Aizawa Shōta: Quirkless
Fandom: BNHA // MHA — [Masterlist]
Summary: ~1k, fluff, humour
• Being a vigilante puts you on a wanted list despite your good intentions, it’s only when Erasure Head tracks you down that your life starts to change.
Warnings: Slight spoilers
>>>>——————————>
It was easy skirting the line between good and evil, by definition you were on the fence. Technically you leaned toward the underground hero side, the only issue with what you did being the fact you didn’t have a hero licence.
That’s why they’d dubbed you a vigilante.
Naturally you’d evaded the radar quite well so far, hanging up petty criminals for the police, assisting civilians during villain attacks. Heroes hadn’t the chance to catch you since you’d disappear whilst they were distracted with villain clean up, and stealth was a specialty of yours.
However if anyone was going to hunt you down, it was going to be a fellow underground hero. Unluckily (or luckily) for you, the man to succeed was Erasure Head. He came from the shadows and wasn’t very talkative but under the shimmering stars, you engaged in battle with him, dodging his weapon and physical attacks.
“I’m not the bad guy here Erasure!”
“Yet, you’re on a wanted list.”
Then it hit you, Erasure Heads' infamous gaze befell your figure and just like that your quirk would be nullified. It was supposed to stop you, prevent you from moving the way you do by erasing your speed, agility, and strength. He’d clearly researched you.
At least, it would've. If you had a quirk.
As effortlessly as before you leapt high to dodge the attack, and whilst turning upside down during the dodge came face to face with the hero. So whilst you took a mental snapshot of his surprised expression of relaxation, he was met with a proud smirk overhead.
You landed with grace, grasping a piece of the cloth in your hand with the other readied your bo staff.
“It didn’t affect you.”
“Maybe I’m immune, or it’s a range issue?” You inquired with an upbeat tone, however even through his visor, you could see him analyse you.
“No, that’s not it.”
This time you maintain eye contact, no doubt he’d figure it out your abilities were purely products of training rather than a quirk, and since he wasn’t attacking your battle was at a stalemate. You gave a light tug on the cloth, hoping it’d encourage a reaction but it wasn’t one you expected.
"You can't keep doing this." Aizawa paused, pulling down his scarf with a slight lift of his lips. "Without a licence."
"What?" The cloth slipped from your fingers, pure shock radiating your form and if he wasn’t serious he’d have taken advantage of that. The fact he remained still and folded his arms only perplexed you further.
"I understand now, without a quirk the odds of getting into any hero course are practically zero. Without that, applying for a license becomes equally as difficult." The underground hero spoke casually, and though a degree of tension had been eased, trust was elusive.
"You work out I'm quirkless and everything comes into the light huh? Although technically, because I'm quirkless, I haven't broken any unauthorised quirk use laws." You wittily replied, and for a second you thought there was amusement but he was quick to make that.
"It was the missing piece of your puzzle."
His calming tone gave you a moment to think, gaze diverted toward the concrete of the roof as you spoke with greater sincerity.
"I hope you know even if practicing without a licence is illegal, I only wanted to help others. Hitting the pro leagues is unrealistic, but an underground hero? That was obtainable if I worked hard."
Erasure Head shoved his hands in his pockets, tilting his head slightly.
"You know, with a recommendation you can take the license exam."
"Haha, and what pro in their right mind would authenticate me? I'm a vigilante in their eyes.” You laughed mockingly, grin falling short when he stepped toward you and offered out a hand.
“I’ll do it.”
The offer was ever so kind and tempting, yet you leaned forward and inspected his palm suspiciously.
“…You’re not gonna slap some handcuffs on my wrist the second I touch your hand are you?”
“Depends if you shock me with that electric device on your palm.”
Small smiles were exchanged, hand slipping into his way far too easily.
“YO YO DID YOU GET THEM?!” The voice boomed as another joined the rooftop, the eccentric man taking in the meaningful look being shared and the still intertwined hands.
“Oho you did~”
———
“AND THATS how I wingmanned Aizawa the ultimate partner.” Mic proudly finished, far too enigmatic in his retelling of the tale to Class 2-A (who you were supposed to be assisting in combat training before Mic gatecrashed).
Meanwhile yourself and Aizawa stared deadpan at the man with a neutrality that could kill.
“Get out of my class.”
“You did not wingman at all.”
Even so, your justification didn’t nullify the awed looks of a few students, nor their cooing chatter. A few knew you were quirkless anyway, but it came as a surprise considering your combat skill. Deku in particular, Mashirao and Shinsō were dedicated students to learning your martial arts.
“That’s adorable! Y’know they worked as a team for a few years, talk about date night.” Mina joyfully told Momo and Jirō, whilst Denki commented next.
“Who knew Aizawa-Sensei was so in love? Oh wait Shinsō did you know about this?”
The student in question looked just as bored as yourself and Shōta, sparing the two of you a sympathetic glance before answering.
“Yeah, I’ve spent enough time training with them to find out.”
“So what happened next?” Uraraka questioned excitedly, the rest of the class seeming to have a similar curiosity.
“Uh, well Shōta helped me apply for a license and after that I became an official underground hero.” You awkwardly replied, only to be abruptly refuted by Mina.
“Nice try (L/n)-san, but that’s not what we’re talking about.”
“That’s—“
“Your ‘serious’ Sensei caught the feels - which were reciprocated but our two lovebirds didn’t know that - and after an explosion, a giant chicken, and a kiss, the rest is history.”
“Mic.”
“When you put it like that, it sounds so strange.” You hummed thoughtfully, recalling the memory yourself and naturally it sparked questions.
“You can’t leave us hanging like that!” Denki cried, urging Present Mic for further information but alas Shōta intervened by gently sending his best friend on his way.
“Alrighty, it was solemn evening in—“
“Out! You all start sparring else I’ll expel you!”
Watching as the class hurriedly partnered up to spar, Aizawa readjusted his scarf when rejoining your side with a huff escaping him.
“He missed out the egg.”
The offhanded additions of Shōta caught you off guard but you laughed regardless, playfully slapping his shoulder.
“Oh yeah, that was my favourite part.” Despite the bemusement, he flicked to you with a challenging raised brow - and quickly you amended your statement. “Aside from the kiss of course.”
“Sure, vigilante.”

When Keir Starmer was asked if cutting off water and supplies are actions that fall within international law, he said on live radio that Israel “does have that right”. Then, his party claimed he never said this at all. When Starmer said that Labour would not recognise Palestine unilaterally, his own shadow foreign secretary, David Lammy, told the Financial Times that Labour would consider it. Nowhere are these contradictions clearer than when politicians express unequivocal support for Israel’s actions while also expressing concern for civilians in Gaza. In a post on X, Lisa Nandy, the shadow international development secretary, appeared to support the suspension of funds to UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, because “allegations this serious demand a serious response”, while also “seeking reassurances” from the prime minister that aid could still be provided. I had to read her statement several times to try to understand what she was getting at. Meanwhile, David Cameron said he was “worried” that Israel may have broken international law, but that this did not change the UK’s stance on exporting weapons to Israel. Riddle me that. You might call this tendency Schrödinger’s policy. The US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, said that 7 October could not be taken as licence to “dehumanise” others, but his government chose twice to invoke the right to bypass Congress and provide more weapons to Israel. This dissonance is a product of attempting to reconcile an irreconcilable position. The facts are simply too stark for anyone to confront them while plausibly continuing to support Israel’s actions in Gaza. So politicians instead resort to contradictory and sometimes wild explanations to avoid calling out these actions or demanding that anything should be done about them. The results border on derangement, such as when Nancy Pelosi told CNN that while some protesters are “spontaneous and organic and sincere”, calling for a ceasefire means giving voice to “Mr Putin’s message”. And if that wasn’t enough, last year, she told pro-Palestine protesters to go back to China, as that’s where “their headquarters is”.
[...]
Gaza has become the expression of a legitimacy crisis for an Anglo-American political class who preside over already fragile systems that deliver less and less to their populations, and whose main offering is that the alternative is worse. Things may look stable, but underneath lurk managed discontents about costs of living, diminished social mobility and the ravages wreaked by rightwing governments to which centrists provide no real answer.

This is a tired thought, but quite frankly this generation has an issue with thinking being a minority somehow makes you more morally pure. Somehow you can't be biased or some kind of -ism if you're disabled or queer or mentally ill, etc. To the point of that it's extreme. Had a discussion a few weeks ago in my professional ethics class where we discussed the two psychologists who made the CIA interrogation methods post 9/11 (and of course lost their licences when it came to light).
A girl tried to insist that the APA updating their code to be more strict after this was "because they want to make money and cover their ass" (very conspiracy theory and not how things like the APA work), but also insisted the reason why these two men did what they did (and thought they'd get away with it) was BECAUSE they were "cishet abled white men", totally ignoring the fact that they were payed several million dollars each and had CIA backing, why would they care about professional backlash after? But no, to her the only reason why they did it was because they weren't a visible minority. And clearly no minority person would break their sworn professional code of ethics for basically a billion dollars and CIA protection.
Being a good person is a choice, not innate. And also, quite frankly I think this is why the pro-Pal leftists are so insistent on claiming Zionists/Israelis are "white/cishet/etc" because they've made an enemy group in their mind and it's so easy to "us vs them".

Ahoj čumblre a tumblre a všichni,
Tyhle lidi to NEJEN celý preložili, taky to celý dotáhli, nacvičili koupili licenci a teď to JDE DO DIVADLA!

If the bats are quirkless, maybe you could have it as Bruce purposefully takes in orphans that are quirkless to train them. With exception of duke ofc
see the issue with that is in the my hero universe pro hero is a profession you know something you go to school to do you have to get a licence something highly regulated which means if bruce is a pro hero he wouldn't be able to just scoop up random children and teens and make them sidekicks they'd need to have atleast a provisional licence - but then you could say well bruce wouldn't be a pro hero he'd be a unsanctioned vigilante but in a world were hero's are allowed it means vigilantes are even more scrutinised Bruce wouldn't only be fighting villains but pro hero's and bringing teens into that would be even more scrutinised
#ask#archergirl-101#oh i love how hero society is set up in my hero#its really messy when you try to put classic comic characters into it#even how sidekicks function in my hero

Bonjour! The green owl is currently teaching me the French school system and I'm so confused. What is the secondale and troisieme? And when is le terminale? And there is also a lycee pro? What is what??
Hello!
Here is the post about the different sections.
When you graduate collège (age 15), you can choose between:
lycée général where you are studying full time (basic Seconde then 5/6 mandatory classes + 3 then 2 mandatory options + up to 2 additional options) to get a baccalauréat général in three years, then typically move on to bachelors/possibly masters (or BTS in two years if you want to get to work faster as an optician, dietician, insurance advisor, editor...)
lycée technologique with a basic Seconde then you specialise for two years - then can get a BTS, BUT (technological bachelors), maybe move on to a licence pro (third year of a professionalising bachelors degree) in design, lab stuff, applied arts, agriculture, sustainable development, food industry...
lycée professionnel, where you either study full time (regular and professional subjects) or study and work in "apprentissage" in trades, food, beauty... either for two years so you can get a CAP - that you could follow with a BP in two years, OR for three to finish high school and get a bac pro.
Hope this helps! x

"Canadian shoppers may be more willing to admit that they've stolen from grocery stores lately, whether in defiance of corporate greedflation or out of sheer necessity amid an only partially-explicable spike in food prices, but the fact remains that shoplifting is illegal — and landing a charge could spell big, big trouble.
But it doesn't necessarily have to ruin your life, according to one local legal professional who will defend anyone arrested for stealing food from grocery stores pro bono (as in for free) right now.
Licenced paralegal Frank Alfano, whose firm represents people all over the Greater Toronto Area, published an Instagram post earlier this week that is as much of a public service announcement as it is an advertisement for people seeking legal help.
"Criminal convictions have many serious consequences such as jail time, a criminal record, not being able to travel to America, not being able to get some jobs and more," reads the caption of that post.
"We understand that it is difficult to deal with criminal charges by yourself... We offer legal services for criminal offence summary convictions as regulated by law society of Ontario. To qualify for free representation this must be your first offence, the value of the goods must be less than $5,000, and it should be in the GTA area."
The post displays an image of someone stealing food with the text: "You do not deserve a criminal record because you wanted to feed yourself or your family!" — a sentiment Alfano believes in strongly."

»GET://NOISE« WORKING WITH RI47 HEAVY INDUSTRIES FOR PROFIT AND UNPROFIT
so, I do feel like I should clarify my actual policy on using my tracks in projects. I do this every now and again, but to be fair, circumstances change pretty often
these aren't blanket licences or anything because honestly a few of these are like... complicated enough that it's literally easier to just talk to someone after the conditions are met and give them permission in writing. in nearly every single case, the first step is "contact me directly and we'll make things work"
if you're working on a project to raise money for Palestinian aid, I am especially interested in working with you. of course, I will be checking to make sure the money is actually going to help the people it's supposed to, as I'm unfortunately aware of how many people are trying to take advantage of these tragedies for their own benefit
a case-by-case reference with slightly more detail is included below
-
if you want to download Ri47 music to listen to but can't afford it... legally, I care that you pirate my music. personally, never tell me about it. I don't want to see that, I'm not signed to a label that seeks out uses of my music, and I understand that the international economy is in shambles. ideologically, I am pro-piracy. don't do anything that will legally force me to care (using my work in a commercial project without permission, for example) and we'll both keep on living our lives as we were
if you want to remix a Ri47 track and need stems… I don't have the stems either. I'm bad at recordkeeping, tune my samples by ear, and primarily do my own last pass of mixing in audacity. I might have some stems kicking around, but the odds are that I'm as empty-handed as you are. sorry about that lol
if you want to use a Ri47 song in your freeware (read: not for sale) project... that's probably fine. contact me first, not because I'm going to spring a fee on you, but because a few of my songs are already licensed out to projects that make it a little more challenging to hand them out. this is mostly applicable if you're making rpgmaker games you don't intend on selling
if you want to use a Ri47 song in your small-scale commercial project... if you're making a promo video for a stream, need music for a podcast, or anything like that, contact me first. in almost every case, as long as what you're making isn't a persistent standalone work (read: something you are selling directly, with my music as part of the package) the most I'll usually ask is that you buy one copy of the album
if you want to use a Ri47 song in a more serious commercial project... you can contact me directly to get a licence. I usually don't work on royalties unless you are selling a product that I'd consider "reselling" my work (read: an OST album or other primarily audio-based product) and I'm happy to work with people to find a deal that works for them
if you want to use a Ri47 song in a project that is intended to raise funds for a not-for-profit charity, especially in providing aid to Palestine… the freeware conditions apply. let me know about your plans beforehand, because I almost certainly want to be more directly involved, but there are very few cases where I would say no to this sort of thing
if you need original music or sound design done by Ri47... I'm booked out about a year or so in advance, so I can't promise I can actually join a team actively, but this is extremely contextual. if you need some UI sounds or a handful of piano pieces to feature in a project, I'm much more likely to find time for that
if you want me to feature on an album or compilation, whether that be contributing a song or remixing one that you provide… contact me and let's talk. this one's the most complicated conditions-wise, but I don't bite
the bottom line being... I work within all budgets and project scopes. even if you think the answer is no, drop me a line and you might be surprised. if you're unsure, I'll happily help you figure out what exactly you need. it's easier than taxes!

Re: your tags on that post about ADHD: if it helps, this is like, my exact experience and I got diagnosed with ADHD recently. The "sat in front of an assignment I am capable of producing Something for but not doing it for hours, even though there is external pressure on me" happened to me, repeatedly, and in my last year of highschool it even had me crying on an almost weekly basis. That's what got me to fail the last semester of my licence last year, also. If it's bothering you and you're in a position to, I'd recommend getting an appointment with a specialist to check & so they can help (and if you have options, not an older guy, they're the most likely to tell you that if you weren't a hyperactive boy well you must be fine, which. Okay. Well I'm not.) I had to wait maybe like six months for an appointment at a public hospital, mais hey grâce à la sécu c'était gratuit and the lady was very helpful. In any case, I'm shaking your hand metaphorically. Me too 😔
yeah i might do that at some point but i've had pretty bad experiences with mental health care in general and specifically the people i mentioned possibly having adhd to. like.
