Reblogging as a white person specifically bc yes.
I've seen more black women with short hair/massive shrinkage wearing regular ass pants being accused of being transgender/men than I have regular ass afab white folks with the same style and even a lil bit of extra stash on the side.
It's not about the cut of your jeans or the way you present yourself. It's about the way that these terfs can get under your skin and hurt you in ways that they know the world has already done so.
And it just so happens that that's easier to spot when it comes to people of color.
And I'm sorry that that continues to be the truth.
I think one thing people forgot about terfs is how RACIST they are towards women of color (god forbid be a trans woman of color) and how those people uphold white supremacist views of gender.
#genuinely there are so many things that can be traced back to colonialism and racism#like fatphobia#but i don't think i personally am equipped for that conversation#considering how i just learned about it myself not too long ago#but that does not mean that it is something that isn't worth knowing#terf rhetoric#fuck terfs#NO woman is safe with a terf#not even herself#if the most i get when my upper lip gets a lil hairy is a comment to “shave it off”#but a black woman who DARES to have short hair and wear loose clothes is suddenly now a man#then what does that say about me?#not being harassed as a queer person but instead being “helped” by others despite not wanting it is a privilege#it takes nothing from me to recognize that

it is legit bizarre to me how hard video game creators and film directors and showrunners try to pretend that fat people don't exist. can you think of the last time you saw a fat person in a lead role? god forbid a fat woman? i can walk down the street or go into a shop or restaurant and see fat people everywhere but then i switch on the tv and suddenly it's like a glimpse into an alternate universe where no one has a bmi over 24. insidious and weird
#i don't wanna sound dramatic but it's just so crazy that it's like this and nobody even talks about it#tbh disability is like this too - you don't see fat people and you don't see disabled people unless it's a joke or a plot point#'we don't want to glamourise obesity' it's not 'glamourising' anything. it's showing the world as it is.#sure you can create a world devoid of all the people you don't find aesthetically pleasing but at least acknowledge that you're doing that#fatphobia#weight talk cw#ableism#be shh now#containment breach

idk y’all should treat fat men better. and i don’t mean mildly chubby guys i mean honest-to-god love-handles-and-double-chins fat guys. stop calling them shit like discord mods or gross weebs or nasty creeps or neckbeards or that they’re stinky or sweaty or beer bellied or whatever else. fatphobia isn’t cute, even repackaged in a neat little box of “ew men”
#and this isn’t some like “IF A CUTE GUY HARASSES A GIRL SHED LOVE IT BUT WHEN A FAT GUY DOES IT SHED HATE IT”#I guarantee she’d hate it nontheless#just saying that the way some of y’all treat fat guys is seriously disgusting#and a lot of em end up falling down the incel and rightwing pipelines because of it#fatphobia#antimasculism#fatphobes#male fatphobia#transandrophobia#anti transmasculinity#emo moss talks

dude not to be a bitch but starting my new job and spending every day surrounded by normies is really giving me a good long look at how fucked up the rhetorical landscape surrounding food and fatness is. the other week i overheard a guy confidently saying that the body doesn't actually require sugar and that if it wasn't for our dastardly perfidious taste buds we'd never crave it(???). just now my manager showed me this video of some dude scaremongering about pringles by saying that their ratio of sugar/salt/fat is CALCULATED to TRICK THE BRAIN into WANTING MORE. bitch you mean they made an effort to make their commercially produced snacks taste good? somebody phone the fucking fire department
#like i'm not disagreeing that snack foods are unhealthy it's just like#i can't help but feel like this all comes from a place of virulent fatphobia#shut up about your fucking diet

anti-fatness is not just body shaming.
anti-fatness is discrimination. anti-fatness is having next to no legal protections for being discriminated against. anti-fatness is being denied housing, jobs, receiving less pay and promotions (legally) because of your size. anti-fatness is being denied access to clothing, seating, transportation, and other human rights because infrastructure has been designed to exclude you. anti-fatness is less likelihood of receiving a fair trial. anti-fatness is dehumanization. anti-fatness is being denied necessary surgeries, but not surgery that amputates the digestive tract with the intent to starve and shrink you (it doesn’t work either). anti-fatness is mutilation. anti-fatness is being subject to torture devices that bolt your mouth shut. anti-fatness is being told by close friends, family, and professionals that you are better off living with an eating disorder or other life-threatening illness. anti-fatness sells you starvation as a guaranteed opt-out of oppression, but doesn’t tell you that bodies will always regain weight to survive. anti-fatness blames and punishes you for failing at an achievement that is quite literally impossible. anti-fatness is a $90 billion dollar industry. anti-fatness is being denied gender-affirming care. anti-fatness is being barred from in vitro fertilization and reproductive healthcare. anti-fatness is being barred from adopting children. anti-fatness is being removed from your loving parents because they couldn’t make you thin. anti-fatness is intentionally starving your own baby so they won’t get fat. anti-fatness is disproportionately high suicide rates. anti-fatness is being killed at the hands of medical neglect and mistreatment. anti-fatness is the world preferring a dead body over a fat one.
#i’m sorry that my fellow fat followers have to see this. you all already know it. you’ve lived it.#spread this like wildfire so that thin people can wake up.#resources#tw anti fatness#tw fatphobia#tw medical fatphobia#tw anti fat bias#tw anti fat violence#fat liberation#fat acceptance#fatphobia#fat activism

saying “visual style" because, for example, if you would swap your current wardrobe for an identical, ethically made counterpart, there would be no visible change
#bearer of the curse#polls#I said a lot bc I don't wear a lot of what I enjoy due to sensory stuff and also like ... ethical considerations#btw I made this post bc I really don't like how some people think that people 'dress boring' simply bc theyre boring#like. fashion is not as accessible as it should be! to most people!#so i wanted to see how people felt#also fat people I love you I know a massive part of this inaccessibility is fatphobia in the fashion industry

I don't know how to articulate this well, but I really fucking hate the way a lot of thin writers write fat characters. Like how men write women "breasting boobily" there is something so dehumanizing about how fat characters are often written. "He waddled", "he lumbered", the writer of the book I'm reading always mentions this characters "fleshy hand" when he does something with his hand. Like, we already know that he's fat. There is no need to describe everything he does as "doing it fatly".
#mypost#fatphobia#also like i get that once in a while descriptions like that add color#but they only do it EVERY time to fat characters

You know I wish fatphobia was less pervasive. Even among people who consider themself as progressive, it's rampant. So quick reminder. No it's actually not easy to stop being fat, and it sucks that we are treated differently for something we really can't control. Shaming a fat person for being fat, and shaming them for not having the "willpower" to become skinny- is bigotry. And if all you talk to fat people about is weight loss and dieting- congratulations! You're being a dick! Stop.
#fatphobia#im trying to work on my own internalized fatphobia#and making statements like this helps#vent ish#ok to reblog

aaa games: we have some of the most CUTTING EDGE character customization options for you!! you can't make them fat tho, only cause we'd have to design more clothing models and adjust the animation for them and we just don't have the resources for that haha you understand right. that's totally the only reason we don't let you do that. anyways which of these 6 cocks would you like your character to have
#im noticing a pattern sfdjkfsdjkl#this isn't about just one game in particular but i did just start bg3 so that one's fresh in my mind#cyberpunk2077 also did it#please don't start a debate on this silly vent post im begging you im just a lil guy#fatphobia#aaa games#aaa game industry#getting to choose the genitals is all well and good but like. priorities maybe?#anyway this has been my ted talk. back to playing abs mcgee we go

The thing about being fat is that you could be climbing a mountain everyday but if you're still fat people will be like "hmmm have you tried starving yourself?"
#bernardo talks a lot#“you need to eat less” Have you considered I do not take pleasure in actively starving myself#fatphobia#fat liberation#i am not going to eat “three cashews” as a mid afternoon snack and “one spoon of rice” in my lunch#I actively like eating actually

absolutely enamored by rose quartz's body type and character design. especially after the pink diamond reveal. like, girl CHOSE to become a fat woman. and everyone around her (rightfully) thought she was incredibly hot for it. queen shit.
#eliot posts#su#steven universe#rose quartz#i could complain that she's the more conventional plus size model body type w curves in the ''''right'''' places#but im not going to#cuz this show came out in the mid 2010s on the tail end of the ''thin is in'' era#anything other than a size 0 being portrayed as attractive was fucking groundbreaking#hell a lot of that fatphobia is still up and kicking#it's still hard to find enough fat characters (at least. that aren't villains or laughingstock) let alone ones portrayed as HOT#anyway iirc seeing rose as a teen straightup made me have a minor sexuality crisis#her first couple episodes didn't do it. like something about her in lion 3 looked Off and i didn't like how her hair was animated#but by the time we got to 'we need to talk' ohhhh boy#she was so fucking pretty the way she looked the way she moved and talked#rewatching that ep as an adult i was still like HELLO

Weight loss is a completely morally neutral personal choice that anyone can make for any reason, but if you choose to lose weight because you hate your fat body, please do the internal work to get over that internalized fatphobia before or during your weight loss efforts. I’ve seen far too many fat people become skinny and immediately turn their internalized fatphobia outwards, and it’s a bad time for everyone. If you have to keep the weight off through a strictly maintained diet and exercise, it’s pretty much inevitable that you will gain some weight back at some point in your life (likely more than you had in the first place if yo-yo dieting is in play), and you will find that all the hatred you projected at the fat community will come back to bite you in the ass with twice the power. Work on loving your fat self while you’re there, and if you choose to lose weight then work on continuing to love your old fat self. Life will feel much better for yourself and the fat people around you that way.
#just thinkin about it bc I watched a video of a fat creator who lost a lot of weight and immediately started body shaming everyone 🤢#tale as old as fucking time man I’m sick of seeing it#it’s like queer people who champion the far right#you’re in the leopards eating ppl’s faces party man it’s gonna come back around in time#lyla’s talking again#fatphobia#fat liberation#tw weight loss#tw fatphobia
