i wonder what their accents are meant to convey
#liveblogging#series: arcane#ep: 1.2#rank perhaps?#like the ppl with english accents so far are all either leaders of their community and/or upper class#i cant distinguish specific regions very well cause im not from these places so my knowledge is limited but even that seems to be a factor#vander's and the male enforcer leader's accent seems to be some kind of middle-class english accent based on what i know#no idea of the region tho#the kirammans accents are incredibly posh and while theyre not the richest ppl in piltover theyre undeniably upper class#its also the accent that gets associated with english ppl (esp royalty and the like) in media quite often#and the kind that ppl usually try to imitate when asked to do an english accent#which in my mind is contextually important considering theyre actually born in piltover#unlike mel and heimerdinger who have more of a londoners(?) accent#neither of whom were born in piltover and also have supremely high positions in the governing body#which is where the royalty of england is located; where a lot of media focus regarding england is located#where the most diverse population in england is; and where there tends to be a lot of tourists; travellers; and other ephemeral populations#silko hasnt shown up much yet so i'll edit this later when i hear more of him#i cant really distinguish any particular regional american accent so far but regardless theyve all been more average rank#followers or at the very least of a lower rank than the ppl with english accents#viktor i think was meant to feel ''other'' and perhaps even mysterious with his slavic accent#im not entirely sure what the female enforcer's accent is esp with how raspy her voice is#but it might be british of some kind????? not entirely sure#mmm idk i need more samples im still less than halfway through ep 2 lol#edit: oh silkos accent is a londoners; interesting but also it makes sense considering he more or less runs zaun#or the undercity rather; i keep forgetting they dont call it zaun lol

heyo, its been a long time since i did an analysis!! this time on a more controversial subject: Rook Blonko. And how I think he was robbed.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/714aa9a74d7278f1da7d1e5a1b4f6439/e1a6e8a844333fdf-dc/s540x810/7fb60fe0b979e9ef08cbc9466ee872b3eff0cc58.webp)
When you actually look at the way Rook is written in omniverse, they dont give him very much to work with. like revvonaganders and their culture are cool, but rook feels so underdeveloped as a person outside of his culture. hes kind of a gwen in a way; hes got bare minimum flaws but he's treated like hes in the right when hes doing something actually flawed. hes never condemned for treating ben the way he does and he doesnt even have a consistent arc. he doesnt feel like a teenager, he doesnt feel like he has any sort of character progression, hes just kinda there, and his lack of depth in character-to-character situations is only amplified by the lack of holding him accountable for negative traits he possesses, instead punishing ben or ignoring the behavior. Instead of writing a scenario where Rook is in the right and ben is in the wrong, or showing rook behaving poorly and have him learn from his actions, i can hardly think of a time where rook was shown to be wrong for his treatment of ben.
For example in a scenario where Ben is keeping personal information from Ben, and rook wants to know it for the sake of their partnership, instead of portraying Ben in the wrong properly by showing his keeping of said information being harmful to the public or his friendship to rook, or have the information be personally important to rook making Ben's keeping of it harmful, instead rook has scoured Ben's file for all information and is asking about something that is of no matter to him entirely because he doesn't know it. He pesters Ben incessantly even when Ben has told him firmly no. Tjis is a recurring issue, where it seems like the story wants rook to be right but is ignoring context and the way he goes about it.
This would be an aggravating issue but ignorable if rook had anything resembling a consistent arc, but he doesn't. the conflict of rook idolizing ben and meeting him and realizing hes not what rook thought he was is interesting, but its always treated as if bens in the wrong for not living up to rooks expectations. rook overstepping his boundaries with ben due to being a huge fan and maybe cultural differences is interesting, but its never portrayed as a flaw on rooks end, more like bens fault for keeping the information. his struggle with his culture and staying connected with it, his conflict with his father about his career path, his relationships to his siblings, him slowly watching revvonah be plundered for its resources as the series goes on, i love that, thats genuinely interesting. but they never talk about it outside of those episodes. rook is in the wrong often and it brings up a lot of interesting questions about him as a person, but they dont talk about that in favor of treating him as bens babysitter, or setting up a joke where ben is the punchline.
It's disappointing to me that rook was never given the attention he deserved. Like i said, there's a lot of good stuff in his framework that's just begging to be explored, but his lack of an arc makes him feel so one note after a while and really dampens his relationship with ben. Since rook is not a character on the same level as ben, he feels less like an equal like they tried to illustrate and more of a plot device. They even threw away the most interesting conflict between ben and rook; rook being book smart and ben being street smart, experience over training. Ben and Rook hardly ever have issues based on this other than rook misunderstanding a joke. This is why rook and ben feel like such a flat relationship to me.
all of this to say: rook fans. Please, for the love of god, work your magic. He's got all the pieces there, and i am certain you can do something special in fanworks about him. Don't let the show being lackluster hold you down.

I just had to let this out: I was lurking on Elriel edits on tiktok and saw lot's of comments on why people prefer Elucien or Gwynriel and it's always one of the following reasons: it's too predictable, 3 sisters and 3 brothers, Elain doesn't deserve Az or can't handle his darkness. Always one of these.
Like they don't even bother to list as to why they want their own ship or have solid reasons aside from how they don't like Elriel so they like another.
It almost sounds like: Elriel isn't good so I want ... or ... ship.
It's amazing how most like/want their own ship because of their dislike for Elain/Elriel.
I can't wait for her book to come out so that Sjm can prove how all had been wrongly judging Elain's power and personality ā¤ļø. How she has an amazing strength and is beautiful inside and out. How she is strong enough to handle Azriel's darkness, altough I think the main reason Azriel wants to be around Elain is because he admires and loves her light/her peacefulness.
I also want more to realize that Azriel has this domestic side which longs for the peace and quiet that Elain can offer in relationship. Them sitting in the garden and her baking bread while he taking it from her like the husband of the house. These are already shown to us. I just hate how people ignore that some couple are like this and if that is boring and predictable to you then maybe read some mystery romances that are less predictable as to who will end up with who š¬.
Elriel is so beautiful and underrated within the fandom that it hurts š¤§
They are all thropes together. Opposite attract yet also very similar to each other, forbidden love and pining/yearning, dark and light/ moody and sunshine, friends to lovers and maybe also love at first sight since we don't know much about their POV yet and to when exactly the attraction started. And I can go on and on
Hey anon š«¶
Saying elriel is too predictable is so funny because thats the point. Youāve successfully managed to pick up the foreshadowing Sjm was laying out, Nessian were predictable and obvious yet no one cared as much. 3 sisters x 3 brothers is literally fate and seems predestined which is the whole point of the acotar series. Idk I just think if you really hate the direction the series is going in you can always dnf instead of criticising it. It is a book from the fantasy genre which is often filled with cliches or repetitive plots. Im not even going to argue w Elain not being able to handle Azriels darkness- those antis just coddle elain and treat her as some oblivious child.
Most antis only ship Ga/El bcs they just dont like elriel. With the other ships theyāre so undeveloped that you can shape them to be however you want which is 10x more favourable.
YES! I canāt wait for Elains book to change so many peoples minds about her and show how much of a beautiful strong character she is in her own way, a different kind of strength. Im hopinh Elains character makes more people opem to softer coded fmcs. I agree, Elain seems to offer Az peace and quiet. Two people that can just exist together, understanding and truly seeing the other the way no one else has. She isnāt afraid of Azriel, his powers or scars and he didnāt back down and act as though she was crazy during acowar. Theyāre not afriad of each other. I truly love how Mass wrote them to be & cant wait for her to explore them more. Azrielās domestic side always comes out with Elain and its just the cutest watching the big, scary shadowsinger blush bcs of Elain, taking her out, flying with her etc.
Elriel truly have the best tropes, and I know more people would like them if Lucien wasnāt Elains mate or Elain was more Nesta/Gwyn coded which sucks but these same people will read the elriel book and maybe change their mind - and see the amazing couple they were missing out on for years š¤
I think thats one thing im really intrigued to know - Elain and Azriels first impressions. What was going through Azriels mind when he smiled at Elain clutching her fork. What did Elain see in Az that put her at ease and made her ask him questions. Thereās so much backstory for elriel that I hope Mass writes and gives to us.

please tell me which pokemon each of the DS9 crew would have?
please enjoy this absolute novel of a post <3
I gave everyone what Pokemon I think they would have and the amount of Pokemon I think they would have- I dont think anyone on DS9 has a full team of 6, most of them only have 1 - 2 in my mind's eye, and ill also be giving my reasoning for each choice
Sisko-
Gothitelle: I think Gothitelle compliments everything Sisko has going on with the Prophets, since it's a Pokemon that sees time and memory differently than humans do. I think a Gothitelle could help Sisko with the visions he gets, with processing them and interpreting them. I also think Gothitelle would be helpful to Sisko with processing and grieving and dealing with his trauma
Kabutops: Sisko inherits this one from his father I think. I think a fossil Pokemon fits how he can get stuck in the past, and Kabutops specifically can also represent that vicious, angry side Sisko shows at times when things get truly desperate and dark. but Kabutops is also a Rock type, and what is Sisko if not a rock that his crew and family so often look to in their darkest hours?
Kira-
Ceruledge: I imagine a young, resistance fighter Kira teaming up with a Charcadet- something small and quick, just like her. growing up alongside it, and it evolving into a Ceruledge, a fierce and fiery warrior to match her. I think the typing, Fire/Ghost, suits something that comes out of the Bajoran resistance- wild and angry, but haunted, and dark
Jadzia-
Gallade: I dont think there's a better type combo possible for Jadzia than Psychic/Fighting, and of the limited options I think Gallade is best both for how strong it is and even just design wise. very easy to imagine Jadzia sparring with a Gallade, matching its blades with her bat'leth. this is absolutely one where she raised this Gallade from a Ralts, and I think there would've been a lot of thinking over which form to evolve it to, with her ultimately evolving it to a Gallade after being Joined with Dax, with how important Klingon culture became to her
Kingdra: I dont know how to explain my choice for this one it just came to me in a vision. I think both the Water and Dragon types also suit Jadzia, I could've picked any number of Dragon types for her, but Kingdra just spoke to me as I was looking at it. I think it suits her for the strength and speed it has, while also being a majestic and prestigious Dragon type, acknowledging her for the queen that she is
Julian-
Eevee: he's had this Eevee since he was a small child and he's never had it evolve. it's never shown any interest in evolving, and he doesnt pressure it, and will be supportive if it ever decides to evolve. this Eevee is very affectionate and cuddly, and always offers comfort to Julian's patients, and would be his constant companion, usually perched on his shoulder. ive had this hc in mind for a while that he would have an unevolved Eevee, which I imagine would've been a gift from his parents when he was young, and which helps him deal with all his trauma over being augmented by being something he can save. he couldnt stop his parents from doing what they did to him, but he was able to save his Eevee, and give it the freedom and choices he never had
Delibird: where most medical professionals have Pokemon like Chansey and Audino, Julian has a Delibird. Delibird is silly and whimsical, and offers humour and joy to patients, while also being capable of healing. if we borrow from the Pokemon world that Nurse Joys are paired with Chanseys, I think when the time came for Julian to be paired, he instead went with this goofy ass Delibird who was loud and silly and tended to annoy other medical students, but was always a hit with the kids
Absol: I think he would acquire an Absol during the run of the series, sometime after Camp 371. a Pokemon that can sense incoming danger would be incredibly helpful for a doctor in particular, especially planetside and during missions. I think the Dark typing as well as the more intimidating, battle-ready design would serve well in representing Julian's arc into darker territory towards the end of the series, and it would be his only Pokemon that would be capable of true battling if needed
Miles-
Metang: I cant see Miles having a Metagross but Metang seems like it was made for him. a partner that's been with him for a long time I imagine, helping him out on the job as needed, but also able to do work of its own since its been doing this for a while. Steel type is just perfect for Miles, and I think Metang captures that really well, with its design complimenting Miles' work and its Psychic typing giving it that higher intelligence to have it be an independent engineer in its own right
Bastiodon: this is another partner I think Miles would've had for a while, and this Bastiodon is what I imagine at his side when he was fighting Cardassians, and when he fights the Dominion. I think a Bastiodon physically represents Miles' desire to protect, as well as how he'll be a battering ram when needed, all brute force and no delicacy. the safest place in the universe for Miles' children is in his arms, and the second safest place is with this Bastiodon, who often lays down for long naps with Molly curled up with it
Elekid: this is a whole scenario hc- the crew finds a Pokemon egg thats been left behind by the Cardassians and it hatches into an Elekid that immediately imprints on Miles. its his little buddy assistant who hands him tools and powers stuff up for him to run tests. he complained endlessly about it for 3 days and then got so attached that he'll kill anyone who looks at it wrong. this Elekid loves Keiko so much and hides behind her when its scared, is best friends with Molly, and it loves Yoshi more than anything else in the universe
Odo-
Ditto: you know I have to give Odo a Ditto. and you know this Ditto has to have trouble with faces, and Odo feels deeply connected to it as a result. this Ditto has imprinted on Odo so hard and copied his personality so its a very gruff Ditto that does great impressions of Odo and is uncannily like him. it has a vendetta against Quark and all of Quark's Pokemon and tries to fight them constantly
Quark-
Gimmighoul: money man gets the money Pokemon. this Gimmighoul is to Quark what Odo's Ditto is to him- it acts very similarly to Quark, is always scheming, and has a greedy streak to rival his. this little guy will scuttle around the bar and collect loose slips and chips, and keeps its stash mostly in its chest, which it shares a cut of with Quark. this little guy's design, money-obsession, and size and sneak factor make it just the perfect partner for Quark, because I think theyre best friends but also they butt heads constantly and argue over who gets what money. this Pokemon knows capitalism and it is WINNING
Porygon-Z: might seem like an odd choice, but I was debating over Pokemon that would serve different purposes for Quark, and I realized how multi-versatile Porygon-Z could be and then some lore ideas came to me. im thinking Quark may have gotten this Porygon-Z as a Porygon, when he first arrived on DS9, and its been with him all these years. this Porygon-Z goes in and out of the computer, accessing and taking in databases for Quark's use. it can also be a translator for other Pokemon and other species alike. Quark gets most of his information from this Porygon-Z. Odo absolutely hates it and it has a very intense rivalry with Odo's Ditto
Zubat: Quark's ears around the station, which reports back to him constantly. station inhabitants know to watch what they say when they spot a Zubat in their area, but visitors? not so much. Zubat is small, and sneaky, and has unmatched hearing. its also a slippery little bugger, much like its owner, except when this guy shrieks and squeals it tends to leave people disoriented and confused, letting it slip away and go flying back with its tails tucked. it also has a nasty bite, though nobody has ever been able to prove it was Quark's Zubat that bit them- I imagine DS9 would have a Zubat problem, dont ask me how thats possible in space its just the Vibes
Worf-
Emboar: while Fighting is obviously a great type match up for Worf, I knew it couldnt be as simple as just any Fighting type. I went through a lot of ideas before deciding on Emboar, with its design reminding me of Klingon Targs and Worf having had one as a childhood pet, while also being a massive, bulky, insanely strong Pokemon that could keep up in combat. much like Jadzia and Gallade, I can imagine Worf sparring with this Emboar, with this Emboar physically presenting the fire that burns in Worf at all times
Aegislash: hear me out on this one cause I know its strange. I wanted a Pokemon for Worf to represent the blade, and the Klingon culture, and I think Aegislash fits this both for being a literal blade, but also for its Ghost typing. Worf is in many ways haunted by his own culture, how disconnected he is from it due to being raised by Humans. I think Aegislash is as much a bat'leth as it is a representation of his own heritage following him like a ghost, the shadow of what he could have been always lingering
(I do also think Worf would take in Jadzia's Gallade after her death)
Ezri-
Sylveon: for someone as anxious and neurotic as Ezri, I think a partner like a Sylveon would be best, while also being a great help to her as a counsellor. Sylveon is a highly empathetic Pokemon much like its owner, and is a great help and comfort to her patients, while also being a great help and comfort to Ezri herself. Ezri adopted an Eevee while going through training in the Academy, and it very quickly evolved into a Sylveon imo
Kingdra: inherited from Jadzia. at first the two clash horribly, as Kingdra is angry and mourning, and Ezri agreed to take it in out of guilt. eventually they manage to come together, and they form a very tight bond, offering comfort to each other as they navigate the ghosts in their lives, and this strange position theyre both in
Jake-
Gumshoos: I think a Yungoos stowaway on the station would be Jake's first caught Pokemon, and would evolve eventually into Gumshoos as it grows up with Jake. a scrappy Yungoos in the beginning that follows Jake around and gets into trouble with him, and as it grows older and evolves it investigates with him, sneaks around for him to gather information, and is his right-hand man in journalism. this Gumshoos is viciously protective of Jake, and it and Sisko get along really well, and Sisko trusts it implicitly. I figured a detective-type Pokemon would be a fun match for Jake, especially one that could mature with him
Brionne: this Brionne was belonged to Jennifer. Sisko of course cared for it after her passing, but the Brionne was very attached to Jake, so Sisko gave over ownership once Jake was old enough to care for a Pokemon himself. I wish we had more of Jennifer to go off of in canon, but with how connected the Sisko family is to water and the importance of that meeting of Benjamin and Jennifer on the beach, I think a Brionne makes a good choice for a Pokemon that she would've had, and which would make a good match for Jake. Brionne is silly and fun, with a cheerful disposition, and from what we see of Jennifer I think a Primarina would've suited her, but perhaps Brionne never got to evolve to that point and after losing its owner, doesnt want to evolve anymore
and of course, bonus recurring characters...
Rom-
Timburr: I think Rom doesnt have a Pokemon for the longest time, having not had any as a child and then being too busy trying to raise Nog as an adult to worry about Pokemon. I think he acquires a Timburr on the station, secretly rescuing it back when it was occupied by Cardassians, and its stayed with him ever since. this Timburr is his assistant, and much like him, is timid but well-meaning. this Timburr loves Nog dearly, and the only time it gets violent is if it feels Nog is in danger
Nog-
Golisopod: another scenario hc, I think Quark gets cheated with an egg that hatches into a Wimpod, and not wanting to deal with it he pawns it off on Nog to deal with. Nog resents it at first, but comes to care a lot for the Wimpod, seeing himself in it as a trouble kid being bullied all the time. as Nog grows and matures, his Wimpod grows with him, and while Nog might not grow up to be big and strong, his Wimpod sure does evolve into a massive and imposing Golisopod. Golisopod is considered an odd choice for a future captain, but since Nog is anything but a typical captain, the two make an excellent match
Garak-
Kecleon: I did consider Zoroark for Garak's partner, but ultimately Kecleon won me over with its camouflage-based stealth and lizard design. Garak's Kecleon could also represent the Regnar he kept in secret through his schooling, Mila, if he got to keep her. Kecleon's camouflage is invaluable to him in keeping tabs on the station, and his Kecleon acts very much like him, being elusive, mysterious, and largely unknown. I think most people wouldnt even know Garak had a Kecleon, with Julian being one of the few who's even seen it, lurking about in Garak's shop
Keiko-
Roserade: my botanist queen of course had to have a Pokemon that would be a helpful research assistant, and what better than a Roserade? I went through several flower Pokemon before deciding on Roserade, for being one of the stronger and more combat-able ones, for someone like Keiko who isnt afraid to stand up for herself. I think she never had a Pokemon of her own as a grown up, maybe leaving any childhood ones with her family on Earth when she Joined Starfleet, until she started dating Miles who gifted her with a Budew, which is now her Roserade
#star trek: ds9#pokemon#what a combo of tags#im not tagging everyone rn sorry im so tired#ive been writing this post for like 2 hours#again I am so insane about Pokemon that I had already thought about this exact question a lot#hope you enjoy this gotdamn ENCYCLOPEDIA I truly have no chill#longtime followers will remember when I did this for MASH#twice

this feels really odd to ask but but what do you think the hunting dogs' thoughts are about death? specifically if they die and how? cause I feel like all of them share a variation of "I will go down guns blazing and with glory"
fukuchi definitely feels it and I feel like jouno as well. they've both had rough and violent lives so I feel like they've always thought death was just right around the corner.
I don't know about the rest of them though. teruko I feel shares the thought but not as intense as the other two, and I dont know about tecchou and tachihara.
anyway. it's a neat thought to me :3
ohhh iāve been thinking of the best way to answer this for DAYS. this analysis will be long so ill put it under a readmore.
the hunting dogs and death - analysis
overall, it is shown that they can die. i assume due to their abilities and bodily enhancements that they do not die of injuries very easily. it makes me wonder how disease hits them? partially mechanical bodies may not respond to illness as well as natural bodies would? or maybe the opposite and they can heal more so internally? anyways here's my thoughts on how each hunting dog perceives dying!!
fukuchi
i see fukuchi as fairly self-preserving up until the end. he can't die in battle because he needs to make sure the decay of angels plot carries out.
remember that he was warned of this at nine years old. he had to spend his life preparing for this. he likely grew very wary of living recklessly and became great at fighting very fast and young; i assume that's why he went through dojos to fight as a child.
under no circumstances could he die until the world was safe.
i imagine he put on a selfless face and was willing to take serious harm in order to protect the peace, but i highly doubt he was ever willing to sacrifice his life until his plan worked out.
here we see his thought process and how things need to fall into place. his participation was essential because in no other situation would fukuzawa be the one able to get access to the one order. if fukuchi had died beforehand, the war would play out as the amenogozen warning claimed.
he had to leave the world to fukuzawa, the man he could trust most before facing his own demise.
of course, at this point in the series he has been killed since that was the final goal of his plan. a noble death for a fantastic hero.

jouno
im actually a little conflicted on his perception of death. i believe jouno is willing to sacrifice his life if absolutely necessary but is probably more self-preserving than the others. i believe he likely uses his confident and slightly arrogant attitude to hide this self-preserving mindset. someone who comes off as intimidating or nonchalant during battle is more likely to throw off the enemy whereas appearing nervous or angry will make them seem vulnerable. i believe jouno also sees himself as very strategic and able to get out of situations easily if needed. he's a quick thinker from what we've seen thus far.
lets look at when he confronted fukuchi.
he starts off very confidently accepting the offer. we know this is a facade but him immediately trying to throw fukuchi off guard seems so show he's pretty confident in his next move.
but when this doesn't work, he immediately tries to flee. this is fairly unique for a fight in bsd, many characters will often fight until they either get what they wish or they're too injured to move. despite jouno having an ability that could dodge fukuchi's, he still chose to try and escape instead of continuing to fight. this is a very normal human reaction to have but not one you see as often.
and at a disturbance, he begins to panic and needs to ground himself by reassuring himself instead of fighting back. he's not willing to put his life on the line to stop a global terrorism and his own escape is seen as a victory, which i see as him being more self-preserving. this all took place before the sword was set on fire, so it wasn't as if he had that threat to escape yet.
however, there's a chance he just didn't know how to fight the amenogozen; but his ability was definitely one of the best to fight against fukuchi with.
still, he's smart and made sure to plan adequately in case he was injured in the battle against fukuchi. he wants to keep himself safe, but he's still smart enough to take precaution.
i think jouno has probably been through a lot in his life and wants to spend a while living happily, making him more afraid to die than the others. this is even shown when he took teruko being angry as a threat while fukuchi laughed over it.
(as a small note, fukuchi's line in the anime was "haha. it seems our gremlin is angry today" which makes more sense in this context).
so tldr i think jouno would only go down if absolutely necessary and otherwise is fairly self-prioritizing.
tecchou
i believe tecchou would sacrifice himself if it brings justice.
however, he seems to see himself as one responsible for judgement, so i imagine he gives every single fight his all.
regardless of him acting as judgement, it's been shown that tecchou is willing to die if he fails at his work.
here he promises that if he were to fail he would commit seppuku (killing oneself via slicing through your stomach--an honourable death for a samurai fighter (which lines up with irl tetchou coming from samurai lineage)), which is an incredibly agonizing way to die. regardless, he is fully willing to do it if it is for peace. this shows a confidence in death and commitment to his sense of justice to an extreme manner.
and when he found himself in a situation where he was in the wrong, he immediately admitted defeat and asked his opponent to kill him.
he admits defeat, says his wrongs and is willing to accept the consequences.
he even jumps to the harsh conclusion that he isn't worthy of his title as a hunting dog. the stark white in his eyes show that his mind isn't corrupted and that he is doing what he believes is proper justice. incredibly noble.
luckily he was spared-and likely learned a lot about justice not always being as black and white as things appear.
overall, tecchou is a very noble fighter and is willing to put his life on the line for justice. he doesn't seem to fear death and will embrace it if he feels it is earned or deserved.
tachihara
i have less to say about tachihara than the others. i see him as the type that will go down over what's right and that's shown during his fight with fukuchi.
he isn't willing to fear death or beg for forgiveness. he will go down if it is worthy.
we also see that he keeps a argumentative spirit towards the enemy despite the circumstances. he will put down his opponent even in the moment of death, he just has the confidence to.
this panel also shows that he's more willing to die than to be defeated. he doesn't want to harm anyone and be controlled so he tries to kill himself first.
overall, he's a strong fighter who isn't afraid to sacrifice his life for what he believes in. his orders make him who he is, and if the orders are to win he either will or he will die trying.
(of course that last part doesn't really count when he was posing as a mafioso because he couldn't blow his cover by easily surviving everything).
teruko
much like tachihara, teruko seems to be very willing to put herself on the line to keep people safe. this is shown almost immediately in her introduction.
if ordered, she is willing to die. she's incredibly dedicated to her job and would go down if it saves people.
she's willing to go to drastic measures to keep herself alive as well, destroying her eardrum and continuing to try and fight sigma despite being under the directed resonance guns (which were made to destroy people like her). she didn't run, and she did absolutely everything she could have done in order to win.
she seems to also pride herself in fighting and being hurt in battle, likely to show her resilience and ability to do whatever it takes if it saves people.
she even goes on to call the hunting dogs "society's servants" and refers to the enhancement surgeries as "searing order into their own bodies."
this immense dedication makes me strongly believe that she would have no problem sacrificing herself if it is for the best. she killed fukuchi despite really caring for him, so i can see her being willing to put herself into that situation as well.
tysm for the question!!!!! this was super fun to read through the scenes again and try to piece together a logical guess on them all.

I just did my annual rewatch of Stars Align aka Hoshiai No Sora and now I once again have too many thoughts. Anyone seeing this is now the victim.
So basically this post is gonna be a long post explaining a tierlist I made for the kids and how they were effected by their parent/s. I made the tierlist at like 3am this morning and immediately passed out while working through my thought processes
OTHER PEOPLE ARE WELCOME TO READ MY RAMBLES TOO IT'S PRETTY ACCESSIBLE BC I EXPLAIN EVERYTHING
So I'm actually going to go from the bottom and work my way up bc I have so many more uncoordinated thoughts about Touma, Tsubasa, and Nao than anyone else.
RINTARO His adoptive parents have done everything right, he and they are delights. his main issue is the FACT that he's adopted. he feels like there's something inherently wrong with him that caused his birth parents to not want him. at the end of the series his birth mother gets ahold of his adoptive parents and wants to meet him, its assumed she shows up at the tournament but leaves before he can catch up to her, making him believe that because he lost his match she doesn't think he's worth even meeting. And yea I'm with the theory that he's Touma's twin and that makes his mom Rintaro's mom and boy would that fuck him up even more and I so wish we could've gotten our original 24 episodes. Overall his ACTUAL parents that he grew up with and currently have did not cause his problems so 10/10 love them sm
Arashi + Class Pres They are rich kids and though we dont see them being effected by this very much i assume they are negatively effected but overall their parents are probably okay
TAIYO Very soft spoken and probably would roll over and die if a bully or mugger approached him. His parents, while very well-meaning, dote on him in a way that probably killed any kind of confidence he had. "It's okay if you dont win" WOULD be good parent words, but they were followed up with "tennis is a two person sport, so its not your fault if your partner messes up" Taiyo actually scolds them for this which made me really happy, as by saying this not only are they making a dig at his friend and partner(who does not need anyone hurting him anymore goddamn), but also could be interpreted as if they do win then it could be all his partner and not him Overall 8/10 this boy just needs more confidence and screentime
ITSUKI He was hard to place because his parent situation has already been handled actually. he got todorokied as a kid. When he was a baby, his mother clearly suffered from some pretty hard postnatal depression, and possibly other stuff, and poured boiling water onto his back. this left him with some pretty horrific back scars that he actually doesn't mind but he clearly doesn't like talking about it, as shown in the show by him not changing in the club room until about halfway through the show, after he'd already known the MC Maki for a while. He's shown to have a very easy trigger to violence however when people belittle his homelife. Without even knowing about his mother, some bullies come talk down to him about his mother being out of the picture and his response was to bash them over the head with his racket 8/10 Current situation, we never see his dad but we can assume he's doing a decent job as a father bc Itsuki and Namie are actually kinda well adjusted despite his lil aggro moment
Mitsue Mitsue is not part of the tennis club but hands around them as the only people she can stand coughcoughADMITTHEY'REYOURFRIENDSLOSERcoughcough and uses their matches as inspiration for drawing. Her parents belittle her passion for drawing and tell her seemingly often that she'll never go anywhere in life, its implied that she starts hanging around the tennis club and Maki's house to get away from her parents as long as possible until she actually starts liking them
Yuu Yuu is a canonicaly non-binary/X-gender character and i love them but their mom is transphobic and yelled at them and was really shitty i hope she dies. not directly related to their mother, but we also see other students bullying them for being gay (no one other than Maki, their mother, and their sisters find out about them not being cis, but most people seem to know theyre gay or at least suspect it) they are physically harassed early on, only to have a friend, Touma, step in and literally scare off the bullies(more on that when we get to him) and towards the middle of the show some other sports guys come into the tennis team's room to talk and start to make comments on Yuu being gay. This is immediately shut down by several of the tennis club members showing their clear support for them at least in the gay sense.
SHINGO His mother is either dead or otherwise out of the picture completely but there seems to be no ill will from him or his father, who remarried. Father is great and supportive of him. His step-mother however... She's constantly comparing him to his mother who she clearly doesnt like and wants as little to do with him as possible. Shingo has a little half-sister whom he adores and she adores him right back, but his step-mom HATES them interacting and does everything she can to discourage it, despite his little sister's clear adoration and love for him. He overall isn't super outwardly very effected by her, but is still clearly put-out by her random hate towards him and likely feels very uncomfortable in her presence. 6.5/10 overall, 9/10 dad but 4/10 step-mom who gets a"Not being as bad as you could've been" award
Now we're getting spicy
MAKI Our main character Maki! He's an overall quiet but pleasant person who has a very realistic outlook on life. His single mother is amazing towards him but works very long hours at her job and so most of the chores fall into him, not that he minds all that much, when he was younger he was often looked after by his mother's friend Shou, a canonical transman that lead Maki to be very informed about gender and was just what Yuu needed. His father however.... physically and financially abusive. despite being divorced he shows up at their apartment when he knows his exwife wont be at home to steal money from them and be mean to Maki. in the after credits scene of the first episode he hits maki so hard something in his mouth starts bleeding(he likely bit his tongue or a part of his cheek) and he curls up into a ball and waits for him to leave. He's terrified of this man. Later in the show he shows up to terrorize maki again and Touma, Maki's doubles partner, gets involved to put an end to it. Throughout the exchange Maki is practically cowering behind Touma which is so jarring because Maki's normal demeanor is so nonchalant and calm. It's implied he's been abused for as long as he could remember to some extent. We see a couple other time that he has an interesting reaction to threats and violence, such as another character threatening him with a racket(he doesn't react and simply says "Use your hands") or upon learning Itsuki bludgeoned a guy with his racket(tells him not to break the equipment because its expensive) Oh also his mother is in the process of getting a restraining order but its not in place yet Mom and Shou are 8/10, dad is 0/10, overall 4/10 experience for our sadboy Maki
TOUMA He's some kind of neurospicy i just know it. His father is ??? never see this man but we know he;s in the household, i think he travels for work or smth cause its mentioned he's rarely at home His mother HATES him. like for no reason. She gives us a lot of vague words she says to his older brother, who seems to be Touma's only positive family relation, at one point she says that he scares her but she also yells at him all the time and compares him to his brother and basically constantly belittles him for no reason. He seems to blame everything on himself but silently. When the tennis team isn't doing good he blows up be throwing his racket on the ground and storming away, but later reveals to his brother that he thinks its his fault and that he's a bad captain. Similarly, when the team is having a celebration he stays to the edges and explains to Yuu that he doesn't like being around people who are having fun because he feels like he's going to ruin it be engaging. We can actually tie this into a little moment he has with Maki during a game when Maki turns to him exactly and goes "I really love tennis!" and Touma stands there with awe on his face as if he couldn't imagine someone having fun by playing with him. Speaking of Yuu, back when he scared off the bullies, 2/3 of the bullies were IMMEDIATELY scared upon seeing him walk up, they told the third one that "Everyone knows he's a psycho" while Touma stands there with a blank face. This coupled with how his mother talks about him makes me think he's had a little bit of a violent streak that may be linked to autistic breakdowns Back to his mother, it is revealed at the end that there's a third brother we've never seen or heard of when we get a scene of his mother and older brother talking. his brother says "I love both of my little brothers" and later that episode his mom calls him to tell him she's divorcing his dad and taking his older brother with her. I just know he'd be even more messed up if Rintaro ends up being his twin brother. Anyway his dad is 4/10 for absence and his mom is 1/10 for doing the bare minimum (really sad that she has any points at all). Overall 2.5/10
TSUBASA he's my little crunchy guy i love him so much We very very briefly see his mother have worry for him at a bad moment but never goes after him when he runs away and she never seems to check on him at any other point. The bad moment is when he falls down the stairs. Specifically he is hit in the face by his father so hard (on a flight of stairs) that he slams into the wall and then loses his balance and falls backwards onto his dominant wrist hard enough to break it. Let me backtrack a bit. at about 2/3 through the anime, we get a scene of him at home watching tv with his 2 older brothers. His dad comes through the door and the music stops, all three boys look tense but Tsubasa specifically immediately gets a fearful look and when addressed by his dad tries to leave the room. Tsubasa is a very loud and confrontational person, likely caused by his dad's toxic masculinity, and says something that isn't important but causes his father to follow him and grab his wrist so hard he looks in pain. What follows is the stair incident. He then runs out of the house in the middle of the night and ends up in front of Shingo's house. Shingo is his tennis partner. Shingo sees him, Tsubasa tries to run away but is quickly caught by the hurt wrist. After Shingo realizes he's hurt he immediately gets his dad to take Tsubasa to the hospital. When the doctor asks if anyone else was involved, Tsubasa denies this and calls himself an idiot with the most heart wrenching expression on his face i swear. He later confesses to Shingo he's sure his dad hates him all because he's not as good at soccer as his older brothers, and blames himself for Shingo not being able to play in the upcoming tournament. When asked why he came to Shingo's house he responds with "I didn't know where else to go" Which makes me want to hit someone, personally. At the start of the series there a part where he raises his racket as if to strike Maki with it, but backs down when Maki doesn't even flinch. I'm taking this to mean he was never actually planning to hit Maki, but acting big and threatening violence is likely something he learned from his dad. When it doesn't work he immediately backs down and leaves the situation, similar to how he acts with his dad. He's also one of the few we see get physical with anyone else. Barring Itsuki and the racket incident, Tsubasa is the only member of the tennis team to threaten another middle schooler. In the club room incident where Yuu was starting to be harassed, Tsubasa was one of the three (Touma and Maki were not present) out of 6 members to intervene. While Shingo and Itsuki told the other boy off and insulted him in turn, Tsubasa actually got up in his space and grabbed a hold of the other boy's face, lightly shoving him. The other boys immediately backed down after this like Tsubasa was assuming they would, like how he learned to behave with his father. Mom is like 4/10 for being useless šand Father is 0/10 for an overall score of 2/10!!!
and now... for NAO My head is in my hands over him So to start, he's an only child and his father is distant and doesn't seem to interact with him or care for him whatsoever(unlike with Tsubasa and hopefully Touma, he's somehow being an absent parent while sitting right! next! to! him!!!), leaving him with no help or reprieve at home from his monster of a mother. She never physically hurts or lays a hand on him from what we've seen but she clearly has deep-rooted mental and emotional manipulation that has negatively effected Nao very deeply. We see a lot of signs early on that we brush away as little quirks he has, such as telling a lot of lies or "fairy tales" as the tennis club likes to call them, staring off into space, or even just looking impassively at what transpires around him as if he wasn't apart if it. That's right this boy disassociates. hard. His mother, to put it lightly, is an extremely controlling and authoritarian parent who wants to hand steer every little thing he thinks, feels, and does. She's constantly complaining to the principal about the club and lying or exaggerating in order for club activities to be suspended or halted because she doesn't think he gets anything from playing and would rather he spend all his time studying. Speaking of studying, that's what she has him do constantly at home. His room doesn't look like that of a middle school boy. It has a desk, a bed, and a dresser. I would even go so far as to say some of his spacey-ness comes from exhaustion. who knows how long she has him studying every night, and its revealed he gets up early so he can go on runs and practice swinging because she doesn't let him after he gets home from school. All of this feeds into his lies. He's learned that whenever he tells her the truth he gets yelled at and belittled and punished. So he lies. he tells her what he thinks she'll want to here and this bleeds into all of his relationships. Upon meeting Maki he lies immediately, something broad to appeal to everyone, but its called out by the rest of the club and he just sits there smiling through it all while looking at the sky. He's left handed and she hates that. He uses his left hand to eat once and she yells at him, making him freeze up and pull his right arm into his center, almost mimicking the fetal position. SPEAKING of eating... boy unintentionally has an eating disorder. We are shown multiple times when he is at home he pushes his food around his plate and eats little to none of it. While there are other scenes of him with food away from his mother, I dont think he's actually specifically shown eating then either, and could've easily not eaten anything there. OKAY so onto the really scary/sad part. There's a part where Shingo brings his little sister to watch their practice game with the girls' team, and she gets lost in the school. She ends up found sleeping in the nurses office, but they skipped over it bc the door was locked and figured she couldn't have gotten in there. They only find her when Maki hears the keys jingle in Nao's pocket and realizes he locked her in there. Nao himself seemed shocked that he had the keys and was the one to lock her in there. His mom had been yelling about the practice game and wanting it cancelled the night before. He found her, and instead of telling everyone or waking her up, he disociated and locked the door, than lied that he hadn't seen her. He seemed so shocked that Maki even thinks that he'd thought his own lie was real. Think of how scary that is. I also think he's neurospicy which his mom would absolutely fuck up even more but thats just me things Dad gets a 3/10 for personally pissing me off and his mom gets a funny lil 0/10 along with the two other shittiest parents. Overall a 1.5/10!!!
In all seriousness In my own little world most of them move in together and share an apartment. Yes ive seen the extra scenes no I dont care im ignoring them.

Hi! You made a really good post about how Gordon should be written as more fucked up/morally questionable more often which I really agree with! Your post mainly focused on the perspective of hlvrai as a real functioning world, but even if you take into account the idea that he's a guy playing a video game he's...still kind of morally weird? Like he never tells ANYONE it's a game of his own volition, it takes Coomer trying to murder him and then spelling out that he knew before the finale for Gordon to admit it to him and the Gnome knew from the start. Providing the ACAB stream now seems to be noncanon, he never tells Bubby, Tommy, Benrey, anyone the truth of his existence. He is lying to them throughout the whole series under the pretense of 'not fucking up the ai' (said in the intro to the first stream) even when they begin to question their environment.
Then in HLAGE, he is clearly shown to care about the Gnome, but not enough to 'save' him. He still wants to complete the video game, he still wants to win, and even if he feels bad about it, he still goes through the motions of ending the challenge. The implication seems to be that he kinda views the Gnome as lesser/less tangible/less important than 'real' people and his affection doesn't really constitute viewing them as equals or worth putting in effort to save. Which seems to be an important trait, since based on the hl2vrai trailer it would seem he didn't come back for the science team like Coomer asked him to.
oh my god!!!!! this!!! this!!!!! he is basically the equivalent of a god to these AI, he controls their ability to think and exist, and he just. god, i dont know how to explain it. it makes me think of monika from ddlc maybe, how she's dependent on the player, and the players want to interact with her. she simply Does Not exist when you are not playing her game. and you, the player (and the equivalent of gordon/the guy playing hlvrai in this metaphor), obviously cannot play the game at all times and keep the dialogue going, but there is. a need to do so depending on your opinions on monika. once an AI becomes aware does it become human and have human needs?? coomer very much so seems to have become at least contextually "human", feeling pain when the game gets turned off, basically being a tamagotchi, etc etc.
but even then does humanity denote whether you deserve to be treated with care??? i have way too many thoughts about all of this.
i feel like gordon/the player probably would not take everything that the science team says seriously. i mean, going back to the ddlc metaphor, after playing the game (if you did), did you ever go back after you finished it? or did you end up getting the proper ending and deleting monika's files? did you do all the things you were supposed to, because yes, obviously it is just a game. monika is not actually a sentient AI and cannot feel. she is just code written that way. and maybe gordon thinks that that's as far as the science team's consciousness goes. it's just a game, they cannot ACTUALLY feel pain, they're just coded to act sentient, etc etc. gordon (probably) does not actually realize the level of sentience and feeling the science team has. maybe he does put them into some nice little game after hlvrai, but then again. He'd probably just never open the game again.
the gnome is probably a prime example of the way a human would react if they were left inside of a game, aware but not existing, and left alone for years. the science team was really fucking nice to gordon despite their awareness.
this post is about the fictional player/gordon. this is not about wayne. obvious point to make but i feel like somebody may get confused.
the mentions of ddlc are very affected by the fact that i played that game when i was WAY too young and felt so fucking bad about leaving monika alone, which lead to me playing the game almost daily for months and never deleting her file (partially due to me not actually knowing how to delete files but. the other reason is more important now.) i have autism and it makes me care VERY much about inanimate/nonhuman objects. i feel bad for the science team, okay.
basically, gordon is morally grey because Oh My God he's an awful person to these AI, but also wouldn't you do the same thing? wouldn't you just close the game thinking "oh yeah that's just how the characters are coded. lol they'll be fiiiine" and not have any second thoughts? and is gordon a bad person for doing that same thing with a modded half-life? yes and no.
hlvrai is the AI forgiving gordon for leaving them alone, hlage is the AI hating gordon for leaving them alone. and i think thats why the gnome has more presence in (the players) reality? like, the gnome wants gordon to know and feel exactly what he felt. whereas the science team, obviously excluding the coomer and benry boss fights, never really thought to HATE hate gordon. the science team is monika from ddlc and the gnome is AM from i have no mouth but i must scream. (this point also connects to an idea i have about haunted houses/homes. a haunted house is a house that hates you, a home is a house that loves you. barely connect but. it's a cool idea to add i guess??)
bleh. i cannot put all of these thoughts in order, and it's really hard to entirely explain what i mean. i hope this suffices??? thank you so much for the ask though. i really appreciate being able to talk about my interests with others lol. in conclusion, i really want to make character designs for the science team after they have been left to rot for a while in half-life. maybe they would grow mold or something.
(post that was mentioned at the start of the ask)
#hlvrai#hlage#ask#i fucking love sentient ai#mentions of ddlc and ihnmbims but i wont maintag#haunted house hlvrai au

Iām thinking of the conversations between Charles and Alastair when poor Alastair is there helping Charles. I know we see him slightly express how heās getting tired of Charles needs but I really wanted some scenes to read of his pov and how he felt about it. Iām imagining Charles and his audacity that Alastair is putting up with. Alastair is too kind š
if I didnāt get treated right in a relationship, you can suffer alone lmao Alastair is way too good of a person. I just imagine him knowing that he wants Thomas but doesnāt think it would work out so heās settling caring for the dude that broke his heart. maybe ācaringā isnāt the right word but heās basically hiding away the part of me him that could be happy for Thomas and being there for Charles
so once again, we are missing important pov. and itās not like I needed five hundred pages about it (also didnāt need four hundred pages of miscommunication about pity) but it would have been nice to read Alastairās pov. I also donāt buy CC input about pov we didnāt get: something about how we canāt know what theyre thinking cause it gives too much away???? I donāt know but I read something about why some characters donāt get pov and it sounds like some poor excuse because she didnāt care enough about specific characters
and I know Iāve stated a million times how CC doesnāt know how to execute complex characters but she really doesnāt know how lmao
most of Alastairās stuff is from Cordeliaās pov (seriously not needed) and Thomasās (which is beautiful) but I also want to read how Alastair feels on certain things. he and Thomas both go through so much shit but itās never really shown or written well or at all. Thomas loses two very important people in his life within a year, Alastair loses his father while dealing with other emotions and growing as a character. and yes we get Thomasās pov but I donāt think itās really that often?????
yet we have to suffer with hearing about pity, bracelets, love triangles that donāt make sense for probably half of the series. WE DONT CARE OR AT LEAST I DONT CARE LOL itās honestly such a waste on great characters. instead theyāre swapped in my opinion dull characters
#anti cassandra clare#anti cc#thomas lightwood#alastair carstairs#thank you thomastair for making me endure this whole series just for you#thomastair#yes Iām being hateful#Iām just saying that Alastair deserved to be written better#and so did Thomas#who actually cares about the whole pity bracelet thing#just my stupid opinions#so donāt sue me#Charles and his fucking audacity

HAYAMI RAMBLE POST
hii. been busy here and there so all ive done is rewatching unfinished anime series and dealing w both asthma and acute laryngitis and depression š¤”š¤”
but ive been thinking abt hayami whenever i listen to mitski so. I Have To make a post abf her
this will be hcs mostly.............. š some hcs/interpretation will be ooc as i need to rewatch the anime + reread the manga and the korotan series. but it physically hurts me sometimes bc i get too excited, then ill spiral into hatred for the series. ALSO MY INTEREST IN IT HAS BEEN DILUTING? THATS NOT GOOD!
āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā
- i think hayami straightens her hair for the majority of her middle school final yr. bc in the manga, its shown in the manga that she still has curly frilly hair but to separate herself from Irina, its tied up and straightened
- which leaves me to think shes those cases of blonde suddenly turn brunette as they grow older but in her case its like hella obvious. I dont think her mom would let her dye her hair so the dying hair thing is out of the question for me
- this mostly stems from the ova where she has blonde hair + some ppls interpretation of hayami in which she has brown hair and i think thats so swag
- i think hayami has hazel eyes.. just bc it just seems fitting that she does yk. and also brown hair + hazel eyes combo hayami ? God Bless
- how others see hayamis eyes can depend on the lighting.. like when its sunset it appears more brown to others or when its morning, it appears more green. could even be gold in a very specific moment
- its mentioned that hayami is more expressive in the beginning of assclass and gets more stoic later on.
- And then i think abt how matsui tried to box hayami into the tsundere stereotype even tho it just makes me see her more as a person w communication problems and issues handling her facial expressions
- i think hayami naturally just has like an angry face (furrowed brows and all that)..
- combined w her communication problems, hayami is pretty much just misunderstood by her classmates as someone whos difficult and irritable (one example is the boys group chat thing where okajima expresses that he likes hayami and in turns maehara is like "eeeehh... uhhhhh.. dunno dude shes kinda scary")
- its also Very Important to me that hayami has said tsundere-esque lines.. Like the infamous "Dont get the wrong idea" when saving itona and also her line in the popularity ranking ("Its not like im happy or anything" or smth of that nature)
- Ik why she said those but Why is she saying them specifically? like whys she trying to Stay Neutral/not opinionated abt her ranking in particular.
- shes so catcore. Hayami was a latchkey child from a very young age. we dont rlly have any info on hayamis life from her graduation forward aside from some in the korotan, the epilogue and like some meta info,,
hayami was relied on a lot and had to do others dirty bidding. i imagine her believing that it was some form of friendship, some way of maintaining their relationship (considering the absence of her father and mother and her chasing for validations)
i think her previous classmates were afraid of her at the beginning, but when realized that hayami had good intentions, they used her loneliness to benefit themselves
(UTTER OVERTHINKING) do you think that her being "sassy" or smth of that nature is to barricade others from getting too close in hopes of not being fooled/used for dirty works again, its also her nature in general But like at the same time, its prob one of the only approach of communication shes used to (knowing what happens after and all that). Do you think she has disorganized (leaning a bit more on anxious) attachment. Do you think that her communication problems already make her appear to be cold but her interpersonal difficulties drive it further . Why does she have such little connections to the girls despite being seen w them often. do you think abt yada, whos multitalented, jealous of hayami ,whos noted by others for mostly her sniping talent and the rest is ignored. do y
its so weird to me that hayami stagnated in her development? (her being a receptionist, the whole "she strives to be a coworker everyone can rely on" and also singlehandedly fishing chiba out of unemployment)
its great that shes honed her receptionist skills but in the end, its mostly just for helping someone else. and the fact that chiba isnt depicted as like being against it is kinda off.. hayamis known for her stretching thin of herself and chiba, being arguably hayamis closest friend, would. at least realize that she has a self-sacrificing tendency (seeing how observant he is yk)
?? apparently she singlehandledly handles every business and sales matters. insane. also,, ig its fitting that hayami chose a fast-paced position for her job but idk man. Idk its still insane to me that hayami is chibas receptionist..
on a lighter note she cut her hair at some point in the future so thats cool
demi hayami forever. shes 100% demi. i also think shes unlabeled, like she doesnt rlly care what she is tbh. others ask her abt it and shes like "idk up to interpretation" (ooc)
its so funny to me. that in korotan c, apparently she showed up to watch asano having a lil date w princess lea? bc it mentioned her name later on helping lea from the "bodyguards" (along w chiba too.. this makes their viewing their classmates from afar in the animated koro q funnier tbh)
hayami in the skiing club.....
i think her interest/reason for joining is mostly that she wanna try it and also bc i think she saw it on tv a few times and got fascinated by the ppl skiing/snowboarding
dunno where the clubs got the budget to apparently Go Fucking Skiing frequently,, or how the club would even operate (in Middle School no less). but i think itd be pretty funny if the club disbanded some time later and hayami joined a dance club instead (which would make more sense)
i think hayami had done ballet before. as a kid. Just a hc but she wanted smth to do rather than. Sitting watching tv bc no ones home
horrible horrible thought but hayami seems semi like those kids whose parents are on the verge of a divorce (projection) š
i think one of the reasons why i tend to read hayami as having avpd is. just the fact that she pays attention to 'the class dynamic and harmony and such'? im not 100% sure on the meaning of that sentence but that just reminds me of my experience w avpd and i Have To hc her as having it
as a final thing :
#anatsu kyoushitsu#hayami rinka#rinka hayami#assclass hcs#assassination classroom#assclass#miscellaneous#ramblings#ramble post#self indulgent#ive seen ppl making their fav characters their ocs#after like literal yrs of being in a fandom#me @ hayami tbh#me @ assclass in general#guilty pleasure : crossover universe of oc-ified medias#i might make a post abt#why i hc hayami rinka as having avpd

This got me thinking that for example:
Some series like naruto, bleach, bnha and other ones when they notice a tiny mistake or a continuity mistake, the people began to basically point it out and everyone follow it sometimes withouth questions.
But with sonic (and other series) when is pointed out a mistake on the narrative or about continuity many people (not everyone) began to make excuses or some arguments.
I dont know if I am wrong or whatever
This is true. In other series, like the anime you've pointed out, most will go on board with pointing out the inconsistencies within the series because it's so easy to tell or because that's just what naturally comes to us. But like you've also mentioned, with the Sonic fandom, that behavior is not the same. In this fandom, they instead try to come up with any excuse to excuse the inconsistency.
Why is this done in the Sonic fandom and most likely not in others? The answer is simple. It's because they like the inconsistency; they like what the inconsistency consists of or is.
For example, if an inconsistency suddenly made one romantic pairing more official than the other, would the shippers for that ship be okay with that inconsistency or not? The answer would be an obvious, yes. They would excuse that inconsistency even if it makes no sense, why? Because it helps their narrative of wanting to see the two characters as a romantic couple. This is usually the reason why excuses are made in this fandom; it's due to shipping.
If I were to give a more direct example, it would be Sonic's drastic personality change towards Amy in more recent medias from the West. In past medias, Sonic was very clear on his stance with Amy. He ran away from her and told her flat out no when thinking of being in a romantic couple with her. He even said off comments or was rude to her in some manner, but in medias like Sonic Frontiers, Sonic Dream Team, Sonic Superstars, the IDW Comics, TailsTubes and Sonic Origins Plus, they changed Sonic's personality drastically to suddenly have him be okay around Amy or wishing to hang out with her more as a friend. Do those who like to put Sonic and Amy as a romantic couple point out this inconsistency? No, they don't and instead, wish to make the excuse that "he was always like this" or that this change is "good." And why do they do this? Because it helps their narrative in wishing to see Sonic and Amy as a romantic couple.
Another drastic change that doesn't have to do with shipping but has excuses made for it is having Amy be a part of Team Sonic instead of Knuckles. They will make excuses saying that "it makes sense for Knuckles not to be included because he should be on his island protecting it" despite Knuckles never having an issue leaving his island in past medias to join Sonic on an adventure. Why do they do this? It's because they want Amy to be included in more things at the expense of excluding Knuckles. Since there are fans bias for wanting Amy in absolutely every piece of media possible, they will make excuses for Knuckles getting excluded all of a sudden despite it being inconsistent to past materials showing that Knuckles tags along with Sonic and Tails fairly often.
Another point that is made with excuses is the general point in believing that Sonic and Shadow hate each other so much that they can't go a minute without annoying or fighting each other. Since they want to believe in that personally for personal reasons, they will make excuses saying that it is normal for the two to always fight or to always be annoyed of each other. Them acting this way (or portraying them as just wanting to fight for no good reason) is inconsistent to several medias since they have shown to help each other in every game they're in, but the fans will still make excuses to believe in fan interpretation or personal interpretation more than factual content. Why? I assume it's because they have an abnormal hate towards the thought of Sonic and Shadow being together in a nice relationship whether romantic or friendship. There's also the point of them seeing Shadow as in the way of their favorite pairing, so they want to believe in Sonic and Shadow hating each other so that they have no chance of being together romantically. Or, they don't think that someone who looks like Shadow could be a nice person or get along with Sonic the hero/main character good guy. There is also the issue with fans believing in fan material more than official content to make them believe in lies over the truth too. This has them believe in wildly inaccurate information that never happened before, such as Super Sonic and Super Shadow fighting each other. This goes against the lore not only because it never happened before, but also because it goes against how the Chaos Emeralds are even used in the first place. Chaos Emeralds help make miracles and are fueled with the pure wishes and hopes of others (and in the movie universe, love between family and possibly other types of love). Therefore, Sonic and Shadow fighting each other as Supers would be inaccurate and not even possible.
Those are some of the main points that have excuses made for them with the Sonic fans because of personal selfish intentions. These fans do it so much because they want to have things their way that badly. They believe that if they believe in their lies that much to the point they believe it's not a lie while also having others believe in their lies, that it will somehow be true or become true. And when fan employees go out of their way to pay attention to them and sometimes fulfill it, it doesn't help that negative behavior of making excuses done by these fans and some employees too (who try to get their fan interpretations made real in some manner). This in turn then fuels the negative atmosphere created, and if I were to put it in a certain way, creates a continuous cycle of negativity or toxicity (like toxic positivity for even the worst of content or for changes to the series that make no sense). If I were to describe it in a simple manner that isn't so kind, they're all like spoiled brats who got too comfortable with getting things their way or getting spoiled with what they demanded for/want. Giving a spoiled child what they wish will only make the issue worse, will make them demand for more and the respect they have for others will deteriorate. Problems will get worse and things surrounding the child that is affected by the child will continue to get worse as they continue to demand for more and disrespect those who don't agree with them.
So, in the end, I wouldn't say that you're wrong in your assumption. The only thing to understand after that is "why." Many go into arguments to try to get what they wish to be true to become true to others. It's a continuous cycle of hate, drama, misinformation, disrespect, etc. It is a big problem with these fans and the continuous lies and echo chambers don't help the issue.

man, im rereading dm and the hounds with my bf so i can talk to someone abt it but like - my guy, tysm for how you right your girl characters. like nell ofc is super fleshed out and its clear you put a lot of care into her character but like all of the girls in your story are super characterized/actually have a personality and goals and flaws and things they dont like abt themselves and ways they need to grow and i just - its just so refreshing bc thats not super common in either fantasy or fanfic (the latter mostly bc it usually has a heavy focus on m/m ships). but like the care you put into nell and her as a character really was what got me out of my art block so in summation tysm. also i hope ur having a good day etc etc
omg :'''''')))))) thank you SOOO much for this message. This is so so so sweet of you to send in.
Like, for one, the fact that you're rereading the story is just incredible in and of itself!!! I'm so glad you've enjoyed it enough to read it twice <3 genuinely.
And ahhhh I'm so glad you like how I write the girls!!! It's like 100% something that is *vital* to me. Like... I love queer stories so much, but I don't just want to write queer stories that are solely like m/m stories, ya know? bc I love girls lmao I love women. I want to represent them in my stories as well, and I want to give them as much depth and nuance as boy characters usually receive. I agree completely that like women characters can often be sidelined in favor of the men characters, and it's something I never wanted to do in my own writing, so it really means a lot that you've sent this!!!<3333
It was a big part of the reason why I chose to have Nell's mom be the Death Eater instead of her dad. Even though William's character is like very dear to me lol, I wanted to give the nuanced and complicated history to a woman (especially bc canonically, I think Bellatrix and Alecto Carrow are the only female death eaters??? which is nuts????) (Narcissa is never shown to be a Death Eater, just Lucius's wife, from what I recall).
But yeah. I wanted Nell to have a complicated relationship with her mother in particular as a way to represent the very real complicated relationships that daughters can have with their mothers in the real world. I also wanted to show like a nuanced portrayal of a mother that would always be in a perpetual state of moral grayness.
And like with Daphne--- a lot of her character was sort of my rebuff to how JKR writes feminine characters in the original series. Like the fact that the only girly characters are like Lavender Brown, Umbridge, and Fleur (and more I'm probably forgetting) --- and all of these characters are portrayed as silly and vapid... I wanted to contradict that directly with a character who is extremely girly, and also brave and complicated with her problems. Which was part of why I had Nell dismiss befriending her so quickly in the first installment, bc I wanted Nell to be wrong about Daphne to emphasize this sort of automatic dismissal that happens for girly characters. And then like show that there's more underneath the surface for Daphne, but that her femininity and softness *is* always there too.
nywayyyyyy all of this is to say that your message was so wonderful to receive so thank you so much for sending it. I agree completely about how unfortunate it is that women characters get sidelined so frequently, and it's something I hope to never do in my writing <3
And I hope you're having a good day as well!!!!!! <3

So when season two came out I promised I was going to dive into it and then I proceeded disappear but I'm back. Also I've been at school and work all day so sorry if some things dont make sense, or if theres any grammatical errors.
I know I talk about Crowley alot on here, but Azi has been on my mind lately, especially regarding his religious trauma. I mean this is one of the main plot points of season two (and a little bit in season one) Azi's main problem is that he still thinks in the very black and white, kind of old fashioned way of thinking that heaven is good, and hell is bad. We see this very very often in the show whether hes saying things like this to Crowley, for example:
(And in season two when he says something along the lines of "and you are evil, I'm afraid")
It seems something that Azi battles with for a long time, from when Azi freaks out when angel Crowley even CONSIDERS questioning God, he doesn't know what to say and goes in full panic. And these little remarks through the series shows what he still (tries) to believe. But I think he really begins to question during Job not only that he must be, by default, a bad angel for lying, yet he hasn't fallen, when someone like Crowley didn't do anything as severe and yet he fell?
But the problem Azi has is he cannot let this ideaology go. I mean we see him TRY to in season one and season two, he fundementally thinks Crowley is a good person, and he knows deep down the things heaven is doing is horrible. But Azi is too forgiving (we see this with Gabriel) and too optimistic in what heaven COULD be/ what God COULD be planning.
And this dynamic between him and Crowley is really interesting, it kind of shows the two spectrums of what religious trauma can do. Crowley, for example, has accepted early on that God has abandoned him, and he has learned the hard way that neither side is good and is instead better off fending for himself. We do see in his desperate moments him pleading to God, but time and time again he is ignored, which creates this weird relationship with Azi where for 6000 years he kept this weird distance between them in fear of abandonment again. While Azi on the other hand, does not know what it's like to fall, he deeply loves God and thinks She will always be good, but he is shown through other angels horrible things, and it's confusing (why would she create horrible angels, why would she cause disease and death if she was so good?) We see him get panicky once again when Crowley brings up the question in episode three as to why did God create poverty and expect those in horrible circumstances to turn out as good as those born in castles? And Azi kind of tries not to think too much about the point Crowley is making. I think Azi HAS silently questioned Her since Bliblical times, but has pushed it down, that's how his best friend fell, and the last thing Azi wants is God to abandon him.
Finally, I also want to touch on Azi's desperate need to be good and seen as good by others. I think this stems from him being seen as a "lesser" angel, being sent to Earth as more of a sort of punishment, being looked down on because of it. The one major thing him and Crowley have in common is not fitting in, anywhere. So I think all of this causes him to ache for validation that what he's doing is right. He says in season two that since he isn't reporting to Heaven, he calls Crowley to tell him about the good things he's done. We also see during the Job part where he lies to Gabriel, that he thinks he's a bad angel and once again I feel like this causes him to feel like he must over compensate and take the pain and sadness put on to the world for the better of everyone else.
Mitskis song "I Don't Smoke" always reminds me of Aziraphale becuase of the line "if you need to be mean/be mean to me/ I can take it/and put it inside of me" because time and time again Azi goes and does things to benefit others, and not himself. He puts himself on the front lines for people who have hurt him. Gabriel is a good example of this, this guy has tried to kill him! And yet he helps him. Crowley is obviously fraustrated by this, but Crowley doesn't understand exactly WHY Azi is like this, they have dealt with their trauma differently. So of course when the metatron offered him a position in heaven he took it. Not only did it help him feel validated and finally 'good enough' but also he once again jumped in front of a bullet heading directly to the world, and Crowley. He belives he is doing good by going to heaven. Even if it hurts him, he NEEDS to feel like he is helping others, and he believes that if God technically has appointed him to such a power to make sure nothing bad happens, then in his mind she must be good then.
#This is why I don't like the coffee theory#like maybe my boy just has some trauma#I love seeing how Crowley and Azi parralell to each other#I hope this made sense#im goign to sleep now#good omens#crowley#aziraphale#ineffable husbands#anthony janthony crowley#jim good omens#good omens season two#aziracrow#azirafell#anthony j crowley#good omens 2#good omens meta

Why I think We Should Say Goodbye to "Euphoria" Now
Yes, I'd rather have no season 3.
I feel like the world has since grown out of Euphoria by now, well, except for the die-hard fans. The director and sole writer of the show has pretty much shown how disturbing his ideas actually are.
It's probably the only reason why the first season of Euphoria succeeded so well is the collaboration of the cast, crew, and director. Now we have news of strained relationships, consistent pauses in shoots going on in the production of the third season, and proper constructive criticism of the director's rebranding of another project, "The Idol."
I am not going to research too much about this as so many articles about it are a headache to read because of the director.
I will be giving my opinions and thoughts about the previous seasons of Euphoria and as well as my thoughts on the Idol, which I actually have never watched but I felt like I shouldn't, I am glad that I didnāt after watching Ashley Ippolito's commentary about the show, on just the first episode.
Euphoria shouldn't be targeted to younger audiences and I really wish it was set at least in senior high school, at best freshmen to second year college.
It's not the depiction of LGBTQIA+ or the alcoholism or even the drugs. IT'S EVERYTHING ELSE . THIS IS RATED X, FOR EXTREME CAUTION TO WAY TOO GRAPHIC SCENES AND STORIES.
Look, Euphoria is quite the show, and I understand the appeal... of the first season. It was a fresh new take at the time it was released. It was drama DRAMA.
I was older when I watched it , I was 19 going on 20 at the time, and decided to give it a shot long after its conclusion. It was around the time the second season was close to be released. Even at a much more appropriate age to digest this content, I still needed to take a break after each episode. It took me pretty much weeks or a month to watch an episode after the other. It was way too much to process at once. That's coming from a binge watcher.
First of all, the characters were pretty good, but it was only because of the collaboration of the writer/director and the actors. I do know that Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Barbie Ferreira had said in interviews that they worked on their characters very closely. As for the remaining main cast, I haven't watched their interviews, so I will leave it to their ability to act to speak volumes of why their characters were remembered and well received. Sam Levinson had said that he projected a lot of his own story through Rue, with his battles of addiction to illegal substances as a teenager.
Now the story... okay. I do not appreciate the use of sex and nudity too much here, especially with Maddie, Jules, and Cassie. Maddie exploring sex at 14 with a 26 year old man with that... commentary narrated by Rue is just not right, I understand 17 and 20, which is not right either, but is often than not much more acceptable. The amount of sexual nudity of Cassie actually dramatised in the series should have stopped at one implied video. That amount in the show is way too disgusting, and they mean to tell me she isn't even 18, or 17 at least, when that happened? This is why I needed to take breaks watching this damn show. Jules and ..Nateās dad, no. JUST NO. Nateās father, I already hate every scene associated and showing him. I feel very uncomfortable with all of what Nate saw, and that the audience saw TOO MUCH OF IT ALREADY.
I should have stopped at one episode because it didn't get any better for my psyche the further watched. Now Rue is addicted to a person, Jules is simultaneously showing her toxicity, Maddie gets physical and mental abuse, Cassie is traumatised, Kat finds empowerment in the wrong place, AND NATE CONTINUES TO EXIST.
I hate that it really did influence a lot of younger people to explore these addictions (I truly think Euphoria influenced the satire of 'delulu is the solulu'), instead of reflecting these stories as " DONT DO IT". I do think the adults or even teenagers that do struggle and relate with these stories felt seen and heard and that it may have inspired hope to change, reflect that their choices before and who they were aren't who they are now, or ya know positive things. I hope that is what Sam Levinson meant to inspire with this show at the time because, after that, everything went downhill.
The second season... the few things I liked about it are Fez beating up Nate, Fez and Lexi, Lexi's play, Maddie beating up Cassie (mustve been fun for Alexa to get to slap a literal MMA fighter and getting away with it), Cassieās desparate pick me skin care routine scenes (props to Sydney for that), Chloe Cherry actually acting, and Rue breaking up with Jules for good. Yes, it didn't get any better for my psyche. What is this show now? Where is the cautionary aspect, and why is it all JUST trainwreck after trainwreck?
The first season was praised for its drama and good acting, and I do appreciate that it does truly illustrates cautionary tales in the pursuit of euphoria, hence the title. It should have stopped there. But noooo, the director found a new addiction, and he tried to use the formula that worked on his "Magnum Opus" on another show that was not supposed to go in that direction.
The Idol is a show where Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis' daughter, Lily Rose Depp, starred with famous pop soloist The Weeknd and formerly directed by Amy Seimetz. They said that the show was supposed to reference Jocelyn's life as a child star. I mean, judging from the photos, Seimetz really was going for satire. HBO thought the world wanted something dark and shock factor again, but they were proven so wrong when the audience and critics immediately gave backlash, for good reason. From what I have read on several article headlines and from Final Girl Studios' video essay, it was basically no story and all porn, Final Girl Studios said it was...boring. Pretty much of what the world had said is that it's just plain fantasy porn that wasn't even good. To add gas into the fire, the crew was not enjoying the environment. The original The Idol gave Disney Channel vibes and given that the point of the show was supposed to dive into Hollywood exploitation and a dark comedy ? It could've revealed just as dark, maybe even darker and truer topics, about Hollywood all the while showing the highs and lows of a person receiving fame and praise left and right at a young age then at an older age. I would have loved to see that. It would have provided actual substance, even with darker parts, which is the point. Levinson instead made something...disgusting, probably hoping that it would bring back the accolades he got with Euphoria. Well, that formula did not work.
Worst, it failed the WORST way possible.
Here is the thing, I do not care if it's a man, woman, or a member of the LGBTQIA+ directing and/or writing the story. If it's good, it's good, if it's bad, IT'S BAD. I will not dive into misogyny, misandry, discrimination, gender superiority and any other topic related about the influences that lead to the misdirection on the making of the show, because if I talk about it anymore than I do now, it will continue to have power, which is the opposite of what should happen. These influences are meant to be addressed a few times and moved on from it by deeming it unimportant anymore and progressing from it, NOT accepting its existence and normalized.
That's why Euphoria season 3 needs to be cancelled now, as well as Sam Levinson's formula.
We are already at the age where we are increasingly aware of the influences of these shows and how much of a progress society has, by truly critically criticising highly influential media. In order to truly progress, these types of content shouldn't be produced anymore and be left in the past. Euphoria was a good show at its time, but it will not work today, and it really shouldn't work again.
So please, say goodbye and thank the service that the show has done. We don't need that anymore.

empatheorem event info;; vash the stampede
* if you are interested in swapping with vash you need to be comfortable with possibly writing themes surrounding human experimentation, torture, self-harm, etc. ty to xav for the template ā”
physical:
vash is 6'8'' and the bodily equivalent to a wacky flailing arm inflatable tube man; all long limbs and runner's muscles. he's still pretty thin, but he's gained a bit of weight during his stay here. he is accustomed to folding in on himself to fit in most spaces, so if your character is not used to that and they are anywhere non-accommodating, they are likely to bonk their forehead a lot.
your reflexes will be so fast. like a nervous cheetah.
despite looking on the leaner side, vash is inhumanly strong. he's very good at keeping it under wraps and controlling what he does, so if your character isn't used to that there may be some consequences.
his senses are very sensitive! you'll probably become a bit overwhelmed by what he considers a normal amount of sensory input.
guy is covered in scars, skin grafts, and metal bits holding him together. his left arm is missing. there are many places where the nerves are dead.
because of the combination of the amount of strain he's put on his body and lack of taking care of it, as well as being at what is basically the 'end of his battery life' with regards to what is keeping him alive, vash suffers from a lot of chronic pain. the severity differs from day to day, but typically there is almost always somewhere on him that at least sort of hurts.
weapons + abilities:
vash's abilities and weapons are currently all unlocked. you can find a list of them [ here ].
one of the abilities it being able to telepathically communicate with his brother knives, though this does not extend to their stampede equivalents. discussions with beetle or the mun of whichever character knives may swap with should be considered.
it should be noted that it takes vash well over a century to gain complete control over his abilities as a capital P Plant. Even at the end of the series, he is shown to not be 100% in control of some aspects of it. Before having the level of control he currently does, each use of his abilities had been triggered against his will, and their use had been catastrophic. Characters that try to tap into this power will most likely not have the ability to control it to the same degree.
on that note, as stated before, he is near the end of his 'battery life', which is why his hair is black. any unchecked use of his abilities will kill him. honestly i dont really mind if you do this, just give me a heads up first, lol.
vash is an extreme deadeye. as stated before, his reflexes are incredibly fast. he's shown time and time again to be able to shoot a moving bullet out of the air. do with this what you will.
his signature gun, as stated in the above list, as a Colt .45 top-loading revolver. he also has a gun hidden in his prosthetic left arm.
mannerisms:
tone changes a lot depending on the situation, but he typically speaks a bit lazily, dropping the ends of words.
often picks at the cuticles of his flesh hand out of nervous habit.
also rests his hand on the back of his head a lot out of nervous habit.
almost constantly fidgeting or shifting his weight around or moving unless he is completely comfortable.
enormous sweet tooth.
loves kids and is perceived as incredibly bully-able by most.
almost always concentrating on his movement and sound; he has the ability to either make himself silent but often deliberately makes himself known to appear more friendly. it comes second nature to him most of the time, and he doesn't have to really think about it. however the second he actually stops thinking about it he very much does trip over his own two feet.
almost always wearing his sunglasses
almost constantly overly-aware of how he might come off as non-human and does a lot to try and make sure it's undetectable.
over dramatic. screams a lot. also an absolute fucking yapper.
memories:
vash gets a lot of nightmares and ptsd episodes from various sources; losing his mother, being experimented on by his brother, his body being forcefully taken over against his will on multiple accounts, wolfwood dying, etc. i can give more information as needed.
memories of himself and knives as children aboard the space fleet, SEEDS.
memories of his time post-series which are-- hazy, often. tw for self harming and alcoholic tendencies here, should be discussed in dms first.
memories of wandering the desert with his brother after the collective crash of the SEEDS fleet, along with the memories leading up to and surrounding knives cutting off vash's arm.
memories of the various times in which he's been tortured are also up for grabs. these can be discussed at greater length in dms.
memories about his recent wedding and honeymoon are off limits, but just about any of his other spirale memories are free game.
vash has a lot of shit to unpack, so please feel free to message me with anything else you're curious about! i can go full corkboard-with-yarn for you so fast
other:
lives in a two-story house with wolfwood and their cat in fibonacci.
he usually walks everywhere because he's dogshit at driving but he does have a motorcycle given to him by the Stars
their house has a big garden and the house itself is full of plants as well. these and the cat are his children. please be so nice to them
same as zach, the event rules already talk about this sort of thing but please dont be weird about vash's body or his relationship with wolfwood. vash is still working a lot on unpacking a lot of self-hate and also it's just not cool in general.
icons:
sharing icons is totally okay! however i have. uh. well over 2000 of them, and tend to only edit them as needed. i can link you to a g/oogle dr/ive which i will keep updating, since this event has kind of kicked my ass into actually working on them lmao. i just ask that you dont share them or use them outside of the event.
please dm me either here or on discord if you're interested!

Ooo tell me more about these gore sites n whatever
yayayayayay :33 well just a few of them that I feel like I can explain somewhat, I have failed to stick to sites only and now just dumping all my cursed knowledge on every kind of shock site/image/video (none shown or linked obviously lmao) also as yall can probably tell: cw for like, general descriptions of shock stuff like gore or just things that are gross/unsanitary:
K-Fee commercial(s) - a series of coffee commercials that aired a while ago, i think the 90s or somewhere around then. So you know like, that veryyyyy popular screamer with the car road or something? So that was actually from this series, and there are multiple more but it's just that one which is most well known. I think they actually got taken down some time later after airing and I mean I'm not surprised there's gonna be like at least a few people got heart attacks for that. Like.. Yeah
The "Unholy Trinity" aka. TubgirI, Lemon Party & Goats e (last one without space i dont want to summon anyone lmao) - three most popular/infamous shock pictures that got passed around on the internets in the fucked up evil 2000s-or-so, basically any shocksite that exists no matter the quality like, has to have at least one of these on their site (up there with the Jeff the Killer flashing jumpscare or that Anne(?) image from the horror movie, but those are like, used as screamers and not just still images), they're like the shock image starter pokemon you get me right. A brief(??) description of these: TubgirI (cw for uh, enemas?) is an image of a woman sitting in a tub with her legs spread, and a mask (according to some, not gonna fact check sorry i value myself) on her face, and what looks to be the aftermath of an enema cascading out her ass and on her face. And like, I'm trying to be grossed out but the way everyone describes it just makes it look like some kinda abstract album cover like whoever photographed this must have really cared about the composition anyway uh Goats e (cw for. ass insides????) is an image of a dude presenting for a lack of better term, and using both his hands he kinda pulls/opens up his asshole from the sides to a point where you can see the inside of it. Lemon Party is literally just an image of three old men going at it. Yes that is all it's just three old men fucking. Probably got considered "shocking" by the net because homophobia and oldmanphobia i guess. Meatspin also got the similiar treatment because it had a trans woman(?) in it
1 Man 1 Jar - that one's a video and also somewhat of a classic just like the aforementioned three. Basically, there's this guy who really likes putting things up his urethra/ass, but he's more into extreme things than anything really safe, and there are multiple videos other than that one, where something just, uh, goes wrong while he's doing it. He also had a wife and a child(?) but he kept it a secret from them. Anyway 1 Man 1 Jar is contains him standing over a glass jar and then proceeding to put the whole thing inside (he apparently did that/or similiar things with glass before then but it went as fine as it could before), but the glass does what glass does and breaks, immediately after blood starts just gushing out and there's a LOT of it. The Guy just calmly starts getting the pieces out, doesn't even scream or anything, just doesn't have a reaction to that. After the whole ordeal (outside the video) he said he has patched it up himself and went to work the next day hiding the injury from everyone else (he was fine). He didn't go to the hospital because he didn't want anyone to know about what he's been doing and I honestly just feel bad for him at this point
Agor.io - soooo, you know how I mentioned earlier that it was like, when you wanted to make a site that's a screamer very often the jumpscare itself will be like, that one Anne(?) image or realistic Jeff the Killer? So yeah, they'd also typically, to make it (Jeff) scarier, they'd put up scream sounds in the background and a whole lot of flashing on the image/gif itself. The site agor.io had the jumpscare in it that is just like how I described, and it is named (and kinda modeled after) like that in order to trick people who made a typo trying to go on agar.io (that one circle game) instead. One day, a woman wrote a reddit post asking for help or explanation for that on some, I assume, that one law focused subreddit? saying that her young son, who's got epilepsy or some other condition that causes seizures can't really remember, found out about the game agar.io from school when his friends played it. When he went to home, he tried to play it there too, however, made a typo. And then had a severe seizure and landed in the hospital, he was still in the hospital as his mother made the post, and she was looking into taking whoever made the site into court over it. The site actually did get taken down a few days after, but we don't know if it's because the law got involved and they (person who made the site) were forced to, or if they saw the post and got scared and deleted it immediately to avoid that.
Encyclopedia Dramatica, particularily the page "Offended" - Encyclopedia Dramatica was basically like, a satire version of Wikipedia, wackpedion reference. Except unlike other pages that have a similiar premise, Encyclopedia Dramatica's humor and wit was basically just racism slurs gore and whatever's the edgiest and literally nothing else. Anyway the page "Offended"/"Are You Offended?" (people provide different titles) was apparently frequently linked to people who were, well, offended. There are two differing descriptions of the page's content itself, them being: 1. that its a gallery, that starts out with cute animal pictures, but as you scroll down it quickly becomes progressively more disturbing, containing gore like injuries, bloody corpses, some with animals, crime scene footage, you name it. 2. That the content is the same, but instead of starting off innocent, the gallery is just gore. Not gonna check which is the true version.
EeI Soup - [long sigh] ok so there's two girls. a container of baby eels. girl 1 starts bending over. there's a funnel
Mr. Hands - (cw for beastiality) so the story behind it is fucking wild and I won't get into it because word limit and I don't remember. But there was this one guy who was part of a beastiality sex tape ring, and he really liked horses. It's a video of him and a few of his friends sneaking(?) into a ranch and he does things that beastialists typically do. With a stallion. It goes wrong. His internal organs get fucking destroyed during the act and he dies. And his buddies didn't even help him or anything just ran away. Also the aforementioned Guy had ties to like, numerous other infamous beastialists & zoosadists I believe he appeared on the Zooey podcast or one of the guys he knew did?? Anyway nearly all of them are connected in some way
1 4 4 4 (without spaces) - a video on youtube with that title that got since taken down but not after a few entire days. It showed Ron.nie Mc.nutt (censored cause i don't wanna summon anyone) dying via suicide. A lot of videos (especially on tiktok, disguised as a regular compilation or a dance and the suddenly cutting to that) liked to show that one back then. Like, a lot. Apparently that was a calculated test attack by some group from over at the dark web, which sounds crazy but there's like, concrete proof for that, apparently?? So yeah anyway
(hit word limit gotta do a line break)
Ogrish/Liveleak - most people probably know what liveleak is at this point, basically it was that really popular site where like uncensored news clips got posted but also a lot of gore and just videos of people dying and getting tortured or whatever you name it. Ogrish was actually the same as Liveleak made by the same people but like, the older version.
Rotten.com - i just feel like I HAVE to mention that one but I have like unfortunately zero info on that aside from like.. very old and (in)famous site, one of the first ones with that content, where its just a bunch of pictures of corpses or whatever. anyway its not up anymore. i think.
Run the Gauntlet - basically an internet challenge that is also a site. So basically, there is 20 videos that play categorized by difficulty (probably wrong the further i go but i think its like: beginner, easy, medium, hard, extreme?), and if you can watch every one of them up until the end without looking away, then you win the challenge and as a reward get absolutely nothing. you can pause/opt out of it anytime you want which is nice i guess. the videos are essentially, just, shock and gore that progressively get worse. for example, the very first video, in the beginner level, is two women arm-wrestling until one of them breaks their arm and you can see the bone poke out. then theres like, maggot stuff, some teenager falls while diving into water(?) and lands on something else and i think impales(?) himself, there's like, nature documentary level stuff with animals that isnt that bad like right after and right before some another gore, there's fake accidents, disturbing movie scenes etc etc etc so not just gore but like, mostly. The very last video is 3 guys 1 hammer, widely regarded as "the worst video on the internet", which without getting into too much detail, is two ukrainian(?) serial killers from some time back who liked to record themselves murdering people, and in this one its a man getting very brutally killed by them with hammers. So anyway actually a few videos on there got either shuffled, or deleted and replaced with others - originally there was a few involving children, but all of them got removed. There is a big discussion on the ethicality of gore videos but if there is something that most people can agree with is that maybe at least leave kids out of this. Anyway so thats that
Kek maga (without the space. i dont want to summon anyone lmaooo) - ok so the creator of the site made a fucking villain monologue one time even. Anyway its a small site with various gore videos that exists purely to scare the living shit out of people that accidentially clicked on anything on it. I thiiink there's like, first a starter page that says nothing(?) else other than "only proceed if youre above 18" and an enter sign that if you click it basically a lot of images and videos of well. gore. start flashing and it think theres like, screaming in the background of it its practically designed in a way to be THE most stressful experience in your life. You can leave but before the pages closes for real you get a box saying "are you sure you want to leave youll lose all your progress if you do :)))))))" and you gotta click yes on that too before you actually can leave so. that is cool. Oh I nearly forgot the maker of that site named it kekmaga because its got maga in it and he wanted to lure older conservative people to it cause they dont know how computers work or something
Nim p (anti-summon space) - similiar to kek-ma but no one talks about it. A lot of youtubers back in the day got linked that page which meant that they "got nimped" which we would consider very rude by todays standards but anyway. Its a page thats just screaming and gore and shock and yadayadayada except its all in like, these boxes(?) that just start appearing and dissapearing and flying around your screen and its WAYYYYY harder to actually close like you gotta really lock in in order to stop having to look at people dying
Women's Alliance - made by the same guy that brought us the maga bait. It is a site that disguises itself as like, a feminist forum for women and female empowerment or something like you know. Before you enter theres of course the starter page which says something along the lines of "the subjects on here may be a bit sensitive and mature so only proceed if ur above 18!!" and then an enter sign that you click. Except its not a feminist forum its actually a site with images of gore flashing on it. Except its got a twist this time and now its exclusively, misogynistic violence like women getting beaten, killed, pictures of their dead bodies, probably also some rape videos too i got no proof for the last one but like, i just know it like why wouldn't it have that too at this point.
