Caro Lucio,

come nell’incipit di una delle più belle ed eterne, canzoni tue  ti scrivo.

Sono 3667 giorni  che gli dei ti hanno  chiamato  al loro cospetto gli stessi che  domani ti festeggeranno per il tuo compleanno insieme  a tutti noi.

Manchi molto  ma per fortuna le tue canzoni  sono eterne  e indelebili come insostituibili  solchi, nella mia vita di amante della musica  e delle parole.

Le ascoltavo sparse tra le cassette audio  che collezionavo grazie a mio padre come supplemento  del weekend  con il quotidiano  l'Unita.

Dall'infanzia ad oggi quando  ritrovo i miei ricordi più  magici di sempre ci sei sempre  stato e sarai sempre tu ; in un campeggio sperduto  in Toscana sull'amaca con la salsedine  che pizzica, mentre da bimba sdraiata sul parquet del salotto  coloro la carta  da pacchi bianca e sono felice.

E poi c'è Henna il tuo disco ascoltato per la prima volta a 12 anni e che in questi giorni  grida forte e mi parla di questa guerra  senza senso un'inutile inaudita  invasione per una supremazia  che  non sarà mai tale .

Non c’è una delle tue canzoni che amo di più non posso scegliere sceglierei interi album, certamente ne sceglierei cinque a occhi chiusi: Lucio Dalla, Com’è profondo il mare, Dalla, Henna, Dalla/Morandi.

E poi penso a Tobia e Stefano che ho incontrato grazie Pietro Marcello e a Per Lucio, suo omaggio a te rivoluzionario e pacifista amante del mare e del cielo, che non te ne sei mai andato, se non per far segnare l''Italia fuori Bologna. Di te parlano, come se fossi presente e sempre al presente come  se li ascoltassi in silenzio per interromperli con una delle tue folgorazioni poetiche  tra realtà e futuro di cui eri premonitore troppo  spesso.

Oggi con accorata  gratitudine nella vostra trattoria di sempre  vorrei abbracciare Tobia e Stefano mentre  tra una lasagna e una rosa  in un sorriso condividiamo un pezzo del tuo dolce  preferito.

I am saddened to have just found out that, last summer we lost great Canadian pianist Margaret Ann Ireland. I knew her well from my time as music director of Symphony New Brunswick. She was one of my favourite friends in Saint John and had visited her beautiful home many times with several guest artists that I had invited to Saint John. It was always a special feeling for me when she attended our concerts. She was a real inspiration. Difficult to forget her beautiful eyes full of warmth, encouragement and expression. Rest in peace Margaret Ann Ireland.
