I know the show is like, way more serious on this matter, but when it comes to the books, I love how casual the whole politics area is

Shadowhunters? The Consul is like *the* most important person in the wholeass world and they’re elected on a random afternoon with candidates who were nominated like two minutes ago. Before that, Jia kept trying to make Alec Head of any institute like she was assigning chores in a house or something. (“Alec, you should wash the dishes you’re GOOD AT WASHING DISHES” “I DON’T WANT TO JUST WASH THE DISHES LET ME DEEP CLEAN THE WHOLE FUCKING HOUSE!!”).

And yeah sure the Consul has a fancy house in Idris and all but they can just choose to live anywhere they fancy to. Imagine the US President living in an apartment in New York and just showing up at the White House whenever he needs to do work. Alec and Charlotte on the other hand can like, do exactly that. (Tho tbh Alec doesn’t have much of a choice, and even when he does he’ll choose to live in NY anyways)

Warlocks? Literally any random Warlock can call himself the High Warlock of anything and everyone else will just be like “*shrugs* Yeah sure”. Magnus literally switches places with Catarina for the Warlock member of the council as if it’s a random corporate brunch event all like “Cat I can’t be there my ex is gonna show up” and then again all like “Actually nvm I kind of want to see my ex Cat, Imma go”

And yeahhhh sure they have the Spiral Labyrinth Council but since literally every warlock is the personification of “fuck you I do what I want” it doesn’t help much anyways.

Werewolves and Vampires are a wee bit better when it comes to leadership but their literal only rule for someone becoming a leader is “you have to kill the previous leader”. And that is how a 16 year old girl became the head of a werewolf pack and a literal 12 year old became the leader of the NY Vampire clan.

Faeries are like, the only group in this world with a proper political structure, kinda ironic since they’re known to be the most chaotic creatures.

So, for those of you who don't know, Charlotte is my (current) favourite character. She's been one of my favourites since I started the series, but now she's in the top spot. Which means it's her turn to get put through torment in fic. Hey, that's just the price you pay for being the favourite.

Anyway, as those of you who are familiar with my writing probably know, I like pulling characters apart and figuring out what makes them tick so I can depict them falling apart in a more believeable way. For some characters it's fairly easy to figure out what the core of their motivation is (Asta wants to be acknowledged as worth something even though he lacks magic) others it's far harder (I still don't know what the fuck motivates Yami). I thought Charlotte would be a tricky one, until I was rereading the manga and came across this panel. (specifically the middle one)

She's just been cursed. We don't exactly how old she is in this scene (I tend to put her at twelve, for a couple of reasons, but that doesn't change the fact that canon hasn't actually given us an answer), or even why she's been cursed, but the fact remains that she has just been cursed. And yet she is the one reassuring her parents. She is telling them not to worry. She's the one telling them that she'll fix this. And she's just a kid! She is canonically just a kid!

This is the start of Charlotte shouldering every burden she comes across. She has to do everything herself and if she can't she's not good enough (I know it's anime-only but her "I should be executed" line over being possessed against her will raises a lot of red flags for me). She also holds everyone else to these impossible standards, rejecting every suitor she meets immediately. If they can't keep up, they aren't good enough, and nobody can keep up. She's pushing herself harder and harder and harder because if she doesn't, if she doesn't give everything she has to break this curse then she definitely won't, and the curse activating its going to be her fault for not trying hard enough. She canonically calls herself pathetic and apologises when it inevitably activates. She sees this as a personal failing.

Never mind the fact that she is, at most, twelve years old when cursed. Which means that she's lived a minimum of six years with it hanging over her head. Sure, she keeps saying she's going to break it, but there has to be a part of her who is convinced that, when she turns eighteen, she's basically going to die.

On top of that, the fact that she's cursed is caonically common knowledge. We get all the townspeople outside screaming about it. This implies that a lot of people know she's cursed. Know she's different. And, well, you're here on Tumblr. I'm sure you know what happens to people who are different. They get socially isolated. That would explain her trouble talking to people about her feelings. And her issues with expressing herself.

So, we've got this girl, who is no more than twelve, is suddenly being shunned by all her peers for something she can't control, has decided to shoulder the entire burden of this curse (everyone else we see talking about it in the flashback says "curse on House Roselei" or something to that effect, Charlotte says "my curse"), keeps pushing herself to try and do what, as far as we can tell from canon, is impossible, and is convinced that if she can't pull off the impossible she's going to basically die on her eigthteenth birthday.

Oh, and all of this is happening around the age she's supposed to be figuring herself out.

The fact that she is a fully functioning adult is a goddamn miracle.

Looping back to my original point though, I think that, at the core of her character, Charlotte is someone who wants to believe that she's worth saving. And not because of her power, or her family name, or her looks. She's desperate for someone to look and see her and see someone worth saving. But she's bad at expressing herself and also scared that if she lets anyone in close they're just going to let her down like everyone else she thought would save her when she was cursed did, so she snaps and she snarls and she drives people away because if people are going to leave anyway (because of the curse) then it's easier to drive them off first, because at least that way she can pretend it's what she wanted rather than being abandoned again.

Since the day he found out you were pregnant, he did most the house work and stopped going to the studio that often to stay with you 

He would always comfort you, only if you wanted him though. if you had pain he would rub your huge belly. or if you were tired he would bring you snacks in bed and you two would watch netflix.

you made a cute pink list of things you should pack for going to the hospital for labour, and he would stare at it and smile, you decorated the list with coquette ribbons and stuff so it was intresting for him.

he was extremly gentle with you since he knew about the hormone thing during so he said yes to everything you said so there wouldnt be any arguments and you would be completly relaxed and not stressed at ALL

Whenever you were holding charlotte he would hug you from the back and then put his head on your neck and look at Charlotte and he would hold you from your waist.

You two argued even less since charlotte came to the world, he’s a dad, a man, so he’s very understanding 

Sometimes you two want some time together, and privacy, so your grandparents take care of charlotte. and you two…ykyk

He was definitely a girl dad, one day you came back from the cafe with your friends and charlotte was putting on makeup for Marshall. When you saw that they both laughed and so did you.

One day when charlotte was 5 years old. She came home after school  and came to talk to you. She said she liked a boy and your heart melted. It was so adorable and then when Marshall came back home, she told him and he said “aww charlotte has a crush!” And then hugged her

When charlotte was 12 she was in her room, and she called you from her bathroom saying “mom there’s blood on my panties, I think i just got my first period” you rushed there to help her and teached her how to put on a pad and gave her a hug and warm tea. Marshall came home and when he found out she had her first period he said how proud of her he is, and gave her a big hug. You also celebrated it with her close friends and family. 

A random Friday she came home crying. You tried to calm her down but it didn’t work, you asked her what’s wrong and she said “I fell in love mom” you thought about it for a second, it took you back to the first time you met Marshall, you fell In love… then you gave her a huge hug and gave her some advice and you both had some delusional talk saying “he looked at me for a second I think he loves me” type of stuff then laughed and then suddenly Marshall walks in and says “what you ladies talking about?” And you say “charlottes in love, just like the time I first met you” he comes to sit next to you guys on the bed and hugged charlotte. He said “ it’s normal okay baby? I fell for your mom too, hard!” You all laughed ALOT and you two (you and Marshall) made eye contact and then you covered charlottes eyes and kissed for like 3 seconds. You always covered charlottes eyes even though she knew what you two were doing.

The night that charlotte said she was in love and you made eye contact with Marshall, you two went to bed and then you suddenly felt him wrapping his hands around your waist, tickling your stomach a bit… but then you both fell asleep (nothing happened)

The next morning, your mom is there to kinda babysit charlotte and you go upstairs to shower, you get in the tub and then hear someone outside the bathroom, it was Marshall. He comes in and looks at you and says: “I missed you, i thought we could do the things we did in the past” you interrupt him and say “same” you jump hug him and then go back in the tub and he joins you. He cuddles you and kisses you (like the start of the relationship). After you’re done showering you get out and give him a towel and start blow drying your hair, and he comes behind you and kisses your forehead. A few hours later you tell him “I don’t know why but I miss you” he doesn’t say anything and  hugs you tight.

At night, (you two slept together in the same bed obviously) he cuddled you form the back and hold you tight holding you by your waist. Then you a sudden urge to turn back to face him and kiss him. It caught him off guard but he didn’t pull away instead he was really in to it.

Him and Charlotte had an amazing father daughter relationship, tad a similar personality so they understood each other really well.

BACKGROUND:

enter: celeste, first born of the james family. her mother likes to tease that she was born to be an older sister. in fact, she'd rub her mom's pregnant belly and say, "my baby, my baby." it's safe to say that her childhood was largely focused on playing with her sister, doing any silly thing she could to make her laugh, and getting into as much trouble as you'd expect of two girls under five. when their family packed up and moved to palmview, celeste made it her personal mission to show charlotte that moving was no big deal. so what, they'd packed up their whole lives and moved across the country? that just meant they'd have new adventures to go on, and it wasn't like they wouldn't go back to visit. this mindset stuck with her throughout her life, choosing to see the cup half full even when logic told her otherwise.

her teen years were as chaotic as you'd expect, celeste taking full advantage of her short summers in cape cod. parties, boys, sneaking out, boys, nights on the beach, boys. rinse and repeat. during this time she swore she was just making the most of her teenage years, but her parents would say they let her watch way too much sex and the city. this would become exaggerated one summer when celeste got the bright idea to take her dads boat out at night, all in efforts to impress a boy. she'd been sailing with her dad since she was a kid, what could go wrong, right? wrong. she hadn't accounted for the coast guard, who luckily let her off with a warning, ( and a call to her parents. ) for the rest of the summer, they cut her off entirely, forcing her into her first summer job.

this is where she met her first true best friend, who was able to speak some knowledge into that delusional head of celeste's. instead of pouring all that energy into boys, she was encouraged to take her ambition and ideas and put them into making videos. her friend was convinced she had what it took to make it big. following this advice was the best thing for her, although, her bad habits hadn't left entirely. after graduation, and throughout college, celeste was known to party on the weekends and seen with a new beau in what seemed like every other new vlog. it's not her fault she's a lover girl, right? at least, that's what she tells herself.

tldr; celeste is a silly goofy girl that hasn't quite grown out of her boy obsessed phase. her friends encourage her to put that ambition into something creative, and she does, but that only keeps her delusion at bay for so long. will she overcome the boy fever? will she ever not be a sleazebag wrapped in a pretty package? stay tuned and find out!

I wanna say thank you for knocking some sense into me. I've been struggling with the after affects of a toxic friend group that consisted of 7 girls who all were proclaimed 'nymphets' after a while they roped me in their mindset and it kinda went downhill from there. I never wanted to turn out like this and what you said really kinda opened my eyes to the really morbid and disgusting reality that is this 'nymphet' community. Did Saito abuse Ferid?

An 'analysis' of their past together

The thing which made me wonder about the first question was this panel:

First of all, manipulation is also an abuse tactic, therefore Rigr surely abused Ferid in this manner. Though, I'm keen on looking at deeper stuff here regarding abuse.

Ferid likes to joke around and amuse himself by making people shocked from his eccentric words and behavior, but sometimes his jokes mean something deeper.

If you don't know what a Lolita complex is, here is an explanation:

Lolita complex is the sexual attraction towards young or pubescent girls. This term is based on “Lolita”, the book of Vladimir Nabokov; the story centers on a middle-aged man who became obsessed with his 12-year-old daughter.

For better reference, this is a more detailed summary of the novel:

Humbert is the narrator of the story. He explains his fascination and admiration towards “nymphets” which are (realistically speaking, leaving his delusions behind) simple young girls between the ages of 9-14 which are the only females he can be attracted to. He stays in the house of Charlotte haze and there he meets her daughter, Dolores Haze. (Lolita, as he nicknames her) He's obsessed with her enough to get married to her mother just to get access to Lolita. Eventually, Lolita's mother dies and therefore she becomes Humbert's step-daughter. Throughout the book, Dolores is exposed to manipulation, sexual abuse (which sadly, yes, it occurs with Humbert), physical abuse and verbal abuse. In the end, Dolores runs away from him later, meeting Humbert again when she's 17 and pregnant while she asks him for money. I won't give more spoilers from here, in case someone wants to read it.

I've also analyzed Dolores and Humbert and somehow, Lolita's story slightly reasonates with Ferid and Humbert is similar to Saito.

There's no actual proof that Rigr sexually abused Ferid, though there might be a chance that Rigr physically abused him. Violence, especially physical punishments for children, was very common and normal in the medieval times. I'm sure that Ferid was exposed to enough violence and torture in the times when he was a prince and that his parents gave him punishments for his eccentric behavior.

There's a chance that Rigr physically punished him,

Lolita was never shown what love properly feels like. Her father died when she was a kid, her mother loved her but didn't know how to properly show her that and then the only father figure she had showed her that she's only something to be desired, not loved or cared for.

Ferid was also never shown love. His parents who were royal were more preoccupied to fulfill royal duties and to teach Ferid on how to become a saint. His brother, instead of caring for his little brother who was having depressive thoughts, cared more about making him only a political pawn. Rigr most likely also took a 'liking' to Ferid since they met when he was a depressed sixteen/seventeen year old, thus he was easier to manipulate. When Ferid was older and more mature, Rigr discarded him like he was nothing. Same as how Humbert started to be more violent and find Lolita uglier as the time passed by and she grew older.

Ferid left his Hungarian kingdom when he was 16 and killed his brother and since Rigr was also leaving Wallachia (Romania) during that time, it's a possibility that they met while Ferid was heading towards the south. There's also a theory that Rigr may be Ferid's actual father, since Rigr implanted his dna in the Bathory family and also the Ichinose family. Ferid was always saying that Rigr is his father, yet Crowley never said that Ferid was his father nor the other progenitors said that the first was their father. Ferid wasn't even joking when he was calling Rigr his father, since even in the light novels he was calling him a dad and being serious, with no jokes going around.

Here, as you can see Ferid's vulnerability when Rigr pats his head, he immediately leaves. Perhaps Rigr did that gesture often when he was manipulating Ferid and that's why I assume that it bothered him so much. Rigr was obviously trying to upset him here, he knows best about his weaknesses

In conclusion, it's a possibility that Ferid's joke was corresponding with his situation, that's why he was mentioning it. Usually when he makes jokes they seem to be out of context and extremely odd but most of the time they aren't actually out of context.

Charlotte "Charlie" Morningstar redesign

Charlotte Morningstar was the first ‘Alive’ child of Lilith and Lucifer Morningstar born in 1830. It has been like the for the next 170 years until charlie had soon learned about the the exterminations one day as she home in pride; she saw plenty of scary looking angels coming down from the sky and kill the sinners; she was shocked and confronted her parents on this and there was a nasty spat between them it ended with charlie crying in her room accompanying her was her fathers assistant snake Milu.

For the next 19 years she has been trying to avoid her parents so much the only one who she could tolerate was her Mother Lilith but that had a limit around 2017 her mother left, she didn't know if it was a divorce, a separation or anything else but she was gone. Only now it was Lucifer, Charlie and Milu.

And in that 19 years charlie has been hatching a plan to research about the sinners, she believes that none of them deserve the second death and that they should be given a second chance; so she studies, research and plan to make a place to help rehabilitate these people. Five years ago she decided to leave the mansion after a rather intense argument with only three bags worth of items and a few million hellbucks shes been saving up to leave, and one angel demon she decided to leave her mansion and move into a deserted hotel. With her and Aggie she decided to make this hotel into a rehabilitation center to help sinner who want to become better people, with her first guest the Pornstar Angeldust and a benefactor being the Radio demon she ready for the future.(Slightly vague but their will be more details in the future so dont worry)

Changes in her designs:

-I do enjoy Charlies OG Design a lot , but some faults i think the og has is that the suit should have been a different color then the red she wears mainly due to that color being in nearly every single design for the characters she should at least stand out with a different colored suit like gold.

-she has Pink hair in this version because its meant to be a mix of her dads (light blonde) and her mothers (Pink red), and her hair resembles a mix of Rapunzel from tangled and Fiona from Shrek.

-I gave her a golden suit rather then a red one to stand out amongst her sinners to show that she's different from them.

-And I gave her a skirt instead of pants cause all the girl bosses need one

-while she doesn't have hooves I made her boots hooves inspired.

-Horns because she using 10 percent of her own power

-Gloves for professional-ism

-She has fangs and pointy ears to show more of her demon form(Also no cheek-marks cause I didn't like them)

10 Facts:

-Her birth year is a reference to her first ever beta design dying around 1830s and in the time of writing this she's currently 194 years old.

-She still Bisexual even in this AU/rewrite and we will mention some of her past lovers in this au :3

-She's currently using 10 percent of her own demonic power in her current design meant to show that she wants to be shown as professional and make sure that she has enough power to protect herself and the hotel if something goes awry.

-She's been studying psychology in the past 10 years to try to understand the sinners so that she can use the knowledge that she can to help the sinners and understand their issues but she still has that rather naive/parental thing to her while she does try to be kind and caring it almost comes off as condescending to the other guests

-Went to her education for the most part in a elite private school for higher up demons in the envy ring for k-12.

-After she had left home the only things she took where three bags worth of her items and about 2.5 million hell-bucks and decided to that she would want to try do things on her own.

-her relationship with her parents is a complex situation, she adores her mothers and her relationship with her father is rather rocky and complicated, due to an event when she was little she wanted to stay away from her father and after 10 ish years she slowly wanted to reconnect with him, and as they were slowly working on it she found out about the exterminations which made their relatiosnhip even harder and then their was the fight that made her leave.

-Her favorite foods include: Frappuccino's, Hells deep dish-Pizza, strawberry shortcake, and Pink Lemonade Alcohol.

-She's 6'0 (182.88 cm)

11:24am - Charlotte

Stop, Charlotte. It’s not personal. Emmett's voice has been ringing in my head since our conversation earlier. Charlotte. I hate it when he calls me that. I hear it at least fifteen times a day, but never from him. Charlotte. I can’t remember the last time he said it. With everything going on right now, it feels stupid to be bothered by this. 

Liam and I are supposed to leave soon, I’m not sure why he’s not downstairs yet. Out of all of my kids, he’s the one who is always on time. Maybe I should go check on him. Take a step back, Charlotte. There’s Emmett’s voice again. I’ll give him ten minutes. 

My phone vibrates on the table and I see a text from Beth. Does Tuesday at 12 work for you? I immediately respond yes and apologize again for texting her on a weekend. There’s a sinking feeling in my chest. I’m anxious about starting therapy again. I saw Beth for two years after the twins were born, and again when I quit working to open the store. It’s been a few years since then. She’s good. She knows me. She’ll be able to help me through this. I sigh. That doesn’t make it any easier. 

“Is that my old dress?” Georgia. She sounds like she’s in a better mood.

“Probably,” my younger daughter responds. I hear both of them start to make their way down the stairs. The girls are ready but Liam isn’t? That’s odd. They’re not leaving for at least another hour.

“How many of my old things do you have?”

“I don’t know. A lot.” True. I’d say more than half of her closet used to be Georgia’s. Whenever I offer to buy her new things, she usually turns me down. She prefers the hand-me-downs. It’s sweet. Lucy is her sister’s biggest fan, though I don’t think she’d ever say it out loud. She prefers to tease her instead.

They’re both at the bottom of the stairs now. Georgia pats her sister’s head. “How do the braids feel?” she asks. Neither one of them notice me sitting here.

“Good. Not as good as Mom, but good.” She grins. Lucy is always particular about her hair. A few months ago, all she wanted were pigtails. Now, she’s switched to braids. I wonder what her next thing will be.

Lucy turns and sees me right away. “Oh, hey Mom!” she greets, skipping towards me.

“Hi, love, I like your braids,” I say. I glance up at Georgia, she’s not looking at either one of us. I won’t comment on it.

“Georgia did them!” She sounds proud. I feel myself start to smile. I don’t think Georgia realizes how much Lucy adores her.

“Nice work.” I look over at Georgia again, she’s still looking away.

“Thanks,” she says flatly. Her gaze doesn’t change. At least she doesn’t seem to be upset with Lucy. Only me.

It’s not personal, Charlotte. 

“Why are you guys being weird?” Lucy looks at me, and then at Georgia. I don’t have an answer to this question. Not a good one, at least.

“We’re not,” Georgia answers for me. Lucy looks unamused, clearly not satisfied by that answer.

“Yes you are, you guys are being so weird.” Lucy has never been good at backing down. I need to stop this before it turns into something bigger.

“Lucy, enough,” I say sharply.

“But—”

“Enough.” She doesn’t say anything after that. I’ll have to have some sort of talk with her later. I know she’ll ask again if I don’t.

I stand up, eye level with Georgia. She’s staring at me now. She looks distant. And sad. It breaks my heart. I’d give anything to take her in my arms, but I’m not sure it would solve anything at the moment. 

She’s not you, Charlotte. 

Right. She needs space. I have to let her figure it out, no matter how much it tears at me. I’m here. She knows it. Hopefully that’s enough for now.

A happier life for Henry VIII's children. Part: 1.

Mary was the first surviving child of King Henry VIII of England from his first marriage to the Spanish princess Catherine of Aragon. The princess knew that she was not her parents' only child - all of her siblings died shortly after birth. The birth of a living and healthy child was a great happiness for King Henry and Queen Catherine, even though the child was a girl. That is why she became the king's favorite daughter. When she was 12 years old, her father decided to divorce her mother. Catherine did not resist the king's decision for a long time, but accepted the inevitable and agreed to the divorce with favorable terms. For this, the king, as promised, retained for Mary the status of princess and allowed the former spouse to communicate with his daughter. After the divorce for Mary little changed, she continued to grow up in the love of her father and mother, often visited both parents. The princess did not like her father's second wife, but did not show it. Anne Boleyn did not meet Henry's expectations, so he sent her to a convent under strict supervision. The king also wanted to declare Princess Elizabeth illegitimate, but Mary stood up for her sister and convinced her father not to do so. Charles of France(1546 - 1620). Duke of Angoulême. Because of his dissolute lifestyle he had conflicts with his mother. He married his cousin Jane, daughter of King Edward VI of England. The married life of Charles and Jane was not happy, because of his constant cheating. The marriage produced 4 children: Gedeon, Charlotte, Michelle and Cesar.

While in France, she did not forget about her family and maintained a close correspondence not only with her parents, but also with her second stepmother, because of the warm and close relationship between them. Before leaving, Mary and Jane had great difficulty convincing the king to bring Elizabeth to the palace so that she would not feel lonely. Henry initially had no paternal feelings for his second daughter, but was later able to develop a warmth for the girl. In 1540, Dauphine learned that her mother had died. She could not come to her funeral, as she was pregnant with her second child, but due to severe stress she had a miscarriage. Because of these events, the princess fell into depression, she did not leave her chambers and hardly ate anything. Her husband was with her all this time and provided as much support as possible, but when he realized that he could not cope, he invited Jane to help. She couldn't stay away and convinced Henry to let her go to Mary. After a few months, Mary recovered and all three returned to England. The king greeted his wife, daughter and son-in-law warmly. And the princess was finally able to honor her mother. She also spent time with her brother and sister because she missed them during the 6 years of absence. When Mary returned to France, she was already pregnant with her third child, and nine months later she gave birth to twins. Five years passed.During this time, Mary and Henry became king and queen of France and had two more children. They successfully ruled the kingdom. Shortly before his death, Henry 8 appointed his eldest daughter as regent under his young son. The queen excelled in her duties as regent and pursued a mild policy toward her subjects. When she realized that Edward was already capable of ruling on his own, she placed the power in his hands and returned to France. In 1559, King Henry of France fell from his horse while hunting and died. Mary mourned the death of her beloved husband for a long time and wore mourning for him for the rest of her life. She warmly remembered the 22 happy years they gave to each other and loved to tell her grandchildren about it. Mary often came to visit her brother, and the two developed a warm relationship. The dowager queen of France died in 1580. She was buried next to her husband Henry II in the Abbey of Saint-Denis.

Harjit Kaur had so much to look forward to. Thanks to her hard work, she had just gotten a new job and she and her husband Sukhjinder Singh were about to buy a new home where they would raise their children. The future looked bright.

Harjit already had a four-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son. When she found out she was pregnant with her third child, she didn’t feel ready. Harjit underwent a “consultation” where she was told surgical abortion was “very safe” and that “she would be able to go home in a couple of hours.”

First-trimester surgical abortion is not as safe as she was led to believe. The uterus, cervix, the intestines, bladder, and nearby blood vessels are at risk of being torn. Risks include hemorrhage, infection, organ perforation, embolism and death. A few of the other women and girls killed by “safe and routine” first-trimester legal abortion include Kenniah Epps, Ruth Montero, Maria Gomez, Sandra Williams, Luz Maria Rodriguez, Elise Kalat, 17-year-old Chivon Williams, Erika Charlotte Wullschleger, Tia Archeiva Parks, 19-year-old Lisa Marie Hoefener, Pamela Colson, Maria Leho, Jennifer Hallner, Louchrisser Jackson, Regina Johnson, “Audrey Roe,” “Betty Roe,” “Dawn Roe,” “Evie Roe,” “Dorothy Roe,” “Vanessa Roe,” “Saanvi Roe,” and “Roxanne Roe.”

On January 12, 2024, Harjit went to the Hampton Park Women's Health abortion facility in Melbourne. She had told this was “safe” and a “routine procedure,” and she believed it. She was headed to the operating room at 12:57, when she messaged her husband and said she would call him after the abortion. That was the last time her family ever heard from her.

Abortionist Rudolph “Rudy” Lopes called Sukhjinder later that day to tell him what happened. Moments after the abortion was over, Harjit was being moved to another room when it was discovered that her heart had stopped. An ambulance was called and CPR administered for 45 minutes. Despite all this, Lopes described the abortion as “successful.”

Sukhjinder immediately drove to the facility, but when he arrived the staff refused to let him see Harjit. He was kept out of the ward entirely. He described the horrible day to news sources later:

“Five minutes later the doctor came to me and said, "Sorry your wife is dead".

“I was dead then. My life destroyed in a second.”

Staff finally let Sukhjinder into the room where Harjit’s body lay. “I begged her to come back for our little kids,” he said.

An investigation is now underway, with police and the coroner involved in the case.

Sukhjinder is devastated and doesn’t understand how Harjit, who was perfectly healthy, was killed by something they were repeatedly told was “safe and routine.” He struggles to comprehend what his future will look like without her and has described her needless death as unacceptable.

Harjit did not have to die. It is unacceptable that she was not warned of the potential dangers of the operation that killed her. More support should also be made available for families who are unsure if they are ready to care for a new baby. Resources to help her and Sukhjinder care for the new baby or for adoption could have helped. She and her baby should both be alive. Harjit deserved better than to be collateral damage of an industry that has already killed so many.

#25 Summation, reflections and plans for 2024

Now that the calendar is over I want to wrap things up with some thoughts and facts about of what have been and what is coming.

In this calendar I've written about 24 series that have meant something to me through my life. There are other series I might actually like more than some of them today, but they've all changed how I see things or how I feel about a certain subject. I started of with M*A*S*H, which will always be my all time favourite and which came into my life early. I ended with Julie and the Phantoms, which just recently came into my life and about which I still have a lot to learn. I stream A LOT of media, and mostly series, some weeks up to 40 hours. This because I usually have something on in the background, it makes me focus even better. something I’m thinking about after I watched one too many video essays on Lolita. The fact that the “nymphette” and “Lolita” hashtags still live on after the tag was DELETED is insane to me. They’ve come up with new versions.

TRIGGER WARNING: MENTIONS OF: SEXUAL ABUSE / PEDOPHILIA / DISCUSSION OF GROOMING /EDs / ABUSE

For those of you unaware, Lolita is a book written by Vladimir Nabokov in 1955 about a man named Humbert Humbert who falls in love (is obsessed and infatuated) with a 12 year old (and his step-daughter!) Dolores Haze. He calls her a “nymphet” (later changed by tumblr/pale grunge tumblr as nymphette, much like coquette) and is obsessed with her.

Later within the book he kidnaps her and sexually abuses her shortly after becoming her stepfather to gain closeness to Dolores. He calls her “Lolita”, a Spanish nickname for Dolores.

His unusual obsession with “nymphets” is due to his childhood lover, Annabel Leigh’s, death from typhus, causing Humbert Humbert to become sexually obsessed with girls 9-14, as he dubs, “nymphets”.

He meets Dolores’ mother, a widow named Charlotte, quickly sees Lolita and decides to move in, as Dolores is a “perfect nymphet”.

. I’m not going to spoil the rest, but read the book if you can. Humbert Humbert is an unreliable narrator and a horrible person. It’s a very interesting novel.

However, due to the film adaptations (Lolita; Stanley Kubrick (1962) and Lolita; Adrian Lyne (1997)) of this book, Dolores has been aged up and made to be something of attainment within some social circles, typically by teenage girls.

Within this falls a Lana Del Rey obsession, as she frequently mentions Lolita within her songs, and having age gap relationships.

Age gap relationships are not inherently bad, date whoever you want when you are fully grown, but these girls (I will not call them women they are teenagers) romanticize these age gaps, (such as 19-25, even further in age, etc.) making it a goal.

The reason why I’m so upset by the resurgence of these hashtags, like:
