i feel like we dont talk enough about how distressing and disturbing memory loss issues are. forgetting what you were talking about halfway through a sentence, putting something down and instantly forgetting where you put it. having to reread one paragraph over and over again because by the time youve moved onto the next sentence you dont remember what the one before it said. always doubting if your memories of things are real, not being able to remember important life events.

its so incredibly scary, it feels like your mind is constantly playing tricks on you and you start to doubt whats real and what isnt.

“i forgot” is treated like a lazy excuse when it’s genuinely such a big issue for so many people.

why do you care about the past so much?

you should not let your past define who you are because bitch that's not who you are. you are now. literally the person who you were when you started reading this f*cking sentence is different compared to the person you will be when you finish reading this post. don't irritate me.

that's the whole point. you are new every moment. but if you sit there worrying about the past, how can you expect a brighter future? how can you expect things to go your way when you are focused on how things "didn't" work for you in the past? THEY DIDN'T WORK FOR YOU BECAUSE YOU SAID SO OMG STAND UP.

I might be tipsy but what i'm saying still stands. until you decide otherwise, your world will not change. it cannot because you haven't allowed it to.

you use the past as your identity even though you have every new moment to define who you are. it sounded crazy to me at first but it is the truth. you can decide now who you are and your world has no choice but to reflect it. decide you are seeing what you want. decide things are going your way. just f*cking decide.

at this point, it's really just giving attention wh*re. like you want us to feel bad because of this circumstance and the other when circumstances don't exist and you are already in your "new" reality. get the fuck up.

why are you letting the past dictate who you are when the past is not who you are???

i want to scream this to the rooftops because why are you acting like your world can't change when it changes with you???????

stop being weird and just accept that you have it now. you don't get brownie points for pretending like your world hasn't changed.

Got to thinking about the aftermath of the day of Danny’s accident.

Do you think at the end of the day, when there are no excited parents eagerly yammering about their life’s work finally functioning or at other thing that kept him distracted from his thoughts of what happened

That he just sat in the quiet of his room terrified?

Kid just died, kinda, and those first few minutes of relief when he turned human again must have been staggering.

Like, waking up to find yourself lacking a heartbeat, looking completely different and staring at the mirror just to find something completely other?

Do you think he was just sitting on his bed at the end of the day, gripping his chest just to make sure that he still has a heartbeat terrified of the thought of it stopping?
