Why Palpatine LOVED Anakin’s Mechanical Arm

In the novelization of ROTS Dooku said to Sidious how he was disgusted by Anakin´s mechanical arm, he was revolted at the idea of recruiting an ally who wasn´t entirely human, comparing Anakin to general Grievous. To Dooku´s surprise Sidious replied that Anakin´s mechanical arm was exactly what made him the perfect man for their plans. He saw Anakin´s arm as a permanent symbol of the sacrifices he had to make for peace and justice. That arm was a badge of heroism that Anakin had to publicy wear for the rest of his life, forcing everyone to look at him and see his honor, courage and integrity. Sidious said that Anakin was perfect just the way he was.

considering that canonically we know anakin is a robotics nerd with 1 friend (who he calls Dad by mistake at least once a week) and 0 rizz, i’m very enamoured by the fact that in any NO66 Good End AU, all of the jedi would be so confused that HE was the one with the secret wife. i have a scene in my head where a couple council members, let’s say depa and mace, are chilling gossiping and depa says “omg GUESS who’s secretly married” and mace names every single member of the order living and dead before guessing anakin

Neat how both Cody and Obi-Wan are absolute bruisers when push comes to shove. Something about being composed and professional while also having a talent for inflicting blunt force trauma. Rocking up to the Star War with nothing but your fists and winning (most of the time)

This one was for my partner! He asked this little scene from an AU we have.

Very short context for this particular scene: Anakin survives ROTJ to b come the most bonkers dad and then grandpa ever, which means the whole Sequels timeline gets a bit to the left (or more like a 180° shift), Rose builds what's basically an UFO and, accidentally, it's so dangerous and intuitive that only a force sensitive can fly it.

Luke, like usually, is pretty much amused. Poe and Ben are...confused.

I made too many jokes about Fox treating his pet tooka like a human child and now I want to give him a tabaxi child. Like the cat people from dungeons and dragons. Black cat that’s also his daughter. He also has the pet tooka, but would talk about them the same.

Anyone that doesn’t live with him thinks Fox has four kids, Jo (tabaxi), Chickenfoot (tooka), Message (mouse droid), and Grizzer (the hound he doesn’t even own). It will only get worse when he figures out how to smuggle clone cadets off Kamino. And yes, his batch is included in “everyone”.

Thinking about Kay coming for ND-5's rescue again for absolutely no reason but because I love everyone's reactions.

I love how Kay makes her priorities clear and that she came to save ND-5 while saving Asara is barely an afterthought (outch!).

ND isn't really able to show emotions on his face, but, boy, you can tell he's shooked and his processors are running hard in this moment, trying to process the fact that Kay came after him, risking it all for him!

And I just love the way Jaylen and Asara look at ND with their matching expressions saying "Wait, him??? You're here for HIM?!?" (I think that both of them are a bit smitten with Kay in the game, well everyone is smitten with her for good reasons).

This is like one of the top and iconic tropes with the hero coming to rescue of their beloved last minute and I have so many feels about this.

And don't even get me started on how Kay wears the Stormtrooper gear in this scene, making her look like a knight in shining armor, and ND, restrained by the restraining bolt, is basically the cursed/chained up damsel in distress in the clutches of the evil syndicate king.

The game really went hard with these classic romantic tales/tropes for them.

more in the vein of "corries try to make leave a pleasant time for GAR troopers and GAR troopers understand the stress they're under", i like to think of some corries being a bit mischievous and tricking them into eating something that tastes super bad or something that's meant to look like an object, like edible paper. and i also like to think of GAR troopers having a small game of seeing who can convince the most corries to join in on the fun they set up for everyone else instead of sitting by and monitoring. for example, wolffe gets fox to join him in playing some sport (that the corries found civilians playing and sorta changed it to be more fun for clones), and this causes thorn to join, so several of fox and thorn's men join, so wolffe is winning. but to him, fox having fun (safely) is sort of its own win

"Cassian's best friend is a droid" isn't meant to be the sad sentiment some of you all seem to believe it is. what's sad is that Cassian has no other attachments to anyone, he has no one besides K2, BUT there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a droid as a best friend. droids aren't inherently inferior to organics. start treating them with a little decency, please. and stop devaluing the bond between K2 and Cassian. Cassian was visibly devastated when K2 died. K2 used his last moments to envision a scenario in which Cassian survived and made it off Scarif. their friendship is just as real and beautiful as it would be if K2 was an organic.
