TIG sometimes gives off energy that almost comes off as…”afraid” to appear to Too Much or Extra. The man is just Extra by nature so I suppose it’s hard to contain himself least he scares off everyone. He really is the friendly giant!

I recognise the impulse. I don't potentially intimidate people like TIG does, but he really has an air of sometimes forgetting himself, and people react strangely to that. There's an allowed intensity of feeling and when you feel more strongly, they treat you as if you're being indecent. TIG is very poised, very measured, very aware, and that of course it a way channeling energy, but you can visibly see him letting go of that in safe activities - acting, dancing, fighting - he carries that across characters. Goodness, this is a guy who happily howls with his dogs if he gets the chance. Calvinist culture, whether European or American, loves to tell you to tone it down, because passion can only lead to sin... and TIG being so very passionate and Irish Catholic, that leads to some necessary self-policing to stay respectable and not drive people away, going by my own experience and how he carries himself. And he really seems like a very friendly man so I strongly doubt he wants to drive people away.

Today I saw a two story house with the first floor painted green and the second floor yellow, and not the prettiest shades of those colors.

It probably explains a lot about me that my mother's response to the pic of the house was "Great home, we should buy it. Love the colors."

I don't think Gen Z and younger Millennials have any concept of how controversial a figure Freddie was in his hey day (the 1980s) and how many people disliked him, both for his sexuality and for supporting Apartheid. Harry could easily be more beloved than Freddie is for his own generation.

I think there's an interesting point here. But I don't think I'm the person for it. I have so little interest in trying to imagine whether Harry will be thought of in a way that is similar to Freddie Mercury in 40 years time - that I can't engage in this thought either.

Partly as I've said, because I don't think of Freddie Mercury the way that people making these comparisons do. But also because I think it misses everything about what shapes how people are remembered. It's not what is happening now that will determine how Harry is thought of in 40 years time. But what happens in the next 40 years. Any discussion of this which doesn't include the fact that the fact Freddie is died means that he is frozen and there's no pesky actual Freddie getting in the way of 80s iconography clearly isn't based on interest in the question.
