EDIT: THE FIC IS POSTED
here's the link:
OKAY.
IM WRITING JAYVIK FANFICTION. FIX-IT. HAPPENS AFTER THE ENDING OF S2.
ITS KIND OF ARTISTC...
this is the beginning. Tell me what u think... should I continue?
~~~~~~~~
They were nowhere. Disappeared into nothingness. Maybe it was terrifying, but he (they?) didn't feel scared, not really. They were together. They disappeared together. That what mattered.
So their existence in nothingness was peaceful. It felt like forever, but it also felt like a second, or a few. The no-forever of being with love of your life can't be scary. Because the nothingness surrounding you is filled with the strongest emotion you can feel - affection, admiration... Love.
Love.
Love.
He woke up, he knew - gaining consciousness after non-being was hard to miss. So he knew that they were back. He kept his eyes closed.
The first breath hurt, because it always hurts when you confront reality. The nothingness isn't frightening. The chaos of every-day is. He couldn't open his eyes. He was afraid.
The first thing that hit him was all the things that happened. The emotions. The memories. They teared his being, his mind apart - at least for a moment. The need to confront his affection with everything that was. Suddenly, the space for the emotion that gave him peace in no-eternity... shrinked. But he didn't forget. He knew he needed to fight for it. He knew he was about to do everything in his power to never stop loving Viktor.
He opened his eyes.
okay.... this is it. I'm kinda sleep deprived and very emotional after the ending. obviously it's not beta read lmao. maybe someone wants to be a beta reader?
I think I'll post this on AO3 btw!!!
the fic will focus on jayce and viktor relationship (obviously) and how they navigate their life after whatever the fuck happened in the end of S2.
the rest of the fic is a mystery, even for me. weee
Forgive me if you've already answered this somewhere else but is Jayce's leg still super fucked up in his new remade body? I know you mentioned that his wrist is scared from where the runestone was ripped out, but is his leg and back also scared over or are they still arcane-y from the contamination/infection of the future world?
Anyway love love love all your jayvik work, and i think your finalized explanation of post-canon viktor retaining the machine herald look while still being able to look human is so far my favorite of the genre :D
Ohh no no, I didn't answer that anywhere (and even if I did, I'd be happy to answer it again)!
In my head (and thus in my comic), Jayce will get a normal back scar, since it was a chainsaw that injured him before his journey, and an arcane scar on his leg.
The back injury was certainly still open when he landed in the other universe, yet I don't think the anomaly had much effect on that wound - we see his lip burst open and other minor injuries that didn't end up being contaminated. That's why I don't think his back has been infected (but of course it's possible)
The leg is another thing. It broke and healed while he was in the other dimension. It healed badly, which is why he will probably have problems walking or even running for the rest of his life (modern medicine as we know it to perform bone correction seems unlikely). So it makes sense that he continues to wear a brace.
After s2 now hard to say...
The rune had an effect and I strongly suspect that both were cured of their hexcorisation. The magic has presumably not only healed Viktor, but also Jayce. The question is how much they were healed.
Because there's still a knot in my head: Viktor was terminally ill, the hexcore healed him, but also modified his body. The Arcane could have replaced the hexcore and therefore changed his body. We can see from Viktor's legendary skin that he has a normal body with arcane markings. Mage Viktor also has normal hands again, from what we've seen; guess he has mastered to handle the Arcane to transform his body back - maybe the rest looks similar to his legendary skin with arcane scars.
So it stands to reason that our Viktor now also has a human body again, possibly with the scars of the Arcane running through it.
Long story short, but if the arcane could heal Viktor completely (body and illness), it would also heal his leg injury. Same with Jayce's.
But to be honest, that would be an erasure of the things that make them who they are. That's why I've decided for myself that Jayce and Viktor will keep their injuries (voluntary or involuntary; I haven't decided yet). As a sign of their journey together, their connection and of course to continue to give weight to Jayce's words that beauty lies in imperfections.
That's why they still wear braces. When naked, the scars are probably clearly distinguishable from the other leg. As a sign that the arcane was there.
At the end of the day, it's just my theories and I'm not that familiar with the original lore, so it may well be that Viktor ends up keeping his machine body and Jayce is spit back out of the rune unchanged as a human 🙃
BUT thank you so much for your lovely words, I'm really happy to hear that you like my work 🥺❤️
#arcane asks#sorry for the long answer!#thinking about situations in which they need mobility...#i think viktor is not a 'hectic' fighter anyway#he prob stands still and would use magic to fight#jayce on the other hand i can imagine would suffer more from not being able to walk properly during a fight#but honestly it would be cool if jayce had some magic as well#not in the sense of a mage like viktor and a second body form#but maybe a little bit of magic
Idk why, but I wanna make a post about Arcane ships I don't like (not hate, just dislike) so here it is:
Timebomb – Yeah, I love their fanarts and edits and they are cute, but I never was obsessed with it and till s2 never even thought about shipping them. They def could be interesting as enemies-lovers, but for some reason they never got me and never actually made me feel something
Jayvik – I've said what I think about them before, but to me they're just close friends. Jayce sees him more of like a brother, while Viktor doesn't care about Jayce as much as Jayce cares about Viktor, plus he's kinda jealous of him. I don't see any romantic potential and honestly think their relationship is insanely overrated
Melvika and basically any ship with Sevika, especially with anyone outside of Zaun – first of all, I can't see Sevika in any relationship and always saw her as aromatic. The second thing is that she hates Pilties more than anyone and would never be lovers or even friends with them, and especially not with Ambessa who literally created a war between the fwo cities. Sevika suffered enough from them and she would never in her life date any of them
Melvik – I can see them as sort of frenemies, but I just don't get how can anyone see them in romantic way and can't see them being in love with each other in any universe. Also since Viktor is asexual, it would just be hard for him to be in relationship with someone who enjoys sex, including both Mel and Jayce
Skyvik – it def does make sense, but we just didn't know Sky enough and didn't saw enough of their interactions (before s2) for me to care about them. Ngl they were cute in s2 and may be if there was a context with their other moments, I would ship it, but there isn't so I just don't
Caitlinx/Caitjinx – they could have some potential of enemies-to-lovers, but there just aren't enough of their interactions for me to ship them. I COULD ship them after s2 if we had the actual war and hatred between them, but unfortunately the moment Caitlyn started hating Jinx mutually, Jinx stopped giving shit about Caitlyn. So it didn't use the potential and didn't become really interesting, may be only in fics
Silged/Sinko – Idk how I discovered it, but ngl, it could be interesting in sort of a fic. But unfortunately we didn't saw any their bond, so there's no chemistry that would make me ship them, they just don't care about each other. They would understand each other tho.
Vilko – I understand where it comes from and may be there could be some potential, but I don't really ship them and honestly their "like brothers" type of bond is already good, romance is just unnecessary here
Melora – not bad, but Elora is just too side of a character for Mel. We've barely seen them, however they definitely care about each other. So the same thing is Skyvik to me
Vangray or whatever their name is – I see them more as friends and I don't think it would fit in the story, but the ship itself isn't bad, just not my type
Ig that's all, but may be I'll upgrade it if I find a ship I forgot about
Alright, I thought long and hard about what we might see in Arcane Season 2, what the Machine Herald is going to look like, who else we might see, and so on.
Also, this post does not contain any leaks, I have seen one picture, which doesn't even make sense (lucky me). If you spoil anything under this post, you are going to be blocked. I will talk about bout the trailers, though.
So, let me get my thoughts in some order:
- if Viktor was the hooded person in the trailer or wears a mask, then it's probably more because of his side in this war: he's not a Piltovan, but also not really a Zaunite anymore. We don't know when he moved from the Undercity to Piltover, but from his concept art, it was most likely during his early teens.
He's slightly younger than in S1 Arc1, but already wearing the Academy's uniform (though it seems a bit too big for him, and his pants are more rigged).
So: Viktor is going to be a Pariah and he is going to need to hide his identity, which makes a Collab with Jinx unlikely since she's on the run from everyone. Singed might be there in the direct aftermath after he got blown up, but they're probably going to fall out again since lore-wise Singed is going to team up with Noxus.
- In League of Legends Heimerdinger is a mage (shooketh, I know), and there's already a scene in S1 alluding to this: when Viktor and Heimerdinger are in Heimerdinger's office, Viktor goes through Jayce's notes and is intrigued. He asks Heimerdinger, whether he could do it (magic) and Heimerdinger hesitates a tell-tale second before he declines. Now, Heimerdinger might be a mage, but he relies mostly on his inventions. But wouldn't a fight between Viktor and Heimerdinger be cool? First, they throw ideologies at each other, then they fight. I think, I'd love this even more than Viktor vs. Jayce. Kinda like Obi-Wan vs. Anakin.
- I think, that Caitlyn is going to shoot Vi. Everyone I read so far thinks that it's the other way around, but that would be too predictable in my opinion. But maybe it is that way.
- Just stating that everyone is going to be contrary than they were in S1 and going from there falls a bit short. I think, that there's more to this quote.
- Divorce Era, because Jayce does, in fact, not understand. I am going to cry.
- The Hexcore will save Viktor's life in the aftermath of the explosion, and there are three ways I can see that happening:
(1) Viktor does it himself, maybe with the help from Singed.
(2) Jayce does it, thus breaking his promise to destroy it. I am going to cry
(3) The Hexcore, which is now connected to Viktor will sense his doom and burst to him. That might also be the shine, that Heimerdinger saw in the trailer.
- That brings me to another point, to the connection towards the Void: I don't think there's much to it and that the Hexcrystals are not shards of the brakken. However, I think the Hexcore is sentient due to Sky. Think about it: it changed its form after it disintegrated (or absorbed) Sky. Then it hurt Viktor (honestly, same. You think, you can walk away after accidentally dusting me and threatening to destroy my new essence? I'd be pissed). It might be interesting, if the Hexcore/Sky talks to Viktor in his head, furthering his spiral into madness. I'm here for it.
- Ekko will learn how to manipulate time and he will use it to try and save somebody. Be it somebody from the Firelights, their hideout or Jinx. Maybe it will go in the same direction like in the Convergence-Comic (which is, I repeat, outside of any lore), maybe not.
- Well then, what Viktor might look like: my favourite head-canon would be just as described in The Pulse of the Machine by bringthekaos on AO3. Mechanical eyes? Voice modulator can be shut off? Emotional suppressor has a switch? Rawrs in cyber-engineering. As it stands, I imagine it more to be like Battle Angel Alita (the manga, NOT the film!) or like a Borg from Star Trek. Definitely NOT like a Cyberman from Doctor Who.
- Who else do I want to see in S2:
Swain, just give me the Noxian General and heal my Daddy issues.
Renata, just give me the Chem-Baronness and heal my Mommy issues.
Jhin, Arcane should take place around the same time when Jhin was in Zaun. But that is a far shot (pun intended)
Camille, she exploits Hextech to become a weapon and I think she is kind of contrary to Viktor, who only ever wanted to help (others, himself, though with sometimes dubious means
I don't see that Orianna is Singed's daughter. That would fuck her beautiful lore. Don't do that to me.
Stuff, I'd also like to see:
- Viktor's apartment in Piltover
- Viktor's parents (flashback)
- Jayce's father (flashback)
- Jayce and Viktor fighting but unable to do so properly
- Mel and Sevika together
Thanks for coming to my Arcane-Talk.
The Arcane S2 Rant
WARNING: ARCANE SEASON 2 SPOILERS
CONTENT WARNING FOR DISCUSSIONS OF SUICIDE
So I was torn on whether or not to do this, as my internal debate was "is it worth it to dwell on the negatives" or do I want to ... not do that and try to focus on the positives. But I saw another Tumblr post talking about the same things I was feeling and it was very cathartic for me to see someone else thinking the same things I do, so I will commit this to pen and share it to the world in the hopes it shares the same healing.
So here's all my beef with Arcane Season 2, in one place for your location.
We needed a Season 3. It's already been confirmed Arcane gets the two seasons, then we go off to somewhere else. But the latter half of Season 2 had so many misfires. And this is all we get. If we had another season, there'd have been more room for error, and the errors we DO get wouldn't drag the whole experience down as much.
The alternate universe makes no damn sense if you think about it too hard. Okay, sure, maybe Powder doesn't become Jinx if Vi is too dead to abandon her, but how does that any of that make Silco NOT try to kill Vander? Silco wasn't mad Vander tried to kill him (mostly) - he was mad Vander tried to kill him, sure, but what really set him off was that Vander started making deals with Piltover.
"I hated you then. But you still had my respect. Until you started making peace with them." (or however it went)
Vi's emotional state is tied too much into Vander. When she realizes Warwick is Vander, she nearly completely lets go of her grudges against Jinx. But Jinx killed Caitlyn's mother and kidnapped Vi herself once - AND Jinx still killed Mylo and Claggor because she didn't listen to Vi. And Vi's breakdown crying fighting Vander in the finale makes her out to be such a codependent unstable person.
Fuck the Noxians. This was supposed to be Vi and Jinx and Zaun and Piltover's story. The story of Piltover versus Zaun. Instead we got an uplifting (read, centrist) story of Piltover and Zaun coming together against an external threat.
Sevika got sidelined. Yes, she got to be a Councilor in the end, but she had such chemistry with both Vi and Jinx, and more of this season, of this story, should have been how she interacted with both sisters.
Ambessa is a boring invincible villain, and everything Silco wasn't in Season 1. Silco got caught off-foot. People did things that surprised him. Vi being alive is a shock to him as much as it is to Jinx. Ambessa, meanwhile, the only 'setback' she receives is Vanderwick's rampage through the prison, and even that becomes a positive for her as she goes 'yo I want one of those.' She doesn't even raise an eyebrow about Mel's disappearance.
We should have gotten interactions between Ekko and Vi. It's all about Timebomb, but given how Ekko reacted to Jinx becoming Jinx, we ought to have seen how he reacted to knowing Vi signed up to be an Enforcer.
Caitlyn should have done something horrible on-screen. In Episode 8, Vi accuses her of listening to Ambessa, but all we actually see Caitlyn ... DO is sit angrily at a desk while the Noxians and Enforcers harass the people in Zaun. Something the Enforcers were ... already doing. She should have been the one who spotted that one Jinxer at that checkpoint, not Rictus.
Also fuck Rictus. We didn't come here for the Ambessa and Rictus show. We came here for Jinx and Vi and Caitlyn show. (And Jayce and Viktor, I guess).
Jinx should have been allowed to do her self-termination on her own. Keep in mind, in real life, it is ALWAYS correct to try and stop someone from un-aliving.
But in the context of the fate of a fictional character, given everything Jinx had been through, it made sense for her to blow herself up. All her life she's only ever wanted to be good for something, to be useful, to be loved, and she keeps messing up and hurting people - it would have been cathartic for her to finally hurt one last person - herself - and in so doing spare others from further pain.
Isha's storyline was tropey and uninspired. Isha herself is a darling, of course, but the way the narrative choice was "Jinx ends up adopting a child" in order to motivate her to come out of her hiding hole ... when Sevika was right there ... rubs me the wrong way. And it's not like Jinx hadn't suffered ENOUGH losses and grief! Oh wait! She totally did!
And if we had to put up with all this nonsense ... could we at least have gotten the uncensored version of Caitlyn and Vi's sex scene?
Making Arcane canon is also dumb for League of Legends what with the whole "Vi is not an Enforcer by the end" and "Caitlyn LOSES a freaking eye." Because that's a cool thing for a What If in a multi-versal storytelling. It's a little hard to buy into that as the Raw, Default Canon.
And look ... I think Arcane Season 1 was a perfect story. It was always going to be a tough act to follow. My first reaction when Season 2 was announced was dread and apprehension, because there didn't seem to be anywhere they could go that didn't make the whole thing worse - it should have been just the Season One and Done. And you know what? I was very right!
Also: this is way more subjective but I didn't think the songs were as good as in Season 1. Wasteland just doesn't hit as hard as What Could Have Been IMO.
Rambling about Vi
ARCANE S2 SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
I've been going through arcane s2 tag but I haven't seen anyone mention this so far, and I really need to talk about it.
This post is about Vi, but more specifically -- Claggor's goggles and their symbolism. We know that Claggor's goggles were one of the things that Jinx kept after her bomb worked, and we know she used them frequently -- we see her wear them every time she works on something both in season 1 and in season 2 as well. Ever since season 1 the goggles were set up as a symbol -- of a life and identity lost, of Jinx's insanity and hallucinations becoming stronger and stronger, of lost innocence and fall into maddness and violence. And I love how now this symbol was passed onto Vi -- in such a vital moment of her journey as well.
Just moments before the group enters that hangout place (also, the way we keep coming back here, after all these years that passed between s1 arc 1 and s2 -- brilliant!) Vi decided to join the Enforcers -- the very people who for decades (at least!!) oppressed people of Zaun and treated them like animals, like dirt on the soles of their shoes that didn't deserve so much as to breathe. In that moment she's besically deciding to betray her people, but most importantly, herself -- the little girl who walked across that bridge and witnessed all the death and destruction the Enforcers sown, saw her own parents' dead bodies laying broken on the ground. She betrayed the older Vi, the one taken by Vander that followed him around, one that dreamt of getting the boot the Enforcers kept on their necks off and ripping it apart, so Zaun would finally be free of their brutality. She betrayed the Vi that was locked in Stillwater, beaten by the Enforcers for the simple crime of existing, to the point when anytime someone approached her cell, that's what she expected -- another beating. Young Vi saw the imbalance of power between the Enforcers and people of Zaun -- and she hated it. The Enforcers always had better weaponry, training, every advantage possible, and they used it in the most vicious way possible -- to oppress, to hurt, to make sure that people of the Undercity would never be recognized as human, as deserving to live and to have rights.
And now, Vi's putting on the badge herself. Now, she's the one with the advantage -- hextech weapons and bioweapons, things that even with the use of shimmer would be extremely hard to fight against. With that one action, Vi became the oppressor -- and while we see her refuse to acknowledge that until the very end of episode 3, to me her picking up those goggles was the first sign of her facing that reality.
Because Clagger's goggles are a symbol of the past -- the past where Vi was fighting for the right cause, to make her family's life better, to make sure there would be no more orphans in the Undercity. Vi is no longer fighting for the right cause -- she is now part of the causeless violence released onto the people of Zaun, onto the civillians, onto the kids. She not only stops to examine the goggles -- no, she picks them up and puts them on her head immediately, as a reminder of who she was, as a reminder of why she was fighting in the first place, as comfort because she no longer is who she was, she no longer fights for what she faught for in the past and she needs to belive that she's making the right choice in following Cait's lead, because if she faces the fact that she became everything she hated, the very thing that made her into the person she was in season 1, that'll break her. And Vi cannot allow herself to break. Not in the past, not now, not ever.
To me, the goggles are such a wonderful and important part leading to a) Vi's breakdown with Cait when she asks Cait to never change, and b) when she sees Isha protect Jinx with her body and aim a gun at her head, and realizing the fact that she's becoming to Isha what the Enforcers were to young Vi and Powder on that bridge, and that she was no longer fighting for the right cause.
Anyway, this is super chaotic, but I love how Clagger and Milo's memory lives on and still haunts the narrative for both Jinx and Vi. Just chef's kiss all around, what a wonderful show.
Also, English isn't my first language so hopefully this all makes sense lol.
Audio storytelling is just as important as visual storytelling. Music is arguably THE most effective and efficient way communicate ideas in film. Music is able to not only capture the emotion of a scene but it is also capable of capturing ideas vital to the story and reminding the audience of those ideas in an instant. Like just think about any major movie franchise you know in this context.
Yeah. Exactly.
Which is why I'm so devastated with the way Arcane Season Two treated its music. Now, to be fair, I haven't dedicated the time to listening to the score of the season yet, and I've only seen s2 once, so this post is truly just going off my own memory. Season one set up so many musical themes that were wonderful. Musical themes are little motifs that are dedicated to certain elements of a story. They're really hard to make but they're such a life saver once you make them and attach them to certain ideas because then in the future you don't have to make new music to convey the same message, you just play the theme and the audience immediately makes the connection. S1 set up musical themes for Piltover, Powder, Jinx, Jinx in connection with hextech, Silco, Silco in connection with death- these are only the ones that are coming off the top of my mind there's so many more. And the music in s2 just DOESN'T utilize these themes, at least not in an effective way. It's truly such a shame!
And then not to mention the way s2 treats pop music. S1 had a pop song in basically every episode, but the song was always the backdrop of the scene. But in s2, pop songs are made to be the focus, not the actual story that is occurring in the scene.
#I know this post isn't of substance but ive been thinking about it for awhile and had to get it out!!!!#ah!!!!!!!#music#arcane#arcane season 2#arcane season two#arcane s2
Finally Viktor’s half!!! Yeayyy again this is based on my interpretations of arcane s2 and @bringthekaos fics!! Please give me a like bob dylan is just so hard to understand hahaha.
Here I will feature a more somber tone, the songs are full of doubts which conterparts with the previous playlist full of certainty, here the songs are more melancholic but at the end we have peace. I will post the meaning of each song for me in viktors context below, but I recommend listening to my playlist before reading so you are not influenced by my interpretation.
It’s again full of first aid kit songs, because they are the best in writing love turmoil songs!! I absolutely loveeeee them.
Hope you all like.
Rebel heart - it’s the song theme for viktor. It embodies his journey throughout the playlist. This song is about the herald’s heart, viktor rebel nature. This song have so many symbolisms, viktor debates, both the fics and the show, if he should trust Jayce, is him misplacing his hearth giving it to Jayce? To the machine herald all is futile and should stay in the past, is that also true for viktor? Even when he hates Jayce when his life is pure storm he can’t stop wanting him. All because of his rebel heart, he then realizes that Jayce is the only one that truly saw his heart.
When I grow up - it’s a song about viktor dreams and ambitions when he invented hextech, what he wanted to achieve, he wanted his investiments to come back to him in some form o happiness or contempt. He also stars to notice he wishes Jayce had deeper feelings about him.
In my room - a song about how recluse and not preoccupied viktor is when the matter is life outside the lab. He just can’t enjoy it, he thinks he’s useless if he don’t invent something new every minute.
Ready to run - it’s about Viktor’s insecurity when he make bold moves towards Jayce, mostly suggesting somethig by deeper, he has a impression that Jayce is scared of a possible relationship. But when at the ends he concludes he’s the disappointment (wrongly by the way) and that he’s the one ready to run all the time.
Jolene - it’s about jealousy, Viktor is jealous of Mel being Jayce girlfriend, specially because he thinks she’s better than him, but he also thinks she’s not a good person and is manipulating Jayce. (Do I support such attitude from viktor? No, do I think he believe this shit? Yes).
Child of Summer - here viktor wishes he was more active in life, he wished he shined like the golden boy, maybe then Jayce would admire him. Viktor always wanted to be lonely, because in his mind it was better that way since he was always ostracized due to his leg, until he found himself completely isolated of life and the joy of it. He regrets that decision even more after he meets Jayce, maybe if his personal life take no path he just needs to whait Jayce to find him.
Hem of her dress - Viktor believes that Jayce found his other piece in Mel and also in Piltover council. And that him and their dreams will be forgotten, like a photograph Jayce forgot he took.
I just needed a Friend - this song translates the loneliness viktor felt when he was sick, while Jayce was occupied being a councilor, viktor laughed at his fears and played controlled. He came to the conclusion he was nothing more than an amateur project that wasn’t made to live and was deemed to die fast, he was ready to be taken to whatever fate destiny wanted and believed everything was a mistake from the universe (him, his creations, hextech) he only needed a friend (where the fuck were you Jayce by the way?).
My wild sweet love - it’s also about the period where Viktor finds out he’s dying and Jayce is doing politics. Viktor needs Jayce golden aura more than even, but Jayce gotta do what he gotta do, and viktor is left with his feelings. The love he had for Jayce will this only be a memory?
Our own pretty ways - it’s a song about breakup, when s2 hits or when viktor is expelled from Piltover, he finally realizes Jayce is quite different from what he was in s1 but also the same in many ways (stubborn, hypocrite, blind) and that their paths diverged. So Viktor just decides to end their relation.
Ruins - it’s about what viktor left behind, his ruins: Jayce, his love, his dream, hextech, Piltover. He believes he lost himself in the pursuit of greatness and greedy politics. He realizes Jayce maybe lost too.
It’s all over now baby blue - it’s about endings and new beginnings. It’s Viktor saying goodbye to Jayce, to the dead (sky), to his political beliefs (pacificism), to Piltover, to his illness and leg, to his body. It’s a new beginning to him, when he leaves Jayce (considering s2 canon) or it’s expelled by Jayce (as in the fics) he needs to start over.
You want it darker - it’s Viktor disgusted with Piltover and himself for being a part of their schemes, it’s a song about terrible acts evil people do using progress civility and religion as an excuse. It’s him realizing how toxic the council is, and how they (and himself) are responsible for Zaun misfortunes, he’s ready to change that situation. In the series context this doing could also represent Viktor’s acknowledgement that humankind and it’s emotions are the responsible for all misfortunes, and he’s ready to evolve past that in pursuit of a better future. I do t think viktor is that much religious, but this song could also mean he’s pissed with god/universe/fate for giving him a disease that’s going to kill him. Basically it’s Viktor pissed with how unfair the world is.
Farewell Angelina - I think in Viktor’s context he is talking about two words. The world of appearances, where people see him as the machine herald/ arcane herald that force people into zombies and what’s found underneath, the world of what’s really going on. The contradicting lines of sweet words, with am apocalyptic agressive world symbolize the complexity of what’s really going on. In one side we have sweet human viktor that remains the same, and in the other we have the apocalyptic reality that pushes machine/arcane idealist that does not belive in humankind kind of viktor. who will him be? This interior fight is embodied in the decision related to Jayce: does he love Jayce? Does he hate Jayce? Does he follow the sound from his hearth? Does he say farewell? No assumption about his intentions made by either Piltover Zaun or Jayce are accurate, maybe not even he knows what is accurate. Viktor tries to leave behind this conflict and just get over it, but leaving emotions and morals buried is impossible. Using s2 sense literally this song could also symbolize Viktor’s transformation in the arcane herald inside the cocoon, it’s Viktor’s old self saying farewell inside Viktor’s own mind, here the apocalyptic verses would be viktor old body being thorn apart by the arcane.
Stay Gold - it’s a song about how everything in life is deemed to vanish, from gold to grey. Viktor realizes his human body will vanish, his relationship with Jayce will also whiter. But in his dreams he can still make a bridge that takes him to Jayce as he was before everything. What if Jayces love is not enough for viktor anymore?
Diamonds and Rust - this song is about the sweeteness of Jayce and Viktor love in the beginning of s1 (represented by diamonds) justaposed with the bitterness of the separation in s2 or after the end of s1 (represented by rust). When Jayce comes back to visit viktor, he’s met with the harsh reality of the price he needs to pay for leaving Jayce (solitude) a price he already paid. Viktor is also nostalgic when he remembers the time with Jayce in the lab, and he need to make clear that both him and Jayce could’ve died in that time and viktor would not have to taste the rust only the diamonds (considering he was ill and he and Jayce were blown up by jinx in the end of s1).
A quiet life - here it’s Viktor wondering if now that he’s far away from Jayce and also freed from his decaying body maybe he would have a peaceful life. But it’s the quite opposite, now he’s utterly alone, and even when it’s all quiet outside, inside his mind his loneliness take away his peace.
Dress Rehearsal Rag - it’s about Jayce and Viktor interactions after viktor departure, it’s viktor realizing that Jayce lost all of his golden aura, it’s Viktor realizing his impact on Jayce and realizing that Jayce do care deeply for him. Dude this song is about a man that was famous and had an golden aura around him, this man was in the top of the world but he’s not what he appears, deep down he’s a frustrated man and the singer sees that, which call back to the fact that viktor truly a sees Jayce for who he is. Leonard cohen literally described Jayce
Cedar Lane - It’s about what was great of Jayce and Viktor relationship, he still can’t break away from Jayce, even with all the doubts he previously had deep inside he still believes something good may come out of his situation. He can belive the future maybe gold.
I’ve wanted you - confession song of viktor towards Jayce. It’s Viktor adititng to himself (or otherwise) all the struggle he went through, the loneliness he felt trohiught the years, him trying to foil that void with distractions. But all that time all he wanted was Jayce, maybe width Jayce viktor can finally overcome this void inside him.
I found a way - a song about the cicle of inner conflict between the two identities of viktor. I one side we have human viktor and in the other we have machine / arcane herald. Viktor is confused who is he, but suddenly Jayce is back to his life, and like the morning he takes over the darkness and share light into viktor decision. In conclusion Jayce takes out the best in viktor and creates the best version of Viktor’s when he’s around.
Emmylou - it’s basically viktor adimiting to himself and to Jayce he will stay with him though the end, is just a love declaration (cute I know)
Yeaaaaa my brain’s like Literally not shut up since my last spam post about this GOD DAMN SHOW and it just… keeps spiraling… spiraling… spiraling… So, let’s talk about Vi again!
On my tiktok yesterday I brought up a post from the AMA for Arcane a couple of years ago that the co-creators were answering. And someone asked, “Will Vi and Caitlyn shippers be happy with the upcoming season?” to which the answer was, “There’s that part they might like, and that part they probably hate.” To which Amanda Overton (basically the writer responsible for most of the Caitvi scenes we got in s1) said, “I take full responsibility for both and they make the show better” so that’s… not all that thrilling.
However, it’s gotten me to think about what on Earth that “probably hate” bit would be. Now this is something I’m saying as Complete speculation, I’m not Certain that this is what’s going on but if you’re willing to take a grain of salt with me then I’m willing to explain my reasoning. With that, let’s continue.
My HOPEFUL guess is that the “probably hate” thing is that Vi and Caitlyn split again at the beginning of S2. Honestly, it could be over a number of things: conflicting motivations about Jinx (Caitlyn wants revenge, Vi’s probably still in denial and wants to find “Powder”. Because she doesn’t call Jinx “Jinx” until After she’s already an Enforcer), Vi probably feels out of place and wants to figure things out on her own (As in she can’t trapse around Zaun she’s unwanted there, but on the flipside she’s a complete outsider to Piltover. Because even though Caitlyn would probably welcome her with open arms, doesn’t mean everyone else will…), there’s really a whole list of things that could probably explain this. So, Vi goes on her own to try and figure herself out and Caitlyn tries to go back to being an Enforcer and go through life without Vi.
But just because Vi left doesn’t mean that the conflict between Piltover and Zaun stops. And simply being an Enfocer is putting targets on Caitlyn’s back, which I think Caitlyn is fully aware of. And she and the others get ambushed at her parent’s tent that I pointed out in an earlier post; to which we Also saw Vi seeing the aftermath of. And, I think Vi has to make the decision that being an Enforcer is her best shot at bringing the conflict between Piltover and Zaun to an end; regardless of what her past has been with them. So, Vi probably comes back to Caitlyn probably midway through-ish (ep 4ish maybe?) and that’s when Caitlyn leads the strike teams to Zaun with those 3 objectives: Find Jinx, get rid of Shimmer, and neutralize anyone still loyal to Silco. I think that Vi and Caitlyn are the one team that goes after Jinx in that temple scene we see in the teaser (because that’s NOT the “finale fight” between the two, there’s NO way they’re showing that this early on) and I believe this for a few reasons: When Vi says “My sister is gone” the background looks like the temple and Vi really only holds that vulnerability in her eyes when talking to Caitlyn (See the bed scene from “Oil and Water”), and the last clip of Caitlyn we see she’s clearly in the temple as well, so I bet she’s probably backup for Vi in case thing’s get nasty. On the downside of this, there’s a still of Caitlyn that doesn’t show up in the trailer where she’s still in the temple, she’s lost her hat and her hair’s a mess and the cut on her lip is fresh. So Clearly this fight doesn’t go the way that they want it to, and that’s where Caitlyn gets the scar on her lip.
Now what happens After this? Ehhh it’s hard to say, mainly because I believe that they haven’t really shown us anything that has to do with the last episodes of the show. And to be honest even with a final trailer they’re probably gonna give us around Sept./Oct. they might only show scenes from up to ep 8 of the season (I only say this cuz that’s what they did for s1).
(Although my little shit of a brain DID say “what if the show Ends with Vi getting amnesia instead of it happening During the season?” soooo thx for That brain, that isn’t upsetting to think about AT ALL…)
So, yea just more speculations on what I think could possibly happen. Also, does anyone know what was said at the Annecy festival? That was supposed to happen today, right? Anyways, I’m out until my brain comes up with something else. Bye!
tw/cw medical? idk if I have to specify but I'm looking for an ooc response from both you and anyone who resonates:
I latched onto Viktor hard when s1 came out and I felt seen in a way no media has done before. I've since found out that I've had medical trauma my whole life ("what do you mean other people haven't gotten almost every diagnostic test insurance will cover?").
I also became "disabled" disabled in between seasons (I've always been disabled but I lost the ability to work and I was in the ER consistently). Thus, the stakes of my reaction to new Viktor content (which will almost certainly be upsetting) are now much higher.
I don't think it will be 'triggering' per se, but it won't be easy to watch, especially as I struggle with acknowledging I even *have* limits. Based on my circle and the obviously personal nature of my view on Viktor, I won't be able to avoid S2 (and I really don't want to). But I am a little worried it will shatter me for a bit. I suppose I'm just looking to see if anyone feels similarly? -🔮
(Ooc response)
That is pretty much my exact situation as well. I actually did make a post about this on my main account already (which I will not be sharing for the time being for privacy reasons).
I'm pretty nervous to see where Viktor's storyline is gonna go >_>
Especially considering the timeline of my own life right now. If things go south in arcane, I'm about to have the worst week ever. 💀💀💀💀
Hi, Riki! How are you? Now that you've finished Arcane, what are your top 5 fav moments from the series (you can pick top 5 each for s1 & s2 or top 5 from s1 + s2)? Also, who are your top 3 fav characters? Which do you like best s1 or s2? Why?
So, I'm kinda confused, can I ask why are there so many hate for CaitVi & JayVic ships? Sorry if I ask too much....
Hi!!! I'm doing good~~ Thanks for asking anon!
Hmm, this is hard, I think I overall liked S1 better, so top favorites scenes:
Vi parkouring through the Undercity: I am a sucker for Vi, I just like seeing her happy and that was the happiest we ever see her.
Vi + Jayce taking down the Shimmer manufacturers. The fight was too cool.
Sevika + Jinx vs. Smeech: I love the song and the fight is just fun
Ekko in the final fight rewinding time: I have a huge soft spot for him and I am so happy he got his moment. That sequence where he's fighting the robots and keeps turning back time to redo things was amazing.
Jinx & Isha montage when Isha took the shot against Vander: Super painful, but also beautiful
Favorite characters!
Vi, easily my favorite from the entire show. She always was and she always will be. She has so much love inside her, and she keeps loving people and protecting people. It's to her detriment, but it's a part of her to be a protector. I wish the narrative would've let her love without hurting for once.
Ekko: I don't post about him often, most of my arcane posts are like, jayvik, but that's primarily because i have a hard line between personal stuff and fandom stuff. Ekko is who's going to stick with me for a lifetime. His leadership, the things he stood for, and his heart are simply beautiful. A person who saw all the darkness the undercity had to offer and decided to make something beautiful anyways. Someone who'll never, ever give up on hope. I wish I could be like him. I love characters who can hope despite the bleakness of the world because I can't, and I hope I can learn from them.
Viktor: Idk his arc is just very compelling to me and made me see things from a new perspective. It's kind of an overdone story but the way it was written explored him really well.
Season 1 is easily my favorite. I liked Arcane because of the classism and ableism discussion but that died down in S2. I still had hope for the liberation of Zaun, Vi was the MC, there seemed to be hope for a revolution.
Okay so the hate for CaitVi and Jayvik...
CaitVi:
To keep it short, a lot of people have issues with Caitlyn's barely addressed fascism and the large class and power difference between Cait and Vi. Caitlyn gassed the undercity, she was about to shoot a child when Vi was telling her to stop, then hit Vi, and she never apologizes for any of it directly. No one even really confronts her about ti and the one person who does is framed by the narrative as being just as awful as her(Jinx, also I think Jinx is a lot more forgiveable). She also calls Zaunites animals & got Vi to be an enforcer when they're the ones who killed her parents and locked her up in prison.
The tone-deaf writing of the class issues and police brutality, when many people are still watching people who look like Caitlyn do things that caitlyn did as an enforcer during real-life protests. The story equates Jinx's grief & Zaunite's violence born primarily as a form of protest and a way to fight back as equal to Caitlyn going into dictatorship after one tragedy. Specifically, POC have major issues with CaitVi because of this.
JayVik:
They're now trending and getting far more attention than CaitVi. People are saying it's fandom misogyny in play again, which definitely plays a role. A lot of JayVik fans post a lot of racist takes on Mel or completely mischaracterize her. Same for Sky. The POC women getting sidelined for the men.
There's also, like homophobes pissed off that people are saying jayvik can be read as romantic. One of the head writers, christian Linke, said stuff that just made the "Is jayvik canon?" question worse and there's lots of infighting. Or there was, it seems to have died down a little bit afaik.
That's all from me!!! DW about the questions I love answering asks!!!! Hope the last bits gave an idea of what's happening rn?
I figured I am gonna post a Caitlyn Arc-themed analyzation aswell, because so many people need to hear it after being mad at her for her reactions and actions in act 1. So here we go. Sit down, relax, and enjoy my suffer off explain how Caitlyn is being unfairly treated.
ARCANE SEASON 2 SPOILERS UNDER CUT:
I will, in this paragraph, describe certain scenes, and go into detail about Caitlyn's change. I fully support her vilain arc in s2, but there is also the things we have to explain on why she is doing so. Here we go!
Caitlyn is grieving. When you get driven by grief, it eventually turns into madness, and the need to get justice, no matter if you get blood in your hands or not. When you are in a constant state off doubt, violence, anger, fear, distrust, and betrayal, you aren't yourself. You are being knocked around by all those voices. Or as Caitlyn describes it; the 3 faces. Her mother Cassandra, Jinx, and Vi. Your identity and personality is being questioned. The heart and the mind isn't going together, and uniting. The mind is driving Caitlyn. Her heart is starving and grieving. She doesn't want to be this way, but she is forced to. By herself. By her anger. Anxiety. Fear.
When the 3 faces off your loved ones and enemies are constantly there, you can't figure out what path you want to take. Does she take on Cassandra's and the Kirammans' legacy? Does she become stone cold and seek the blood off Jinx? Or does she want quiet and peace with Vi, the only one caring truly about her? Would she be willing to risk one off, if not *the* most important relationship in her life, just to get revenge?
If you got put into a scenario where you had to choose between things such as these, would your mind go at ease? Would the decision be easy? Would you just be able to choose then carry on? Would you ever question yourself after deciding?
Caitlyn has 3 emotions that carry her actions in each episode. The first one being grief, second being fear and anger, third being ferocity. She can't control herself. When there is a pain that eats you up so hard and violent, you try your best to get out off it. Caitlyn doesn't want this. She never did.
}------------------------------------------------{
Your biggest question may be; why does Caitlyn blame Vi for Jinx's actions? And what did Cait mean by "HER blood runs in YOUR veins"?
Well, we can state it like this; Caitlyn is a only-child, with a lesser good relationship with her parents, arguing, which apparently happend alot, especially between her and Cassandra.
Caitlyn doesn't know what Vi has been through, not all off it. The only thing she knows is that her parents were killed by enforcers, and her sister is Jinx. Nothing else.
Caitlyn doesn't know that feeling when you want revenge, but that revenge is having to hurt or, in this case, kill your own family. She would never kill family for another. Family is so dear to her. I think she would rather sacrificing herself for another, but never family. If someone were to ask Caitlyn if she would kill her own sister (if she had one) for Vi, do you think she would have done it?
And, now, we can talk about Violyn splitting up, knowing what Cait knows and doesn't.
In that moment when Vi and Caitlyn got blown into that hole, she was most likely thinking about how, after Jinx blew uø the council, Caitlyn said to Tobias, her father; "I had the shot", referring to she could have killed her at that moment, but she didn't. She blames herself deeply for that. And the same happend in the Vi and Caitlyn VS Sevika and Jinx - fight. She could have shot Jinx, but didn't and now feels like she betrayed herself, and what feels like her mother.
Caitlyn is, again, driven by even more furiosity. Vi doesn't recognize this woman. The one she knew was sweet. Relaxed. Kind. This is a whole new person, according to Vi. Caitlyn has gone into madness, grief, and even paranoia. She forgets about everything, and is blind to what she is doing. Vi, asking worridly and also confusingly '"what's wrong with you?", leading to Cait answering with "I keep telling myself that you're different. But you're not". When she says this, it's a way off telling Vi "You are just like other Zaunites, ignorant, mocking, and no different than your sister". Caitlyn is feeling like she got betrayed by Vi after Vi 'protected' Jinx, which Caitlyn has NO remorse for. She only sees a terrorist, psychopath, murderer and criminal in Jinx, yet she barely knows her story. If not, none off it at all. Cait eventually says, in coldness; "it's her blood in your veins. Caitlyn is, again, saying this because off what she sees as betrayal, and the fact that Vi still, deep in her heart, loves her sister. A murderer, in Cait's eyes. This leads to Vi arguing back, asking "then why are you the one acting like her?", which Vi is totally correct in saying. Because, matter off a fact, she is. Both are driven by the same madness to get revenge because they lost a loved one because off the other. Caitlyn is on the exact same redemption arc as Jinx is. Caitlyn being after Jinx, and Jinx being after Vi.
In that moment, Vi holds Cait's upper arm, slowly sliding it down to Cait's hand. Vi doesn't want to argue, because she knows what Caitlyn is going through is beyond impossible to get over, and Caitlyn is the only one left that is worth fighting for, and with. Vi wants to communicate. She wants Caitlyn to let go off the anger for just a second. Yet, Caitlyn can't seem to know how. She is so worked up, stressed, anxious, and beyond pissed at the amount off chaos happening in her life. Her whole future and life is being inverted.
The build-up off these emotions leads to Cait doing an unthinkable act, hitting Vi into her chest with a heavy rifle. She does this, because she is letting go off Vi. She probably doesn't think she is letting her go forever, but for awhile. She wants to end this. She can't take Vi anymore, reasoning being what I talked about earlier. There is a parallel in this scene, from when Vi hit Powder in s1, and left *to take a second to breathe and calm down, so she could go back to Powder again, but it lead to her being taken by Marcus*.
Caitlyn, feeling like Vi is and has been unloyal to her (again, NOT Caitlyn's fault, purely blinded), leaves Vi, a desperate woman who only seeks purpose, sobbing at the pits off the underground. In a mess off memories.
She goes back to her cold self, like she never left, and eventually gets put in the Commander-role off the Enforcers by Ambessa, whos' role in Piltover is questioned.
}------------------------------------------------{
Caitlyn does now not only carry all off the city's future, but also the entire enforcer team, and security off the entirety off Piltover, right in her hands. Could you even think off the amount off responsibility this is? The stress?
I also want to include carrying House Kiramman's legacy, with her dead mothers hands resting on her shoulders, relying on Caitlyn's dedication to be a savior.
Also gonna state that she is the only one, currently, to have access the Kirammans secrets and history. She is revealing both truths and lies to herself, about the region off Piltover and Zaun, and so many unnamed cases.
}------------------------------------------------{
That leads me to the end off my ramble. I hope you enjoyed the pain I may have caused. Can't wait to see the countinuation off her progress in act 2, and seeing which path she chooses to take! She is a charcter with so much development, so I am beyond happy seeing different sides off her, and being able to analyze all off them! 🫶
Podcasts against gender stereotypes (yay!)
I made a post about the way gender essentially doesn't exist in Arcane, but I also wanted to say a few words about two podcasts I've been listening to lately.
In The Sheridan Tapes, I was struck by the way Bill Tyler and his partner, Robert Quincy, became the emotional and caring core of the searchers team. Sam Bailey was also allowed to be vulnerable, his "Heart" episode was soul-piercing, and his power relies mostly on intuition, on feelings. He literally needs an emotional connection for it to work in a certain way.
Kate Sheridan and Maria Sol, on the opposite, felt more like the action members of the team for the most of S2, very determined and tough when needed, holding themselves together at all times.
Things shifted to more neutral in S3 and 4, but S2 had me pleasantly surprised, because the traditional gender roles were sort of reversed but not driven to the extremes (like a lot of movies deal with 'tough women' nowadays). I'm agender so I like when gender stereotypes are treated as non-existent and the authors write people, not "men and women".
It's pretty much the same with Syntax Podcast. There's no clear devision gender roles wise, but I liked how Silas - not Lizzy or Alyx or even the most sociable of the group and the team leader Cassius - became 'the caring one' for the team: despite his stuck up attitude at first (or it just sounded that way to me in the beginning, I'm relistening and it feels way less so now), seemingly being more of an introvert and just 'on his own wavelength', it's Silas' trailer where everyone ends up gathering when they need support, Cass goes to him right away from the very beginning when they want to have some advice or just to discuss anything, any time a team member is having a hard time he makes sure to come up to them and give some reassurance or ask if they need help, and it was him who was making rounds to ensure everyone was ok when they were waiting out a siege. All this, considering that they have a leader, a medic and a security head on the team as well. So it wasn't strictly necessary, but he ended up taking this role all the same, just like he used to care about his mother's wellbeing since childhood after his father died.
Greg, being the "papa bear", also never shows any callousness despite serving in the military for the most of his life. In fact, his supernatural experience story is concentrated on moral support of his fallen comerades families. Moreover, although he tries to act tough like his place in the team demands, he's still allowed to show vulnerability and takes the chance. Same with J - military experience and no toxic masculinity whatsoever (I mean yes there were a few jokes but he was lightheartedly picking on Alyx and paid for this right away XD).
The girls are never damsels in distress and do a lot for the team.
(I don't mention enbies since I'm not aware if we even have any stereotypes going on for us, assigned gender at birth aside? Anyway, there's none of that bullshit either.)
Well, I may mention Greg being "papa bear" and June behaving like a mother hen but these traits aren't toxic, at least in their case. They feel very nice, and actually these two (I'm in denial S3 ending-wise, I have a fix it au in my mind OKAY) act pretty similarly in their care for the team, although they do it in different ways. Plus, I don't mind gender existing at all, only the expectations related to it being perceived as mandatory.
Everyone is written just as people, and they don't shy away from things that traditionally may be attributed to the opposite gender. I love to see - well, technically, hear - this. Please, more.
As a side note: I'd love not to pay attention to such things in general because to me people are just people as is, but in the society I live in every day gender stereotypes are still shoved in everyone's faces. In my country visibly not conforming to them is edging on committing a crime now. Plus gender socialization is still a thing, sadly, so toxic masculinity and femininity still exist and show up often enough, so I have to consider this as well. All this makes pieces of media like Arcane, TST or Syntax all the more enjoyable as they show the world the way I see it and would like it to be in reality.
#the sheridan tapes#syntax podcast#arcane#gender stereotypes#agender#I'm just so so grateful to both podcasts#they went straight to my faves right away
I am about 1 million years late to this but thank you for the tag @graphitekayla!!!
Rules: without naming them, post 10 gifs of your favorite shows, then tag 10 people. I'm definitely going to break this rule; you can't give me the opportunity to gush about my faves and not expect me to name them all!!
If anyone has followed me for any length of time none of this will be a shock lmao.
Shadowhunters, and more broadly speaking The Mortal Instruments. My first real fandom!!! I cannot overstate the impact the books and show had on my life. I wouldn't be who I am without it. I have an angelic rune tattoo. Magnus and Alec are some of the first queer characters I remember reading about. I remember where I was when they kissed for the first time in the show. You stupid nephilim lives rent free in my brain. This show (and the books) truly set up the trajectory my life is on now, and I will always always remember it fondly. Even with all the drama and discourse.
2. Critical Role, specifically C2. My first true obsession after the decade long Shadowhunters debacle. I stumbled into it to learn how to play D&D (which I now know is a controversy in and of itself lmao). But my friend @midnightellis wanted us to start a game, and I needed a way to learn that wasn't reading the books, so I started C2. It took 11 or 12 episodes, but then I fell in love. I spent the next almost year watching the entirety of C2 which culminated in visiting them to watch the finale together. I was extremely jetlagged. It was basically 8 amazing hours of nonstop crying. I have zero regrets. Except for the fact I still need to get the tattoo I had planned rip. One day!! I promise!!
3. Arcane!!!! A brief interlude between Shadowhunters and CR. There was about 4 months were I was OBSESSED and watched the entire show like 3 times back to back. I have many thoughts and feelings about Jayce. The show is also just so visually stunning. I cannot wait for S2 to drop in November!!!!!! I know nothing about League but I do really love this show.
4. House. Iconic. What else needs to be said? House is very much a comfort show for me; great to rewatch during the winter. I've watched the entire thing almost three times now, and even got my mom hooked lol. It was fun seeing all her reactions to everything before I moved.
5. If I had known what fandom was when this was airing, I truly would have been all over that shit. But I was 8 and didn't have access to the internet. Aang/Katara def my first otp lol. I did, however, ignore a friend that was over at my house to watch the finale, I believe. I definitely told them to go play so I could watch the show uninterrupted. Needless to say, they were not thrilled with that. I'm 90% sure it was the finale now, but I could be wrong about the episode. ATLA is also another comfort show that I could watch over and over again.
6. Shadow and Bone. I am still SICKENED this got canceled. Genya and David are the ultimate romance, and no one will convince me otherwise. I almost stopped reading when I found out his fate. I was devastated. Everyone in this show is also very pretty. I can't believe we won't get a s3.
I'm going to stop here because this is already long enough, and tbh I'm not sure I actually have four more shows. I can only be obsessed with one thing at a time, and the current obsession is Path of Night. And that does not seem to be waning any time soon.
Edit: Lost should 100% be on this list. I think I've watched it at least four times. My family and I watched it live as it was airing when I was a kid. And it still is one of my favorite shows. I know people got beef with the ending but I truly didn't mind it. Even if it's bad or whatever, I think Lost is still 100% worth watching. There are so many little hints and clues that I pick up something different every time, and each character death hits just as hard.
If you want to do this :)
