Stop saying “I don’t like Chinese/Indian/Thai… food of some other Southeast Asian country”. It makes you sound super rude and ignorant, especially because it’s pretty obvious you’ve not tried all that much of it.

Imagine if someone told you they hated pizza because they tried it once in Chicago and didn’t like it? Or someone saying they hated the entire cuisine of your home country because they tried a couple things in a couple restaurants in their country. (This is probably mostly directed at USAmericans, but idk how Europeans are with trying other cuisines not from the west).

It’s hurtful and ignorant and unnecessary and it makes you sound super dumb. Each country has literally thousands of dishes and a bunch of regional cuisines with many variations on THOSE dishes, and there’s no way you’ve tried enough of them to write off an entire cuisine.

Just say “I haven’t had much of (country’s food), only a couple things at some restaurants in (home country) that I didn’t particularly like, but I’d love to taste more stuff! Can you recommend me some dishes to try? I like (flavors/ingredients) and I dislike (flavors/ingredients).”

You can have a respectful conversation about food preferences without writing off someone’s entire cuisine.

So I got into dungeon meshi and i’ve been telling everyone who I talk to. I love everything about the world, characters, the art, etc.

BUT

People are not kidding when they say that senshi will manifest in your head to tell you to eat better. Like I have a hard time remembering to eat but my brain would be like “you haven’t eaten in some hours, you need a meal” and I would be like you’re very right internal senshi I’m gonna see what I can make. Then I make food??? Honestly Gods sent senshi for helping so many people eat better

Last night I dreamed I baked banana bread.

But not just any banana bread.

I dreamed that I made the banana bread like normal. But then!

Then I thinned some peanut butter with milk (????) and melted some chocolate and thinned that with milk, too, and then put them into separate baggies, and put those baggies into a third baggie so their corners were all aligned. I cut the overlapping corner to make a squeezy bag like for frosting where they would both come out together but not mixed, and then I dipped the tip of it into the banana bread batter and swirled peanut butter and chocolate into it.

THEN I baked it.

I explained my dream to my neighbor and she gave me bananas and told me to make my dreams come true. So. I'm gonna try it tomorrow.

personally, i only found one recipe in here to try out, but i loved the general tips on cooking to achieve particular colors, tastes, or textures. there’s worksheets for figuring out your aversions that can also be used as communication aids for nonverbal ppl.

recipes all have their colors, tastes, and textures labeled right up top, so you know if it suits your needs right away. the author is autistic and has an extremely nonjudgmental way of writing about picky eating.

I’m glad with the art and for the amount of pages I made in such a relatively short time span -w- page 5 was super fun to work on. A lot of blood, sweat, and hours here... :) The backgrounds were a big bore tbh, but I finished them! Yippie!
