also lol: very disturbing that this website celebrates vigilante killings as matters of course. you wouldn't last 5 seconds in kira's world and also you've missed the point of death note which was that taking vengeance into your own hands is a slippery slope that wakes up the secret amoral serial killer with a god complex inside you just as soon as you start justifying random things to yourself and thinking you can get away with it

unfortunately despite all of the actual issues i have with hamilton it's still one of my favorite musicals ever. everything about it makes me so so crazy i can't even put it into words.
#emyrs.txt#hamilton#like there's a reason it was popular you know.#i rewatched the pro shoot and. GOD.#the choreography the costuming the music the lyrics. everything about it as a piece of art is so painstakingly done.#also just as a piece of like. history. idk. it's so reflective of the obama administration. such a product of its time.#remember when the pro shoot got released in 2020 and everyone had a Take about how outdated and regressive it was?#and like. they weren't wrong necessarily. i do have a lot of issues specifically w the way slavery is treated in the musical. and for that#matter. the way women are treated in it.#like it's such a white feminist and liberalist musical indicative of the mid 2010s. AND YET.#it still changed musical theater and made an effort to make a space (BOTH behind the scenes and in the actors hired) for poc#do you even understand how revolutionary it was to be on the eve of the first trump presidency and see a musical where ALL the main#characters were people of color. do you even understand how that felt.#where's that quote from leslie odom jr where he says. christopher jackson walks out & tells u he's george washington & u don't question it.#sorry i have like. a million & one thoughts on this musical & on all the songs & on the impact it had & LMM in general but like.#it truly is almost 6 am and i need to sleep. but REST ASSURED. i WILL be talking more about hamilton later. not a threat but a promise

looking back on it, I genuinely don't think the loonaverse is as complicated as Jaden and a lot of the theorist thought it was
Yeah and it's kind of embarrassing how much time I spent on it in retrospect. Something I talked about before. Though I am/was an avid reader of Jaden's blog and I know he knew about some complex ideas and he very intentionally wanted to inject those into the loonaverse (mainly audio technology, some heavy parts about LGBT, and collectivism), so I also don't think it's as surface level as people want to retroactively say out of bitterness - which tbh I do feel the urge to do a lot.
#the like... vaguely leftist stuff is just so funny because#its such a superficial liberalist critique especially in an industry where he's literally pioneering the push of hyperconsumption#more more more access to the image of a person. its uncomfortable

A Neo-liberalistic Nihilistic Manifesto
Economic Policy meets Existential Despair
In this grim guide, we'll delve into the depths of neoliberalistic nihilism and explore the realities of navigating the market-driven hellscape. In this journey through the corners of capitalism, where the only certainty is uncertainty, and the only currency is cold, hard cash. History? A meaningless series of market fluctuations. Morality? A subjective construct hindering your consumption choices. Truth? Fungible and for sale to the highest bidder.
Step 1: Embrace the Market Abyss
In this wild west of capitalism, the invisible hand of the market reigns supreme, guiding through the chaos of supply and demand like a blindfolded stumbling through a minefield. Forget about regulations or ethical dilemmas – profit is the only compass you need. The market will definitely reward your...gestures vaguely...audacity with untold riches (or bankruptcy, but hey, it's all meaningless anyway). But in this world, failure is but a temporary setback, a stepping stone on the path to greater success. After all, what does it matter if we lose it all, if the game is all that matters?
Step 2: Find Meaning in Materialism
In this world devoid of inherent meaning, material possessions become our gods. So go ahead, splurge on that designer handbag or the latest iPhone – they're the closest thing to existential fulfilment money can buy. With each purchase, we are not only filling the void within, but also contributing to the great capitalist machine that powers our world. And in doing so, we are becoming the ultimate consumers, the apex predators of the consumerist jungle. Just ignore the sense of emptiness that creeps in when you realize that no amount of consumerism can fill the void within. So why not treat yourself to that dopamine rush you get from scoring those limited-edition drops? It's basically the same feeling as finding true happiness, only slightly less sustainable and much more expensive.
Step 3: Exploit, Exploit, Exploit
In the pursuit of profit, nothing is off-limits. Exploit cheap labor in developing countries? Check. Dodge taxes like a like a ship vanishing into fog? Double check. Destroy the environment faster than you can say "climate change is real"? Triple check. In the grand scheme of things, morals are just roadblocks on the way to wealth. "This all sounds so...unethical." And you're right. It is. But in the world of business, morals are just a luxury that only the weak can afford. So, if you want to make it to the top, you'd better be prepared to leave your conscience at the door. Who needs a clear conscience when you have a yacht? Or a private jet? Or a mansion on a hill?
Step 4: Rinse and Repeat
Congratulations, you're now a card-carrying member of the neoliberalistic nihilist club! But remember, the journey is never truly over. As you navigate the waters of late-stage capitalism, always keep one eye on the bottom line and the other on the abyss. Who knows, maybe one day you'll achieve true enlightenment – or at least a slightly bigger offshore bank account. Perhaps we will find the freedom we so desperately crave – or perhaps, more likely, we will find nothing at all.
Step 5: Await the End
Now all that remains is to await the inevitable collapse – the final unraveling of civilization as we know it. Embrace the pain, the anguish, the existential despair – for in the depths of suffering lies the only semblance of truth we will ever know. Let it wash over you like a tidal wave, drowning out the hollow echoes of consumerism and capitalist excess. For in the end, it is our suffering that defines us – not our fleeting moments of happiness or success.
Disclaimer: This is Satire. Repeat: "There is only the market, and the market is good..." (except when it isn't, but hey, that's the thrill of the gamble, right?).

I really think society as a whole needs to work on better deradicalization strategies. So far the one that works best for me is "relate [unreasonable hatred] to [thing you both don't like]", sort of like how conflict management works. It's not you vs me, it's you and me vs the problem. If you've got better ideas/strategies/studies drop em lol
#for me this has mostly manifested as telling conservatives in my life who are on the fence abt trans issues#that the 'femin*zis' and memey red haired w*mbyn f*minists they used to see memes about and hate so bad today#are actually rampant tr*nsphobes and t*rfs#and then relate how ridiculous being anti trans is to how ridiculous those memes used to be#like obviously its Not Great Optics but i think leftism as a whole has too much liberalist focus on Saying The Right Things#over Doing The Right Things#if i have to drop a mild slur or play into conservative rhetoric or gross trigger humor to get my point across#if i have a shot to actually potentially deradicalize someone i care about#then i will lol. theres really nothing more to it than that#im of course saying this on the Completely Misinterpret A Mild Potentially Offensive Political Post website#so i am definitely expecting a random amount of the dumbest clowning on earth ahead of time#words censored to avoid showing up in tags r*dfems get blocked etc etc

My "cyberpunk" story is written over 100 years from now in the world after all this shit burns itself out & people have mostly picked up the pieces, precisely because of this. There's no way to write about "where we're going", so I gotta write about "what happens after we get there" instead.

it's impossible to write cyberpunk fiction any more

UNI TEACHER AU TIME LETS GOOOOO
wilbur
long time teacher at SMP, attended as a student back in the day, teaches political history and Econ in that specific order (in a marxist way)
is half the reason the campus still has a smoking lounge
has dated a fifth of the staff
sits backwards on chairs
peaked in uni (collage, for the Americans)
buys weed from his students, used to sell it back in his glory days
running for dean
calls in sick to half his classes
hosts the debate club
infuriating to debate, informative and hilarious to watch debate
sleeps in his tiny little office (he is very proud that he got upgraded from a cubicle, holds it against everybody else)
supervises degrees, the quality of his advice is entirely dependant on if he likes you or not
will make you buy his books to take his course
Quackity
recently hired by SMP, teaches Econ, and political history in that specific order (in a liberalist way)
the other half of the reason the campus still has a smoking lounge
has a mysterious past (he was a party boy in uni)
theres a betting pool on which party he votes for
confiscates students weed, which promptly disappears from the record
would rather die than supervise a degree
still supervises degrees for his favourite students
subs in when Wilbur takes a sick day
is the main reason wilbur starts showing up more, since Wilbur doesn't want him corrupting the minds of the youth
teaches Wilbur's classes for a whole semester when Wilbur goes to the UK to teach a course (academic hell/limbo)
spent every class first reading what Wilbur wrote, then explaining why it's wrong and debating Wilbur's inanimate notes
will also make you buy his books to take his course
once wilbur is back, he figures out what Quackity had been doing and attempts to teach his Econ class so he can do the same thing
they're forced to teach a course together, which actually works very well for the students, and attendance skyrockets both for the students and Wilbur
by the end of the semester they're sexting in the google docs notes <3
please give me your thoughts and add ons

Playing disco Elysium when you're as stupid as I am is so fun. Like buddy I don't know what tf you just said but when I responded with the option that sounded less mean I got a point for ultra liberalist and Kim liked me so I think I did good????
No I don't understand the political statement you just made but I Am aware it was a political statement so I feel smart now.
I'm a sorry cop. I mean I'm sorry but I can't be mean okay? I don't even know why the mean options are mean because I don't fucking understand half the words in there. Glad this game has voice acting because it would take me 9 years to read what you just said.

I am sick of the liberalistic mind virus that has been spreading around, especially in the US and western europe. The bastions of civilization is being torn apart infront of the very people that built it. The faggotry, the degeneracy, multiculturalism and other such cases have been normalized by the upmost richest and godless of people;
The capitalist menace and their equally greedy and godless protectors.
They know the danger of imposing such values to their own countrymen are, for they are traitors. No capitalist or landlophile would engage in such acts, it has never been documented.
One day traditions will be reestablished by the labourers, it is necessary for someone to sacrifice themself for thier people's ecenomic and traditional rights. It is necessary for someone to die. Death.
Let the lords eat until they vomit, let their servants latch onto them like parasite-to-parasite.
What they ignore is that they will either be consumed by their disguised values or the God's people will smite them down themselves.
Hail cob, cob, cob, and it's son.

I continue to be confumed by the concept that Jon Oliver from last week tonight is not a "full on leftist" when I had watched every single one of his episodes and I can't think of a single time when he been even remotely on the side of the right or even in the center.
Well you, see, he packages leftist ideals in a way that sways centrists and liberalists further left, and that is treachery because we want as few people on the left as possible to underscore how special we are.

I feel like we’re living in some kind of dystopian nightmare, what the fuck is going on?
Can’t believe people are comfortably wishing death upon others and actively find peace in a cult-like mindset. Where everyone must adhere to your belief and your belief only.
I have never, and would never, judge anybody on their opinions and beliefs (with the rare exception of the extremes), because to me that doesn’t make the person. I have friends of all political backgrounds and I don’t care about what their views are. I judge people on the content of their character.
I happen to not subscribe to absolutely everything the left push, but I’m not out here trying to make people’s lives miserable. I have never and will never go out of my way to attack anyone based on that fact.
Everyone should have the ability to live their lives how they want it, as long as they’re not directly and intentionally causing harm and injury to others.
If we want to put a name on it, I guess I’m a traditional liberalist. At the end of the day, my beliefs are rooted in my country’s (the UK) issues, not anywhere else’s.
Do with that what you will but I’m not willing to sit here and be called disgusting and every phobia and ist under the sun when I, and everyone who has ever talked to me one on one and met me, knows that is just not an accurate description of me as a person.
So if anyone wants to have a pop, and actually ask me genuine questions, do it. Just don’t lower yourself by resorting to name calling and personal attacks. That’s where you automatically lose a fight that doesn’t exist, for both yourself and what you believe in.

Ok so I have watched multiple videos on the history of Israel - Palestine and honestly? Go Israel.
The only thing I am not able to understand is, why is the whole world in the support of Palestine? Even Tumblr? (Yes the death of innocent people is bad but it's happening on both sides, why are they pretending that everyone in Israel lives in idk, rocket-proof luxury rooms?)
And people are purchasing books on history of Israel - Palestine, and still violently supporting Palestine. And not even seeing a shread of "blame" on them? :(
This is just an observation, but wherever muslims are in majority, they won't let the minority in peace, no matter what — they're not the “peaceful” community the world tries to show them as.
There is whole history on how they are ruthless, tyrants, who can not accept let alone tolerate another religion in their proximity.
I JUST don't know what will it take for the world to see the actual history and stop viewing Israel like The Evil Nation.
That’s a good question, but a very difficult one to answer.
As you’ve said, the information is out there in the open, available to anyone willing to put in the time to read and understand.
However, it takes a lot of mental effort to wrap one’s mind around the historical and geopolitical nuances of this conflict. As a result, it’s definitely less of a mental burden to get information from reading headlines, reading tweets, and watching TikToks.
Of course the information isn’t always accurate, and if someone absorbs news from these sites that all have the same bias, they’ll be inclined to think a certain way. But even still, it’s digestible, and why put in the work to make informed opinions of the subject when these smaller, bite-sized pieces of info are being spoon-fed to you easily?
You can tell people to “educate themselves”until the cows come home, but the chances of them actually going to read up more are pretty slim. After all, it’s more comfortable and safe to maintain your opinion than actively seek out information that challenges your point of view.
That aside, I think the Israel-Palestine conflict in particular has elicited, or rather, uncovered a very worrying hypocrisy and double-standard, and caused a rise in antisemitism that’s alarmingly reminiscent of 1940s Europe.
Those who support Hamas claim to be on the side of “human rights” and “protecting the innocent”, yet turn a blind eye to or rejoice at the slaughter of innocent children.
They present this issue as intersectional with other liberalist movements such as feminism and LGBTQ+ rights, yet Hamas rapes and parades the naked bodies of women around to publicly humiliate them, and calls the LGBT community “sinners” that will be “punished by Allah”, and refuses to allow any LGBT person on Palestinian soil.
Yes, it is baffling to see people defend a terrorist group that has such fundamentally incompatible ideologies with them, and would kill them on sight. Normally I wouldn’t just tell them to go to Palestine if they like it so much, but if they can’t see the irrationality of their own beliefs themselves, if they can’t see that their parroted platitudes are of no use and don’t make them immune or exempt from the hate-filled violence of Hamas, then maybe going there to see for themselves is perhaps the only solution.
So maybe there isn’t anything that can be done, unfortunately. It’s very telling that many pro-Israel accounts are sent hate mail daily, and instead of being presented with the opportunity for discourse on the complicated subject, it’s just crusty anons calling for the end of Israel and telling them to kill themselves for supporting Israel.
If someone calls for your death, then there’s little to nothing that can be done anymore to have a rational discussion. All you can do is stay safe and stay informed, and don’t stoop to their level because they’ll use that as ammunition against you to justify calling for your death.
