I’ve seen some people getting mad at Via for being angry and hurt by her dad. I need to remind you that Via doesn’t have the knowledge we do because we are the audience.

So from her perspective

- she knows her parents were in an arranged marriage but that’s okay because at least they love her and are there for her

- her father is pulling away, he’s fighting more and more with her mom. Neither of them care about her as much as they care about arguing with each other. But that’s okay. Her father promised he’d always be there for her.

- her father cheated. Her father cheated with a male imp and is now divorcing her mother. The fighting is worse. They only acknowledge via as a pawn to hurt the others feelings. She becomes a stranger to her own parents and a ghost in her own home.

- her father is happier with the imp. Does that mean he wasn’t happy before? Was she not able to make him happy? Was she not enough? But it’s okay because he’s trying to connect with her. He only knows the child version of her and keeps pulling away to pay attention to the home wrecker but at least he’s trying.

- Her father gets nearly killed and all he does is mope because his affair partner doesn’t seem to care. What about via? What about how scared she is realizing her parents aren’t as immortal as she thought. She’s losing her father emotionally and now she may lose him physically

- he doesn’t leave the room. He cries and mopes while watching rom coms and soap operas and devouring gallons of ice cream. She doesn’t remember the last time they spoke

- he’s on tv. Admitting to crimes that would have his head if he wasn’t a prince. Instead he is stripped of his powers and title and banished from their home for 100 years. He chose this. He chose the imp. Via is alone. He had a choice and he chose someone else.

- it takes him nearly a day to try and call her. She’s an afterthought even now.

[arcane s2 spoilers] a note to people who think Vi shouldn't have become an enforcer

its so interesting how many people are staunchly in the camp of "vi betrayed zaun", when really, since season 1, she has been the central character who stands squarely in the middle of, or even outside, this conflict.

when silco took over zaun, that immediately put a target on vi's back. enforcers killed her parents, but zaunites killed her adoptive family (jinx and silco). if anything, zaun betrayed vi. the only remaining connections she has there are ekko, and like vi, they're a group who is hunted by the main rulers of zaun, so they also don't fit neatly into this fight (and now ekko is working with Jayce and Heimerdinger, both members of piltover)

and as far as jinx is concerned- she effectively views jinx as the one who killed powder, and vi completely blames herself for that transformation. for abandoning powder to silco, to failing to save her in the finale, and being unable to stop her from destroying the peace plan between the two cities- vi puts all the blame on herself. to her, jinx is absolutely in the wrong for aiding silco and killing half the council, and the only way to bring justice is with jinxs death. and unfortunately, vi knows that now in a world with shimmer, chemtech, and hex weapons, she has absolutely no hope of doing that unless she becomes an enforcer (seeing as there's no way for her to get the atlas gauntlets otherwise).

despite all that, vi DOES resist initially, very staunchly. she gets openly upset at caitlyn and drinks her frustrations away for what looks like at least a day straight. i have to imagine that whole time she's trying to think of another way to stop jinx, but we know thinking up plans isn't her strong suit... maddie showing up is the first motivator, but the massacre at the memorial is what really pushes her over the edge. in that first moment before the attack starts, vi is stopped from helping by enforcers because she isn't one. and now she sees a whole war is about to start, she probably figures she has a better chance of minimizing damage by teaming with cait to steer the enforcers, than go back to zaun where she is completely powerless and in danger. despite all that, vi OBVIOUSLY ISN'T HAPPY to be siding with enforcers. she looks insanely depressed!!! but it's the only way she knows how to fix this mess of a situation she blames herself for.

anyways, i get why it's a frustrating development, but the ENTIRE POINT of arcane is that things are not black/white good/bad and the fact that so many people don't pick up on it is... disheartening

Didn't they only kiss one more time after their first kiss? The one at the hospital, right? He's clearly uncomfortable, and he's not nearly a good enough actor to fake it. His cult basically pretends that the interview doesn't exist and it's hilarious because he made a point of making sure he said it.

They kissed twice and haven't touched with intent since then. Even the shoulder bumping at the birthday party feels awkward and they seem convinced they are getting some heavy making out/sex scene. I'd be surprised if they kissed again before they break up with how awkward things look. And it's weird when you think about everything around this. Someone paid Lou for him to talk about if the "moan" during the hospital kiss was scripted and the guy rambled and rambled about acting before saying it was because of physics. Someone else asked what bt does when they're alone and the best he could come up with was activities. That man is uncomfortable and no one there is gonna push the dudes boundaries when the goal is clearly to break them up.

BUT I dont excuse her actions. No matter her past or her motivations, or whats between her legs, I think what she does is not okay.

I'm surprised no one has talked about Dexter's dad. I've seen one pretty good chapter of a fic about it and that's it. Like, wtf is he, is it a milk situation or is he just dead. Did Dexter get his ASPD from him (either as a trauma response or as genes)? Or was he as old as Michelle and just passed normally (which led to Dex visiting his mom every day because she's alone now)

Just watched the Ahsoka trailer and I'm very nervous for Thrawn’s character. Disney is very bad about making characters Good or Evil, when many of them are super complex.

Thrawn is a guy who did what he had to do to protect his people. He was trying to amass a following to take to the Chiss to help in a war they were struggling to win. He let himself be exiled for that. But because he worked for the Empire and made some overtly bad decisions in Rebels (never in the books, he was pissed when Pryce murdered a bunch of innocent civilians) they're going to turn him into an evil monster that Must Be Defeated.

Nevermind the fact that Ezra literally murdered everyone in Thrawn's entire fleet by space-whaling them.
