Rock Climbing and Trekking
The earth is essentially a giant rock floating in space. Let that sink in. But this beautiful celestial body has a rich and fruitful surface full of life, water and various terrains. For the most part, these terrains are rocky and hilly. Even the cities that stand today have some or the other area within them that was once a rocky and unstable surface which needed a polish or correction to make them flat or at least inhabitable. These rocks and hills by themselves are somewhat an obstacle otherwise. The concept of a mountain itself has become a metaphor for difficulty in life. But these very challenges are seen as a growing experience. And India has no shortage of beautiful and glorious mountains, the most famous of which is the crown of India, the Himalayas. The South has its fair share of hill stations and rocky terrains with the Western and Eastern Ghats being a major tourist destination for all Indians. These destinations provide ample opportunity for trekking across high slopes in the high altitude and misty air. The feeling of having thin air go through your lungs transports you to a lighter and more carefree self.
Trekking is natural and happens between the body and mind where the body is weakened by the external forces and the mind keeps it going. But for rock climbing it is quite different. Rock climbing is an adventure sport that involves harnesses and experienced guides taking you through the process. The experience is more focused and skill based with the need for a lot of immediate body strength. Rock climbing is more of a sport than an experience unlike trekking which is a journey to conquer a challenge in front of you. But the two activities make use of the rocks around which become a fun activity for groups and individuals alike.
Man must take on every new challenge in life and make the most of every moment including getaways where we are free to be our own selves at most! Places such as Kanakapura offer many opportunities for treks and rock climbing in the most exciting setting with greens and pristine water bodies to give your eyes something to feast on. There are many adventure camps for you to enjoy activities such as trekking, rock climbing, zipline, slush games and so much more. Don't waste another day at home and conquer mother nature itself.

The Iconic Sakleshpur
In today’s world, metropolitans such as Bangalore are treated as the most special locations and people want to visit them more and more. However India’s most exotic and beautiful areas are the smaller towns spread out across the country. Where big cities have buildings and malls, smaller towns have tall trees and pristine waters. Sakleshpur is one such quaint and scenic town that is not very well known amongst urban people. It is a town in Karnataka which is quite old that has a many historical monuments nearby, lot of greenery and hills all around. It is a great location for sightseeing and photography.
The town is home to a star shaped fort called the Manjarabad Fort built by Tipu Sultan in 1792. The fort is one of the very few structures of its shape and has a rich history. This monument is a famous tourist spot. The hill station has large chunks of area where tea, coffee and spice plantations are present. There is also the very diverse Bisle Reserve Forest that has many exotic animals and birds. This makes the hill station a very versatile and fun location with different activities. Visitors can also stay in the various homestays available that are comfortable and provide many adventure sports to be enjoyed. All these benefits are hard to find in most towns but there are some Riverside Homestays in Sakleshpur which has its own charm and beauty making it an ideal location for a weekend getaway.
Spend a few days away from the city and in the natural and embracing environment of Sakleshpur.
