others who are in similar situations. Ahsoka, they are natural feelings and as a Jedi, we feel them regardless of the code, it is our responsibility to maintain them. Do with that what you will”
“ Thanks Obi Wan”
“ You’re welcome Ahsoka”
“ So Duchess Satine, what's the story behind that?”
“ Another time”
“ Aw come on”
“Let’s train”
“ Seriously”
“ Keep pushing and we’ll visit the library”
——————
“ Where is she?!” You hissed as you and Anakin both walked briskly down the Jedi halls. You had checked the cafeteria first, you knew that when she couldn’t sleep she often would eat a snack or food. Something but she was nowhere near the cafeteria.
“ Let’s check the sparring hall” Anakin and you both turned heading out of the room. Your nerves were skyrocketing. You tried to calm them, ease them, you took deep breaths attempting to regulate them. You needed to be calm in order for you to find her. You couldn’t do that when you were stressed. Anakin was no help, his own anxiety and worry slipping through the cracks, it went unnoticed by most, it was his typical behavior besides his overconfidence and cocky personality. His massive height gives him an advantage with his strides, for anyone else it would be hard to catch up. For you even though you were short, you marched his pace quick and easy. Even after the two of you had searched the sparring room there was no sign of her. The two of you searched every corner of every area you thought she might be in and each time you came up empty handed.
The two of you reached your shared home. You ran a hand across your forehead. You were failing at staying calm. Your head was beginning to pound and just the mere thought of your relationship ruining her life ate at you. You remained quiet, you said nothing how could you. Anakin the mere opposite of you spoke everything, he was furious, and scared, he was more scared of what could happen to Ahsoka than the council finding out. He could care less. He just wanted her to be safe. He shook his head throwing his robe on the couch, you paced by the window. You hadn’t even thought of taking your robe off your shoes or anything.
“Where would she go?” Anakin looks around.
“ I don’t know” you whispered.
“ She can’t just leave” Anakin shakes his head
“ But she did. She left, she’s gone”
“ She’s not gone” Anakin turns to look at you.
“ Look what we did Anakin-what if she ran away because of us?!”
“ That’s not Ahsoka, she would never do that”
“ But what if she did”
“ She won’t” Anakin eyes locked onto yours. He was certain. He had to be no he needed to be.
“ How do you know that? We single handily fucked up everything she knew about the order. Not to mention that she has no one to talk to about what she saw and heard- She’s a kid, she’s just a kid”
“I don’t care what the Jedi say, she is my padawan, my responsibility, she can keep the peace and be a soldier by feeling and trusting her instincts. She won’t leave, I know her!”
“ She isn’t just your padawan, she’s our friend! You may not care about the order but she might! She might trust and believe what she hears, you can’t decide that for her!“
“ She isn’t leaving Y/N, she’ll be here!”
“ Anakin-“ The door opened to your home, both of you turned to look towards it, Ahsoka walked through looking tired but carrying a lunch.
“ Ugh I'm sorry I'm late, Master Obi Wan thought it would be a good idea to visit the library. He said I ask too many questions..”. You and Anakin both raised your eyebrows in surprise. Relief filled your chest and your heart, the anxiety washing away. Anakin held a smile of his own, pride, gratitude and happiness echoing in his chest and heart. He knew this wouldn’t have driven Ahsoka away, with the many ideals they do share, emotions are one of them. You clasped your hands together, you fought the urge to rush to her and wrap her in your arms. Ahsoka smiled; she seemed to have known you too well. Ahsoka ran over to you, throwing her arms around you. She was happy to be home, and you were more than willing to provide her that safety, love, home and a family.
“ So you’re not mad about us getting together?” You asked as your arms wrapped tighter around Ahsoka hugging her one last time before letting go.
“ No” She says simply, a content sigh escaping you. You were worried that she would have rejected the two of you but now that she didn’t, and now that you knew she won’t. You could sleep easy, you would know that she would be loved and protected. That she would be taken care of and not just by you but by the man whom you married. Her own Master.
“ Ahsoka, now is the time to express your concerns.” Anakin reminds her as he crosses his arms.
“ Master, it's fine! I was worried at first but then Master Obi Wan reassured me that everything was okay! As long as we continue to meet the needs of the people then what is there to worry about. Both of you do it everyday, I know it’s not easy, but I support you both.”
“ Really?Keeping the peace and all of that, you mean to tell me you aren’t the least bit frustrated?” You questioned her raising an eyebrow.
“-I-I admit I was a little hurt by the fact that neither one of you told me about your marriage. Specifically you Master, you share everything with me and you kept the most important secret to yourself. I would’ve preferred if you told me rather than hearing it from someone else. I can assure you both that your secret is safe with me” Ahsoka gives you both a reassuring smile.
“ Thank you Ahsoka. I can promise you that there will be no more secrets, only the truth.” Anakin whispers. His own tears welling but he fights them off. His own version of relief lifts off his chest, the weight he carried slipping away. His heart is a little lighter, his love for his padawan growing. The two of you felt a shift in the air, a new dynamic exposing itself, a new reality that the two of you silently wished you could have. It was almost impossible to miss, the fact that Ahsoka will always be more than just a padawan to them both. Anakin walked over to her, taking her in his arms. You watched as tears welled in your own eyes, your own heart bursting with happiness. Ahsoka wrapped her arms around her Master.
Ahsoka couldn’t put into words the feelings she had. It was merely indescribable. All she could feel was love and light. An understanding between the three of them, her own mind, heart, and soul out at ease. She felt your arms wrap around Anakin and her. In that moment she felt content, at peace, she felt loved and cared for. She felt comfortable, stress free, and just for a minute or two she felt like a kid with her parents. She felt the world lift off her shoulders, no mask to hide her anger, her pain, her sadness, her frustrations, her pride, her joy, all of it. She wanted to cry and so she did, a few tears slipping down her cheeks. She let herself feel all of it in the safety of both your arms. She never knew how much she needed this, how much you all needed it. She sighed the tighter the two of you held her, Ahsoka had shut her eyes for a few seconds longer taking it in even longer. She wasn’t ready to let go yet.
“ As much as I love this reunion, I’m getting hungry, we should eat” You spoke as earned a laugh from both Anakin and Ahsoka. The three of you let go of each other grinning with little chuckles left over from your laughs.
“ I think we should eat something that’s not porridge” Ahsoka says earning an eye roll from Anakin
“ I second that” You looked at your husband.
“ We could eat rations” Anakin shrugs as if he was serious.
“ Awe come on-“ You rested your hands on your hips.
“ Master, I'm tired of rations” Ahsoka shakes her head crossing her arms
“No rations then”
“ Let’s go to that restaurant Obi Wan normally goes too” You walked over grabbing both Anakin’s and Ahsoka’s cloaks and handing it to them. The three of you were heading for the door.
“ Ahsoka?” Anakin questions.
“ Yes Master?”
“ Obi Wan told you that you asked too many questions, what did you ask him?”
“ Oh right, I asked him about Duchess Satine. He gave me very little detail but I could make some inferences on my own about them. It got me thinking about the two of you. I thought it would be a good idea to ask Master Obi Wan how you both met.”
“ Oh” Your eyes locked on to Anakin’s whose eyebrows rose in surprise. He shouldn’t have been so caught off guard he knew better than to assume that she would in fact ask questions after all she is his padawan.
“ Oh? Is there something I’m missing?”
“ Ummm no I just think that this is something we probably shouldn’t discuss-“
“ Why not Master Y/N? I’m sure it’s a lovely story” Ahsoka contorts her face bringing on the irresistible adorableness as she tries to bait you into spilling the details. She is as creative as her Master, pulling the biggest trick of all on you. You stop in your tracks placing your hands on your hips. Anakin and Ahsoka stop in their tracks side by side crossing their arms.
“ Lovely story my ass, your Master put me through and gave me hell”
“ I did not”
“ Yes you did”
“ That’s not how I remember it”
“ Of course you don’t remember it like that”
“ What’s that supposed to mean”
“ Guys?! Can someone tell me the story?!”
“Ask him” You pointed towards Anakin who was only shaking his head. Ahsoka made a face looking between the two of you.
“ Why can’t you tell her?”
“ You really think she should hear the story?-“
“Never mind, let’s just keep going, forget I asked” Ahsoka waves it off.
“ Good idea” You remove your hands from your hips, taking Ahsoka back into your arms as the two of you walk. Anakin follows behind still yet a cheeky grin remains on his face. His mind drifted back to the past that you both shared, an intense heated past. Maybe the topic is best left unsaid though he’d definitely make you pay for it later. Anakin switched gears in his mind again drifting back to the view in front of him. You and Ahsoka had moved on to another conversation. The two of you wrapped in each other's arms. Giggles and laughs echoed through the air. It was melodic, comforting, reassuring. The three of you entered the restaurant sitting down in a booth. Ahsoka sat next to you and Anakin sat across from you both. A sad truth Anakin had accepted the moment the two of you crossed paths.
“I can’t believe you met a boy! And he’s a senator, Ahsoka! You know your Master was into a Senator once too”
“ Y/N” Anakin groans, shoving his face into his mechanical hand as he leaned his elbow on the table.
“ Whaaaaatt” Ahsoka gasped, eyes widened with excitement.
“ Oh yeah, back in his padawan years, Senator Amidala”
“ Wait, you mean Padme?” Ahsoka's mind had officially been blown.
“ What happened to we aren’t talking about our love story”
“ I changed my mind” You chuckled, as you watched Ahsoka’s eyes lit up and Anakin, who removed his face from his hand, offered you his charming smile. You started from the very beginning as far as you could go, you spared Ahsoka some of the gritty details, but you spoke of friendship, love, loyalty, everything. You spoke of the hardships you went through. Anakin joined in telling his version of the story which led to more arguing on who was right. Ahsoka rested her chin in her hand. She asked questions, and made comments. She was more than delighted to know the truth. It was something she hoped to experience one day too. She loved the way the two of you bickered like an old married couple, ironically that’s who you both were. This was a memory Ahsoka carries with her forever.

au where the Jedi Order has a program where Knights take odd jobs around Coruscant to strengthen their connection with the planet and also experience life outside of the Order, and Obi-Wan volunteers to work at a newspaper right before the beginning of the Clone Wars, because he thinks writing about intergalactic politics or reviewing new ship designs would be cool…..but the Coruscanti News immediately puts him on the Advice Column, creating a new section called Dear Ben because they think a Jedi would give interesting advice even though they won’t advertise that he’s a Jedi, and the Jedi Council are incredibly supportive because it’s a way to teach Jedi tenets and beliefs to people struggling with grief or anger, etc so Obi-Wan can’t quit even though he very much wants to
Meanwhile Anakin hears about a new column in his favorite section of the Coruscanti News called Dear Ben, and he’s dealing with so much as a senior padawan!! He’s going to see the love of his life Padmé Amidala again soon!! So he writes to the column for advice on how to woo her while on a job (“I’m seeing a woman I met when I was a kid again soon because she hired my company to help her. I know it’s time to kiss her. How do I make her see me as an adult? I dream of her supple body and her—“ the rest of this letter cannot be published in our newspaper for its vulgar depictions and explicit language)
And Obi-Wan gets this letter and he has to write back and be like “Dear Grown and a Shower Not a Grower, please do not do that. Be professional. Romance can wait until after your work is complete. That dedication will surely impress her.”
and Anakin takes his advice, it works, and he keeps writing in for more advice and every single time obi-wan answers because whoever this guy is has ideas of relationships and MARRIAGE and life that need to be corrected
and they absolutely don’t know who they’re writing to, but they carry out a very public correspondence throughout the war as their job allows, and Obi-Wan-as-Ben is able to talk Anakin through a lot of his hurts (ie Rako Hardeen) and eventually Anakin is like holy shit I think I am in love with Ben from the advice column around the same time Obi-Wan realizes he’s incredibly fond of Hopeless On Coruscant (his nickname for Anakin after the 4th major life crisis he wrote in about)
what ever are they to do about it 🙄🤪 other than….meet up 😏
#Kit’s silly lil AUs#hopeless on coruscant au#obikin#I feel like I wrote something like this like 2 years ago but it’s just easier to rewrite the post than try to find it#also this one is gffa so definitely better than them just being modern au#because now anakin has to translate all of his problems into non Jedi speech#ie Ahsoka is assigned to him and he has to be like ‘dear Ben I have a child now and also i am worried about her safety because of the war’#and obi-wan is like oh no I understand it’s hard to raise a child in such difficult times but coruscant will be safe from the war I oromise#and anakin is like Hm no I take her into war zones like all the time

Re: Obitine and Anidala
I originally wrote this in response to @marvelstars' excellent post on the subject, but I wanted to share it again because it's one of many topics in which I have a differing view from the prevailing fandom perspective.
Above all, it truly drives me nuts how the fandom pits these two relationships against each other. I'm a die-hard Anidala shipper and when I first watched TCW, I was DELIGHTED by the Obitine ship. I saw nothing about it that made me think it was supposed to be viewed as somehow 'better' or more 'ideal' than Anidala. I only ever saw it as a relationship that was more suited to Obi-Wan's character and personality. Not to mention that Padme and Satine are presented as friends who get along well and go on adventures together to right political wrongs, much in the same vein that Anakin and Obi-Wan go on their many military exploits together. The story sets them up as two couples who, in an a more ideal timeline, would be besties who go on double dates together. In my opinion, fandom's insistence on viewing them through the lens of 'which one is a 'morally better couple' is completely missing the point. Personally, I see them as two sides of the same coin.
Since @marvelstars' post was specifically about these two couples as they relate to the idea of commitment to the Jedi Order, I also focused on that angle. Imo, the way Obitine's relationship panned out made sense for their characters and context. Just like Anidala's makes sense for theirs. Obi-Wan and Satine met each other as young adults and had a whole year 'on the run' together before having to say their farewells, whereas Anakin and Padme first meet as children, then re-meet and fall in love over a short span of time, and then suddenly their world is at war and they are facing imminent, possibly indefinite, separation. That's why they marry while still remaining in their respective Jedi and Senator roles, because they feel it might be their only chance to have anything resembling the family they both long for. They understand that they might not survive the war. Whereas Obi-Wan and Satine had first met when Satine's world was already enmeshed in civil war, and then they parted once peace was reestablished and their lives were no longer in immediate danger. And when they meet again during the Clone Wars, it's a wholly different scenario and things have drastically changed (she is the head of a neutral system, he is already established as a general in a war she is opposed to). They are also older, in their 30s, while Anakin and Padme embody the headstrong impetuosity and passion of young love. So it's not as though Obi-Wan and Satine are going to drop everything and enter a committed relationship/marriage in that context in the same way Anakin and Padme do in theirs (when, notably, Anakin is still a padawan and about to be sent to the frontlines to fight in a war for the first time).
As mentioned above, when I was watching TCW I never thought that the purpose of showing both of these relationships in contrasting-parallel to one another was somehow to demonstrate that one was more 'sacrificial' for remaining in the Order and giving up the relationship while the other was more 'selfish' for trying to have both at the same time. Rather, what I feel the story is actually saying is something completely different. It's important to remember that both of these relationships involve a Jedi and the political leader to whom he had originally been assigned as a bodyguard. What is the significance of that? Well, I would argue it's more than just a romantic trope. When I watch Lucas-era Star Wars, I'm always aware that the characters have both an immediate role in-story as well as a symbolic function. Satine, a pacifist, can be seen to represent Peace. Padme, as a Senator, stands for Justice and the rights of the people. And what is it that Obi-Wan says to Luke all those years later? That the Jedi were 'the guardians of Peace and Justice in the old Republic'. This strikes me as hugely significant. Especially if we understand that the Jedi Order had lost its way as of the Prequels-era. While the fandom focuses on which couple is 'better' because of how their relationship affects each Jedi's respective commitment to the Order, I see it from a completely different angle. My understanding is that the Jedi's TRUE purpose (in relation to their role within the Republic) was actually to dedicate their lives to protecting Peace and Justice and those who truly upheld these ideals in the galaxy. Obi-Wan and Anakin's actual callings in life should have been to protect Satine and Padme, whom they loved. Whether this manifested in a more chivalric, courtly love scenario or an outright marriage is immaterial. Rather, what matters is that being a Jedi and dedicating their lives to these women due to their love for them was not incompatible with their role as protectors and defenders of the galaxy, but was in fact the truest expression of it. The so-called 'commitment' to the Order itself was never truly the point, and that's the tragedy of the Prequels-era. Because it was the Order that had by this point forbidden love and family, and which had embroiled Obi-Wan and Anakin and the rest of the Jedi in a war that went against their own principles. A war that, it could be argued, ultimately lead to the deaths of both Satine and Padme, and with them Peace and Justice—the very values that the Jedi were supposed to protect and serve.

Obikin sickfic musings
So I’ve been sick for almost the past week, pretty much unable to look at a screen or do much more than rot in my bedroom for most of it. But! I have been thinking sick fic thoughts. Especially after reading Lemon's Obi-Wan sickfic a few weeks back. What is Anakin like when he’s sick? (And how does Obi-Wan take care of him)
The Jedi don’t get sick very often and when they do, they can often be sent to the Halls of Healing or the medbay of their star destroyers to get any illness treated quickly. But sometimes that isn’t possible, common colds are too various and changeable to treat directly so it’s easier a lot of the time for them to pass on their own.
Anakin gets one while out in the field and doesn’t really notice at first. A bit of congestion, fatigue, dizziness, isn’t really enough to stop him from doing what needs to be done. Honestly, most of that is expected after pushing himself so hard for so long.
When Anakin is sick, he pushes himself too hard. He is out on a campaign, stationed on planet, and in the midst of leading the ground troops through an assault. Midway through, he stops giving orders, fully immersed in his own head and doing what needs to be done. He has a few close calls, his reflexes are slower than they should be, but they live to fight another day. Ahsoka and Rex give him a few sideways looks as they return to the ship.
Even when the battle is over, he doesn’t retire to his quarters. He stays up, heading to the hangar to catch up on some repairs he has been thinking about for weeks. He waves off attempts to get him to slow down and rest, needing to keep going until he collapses.
Ahsoka loses patience with him almost immediately and hands the situation over to Rex until he convinces her to call in reinforcements. General Kenobi is in the system, wrapping up an engagement on a neighboring planet. If anyone can tell Anakin to sit down and rest, it’s him. Thankfully, he is only an hour away.
“Anakin.”
“What are you doing here?”
“You’re sick.”
“I’m fine. Did Ahsoka call you?”
“She did but I’m told the decision was seconded by Rex, your officers, and Chief Medic Kix.”
“…Traitors.”
“There are two ways this could go. You can admit that you are not feeling well and head back to your quarters to sleep of the rest of this cold with your dignity still intact.”
“Or?”
“Or I give it about ten minutes before you collapse and I have to carry you back to your quarters.”
“Fine.”
Anakin wasn’t exactly allowed to be sick when he was little. His mother took care of him as best she could, but Watto forced him to work regardless of how Anakin felt. His early years at the Temple were marked by a few bouts of illness, as his body adapted to its strange new home. He is better about recognizing illness and accepting help now but some habits are hard to break.
“Don’t you have somewhere else to be?”
“My mission went exceedingly well, thanks for asking. Completed it with just enough time to wrestle unruly former padawans into bed.”
“I mean, if you want to—”
“You can barely stand, Anakin. Hold still.”
“I’m still capable of taking my own armor off.”
“Then why is it still on?”
“…I think it’s half the reason I’m still standing.”
“Come now. Clothes off.”
“Sir, yes, sir.”
“Anakin.”
When Anakin is feeling truly miserable, every kindness shown to him is treated like a gift from the Force itself.
“You don’t have to be here, you know.”
“I know.”
“I’m here now, in bed, resting. I promise I’m not dumb enough to run off the second you leave.”
“I know that too.”
Anakin breathes a heavy sigh that catches around the congestion in his chest. He clears his throat and nuzzles into Obi-Wan’s side.
“Thank you.”
“Whatever for?”
“For everything,” Anakin slurs. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, darling.”
Anakin smiles at the sound of the endearment he only ever hears when he is very sick. Obi-Wan offers it up carelessly to other people but it only ever gets administered to Anakin when he is at his lowest, perhaps when Obi-Wan thinks that Anakin won’t notice or remember, or when he believes Anakin most needs to hear it. Anakin remembers every single “darling” and “dearest” and “love”. Something about them does make him feel just a little bit better.
“Are you going to make your tea?”
“You hate my tea.”
“Yes, but I like that you make it.”
“…Alright.”
Anakin doesn't like the taste of Obi-Wan's tea but he does like the way that the ceramic mug feels in his hands and the smell of the steam that wafts from it and the way it fights the chill from his low-grade fever. This time, when he holds it in his hands and shivers, it almost feels like a good thing.
Obi-Wan stays with Anakin as he falls asleep, sitting up behind him on the narrow bed in Anakin’s quarters, keeping him elevated to help with his congestion. He runs his fingers through Anakin’s hair as Anakin’s mouth falls slack and he begins to doze as well.
“Aren’t you worried about getting sick too?”
“A Jedi doesn’t get sick.”
“What do you call this then?”
“A minor setback. You’ll be on your feet again in no time. Now, rest.”
When Anakin can’t sleep and makes some truly pitiful noises, Obi-Wan agrees to read to him. Anakin buries his face in Obi-Wan’s robes as he lets the words wash over him. It doesn’t matter what Obi-Wan is reading to him, the fact that he is here, that he cares, is more than enough. Obi-Wan presses a kiss to Anakin’s forehead just before he falls asleep again to check on his temperature.
Obi-Wan is only able to spend a few hours with him before being called back to the front. He manages to escape before Anakin’s cold takes a turn for the gross, all of the coughing and hacking that means that whatever is in his system is finally starting to break up a bit. The few hours together don’t feel like much, don’t feel like enough, but he is able to help Anakin to take care of himself and offer a bit of comfort in a time so often devoid of it.
“Master, is that Master Kenobi’s robe?”
“Yeah, he left it for me.”
“Isn’t it just a standard issue robe? You have like three of them.”
“It’s soft.”

Day one of @jdiknight's SWTOR-tober prompt list- for this challenge I'm actually challenging myself to do two additional things: A, to do more relaxed traditional drawing in my sketchbook- to have more fun drawing, to improve my confidence with traditional drawing, and to worry less about getting everything 'perfect'. So I'm (probably) not going to do any digital art for this prompt list. And B, actually posting about my characters' stories because my perfectionism keeps me from sharing their lore on my blog, 😅 I'm always looking for the 'right' way to present it which always ends up in me not posting anything instead. I want to change that and actually use my Tumblr blog like... a blog.
So along with drawings, I'm going to babble a bit about any eventual lore/story bits the drawings may be related to. Pretty long ramble under the cut:
The first prompt, 'Training', immediately made me think of my Jedi siblings, Akk'rai and Zilei, and the journey they have in their... well, training! And how their study of lightsaber fighting is heavily impacted by the dynamics between them. While the Jedi don't have traditional family structure, I feel like these two get as close as you can to an adoptive sibling relationship within the Order- from being extremely close friends in the same Jedi initiate Clan to learning alongside each other throughout their Padawan-hood- these two spend much of their formative years (and then some,) together.
Their masters (a former master and padawan duo themselves,) travel in a group after the Jedi are splintered due to the destruction of the Jedi temple in 0 BTC and stick together for a few years even after the temple on Tython has become operational. Akk'rai and Zilei spend a great deal of time sparring with each other rather than their individual masters due to Akk'rai's master being a little too far on older side to duel with the youths.
Their sparring is the first place where cracks, symptoms of a dysfunction in their dynamic, start to show. Before the attack on the Jedi temple, the two of them were only 'siblings'. There was no 'older' or 'younger', they were simply brother and sister in their own little way.
When the Empire strikes Coruscant, this dynamic is forcibly molded into something new. Akk'rai, the older of the two, took on the role of a protector, and Zilei, the role of the protected. There isn't much a fourteen year old child can do to shield a ten year old from fully fledged Sith warriors. She guarded him anyway, trying to lead them both through the disorder.
While Akk'rai came to the temple at a later age, slightly roughened from tough encounters, Zilei had been there from birth and had no experience facing any kind of danger. He was completely and utterly overwhelmed and he clung to Akk'rai very desperately. They never came out of it quite the same. And the seeds of a subtle conflict between them- one that would span nearly two decades- had been sown.
They retained the new dynamic long after the danger had passed- and it affected how they approached becoming Jedi. Akk'rai, despite being on the road to becoming a Jedi historian, remained frantically devoted to perfecting the art of lightsaber combat on the side; driven by the deep underlying fear that they would never be safe unless she could assure it. Her approach to combat was, in a way, scholarly- deeply analytical and systematic to guarantee a win and undermine danger or disable opponents quickly.
Zilei, on the other hand, with two Jedi masters in tow, felt no threat to his safety- especially with his sister there. Intuitively, he felt secure, and thus angled towards learning as something you absorb and experience over time, rather than something you force forward. Fighting was never his priority in becoming a Jedi Knight. The ability to defend yourself and others was just a necessary building block of the whole- and he would approach it as such, without fear. Not to say he never dealt with his own doubts and worries, rather, he managed them well enough to keep them from bleeding into his study.
As one might expect, these diverging attitudes did cause a disparity in their combat abilities. Not only did Akk'rai have more time as a Padawan under her belt, she fought with a different attitude- an additional underlying mentality guided her in combat alongside formal prowess. Losing a real fight could mean losing him, or someone else; she cannot afford to lose. But these fights weren't real. Rather than being saved from anything, Zilei's confidence in his own abilities was starting to suffer. Even if he did match her in technique, that final push of conviction often tipped the scales. Training became its own quiet battleground.
This imbalance was eventually addressed as Zilei quietly received some wisdom from his master; advice that would become foundational to his approach to combat throughout his life. To beat his sister, he would have to understand a certain principle: Dogmatically practicing every form to formulaic perfection can lead to rigidity- the faster an object moves, the harder it will crash. Every positive attribute in combat, and in life, tends to have an equal and exploitable negative- a vice that can be fallen into without care.
This mentally reframed Zilei's attitude to combat, and gave him the ground for a methodology to fall back on when approaching a fight. Staying serene, almost easygoing and waiting to trip your opponent up when they lean a little too far into unchecked drawbacks.
Both of them trained primarily Makashi (Form II) before their masters guided them into new styles befitting their individual dispositions. Akk'rai branched out into Ataru (Form IV), and Zilei branched into Soresu (Form III). Zilei ended up retaining Makashi as his go-to style for lightsaber duels, using his newfound flow to develop an almost nonchalant style of smooth, relaxed lightsaber combat. While Ataru became Akk'rai's main form, channeling that underlying restlessness into energy. Of course, things continue to change as they grow older, but that's beyond the scope of 'training' and more within 'life experience'. If you made it this far, thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed :D

saw a lot of TheAc. criticals post from angry/disappointed fans going around my dashboard these past few days -? tumblr algorythm when i catch you - whose recurring (and sometimes only) argument against it, is that Osha is OOC, (mostly starting from ep5) and would never have acted/done this kind of stuff to Sol, betraying the jedi, and mainly that [ep5 to 6] ruined the show.
and okay. okay. if you didnt like the turn and direction the show's taken, i understand, i have my beefs with other series/movies too, so here i'm only trying to share my own perspective on Osha's development, that some may have considered too 'sudden' and 'ooc',
and i completely get why others might see it differently and not be comfortable with it. their feelings are just as valid and legitimate.
but, her being out of character is something i just cannot quite 'accept', if only for the sake of 'rightful' criticism the show may have toward the end:
Osha [and by extension the Acolyte too, but this post is abt Osha] is a brand new character we just been introduced to for the very first time, no old reference, no comics, nothing. and that's something important to note, because in the 4 episodes we had before the 'infamous' ep5, the most we got on Osha's characterization was very 'scarce' in reality, and not really 'set in stone' by the narrative
( contrary to Anakin skywalker, for example: notice the stark difference between how they portrayed him in the 3 prequels movies, and the Clone wars cartoon - 2008. Here, we had 3 long ass movies to get used to Anakin's character, his story, his relationship with Obi Wan and Padme, and how his fall played out, and it was credible. What wasn't though, (beside the fact the cartoon did some blatant damage to how people now view Anidala and Anakin - cough cough sorry cough cough it was my first otp -) was that they heard some..fans didnt like the not 'virile' enough Anakin from AotC/Rots and thought, well, lets take the worst of him in the movie, all his flaws, his dark emotions, and lets mix it to give the fans some kind of jock/popular-aligned/macho-light w/ anger issues/possessive of his girl/action stoic/terminator hero, and nevermind the characterization already etablished by the 3 movies.!)
so, back to Osha in the first 4 eps:
first, from her interaction with her meknek 'bud', Fillik. She's friendly enough - not that much, she didnt went out with her crew/ nor she wanted to share her doings with him (yeah, you can put that on her preferring her privacy/but also: her Jedi's teachings! it did take roots in her very being, her mind and consequently her everyday's life after!), but she knows how to level the mood, and doesnt hesitate to go toward something ..dangerous, if it need to be repared, even if this something is trauma related, like fire...(mmmh. im not saying it's forshadowing, but it was without doubt the first indication that she wasnt at peace with her past - and vice versa, that she's have to confront it)
second, from Yord. it's the first figure from her 'second' past life we/she see. She's a little playful, teasing him, not even a little wary when she sees him again after all this time, and most importantly she seems to trust him from the get go, thats why it hurts her that way! - and it matters, that it was him first, i think. Sol wouldnt have had the same - ah! - detachment, ironically as Yord. Yord, with whom she likely used to train with as a Padawan, and who didnt see her for 6 whole years after she left the Order. so for him to not trust immediately her words, her, it highlights from the start that the connection she had with the Jedi Order is no more, -at the very best holding on a veeery light thread- since she left it behind all these years ago; and even if in the 3 following episodes, Jecki, Sol, Yord (to some extent venestra) believe her, there's always this gap in the back of her/our mind, between her and the Order, that she cant seem to fill...
thirdly, from Sol. do i need to say more?? okay, i will only say that: blind trust. there's nothing this man could do to make Osha dislike him, or acting ill toward him, he held the truth, 'controlled - take this word with a grain of salt, when i say 'controlled', it holds no malicious intent from Sol, - the narrative, for years ! (and here im not saying he was a villain, i am not demonizing him nor am i saying he was an abusive piece of shit at ALL just so we're clear. ik my words may seem cold and harsh) but, indeed, Osha had no special reason to be mad at him, there was this parental/father figure she saw in him, replacing what she had lost on Brendok... ( but the savior hold as much weight to their relation me think.)
and lastly, from the twins/her coven's interactions, and how she (and we, watchers!) interpreted a lot of things 'wrong' because..povs !! To name just a few :
Osha is literally torturing the poor insect: Mae copying her and since Osha is the one calling her out on it, her sister is seen in a bad light by the viewer, since we identify a lot more with Osha, the 'light' twin
Osha getting mad at Mae for taking a sneekpeak at her drawingbook (she needs the space from her sister, who wont give it to her, who's becoming too much, too close, she needs to breathe alone, and it gives the impression that Osha is trapped, in some kind of 'prison')
Osha seeing her sister lighting it on fire just after locking her up, aaaand the fire expanding, fast (we dont see Mae panicking!!!) i'll admit, the show did a good fucking job at trolling us, into thinking Mae was some sort of... 'unhinged' and 'deranged' sister, who set the entire coven on fire 'just' to keep Osha : thats why i also cant get behind these 'ooc' accusations, because, as flawed as the writing might have gotten at some parts - and other things, but i wont dwelve on that here, the Acolyte was, from start to finish, headed in one direction, fully centered on Osha/Mae subversion arcs, and Osha ascension to the dark side: its all the emotional unbalance i mentioned above, in her interactions with Sol, Yord, her family, and how the serie choose to present us with Osha's version of the story first.
and finally, the fact everyone is throwing 'OOC' around to describe Osha's actions is, very mid 'critic' at best, and inherently contradicting the core message of the Acolyte, which is that everyone can do 'evil' and destructive acts in the name of what they may consider the greater good, whether they're justified or not (Sol/Mae parallels go hard in that sense), and inversely the most 'evil' character can be all in all, very honest -Qimir, even back in Khofar didnt really lie did he? - and vulnerable in his presentation: the revealing of his intention toward Osha etc etc..)
aaand im done i dont know if what i wrote made sense (i dont want to cringe so im not rereading this but know that if there're any typos or weird turn of phrase then its normal :)
#spent the last 2 days where i was on tumblr writing this and look its not perfect but im DONE with this post#the acolyte#osha aniseya#mae aniseya#sol the jedi#master sol#osha and mae#oshamir#since a lot of things critics have a problems with seemed to be rooted in Oshamir dynamics

Merge the Timestream AU.
This came about because the amazing @bitter-chocolate-stars muse for the AU idea Merging the TimeStream flew out and bit me. I would highly recommend reading it first, because it is awesome and I could not do it justice.
Now onto the madness.
It is a mission to a Force Temple, old enough that no one knows which side of the Force it was for (or if it was for a specific side). There were rumors that there was an ancient artifact that could change the tides of the War, so The 212th and the 501st were dispatched to get it before the Separatists.
Five people went into the final chamber to search(There was a description of the artifact in the temple. Only four words had been able to be translated-Past, Present, Future, and Knowledge): Obi Wan Kenobi, Anaking Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Commander Cody, and Captain Rex.
It was these five people who were caught by the artifact. Each of these five were split into three. The present version of themselves, a future version, and a past version.
I bet you all can see where this is going.
Obi Wan’s past version is from Melida/Daan, two days before Cerasi died. The future is Old Ben, coming directly from his own beheading on the Death Star.
Anakin’s past is nine year old Anakin, hours before he would meet Qui Gon Jinn and Padme Amidala for the first time. The future is Vader (I hope none of you are surprised), a month after he cut off Luke’s hand, and just after he fully realized that it meant his and Padme’s child had always lived.
Ahsoka’s past is three years old, just Found by Plo Koon. Her future is Rebels Era Ahsoka, aka Fulcrum, before she found out that Vader was Anakin.
Rex’s past was a physically four year old cadet, the only survivor of his batch (who were decommissioned because of their blonde hair mutation-Rex’s scores were so high that he was kept). The future is Old Rex, post Empire (I always headcanon that Rex survives to see the end of the Empire because of spite).
Cody’s past is ARC Trainer Cody, after the war had started but before he was assigned to be Obi Wan’s commander. His future had just deserted the Empire and doesn’t even know about the chips yet.
Frankly it likely would have been better if one or more of those people had arrived unconscious. Alas this was not to be.
Upon arriving, Little Ahsoka immediately started crying to the visible concern of both Cadet Rex and Child Anakin (both were concerned about punishment at the noise). Before anyone could even think to do anything, Vader pointed a dramatic finger at Old Ben and went ‘You’ and followed up with ‘Why didn’t you tell me my son lived?’
Old Ben caulked his head, ‘Even leaving aside I thought I had left you for dead for a decade, Darth, why would I trust you with your children after the march on the temple?’
Now Darth Vader rocked back on his heels, “Children?” and then a moment later “Leia Organa”
Old Ben sighed deeply, ‘Surely we can both agree that the fact you tortured your daughter does prove me right to keep them from you.’
‘I cut off Luke’s hand too’ Vader said absently
Old Ben just buried his face in his hands.
Now all of this was with the background tune of little Ahsoka still crying. Former padawan Obi Wan is the one who reaches her first, and picks her up, smoothly herding Cadet Rex and Child Anakin behind him, away from the adults in the room. Former Padawan Obi Wan is radiating a vicious, desperate protectiveness.
The movement caused Old Ben to look away from Vader at the rest of the room. His brow furrows. He looks back at Vader, “Do you remember this?”
Vader’s black mask turns to take in the rest of the room, his breath rasps somehow louder than the crying Ahsoka. At last he says ‘I do not’.
Post Empire Rex snorts and says, with an unimpressed deadpan ‘It is probably Force Shit’.
It takes another half hour to get any kind of semblance of calm and start to piece together what is going on. In spite of the fact that neither Old Ben, nor Vader want to admit who they are (for different reasons), no one in the room is actually stupid.
There is a moment when Rex is obligated to give Old Ben shit for the fact that he told Luke that Vader killed Anakin Skywalker, to which Ben responds ‘I was just passing on what he’ points at Vader, ‘told me’.
At another moment Fulcrum throws up her hands and shoes at Old Ben ‘I thought you were dead, again. Why didn’t you tell me you survived.’ Old Ben blinks at her, ‘Leaving aside I also thought you were dead, my dear, for the last decade I have had the single highest bounty in the empire’ Old Ben looks to Vader, who nods solemnly after a moment, ‘I would have thought that would be telling.’ Fulcrum actually pouts and mutters, ‘I thought that was a plan by the Rebellion to draw Vader’s attention.’
There is just…so much trauma in this room. Like it is possible that this group has the highest concentration of trauma in the entire galaxy.
Deserter Cody appears to be having multiple concurrent panic attacks, his face swinging between Old Ben and General Obi Wan almost constantly. Between the residual guilt of having his general shot at, the horror of the long held belief that Cody had caused Obi Wan’s death, the combination of relief and horror at the news of the chip in his head, the combination of relief and confusion at Old Ben (who is proof that Obi Wan Kenobi did not die on Utapau), the confusion of being confronted with two other versions of himself all culminates in the fact that Deserter Cody is going through some things.
ARC Trainer Cody is going through less, mainly horror at the chips. He is also very much a shiny as far as his reactions to the Jedi are concerned. He is confused at being transported from Kamino, and does not know if he was transported to the future or they were tanspote to the past. Frankly by all measures ARC trainer Cody is one of the most stable people in the room.
Current Cody is sure that his younger self should not meet any members of Ghost Company on the basis that he would never live it down. He is also facing the horror of the chips, confusion at the triplicatation that is going on. His horror is that much deeper than his younger self because he knows and cares for Obi Wan (Light CodyWan for the win). He is also quite worried for his older self.
Melida/Daan Obi Wan is still not sure if he is willing to let any of the adults in the room near the other children. He is also doing slightly better with the fact that he grows up to be a general then the fact that he went back to the Jedi. He is also very much a child soldier with all the trauma therein.
Old Ben is not sure if this would be his heaven or his hell. On the one hand he could feel in the Force that he was before Order 66, all the lives he had felt snuff out were alive and well. On the other hand, there were three Anakins in the room, at least one of which hated him. Also he thought getting beheaded would get him out of dealing with more Skywalker BS.
General Obi Wan Kenobi is more than a little horrified. His connection to the Unified Force means that he is perceiving echoes of Order 66 through the future counterparts AND the variety of trauma that exists in the younger counterparts simultaneously. In addition, both his younger self and Anakin’s younger self are each triggering unresolved trauma.
Padawan Commander Ahsoka Tano is staring at her older self in awe, when she was not staring at Vader in horror. She has also been herded to one corner of the room by Former Padawan Obi Wan, despite the fact that she is 16 to his 14.
Fulcrum makes the decision that she CANNOT deal with the Vader/Anakin revelation at this point and is blocking it out. Instead she is staring at Old Ben. And glancing at her younger self, wondering how much being Anakin’s padawan had damaged her view of the Order.
Little Ahsoka has calmed, now that she was securely held by a warmer than average Cadet Rex.
Post Empire Rex is so, so done. This was supposed to be retirement. Being dragged back to the clone wars is not retirement. It was nice to see Fulcrum again though.
Cadet Rex is the definition of stress. He is not sure what test is going on, nor who these new trainers were but he would not fail.
Captain Rex is not sure what to do with the proof that he would survive the war. Nor the fate of his general as he stares at the tall black clad being.
Darth Vader, in addition to all the issues he always carries, is looking at his younger self covetously. Had he had a way he would have tried to possess his younger self, who has everything he wants. At the same time he wants to sit this younger version down and tell him exactly how to avoid everything that Vader is (It should be noted that Vader has no idea how to avoid all that Vader is). He is also boiling angry at every version of Obi Wan, though distantly looks at the little angry version and wonders if this was a way to get his brother back. The knowledge of Luke’s survival is drawing him back toward the single selfless thing he has done in decades, but he is still very much a Sith.
Child Anakin is deeply confused and frankly ecstatic that he hasn’t blown up yet. It is very clear they are not on Tatooine and nowhere near Watto. He is also not impressed that he somehow escaped slavery only to become enslaved again (in his perception Vader is also chip controlled and thus enslaved).
General Anakin Skywalker is freaked out by Vader, who is radiating a weird greed at him, and also by the implications of everything the future people have said. He is also heartbroken over Palpatine being evil (even Vader agrees, in his own way, that Palpatine is evil). Everything strikes deep enough that Anakin actually decided he needed a therapist (There is something about the casual way that Vader talks about torturing Anakin and Padme’s children that cements that decision).
It turns out that the Artifact is the entire temple, so removing it is not feasible.
Like in the original idea, I am not sure if the past and future versions find themselves eventually returning to their own times, or if they are stuck in the present. Though there is something that is amusing about the Jedi now having to deal with three of each of these five people, one of which is a Sith. Particularly since Vader both wants to kill them all and wants to protect them all (to prevent Anakin’s Fall).
It does change so many things though.

Hello! Can I request a story? (Anakin Skywalker x gn!Reader?)
Can the Reader be Anakin's Padawan? Like recently, Ahsoka left the order and Anakin's sorta grieving over it Maybe the reader has recently lost their own Master so they're also upset about that. Reader has an big crush on Anakin and vice versa. but he's typical Ani and acts mean and scary. I dunno, i just liked the idea and saw you were taking requests. Sorry for grammatical mistakes. English isn't my first language <3 Thank you and have a good day!
A/N: Hello there Anon! I am so sorry about the wait. I am writing multiple stories atm and only just got around to this. Hope you like it<3 And let me know if you want a Part Two. I feel like I could possibly add some more to this story. -Ace
The World is a Cruel Place (PART ONE?)
(Anakin Skywalker x gn!reader)
Main Masterlist
Character Masterlist
Story Outline: Your previous Master was unexpectedly killed on the battlefield, and you find yourself with a new Master, who he himself has recently lost his own Padawan. Your new Master is cold towards you, and you fear that you may never get him to appreciate you as a Padawan. Until one day, you find out your very much mistaken.
Word Count: 2918 (basically 3000. . .)
Warning(s): Not proof read, so there is probably mistakes, Swearing, Anakin is a bully, ANGST-y?, MAKE OUT SCENE, maybe hair pulling kink?
It was one of those days at the Jedi Temple where nothing in particular was going on. Except for the fact that you were getting a new Master to complete your Padawan Training. It would have been a big deal to you if it weren’t for the fact your previous Master had recently been killed in front of you only a few days prior. So, you sat anxiously in the council room, awaiting Master Yoda’s decision on who would be your new Master.
The old Jedi was walking around in a circle in the decently-sized council room, stroking his chin and lost in thought. You watched him as he hobbled about, thinking about who he could possibly pick to be your next mentor. It wasn’t before long he stopped in his tracks and hummed to himself, which could only mean one thing.
“Perfect choice for you, I have thought of.” Yoda said cheerfully. You stood up abruptly from the seat you sat on prior. Yoda slowly walked over to you and grabbed both of your hands. “He too, lost a Padawan. Help each other recover, I know you can.” Your eyes widen at his words. A Jedi Master has lost a Padawan? Isn’t a Master supposed to protect their Padawan’s at all cost? Which Jedi Master could be so reckless? “Sense your conflict, I do. About your new Masters old Padawan, yes?” You nodded and looked away from the older Jedi. Yoda chuckled and let go of your hands before heading to the door. “Master Skywalker didn’t lose a Padawan to the Force, young one. His Padawan left the order, she did.” You silently gasped. Master Skywalker? As in, Anakin Skywalker? The famous Chosen One? Yoda once again chuckled and shook his head.
“Didn’t expect Skywalker to be your new mentor, no?”
“N-no, Master. I didn’t.” you stumbled on your words. Yoda reached the door and opened it, revealing the Jedi himself, and his own previous mentor.
“Master Kenobi and young Skywalker, glad to see you, I am.” Yoda announced. You examined the two jedi and gulped when your eyes met Anakin’s. Not only was he taller than you expected, but way more handsome than any holograms you’ve seen of him in interviews. You could feel your jaw slightly dropping open, but immediately clenched it when you noticed Anakin was examining you too.
“Master Yoda, we came here to announce the-”
“Master Kenobi, hear about the War later, I will. Right now, we will discuss young Skywalker’s new Padawan.” Yoda interrupted Obi-Wan mid sentence. You notice that both Jedi’s mouths dropped, but not as far as Anakin’s. His jaw practically fell onto the floor; and his eyes widened so much, you were positive they would pop out of his skull.
“New Padawan? But Master Yoda, I didn’t request-” Anakin began to argue but Yoda didn’t have any of it and hit his leg with his cane, to which Anakin winced at.
“Any complaints about this arrangement, not have, I will. You will train young L/N and ensure her success as a Jedi Knight. Then after her training, become a Jedi Master, you will.”
Anakin seemed to calm down a bit when he heard about his stepping up in ranks to become a Master Jedi. He once again looked at you but with an unreadable gaze. You attempted a small smile to perhaps change his cold demeanour, but he only scowled at you before looking away and re-focusing his attention at Yoda.
You shrugged at his attitude and assumed it had to do with his mission he just got back from. But boy, were you wrong.
+++
“Padawan, why are you late?”
You stood up straight from your slouching position and locked eyes with your new Master, Anakin Skywalker. You looked over to the wall at the entrance of the massive training room where a clock was displayed.
“Master, I am on time. Unless you count those-”
“You’re two minutes late, two minutes of valuable time that I could be training you to be better. Remember my rules, Padawan?” Your master interrupted to continue his rant, to which you rolled your eyes before replying.
“Every one minute late, equals-”
“-ten laps around the training room. So, at the end of our usual training, I expect you to stay afterwards and do your twenty laps. Then you are free to do whatever you want.”
You huffed. When you found out your new Master would be Anakin Skywalker, you thought your life was going to change. You were correct on that; but it wasn’t how you expected. Anakin was incredibly harsh on you and was always going all out on your training. You usually found yourself too exhausted to do anything in your free time, as you normally went to your chambers to have a nap.
The missions you went on were even worse!
Since Anakin Skywalker was a general for one of the biggest Clone Squads, you constantly found yourself on missions that were much more dangerous than the ones you and your previous master went on. People were constantly dying all around you and some deaths could've been easily prevented.
On top of that, the trauma from your previous master haunted you like a lost soul. Your nightmares about them got so bad that you often didn’t sleep at night in fear of having those dreams. An endless cycle of your master getting stabbed by Ventress over and over and over. And as previously mentioned, Anakin did nothing but make you dread things more.
“Padawan, you sure are in Lala Land today, aren’t you?” your thoughts were interrupted when you suddenly tripped and fell over, and met face to face with your Masters chest, to which he stumbled back from and nearly fell over too.
“Oh my! I am so sorry, Master. I didn’t-” you tried to apologise but he waved his hand in dismissal.
“Save it Padawan, I don’t need to hear your excuses. Just, please, try and focus or you’re wasting both of our time.” You nodded your head and began to practise sparring with your Master once more. But it wasn’t before long you once again were knocked from your feet and you fell flat on your back with two lightsabers pointed at your chest.
“What is it, Padawan? You’re usually not this bad.” Anakin said smugly with an evil smirk gracing his features. Oh how badly you wanted to punch the smirk off of it.
“Wow Master, you could at least ask me if everything is alright. Yet again, you never did care for me enough did you?” You said through gritted teeth. Anakin raised his brow at you before deactivating your sabre and handing it to you.
“I care for you, I just don’t frolic around and make you feel special like your previous Master. This is the real world; it’s not nice. So you need to grow up and get used to it.”
You just about exploded with tears right there and then. How dare he talk about your old Master like that? The one person who made sure you were standing here, alive and well today. You stood up abruptly from the ground and stormed out of the room, ignoring Anakin’s orders to return to him immediately.
Once you were a bit ways from the training room, that’s when you let your thoughts cloud your mind. How could such a beautiful man act like such an arse? You will admit, you had a massive crush on your Master. He was tall, handsome, and not to mention, fearless. He was very intimidating, which you loved.
When he first became your mentor, you fantasised about him nearly every night, which often led you to blushing madly when you were around him the next day. But you knew he would never like you the way you liked him. From how he presented himself as a Jedi, you knew he would never break the code for someone like you.
You sighed in frustration to where your thoughts were spiralling your mind into. You clenched your jaw tightly and began to pick up the pace to where your chambers laid.
Why do you like Anakin anyway? All he does all day is insult your technique, and how you could try better. You do try! You began to mumble angrily at yourself, and before long, you found yourself projecting each of your thoughts with no shame at all.
“How could he? That stupid. . .goodie-two-shoed Jedi–”
“Who are you cursing about?” a voice interrupted your small tantrum and you turned around quickly on your heels and noticed it was Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin’s previous Master. Oh, what joy.
“Oh, I’m sorry, Master Kenobi. . .I-I was just–”
“Is Anakin being difficult on you, Padawan?” He asked as he stepped closer to you so you could hear each other better.
You sighed heavily before nodding your head quickly.
“Y-yes, Master. But I think he’s sorta right on some things.” You sniffed and crossed your arms to hug yourself.
“Anakin says things he doesn’t mean sometimes. And, you also need to consider he also just lost one of his closest friends, Ahsoka Tano. He feels like he failed as a mentor. I’m not trying to say what he said was right; maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. But you need to try and be more–how do I put this. . .” He trailed off, stroking his beard as he thought of the correct word. You watched him for a moment before understanding what he was trying to get at.
“I think I understand what you are trying to say. Master Yoda was right, I think we could help each other get over the pain that was left from our past ‘partners.’ But, Master Kenobi, I am not sure how I can start being better for his standards. He thinks I’m weak and not capable of being a Jedi.”
Obi-Wan raises a brow at this and also crosses his arms.
“What makes you think that?”
You inhaled deeply before looking down at the floor.
“Well, he’s always. . .”
“I don’t think you’re incapable of being a Jedi.” A familiar voice interrupts your train of thought, to which you whip your head around and see the man himself that was causing all the problems.
“Hello, Anakin. I think you better make up with your Padawan. And y/n, I think you have some things to tell him too.” Obi-Wan said before nodding his head at the both of you and walking off down the hallways to wherever he was heading originally.
Anakin watched him for a moment before turning his attention back at you.
“Hello, y/n.”
You froze in place at his simple greeting. He has never called you by your real name before. It was either ‘padawan’ or no name at all.
“You called me by my name.” you said quietly, the corners of your mouth threatening to smile.
Anakin raised his brow. “And? Last I checked, it’s normal for someone to have a name. In fact, it would be abnormal to not have one.”
Your face dropped into a neutral one again. Of course he went back to square one where he acts like a complete arsehole for no reason at all.
“What’s the long face for? I didn’t say anything rude to you.”
You sighed, he was right. You were just overreacting over small things. Maybe you did need to grow up and start acting more mature.
“Nothing, just–ignore me. I am going to head to my chambers now, good-bye Anakin.” You began to walk past him but a hand reached out and grabbed you before you could go any further.
“I need to tell you something, but in a more private place. C’mon.” And with a harsh tug, he began to pull you towards wherever he wanted to go to ‘talk’.
“Hey, you can’t–”
You decided it was no use arguing, as his grip only tightened on you arm and you were now being dragged instead of guided. You noticed he was leading you to where all the Jedi Knights rooms laid. You eventually stopped at a door and you caught your breath.
“Um, where are we?” you asked your Master, to which you gained no reply. The door to the room opened and you got pulled into it.
“Hey, you can’t just drag people like that, I think you dislocated my-”
“Shut up!”
His voice started you and you flinched at it. You backed up towards the door and pressed yourself against it. Anakin watched you and followed your slow movement. You soon found yourself pressed against the door and Anakin’s broad chest. You inhaled quickly and tried to get past him.
“I have some things I need to tell you, y/n.” He whispered in your ear. Your breath hitched at the close distance between you and your Master. Isn’t this a bit inappropriate?
“Master Skywalker, please move back a bit. I can’t breathe.” you said, attempting to push him away. But to no avail, he only moved closer to you. You could feel his breath on your neck and you shivered. It was a similar scenario to all your dreams, only you were shoving Anakin against a wall. You felt heat begin to rise to your cheeks.
“Call me Anakin when it’s just you and me.” he said, and your ears perked at this new side of him. Your strict Master was asking you to call him by his first name? That’s a new one.
“What?”
“Anakin.” he simply replied. You rolled your eyes and exhaled heavily.
“No, I know what you said. But, why? It’s part of being a Padawan–” you were interrupted when he shoved you even further against the door and felt his lips brush against yours. At this point, you knew you were a blushing mess; all the butterflies in your stomach were now roaming freely, much to your dismay.
But nothing could compare to the shock you felt when Anakin’s lips met yours. The kiss was soft and passionate, and his lips moulded against yours perfectly; like you were always meant to be together. Then reality came crashing in: your Master was kissing you. All the warnings of the Jedi Council and the Codes filled your mind, to which you disconnected your lips from Anakin. You attempted to once again push him away, but you failed miserably. This man was like a mountain; unmovable.
“A-Anakin, we can’t. It goes against the Code of the Jedi.” Anakin ignored your pleas and began to kiss your cheek and jawline. You felt his hands move to your waist and goosebumps formed on your skin. What was he doing to you?
“Y/n, I don’t care what the Jedi Code says, or the council. It’s all nonsense.” At this point, his kisses were trailing from your jaw to your neck to which you inhaled sharply at the contact.
“A-Anakin. . .this isn’t right,” you tried to hold back a moan but failed when he began to softly suck and lick at the most sensitive part of your neck.
“Shh, don’t talk so much, y/n.”
His hands moved up to your back and he nestled his head into the crook of your neck and inhaled your scent. You moaned quietly when he began to bite at your collarbone.
“Anakin, please kiss me,” You finally gave in, to which he obliged. You felt his lips reconnect with yours once again and you sighed into it. Your hands soon found its way to his long hair and you buried it into his curls, tugging on it slightly. You heard him moan into the kiss and you smirked at it.
“Do you like that, Anakin?” You asked with a playful tone. Anakin nodded his head and continued to kiss you with more passion than before. You then decided to take matters into your own hands and turned him around a full 180 degrees. Now you were the one pinning him against the door.
“W-What are you doing, y/n?” Anakin stuttered, clearly flustered at how fast you took control.
“You have some explaining to do, Anakin.” You said with a harsh tone of voice. Anakin swallowed hard and looked down at the tiled floor of his chambers.
“I-I am in love with you, I think.” he said, barely above a whisper.
“Skywalker, that’s not an apology for how you treated me since I became your Padawan. Do you need me to tell you how to apologise?” You moved your hand into his hair and yanked it, to which Anakin cried out in pain. But you could tell he was enjoying it by the way his breathing had picked up.
“C’mon, Master, I’m waiting for a proper apology.”
“S-sorry, my dear Padawan for being an arse to you. Will you please forgive me and kiss me some more?”
You stared at his sapphire eyes and noticed how needy he looked. It was almost pathetic how your Master, the ‘Hero with no Fear’, was being an absolute child. You sighed heavily and an evil smirk crossed your face.
“No, I don’t think I will kiss you. A wise Jedi once told me the world was cruel and things don’t always go your way. But, I will forgive you, Master.”
Proud at how you used his own words against him, you unlocked the door to his room, and ran out; heading towards where your own chambers awaited.

I think Anakin cares about Obi-Wan and the Jedi as much as he is CAPABLE of caring about anybody. By which I mean, he will never care about Obi-Wan or the Jedi as much as he cares about HIMSELF and what HE wants and how HE feels. They will always, always, ALWAYS be second to that.
I think Anakin has a difficult relationship with the Jedi Council as an authoritative body and a difficult relationship with Obi-Wan as his master for similar reasons. Understandably, he comes into both of these relationships with certain biases from his background as well as the relatively recent rejection from the Council coloring his opinions. I think it forces a certain inferiority complex and distance in Anakin's relationship with them to some degree that he never quite gets over.
And we see this come up over and over again. He's "fine" with the Jedi right up until he isn't. My favorite example of this is Luminara during the Weapons Factory episode on Geonosis. For the first two thirds of that episode, Anakin and Luminara actually get along REALLY WELL. He has zero issues fighting alongside her, she expresses that she's missed working with him, they're FINE, they seem comfortable and friendly around each other and have a history with each other that is clearly positive. And then the padawans blow up the factory and Anakin and Luminara don't know if they made it out. Anakin goes to comfort Luminara and she responds with "Be at ease" which seems to immediately throw Anakin on the defensive. For the rest of the episode, he intentionally provokes Luminara (unsuccessfully), starts arguments with her, and even tries to throw her under the bus in front of her own padawan by claiming she'd given up. He likes Luminara and is willing to comfort her RIGHT UP UNTIL HE ISN'T. Right up until she says something more Jedi-like and he takes it as a personal insult and he then proceeds to be unkind to her without her even doing anything to earn it more than once. He's unwilling to meet her halfway or understand her perspective on it, he's JUST aggressive and arrogant. Anakin sees Luminara's calm and pragmatic approach to the situation as something of a personal condemnation when she never means it that way and all of that friendly demeanor he had before just... goes away. Because the way HE FEELS is more important than his relationship to Luminara.
So I think he LIKES the Jedi individually, I think he does care about the ones he considers friends, but his care is NOT unconditional, it comes with strings. He gives loyalty to people but he expects that same loyalty back, even when that's not something the Jedi can do for him, it's not something they've EVER been able to do for him and they would've been pretty clear about that (he's clearly aware of it when he recites the "attachment is forbidden" rule to Padme). So rather than leaving the Jedi to search out what he needs elsewhere, he just lets his resentment towards them grow and grow for years.
It's not helped by Palpatine intentionally stoking his resentment, of course, telling him that the Jedi act the way they do because they're jealous of him rather than because their culture is just... different. He encourages Anakin's arrogance and drives more and more of a wedge between them so even if Anakin from TPM COULD'VE ultimately figured it out and had a perfectly healthy relationship with the Jedi regardless of what kind of loyalty they offered him, he keeps getting offered a simpler path to take, and he keeps choosing that path instead of the one the Jedi try to show him. Anakin lets his resentment and arrogance grow, lets that distance between himself and the Jedi grow wider and wider until it becomes an insurmountable gulf.
I think Anakin does believe he cares about these people, and on some level he does, but that relationship is sort-of toxic from the beginning and we see that with the way he acts in AOTC and the way he acts towards people like Luminara and even Ahsoka and Obi-Wan in TCW. Anakin cares about people only so long as they play by his rules. He does the same to Padme pretty often when he demands she obey him because he's her husband and gets angry and punishes her when she refuses.
Anakin is capable of listening to the Jedi, capable of taking the occasional criticism, but he never actually learns from his mistakes, never takes the Jedi's advice. He listens, but he doesn't really hear anything. He retains nothing from it. It goes in one ear and out the other because he's CONVINCED that nothing the Jedi have to say to him is worth listening to unless it's praise because he's so super special that if they're criticizing him it's only because they're jealous.
Even in ROTS, when he is supposedly at his most mature (although it is also simultaneously his most unstable), he is throwing temper tantrums at the Council, he is showing favoritism and a lack of willingness to understand the Council's point of view. He can't see the similarities between the Council asking him to spy on someone they can prove is corrupt and Palpatine literally telling Anakin to be his eyes and ears on the Jedi Council. He condemns the Council for being unfair and cruel for asking him to spy on a friend, but sees zero problems with Palpatine giving him a promotion so he can pass on along sensitive information to him about the Jedi's leadership. Even when he apologizes to Obi-Wan, he isn't actually apologizing for believing the Council to be in the wrong about not making him a master or asking him to spy on Palpatine, he's mostly just apologizing for throwing a temper tantrum about it in front of the Council and humiliating Obi-Wan as a result. He STILL thinks the Council's wrong and Palpatine is right.
And personally I think that says everything you need to know about how Anakin ultimately views the Jedi. When it's the Jedi asking him to spy on Palpatine, it's asking him to betray a FRIEND, but when it's Palpatine asking him to spy on the Jedi, it's completely justified. This tells me that Anakin doesn't truly see the Jedi as his friends, as people he genuinely cares about. Anakin is friendly with them and I think he cares about them on a distant professional level, but that's really it. I think he's probably CONVINCED himself it's more, that he sees them as friends or even family, but his reaction to the two requests in this film show us the truth, one Anakin himself may not be willing to acknowledge.
And it's clear by ROTS that the Jedi are aware that Anakin has a close relationship with Palpatine. It's not something Anakin tries to hide necessarily, he gets into a dick measuring contest with Tarkin over who is Palpatine's favorite in season 3 of TCW, so it's not exactly shocking that Obi-Wan might reasonably be worried that Anakin may say something to Palpatine about the Rako Hardeen mission if he was in on it. I do think Obi-Wan probably had more than one reason for the choices he made. Anakin is better at acting and lying in TCW than he is in the films, but if we assume he's supposed to be someone who is notoriously lacking in subtlety and bad at keeping secrets and wears his heart on his sleeve, Obi-Wan is probably ENTIRELY RIGHT that if Anakin had known Obi-Wan was alive, he would've given away the truth to anyone with eyes even if he DIDN'T say anything. So it may be less about Obi-Wan worrying Anakin might specifically spill the beans to Palpatine and more of a general worry that Anakin isn't a good enough actor to pull off the reaction they'd need in order to convince the galaxy that Obi-Wan was dead, which would blow the entire thing and put Palpatine's life at risk (which, even if none of the Jedi LIKE Palpatine, he's still the leader of the Republic and they haven't quite gotten to the point where they're ready and willing to kill him in order to remove him from office, so they'd rightfully see the death of the Chancellor as something that could easily cause enough chaos to lose them the war). It could also be a combination of both of these things, Anakin's close relationship with Palpatine AND his bad acting skills.
So yeah, Anakin does care about the Jedi, but his care comes with strings, and he doesn't care about them enough not to murder them all when it benefits him to do so, so his care doesn't really amount to much in the end.
