Wait people actually think William has a sad backstory to explain why he kills kids? Literally the only semblance of a canonical motive he had is being jealous of Henry and liking the power he has over his victims in the tse trilogy (which is 50/50 on being canon to the games). Anything else is just a theory. People know this right?

I would not be able to shut up about Zelda lore. I'd be mentioning the Links the Chain hasn't met yet, or how Ganondorf's hair keeps getting longer with each iteration, and especially the timeline! I'd be turning to Legend and Four and saying that according to Nintendo, they're a bunch of Links conflated together (Four Swords before Time and Adventures after Twilight what???) and then turning to Warriors to say that his game isn't canon to the timeline. SEND HELP

Literally same. I swear I would be the most annoying person ever. I'd be telling them about all the fan theories, giving them all an existential crisis. (Because IMAGINE if Wind found out some people don't think he has the hero's spirit. Or if Sky found out some people think Demise's curse is the reason every other Link had to deal with Ganon.) This was going to be a short little blurb but... yeah you get a whole two pages. This is what you get for feeding my hyper fixation, anon.

“You know about all our adventures and the impact my actions specifically had on the timeline.” Time’s face was unreadable. His usually serious demeanor had a much colder edge to it. And it was directed at you.

You take a breath. He had been a bit stand-offish when you had joined the group. He had been upset when you spoke about how the chain’s adventures were games in your universe. You suspected he began outright avoiding you after that. You had thought there had been an unspoken but mutual understanding that his games were something not to be spoken of. Nothing could prepare you for this conversation, especially with the rest of the chain within earshot. Still, he had spoken to you. Directly to you. Which was progress, even if the subject matter was… this.

“Yeah.” You try to seem nonchalant. Your voice crack ruins the effect somewhat.

“Explain, then. Knowing how we,” Time motions to the rest of the group, “all fit together might help us face the creature we’ve been fighting.”

“Oh, that might get a bit complicated. Some of the games y’all appear in aren’t canon.” You smile nervously. “And some of you guys seem to be multiple games combined? Like, you have two games, and that makes sense because Majora’s Mask was meant to be a sequel to Ocarina of Time. But, for example, in the official timeline The Minish Cap and Four Swords take place before the timeline split, while Four Swords Adventures happens after it, even though all three games seem to be Four’s adventures.”

“Wait, what?” Four perked up at the mention of his name. “How does that make sense? I used the Four Sword about a year or so after my time with the Picori. How can those two games have things between them?”

“Hoooo boy.” You pressed your lips together, trying to summon the restraint necessary to give a tactful answer. You looked at Time, then Four, then at the rest of the chain, whose attention was focused solely on you. Screw it. They asked.

“The company that created the games, Nintendo, published a book with an official timeline in it. The timeline begins with Skyward Sword, after which Sky and his Zelda kind of found what will eventually become Hyrule and *ahem* start the royal family.” You ramble on, choosing not to comment on the way Sky chokes on his own spit. “Then, the Minish Cap happens. And according to Nintendo, the next game, Four Swords, has a completely different Link. After Four Swords, the events of Ocarina of Time happen, where a TON of time travel shenanigans happen.”

Time coughs. You keep talking.

“During Ocarina of Time, Time defeated Ganondorf as a teenager. His Zelda then sent him back in time to prevent Ganondorf from ever getting the Triforce in the first place, but this didn’t erase the other timeline. Thus, there are two timelines: Time’s original that he was removed from and the new one where Ganondorf was never really an issue.”

You get out a stick, drawing lines in the dirt to illustrate your point.

“Now, in the timeline that Time left, Ganondorf eventually came back. That’s what set’s up the events of Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass. Also in this timeline is a game called Spirit Tracks. The Link from that game isn’t here, but Wind’s Zelda’s granddaughter is that Link’s Zelda.”

“WAIT WHAT?” Wind shouted, temporarily snapping you out of your rant. Oh shoot. How long have you been rambling? You turned your attention to Wind.

“What’s up, sailor?” You point at him with the stick in your hand, as if you were a school teacher lecturing on a subject and not a gamer with way too much free time.

“Tetra had KIDS?” Wind scrunches his face up, as if disgusted by the thought of his best friend reproducing.

“Yes, that is how grandchildren work.” You tap your stick against the end of the line you had drawn. “Anyway, that’s about it for that timeline. As far as I know, Wind stabbing Ganondorf in the face actually killed the guy for once.”

“Wait, WIND is the one who actually finished off Ganon?” Legend pipes up.

“Why do you sound so surprised!?” Wind fires back indignantly.

“MOVING ON!” You shout, redirecting the group's attention back to you. “In the timeline Time went back to and fixed, he has another game, Majora’s Mask. He then settles down and has a kid, who has a kid, etc. etc., then we get Twilight and his game, Twilight Princess. Time is kind of a dickwad in that game, but we don’t have time to unpack that.”

“Hold on.” Time puts up a hand, trying to stop you from continuing. He looks… extremely worried. Twilight looks as if he just swallowed a frog.

“Nope, moving on!” You use your stick to quickly lower Time’s arm. “Twilight actually also killed Ganondorf, but the bastard went and got resurrected. Vaati also shows up again randomly, and that’s how Four Swords Adventures happens.”

“What about me and Legend?” Hyrule raises his hand politely.

“Ah, you guys are from a timeline where Time died in his final fight with Ganondorf.”

“I’M SORRY WHAT?” Twilight and Time shout at almost the same time.

“Yep. That’s what started the Sealing War. Time’s Zelda and the sages sealed Ganondorf away. Then we have Legend’s games, which have two different orders, both of which were published by Nintendo. It either goes A Link to the Past, Oracle of Seasons/Ages, then Link's Awakening, or Link’s Awakening, then Oracle of Seasons/Ages.”

“Why the different order? Doesn’t ‘Nintendo’ know?” Legend smirks, as if he had won against this strange other-worldly company that had reduced him to a child’s game.

“Well, they published the first version, but because Link’s Awakening was the last game for you, fans thought you died at sea.” You explain. Legend’s smirk disappears as the color drains from his face.

“Anyway, according to Nintendo, the next game is A Link Between Worlds, which is a different Link. After that, it’s Hyrule’s games: The Legend of Zelda and The Legend of Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link. Then that’s it for the downfall timeline.”

“What about me?” Wild sheepishly points to himself.

“Nobody knows. Nintendo says they’re after Four Swords Adventures OR Spirit Tracks. Personally, I think after FSA makes more sense, but we DEFINITELY shouldn’t get into theory territory right now.”

“I’m guessing my game is the same? No clear timeline placement because of all the different timelines mixing together?” Warriors rolls his eyes as he says it, as if annoyed he doesn’t have an official timeline placement.

“No, actually. Your entire game was more fanservice than anything. Nintendo doesn’t even consider it canon.”

“WHAT?”

This is me yapping about alien stage to its fullest. I Mostly yap abt round 7 and the video All-in

Till is alive. I think. Because in the end of round 7, his little stupid picture flicks. And his earpiece that probably tracks his heart rate ((checking on his breathing probably??) fell out. So that’s why it flickers since the alien doesn’t know if he’s still alive or not.

SO. HYUNA & MIZI CAN GRAB HIS ASS AND RUN AWAY. ((And I guess Luka too..)

Though realistically, I think Till will survive due to him having such a big role in alien stage. I don’t think Vivinos is THAT evil to let him die, if Ivan already sacrificed himself.

But I do think that Hyuna and Luka will definitely go against each other. (Or what if Till survives and goes against Mizi or smth.. and Hyuna goes against Luka. ???) because 3 is a odd number. (Yeah I didn’t know) Having 3 go against each other would be difficult. Why have 3 when you could get 4? And two more bonus rounds am I right? ((Please leave till alone. He’s my son. Yes I am his mom. Canon.)

Mizi and Hyuna will definitely get captured. No way they will be able to get out of a stage. FILLED with aliens all round. No way. Unless Dewey & Issac bomb the whole place and happy ending.

One of the most anticipated to happen is Hyuna and Luka going against each other. Maybe finally would Luka will show fear? And crack his “perfect” appearance. I would love to see him break because of Hyuna.

As much as I love Hyuluka. It cannot work, because Luka (maybe?) killed Hyunas brother. I have no idea how Hyuna could possibly forgive him.

Unless.. he didn’t? ((Which he probably did but let me cook. I want some hope.)

In Hyunas All-in video, during the flashback to the Hyun-woo and Luka “fight” Luka was bleeding from the side of his head,but when looking at Hyun-woo’s hand. He had no blood on his hand? What if the fight was started by Hyun-woo? Possibly since Luka was rather odd to Hyuna. I don’t think Luka would start a fight, due to his conditions. It doesn’t click in my mind for him to fight. What if Hyun-woo hit him on the rock first? I mean hyun-woo didn’t have any blood on his hand. The whole scene isn’t shown. We don’t el know what fully happened. Not saying Hyun-woo is in the bad AT ALL. If he did, then Luka for sure deserved it. And maybe a fight broke out. Causing Luka to kill Hyun-woo.

Luka probably wasn’t that old in that time. Most can be 15. At that age, no matter what. The feeling of killing is horrid. Yes maybe Luka did intend to hurt him. But not kill him. Has it been shown in comics. It did show that Luka and Hyun-woo would fight and Hyuna would break them up. I mean boys usually fight. Look and Ivan and Till.

I read a theory that said Luka might have PBA. Which causes you to laugh,smile or giggle in inappropriate situations. Even if you don’t truly find it funny or even if you’re actually horrified. 

And do remember that Heperu taught Luka to overcome Fear. Possibly he messed up Luka that much, to make him laugh or smile even if he is truly scared. (Which also explains why he is also shown trembling.)

No way am I saying Luka is innocent. He’s a bitch but I feel like people do forget that he is also a victim as everyone else. Alien stage is a fucked up show, which Vivinos will not let us be happy 😭 We can only be happy in the Actor Au..

Through The Portal: Chapter 3

Series Masterlist

Chapter Summary: Stan finally learns what really happened to Y/n back in 1973. Stan realizes the sweet girl he once knew isn’t as bubbly as she used to be, but is determined to bring her back however he can.

A/N: The events and ideas are based on a theory I have about the Nightmare Realm. This is in no way canonically true, just my theories based on what we canonically know about the Nightmare Realm.

“Wait, New Jersey?” Mabel and Dipper questioned simultaneously.

I nodded as Stan gave me a look of, ‘don't tell them just yet’. I guess in a way Stan was right, I probably shouldn’t tell them about the fact I technically am 61 years old. So I decided to tell them a little white lie.

“Yeah, I grew up in New Jersey. Just like Stan and Ford did.”

“So, how did you end up here? Did you work with Ford?” Mabel asked curiously.

“Don’t be silly Mabel, she’s not old enough to have worked with Ford on the portal.” Dipper interjected.

“Then you must be his daughter!” Mabel beamed.

“No! I-I’m not Ford’s daughter.” I quickly tried to correct her.”

“Then are you Stan’s daughter?” Mabel questioned.

“No, I have no relation to them at all. It’s a long story that I’m not ready to share just yet.”

“But, you do know Stan. You said that you were sorry you left. So, what happened?” Dipper asked, ready to write it down on a notepad as if he was interviewing me.

Stan walked up behind the two kids before I had the chance to protest, “why don’t you two go wreak havoc or whatever somewhere else. I need to speak with Y/n.”

Mabel and Dipper groaned, but didn’t protest as Stan shoved them out of the gift shop. Stan walked back over to the chair he was sitting in. He gave a questioning look before he finally spoke up, “so, now that the kids are gone, tell me what you meant by you didn’t mean to walk through that stupid portal.”

I take a deep breath before speaking, “look, Stan, it was an accident. I was just doing some test runs on the mechanics. I was not prepared for it to start up and suck me in. I spent years trying to get back to you. I knew you’d be upset with me…I didn’t want to leave…” I answered.

“Then why were you building it in the first place!?” Stan was agitated.

“I…I wanted to win a Nobel prize or a huge patent so you and I could get out of that town. I wanted to give you the one thing you always talked about…to sail around the world on the adventure of a lifetime.

“I-I know I’m not the person you wanted to do that with…but I wanted to make you feel like you finally had someone who cared about you. I did care about you, more than you knew Stan.” I finally confessed.

Stan couldn’t even think of what to say. All these years he had blamed me for leaving him alone in the world again, but he didn’t know I had planned it out thoroughly. He felt like a jerk for judging me without knowing my true plan.

“Y-you were doing it…for me?”

I nodded, “I knew that either you could use the money to sail around the world, or bring the fortune to your family and make up for your mistake. Either way, I didn’t want the money or the fame, I was doing it because I thought it would make you happy.”

“And now I’m the jerk for blaming you after all these years…and I never really asked why you were doing it.”

I smile softly at hsi response. It wasn’t completely wrong. I wanted Stan to be able to rid himself of his guilt and move past his mistake. I had also been tricked into doing so, but I wasn’t ready to confess to him that if I had succeeded that he never would have gotten what I wanted him to get out of it.

“I think I was more upset that I lost the girl I was crushing on more than anything…” Stan confessed, rubbing the back of his neck.

“W-wait…y-you were crushing on me?” I was taken aback by his confession. I knew Stan liked me, but I never imagined he thought of me in that light.

He just nods, “that seems like a lifetime ago though. I’m different now than I used to be.”

“You and me both…” I look down at the floor knowing I probably opened a huge can of worms that I won’t be able to stick back in.

“I could tell. Whatever you saw in there, whatever you went through, must have been rough for you.”

“You have no idea.”

I floated in a daze. This place had no gravity, no sense of time, it was utter chaos.

“Well, well, well, if it isn’t dear ol’ sweet Y/n. What brings you here sweetheart?” Bill’s voice seemed to boom as it had really nothing to bounce off of.

“B-Bill? Where am I?”

“You’re in my dimension. Too bad your invention failed because if it hadn’t this would be released upon your dimension, and you and I could rule over everything! I could just imagine it.”

“Y-your dimension? This is where you live?” I was horrified at what I saw.

Bill was surrounded by strange and weird beings of chaos. I couldn’t believe I had been tricked. Had I truly succeeded, it would have meant the end of the world as I knew it, everyone I cared about would have been put in danger, and It would have been all my fault.

Bill starts to laugh his demented laugh, “yes! Welcome to the Nightmare Realm! A place where chaos reigns! Too bad you failed med, I could have used a partner in crime to help create chaos with me.”

“You tricked me! I trusted you!”

“If I told you my true plans you would have backed out of it. I had no choice, sweetheart.”

“Stop calling me that! I’m not your sweetheart anymore, Cipher! You tricked me, and almost made me destroy my world!”“Not my sweetheart anymore huh?” He looked like he was starting to get angry.

I knew I needed to get away. I started to float away from him as he called his henchmaniacs to catch me. I floated towards an asteroid field and was able to avoid getting caught. I slipped into the hole looking for sanctuary. That’s when I realized I wasn't alone.

After Stan and I talked things out, I needed to find something mindless to get my mind off of everything. I decided to try and get to know the young Pines twins better. They were both sitting in the living room watching TV.

“Hey kids.” I say softly, announcing my presence.

“Y/n!” They both exclaimed excitedly.

“I thought Stan was going to tell you to stay away from us or something?” Mabel blurted out.

I giggle softly, “no, Stan doesn’t mind me trying to get to know the two of you. Just, no questions about where I came from or about the portal, okay?”

“Ah, come on, just one question each, please?” Mabel begged.

“I’m sorry, but I’d rather not talk about what I’ve seen or been through. Not to mention, Stan and Ford both think it’s best you two stay away from that subject.”

“One question each, and then no more after that, please Y/n?” Mabel begged harder, flashing the biggest puppy dog eyes I’ve ever seen.

I sigh and give in, “okay, okay. One question each, but if I think it is too personal, I have the right to refuse to answer it.”

“Deal!” Dipper and Mabel exclaim enthusiastically.

“I’ll go first, how do you know Stan?” Mabel blurted out.

“Stan and I were friends at one point,” I see Mabel go to say something, but I stop her, “no Mabel, you cannot follow up with a question. The truth I’m sure will be revealed in due time.”

“Okay, can I ask how you knew I was going to ask that?” Mabel questioned.

“That’s an appropriate question and allows you to get to know me, so yes, that’s okay. I am a very perceptive person, I can read a person by just looking into their eyes.”

“That’s so awesome!”

“Okay, Dipper, which one of your billion questions are you gonna ask me? I can tell you’re the curious one.”

Dipper smiles and flips through his notepad, “where were you before you came out of that portal?”

I had to think about how to answer that without revealing too much. Luckily it was a fairly broad question, so I felt like I could answer this without revealing too much about myself, “I was in a place that I wish no one else to see, not even my mortal enemies.”

“Yeesh, that sounds horrible. You seem so…optimistic, how did you maintain that?”

“Is that too much of a revealing question!?” Mabel yelled as I went to answer.

“No, again it helps you two better understand who I am and how I function in difficult situations. Well, to be straight to the point and sort of sappy, the thought of returning home kept me optimistic. I’ve always been that way I guess, so maintaining that mindset was fairly easy considering the strain I was under.”

The kids continued to go back and forth on questions to get to know me as a person, the person I was before I went into the portal. The person I hoped was still in there somehow. In turn, they told me more about themselves, and I felt like I was really starting to bond with them.

“So, did you go to college?”

I shake my head, “as egotistical as it sounds, I felt like I was too good for college, like there was nothing it was going to teach me that I didn’t already know, you know? So, rather than spending thousands of dollars on education I felt was futile, I spent time doing what I loved, and looking for grants in other ways.”

“That’s possible?” Dipper questined, intrigued.

“Uh…sure. I definitely think you should pursue higher education. Don’t end up like me.”

Mabel went to ask another question when someone behind us cleared their throat. I turned to see who it was. Ford stood there and gestured for me to come with him. I nodded and stood up, “sorry kids, we can finish this later. It’s been really good talking to you two.”

The kids waved as Ford and I walked back into the gift shop and down to the basement. He didn’t say anything the entire walk down, and I was getting concerned. “Did I say something too revealing to the kids?”

Ford shakes his head, “no, I know you would try to protect them as much as Stan or I would. No, this is something much more serious. I found this while dismantling the portal.” Ford shows me a base and globe containing colorful glowing matter.

“I-is that what I think it is?”

Ford nods, “an interdimensional rift. I contained it, but I’m afraid that Bill may know about this…and will do anything to get his hands on it. I think this may also be the cause of your vivid dreams.”

My eyes widened, “you think that Bill might be heightening my connection to him and tormenting me into possibly making a deal so he can possess me to break the rift?”

Ford chuckles lightly, “it’s like you took the words right out of my mouth. I always forget how perceptive you are. Unfortunately, because of the connection Bill has with you already, encrypting your thoughts is going to be a difficult task to undertake.”

I take a deep breath, “I want to erase my memories then.”

I dont feel bad for the ones who would be disappointed when the next acotar book comes out. Not my fault that yall literally gaslighted yourselves so bad.

This series is not unpredictable. As you read throughout the books, you see feyre with tamlin and then rhysand was introduced. It was obvious that she'd probably get with rhysand (and she did!!')

Nesta and Cas meet. It's obvious by the tension and banter they had that they would obviously get together!! and guess what?? THEY DID.

Same with Elain! Elain meets Az, its all simple and then as the books go on, it becomes something more. they are basically slow burn.

Like as you read this SIMPLE romantasy series, you can tell who's next. I dont know why people are being so dramatic and bringing out english majors 💀

Yah, I don’t feel bad either, especially knowing that the book is going to receive backlash and so will SJM no matter how good it is. It could be the next ACOMAF and people would still hate it cause it’s not their ship, which is a shame. People don’t have to read it if they don’t want to but the hate the Elriel book will bring will be crazy.

And look, I get it. Not everyone is going to like Elain, not everyone is going to like Elriel, there’s SJM couples I personally don’t vibe with and would have preferred with others but I could always tell who was endgame and who was being built up (key word here—built up) and just accepted it. I wasn’t out here trying to gaslight the fandom in no you’re wrong actually, Aelin should be with Dorian cause of example ABC (and Dorian and Aelin at least had interest and flirty scenes together)

And I get that people will naturally look for another option besides Elain and Elriel if they don’t like it. But that’s what Gwynriel is. People like Gwyn, she’s single, and she’s in the same vicinity as Azriel. That’s enough for some people because it’s not Elain, it’s not a ship they are excited for. So they create one they ARE excited for—which is fine, I’m not against people shipping anything. Could people have come naturally to a Gwynriel ship? Sure, you don't want Elriel together so you latch onto Gwyn because she's single, you like her, and she's...there and then you can go back thru the book to highlight things you think support what you want. I believe the majority of it stems from Elain hate on the Gwynriel side and poor bby Lulu on Elucien side who don’t like Elain mostly but want Lucien to get whatever he wants (which we could argue outside of instinct he doesn’t want Elain but alas) and being shippers of one naturally suits the other so they try to bolster the other in their forced interpretations.

The problem is the cherry picking, the twisting canon and narrative, being purposefully obtuse—at times even degrading the characters in the ship they want so bad (Azriel)— the insistence that Elriel is not happening and people just didn’t read closely enough or need fancy Lit Degrees to understand the nuance of Gwynriel when SJM has just never written her couples like that—-they have always been blatant in their interest either from their POV or other characters talking about observing them. And I mean blatant—Azriel looking at Gwyn cause she laughed and being slightly amused is not blatant, that is an interaction any two characters can have—-Elain and Azriel are observed to have a charged look between them, that’s blatant. Azriel had blushed for Elain, Elain has gone to fix her hair for Azriel—like it can’t be more in your face.

I could go on how in a post GoT media world people are too obsessed with theories and “figuring things out” and showing how smart they are by guessing plot twists and the like—-which yeah, can be fun but it’s gone beyond that to over examining every little thing to death and assuming every single sentence, word, action is up for interpretation when that is just not the case. Some writing can be like that—SJM is not.

As someone who has read books all my life—-I’ve never been wrong about intended love interests. (And guess what, I took higher level literature courses in college—am I legit now to comment on romantasy books???) There’s specific patterns and scenes for endgame couples that just wouldn’t happen if they were not IT and especially with SJM. Her couples have never shocked me. The twists in her stories have never shocked me. She is a very obvious writer—-for all the talk about crumbs and foreshadowing, I find that SJM is pretty straightforward. Sure, there’s things there to support the narrative, little hints, but it’s mostly obvious in your face.

So no, I don’t feel bad for the rude awakening antis are in for. I hope they still enjoy their ship but I can’t wait til we can finally put this shit to rest. I don’t think the fandom can ever go back to a pre-ACOSF state and I honestly think the ship war has done major damage to the fandom and SJM herself which is really sad to think about.

Any lil headcanons or theories on just what in the fuck are up with Ada's eyes?

Reflective/mirrored contacts (sclera lenses to be precise)!

This perfectly ties in with this section of my post about my headcanons for Asa:

His intention when making his mask was to disturb and unsettle. His outfit fosters the sort of fear he’s after from the get-go. One glimpse of that mask, the flashing blade and those reflective eyes in a dark room, and his victims know instinctively what is about to happen to them.

Everything about how Asa presents himself is heavily curated to perfection. It’s like a play to him, the house he targets is his stage and the people his (unwilling) participants. Same goes for his hotel shenanigans, though he really feels 100% in control there, so he tends to bend the rules a bit from time to time (not wearing his mask, speaking to his victims, etc).

Fun fact about his eyes:

According to Asa’s first actor, Juan Fernandez, Asa is blind, which is why his eyes look the way they do (and I’ve heard people say his eyes remind them of cataracts). You also get a brief glimpse into Asa’s POV in the first movie, showing that his vision is restricted. It’s the scene where Arkin and the girl (forgot her name lol) visually trick Asa by using a mirror.

So yeah, he’s pretty fuckin’ blind—though, again, I don’t think his restricted vision caused his eyes to look that way. I think he has bad vision (which is why I like to portray him wearing glasses sometimes) and wears lenses, which just serve to fuck up his vision even more haha. Alas, he has an image to uphold.

There is no canon explanation given for his eyes, and I don’t think the creators really put that much thought behind it either. In the commentary for the first movie, the director said that Asa’s eyes are like that to resemble the likes of a wolf (or jackal, not sure—a predator nonetheless), the writer chiming in, joking that ‘you just made his eyes look like that because it looks cool, didn’t you?’ and they both laughed.

We may never get an answer, but the consensus is yes, he’s blind to a degree and in my personal opinion he wears reflective/mirrored sclera lenses to make himself appear more frightening to his victims :>

s6 episode 3 "triangle" thoughts

okay. i have been told that this one is good. and i recognize the title of this episode from a piece of art i saw once where scully had a dress on. which made me need to catch my breath.

so. i am excited!!

let us read the episode description... hmm. i was one of those kids who was really worried about the bermuda triangle when i was little, so this might be healing for me. or make things worse.

post-episode thoughts: i am typing this after just having finished the episode, and i am feeling secret emotions i did not know existed an hour or so ago. wow. the nature of reality is that it can be SO profound. and i don’t even fully know what did or didn’t happen, which i believe was cultivated intentionally, but the friendships we made along the way were so real.

mulder, i will figure out what your deal is. scully, i will hold and cherish you forever.

we open on some waaaater. it seems a shipwreck has taken place!! NO, IS THAT DEAD MULDER? COME ON NOW, I DON’T WANT THAT.

they tell scully she needs to get information from the pentagon, and she heads off to go get it!!!

(more post-episode thoughts: i also think that it is really interesting that she trusts the lone gunmen enough that she hears what they have to say and then IMMEDIATELY goes straight to skinner because she knows they wouldn't lie to her. even if their story sounds ridiculous, there has to be some element of truth to it, because it's Them, and they have helped the agents for so long, and they wouldn't joke about mulder being in trouble. and it's also very interesting how she drops absolutely everything and barely formulates a plan as to what to do next, because scully is usually the queen of plans and knowing what to do, and so rarely do we get to see her being impulsive... i just think it's neat)

well, the good news is, this is so uncharacteristic for her that if it’s her word against spender’s, they might be pretty evenly matched. i mean, maybe he has the promotion, but she has the longer record of service, and while she may have been demoted to domestic terrorism, she is known as the scientist and rationalist, soooo…

(i cannot quite figure out what relationship spender has to her. he sounded legitimately concerned and did not question her at all. is his personal fury more directed at mulder? i mean, there was that horrible moment where he implied that mulder was using her that was all thick and weird and tense, and he probably still has residual anger from her talking to his mother, but he doesn't seem as mad at her as he is at mulder, because if mulder came in there and did that he would have simply pulled out his gun)

very sad to see that the basement office is now filled with spender's things. i noticed he has some medal on the wall. but cannot tell what it comes from. it's far too organized!

modern scully and the lone gunmen are breaking into the ship trying to find mulder!! while a jazzy soundtrack plays!! and mulder and past scully are trying to save the ship!!

i love that he explains it to her through the lens of einstein because he knows that she would have that as a frame of reference. because there is no scully, past or present or future, who wouldn't know about einstein. that's a very cute nod to her thesis.

AND THEN. LONG MAKEOUT SESSION. IN CASE WE NEVER MEET AGAIN????

she PUNCHES HIM, he remarks that he was expecting a left jab, and then he JUMPS OFF THE SIDE OF THE BOAT??

past scully tosses a life preserver over!!!! and we’re back to the present!!!!

ohhh, mulder has flowers by his hospital bed, and the lone gunmen and skinner are all there… they must have fished him out!!

he’s trying to explain to her how she saved the world!!! and she just sarcastically agrees.

and the queen anne was just a ghost ship!!!!

(turns out a ghost ship means a ship with nobody on it, not a phantom of a boat. this is important to know because at first i was like "wtf, scully believes in ghosts now, but only for boats?")

skinner tells mulder that he better get well soon because is going to kick his ass (deserved) and then he and the gunmen leave. but scully stays behind.

“i would’ve never seen you again. but you believed me” (she leans in) “in your dreams” 

ohhh... it is sickeningly sweet as she tells him to go to sleep.

“hey, scully?” (he sits up) “yes?” (loooong silence) “i love you” “…oh, brother”

(as she leaves, he cradles the eye where past scully punched him in the face, smiling)

oh my god. i mean, it’s not like we really needed confirmation that he had feelings for her, but. like. that was it. he said the words. and then held his face where she punched him and remembered kissing her.

so, did the time warp really happen? who is to say? it’s fun to turn around both possibilities in your mind. the possibility that past scully really did believe him and was able to save the world AND the possibility that it would only happen in his dreams. 

there is so much to analyze here.

spender being a nazi… and skinner being a nazi… and CSM being a nazi… some of these make more sense than others. what are the implications... spender could speak both languages... is that an indication he is a double agent?

her saying “oh brother” to his love confession… oh my god, she must have thought he was sky high… i wonder how she felt hearing him say that? i wonder if she thought it was a joke, or if he really meant it, or it was the insane ramblings of someone very ill. i wonder if part of her felt crushed to hear those words, like that fragile thing that they have between them was being tampered with. or i wonder if she had always wanted to hear him say that and never let herself imagine it. either way, better to approach it from the angle of a sick man's mumbling. probably the only way to make sense of it. but i know she went home Wondering.

and what are they going to do about scully’s erratic behavior???? she normally conducts herself with such rationality! and today she barged in on two assistant directors, threatened to kill spender, and then ran off with the gunmen in a wagon! oh my god!!! i guess we won’t know!!! it looks like the next episode is a two parter, so i doubt that we will have time to examine the consequences from today.

but then again, rationality isn't ALWAYS her thing. gestures to all of the times she has nearly killed someone for getting between her and mulder before.

if you do consider the time warp to have actually happened, it’s very interesting that it shows scully has the capacity for belief. this whole episode was analyzing how scully responds to crisis- but that particular crisis being losing him for real. there have been close calls before, but this was unexpected and bizarre. usually she is very calm in crisis. but there are certain things in life you simply cannot prepare for. there’s FBI training on hostage situations and disease protocol, but nothing for “your partner travels back in time”

skinner…. my best friend…. he put it all on the line for them AND made an incredibly convincing performance in front of spender and CSM… the oscar goes to him

oh scully, i just. oh my god, man. i love her!!! her being impulsive because she had no choice!!! telling spender she would kill him!!! and then going in the hallway and mumbling “stupid, stupid”!!! apologizing for smacking that lady!!! kissing her boss on the mouth with her eyeballs open because she was so overcome with emotion!! that is MY disaster medical doctor special agent scully!!

and mulder thinking he was going to to die slash never be born at all so he KISSED her while he could…. and then back in the real world using his delirium as an excuse to say “i love you”, to hear how those words sound coming from his mouth… just to know what it felt like...

oh my god. i need to snuggle into a big cuddly blanket and scream a little.

so, now let us analyze mulder's recent behavior, stretching from the tail end of s5 to now. and you have to promise that you won't tell me if any particular theories i put forward are right or wrong! you can only comment on if you think my proposed theories are interesting. because i assume that YOU know why mulder is being weird (snapping at scully, agreeing to go undercover, fucking off to investigate a ship, and then confessing love despite his actions and words indicating disdain, etc) but i just do not.

i can put together from the comments left on my last posts and vague subtext in the show itself that there is SOMETHING afoot with mulder, which is why he is acting like a dick. but i cannot figure out WHAT it is. my guess is that maybe he is in some sort of danger so he’s trying to push scully away?? in an attempt to save her?? like when he went undercover, but maybe something even bigger and scarier??? but maybe he could use his vulnerability to confess how he really felt while he had the chance?? and then he will go back to being all moody?? because he thinks that he is in danger and doesn't have much time left? and maybe he thinks that if he acts all rude and terrible scully will be able to handle his demise?

the only other thing i can guess (and again: don’t tell me if i’m right or wrong!! i just want to voice my thoughts) is that maybe something is happening with his mom?? but if his mom was sick or dying or something, it still doesn’t make sense for him to take it out on scully. but then again, people take their rage out on each other in real life all the time, even if it doesn't make any sense.

maybe it’s something with his sister? i mean we saw his “sister” that CSM brought to him a while ago, but it was never addressed again… i mean, i don’t believe it was really her anyway, but maybe he thinks that diana can help him find her?? because she came back into town for some unfinished business or for family or something- what was it she said in the car with gibson? so maybe they’re plotting something together?? and he thinks (stupidly) that diana can help him with some secret thing he cannot tell scully about???

man. i don’t know. and i will have to just keep moving forward to find out. which means i will probably have to endure more bitchy mulder before i get answers. and then once i DO get answers, i will have to see if i judge them to be valid or not. 

but let us not look too far into the future. let us look to what we have been given, which is 1939 AU scully in a beautiful red backless dress, and noir detective canon scully, and sleepy, loopy, delirious lover boy mulder, and skinner who is the best boss around, and three guys in a wagon who will save their buddy from a time-traveling ship. and that is so beautiful. amen.

i realize i wrote all of that and never outright stated my feelings on the episode. while you probably picked up on it, but i did enjoy it! i was laughing and gasping and blushing and giggling. it was nice to have a change in pace. i thought the way it was shot was really interesting as well, with all of the perpetual motion. it had many of the things i consider integral to a good episode, which include, but are not limited to: skinner acting prickly and detached but then pulling through and saving the day, scully threatening to kill people and commanding a scene, mulder nerding tf out and reciting facts, fun costumes, MSR bait, and things you can turn around in your head over and over to make your own interpretations on! i'm not sure if it would make my top 15 episodes list just because it was SO zany and i'm having trouble wrapping my head around that, but definitely a contender.

i have a feeling my thoughts on this episode will grow and change with time, which is perfectly acceptable. i'll try to crack the symbolism of mulder's time warp visions in more detail moving forward, and i will probably find scully's panic somewhat out of character, if endearing. but you only get to watch something for the first time once. and so we share this moment together, you and i.

This chapter is titled "It Never Ends" in Scrivener….if that tells you anything about how much this fic spun out of my control 😅 whoops. I had zero of this except the very last scene in my plans for this fic. I told my friend he should take me out sniper style if I tried to add even more because I’d already spent two months on writing this and had all my editing to go back and do still. He did not stop me from adding more. Betrayal.

But yeah, there wasn’t originally any Belobog, much less any getting into Blade’s stalking and brief appearance as Smiling Black Dragon. I couldn’t resist the opportunity though, especially since I don’t think that event is very well known? Maybe it was just me who didn’t know though, cause I joined the fandom late.

Did Serval canonically ever visit the Express? I know we had that quest about her planning to join up, but she didn’t go through with it. I don’t know if she ever got around to a casual visit, so I’m saying it still hasn’t happened. Also that Himeko and Welt still haven’t visited Belobog. All for the sake of one dumb joke about people mistaking Blade for Welt cause they’ve never met Welt. I’m not funny -_-

The entirety of belobog: is it rude to ask a hero why they suddenly have horns and pointy ears? Maybe this is normal for people from beyond the sky? I think it should be shared somewhere that one of my edit notes on this fic was: "Make Shard Sword his emotional support sword." Because I am still laughing to myself about that They are both losers. DH had to go to the girls for date ideas because he is a nerd with nerd hobbies. Blade, meanwhile, has no hobbies other than stalking because depression and PTSD. And they want to date??? Tragic.

Dan Heng can be impulsive and emotional (still laughing about Taoran, though there was definite forethought put into that one. Get fucked, shit-breather), but at the end of the day, he’s a very rational and level-headed person. I think I struck a decent balance between these things in that last argument… But I do worry that I’ve made Dan Heng too much of a doormat at times 😭He’s not being a doormat, I promise. He’s just trying to think things through and be understanding. He doesn't like to act before having a decent idea of the full picture.

Also, for all that Blade very much doesn’t worship Bibi, he really puts him up on a pedestal sometimes. Like, damn, son. You know he’s just some guy, and you still think the whole world of him. That’s gay.

And talk about finding the most creepy, stalker-ish way to say “I love you.” Guess that fits Blade tho lmao Also wtf you mean you got nothing else left? Smh, you got all of the Stellaron Hunters at your back and you know it!! Ugh, talk about self-centered and idiotic

I considered Catan as well, but I didn’t feel like looking up the rules and it’s been a while since I last played. I don’t know how you would cheat at the farming game. I honestly do not. The Nameless are just that powerful.

Kafka’s relationship with Blade strikes me as more distant than the other two Hunters just because Kafka is like that. She holds everyone at a distance. She’s Blade’s friend, for sure, but she’s the person he goes to when he wants a distraction from his thoughts. She’s not someone he calls just to chat with or hang out. They're working on it tho

No smut for y’all. Like, two thirds of the tag is smut, so I feel no guilt over this. My ace ass does not need to find out if I can write convincing porn yet. I fully and truly believe that Blade would not have been ready to accept anything except murder-suicide with Dan Heng if he hadn’t had the Stellaron Hunters to support him moving back towards being human. You know the drill: found family, cold dead hands, etc, etc

I don’t think Blade’s suicidal ideation can be solved so easily. He’s spent too long suffering and wishing for death. That kind of thing lingers. He’s going to continue wishing for death, but now he’s willing to live as well, and I think that’s real progress plus a good place to leave him.

(I could be way off with this and wrong but I’ve been thinking about this a bit.)

My personal theory is that Fadel did look into his ex disappearing. I know they don’t show it on screen explicitly but I believe that since Lilly put a hit on his ex she would have made sure that anywhere Fadel did look that is the conclusion he would come to.

It’s helpful when you’re killing someone sometimes to make it look like they just disappeared of their own volition rather than had something happen to them. How this was done we may never know but since Keen also knows about it and even brought it up to Fadel directly (before revealing he was killed I mean) I think it’s possible they may have had a conversation about it after the fact where this belief was somehow reinforced. Like because Keen deals with the information collection and desk portion of the job the most despite them not getting on he may have provided “proof” of his ex leaving. Maybe it’s part of why Fadel asked why he didn’t tell him?

Lilly also seems pretty set in earlier episodes on the whole “you can’t trust anyone” thing so I don’t doubt that she used this somehow to reinforce that idea in Fadel’s head regardless of if she was also making sure he believed the lie that he had just left him.

Either way unless the show tells us all we have are theories I guess.

Some of the topics in your ask I have just answered in another response lol but I want to answer here too!

A part of me wants to believe that Fadel DID look too. I even said if I had written the show, I would have had him do that. Even if it was secretly, and I would have had him slowly realizing that Khun Lily put a hit on him and then he would start questioning everything about her and her relationship with them all. Because there have been a couple of times in the show that Fadel looks like he is suspicious of her and acting in a protective manner towards Bison. Like in episode 10 when Ruerat tells them that she was the one that killed their parents and Bison is ready to just snap this dude's neck for LYING, Fadel looked like puzzle pieces were falling into place. (yes, the next scene has him kind of trying to back track, but I think that is a normal reaction when you don't want to believe something because it will fuck up your whole world if it's true)

But back to Khun Lily whispering in Fadel's ear. She totally tried to sabotage that whole relationship and when it didn't work, she had him killed. And they probably did a very good clean up job with it too. Like I totally think that if Fadel had looked into his ex's disappearance he would have found something like...oh he was in a terrible accident, or he moved abroad, or whatever else Keen cooked up for it. I fully believe that that could have been something they did. Because if they are actually competent in their jobs as hitman, they would make all these things seem like accidents or that other people did it. And of course this lady has brainwashed these boys from a young age to do her bidding and not question her sooooo

Yeah, those are my thoughts.

And also, the show isn't going to give us any substantial back stories, so we are just going to be stuck with theories and head canons lol

(I mean, considering what happened to the victim in “Piece it Together”… yeah :p. Then again, maybe the victim will just be found in the pool or something)

“Even if Monoquin has technically opened the door and let the dogs out, it’s no fun to be a lone wolf. The outdoors are only great if there are cute people around to shine in the sunlight.” I’m assuming this means the pool area is open now, which makes sense given the CH title.

“I haven’t actually ventured out any further than my doorstep. After all, there could be murderers on the–“ Oh wow, so we’re paranoid paranoid, huh?

“…sending everybody the same message in separate chat rooms so they can’t tell that you sent everybody the same message.” Lol.

“Paris: just freshening up! gotta look my best after everything that’s happened <3” Can’t stop slaying just because someone slayed, of course!

I’ve just been hanging out with Kennedy a lot, so everything gets the asterisk.” I really love the Vivi-Kennedy duo, and it’s moments like these that make me look back at when I requested them as a pair for the Prologue Bonus Scenes and wonder how the hell I managed to get so lucky with landing on what is essentially a canon “pair-up” lol.

“Ellis: Plus, there are plenty of great distractions around. First of all, there’s me, but we also get to go outside now. Then there’s all the stuff we had access to before, like drinking at the Bar, gambling at the Casino, catching a screening at the Movie… Theater…” Antonia really fucked things up for everyone by making half the rooms in the building connected to her murder in some way, huh? Now you can’t do shit around here without thinking about Cass xD

“Noah: Ellis, you got any plans?

Ellis: I’m down to do anyone tonight.” Bruh.

“Ellis: Unless you had something in mind~?

Noah suggests we head to the Bar after dinner. Vivi and Robert are still kinda judging us, but when have I ever let that stop me? We manage to have a pretty good time, getting drunk and laughing a good part of the night away before we head back to our respective rooms.” I guess we’re drinking our problems away! Hopefully getting drunk doesn’t become a habit, might get Noah killed if he’s not careful.

“Maybe it’ll be some sorta torture chamber, or… giant firing squad, or… something.

Or, maybe there’ll be a mini golf course!” xD

“As I lie down, I have to wonder whether drinking enough to get drunk is really a good idea, given the circumstances.” I just brought this up- Ellis’ thought process in these more serious moments is worryingly close to mine lol.

“If I’m with someone, that means I’ve got an alibi. […] But, what if Noah went drinking with someone else? What if something… happened to one of them…?” My point exactly.

“Wait a minute, I don’t care about what happens to them! Silly drunk Ellis, always mixing things up.” Yeah sure, I absolutely believe you (psst- I don’t).

“Vanessa: …How are you guys all still like this?

Kennedy: Like what?

Vanessa: Calm…? Playful, even? It’s like… do you not even care that someone just died?!

Grace: Would you prefer for us to stay hung up on it forever?

Vanessa: No, but it’s a day! One day! That’s not forever!

Paris: Look, babe, people grieve in different ways! Don’t stress yourself out about it.” Fun character discussions :D

“Grace: No, not her. It’s the numbers. We had our first Trial within a week. Does that mean we’ll be at another within this week…?” Shit really does move fast here, huh?

“Grace: I don’t want to be stuck here. If the killing game is inevitable, it’s better to kill now.” Oh okay. I was worried Grace was being too normal, good to see they’re still very much insane!

“Grace: Two: try to slow the killing by any means possible. Including figuring out who’s most likely to crack.

Ellis: Uh… and that would help, how…? Are you gonna, like, put them in solitary confinement or something?

Grace: No, I’ll only know to keep an eye on them. And, I suppose, from a more selfish point of view… if I keep my guard up around them, if they do kill, I won’t be the one becoming a victim.” Glad to see everyone’s still being so strategic about the killing game, it’s a fun aspect of this cast :)

[Description of the Fountains] Hey, it’s the murder location! Or, one of the potential ones, anyways.

“Mark: …Doesn’t the killing game make it something else? If people have died here and all this suffering happened, then… I don’t think it can be beautiful anymore.

Ellis: I dunno. A person is still beautiful even if terrible stuff has happened around them, right?” Aww, surprisingly sweet from Ellis :)

“Ellis: There’s nothing that could make me think you aren’t stunning, anyways.

I try not to think about Antonia. Mark’s cheeks are slightly pink.” Would Ellis still shoot their shot with Antonia after All That? It’d be interesting to say the least, but I’m not sure he’d go that far lol.

“Ellis: But, there’s no way this place was built for this purpose… right?

I look out at the fountains, drops of mist forming rainbows in the air.

Mark: Can we really be sure…?” Hmm… I wonder…

“Ellis: I do.

Fuck.

Ellis: I mean– I… I do declare, that is Davis I see! Standing at the end of the aisle! Looking like the most breathta– I mean– best guy for the job… of investigating!

“Most best guy for the job?” You did not do the most best job on that one, Ellis.” Alright this is hilarious xD Watching Ellis try not to flirt with Davis ‘cuz it makes him uncomfortable, even though the Ultimate Bachelor talent is working against her, is equal parts funny and kinda wholesome in a way.

“Davis: Do you want to get married, someday?

Ellis: H-huh?

That was not the question I was expecting him to hit me with.

Ellis: Uh… I mean, not really. I’d rather stay free, y’know? I’m too much of a hot commodity to stay committed to just one lucky soul.” Hell of a conversation to have in a killing game of all places, but Ellis’ answer makes perfect sense :)

“Ellis: I… get the sense that you would?

Davis: …Yeah. I’d really love to, someday.

Ellis: If you put your mind to it, I’m sure it’ll come true. After all, you’re… you.

Davis: It’s never going to work out that way…” What is up with Davis anyways? He feels like he has a lot of shit going on that we’re not seeing yet. Interesting guy, this one.

[Pool description] Ah, there’s the other potential murder location! I did think there was a pool that’d been mentioned at some point.

“Ellis: So then, does this place pass the certified Jeff vibe check?

Jeff: Well, on the whole, the vibe’s definitely still bad. But here, it’s easier to ignore. Feels like home, y’know?” Watch him get killed in the pool lol. But I do appreciate the “vibe check” coming back from the FTE, it’s something that’s really cool about this format :)

“Jeff: Now that there’s so much more space, if I don’t want to do something, I can just leave!” Certified Jeff moment.

“Jeff: Yeah. I’m sure I’ll get bored of it eventually, though. Honestly, if we get new stuff any time someone kills, the killers should hurry up already…” Wow people in this killing game really want to speedrun the entire thing huh? It’s kinda funny :p

“Vivi: Really? Didn’t you ever have one of those vacations where you went to some beach town, rented out a little house and had fun with your family? We used to do it all the time!” LOORE- I gotta, like, stop screaming that every time a backstory piece gets dropped huh xD

“Vivi: Man, I hope I get to see them again soon. Family vacations were always the best. 

Noah: Really? I mean, it’s nice to spend time with the people you care about, but it can get kinda… tense, right?

“…I don’t spend much time inspecting the other houses. Maybe that decision will come back to bite me someday, but… no it won’t! I’m the Ultimate Lucky Student! If I’m not going, there must be nothing of importance in there.” Gotta love that reasoning xD

“Vanessa: Everyone else is trying to just pretend that nothing happened… Why? Why would they do that…?

Ellis: Uh…

I’m not… equipped… to answer that question…?” Poor Ness, what the hell can Ellis even say about that?

“Robert: To me, it’s more of a question of how. You’re all so impressive, able to carry on as though nothing bad has happened. I could never do that…” Oh, hey, it’s that thing from the Bonus Scene! Cool!

“Ellis: Y’know… just… don’t think about it!” Alright Whit Young calm it down now /silly

“I try not to think about Antonia. Or Cass. Or Cass’ torso. Or Cass’ arms. Or Cass’--“ Bruh.

“Vanessa: But isn’t that, like, super disrespectful to them? Even if Toni left me behind, I’m still upset that she’s gone…!

Ellis: Aw, come on… wouldn’t Antonia… rather that you have a happy smile and a fun time, even while she’s gone, or… something like that?” Well, they sure are trying!

“Since the last time I was here, the Show Room’s completely changed. While last time it had a prison-like aesthetic with brick walls and shackles, this time it’s set up to look more like a dreary hill with fading grass. On the grass, though, there are several blank tombstones scattered around the room with graves dug out in front of them.” I’m… confused, I’m not gonna lie. The Show Room didn’t really come up in the first trial, and it’s unlikely it’ll come up again now (even if someone took the handcuffs, they could also just order some from the Customer Service Desk), which leads me to believe there’s some grander meaning to this thing than just a cool set piece for murder mysteries.

If it’s some kind of lore meaning, we’ll probably have to wait until future chapters for a clearer picture of what’s going on, but it could also be some kind of symbolism thing. Like, in the first chapter, they were just dealing with imprisonment, but now they’re also dealing with death? Though in CH1 the thing that really got Cass killed was suspicion and all that. And I don’t know what future chapters would be under this reading.

… I am overthinking this too much, even for my standards xD

“Aidan’s climbing out of one [of the graves]” Huh??? Alright not only is that kinda funny, I’m also slightly worried that might be foreshadowing Aidan being put in a grave this chapter. Hopefully it’s a false alarm though.

“Kennedy: Of course it’s dreary… because it’s all connected!

Aidan: Oh god, here we go again…

Kennedy: The room must connect to the new motive! Something with death… This one will be harrowing for sure.” And how have we arrived at this conclusion???

“Aidan: There are only eleven graves.

Ellis: Huh. Weirdly specific number.” It really is. I mean, it’s the number of deaths stipulated in the Prediction Game format, which is one victim and killer per CH over 5 CH with two victims in CH3, so it tracks. The question is why the killing game organizers would actually put eleven graves there.

Like, the rules aren’t set up for five survivors, and the THH game had six so it’s not that the MM’s going for a Junko recreation, so it’s just a very odd number to imply with the eleven graves. It’s also not that this is one of the 52 killing games prior to V3, because if I recall correctly only THH knowledge is required to understand One Shot.

Did the previous killing games mentioned in One Shot also have 5 survivors? How? Does that make any sense? So many questions… Maybe I should let Kennedy keep talking so I sound slightly less insane by comparison.

“Kennedy: If there are three fewer graves than participants, then… hmm… then there may be two traitors alongside the mastermind!” You still don’t get five survivors even if you do one mm + 2 traitors + 1 true survivor, but I do love the idea of Kennedy adding a traitor to her calculations every chapter. By the time CH5 rolls around he’s thinking half the cast are traitors xD

[Kennedy FTE] LET’S GO!!! Kennedy FTE!!!

“Kennedy: Sixteen adults, not students, and yet, we’re participating in a “killing game” with titles modeled off of Hope’s Peak Academy… What does it all mean?

Kennedy: So you think they’re fans of Japanese culture? It’s definitely possible, but then there’s the question of why they would pick specifically Hope’s Peak. Monoquin is even called a Headmaster, even though we’re not at a school.

Ellis: People have called me a “head master,” if you catch my drift.

Kennedy: …

They decide to ignore my comment. Noted: poor listener.” Already some fun ideas being thrown around, and Ellis is not letting one go as usual xD

“Ellis: Oh yeah? And you don’t think that the whole stupid mystery court case simulator implies that our mastermind here gets off on having people spin their wheels on these dumb riddles? What if you’re the one playing into their hands?

Kennedy: …

They point at me.

Kennedy: That’s a good theory. I want to hear more about that.” xD Ellis’ just too good.

“Kennedy: Don’t get complacent. If you accept the answer that’s too obvious, you’re sure to get it wrong.

Ellis: Jeez, grading your tests must’ve been a nightmare, huh?

Kennedy: Tests are pointless. They’re trying to teach you that there’s only one answer and one way to get there.” Kennedy really is a fascinating person to hear speak. Because they’re so unbelievably insane that it’s hard to take anything they say seriously, but their insanity stems from genuinely sound principles like endless curiosity and lateral thinking, which means they sometimes make a lot of sense. It’s fun :D

“Ellis: You need to relax. Thinking about all this crazy stuff all the time has gotta be bad for your, I dunno… vibes.

Kennedy: Oh, don’t worry about that. Theorizing is my talent, isn’t it? I can do this all day.” Interesting that the one thing they take at face value is their talent, which is still something the mm gave him. Makes sense, though, since it’s a skill intrinsic to her person.

“Kennedy: I know the best spots to hide my writing from the cameras in my room.” Wait, didn’t I say I would do this?!?! I’ve made posts talking about what I would do in a killing game, and one of the things I mentioned was writing plans to escape on paper and outside the view of the cameras! I am in this fangan and I don’t like it!!! (/silly, I actually find it pretty enjoyable that there’s a character who has a lot of the same ideas as me, even if it’s Kennedy fucking Rey xD)

“Taylor: Yeah, I know what you mean. Antonia might’ve signed up to die, in a way, but Cass, at least…

Paris: I don’t think it’s disrespectful at all. If they were here and we were dead, they’d totally be taking advantage of it too! Hate to say it, but we’re all competitors here, right? And this means we’re one step closer to winning. Right, Tay?

“Davis: …I guess it makes sense that everyone’s starting to think about how to win, huh? The whole “let’s get out of here together” thing couldn’t last forever.” Yeah it was never gonna go great with this cast was it :p

“What I’m doing is completely ethical! It’s not like the world’s biggest big shots didn’t reach the top by stepping over some scrubs. Sure, maybe those scrubs aren’t usually literal corpses, but that doesn’t make my eventual victory any less valid. I can look past that, straight through my heart-shaped sunglasses.

I watched the new episode of 9-1-1

a personal essay on queerbaiting (sorta)

I watched the new episode of 9-1-1, and immediately burst into tears as the credits started rolling.

Then I rewound the last six minutes, and watched the scene again, pausing to rewind the kiss. Again. And again. And again.

We got a kiss. I didn’t know we were getting a kiss. I sorta knew we were getting bi Buck, but I didn’t know we were getting a kiss. After last week’s episode, a lot of people were 100% convinced we were getting bi Buck. I saw their reactions before I watched that episode, too, and I was so confused once I finished it. Had we seen the same episode? That guy, Tommy, Buck’s so-called bisexual awakening-guy, was barely in there. He had about two memorable lines, and then he was in the background of a different shot, where he received a job-well-done slap on the shoulder from Buckley. That last one’s the one people were focusing on online. Look at the way this is framed, look at how he’s positioned, between Buck and Eddie. This is foreshadowing how he’s gonna get between them. Buck and Tommy is gonna be the gateway into buddie. They’re actually gonna do buddie, why else would they introduce a relationship between Buck and Tommy?

Reader, I’ll keep it straight with you. I did not believe them. After a while I gathered a lot of people already knew the name of the next episode; Buck, Bothered and Bewildered. They’d seen some stills, they knew there would be conflict and jealousy within that trio. They were putting it all together with comments and hints dropped by the actors. All those things added up, and it did paint a far more convincing picture. And I thought it was fun! I reblogged a few posts about it, I think, or at least I liked some. But the fact remains: I did not believe them. I thought, oh, imagine how cool it would be if they actually went there. I thought, yeah, realistically it would make sense to bring in a third person if they were actually gonna do it. That way they could test the waters, gauge audience response, and it could work as a catalyst for the relationship after so long. But mostly I thought Okay, so they’re gonna bring in Buck’s fear of not being enough for the people he loves again, this time through his friendship with Eddie, and we’re gonna get some sort of final resolution for that. Like, a big moment of catharsis. Or something along those lines, anyway. It just seemed to me like the most realistic thing that could happen. I mean, the idea of canon buddie was nice, of course it was! The queerbait is why I started watching the show in the first place: I wanted a good queerbait! But ultimately, a ship like that going canon was completely unrealistic. I speak from experience, after all.

Maybe it would’ve been different if I was younger. I remember being in fandoms when I was a teen. I remember reading theories, watching youtube-videos with “proof” that this or that was real, that it was gonna go canon. I remember getting my hopes up, thinking Oh my god what if they’re actually gonna do it!? for shows and pairings that, in hindsight, were completely unrealistic. Maybe that’s why I, even with fairly good evidence in front of me, didn’t actually get my hopes up this time. Because why be that stupid? Why invest emotionally like that? Why not just enjoy what we actually had instead, and then get anything extra from fanworks? Haven’t we learned by now?

I woke up this morning and opened tumblr, and I read half a sentence about how we actually have bisexual Buck confirmed canon now, before I quickly closed the app to avoid too detailed spoilers. Oh my god they were right! I can’t wait to watch the episode, I thought happily, and went on with my day. I opened the app again a few hours later, and scrolled for a few minutes, until I saw a brief glimpse of one, maybe one and a half gifs. Bucks face, Tommy’s face. Warm orange-y yellow lighting, Buck’s loft, you still owe me a beer. Close the app, move on. There were other posts throughout the day, more glimpses, all along the same lines as the first one. The last one came late in the evening, this time on twitter. Just the word in all caps; ANNOUNCEMENT, and then Bucks face and a bisexual pride flag.

And then finally, finally, after I’d brushed my teeth and gotten into bed, I was alone with my laptop, and I could watch the episode. The hype had built up, I was so excited to finally watch it. I was internally vibrating just a little bit. I was giggly, I was grinning widely, I was making comments to myself out loud, and laughing. I said oh my god, they’re really laying it on thick. I remember watching that scene for the first time and thinking how Tommy really looked so nervous at some points. That last one I found interesting. I really liked the actor’s portrayal; His facial expressions were quite subtle, and I thought he captured that nervous feeling so well. Maybe I took such notice of it because, well, I wasn’t quite expecting it.

I wasn’t expecting nervousness in an interaction between Buck and Tommy, because I still wasn’t actually expecting anything. At least I don’t think I was. Even with everything I’d seen online. Even as I was watching the show, I convinced myself. Those words, you still owe me a beer, they’ve misinterpreted them. They think it’s an invitation to a date because Buck’s jealousy in this episode is making it more plausible than ever before. Sure, the show’s leaning into it this time, but they’re gonna pull the rug out next episode. No, of course it wasn’t an invite to a date, what show were you watching, are you delusional? It’s just gonna be one week of people speculating and theorizing and building it up, and then the show’s gonna resolve it with some no-homo followed by a nice new buddie moment. The buzz will die down, and things will go back to normal.

And then the kiss happened. And then I burst into tears.

And now I think, oh my god isn’t it wild that they’re introducing a new romantic relationship for one of the main characters, and for the entire lead-up to the relationship, both Buck and Tommy are entirely focused on Eddie? Like, they’re just making everything about a third person! Imagine if they did this for anybody else! and, oh my god Tommy’s gonna break up with Buck because Buck’s basically already dating Eddie or something, isn’t he? and, oh my god it’s gonna be glorious! and, oh my god I can’t wait!

And I’m also thinking, I was wrong, and you were right. And I’m so happy I could cry.

TL;DR: If you and I share sterek, or destiel, or god knows what other similarly-shaped trauma, 9-1-1 might heal ya.

this is my theory:

My prediction for liliths motives is that she wants to ruin the hotel instead of helping it. I think that she was offered life in heaven in exchange for keeping hell in check and once Charlie started the haze in hotel, she needed help so she somehow got alastors soul. I think Alastor was initially indifferent and didn’t mind ruining the hotel, but that scene w nifty where he talks fondly about the hotel really showed us that he began to care about the hotel. I think he is going to be forced to backstab Charlie and unable to tell them why everyone will hate him (except Charlie who will still have a special place in her heart for him). I think he’s going to be forced to force husk and nifty to join him, not wanting to loose angel (it’s a canonical slow burn vivi confirmed it) he’s going to spill alastors secret to angel explaining why they have to betray them which will give us a similar flashback sequence to when mimzy explains alastors past except with some plot holes filled in (like how he got so powerful and where he was for 7 years). I think alastor does crave power (not necessarily against Charlie) but he just wants to be properly respected like he was before. Vox going against him and Carmella not really caring about his whereabouts made him feel weak (even if he isn’t) and the fact that he was unable to defeat Adam Didn’t help w that feeling. That’s where the line I’m the finale “guess who will be pulling all the strings” comes from because he believes his deal is restricting his power, which may or may not be true. I also predict that the line “great alastor altruist died for his friends” refers to the fact he can’t believe he is starting to care about the people he was meant to destroy, but it also refers to the fact that he doesn’t want people to perceive him as someone who WOULD die for his friends because in his mind caring for others makes you seem weak. I think that in his life, before he was a serial killer (ITS CANNON NO ONE COME FOR ME) he was betrayed again and again by people he trusted making him an “altruist”. So tee hee yeah those r my theories

Okay, so last week my sleep schedule was beyond fucked up and I had a friend staying with me so I didn’t get to watch the new CM until WAY too late and my reactions were barely existent and I almost fell asleep before it ended cause it was almost 6am by then. Hi! Hello! Oh my god thank you so much <3! I dunno why the engagement isn't as large as I thought it would be. Some of the ones I wrote I was like "This is going to feed the girlies, gonna do those bigboy numbers," and they sure did not. Don’t get me wrong I am ecstatic any time anyone likes or reblogs anything of mine, because to me they liked it so much they wanted to share it with their friends, and that makes me so happy. I know everyone says write for yourself, and I do for the most part, but I also like seeing that other people like it too, I want to yap and scream and yell about what's happening, what people liked, what they want more of.  I do have a few theories on why, the main one is I am just a relatively new writer in the fandom scene (Like I think I released the first chapter of Surrender Your Mind in April or May, and up until very recently (the beginning of October) I have been focused on one main pairing, which was Missy x Reader, and from what I gather that’s not as big as Master x Reader, or Doctor x Reader, or canon pairings, and that’s okay. I actually was joking with my roommate who is a big Doctor Who fan, that I didn’t want to write strictly Missy x Reader for Kinktober, and wouldn’t it be funny if since I’ve been writing for the Master wouldn’t it be a fun little thing to write The Doctor too? He is the one that suggested River x Doctor and my little gremlin brain was like “But also Thoschei”  Turns out The 10/14 ones are the ones who have been doing the numbers, and even got me shouted out on a rec blog which was so thrilling for me. It's so wild to me in the best possible way, I love that everyone likes them so much! The actual thrill I get when I wake up to 10+ notes is so good, it starts my mornings right. It makes me do a little happy dance, I love comments too, at the beginning I wasn’t good at replying because I didn’t know fanfiction etiquette, still not sure about it, but I’ve started to talk back! I forget sometimes because I have a wild sleep schedule, and will wake up for like ten minutes, see I have notifications, and be like “Aw fuck yeah, I’ll reply later.” Spoiler alert I have ADHD so I know I mean well by saying that, but my brain says ‘out of sight out of mind’ and I am very sorry about that in general.  For Kinktober I also branched out to do some other canon characters, the Kate girlies showed up, and The Master (Simm & Dhawan!Master) lovers showed up and I love that so much! I’ve also been getting engagement with requests, which makes me so happy that people like my writing so much that they trust me with their ideas and concepts, to see my take on it.  I think doing kinktober, while it has been stressful because oh boy I was not actually ready to take on such a challenge, it’s been so good because I’ve had a lot of growth, found some new characters I really like, and have garnered a bigger reach, which means more people will get to see what wild things I write, and I can share more with people. Which at the end of the day, it’s just me, my laptop, my stories, and everyone who reads them. I want to continue sharing, and I will. I’m going to end up bleeding over some because trying to sit down and write is so hard for me sometimes. I will finish the majority of the ‘update’ list, the two trick-or-treat ones, and then all the requests I have (Shameless plug, they are still open, but I’m only going to take about 2 more), and then take a short break. I still have a Missy x Master x Reader one that I have been trying to write since last month. Surrender Your Mind is going to be 3 more chapters, so it’s 6 chapters altogether, but I want to go back and now that I’ve found my ground, I want to edit and redo some things.  But yeah, sorry for derailing there, I had a lot to say apparently. Want it noted this is also a criticism I have of the Chex stuff in restoration.

But in all seriousness I’m way more open to this as a possibility of what happens next than I am Restoration. This is just glorified fanfiction and like it’s fun! I have fun watching it! I’ve got my complaints but still at least it gets that these characters care about each other. It may not have the strongest writing but it’s not terrible and you’ll catch me rewatching it and enjoying it from time to time.

… do I have to watch s16- can’t I just skip it? Please no amount of Restoration sucking is going to make me like that season. I might just skip it and if I’m ever feeling more up to it I’ll circle back around to it. In all honesty I think 16 and Restoration are on the same level for me. Bad seasons that I mostly ignore but I will on very rare occasions rewatch them if not just to bitch and complain. I do think Restoration is a little better than 16 but still easily in the top 3 worst seasons of RvB.

Everyone’s been making a theory if Nacha and Francis were divorced or Nacha cheated on her husband by having a fling with Francis once. But what about Anastacha? How does she feel about this? Since she only lives with her mother, does she know her parents are divorced? Does she know Francis is her dad? Maybe Nacha kept her history with Francis a secret from her? I think Anastacha knew she didn’t have a regular family like the kids in her other school. That’s why she keeps to herself and has an indifferent attitude all the time. Maybe she’s been teased for being an affair baby and for not having a father? That might’ve started a rebellious streak in her.

I'm pretty sure if their backstory is ever revealed, its that they're divorced, but personally for me I like the second option better (in my headcanon, Nacha slept with Francis because her own husband was a cheater and then ran away after she had Anastacha). But from what I've seen most people agree with the divorced route.

Anyways, on to our favorite moody preteen girl- if we go with the divorced route, depending on when Francis and Nacha got divorced, I think she'd know if its happened recently. By no means do I know what a kid from a divorced couple would feel like, but it def would upset her seeing her parents split up and living separately from them. Her living with Nacha implies she prefers her mom, which makes me very curious about her relationship with her dad. Is it good? Is it bad? Distant? (I do find it interesting that, if divorce canon, Francis is still living in the same apartment as his ex-wife. Is it to still take care of Anastacha or is it cuz theres not much option? Hm)

IF we go with the second option where its a fling, I think Anastacha must have had a very difficult time growing up. People are assholes, and a single mom raising her daughter with no husband in sight would def make people talk and say shit. I think Anastacha must have had a lot of resentment growing up knowing that people think so low of her and her mom. I imagine her also resenting whoever the heck her dad is for not staying and slightly resent Nacha for never telling her who he is, but she loves her mom too much to really be mad at her.

And yes you're spot on Anon- I definitely think Anastacha was teased a lot by other kids for her lack of a dad, which is why she keeps to herself and doesn't have a lot of friends. She closes herself off from other people and prefer to be alone and teased. Definitely had been in some fights too.

Continuing the second option of an affair- I imagine that, if Nacha and Francis met some time after Anastacha grew up, Nacha would come clean about the affair and how Francis is Anastacha's dad which would come as a huge shock for everyone. Its not an easy situation to deal with, but I think eventually things work out. After the reveal I feel like Francis would be more involved with their lives and tries to help in raising his secret daughter. Anastacha doesn't immediately consider Francis as her dad and keeps a barrier between her and Francis, which is fine and no ones forcing her. But I think they'd be comfortable which each other even if its not a 'normal' family.

(Nacha doesn't immediately confess obviously, but she and Francis clearly still remember each other and Francis and Anastacha share some obvious similarities and yeah its not hard to put two and two together)

(off topic but I imagine other kids in her school make a lot of jokes about Anastacha being 'the milkman's daughter' and Ana's like '(looks at Francis) this guy? yeah right as if my mom would go for him ever' and then whoops reveal)

(also another off topic is that Anastacha likes the neighbors in the apartment unlike the other neighbors in her old home she grew up in. No one judges her or her mom about their 'unusual' family and treats them nicely and thats a massive improvement)
