Why do you care so much?
I've been asked this question a few times in the past year - why I spend so much time thinking, reading, and reflecting on antisemitism, especially because I am not Jewish myself. There are a few reasons, really. One of them is that I think antisemitism is a hatred that spawns other hatreds, but even if it did not, it would still be worth studying, because the fact that it is a hatred at all is enough. The fact that antisemitism impacts Jewish people is enough of a reason to oppose it.
It's also because it's important to oppose because of the way it damages the thinking habits of people who believe it. I saw somebody say, "Jew-Hate makes you dumb," once. And though I think it was probably an off the cuff statement for them, it stuck with me, and I think they're right. In my religion, we say hatred is one of the three poisons - it can seriously harm your mental well-being in a way that deepens your suffering in all aspects of life. Often, hatred can also be spread like a contagion. It's something that destroys social harmony and causes severe social dysfunction. And right now, I think antisemitism is the most contagious of hatreds - I've seen people in my life fall off the cliff, I've been able to talk some back from it, and I've seen how so many people wander towards it without any idea that that's what they're doing.
Part of the problem is that antisemites consider themselves righteous in a way I think most racists don't. Often, you'll see "I'm not racist but" I almost never see that with antisemitism. They don't add that qualifier. They just say it. Most racists I know will make a tacit acknowledgment of the racist implications of what they're about to say - antisemitic people don't. They often even engage in anti-Jewish racism while invoking anti-racism.
I don't really know any Jewish people in real life, perhaps only two. But I don't need to know them to know that hating them is wrong. I think I also have a debt of gratitude to many people in the Jewish community because of the advances in Buddhist Studies made by Jewish people, which sounds strange - but it's true that many leading voices and researchers, both in academia and within Buddhism itself happen to be Jewish. I'm not sure why this is, but it's absolutely true. The most prolific translator of Pali into English that I can think of is Jewish. The most impactful Vipassana instructor in America I can think of is Jewish. The most impactful voice in Deity Yoga, for Tibetan Buddhism, is Jewish. People who are Jewish, for some reason, contributed probably more than ex-Christian Americans or atheists combined to the proliferation of Buddhism in the United States.
Buddhists and Jewish people are known to have a close relationship. There are a lot of different reasons for this that I would suggest, but none that add up to explain the amazing contributions to Buddhism made by American Jews.
I think another reason I have for being so interested in antisemitism as a non-Jew is the kind of... political disillusionment I've been experiencing? It's been a disturbing few years, and I haven't seen many people elaborate very well on this feeling of abandonment and horror, witnessing people who you thought shared your values become hateful and deeply violent in their beliefs. The only people I've seen consistently speak about it happen to be Jewish.
I think all of this has helped contribute to a feeling of closeness to Jewish people as a group, despite that I don't really know Jewish people in my real life, and only have one or two Jewish friends online. This year has been a horror show of watching people's minds become twisted - it's so scary in a way I can't quite capture with words right now.
I also sometimes have a back and forth with myself about when and if to mention I'm not Jewish when I talk about antisemitism, because I do think it's totally necessary to explain the perspective from which I speak, but to be honest it feels kind of icky to be like "I'm not Jewish, but antisemitism is bad", because antisemitism is bad whether or not the person saying so isn't Jewish, and I think it might be a negative for people to think "not being Jewish" is something which makes it any less valuable to be against antisemitism, and talk about how against it you are. It's very real that people who talk about antisemitism are perceived to be Jewish, and obviously, it's important not to lead people into thinking you're Jewish when you're not, but adding an "I'm not Jewish" qualifier to statements about antisemitism I worry might contribute to the perception that those against antisemitism are Jewish.
Antisemitism is such an insidious ideology. And it's everywhere. I see it daily in so many different spaces. It has the largest impact on Jewish people, but it also impacts non-Jewish people at times. I distinctly remember being mocked throughout school for "looking Jewish." I think about that Greek restaurant which was attacked because they were thought to be Jewish. Or that man in the Amsterdam violence who tried to help and was then accused of being Jewish himself. It's so deluded, violent, and manages to consume people's thoughts like a parasitic worm in their brain.
Anyways, I planned for this post to be more organized. Oops.

𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐬
𝙶𝚑𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚡 𝚖𝚊𝚕𝚎 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚛 (𝚏𝚝𝚖) 𝚐𝚎𝚗𝚛𝚎: 𝚏𝚕𝚞𝚏𝚏 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚜𝚕𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝𝚕𝚢 𝚜𝚞𝚐𝚐𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚗𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚎𝚡𝚙𝚕𝚒𝚌𝚒𝚝 𝚛𝚎𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚝
The first time you two met, it was rather awkward. Ghost, a fellow recruit, came up to you and asked if you had seen the major, addressing you with Lad. You told him that you didn’t and he shrugged it off going away without saying anything, though the thought of having heard a feminine voice never left his mind. After a few days though, he learned that you were biologically female by hearing the conversation between two Sergeants eyeing you playing some basketball with some other recruits.
As he heard this, in his mind played a low ‘’Fuck’’ and went up to you the first occasion he had to grumble a low sorry. Little did he know that that mistake made your day as he was the first one to address you as a guy and that made your heart flutter with joy and content.
After saying he was sorry, you told him not to worry as you actually liked it and loved the way he said ‘’Lad’’ and ‘’Mate’’ so casually it seemed he already knew you were not fully a girl. He arched his eyebrow in a bit of confusion but then he slowly learned that you were trans, not that he cared since you two weren’t even friends…for now.
After that conversation, you invited him to spar and days of sparring turned into weeks that led to you two becoming good friends. After 6 years of knowing and working alongside each other, you two became boyfriends unbeknownst to anyone. It was a matter of time before your first anniversary came, and Simon made you an important gift: he found spare time to give you some of his shirts and a perfume alongside with a razor to cut your future beard.
5 years after becoming friends, you started T treatment. Progress came slow and steady: you started growing a low stubble and gained more mass reaching Ghost nose-bridge height, but the thing you were most proud of was your bottom growth. Now you could see a part of your body that always felt lacking, it was small yes but you didn’t care! It was there nonetheless and it felt right to have it.
Sure your cock growth did hurt, hell it DID cause massive discomfort, you couldn't sit still nor could stand properly as every rub on the fabric of your boxers gave it a reason to hurt and give you an annoyed sensation, the only way to sit was to part your legs and cross your arms while having an angry-annoyed look on your face.
It was a mess to keep in check your growing sex drive, especially since you shared a room with two other recruits, the only time you could give attention to your cocklet was in the showers as you mainly showered last. You always came back to your room pissed off and in need to rant so, you went to Simon’s.
Simon listened to your angry rant while you walked in his room back and forth trash-talking about your dick giving you problems, he smiled under his balaclava and after having enough he pulled you in his bed locking you up in his much bigger frame. Asking why he did that, he told you he fell in love with you and, after pulling off his balaclava for the first time, kissed lightly the nape of your neck. You hugged him back and told him you loved him too…
Time passed and you stopped shaving constantly, only trimming and taking care of your body hygiene when it was too much, keeping on hold a firm but well maintained bush down there. Simon loved it, he loved your body hair, and most of all he loved how sturdy but soft your toned stomach felt under his head, he started to sleep and rest his head on your stomach while his body was laying between your parted legs, sometimes he would lift up your shirt just enough to see your happy trail and kiss it gently knowing it would have gave you a tickling sensation you couldn’t ignore.
After you acknowledged what he was doing by giving him a frowned look, he would move to ask, with an arched eyebrow, the permission to kiss your inner thighs and you almost always gave him the green to go.
Almost always, after a dosage of testosterone, you were horny as hell. Your boyfriend did notice that and he offered a hand to help from time to time, sucking you off and having his head buried in all that neediness and lapping his tongue around your folds and around your tiny cock he considered a real one. You were embarrassed by all of this as you felt shame rising in your body. Flush red adorned your shoulders and face as you reluctantly put a hand on his dirty-blonde hair to make him continue what he was doing. He nuzzled and devoured every inch of your bottom skin leaving bites and hickeys there that could last for some days. You buckled your hips from time to time, diving into that wonderful sensation that made you see the planet Neptune with his icy rings, you always came hard and painfully since the whole T process gave aches. You assured Simon that it was not his fault and gave him kisses to confirm it…
After some years you two, now Lieutenants, were recruited in Task Force 141 by Captain John ‘’Bravo 6’’ Price. Years passed and now you all were in the common hall having some free time. Here you had a confession to tell to Gaz and Soap.
‘’What is it lad?’’ Kyle spoke with an arched eyebrow.
‘’I…am not biologically a male…but I am trans’’. Ghost gave a look at Johnny who had a bewildered face before it turned to one that was almost laughing itself to death,
‘’Hi Trans…I am John!’’
‘’For Christ sake Johnny!!’’ Ghost got up and started chasing Soap before disappearing outside the common hall’s doors.
You and Kyle, along with Price, looked in each other's eyes before you slammed your head on the table and mumbled a low ‘’Why do I even try…’’ that made the other two laugh their hearts out.

mccoy and spock get together towards the end of the five year mission, and spock is very, "obviously the doctor is aware that vulcans do not have casual relationships and almost always mate for life" and mccoy is, of course, "getting that damn vulcan to open up is like pulling teeth, how am i supposed to know how he feels about me" and this causes new and exciting problems when they're trying to sort out what they're DOING after the end of the five year mission
and mccoy is trying to subtly figure out if spock has any interest in being stationed together, and spock is, of course, the doctor is my mate, of course we will stay together, and mccoy gets offered this really exciting opportunity at a cutting edge research station that's still hands on enough with patients that it's perfect for him, and he kind of tosses it out there one evening to spock, hoping to get something from the bastard, and instead spock just skims through and stone face is like "in my opinion you should accept, it is precisely the opportunity you've been looking for" and mccoy sits there after spock leaves, like okay!!! i guess we're breaking up?? is this not even enough of a relationship for him to consider it a break up??? i may have to kill him. no jury would convict me. what! is! he! thinking!, and spock goes back to his quarters and immediately sends them a message like "i would like to apply for a position as well :)"
and mccoy still won't fucjing SAY what he MEANS because he doesn't want to be left vulnerable now that he's convinced himself that spock simply Doesn't Care Enough, and every time he at least tries to get like, some meaningful goodbye moments???? spock keeps blowing him off??? meanwhile spock is like "it is rewarding to know that the doctor wants to spend time with me, but i know he will miss our friends, and as his mate it is important for me to make sure he spends enough time with his friends before we all leave the ship", and then when mccoy says he's going to go visit joanna before he starts his new assignment, spock's like =/ wish he invited me along but I will respect his wishes and says he's going to go to vulcan between assignments, and then it's over! they're saying goodbye! and spock! just! leaves! and mccoy is just. absolutely furious and trying So Hard to Not Care but also!!! so!!!! furious!!!!
so anyway imagine his surprise when he arrives at the research facility for his new assignment three weeks later, and they're like "doctor mccoy!! so nice to meet you! your husband arrived two days ago, and he took it upon himself to set up your shared quarters and your office to your liking, but let us know if you need anything else, we're so thrilled to have you on board!"
and mccoy is just.
"i'm sorry. what did you just say?"
and spock comes walking out like everything is normal, and gives him the little vulcan finger kiss, and turns to the welcome party and says, "husband is a simplification of a vulcan term - we have not performed the human marriage rites, but he is my mate"
anyway yeah mccoy probably tries to strangle him.
they make a great first impression.

Missing Sneak Peak (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)
The truth is out about Marinette's predicament, and to everyone's surprise, Chloe calls Ladybug:
"I need a favor."
It was a standoff.
Ladybug had faced down akumas, false heroes, monsters of man and magic, and even Hawk Moth himself. And not once had she ever backed down or given up.
But Chloe Bourgeois was nothing if not stubborn. She was long used to getting what she wanted.
And she wasn't going to let something as simple as facing an opponent with a mask and superpowers deter her.
“Look, I worked with you before. That has to mean something, right? I helped you before! Against my Dad and against Hawk Moth on Heroes Day! You…you owe me.”
Ladybug looked unimpressed. “The Miraculous do not entitle you to anything, Chloe.”
“No, hear met out!” Chloe insisted. “You trusted me to help you. And I did! I put my life on the line as your teammate. So…so that warrants something, doesn’t it? I deserve something! A wish. An ask. Just one request.”
The hero frowned. But Chloe was undeterred.
“So look, just…bring her back already. Bring back Marinette Dupain-Cheng and every stupidly good and positive thing she brings with her, and I’ll…I don’t know. I’ll find some way to return the favor.”
Ladybug simply stared at her. Blank. Unfeeling.
“I can pay you! Even superheroes need money, right?”
“Chloe….”
“I’ll be better! No more akumas, I promise!”
“Chloe.”
“I’ll be nicer! I’ll stop bugging my Dad for things and stop causing problems!”
“That's not—h”
“I'll donate my wardrobe to charity!”
“I can't just—"
“I’ll stop making comments to my classmates! I’ll just shut up completely! I’ll get voice surgery if I have to!”
“Chloe, that’s not how it works—”
“NO! It HAS to work!” She shouted, cutting her off. Because she refused—she refused to accept any other answer. “You’re Ladybug! You always make it work! So you can just make this work, too!”
Silence.
“Please.” Chloe begged. “This is the one good thing I have. I don’t want to—I can’t give it up!”
Ladybug simply looked at her, almost pityingly.
“Please." Chloe repeated. "Just this one thing. That's all.”
Ladybug simply shook her head, leaving Chloe feeling hollow.
And without even a word, Ladybug turned away.
Chloe just stared after her in shock.
Because Ladybug was Ladybug. A hero. THE hero. Always there. Always helpful. Always caring.
So why…?
Why didn’t she care now?
Then…
…it hit her.
And Chloe laughed.
How could she not?
“Of course.“ She laughed mournfully. “Of course she had gotten to you too.”
Because of course even Ladybug would be different.
Because of course if anyone could have helped make a Ladybug into the great hero she was today, it would be Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
----------------------------------------
“Chloe?" Adrien called out as he entered her room, worried and unsure. "Is everything okay? You were crying on the phone and…”
He froze, seeing Chloe curled up next to her Bee signal.
“Chloe?”
She didn’t move or answer immediately. He was worried she didn’t even realize he was there, given how blankly she seemed to be staring into nothing.
“Chloe?” He asked as he approached.
Silence.
Unsure of what else to do, he sat next to her and waited.
Chloe had gotten like this before. A long, long time ago.
She would have these times where she'd get quiet and small. And he would sit next to her, just barely touching. Close enough that she'd know he was there and could decide from there if she wanted to lean on him or push away. He always left it up to her. Always waited. Because Chloe never pushed him away. And with enough time, she would voice her feelings, just loud enough that he could hear.
...and sure enough...
“My Mom forgot my name today.” She whispered.
Adrien paused.
He knew how much that had to hurt her. Chloe’s Mother was everything to her. Everything she idolized and admired. Everything she wanted and wanted to be. He’d never seen her happier than when her Mom settled back in Paris and returned to her life.
It had meant everything to her. And to lose it again…
“I’m sorry, Chloe.” He said, leaning closer to her. “I thought things were better.”
“They were.” She sniffed, trying to hold back the hurt. “They were better. And do you know why?”
She laughed, startling him with how bitter it sounded.
“Chloe?”
“It was because of Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Because of course it was!" She started off lowly, but her tone grew angrier the more she spoke. "Because of course she is! Because of. Freaking. COURSE if ANYONE was to get my Mom to do better and treat me like I’m actually family and just be a mom, it would be stupid perfect Marinette!”
She curled in on herself with a sob.
“Not…not me.”
Despite her efforts, the tears began to flow.
“And…and now—”
She hiccuped, forcing herself to speak.
“I heard it, you know. They're saying that Marinette got hit by that akuma and now not only did she disappear, but everything—everything connected to her is disappearing, too. Like…how? How does that even work? How does one person affect that much? She was just…just a little nobody! She didn’t matter!” Chloe lowered her head. “At least, she didn’t use to.”
Adrien frowned, wanting to argue, but forced himself to not speak.
Chloe filled the silence instead.
“And it was scary learning she was fading, because that could happen to you or me or anyone, but it was like no big deal, right? Because  yeah, she’s done some things and helped some people but it's not like she did that much, right? So her being gone wouldn't matter that much. Surely she didn’t impact me.” Her eyes clenched shut. “But she did, and now it’s hitting me in the face just how much of what I had was because of her and…and…”
She tried to wipe at her eye, only for more tears to trail.
“And now just like that! It’s all gone! Just back to how it was before. Like—like it never happened! Mom caring about me? Loving me? Yeah right! When did that ever happen? It wasn't me being awesome or a good daughter or following in her footsteps that got my Mom's attention!" She smiled falsely, tears falling from her eyes in a sad show of her true feelings.
"Nope! It wasn't anything about me! It wasn't even about Mom realizing she loves me! Everything we got to have was all only because of Marinette Dupain-Cheng!” She exclaimed with a wild waving of her hands. "Isn't that lovely? Isn't that awesome? Isn't it great how she just fixed everything and brought us together into the happy little family I'd been wanting for years?"
“Chloe…”
She shook her head, showing a bitter smile.
“And now because of stupid akumas and stupid magic, Marinette isn’t here. And because she isn’t here, she wasn’t there. And because she wasn’t there, it didn’t happen. And because it didn’t happen, everything’s just…poof! Gone! Just like that! Just like magic!”
She clenched her fists, her smile falling. “And now I know it never would have happened on its own. Not with just me. Not without her. It was only because of her that I had my Mom back at all. And now that she’s gone, I’m gonna lose that too and…and…”
She sobbed.
“It’s not fair.”
It wasn’t, he agreed internally because what could he actually say?
He understood her feelings about her Mom. It was hold he felt with his own Dad. Never feeling enough. And to have someone else come in and fix that…he wasn’t sure whether he would be grateful or hurt. He was even less sure how he would respond.
…he would feel sad. He knew that much.
“And the worst part? Ladybug is just the same. Harsh sometimes, but not like that. Never like that.”
Silence.
A breath.
“What does that say?” Chloe asked. “When her being gone makes that big of a difference? With my hero AND with my Mom. Not me. Not anyone. No. It's because of Her.”
Adrien stared in surprise. He'd known Ladybug was off, but even Chloe had noticed a difference? It was jarring.
“Ladybug is?”
Chloe wiped her tears. “She's different. You've noticed, haven't you?” She paused, before shrugging. “Though maybe you haven't been around her enough to. But she's different, too. Everyone is different without her. Ladybug. My Mom...I get why. I remember what happened to start it, but still...”
He had as Chat, but he couldn't tell her that.
“And I hate it!” She suddenly exclaimed, anger rushing through her. “I hate it because it means it was nothing about me that made it even happen or made me worth it in the first place but it was everything about her and I hate that but I’m so selfish because—yeah okay, I hate it but I’ll still take it if it means I get to have this and it’s still better than not having Mom at all even if I only got it this way but now I can’t even have that much anymore and soon I never will have had it at all and it'll be like it never happened and it’s not fair!” She ended up shouting, slamming her fist into the ground.
“Chloe!”
“I’m not good, but it’s not fair!”
He hesitated for a moment.
But it was only a moment before he drew her into his arms and let her cry.
He wanted to speak and reassure her. Insist that she was wrong and she was more than enough. It was the right thing to say. The kind thing.
But he was still learning and growing and still so very scared of saying the wrong thing.
Nino had helped him. Listened to him. Helping him without even saying a thing.
Because it was what he needed…because sometimes people needed to make their voices heard more than they needed kind words.
And Adrien could do that much.
So he sat by her, waiting in solidarity and support. The friend and listener she needed as she cried.

After making that essay about all my gripes with act three, I wanna delve into what rubbed me the wrong way about episode seven. Now, don’t get me wrong, it is my second favorite episode of the season (right behind episode four) but everything just felt off, and now I’m able to explain why.
It felt fake. Artificial. Too good to be true. Too polished. Everyone in Zaun was basically a Piltie lite and I hated to see it. I know Zaun doesn’t even technically exist, as it never did officially get its freedom, but Piltover and Zaun are known as twin cities for a reason. They are intertwined, yes, but also completely different. Zaun has its own vibe. It’s punk, patchwork, unpolished, mismatched. But also vibrant, brilliant, thoughtfully crafted and beautiful in its own way. It’s unique. It feels so real, and for the au to strip all that away and make Zaun feel like a shell of its former self was not it.
Zaun has such a rich culture. Not without its own host of flaws ofc, but what culture is perfect? And obviously there are political reasons for why Zaunites do things the way they do (it’s because Piltover’s oppressions forces them to get creative). While I resent the reasons as to why Zaunites have to be so resourceful and creative, I adore the things they were able to build in spite of their hardships. Makes me identify with Zaun even more. The au took all that away. Everything that made Zaun what it is wasn’t there, and I didn’t care for it.
Furthermore, the whole au falls apart if you stop and think about it. Why would Vi’s death be anything more than a drop in the bucket to Piltover? They had been oppressing Zaun for centuries? Vi is not only a Zaunite, but she was also a teenager. There’s a lot to be said about how teenagers aren’t really seen as kids by a lot of folks, and are “less innocent” and their lives are seen as “less important” (though ofc no one would admit that have that kind of bias). Plus when you consider that by virtue of being a Zaunite, Vi would already be considered “less than”, her life would not matter to Piltover WHATSOEVER. Best case, and I do mean best case scenario, they give Vander some financial compensation so he could afford to give Vi the proper funeral she deserves. But I’d bet money they never would’ve even considered doing that if I’m being realistic.
Also, that’s just a horrible message to send. Vi, the parentified child, who spent her whole life fighting like hell to protect her loved ones, had to die in order for not just her family, but her city to flourish. HUH??? That’s an awful thing to imply! Vi dying would NOT have lead to everyone else being fine. It would not have led Vander and Silco to forgive each other. It would NOT led to Zaun prospering economically. It would not have led to Zaun becoming just like Piltover in the worst of ways. That doesn’t even make any sense! Correlation does not equal causation, but those two things have no correlation to begin with! Obviously I know that’s not the message the writers meant to convey, but that’s what they ended up doing imo, and I don’t like that.
Lastly, why are we acting like Hextech is the problem? The oppressive system of Piltover existed way before Hextech came along, so why would its lack of being there affect things that much? Cause if not Hextech, some other revolutionary technology would’ve been invented that somehow only benefits some and hurts everyone else who isn’t as privileged. And yes, ofc I know Hextech only exists precisely BECAUSE of the systemic inequalities between Piltover and Zaun, but it is by no means wholly responsible for these inequalities. Responsible for widening the gap between Piltover and Zaun? Yes! Responsible for the existence of the gap in the first place? Hell no! And it felt like it was framed that way.
Anyways TL;DR I wasn’t a fan of the au episode because I felt like it unintentionally sent a horrible message and didn’t stay true to what makes Zaun, Zaun. It ripped out all its best parts and functionally turned it into Piltover Jr. and a fan of that I am NOT

When Bateman told you that he was going on a long business trip, you were worried because you were already too attached to him, but you didn't know how to tell him that you would miss him, considering that your lover despised any displays of affection—including any drama about you being sad when he was gone. But before you could even come up with a plan for how to broach this sensitive subject, Patrick gave you a large box that he asked you to open once he left on a business trip. And even though you probably knew the contents of this gift, you decided to wait and do what the man told you to do, so you waited as long as it took. You were so determined to be a good girl and play by the rules that you even forgot about this box because your life was so busy as usual.
The day you and Bateman had your first video call after he left, the first thing he did was ask if you had opened his present yet, and as soon as he said it, you almost choked on the air, both embarrassed and disappointed in yourself. How could you forget? It took you a few moments to find the box that was obediently waiting for you in your bedroom and you opened it only to find a small plush bear, some chocolates and sweets, your favorite perfume and... at first you thought it was a dildo, but then you read the description on the small pink box that told you it was a clitoris vibro-stimulator, which according to Patrick's handwriting was the best model so far. Rolling your eyes, you picked up the sex toy without unpacking it. Surprisingly for you, Patrick didn't insist on opening it as soon as possible, the man explained that you needed some time to find out how to use his 'little sweet gift' so that you could both have some fun.
God, that was embarrassing.
But that was just the beginning.
That day, you were lying on the couch in your living room, the only light coming from the screen of your monitor, which was placed on the coffee table right in front of your splayed figure. The towel you had placed underneath you was already soaked with your juices as you lost count of your orgasms, and Patrick was like a sentinel watching you from the other side of your laptop, his hazel eyes catching every little jolt you made, every little shudder and gasp.
"C'mon, honey," the man murmured, his soft, velvety voice coming through the speakers and making you melt like butter. "You can give me another one."
"No," you replied, on the verge of tears from the overstimulation. "I can't...this is already too much, it hurts!"
Panting, you removed the sex toy from your swollen clit, your legs still shaking from the last climax, your pussy so wet and bruised that you were afraid to even touch it.
"Sweetheart," Bateman called to you, knowing that this nickname would break down any difference you were trying to make. "I know you can. You're such a good girl for me, you always are."
Shit, shit, shit!
"Fuck...fuck you, Patrick!" You blurted out. "I don't want to gush all over my laptop!"
"God, if that's a problem, you can have as many laptops as you want. That's my word."
Bateman's tone became more and more demanding, for a moment you even wanted to end the call and close the laptop, but his voice, his sweet praises—he was a perfect manipulator, he knew every little weak spot he could press.
Biting your lower lip, you turned on the vibrator and slowly slid it back between your legs, the second it touched your hypersensitive flesh, you almost screamed and took it away, causing Patrick to tsk so loudly as if he was right next to you.
"Don't remove it!" He almost barked in a commanding voice.
"I CAN'T!" Your voice was about to break. "It's too fucking much! My skin is burning!"
And while it was true that it hurt pretty badly, you could feel another orgasm building up inside of you, your inner walls spasming around nothing as you tried to get the sex toy back onto your engorged bud.
"Listen to my voice," Patrick almost purred, probably changing tactics and trying to be less intrusive. "Don't push the toy too close to your clit," his lecturing was the last thing you expected to hear from him and somehow it made you feel so high, so fucking overwhelmed. "Let it vibrate within you...remember how I do it with my tongue?"
Damn it!
Closing your eyes, you lay down more comfortably and spread your legs wider, giving him the full display of your soaking cunt, the soft material of the sex toy sliding along your skin, and when you dared to press the tip of it to your little tip, Bateman suddenly interfered, causing you to almost bite your cheek to the point of bleeding.
"Turn on maximum speed," the bastard added, his smug face getting even more cocky as he watched you fall apart right before his eyes. "DO IT!"
"Fuck...f-fuck," you cursed under your breath, but you followed his order, unable to think straight, your fingers not listening and barely finding the button on the vibrator, but once they did, you moaned so loudly you were afraid someone would call the police. "I...I'm gonna cum...again.......aaa-hhh-fuck!"
To be honest, you didn't expect this little toy to be so powerful, its vibration piercing through you, sending a million tingles to your most sensitive spot, pushing you over the edge. With your eyes closed, your legs buckled, your toes curled with pleasure, you did your best not to take the vibrator away, feeling your pussy clenching until you squirted, and you did it so hard that the towel dampened even more, but you didn't really care.
"Good girl," Bateman muttered in a gruff voice. "Such an obedient girl...I'm so proud of you," he watched you come undone without blinking. "I'm so fucking proud of you!"
Breathing heavily, you finally turned off the toy and let it fall to the floor, your legs still trembling, the wetness pooling down your inner thighs—now you were nothing but a wet, trembling mess - you couldn't even open your eyes, knowing that this asshole was probably shining like a fucking Rolex he was wearing.
After a brief respite, as you slowly began to come down from your high, you turned your unfocused gaze to your laptop and heard Patrick's soft chuckle, the sound almost mocking.
"Jeez, I'd drink you dry," he rasped into the microphone of his headphones. "I'd suck on that pretty little pussy until I couldn't fucking breathe-"
"Stop," you squealed suddenly, barely able to contain yourself from the phantom pain in your core of how much you needed him to stuff you with his beefy dick. "Stop saying things like that..."
"Oh, babe," Patrick crooned, smiling at you from the screen of your laptop. "You know I would, and it drives you crazy, doesn't it?"
You didn't answer this question, but looked at him more seriously. "And what about you? Aren't you going to put on a show for me?"
The man smiled before he lowered the camera so that you could see his white boxers, which were bulging because of how hard he was. Without saying anything, Patrick traced the outline of his cock through the smooth material before giving himself a little squeeze that made you almost drool.
"Who knows?" Bateman chuckled suddenly, fixing the camera in its previous position. "Maybe... if I was in the right mood..." his lips curled into a sly, almost devilish smile. "I'd show you that I miss you no less, darling. Believe me."

P.S. Thank you for reading until the end! I don’t have a taglist. You can follow my writing community to know when I update!💞
Lemme know if you want part two with Patrick jerking off during a video call, lmao.

Kiss Me More. pt 2:
silco x f!reader - 1.8k words - SFW
series summary: “Whatever, all I’m saying is, I can teach you how to kiss,” Silco insists, before adding just a little too nonchalantly, “You know, if you want to.”
cw: first dates, jealous silco, silco is a little shit, silco causing problems on purpose, mild angst, mild sexual references, fluff, friends to lovers, young silco
PART 1
-
One agonising, excruciatingly long week later and neither you nor Silco have mentioned the kiss again. In fact, Silco has been so weird, (well, weirder than he normally is anyhow) that you’re genuinely starting to worry you accidentally damaged some of his brain cells when you pulled on his hair.
He holds himself all weirdly now, like he’s forgotten how sitting or standing works. And he stares and stares and stares at you, and then scowls when you look back or ask him what’s wrong.
You even catch him just standing staring at your bedroom door one day, smack bang in the middle of the corridor, but when you question what he’s doing he just grunts at you and slams into his own bedroom, the tips of his ears flushed crimson.
This, frankly unhinged, behaviour continues right up until you’re leaving for your date with Seven.
Vander, the wonderful, had said you looked lovely, and Silco, the prat, had just scowled at your outfit and crossed his arms in a huff.
Not wanting to spend the whole of your first ever date giving a rage-fuelled rant about your idiot best friend, you’d taken a deep breath and magnanimously chosen to just roll your eyes at him, instead of picking a fight.
You can get him back later by unpicking the seams of his favourite shirt, anyway. That’ll show him.
But as you’d looked over your shoulder to say goodbye to the boys, fingertips hanging loosely off the door handle, you’d caught Silco surreptitiously looking you up and down with a surprisingly soft look on his face.
It had thrown you for a bit of a loop, the little motion and facial expression re-playing in your head over and over again as you’d walked through the streets of Zaun…
But then there’s no time to think of it anymore because you’re suddenly on your date with Seven - who you think you like. It’s a bit difficult to tell, honestly.
The date goes well (you guess, you’ve never been on one before, so there’s nothing to really compare it to). He’d taken you to dinner at one of the local food stalls because the restaurants on The Promenade are far, far too expensive, but at least the food had been familiar.
Plus, it was way nicer than any of Sil’s burnt, home-made meals… Probably. (Okay, maybe you’ve grown a little bit fond of them after all this time.)
You and Seven had talked for most of the date. And you’d gotten to know each other a little bit better. Well, you’d got to know Seven better; you didn’t really get much of a chance to talk about yourself, in between his monologues.
And sure, you didn’t kiss, but he did hold your hand on the way home.
Now, as you reach your apartment building, Seven insists on walking you up to your flat, even gesturing for you to climb the stairs before him with a sweep of his arm. And when you finally arrive outside your apartment door, he turns to you with a strange, smug look on his face.
“Well, I suppose this brings an end to our evening,” he says, voice dropping in a way that you assume is meant to be seductive, but honestly just makes him sound like he needs a cough drop. “But there is one more thing I want to do before I leave.”
Before you even have a chance to respond, Seven is backing you up against the door, arms slithering around you until they rest low around your waist (a little too low if you’re being honest). An uncomfortable feeling settles in your chest but then he’s leaning down and lining his lips up with yours and-
Shit, this is it. He’s going to kiss you.
You heave a sharp intake of breath and desperately try to remember everything Silco had told you during your little practice session, but it’s currently quite difficult to think properly when your heart is drumming in your chest and your hands are shaking.
Of course, thinking about Silco must summon him because instead of feeling the sensation of lips on lips, you’re suddenly experiencing the sensation of falling, as the door opens behind you.
Without the solid, wooden surface holding your upper back in place, you tip backwards with a squeal, only saved from falling flat on your arse by Seven tightening his arms around you and setting you back on your feet.
Instantly, you want his suffocating arms off of you, so you subtly shove him away as you turn to face the culprit of the opening door.
“Silco!”
“Hey, you’re back,” he announces, a little too casually. It doesn’t match his bizarre, half-amused, half-something-else expression at all. Or the death grip he has on the door frame. “Great, we need to change the bed sheets.”
You almost sputter at the choice of phrasing. Not his bed sheets, the bed sheets, like there’s only one bed in the apartment, and needing to change them implies…
Before you can clarify, because you don’t want your date getting the wrong idea, Silco turns to look at Seven, eyes narrowing dangerously.
Uh, oh. You know that look. That’s his ‘I’m going to make your life a fucking misery’ look.
“Oh, who’s your little friend?” Silco asks, voice deceptively sweet.
“Seven,” he responds, holding a hand out for Sil to shake, which he promptly ignores. “And you are?”
“Really, very busy right now, so if you’ll just excuse us.” Silco dismisses him, resting one hand on the small of your back as he tries to herd you through the doorway and into the flat.
You squirm out of his grasp, annoyance levels rising until they’re practically reaching Piltover.
“Silco, just get the stuff out the airing cupboard and I’ll be with you in a min-"
“It’s okay, baby girl, I’d best be going anyway.” Seven interrupts you, stepping even closer to you. His voice does that stuffy, flu thing again, and he acts like he’s speaking only to you, but it’s definitely loud enough for Silco to hear. “I had a great time this evening.”
“Me too.” You smile at him with tight lips, despite it being a bit of a lie. It just feels like it’s something you’re supposed to say at the end of a date.
“I’d love to do it again sometime,” he continues, voice taking on an overly suggestive tone. “I’ll see you at the shop? We can arrange another date… maybe some late night swimming?”
You feel your face heat up at the thought, and it certainly doesn’t help that Silco is a foot away, burning a hole into the side of your skull.
Janna, you really hope Seven doesn’t try to kiss you again in front of Sil, you think you might die of embarrassment. You pretend to scratch at your nose, subtly covering your mouth, just in case he tries again.
“Uh, I'll see you later,” you say noncommittally. “Goodnight, Seven.”
Except, it doesn’t seem to work because he just grabs the hand covering your face and brings it up to his lips, pressing a rough kiss against your fingers. It’s an effort not to squirm.
“Goodnight, princess,” he drawls, winking when you just stare at him.
Then, he finally notices the intense death stare Silco is sending his way, dropping your hand to shoot daggers back at your best friend before turning on his heel and sauntering down the stairs.
With Seven gone, a weird sense of relief floods through you, but it quickly dissipates, leaving you with nothing but the urge to smack Silco round the back of his stupidly beautiful head. You don’t, though.
Instead, you march back inside the flat, hackles raised as Silco closes the door behind you and leans back on it. He dusts his hands off with two wide sweeps up and down like the dramatic idiot he is.
“And good riddance.”
Slowly, you turn to face him fully, carefully watching his eyes widen slightly in mild alarm.
“What the hell was that?”
“What?” he asks, really, genuinely confused.
You could throttle him.
“That!”
“I’m afraid I don’t quite know what you mean,” Silco replies.
“You were so rude to him!” you explode. “And you…”
You want to say that he implied that the two of you share a bed, but you can’t bring yourself to say it. Hell, you know your cheeks are absolutely burning at just the thought of it. (And not even just the usual things you think of when sharing a bed with someone, but even just the thought of waking up next to him, seeing him when he’s all relaxed and soft in the morning. It hurts to even picture it.)
“Yeah, well, I don’t like him.” Silco interrupts your runaway daydream.
“Why? You don't even know him!” you protest.
“I just don’t like the look of him.”
“Silco!"
“What? I don’t think he’s right for you. I mean, did you hear him? I had a lovely evening, princess, why don’t we go skinny dipping for our next date, doll.” The mocking accent he puts on is far from flattering. “Ugh, what a slimeball.”
“He doesn’t even sound like that!” You don’t know why you even bother protesting, he’s clearly on a roll.
“And what kind of a name is Seven, anyway? Do you think his parents hated him too? Do you think that’s why he’s such a prick?”
You sigh heavily.
“I’m going to bed,” you announce, turning away from him to walk through the living room and towards your bedroom.
Except you don’t get very far because Silco catches your hand and gently pulls you back to him, until you’re stood holding hands in the middle of the room.
“Wait, I actually need your help making my bed,” he says, face and voice melting into something genuine (and irritatingly endearing).
But not endearing enough after all the shit he’s been putting you through this last week.
You pull your fingers out of his grip and slap at his hand when he tries to grab them again.
“Get Vander to do it,” you snap, perhaps a little too harshly.
“But he’s still at work!” He’s borderline pleading now.
“Well, you’ll just have to sleep in dirty sheets then, won’t you?” You say, muttering a sardonic little, “Twat,” under your breath as you finally walk away.
Predictably, Silco is in a massive sulk for a ridiculous amount of time after that.
He doesn’t even stop when you finally offer to help him change his bed sheets, watching him messily tucking the corners of the bed sheets under his threadbare mattress in silence, until you bat his hands away and show him how to do it properly (honestly, the boy is useless without you).
By the end of the week, you decide that you just don’t understand him and probably never will. (It still doesn’t stop you from thinking about him every second of every day, though.)

⚠️arcane s2 act iii spoilers // criticism ⚠️
i kind of hated the end of arcane. hear me out.
i don't wanna rain on anyone's parade but we can all agree season 2's pacing was super breakneck. not a lot got explained or was given the proper time to develop or be addressed (at least in front of us, the audience, that is - but even then, some things could've been hinted at better) and this goes for both lore, motivations and interpersonal character relationships. (and i can give many examples such as the black rose, maddie's true motivations, caitlyn and vi's fight, jinx rallying up the undercity, viktor and ambessa's plans diverging, etc. but instead, i'll tell you what i think went wrong with what we got to see in the last three eps)
seeing where ep 7 left us made me think "okay ep 8 will start from the same exact spot and we'll see from there" and ofc my expectations were defied but that's not my main problem. i needed to know what happened to ekko, jayce and heimerdinger but even more than that, i wanted to see jinx grieve isha in her own way (by herself and not through being asked or guilt tripped to help someone else's agenda bcuz she clearly had little intrinsic motivation to unite the undercity over a common goal after silco's death) and internalize what she'd meant to isha - and that becoming jinx's catalyst to rally up the undercity. i wanted her to understand why this orphan from the undercity's mines sacrificed herself to save jinx - the symbol of a cause greater than her. i needed her to see what unifying zaun and making tangible institutional change to the undercity would mean in a way sevika never would've been able to show her. it would mean no more powders, no more ishas. not one more. breaking the cycle of violence, poverty, oppression, somewhat like what silco said in ep 9 (which she interpreted as 'you're the problem, so kys' and she attempted to until somehow ekko convinced her to help. how, why and did she even unite the undercity at all or just make her big hot air balloon late-to-the-party entrance with the firelights to a stray kids banger while sevika did all the work down in zaun?).
anyway, ep 8 threw us in for a loop in an alternative universe (and i loved it, don't get me wrong, but considering there were only 2 normal length eps left, it scared me just as much). instrumentally to the plot, we got to see ekko's main ability develop, and we saw jayce's reasons for shooting viktor. the main conflict of the show, the piltover/zaun one, if those 1,5 seasons so far were anything to go by, just got set aside for the time being. over halfway through the season, we've got a new big bad - the possibility of everyone getting possessed by the viktor/hexcore and becoming part of The Glorious Evolution™. it felt like a movie about racism and police brutality added aliens in the last 5 minutes to force oppressed and oppressors to (not all that successfully) work together, massive losses were suffered by everyone, and then the overarching motif wasn't about love or humanity or rebuilding (things that have come up repeatedly in other episodes, including the one ep literally called 'the messege hidden within the pattern'), it was "bad things happen sometimes, but good things happen sometimes too. it is what it is. i guess." like. duh?? as a viewer, this was quite the disappointing ending takeaway from such a masterpiece of a show but more on that in a second.
narratively, we saw a butterfly effect situation in ep 8 that answered the question of 'what could've been?' but even that answer confused me. the undercity was already oppressed and in socioeconomical peril before jayce's hextech - vi's death during that last job (which makes me believe zaun was the same in both universes because why else would they be poor enough to steal from piltover?) prevented it from being invented and thus stopping other things in piltover from happening but how did it lead to progress in the undercity? what happened and what was the key to it all along? why did shimmer not get invented, how did zaun and piltover seemingly unite, why were zaunites all of a sudden seemingly so much materially and culturally richer and better educated in just a few years? (that aside, i love ekko's determination to get back and save his universe's zaun. i loved the alternative jinx and i loved how everyone was wearing vests 10/10)
then, ep 9 felt like a bunch of confusing things happening one after the other to the point it almost overwhelmed me and i was left thinking i didn't understand a single thing from it (except maybe that one scene - that, i understood spiritually). and the first maybe 90% of ep 10 felt like i was just repeatedly getting hit, and again - no time to breathe, no consolation, no resolve, just receiving bad news after bad news, like getting beaten to the ground with stones.
and at the very end, after some of the ends get tied, caitlyn has her speech, which to me, sounds more depressing and hollow than anything else. she talks ambiguously of history and of ups and downs and of a story not yet over, but there's no promise for the future, no motivation to keep going, no bigger picture, no lesson learned. we're not shown much work being done either (and i'll make a separate post examining why it felt that way to me and a separate one abt how i interpreted her conversation w/ vi at the very end). i was left a bit confused, somewhat unsatisfied, and very, very sad.
did anyone else feel that way too? what did i miss, did i misinterpret or misunderstand something? please i'm going insane i had two different friends tell me they had no idea what i was talking about and that the ending was everything they wanted and more

That ask about Hades appearance was something I had thought about before too, and reading that it was immediate and he was aware of it now makes me wonder just how he felt about it, was it hard to get used to or was he just like "oh, okay"? Did anyone expect that to happen at all? Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions btw you're awesome 💐
No problem, anon!
As for how he felt about it, well... there was a sense of alienation there, for a while. His body had changed, very much without his input, and while the changes were ultimately to aspects of himself that he didn't care much about one way or another, it was still quite jarring, and compounded the fact that he suddenly had powers he'd never had before, had suddenly, in fact, become not just a user but a font of magic, and, most alarmingly, now caused living things around himself to die.
It was a lot. Getting to the place he's at now, where he's still a bit sad about some aspects of his power but more or less accepts it as part of him, and has come to think of his physical form now as more 'his' than it ever used to be... took time. In some ways it's still in progress—as many people have noticed, he is still insecure about his power in the sense that he worries it will make others afraid of him. He, himself, has accepted it, but he knows not everyone necessarily does or will, and that part's still the source of some angst.
He knew what he was getting into in the sense that he knew becoming the Underworld would change him. But actually experiencing it was very different. Sometimes you have to go through something to really get it, and this was one of those cases.

Bummy stans truly believe that their ship that has maybe an hour of screen time collectively between 2 seasons has the bigger fandom. Yet if you go on tiktok Buddie edits are getting 20k+ likes. (You can see a post I made about that here. Where a bunch of Buddie TT's made right after 808 were up to 10/20k in a day.)
Journalists are also always eager to talk to Ryan, Oliver, and Tim about Buddie. They ask about it in basically every single interview now. B/T never got that kind of attention ever.
Bummys continue to play the victims making it seem like they've been the ones repeatedly attacked by us. Yet I've been around the 911 fandom for years and never seen the kind of toxicity, harassment, and drama that I have this year. If Buddie fans were always the problem this would be something well known in 911 fandom and likely in fandom spaces in general but it's not. It would also make sense that the show would want to distance themselves from our fandom if all we did was cause issues like harass the show and the actors (like Bummy's allege) but they don't. Most people involved with 911 have shown support for Buddie and us especially in the past two seasons when it's clear they've been working towards Buddie canon happening with ABC.
I'm not saying Buddie fans are totally innocent and never caused any issues because I know some have. But pretty much since 704 aired we've been having to deal with Bummy stans telling us that we were homophobic for not liking their ship. We've watched as the 911 News account was harassed and journalists were threatened with doxxing just for posting positive Buddie content. During Pride month there was repeated harassment towards Buddie fans for wanting to celebrate Eddie for being gay/demi. And lately Bummy's have been hurling a lot of hate towards Oliver because they blame him for their ship ending.
Bummy's talk all this trash about our ship and our fandom but the fact is they wish they had what we have. They wish Oliver talked about their ship like he does Buddie. They wish he posted pics of Lou constantly like he does Ryan. They wish b/t had the amount of screentime Buddie have had. They wish that b/t had the kind of scenes together that Buddie get to have. Almost all of Buck's most meaningful moments in s7 happened with Eddie not Tommy.
They also wish Tommy was Eddie in that they wish he looked like Lou but acted like Eddie. Look at some of the posts they make or their fics, where they talk about how much Tommy gets Buck or is there for him that was never how it was in canon. But you know who is there for Buck and who gets him better than anyone? Eddie.
Bummy's also talk about how important and beloved their ship is but it's not and never will be. Both Oliver and Tim have tried to make it as clear as possible in their interviews that b/t was supposed to be a stepping stone relationship for Buck. Tommy was never ever intended to be Buck's endgame love. That is Eddie. Buddie is the ground breaking ship and it will be something everyone will be talking about when it goes canon. People are literally starting to watch 911 for the first time during the hiatus now that they know Buddie canon is coming.
There is a part of me that feels the tiniest bit of empathy for these people because I know what it feels to lose a character and ship you love. But at the same time it's also hard to feel bad for a fandom that has been repeatedly abusive and continues to be and continues to insist Tommy is coming back even though every single thing is screaming how much that's not happening.
I just really hope that in these few months of break from the show we all have that they'll gain some perspective or at the least go follow Lou in some other project. It's been genuinely exhausting having to deal with this for over half a year now and I miss when we could just enjoy shipping Buddie in peace.

Ironically, Spite isn't fully evil. He is a capricious child, quite demanding, but at the same time, he has an understanding of who is dear to Lucanis and who is a threat to him and a danger.
He is like a certain Venom, which increases the strength of the Raven (Luc) due to its demonic essence and is a catalyst for normal sleep for its owner. He is like a cat that doesn't let you fall asleep, expecting that if the owner is still inclined to rest, you can play pranks.
If your Rook is in a relationship with a Demon, then you will probably notice (if your character isn't against a third contradictory object in the relationship) that Lucanis and Spite have already become one, and sometimes, one behaves like the other, without losing himself in his stable character. I think the educational talks with Spite and the code of the Raven itself made him an ally and a friend. They themselves didn't notice how attached they became to each other, even despite some denial and problems that Spite can still cause, Lucanis accepts him. He confidentially places a cup of coffee in front of him, confidentially prepares a place for him next to him, showing how the demonic entity has become almost tangible and alive for him. With each stage of the game, Spite moves from 'enemy in reflection' to 'friend in reflection'.
Additionally: do you know what touches me the most? That Lucanis was kind to the demon. And remains kind to him throughout the entire playthrough. He does not want to get rid of him, he behaves passively when the companions discuss how to remove Spite. Raven says 'he's okay' when Spite hurts him. It's nothing. After all, it was his demon that pecked him. He'll figure it out himself. Just like he did before, when Spite was the only being who felt the torture and possible abuse that was being done to his host. And maybe there's some gratitude in that, too, for the fact that Lucanis wasn't alone then.
I was touched by how Spite reacted to Manfred's absence if you chose to transform Emmrich into the Lord of Lich. He is very demanding about his skeleton friend's return. He throws a short tantrum about it. Probably, as Assan could talk to Manfred, the demon had the same opportunity. And it is this detail that makes him sensitive. My opinion is that this is the influence of the host himself - Lucanis - because he is soft and kind, and this influenced Spite as well. If the demon was planted in someone cruel, accordingly, Spite would absorb completely different emotional impulses. But since here and now there is a concept of 'family', which is one of the types of predetermination of the surrounding personalities, he behaves accordingly.

ok your arcane blogging has almost convinced me to watch the show because it seems WILD and also, visually STUNNING like wowww
but I have absolutely no idea what the show is even about, could you give me a summary? (also what streaming service is it on?)
Yessss excellent! The show is indeed fucking nuts and also visually stunning. Just. Goddamn. Every single episode had moments of us going "that looks so pretty" and/or "holy shit that looks so fuckin sick"
It also does some of the best visual storytelling outside of the Spiderverse movies. They do so much playing around with 2D looking effects and light bursts, with music that slaps and is also used to create in-story sort of music videos to help drop character backgrounds and establishing where people are in episodes, which helps them handle the many characters really well!
Also the animation of micro-expressions in this show makes me lose my mind. I'm sure you've seen the gifs all over my blog and how much facial animation there is in them lmaoo
Good news is it's finished after 2 seasons, which I like as someone who prefers shows that don't just kind of go on for forever. It could have been 3-4 seasons but they did great nailing a rare mix of a plot AND character focused story that had a ton of moving pieces.
You also don't need to know shit about LoL and from what I can tell, it was more used as a base for the world setting and the first building blocks for the characters. They take advantage of the pre-made world really well and do this immersive style of world building where you may not know what all is going on in this world, but you can really tell that it's there and developed you know? But character lore wise we all tried to predict season 2 based on the original lore and then got cold clocked by how the basic character beats actually played out so. Yeah. The most video game aspect of this is the character designs and the FULL embrace of "what if this lady had a big glowing cyber arm she punched things with and what if it was the coolest shit you've seen."
As for what it's about...theme wise big points are
- love as both a destructive and restoring force, especially love between family and friends
-forgiveness and how one draws the line on what going too far means
-self perpetuating systems of classism that can pull even well meaning actors into being oppressors, and even how different forms of rebellion can begin recreating the oppression they're rising against (there are arguments on how this got handled in season 2 but I don't think there's any really solid storyline way to handle such heavy themes)
- the unexpected consequences of chasing progress as an ideal
-big buff hot women who punch!!!!!!! Women who are yoked!!!
-making you kind of hate how much you like that imagine dragons song
-beat drops that make you yell "LETS FUCKIN GOOOOO"
Plot wise it's about:
Set in a trippy art deco/art nouveau punk aesthetic city that has technology and where magic exists, but has been considered dangerous and only used by mages born able to harness it. Scientists learn how to access magic via mechanical and chemical technology. This causes a lot of problems. It mostly follows two sisters caught within the volatile time, along with a central cast from multiple parts of the city.
It's streaming on Netflix!

Hi, I read a little bit of your rant about Arcane, but then I stopped 'cause it's making me notice so many things and so sad thinking about what a perfect series could have been if... what? They had more time? If there were someone else with the writers that pointed out things? If they had another act? Maybe two?
For what I have understood act1 was supposed to be the last one in season 1, right now I can't find the source, maybe I'm just imagining it? Idk. But even the season 1 opening finished with Jinx and Vi's fight.
If that's so, maybe season two was supposed to be four act and not two acts super full of things to talk about, to develop, and also so not to forget the starting point of all of the Arcane.
Or maybe this is just me rumbling about a series that I love and I can't accept that they finished it forgetting things really important about Arcane, and it hurt so much.
But I also loved it. It was beautifully done, songs, animations, and voice acting, I know that ending for CaitVi was a little controversial, but I'm keeping that salame in my eyes and be happy for them. Is it so wrong to do this?
Sorry about my English, I don't usually write, but I wanted to express these feelings.
Pls don't apologize for your English, I'm not a native speaker either, we are totally on the same page~ The first arc DID feel like the conclusion to s1, so maybe you are right about that!
Listen, you get to choose how to deal with a show you love ending in an unsatisfying way! I can't police how you are supposed to express your feelings! I can only offer you my thoughts on the matter, and those are this. Engaging with criticism and reading detailed explanations of what didn't work is not a moral responsibility. I express my love for media by analyzing it to bits and pieces, and that's how I deal with disappointment, too. I like to understand why I love something, and I like to understand why I don't love stuff, too. It's just my way of interacting with fiction, not some kind of an ethical statement! I only have a problem with those who think all criticism should be silenced. Those people enter the realm of anti-intellectualism, where the only correct way to interact with media is as a mindless consumer only processing what the writers want you to think and feel and nothing else. So in my opinion, it is not at all wrong to tune out the criticism and just enjoy the good parts of the show for what they are. Because even with all the complaints about the writing, the show excels in every other area, there is a ton to enjoy about it!!

It’s 3AM, and the only sounds in the room are of your own groaning, and the pillows shuffling along your bed. You can’t sleep due to the constant negative thoughts running through your brain, at a million miles a minute.
The day was going great—work was it’s typical busy, but you don’t mind, and you even had a lighthearted chat with your coworker about your shared love for old sitcoms. But then came the side-eyed comment about your ‘Unwilling Service’ from someone who didn’t even know you, and how much it got into your head. You were just trying to answer their question, which was unbelievably bizarre. They asked something about how to get to the park that was thirty minutes away. Hell, you didn’t even know the place existed, and you didn’t work for a directory station.
You are already practically on edge as you walk through your apartment door. Dinner is an afterthought, the thought of eating even something small, sounding like too much of a task. And though you try distracting yourself with a movie, The Exorcist, obviously, the restless energy refuses to fade.
It isn't just today, though. Sleep had been a problem for weeks, a relentless cycle of tossing and turning that left you staring at the ceiling, wondering why you just couldn’t sleep. Tonight is no different. The clock ticked past midnight, then 1AM, now 2AM, each passing minute a reminder that tomorrow would be another day of exhaustion.
Your chest grows tight, your breathing shallower than you’ve experienced, in a LONG time for that matter. The usual distraction techniques aren’t working. Counting sheep, breathing exercises, even scrolling through your phone—all useless.
You pull the covers over your head, but the heaviness of the day’s events looms large. That offhand comment from earlier—’unwilling service…’ Did they mean lazy? Disinterested? Were they secretly annoyed with you? Did everyone at work feel that way? Was it the same with your friends?
The spiraling thoughts claw their way deeper. You clench your fists, nails digging into your palms. You hadn’t meant to start tossing and turning, the pillows shuffling deeper.
"Fuck, what is wrong with me?" you mutter under your breath.
With a shaky breath, you sat up, rubbing your eyes. The weight in your chest hadn’t gone away, but you knew someone who’d make it bearable.
"Beetlejuice," you whispered, voice cracking. "Beetlejuice... Beetlejuice."
The flash of green and black in the corner of the room becomes bright with flair, causing his entrance to be as grand as ever. "It's showtime-”, he begins, but the second he takes one look at you, his demeanor shifts.
“Whoa, whoa. Babes? Fuckin’ hell, you okay?” he says, eyebrows furrowing as he notices your trembling hands and red-puffed eyes, shaking his head as he curses himself for not being there sooner. He’s by your side in an instant, sittiing on the bed with a mix of concern and determination.
“C’mere,” he mutters, pulling you close. His arms wrapped tightly around you, his striped blazer soft against your cheek. “Talk to me, Babes. What’s going on?”
You want to answer, but the lump in your throat won’t let you. Instead, you bury your face into his shoulder, your breaths uneven.
Beej doesn’t press. He doesn’t ask questions. He just shifts back against the headboard, tucking you against his chest, one hand rubbing soothing circles on your back.
“I’ve got you,” he whispers, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “Whatever it is, you don’t have to carry it by yourself, okay? I’m here.”
The familiar rasp in his voice, usually cocky and teasing, was softer now, filled with a warmth you didn’t know you needed.
As you start to calm down, the sound of his voice keeps you grounded. “You know what you need, Babes?” he said, pulling back slightly to look at you with a small grin. “Some quality cuddle therapy... and maybe a new friend. One sec.”
Before you could protest, he vanishes with a poof, leaving you in a sense of longing, wondering where he’s gone. Only for him to reappear quickly, holding something behind his back.
“Ta-da!” He reveals a small stuffed bat with button eyes and a goofy grin. It’s actually quite cute, and it’s got a lot of character, it seems. He chuckles, and holds up the little creature, “Meet, uh... Flappy. Thought you might like him.”
The absurdity, yet adoration, of the name makes you laugh, a weak but genuine sound that seems to lift the tension in the room.
“Flappy, huh?” you say, gently taking the plushie in your hands. “What’s he doing here?”
“Oh, you know. He’s a night owl. Bit of a chatterbox. Thinks you’re the coolest guy around.”, Beej says with a large grin.
You smile, turning the toy over in your hands. “Guess he can join the others.”
Beej’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise. “Wait, you’ve got others? Babes, you’ve been holding out on me.”
And just like that, the weight in your chest eases, feeling the utter excitement of getting to share your wholesome obsessions over your stuffed animals, each one having a characterized personality of its own. You find yourself rambling about your collection—each stuffed animal, its backstory, how you’d gotten it.
Beej listens intently, actually seeming interested in what you have to say, throwing in the occasional quip, but mostly just letting you talk.
“And this one’s name is Gemini! My friend named her, since it’s her zodiac sign, but she’s a little fruit bat, who was an orphan from the time she was a baby! She got adopted by a bunch of normal bats, who accepted her into her family, and when she grew up, she went to explore the world!”, you exclaim happily to Beej.
Beej nods with excitement, “Woah, Babes! I had no idea how much you knew about these little guys.”, he says with a joking tone and a wink.
You feel the heat rising to your cheeks, as you blush. “Sorry, I don’t mean to bore you with these little guy-”, but you’re quickly cut off.
Beej’s lips are softly pressed against yours, his eyes closed, as your eyes flutter to do the same. You wonder what made him want to do this, but you’re too shocked to care.
He pulls back slightly to look in your eyes, chuckling softly. “Do not EVER apologize for that, Babes. I think hearing about them is very sweet to hear from you. And besides, what kind of demon would love you if they didn’t hear about your little stories?”, he asks with a smile.
Your face is surely entirely red now. What did he say?
“W-What did you just say?”, you ask, your voice barely above a whisper.
His black-circled eyes soften as he gazes at yours, “I love you.”, he says in a whispered tone, his gaze flickering to your lips.
Your gaze follows to his own lips, as you softly whisper back, “I love you too.”. You lean closer slowly, closing the space once again.
Out of all the backstories that you’ve shared tonight, this one will always be your favorite.

(Not sure if you will answer this, but I’m going to ask anyway sorry if it’s long :P)
I can only imagine the STRESS having to do with seven (eight if you count “the mother”) fungus infected Yandere’s (+a whole military complex) so here’s my question:
How will they react to Y/N having a mental breakdown?
(sorry if angs)
(Thanks for the ask:), and yeah. The problem with having a decent amount of characters is that I have so many things to write/draw about them, but don't know what would and will be liked/needed. Also hoped I captured a good enough vision of a mental breakdown. Don't know if that is what you wanted;-;)
(The Fungus universe)
Tw: Yandere, manipulation, slight abuse.
Oh dear… it was anticipated you would suffer a lot of pressure and fear being randomly rocked from your old life to this one. Tears tainting your once joyful face while you lock yourself away from any prying eyes, and taking out your anger on any who dared to try and enter.
How the leaders react:
The Liar: Expected. You are only human after all. Humans crack under the slightest change, unlike his own kind. Still with you gone… No. He can't let you screw over his plans. If you want sympathy, then you won't get it.
You can't cry forever, and to be honest he doesn't care enough to take action. Sure, hide away from your problems. See if he does something about it, dear.
Still, if he really had to fix it, it would only take a simple lie. Nothing more.
Poison: Hmm… That was quicker than expected. Some people can endure the pressure for longer periods of time. That’s too bad. Poison will try to get to the source of the problem. Through the closed door, providing more drug-like, artificial solutions than actual support. Since she knows the only thing that would truly bring you joy is your freedom, and well… she can't give you that.
The Cannibal: Oh, oh, oh. Fuck did he cause that? No, no. How did he- How…?!
Imagine a buffering browser, that is him at that moment.
He really does not know what to do or what to say to make you feel better;-;
Doppelganger: What? Really? You hiding away in tears? Good god, always knows how to push his buttons in the middle of practice.
“Dear, open the door, please… I promise I can help you”
Can he help you? He is pretty sure he can, even if the ‘how’ of the matter is quite blurry. He will try to persuade you with pretty words and promises, but if those don't work… well… haha. That door might need to be broken off.
Illusionist: Why are you hiding? Did… did they do something wrong? They did… but it was for the betterment of everyone. You gotta trust them. Please…
You might hear muffled pleas from the other side of the door as the humanoid insect tries to get you to come out. Cries that closely resemble a child begging for their parent.
“Please, do you feel lonely? We won't ever leave your side again we promise! Do you need to see something cute? We will give you cats, please! Come. Out!”
That’s the most they will do… well until they decide the Doppelganger might be a good person to help them out.
The Eye in the Sky: What? He is too busy for that, god. Fine.
It might feel like an insult when you hear a worker coming to your aid instead of the man himself. He’s busy god dammit. He doesn't have time for your temper tantrum.
The Priest: Oh that happened? That's truly awful… Don’t worry he will help.
Standing behind the door he will simply wait.
“Don't worry, dear. I understand this might seem like the end of the world. Take the time you need. I will be waiting until you decide to come out”
He is a patient man. He can wait for as long as you need, and if you decide to leave he will be more than happy to hold you in a loving embrace.
His wife on the other hand… will smile and nod, but her aching fingers can't help but visualize the pretty idea of tearing that damn door off. Why would anyone want to hide from them? Preposterous! They are sweet as angels.

I have said in multiple posts that I greatly dislike Varric going after Solas and that it doesn’t make sense for the Inquisitor to send Varric.
That said. I can see Varric wanting to go.
And it all comes back to Anders.
Veilguard’s spoilers ahead!
I’ve seen some people upset that Varric seems like a bottomless well of forgiveness for Solas but spoke with so much contempt about Anders. And I get why people would be upset at something that appears to be a contradiction but the way I understand Varric, the only reason that I could see him going after Solas, is because of Anders.
When we see Varric in Inquisition, the mage rebellion is in full swing. It’s been a few years since Anders betrayed all his friends. Lied to them, used them, and caused them all to have to run from Kirkwall. Varric’s home. The only place he wants to be. And Varric is still bitter as hell. Understandably. I was angry and bitter too. (I romanced Anders and he tricked me into blowing up a church. Fuck the chantry but still)
We hear Varric say a few unkind things at Anders expense in Inquisition but again, I feel that Varric has a right to feel angry and betrayed. Varric is surrounded by reminders of what Anders did. So many people dead, dying, starving, suffering.
Now we don’t see this next bit, we see Varric in Inquisition then Varric on the hunt for Solas. Not so much the middle but. So unless Varric says something that contradicts any of this in the comics or whatever, thes are my thoughts about how Varric gets from point a to b.
First and foremost, Varric doesn’t just blame Anders. As more and more time goes by, he blames himself. We do see this in Inquisition. He blames himself for uncovering corypheus, for the lyrium dagger, for Hawke in danger.
But over time, I think he’d start blaming himself more and more for Anders. Beyond just him introducing Anders to Hawke.
Because he knew Anders was spiraling. They all knew. And no one did anything to help. Not really. He bribed thugs to keep them away from Anders’ clinic, he tried to help him engage with elaborate ‘revenge fantasies’ as a way to blow off steam, tried to be his friend. But he didn’t do anything.
He knew Anders was getting worse. And he didn’t stop it. None of them did. They all ignored it until it was too late.
Now this isn’t fair to Varric, There isn’t much Varric himself could have done to help Anders. What does Varric know about separating a mage and a spirit? Curing an abomination? Basically nothing.
But feelings don’t have brains. Varric didn’t help his friend when he knew Anders needed it.
Dragon Age Veilguard’s main themes are about regret. And the reason Varric goes after Solas is, appropriately enough, because of his.
He failed last time. He failed Anders.
And now he sees another friend, spiraling. About to do something awful because they’ve convinced them self that it’s the only way. The same pattern. Hauntingly familiar. More urgency is added to this if the Inquisitor is in love with Solas, if Hawke loved Anders.
I never got quite the same feeling of friendship between Varric and the Inquisitor throughout most of Inquisition because Varric saw them as larger than life. More of a legend than a person. We do catch a glimpse of a more friendly relationship in Trespasser, when he’s spoiling the shit out of them like he does with all his friends. His relationship with the Inquisitor is different, but they are friends.
Varric’s desire to convince Solas to stop exists regardless of the Inquisitor’s resolve. But in the case of a Lavellan that loves Solas? It adds a whole new layer to Varric’s decision to try. Because he sees another friend friend suffering and knows she misses him.
And this time Varric would be desperate not to fail.
This time he’d do more. This time he won’t ignore the problem. This time things will be different.
And he fails.
Or he succeeds.
That depends in you, the player. It depends on Rook.
If you manage to get Solas to stop. To reunite with the Inquisitor, Varric wins. The only reason Rook could have done all this to begin with is because Varric got them there. Varric saved his friend. It cost him, but he did it. And he knew it could cost him.
On the way to the ritual site he something to the effect of ‘if we fight Solas, we’re all dead’ He knows he can’t fight Solas into submission. All he can do is try to talk. And even then. He knows.
“Take care of the team for me.”
He fucking knew. He’s not stupid.
He knew. But he wanted to save Solas. To help the inquisitor. To save the world he loves, because the people he loves live in it.
I’ve gotten 3 of Veilguard’s endings so far.
The one where you trick Solas, and the two redeem endings. I’m not bothering with the fight one.
While the trick ending feels an appropriate and karmic punishment for Solas, I cant have that be my ending.
Because of Varric.
I can’t let him die for nothing. His last wish, denied.
So that bald bitch is getting put it the path to redemption even if I have to drag his pretentious ass kicking and screaming. He’s gonna spend the rest of eternity protecting the world that Varric loved. Warts and all.
Now, as I said earlier. This is just my interpretation of Varric, your mileage may vary. But this is how I see it, as far as Varric’s role in Veilguard and how I feel Anders was a pivotal player in Varric’s choices.
