Another long anon under the cut.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aside from the fact that you seem to be trying to educate me about my own culture, you really are a fool, aren't you?
Yes, respect is important. And yes, it is not good manners to pick a fight with someone. However, there is that small bit you decided to highlight. Shall I say it louder for those in the back?
"Respecting the feelings of whoever is being spoken to."
That goes to say the same should be expected from this hypothetical female character too. If she was not respecting their feelings, why should she expect them to respect her back?
And for the Chinese OCs in question, here is how they would react.
Haoyu would not like it if she disrespects his feelings and would definitely talk back to her about it. If she won't show him respect, then he is not showing her any respect too. He does not see why she thinks this is okay to do.
Hui Jin is upset by this. He does not think the girl had the right to disrespect him for a joke. It is not funny to him, so he will react accordingly. He would tell her that she is being disrespectful and that he will not tolerate that.
Jian-Yu would be put off by the disrespect he is receiving and start judging this girl for it. He does not see why he should have to put up with his feelings being disrespected like this. If she has the audacity to tell him that he needs to respect her feelings, he will laugh at her and say "that's a funny joke. Funny, because you didn't do that for me. Why should I respect you?"
Jiao-Long is upset with it. He does not think he did anything to deserve to have his feelings just disrespected like this. He would likely start avoiding her. If he has to spend time around her, he makes sure someone else is with him. He refuses to deal with her alone.
Kunming does not like that she disrespected his feelings like this. He is more than willing to just throw hands with her. Whenever he sees her again in the future, he just turns the other way and ignores her. He makes sure to drop hints for other people to know that this girl was not so nice.
Li Feng shrinks into himself. He first questions if it is his fault. Then he will ask other people for their opinion on it. Finally, he concludes that this girl was being disrespectful towards him, and that he does not have to accept that. He would judge her from a distance whenever he sees her from that point on.
Longwei is baffled that someone would be mean to him for no reason. Oh? It was a joke? Haha. He does not find that funny. As someone who had been bullied before, Longwei will not just let her get away with it. He would confront her about it and make sure she understands exactly how he feels about her now, and he is not going to be nice about it.
Shen is upset and kind of wants to cry, but he doesn't. He tells the girl that she should try being nicer. If she won't change her attitude, then he will not talk to her anymore. He will ignore her if she tries to talk to him.
Shi Yin is annoyed by this, and he tells her that she was being disrespectful flat out. He also tells her that he will not be speaking to her again from that point on. If she refuses to respect him, he will not respect her.
Xiaoshi is not going to go easy on her. He starts out by telling her that he thinks she is a terrible person for not respecting his feelings. Why should he respect her if she is just going to treat him like trash? That is not something he will just accept.
Xinyi just begins avoiding her like she is the plague. He does not want to speak to someone who disrespected his feelings. He has no obligation to. If he has to see her again, he avoids looking at her directly and only speaks to her when someone else does.
Xue Long is not pleased with this. He has had plenty of experience with people disrespecting his feelings, and he has become more guarded as a result. This girl had said/done something that hurt him, so he is more cautious around her. He remembers what he has been taught, but this person did not respect him. He gives her judgmental looks any time she tries to speak to him.
YunLong would just sigh and tell her that she is not a good person for being so disrespectful. He would say he would like to be nice, but it does not seem like she deserves it. Whenever he sees her after this point, he makes sure to remind her of her actions and that she needs to change that if she wants his respect.
Zixuan looks at her differently from that point on. His feelings were just disrespected after all. "Treat people the way you want to be treated", he has heard people say. Since this girl was treating him disrespectfully, then he will not be nice to her. He ignores her as much as possible.

The most versatile of accessories, a fan can be:
-A fashion statement for the discerning gentleman
-A sign that you're a gentleman and the person talking to you is a pleb
-A way to whack people on the head when they do something stupid
-Something to hide behind when a sleeve is too conspicuous
-A weapon (????)
Oh, and I guess it can keep you cool as well if you want to be boring.
Write-ins, propaganda, and images are welcome!

Biography of Liu Yilong (WS097)
So-called Emperor Wen of Song. With a focus on his failed wars and one very unfilial son.
(Interestingly, the "five fingers" detail is not in the Songshu that I could find, but is included in the Nanshi.)
Liang and others installed Yifu's younger brother, the Inspector of Jing province, Yilong, and titled the year Yuanjia [“Inaugural Excellence”]. He dispatched envoy Zhao Daosheng to court with tribute.
2nd Year [425 AD], Xu Xianzhi, Fu Liang, and others returned the government to Yilong. He did not allow it.
3rd Year [426 AD], Yilong trusted the words of his Attendant-at-Centre, Wang Hua, and executed Xianzhi and Fu Liang. He dispatched his general Tan Daoji and others to chastise the Inspector of Jing province, Xie Hui. Hui led a multitude down east, planning to depose Yilong while using chastising Wang Hua as his explanation. He routed Yilong's general Dao Yanzhi. When they heard that Daoji was about to arrive, Hui's multitudes ruptured and scattered. Hui fled to Jiangling, and then brought along his younger brother Dun and others to flee north. When he arrived at Yantou in Anling, he was seized by the Defence Master, Guang Shunzhi, and beheaded at Jianye.
8th Month [18 September – 16 October]. Yilong sent his General Within the Hall, Ji Heng, to court with tribute.
2nd Year of Shenjia [429 AD], he again discarding the General Within the Hall, Sun Hengzhi, to court with tribute.
3rd Year [430 AD], he again dispatched the General Within the Hall, Tian Qi, to court with tribute.
Soon after he dispatched his General of the Right, Dao Yanzhi, General who Calms the North, Wang Zhongde, and Inspector of Yan province, Zhu Lingxiu, with a navy to enter the He, and the General of Valiant Cavalry, Duan Heng, to rob Hulao. He also dispatched his Inspector of Yu province, Liu Dewu, and General of the Rear, the King of Changsha, Yixin, to reach Pengcheng and be rear support. Dao Yanzhi robbed Que'ao, and divided off an army towards Hulao and Luoyang. Shizu decreed the various armies south of the He to assemble the multitudes and cross north to make him arrogant. Soon after he decreed the General of the Best of the Army, An Jie, and others, to lead a multitude and cross from Mengjin to attack Jinyong. Yilong's General who Establishes the Martial, Du Ji, set out and fled. Thereupon he exploited the victory to advance and attack Hulao. He captured it and beheaded their Inspector of Si Province, Yin Chong. Shusun Jian greatly routed Zhu Lingxiu, and pursued him until Hulu.
4th Year [431 AD], Jie attacked Huatai. Yanzhi, together with Wang Zhongde and others, burnt his ships and cast of his armour, and fled back to Pengcheng. Yilong again dispatched Tan Daoji to relieve Huatai. Shusun Jian and Zhangsun Daosheng struck him. Daoji arrived at Gaoliang Mountain. Jie and others attacked and overcame Huatai, and apprehended his Central Gentleman Assisting Affairs to the Minister over the Masses, Zhu Xiuzhi. Daoji ran and fled to Licheng, and during the night then escaped and turned back. Yilong's Inspector of Qing province, Xiao Sihua, also abandoned the garrison and ran to Pingchang. His stored up grain at Dongyang was burned by the hundred families.
1st Year of Yanhe, 5th Month [14 June – 13 July 432], Yilong again dispatched Zhao Daosheng to court with tribute.
2nd Year, 2nd Month [7 March – 5 April 433], decreed the Combined Cavalier Regular Attendant Song Xuan as envoy to Yilong, and moreover to make a marriage agreement for the August Heir-Apparent.

2nd Year of Taiyan, 3rd Month [2 April – 1 May 436], Yilong dispatched as envoy Hui Yuanshao to court with tribute.
Yilong dreaded his Minister of Works, Tan Daoji, and thereupon executed him. When Daoji was approaching death, he took off his head-scarf and threw it on the ground, saying:
So then falls our ten thousand li Long Wall.

3rd Year [442 AD], Shizu decreed the King of Langye, Sima Chuzhi, and others chastise him. The General who Calms the West, Gu Bi, the General who Pacifies the West, Yuan Ji, and others intercepted Yilong's Inspector of Qin province, Hu Chongzhi, at Zhuo River. They routed and seized him, his remnant multitudes ran to Hanzhong. Yilong installed Nandang's older brother's son Wende as Inspector of Qin province and King of Wudu. He made a defence post at Qielu. Bi and others chastised and pacified him. Yilong thereupon killed Zhendao and Fangming.
5th Year [444 AD], Yilong resumed dispatching envoys to court with tribute.
6th Year [445 AD], his Outer Staff Cavalier Attendant Gentleman Kong Xixian, though talented and learned, was not being employed. The Intendant of Affairs to the Heir-Apparent, Fan Ye, since his family was unrestrained and foul, was scorned by his generation. He, together with Xixian and his nephew Xie Zong, planned to kill Yilong and install his younger brother, the former Great General Yikang. The Governor of Danyang, Xu Zhanzhi reported it. He therefore executed Ye and others, and moved Yikang to Ancheng commandery, with a Steering Clerk to oversee and guard.
7th Year [446 AD], decreed the various armies to plunder Jiyin and Jinxiang and others, seven counties, and also chase away their Qing and Ji provinces people and households, and then turn back. A native of Beidi, Gai Wu, assembled a multitude in rebellion. Yilong used Wu as General who Calms the West and Inspector of Yong province, and ennobled him Duke of Beidi, calculating he would make chaos in Yong province. Decreed the various armies to chastise and pacify him.
Yilong was fond of acting on small plan and inciting the border people. Inside he erected mountain parks. [They?] were endlessly extravagant and extremely beautiful. The labour was put on the hundred families, South of the Jiang suffered from it.

11th Year, 2nd Month [28 February – 28 March 450], Shizu wished to hunt at Yunmeng, and issued out envoys to inform Yilong that he must not be suspicious or obstructive. He allotted and dispatched envoys to calm and comfort the surrendered people, those who did not submit he executed and slaughtered. Yilong's Grand Wardens of Runan, Nandun, Ruyang, and Yingchuan all abandoned their cities to run and flee. Yilong's General who Calms the North, the King of Wuling, Jun, dispatched the Army Advisers Liu Taizhi and Zang Zhaozhi, the Generals within the Hall, Yin Huaiyi and Cheng Tianzuo, and others with more than 1 000 cavalry to arrive arrive at Ruyang. The Inspector of Qing and Ji provinces, Xiao Bin, with his cavalry advanced on both water nad land. Leader of the Guards of the Left to the Heir-Apparent, Zang Zhi controlled the General of Valiant Cavalry, Wang Fanghui, the Marshal who Calms the Man, Liu Kangzu, and the Army Advisor of the Right Army, Liang Tan, to aim for Xu and Luo. The General of the Right and Inspector of Yu province, the King of Nanping, Shuo, […] . The Grand Commandant, the King of Jiangxia, Yigong had authority over the various armies. The Inspector of Liang# and Nanqin provinces, Liu Xiuzhi controlled the General Who Assists the State, Yang Wende, and the General who Proclaims Power, Liu Hongzong towards Qian and Long. The General who Protects the Army, Xiao Sihua managed the Dragon-Prancing General, Du Tan, and the Grand Warden of Jingling, Liu Deyuan, towards Wu Pass. Yilong ordered the kings and nobles, consorts and princesses, and his court gentlemen, shepherds and wardens extending down to wealthy people to fully send out their private riches to help with army expenditure. Gentlemen and commoners resented it. Nanyan, Qing, Ji, Yan, Yu, and San Wu selectively sent out, to match military action. Yang, Nanxu, Yan, and Jiang provinces all divided off one out of four. The Marshal who Establishes Power, Shen Yuanji, hastened to Sidu, and Xiao Bin arrived at Que'ao. Wang Xuanmo dispatched the Army Master Wang Baohui to attack Huatai. The Right Army Xiao Shuo [sic.] dispatched the Army Advisor of the Centre Troops, Liang Tan, and others to advance the army to Xiaosuo.
Shizu decreed the various armies to aid Huatai, and greatly defeated Wang Baohui and others. Wang Xuanmo fled back to Que'ao. Xiao Bin dispatched Shen Tan, together with Liang Tan and Yuan Huzhi, to occupy Liangdang City. Si withdrew back to Lixia. When the Chariot Drove across the He, Liang Tan withdrew and fled to Qijia Mountain. The Chariot Drove to issue out from Huatai, and passed Que'ao. Yilong again dispatched the Inspector of Yong province, the King of Jingling, Dan, to lead his generals Xue Andu, Liu Yuanjing, and others to enter Lushi, and advanced to attack Hongnong. Decreed the Inspector of Luo province, Zhang Shi, led the multitudes to cross over Yao. The Garrison Commander of Pucheng, He Nan, forded the He at Fenglingdui, and the Inspector of Qing province, Du Daosheng reached Wenxiang. Yuanjing withdrew and fled.
11th Month [29 December – 17 January 451], the Chariot Drove from Dong'an Mountain to set out for Xiapi. Yilong's Defence Master of Zoushan and Grand Warden of Luyang [sic] and Yangping, Cui Xieli, surrendered. The King of Chu, Jian, and the Marquis of Nankang, Du Daojun, advanced the army [to] Qingxi, reaching Liujian Defence Post. Yilong's Garrison Army Liu Jun's Army Adviser, Ma Wengong reached Xiaocheng. The Army Master Ji Xuanijng, reach Liucheng. Both were scouting, and on seeing the public army they altogether at the time withdrew and fled.
The King of Yongchang, Ren, attacked Xuanhu, took it, and captured Yilong's defending general, Zhao Huai. He passed by and settled Xiangcheng, routed Weiwu Defence Post, and seized its Defence Master. He advanced to attack Shouyang, stationed troops at Sunshu Ao's house, and plundered Matou and Zhongli commanderies. Yilong dispatched the General of the Left Army, Liu Kangzu, to hurry to Shouyang. He and Ren encountered each other, and Ren greatly routed him. He fully buried his multitudes, beheaded Kangzu, sending his head for display at Shouchun, and captured his generals Hu Shengzhi, Wang Luohan, and others. As for the cut off heads, he had the army soldiers drag them, going around the city three times, and piled them up west of the city, to a height uniform with the city walls. Liu Shuo therefore burned on all four sides the outer walls, huts and houses, fortified the inner walls and firmly defended.
The Chariot Drove to arrive at Xuyi, the Huai, and the Si. Yilong dispatched the General who Assists the State, Zang Zhi to lead the legions to reach Xuyu, [and?] halted the army north of the city. The Six Armies were on the bank to sail across the Huai. Zhi dispatched Marshal Hu Chongzhi and others lead his command to set up a camp upon the mountain. The General who Establishes Power, Mao Xizuo occupied [a?] city before the great bank. Decreed to attack the two armies. Beheaded Chongzhi, Xizuo, and others, the other [cut off] heads numbering several thousands. The multitudes fully hurried into the river and died. The people South of the Huai all surrendered to the various armies.
The King of Gaoliang, Na, set out for Shanyang; the King of Yongchang, Ren, set out from Shouyang for Hengjiang. Everywhere they pass through there were none who did not scatter in the wind [?]. The Chariot Drove to climb upon Guabu, cutting reed and tying rafts, and showing intentions of crossing the Jiang. Yilong was greatly afraid, and wished to flee to Wu or Kuai[ji]. In Jianye, gentlemen and women all shouldered the burdens and stood up [?]. Yilong dispatched Huang Yannian to the Acting Palace. He presented a hundred sacrificial animals, tributed the things of his region, and also requested peace and sought to advance a daughter to the august grandson. Shizu considered a marriage among the legions not decorous, he allowed peace but did not allow marriage.
Earlier, when Yilong wished to dispatch an army to invade the frontier, his subjects Jiang Zhan and Xu Zhanzhi praised his affair, but Yilong's Heir-Apparent Shao, together with Xiao Sihua and Shen Qingzhi, spoke to Yilong, saying:
Formerly, Tan Daoji and Dao Yanzhi had no success and turned around. Now the generals, leaders, and multitude soldiers do not reach to before, [we] cannot take lightly moving troops and armour.
At the time Zhan and others were present, and Yilong made them plan and discuss with Qingzhi. Qingzhi said:
Running a state is like running a family. For ploughing ask a slave, for weaving ask a servant girl. Now [you] wish to attack a state, yet are planning it with a group of pale-faced book students. In what way will the affair be achieved.
Yilong greatly laughed, and thereupon did not take in Qinghzi's words.
Reaching this point, he climbed the tall buildings of Shitou Fort and gazed out, and, with very much a mournful appearance, sighed and said:
If Tan Daoji was here, would it have come to this!
Shao then placed the blame on Jiang and Xu. Yilong said:
It was pulled from my ideas. Do not involve the two people.
1st Year of Zhengping, 1st Month [17 February – 17 March 451], Shizu hosted a banquet at Guabu, and when he had allowed peace and friendship, he decreed to turn around the legions. Those people North of the Jiang who had reverted and surrendered numbered several hundred thousand. Altogether he had overcome Nanyan, Yu, Xu, Yan, Qing, and Ji, six provinces. The amount the army spearhead[s] had killed and plundered could not be fully counted.
At the time Yilong's North of the Jiang was barren and bleak, and within his territory there was disturbances and disorder. Yilong was anxious that Yikang might make chaos, and dispatched envoys to kil him, he buried him with the rites of a marquis. Yilong was ashamed and livid, and resorted to putting the blame on his subordinates. He demoted Yigong to Ceremony Similar to the Three Ministers, and Xiao Bin and Wang Xuanmo were both dismissed from their posts.
10th Month [10 November – 8 December], Yilong dispatched his General Sun Gai and others to court with tribute.
1st Year of Xing'an [452 AD, text has “9th Year”], Yilong dispatched the General who Consoles the Army, Xiao Sihua, to lead his general Zhang Yong and others in attacking Que'ao. Decreed the various armies to strike and rout them. Yong and others withdrew and fled. Sihua dispatched the General who Establishes the Martial, Yuan Huzhi, to reach Liang Mountain and confront the army. The Master of Writing Han Mao led cavalry to confront and strike him. Sihua withdrew back to Migou. Yilong again dispatched the Inspector of Yong province, Zang Zhi, towards Yao and Shan; the Inspector of Liang# province, Liu Xiuzhi, and the General who Assists the State, Yang Wende set out for Ziwu. The Inspector of Yu province, Zhangsun Lan, dispatched cavalry to rout them. Jizhi and others only escaped with their lives. Zang Zhi, Liu Yuanjing, Xue Andu, and others reached the Passes, also were continually defeated and fled.
That Year, Yilong's Heir-Apparent Shao and the King of Shixing, Xiuming, had a sorceress, Yan Daoyu, cast a curse on Yilong. The affair came out. Yilong, rankled and abashed, lost himself, and was neglectful in government affairs [?]. He therefore discussed demoting Shao and killing Xiuming. He frequently summoned the Archer-Servant of the Masters of Writing, Xu Zhanshi, the Master of Writing of the Personell Section, Jiang Zhan, the Attendant-at-Centre, Wang Sengchuo, and others to plan and discuss. Sengchuo said:
“One who at the decisive time does not decide, instead receives the trouble.” Indeed, when desiring to cut away affection with righteousness, sketching out minor things is intolerable [?]. Otherwise, [you] readily ought to lay out your innermost feelings like before, without over-much vacillating discussions. [You] cannot make the difficulties give birth to a worries over appearance [?] and be laughed at for a thousand years.
Yilong said:
My Servant can speak of ability to decide great affairs, this one is impossible not to earnestly think thrice about. When Yikang had just died, people said I had not then the Way of compassionate fondness.
Sengchuo again said:
Your Subject fears for the descendants of a thousand years, and tells Your Majesty it is easy to cut away a younger brother, [but] difficult to depose a son.
Yilong fell silent.
Xiuming's mother Pan had favour with Yilong, and Yilong informed her of the plans for deposing and installing. Pan requested a pardon, it was not allowed, and thereupon she informed Xiuming. Xiuming hurried to report to Shao. Shao understood he himself would be deposed, and thereupon at night summoned his left and right company chiefs, Chen Shu'er, and Zhan [Shu'er], fasting leaders Zhang Chaozhi, Ren Jianzhi, and others, controlling more than 2 000 people wearing armour, to guard himself. He also summoned the Leader of Guards of the Left, Yuan Shu, the Central Retainer Yin Zhongsu, and the General of Amassed Crossbows of the Left, Wang Zhengjian, and also shouted for the Senior Clerk of the Left Army, Xiao Bin. Shao said:
The imperial court trusts slander, and [I] will be accused and deposed. After inner examination [find I] have not transgressed, and, unable to accept the injustice, [I] next will enter the halls. You My Servants will surely not be different.
Then all around him made obeisance and announced sympathy. The multitudes were all frightened and did not answer. Yuan Shu after a good long time said:
From old [I] have had nothing of this kind, but have wished to apply good thoughts.
Shao was so angry he changed colour, and so left and right everyone stated they would humbly listen to his commands and directions. Next daybreak they beheaded Shu.
Shao defended the Wanchun Gate, and then announced to those at the gate, saying:
I have received a directive to enter and make arrests. [You] can help me supervise the rear company and order them to make haste.
Shao also faked directives from Yilong stating:
Lu Xiu plans rebellion. You next [?] can defend the barriers. Bring along troops to enter and chastise.
For that reason the officers and men trusted him.
Chaozhi and others led more than ten people to run through the Yunlong Gate, pull out their blades, and head directly to ascend the Hanzhang Hall. Yilong at night had withdrawn from people with Xu Zhanzhi for idle talk, and at the time had still not yet finished. The gate doors equally were without attendant guards. Yilong, hard pressed, used an armrest to shield himself. The troops' blades crisscrossed down and five fingers fell off. Chaozhi chopped down Yilong, Xu Zhanzhi was murdered by the disorderly troops. Shao separately dispatched ambushers on Jiang Zhanzhi, and beheaded him. Xiuming at the time was at the western provincial headquarters, he came to station within the hall. Shao also sent troops to kill Xiuming's mother.
Next day, Shao ascended the hall and accepted the imperial seal and ribbon. He sent down a document which said:
Xu Zhanzhi and Jiang Zhan's murderous treason is indescribable. I guided troops to enter the halls, but there was already nothing to do. Calling out in chagrin and collapsing with heartache, heart and liver are smashed and cracked. Now the criminals have been obtained, and the prime fiends overcome and ended. The divined generations and numinous benedictions are forever appreciated without end. Thinking of it extending here with the myriad millions to once more begin, there can be a great amnesty under Heaven, and change the 30th Year of Yuanjia to be the 1st Year of Taichu [“Grand Beginnings”].

🙏Here are all photos of me & my beautiful family in one picture. Full story on Facebook! Please read IMPORTANT Post I posted on October 23,2023 & today October 27, 2023. on Facebook! (3 days ago) My legacy & fun facts about me & my beautiful, smart, talented family. I was born & raised in Northern Nevada. Family living in Nevada for (44) forty-four years. Proud nurse, proud cheer/dance/long distance coach.
18 years as an elite long distance runner, & good singer since I was 3 years old. Me a cross-country/track girl, choir girl, good at academics, athletics, lots of awards , & an overachiever, super star like my older sister. My name is 文风英 (Woon Foong Yin in Hakka) in Chinese Mina Van. My older sister's name Catherine Van (Catt Van) Woon Fong Yin in Hakka) is named 文芳英 . I am a proud 梁 Van family and proud 文 Liang family (in Chinese it's pronounced "Luong"in Hakka).
What we all share is that we can all speak Hakka Chinese FLUENTLY. What we all share in my family is that we are mostly Chinese. Blood is thicker than water no matter the flaws some families may have. Here's pictures if me in my mom's side of the family & dad's side of the family.
Van is translated as "Wen" in Chinese so when I say we are the Van family, we are also the "Wen" family. We are also known as the family of the Schwartz's family. Thank you to Adam Schwartz & Catherine Van-Schwartz for helping us through these very hard times. I just talked to 26 family members (including my older sister) on my mom's side of the family on our group chat on Wechat.
I miss them very much & told them everything. Then my other successful blood-related family of doctors in my family, veterans, doctors, nurses, coaches, news reporter, lobbyist, good singers, good photographers, good writers, a cop, a dentist, teachers, etc.The Van family also known as the Wen family, The Liang Family, The Lee family everyone connected in my family always stay loyal to family.
My dad-(my father's name pronounced Tong Van) named Thong Hoc Van-通霍文 Tong huo wen in english pronounced in english everyone calls him "Tong Van" which is his real name. 文衍信 (Woon Yon Seen).America made Asians (my dad) look foolish with their names because they translated our names wrong. Racism at its best grrrr! 🔥#StopAsianHate & stop micro aggression toward Asians.
On my dad's driver's license it says my dad has brown eyes but really he has blue eyes. Family please come & see my dad & look in his eyes to give you proof. The pictures of my dad look brown but it's blue. My dad says his dad had brown eyes and men follow men so he followed his dad saying he has brown eyes but in reality he has blue eyes but not the BRIGHT blue eyes I see in my grandma- my dad's mother.
My grandma (dad's side) named Thoai Ly Van had the true blue eyes. My grandma directly told me she was BORN with blue eyes. I permanently changed my eyes to blue colored eyes in Mexico in 2017 because it reminds of my grandma- my # 1 hero. They're not colored eye contacts. She died of Congestive heart failure.
In 23 and me & DNA Ancestry in 2017, I found out I have small portions of European descent. I'm proud to be mostly Chinese, part Vietnamese, Native American, and small portions of French, German, Ashkenazi Jewish but Jewish is not my religion, & way smaller portions of hispanic, & African American. Our family is mixed with Asians & white people. I love them all very much.
My grandma on my mom's side of the family her family believed in both Jesus Christ & Guan Yin. We pray to Mother Mary, Guan Yin, Jesus christ & to Buddha. We are both Catholics and Buddhists eventhough Catholics only believe in 1 God. We believe in more. She was also a Kindergarten teacher.
I remembered what my grandma prayed at her altar with the picture of Jesus Christ & Guan Yin. Guan Yin is Chinese Jesus & Chinese Mother Mary. I also have other catholics and Buddhists on my dad's side of the family. Some of them go to Bishop Monogue Catholic High School. My grandma Lee Dack Ching on my mom's side of the family died from a stroke & had kidney failure. I remember I was close to Kidney failure in 2019. The people at the hospital (Renown) were so abusive to me. 😭 I thought it was a back problem because I also have Scoliosis,Seizures, & many health problems. I didn't know how much more time I have. Life is already predetermined. What's in my God's will is meant to happen. I was born at Renown formerly known as Washoe County Medical Center in Reno, Nevada.
Both my grandma's name have the word pronounced "Lee." Thoai Ly Van (dad's side). It's supposed to be Thoai Lee Van but spelled Ly. Lee Dack Ching (mom's side). That's something special about my family. Something significant to me is that I am also the Lee family. Both my grandmas were friends in real life.
Everyone knows my mom as Chan Ying Liang-Van 陈英文 chen yen wen in english on google translate. Liang is an origin of Chinese. 梁应婵 was the name given to her by grandma. Her name given to her by grandma is 梁应婵. (Liang Yin Sum)
My mom & my older sister Catherine Van-Schwartz & me Mina Van have the same middle name in Chinese in English it is Ying. I have no middle name in english but what the three of us share the same name is pronounced "Yin" 英in english & hakka. If Catherine & Mina (me) had our full english name it would be Catherine Yin Van and mine would be Mina Yin Van. In english it would be the middle name "Ying." So the 2 of our full names would be Catherine Ying Liang Van-Schwartz & Mina Ying Liang Van.
My older sister' husband- my older brother in law Adam Schwartz. "Schwartz" is German. My brother in law is mostly German. My last name is "Van" and is German origin & Vietnamese origin but my dad is mostly Chinese.
Catherine Van-Schwartz, to my beautiful, smart, talented, overachieving, News Reporter, Lobbyist older sister, you will always be my role model and I'll always be your little copy cat. When I think of the musical "Wicked" and "Hairspray" I think of my sister and I sing and know all the songs like my sister because she was the president in Intermezzo. She made it into Intermezzo (Show Choir) & Women Chorus auditioned choirs.
From the years August 2004- June 2008. She was also in & made it to vocal ensemble, and was treasurer for Student council in. My older sister was also captain of the tennis team at Edward C Reed High School by Coach Mr. Phoenix.
I made into Women's Choir (now called Prima Voce) auditioned choir in Sophomore year of high school in August 2008- June 2011. I also did Cross-Country & Track & Field for 6 years straight since Mendive Middle School and Edward C. Reed High School. Some of the coaches were the best coaches I've ever met. That's why I'm a coach but also a nurse as well. The cross- country coach I looked up to during high school was our cross- country coach her name was Coach Reynolds then coach Ragains then Ochoa. She was the most fit women I have ever met. She was so inspiring. Also the other coach was coach Carothers. Both coach Shannon Reynolds-O. & Scott Carothers were the best coaches who also let us go to wild Island for free because they were managers there. Been going to Wild Island Water Park since I was 7 years old.
Also got to do track & field and cross-country with my best cousin friends the Cozads-Murillo. We've been best friends since we were literally babies.🩷My other favorite second cousin is Tiffany Truong. My older sister Catherine, older second cousin Mia, Jennette (nicknamed Jeffery)(younger second cousin), older cousin Tiffany, and (me) Mina were best friends as kids. Love you guys the best friends & best second cousins forever. Love running around my house laughing really loud like Sponge Bob Square Pants 😂Singing so loudly because I was so good at singing like my sister was good at singing. We loved listening to Backstreet Boys, A*Teens, and S Club 7. Fun times. 🩷
Thank you to your dad Scott for taking me to the Men's WolfPack Basketball games since I was 12 years old around 2005. I'm 30 years old now. My older sister is 33 years old now. We're True Nevada Wolf Pack (UNR) Fans. (University of Nevada,Reno). Nevada Natives. I remember being at the Wolf Pack games when It was my birthday November 4th when I was 12. Was the best birthday. I loved Kevin Pinkney the best I still have Kevin Pinkney's picture on my wall. I also loved Nick Fazekas, Ramon Sessions, Kyle Shiloh, Seth Shiloh, Sean Paul from Reno, Nevada.
Me (Mina) and Catherine was in an auditioned musical choir together called "The King and I" at Edward C. Reed High School in 2001. when I was 8 years old and my sister was 11 years old. We love our choir teacher Mr. Lorentzen (Rentz) and everyone in his family is the most kindest, talented, most beautiful singers in the world. I cried so much when I found out Rentz had cancer. 😭I'm glad for him & his family that he's okay now. Thank God. I know we may not talk, but I love YOU & your family. I realized when I went to New York in March 2023 I read Mr. Lorentzen was in New York too.
Was so sad when the Rentz family moved to Washington. We're connected in many ways because Washington is where Catherine-Van-Schwartz graduated from Gonzaga University a Catholic Jesuit University. Portland, Oregon is where Our best family white friend Eva Kathryn Satterberg Heap moved to after being my best friend in Reno & Sparks Nevada.
My older sister & brother in law is connected to Oregon. My brother in law who's white (Adam) has 2 sisters one older sister who's a pediatrician and adam's little sister is the same same age as me. We're both 30. Her birthday is January or February and my birthday's November 4th. I'm 2 months older than her. We're the youngest child (Kate) of the family.
Adam's little sister also did cross-country and track like I did. Me & Melanie Reynolds-Sanford my best white friend & Ravina Grewal-Sanghera ( my best Indian Panjabi American friend) my beautiful older white mixed cousin Mia, my cutest younger cousin (Mia's little sister) Jennette (Jeffery), me (Mina), and my beautiful older sister Catherine all did track and cross-country related to running. Catherine did track & cross- country in Mendive Middle School, so did I! We're all best friends.🩷Close or not close anymore, I love you guys forever.
The first time me & Mia Cozad & Jennette & Tiffany & me & my older sister Catherine & me (Mina) had sleepovers at each others houses was around 5 years old. We had fun sleepovers & hungout with eachother during schools & even up until high school & college at UNR University of Nevada, Reno Wolf Pack. I always told them everything.
🩷I love being Catherine's baby sister. 😭My sister was always so popular. I always felt so popular when I was with her. Her friend called me " little Catherine" when we were kids or they call me "little Catt" by Maureen Choman who was white. I loved her friend and Aaron Benedetti who was white. Aaron was so cute.
Aaron B was on my cross-country team in August 2007 Cross-country team at Edward C. Reed High School. When I was a Freshman and he was a senior. I remembered when I tripped when we were literally running mountains & hott guy Aaron asked me if I was okay and literally lended me his hand when I fell. It was like true love.🤣😂😍🩷.
Aaron & Maureen are smart I heard they're doctors now too. Smart & beautiful like them. I remember Aaron's friend named Sarah Conkey- my sister's friend same grade as my sister- Sarah told my sister & my sister told me she said Sarah talked to me during Cross-Country and she asked me something and she said I ran away from her 😂.
I was really shy around my sister's popular friends back then hahaha. Something I'm good at, is running that's what people have said about me especially in track & cross-country haha. One of my good friend's (a different person) named is Aaron Stave (he's white) and dated him. The name Aaron is significant in my life. Also Josh Wang (Asian American friend) I love you friend. We dated when I was 21 and Josh has always been a good friend. Love you friend. 🩷
3rd grade -Mrs.Haney from Diedrichsen Elementary School called me the best writer in her class. I loved writing as a little kid. 3rd grade was when I lost my best friend Grandma Thoai Ly Van 😭. 3rd grade was the hardest time of my life. First 9/11 September 11th 9/11/2001 happened when I was 8 years old. I cried during class as well as some other kids in my class. We did the pledge & moment of Silence. Mrs. Haney & Mrs.Horning who are sisters in real life ( my 1st grade teacher loved me & Catherine).
In 3rd grade my best friend was my childhood neighbor friend (Gabby Gomez my best hispanic friend) lived right across the street from me. My other best friend was her name was Jennifer but now changed her name to Quan Huynh-she was my best asian friend who was Chinese/Vietnamese (the prettiest & kindest Asian friend of mine) I'd tell everything she would come to my house and I would come over to her apartment to go swimming. We wanted to do the Macarena for the Talent Show for Diedrichsen Elementary School.
One time at her apartment, we were the only ones swimming. Jennifer (Quan) forgot the keys and we started crying because we thought we were stuck in there then my mom literally came out of nowhere and told us to climb on the chair and we climbed over the fence. My mom Chan Van saved us. My mommy's always a hero to me.
Quan H, and I were friends up until High school then I don't know what happened. But thank you for being my best friend through those times. Quan had my older sister as a Edward C. Reed High School Raider mentor. She loved my sister.
Another of my friends named Dominique Hutchinson (my best African American friend at the time) she also had Catherine Van- my sister as a Raider Mentor. She said my sister was awesome & she said "I never knew your older sister was so popular." Haha I wish I was naturally popular like my sister but I was too shy who loved dancing, singing & being a star.
Dominique was my flag dance team friend. I loved dancing, cheering, gymnastics flag dance winter guard team & my friends in colorgaurd flag dance team at Mendive Middle School at the time was also Michelle S., Carley P. , Melanie A,Mickey S. I love Mormons & Christians, I love people of all religions and love all people of all different races/ethnicities/descents. Carley was also a good friend through high school thank you for inviting me to your sleepover for your birthday in 9th grade.
I love Mormons like Carley & Laura V. You know who you are. Carley did Intermezzo with my older sister Catherine. Me & Carley were in 9th grade.my sister Catherine Van-Schwartz was president of Intermezzo and my sister was a senior (12th grade). My sister is so cool😎.
I loved Carley she was a good friend of mine also from Mendive Middle School Track & Cross-country & Carley did track with me in 9th grade. Carley was also my P.E. Friends in 9th grade with Megan Bailey, Kathleen Reid, and Justine Kierulf. I loved them. Thank you for being my friends back then!🩷
They were my good friends in 9th grade P.E. I was the fastest runner & fastest mile runner in P.E. (Physical Education). Mr. strebbel was the teacher. Suzanne Lee was also my friend in high school. No we're not related! Haha. I loved her. She was Asian Chinese & Vietnamese like me. Serena's Lee's cousin & my older sister's old friend from tennis from Reed High School.
I got to be a on top & the flyer in the pyramids during the show in 7th grade my friend a different friend at the time Melanie A (I always thought she was my favorite cross-country buddy in middle school & high school. She was (Hispanic American) I loved her skin so tan beautiful like her soul. Me & Melanie A were the top fastest runners in Middle School & High School. So was me & my cousin (my beautiful older cousin) Doctor Mia Cozad-Murillo. I love her. You guys are my best friends ,you & Soon to be Doctor Jennette (Jeffery my beautiful younger cousin) and Tiffany Truong (love you beautiful older cousin).Love Mia & Jennette's Older brother Michael Nathan Cozad.🩵He's watching over you guys.🙏🩵
Okay back to 3rd grade, it was the hardest time of my life. Me, Mia Cozad, and Samantha Chung did gymnastics together to show off our dance in the talent show to "Mama Mia" by A*teens when we all went to Diedrichsen Elementary School and did our gymnastics dance at Mendive Middle School.
Mia & Samantha Chung were older than me- a grade older than me they were in 4th grade while I was in 3rd grade. And no, I never got held back. I'm too smart to be held back. All my family members are beyond super smart. We called her Sam. Or Sammy. My mom’s hakka name is Sammy. Pronounced “Summy.“
I also had a gymnastics friend (I called her my classmate friend) we're not friends in real life but wished we were but I'm to shy -her name is Samm D. She's white I love her mom. Her mom was my AP (Advanced Placement) US History teacher in 2010. She was awesome. I loved Mrs. Young.
She had a son named Shane (he's white) who was my Older sister Catherine's friend. Shane H. was best friends with Michael. Michael K (he's also white) is my older sister's good friends from Intermezzo. They've known eachother since Kindergarten. Thank you to Michael for being my sister's friend & my Aunt Ky’s & Monica’s neighbor. saw him at my older sister Catt Van's wedding. Thank You to Danielle L.-B, for being my older sister's maiden of honor at her wedding in 2019 in Sandy, Oregon. At the wedding literally more than 200 people came to her wedding. Half of Catherine's family/friends from Reno/Sparks, Nevada. And half from Adam Schwartz's family/friends from Oregon.
In 3rd grade I only had 2 best friends at school and that Jennifer (Quan Huynh) was my only friend at school eventhough I had other friends outside of school. Gabby was a grade younger than me. She was a year younger than me. Through this hard time of life I considered Megan B (white), to be my 3rd grade friend. She invited me & Quan over for her birthday party in 3rd grade. She was the prettiest white girl with beautiful pale skin. 😍 I know we're not friends in real life anymore but thank you for your friendship.
Me & Megan Bailey were also friends in high school. She told me after 4th grade or whatever grade it was she literally moved to England and then we reunited in 9th grade. I considered her one of my track friends and P.E. Friends. Thanks for being a friend back then. I hope you & your handsome boyfriend 😍 have a good life together.
Her boyfriend is Asian & her friends are Asian. I secretly want to be friends with you in real life haha, but it's okay I'm too shy lol. She's a doctor now. I told you people I went to elementary school with are very extra successful people like Megan.
Megan B stuck up for me in track when some hispanic girl from cross-country & track from Reed High School (name initials is S.O-H) when I was racing with Megan S.O-H wanted to race with her instead of have me race with her in the same heat. I've known S.O.-H since 1st grade & she pushed me over in 1st grade.
Then in Cross-Country at Reed High School she pushed me over again during practice. She was Hispanic but was also had one of the same majors as me in Community Health Sciences/Public Health. Then one day when I was at UNR she was with her boyfriend and she told her boyfriend in front of my face "I don't like her" she was referring to me. S.O.-H was such a bully to me & little did my cousin Mia know & Mia was friends with her in real life decorating white colored shoes with colored gel pens. I hope Karma gets at S.O.-H. I guess I forgive you. Love you both.
In 3rd grade I also wanted to be friends with Maggie Anderson she was born November 1st. I was born November 4th. We're both November Scorpios. We were the 2 smartest people im class.
I also wanted to have Mrs. Yuill for 6th grade but got Mrs.Eck instead. My older sister Catherine Van had Mrs.Yuill. 6th grade was still considered elementary school back then. sixth grade was the best grade in elementary school sixth grade graduation song was called "I Hope You Dance" by Leanne Womack. I love you Mrs. Eck.
I also love you to my second cousins Alexander & Kiera. You guys were the cutest babies I babysat them since I was around 10 years old. They are also mixed half Asian & half White. I love you guys. I always wanted to be a Pediatrician or a Veterinarian and I had the chance to take care of my cousin's kids.
I also felt like a Veterinarian because growing up
Up I had 2 parakeets, a guinea pig, 2 mice that had 20 babies, I had 3 different rabbits in this lifetime and 1 cat who passed away. I miss them very much. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Scooter, Bella-Sky, Nala, and Binx.
Also to Alex T & Sophia D.-T, (my older cousins) we love your family too. I love your 3 children Adeline, Jayden, Dominic ( my beautiful younger second cousins. I love children I wanted take care of your children & baby
Sit them when they were babies because I wanted to be a pediatrician good thing I had Alexander G and Kiera G as my babies to take care of at. I love your Catholic family!🩷 Alex, thank you for fixing our Microsoft computers when we were younger.
Also Thank you To Kien My Lu and Hoa Lu for taking me to the hospital in the middle of the night in 2010 when I had a medical emergency & my parents don't speak english as a first langauge-so people have taken advantage of my family. 2010 is the year I was diagnosed with Seizures & had a concussion during 11th grade.
They mistaken & misdiagnosed it as a mental health crisis. And rumors and untrue things went on about me & violated my civil rights due to racism they (Police) thought I was the problem which was not true Reed High School saw me because my best friend at the time named Britney A. -N. Told me Michelle S saw me get taken away by police because they mistaken it & thought was a mental crisis but really it was a physical health problem with my concussion.
To my cousin Doctor Thomas Truong for giving us -my Dad an Apple computer more than a decade ago & gave my dad a nice TV we still have. You're the nicest cousin in Nevada. Thank you for taking care of my family always.😭 I always looked up to you & wanted to be a doctor like you. But became a nurse & coach. Also to Monica T his sisters I love you guys too. You're the nicest to my family including Tammy T.-C.
Thank you for helping my family because english is not their first langauge & it makes me cry when people take advantage of any of my family or any one of color or anyone being mistreated. It also makes me emotional that you're so nice to always help everybody who are less fortunate or have less money than us. We had less money out of everyone in our family. I always wanted a 2 storey house with a balcony when I was little we couldn't afford it so I thought an alternative for our house now we have 2 stairs & 2 balconies.
But racist neighbor Zimmermans, Caulderons who recently moved out 3 weeks ago in the house in 2266 in green colored house next to us made up false complaints about me & my family. Now we might have to take the balcony and stairs down. It was my dream come true to have it built.
City of Sparks-Sparks City Hall is violating my homeowner rights & form of discrimination. I've had the main balcony stairs blue container shed which is a total cost of $39,000 all paid from my Aunt Kim Van. I love my Aunt Kim I'm sorry, I love you, you & my parents have given me everything & city of Sparks want to get rid of it 😭.
We own the property since 1990 before I was even born paid off mortgage years ago. Don't do this to us 😭. That blue container shed balcony blocks people from shooting at us. It's protecting our house. Both balconies & decks. Please don't take that away. It's a gift from my aunt and memory of my aunt Kim Van and her legacy of our house at 2256 R******* DR Sparks, Nevada 89434.
I know my rights as an American. My aunt is 88 (eighty eight) years old it's almost her time to leave this earth 😭. Please don't take my balconies away my aunt Kim, mom, & dad worked hard for their money for years to give me & my older sister Catherine everything we ever wanted including my sister's brand new red car in 2008 I drove in High school and passed my driver's license test at age 16 with my sister's hot looking red car she still owns, my dad's white sedan he gave me for my high school graduation, then in 2018 my dad and mom gave me my dream car brand new blue suv that is a brand new Subaru Crosstrek sky blue is my favorite color. In 2004 my dad bought his brand new Toyota from Carson City my dad was so happy he finally made enough money to buy it. All money paid off without taking a loan. So that's my dream car. Thank you mama Chan Van l, thank you Papa Van, & thank you Aunty Kim Van. Thank you Catherine & Adam!My dad is getting very old-85 years old.My mom is 60 years old. She's old too.😭❤️🩷🩵🙏I would be nothing without you guys.😭🙏
Thank you back in 2020, Shimamoto for recruiting me & had fun in Beachbody Coaching to be a coach. I don't work with you anymore obviously Now I'm a part time cheerleading/dance/long distance coach somewhere else. Thank you for being a friend & it inspired me to be a coach because I had inspiring coaches when I was a little kid.
Thank you to my mom's side of the family especially my mom's older sister (6th child) my mom the 7th child of my grandma. Her name in Hakka I call her is "Gon Yee." I love my mom's side of the family the best. Everyone is so truly kind and never talks negatively about each other. To All who hurt me or my family, & anyone connected to my family in anyway, you all are fake! Having beautiful hearts means you're automatically beautiful. True beauty is skin deep. A person with a good soul radiates out. My grandmas including my aunts & uncles had so many children because they loved children like I too love children. Also pray for 🇮🇱 Israel & 🇺🇦 Ukraine. Hate will not win!
Anyways spread ❤️ love. Love you all. Thank you all angels undercover. Archangel Michael please help. 🙏🩵Also thank you Pyschic Medium Vivian 2014, 2017. Pyschic Medium Melanie from 2014. ❤️
Spread Asian love. Spread kindness. End racism!🖤
Protect our family & all families connected to us in anyway. 🩷In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, In the name of Jesus, Amen!🙏
In the name of the Guan Yin, Ong Lee (meaning Buddha in Hakka Chinese langauge), Yay-Su (Jesus Christ), Ty-uh- ma (Mother Mary Virgin Mother Mary)
In the name of Jesus, Amen!🙏

Comprehensive Biography of Sima Fang
Sima Fang, styled Jiangong (司馬防字建公; 149 - 219), was a civil official. He was the patriarch of the Sima clan and his descendants would go on to rule parts of China for around 150 years.
Ancestry
Sima Fang came from Xiaojing Village, Wen County, Henei Commandery.[1][2] One of the ancestors of Sima Fang was Sima Ang, a general for the Nation of Zhao during the Chu-Han Conflicts. He was made King of Yin and had his capital at Henei, where his descendants remained. Sima Ang's eighth generational descendant was Sima Jun, styled Shuping (司馬鈞字叔平), who served the Han as General who Conquers the West. Sima Jun's son was the Grand Administrator of Yuzhang; Sima Liang, styled Gongdu (司馬量字公度), whose son, Sima Jun, was the father of Sima Fang.[1]
Early life
When he was young, he served his province and commandery, later to serve as Prefect of Luoyang and Intendant of Jingzhao.[1][2] He enjoyed the Book of Han's Biographies of Famed Ministers and was able to recite several tens of ten thousands words from it, which is a lot.[2]
He later became Right Assistant to the Masters of Writing. Around 175, he recommended Cao Cao to be Commandant of the North of Luoyang. Some suggested Sima Fang chose Cao Cao because he knew Cao Cao would defend Luoyang well from invaders.[3]
Around 190, in response to the Guandong Coalition, Dong Zhuo moved the capital from Luoyang to Chang'an. At the time, Sima Fang was Archivist Secretarial Censor and had to move west to Chang'an with many other officials. He was concerned about the unrest in China, so he sent Sima Lang to lead his family back to Wen County.[4]

Around Summer 216, when Cao Cao became King of Wei, he summoned Sima Fang to Ye for a cordial drink. He said to Sima Fang,
"Am I currently still able to perform as a Commandant or not?"
Sima Fang replied,
"At the time I recommended you, O Great King, you were capable of performing as a Commandant. That is all."
Cao Cao laughed loudly in response.[3]
Relationships with his sons
Sima Fang was known for his extremely strict upbringing for his sons. Even as they grew older, they still listened to him out of respect and possibly fear. If Sima Fang did not order them to go forward, they did not dare go forward; if Sima Fang did not order them to sit, they did not dare sit; if Sima Fang did not gesture for them to answer, they did not dare speak.[2]
Final years
When he was older, he transferred to become Commandant of Cavalry. It is stated he secluded himself in his humble house, that he closed his gates and was mindful of his behavior.[2]
He died in 219.[2]
Postmortem events
His grandson, Sima Lun, who was Emperor for a short time, wanted to honor Sima Fang as Emperor. Whether anything came of this is unknown.[3]
He had eight sons: Sima Lang, Sima Yi, Sima Fu, Sima Kui, Sima Xun, Sima Jin, Sima Tong, and Sima Kui. They were called the 'Eight Das' because all their style names had Da (達) at the end.[1][2][5]
Personality
By nature, he was very direct but was usually fair. It is said that even in feasts, he maintained a solemn appearance.[2]
Family
He had eight sons: Sima Lang, Sima Yi, Sima Fu, Sima Kui, Sima Xun, Sima Jin, Sima Tong, and Sima Kui. They were called the 'Eight Das' because all their style names had Da (達) at the end.[1][2][5]
Legacy
Sima Fang sending Cao Cao was a good idea, as Cao Cao was known for prosecuting or executing anyone who broke the rules in his jurisdiction, and even the wealthy and powerful were not exempt, significantly lowering the corruption in the capital. In addition, Sima Fang's strict upbringing of Sima Yi, which most likely included studying ancient histories and biographies as well as social etiquette, probably gave him a good education, leading to Sima Yi's future successes.
Personal Info
Name: Sima Fang
Style name: Jiangong[1][2]
Birth date: 149[2]
Death date: 219[2]

Ch. 69: Sui Zhou Touches Tang Fan’s Lips As They Sleep On The Same Bed
Context: Continues from Chapter 68. Tang Fan, Sui Zhou and the other men are headed back to the Imperial City and Tang Fan knows that his punishment for letting Yin Yuan Hua get killed will be severe. Sui Zhou tries to help him but is helpless to do so, and Tang Fan plans for him instead, touching and warming the man’s heart.
*Note: Liang Wen Hua is Yin Yuan Hua’s direct supervisor and the both of them have been trying to sabotage Tang Fan for the longest time.
Introduction Post | Masterpost
Highlights under the cut
Tang Fan smiles slightly, and then finds a chair next to the bed to sit down on. The red swelling on his face has already faded, so this action naturally looks elegant.
“What do you think will happen?” he asks in return, wanting to hear his good friend’s thoughts.
Sui Zhou is highly skilled in martial arts and has a firm, strong body, so even after sustaining severe injuries, now that he has laid down for so many days he is more or less recovered. Now, as he sits leaning against the side of the wall and chats with his good friend, this is instead another type of rest.
Listening to Tang Fan’s words, he then says sombrely, “A lot of people already think that you are in the Zhang Ying’s camp, but from what I can see, Wan An has been wanting to switch him out and so he definitely won’t sit in the ministerial position for long. Once he leaves, you’ll have to face Liang Wen Hua on your own, but in today’s court there are a few different parties that are competing fiercely with each other. Although Liang Wen Hua and the Chief Minister Wan An are close, but Liu Xu and Liu Ji do not look upon Wan An favourably, you still have a chance.”
The bunch of them have stayed in Gong County for a month, and at this point, Sui Zhou still does not know that Zhang Ying has been assigned to Nanjing, and also has no idea how accurate his premonition is.
“So what you mean is, I should depend on Liu Xu or Liu Ji?” Tang Fan asks.
Sui Zhou nods, “In the internal courts, today’s leading three elders, aside from Wan An, are Liu Xu and Liu Ji, these two men. Liu Xu is righteous and blunt, while Liu Ji is used to patronising others, and they are certainly no easy people to get along with. However, Liu Xu is the Emperor’s teacher and even he has to address the man as Dong Liu-xiansheng. The respect he has for the man is apparent. As for Liu Xu himself, he can appreciate capable young officials, so if you can gain his protection, you will not need to be afraid of Liang Wen Hua.”
And within the internal courts, although Liu Xu tends to be arrogant, compared to others, his personality can be considered one of the better ones. Moreover, he often advises the Emperor to work hard and serve his people. The only thing is, Liu Xu has a bad temper and likes to lecture others. If he sees someone he does not like, no matter if that person has done something good or bad, he will still lecture them from a higher moral ground. This has garnered the resentment of others, and so his relationship with others in court is not good. He tends to spread rumours to the disadvantage of others, which is why he, Wan An and Liu Ji are discussed together in the same sitting.
***
Tang Fan only laughs bitterly at his words, “This is a good solution, but on me, this doesn’t really work.”
Sui Zhou frowns, “Why?”
“My teacher and Liu Xu hold old grudges against each other, detesting one another. They cannot resist but want to triumph over the other. With Liu Xu’s character, do you think it’s possible for him to protect his enemy’s student?”
“There is deep enmity between them?” Sui Zhou asks.
Tang Fan, “Not quite to that extent, but you are also well aware that the both of them have bad tempers and believe in that they know best. You know this, it is easy to determine who the winner is in a physical fight, but between scholars, it is challenging to see who wins. I am not certain how their conflict came to be, but in any case, I once saw my teacher throw water from a cup at Liu Xu with my own eyes, and he said that Liu Xu is just as this water, that he is dirty and hard to deal with.”
Sui Zhou, “…”
Well, since they have already come to blows, it is probably impossible for them to become friends in this lifetime. And Tang Fan, as Qiu Jun’s student, if he approached the man, judging by Liu Xu’s personality, it is not difficult to imagine how Tang Fan will be humiliated as a result.
This method indeed will not work. When he thinks about this, Sui Zhou too is a little helpless.
He is the zhenfushi in charge of the Northern Administrative Court, and although the official hat he wears on the top of his head is Rank Five qianhu only, the rank he has when compared to civil officials of the same rank is very different. Not only do Rank Five civil officials need to give way to him, even the seasoned elders in the internal court will have to stop and exchange greetings with him when they see Sui-zhenfushi.
Moreover, he is also related to Empress Dowager Zhou, while the Emperor trusts him immensely. For him to keep progressing upwards is not a difficult thing.
And yet, for Sui-zhenfushi who holds so much power, he is unable to do anything for his good friend’s career problems. On the surface, it seems that this is due to the entirely differently systems that govern the promotions for Embroidered Uniform Guards and civil officials.
However, Sui Zhou believes that this is the result of him not being powerful and strong enough. If he had the power and authority that someone like Grand Tutor Sun Ji Zong has now, even if Liang Wen Hua wanted to sabotage Tang Fan, he would have to reconsider and they would not be stuck in this situation where they can only react to changes.
Tang Fan sees his frustration and instead comforts him, “You do not need to be like this. I know you are doing this for my own good but whether or not I continue to be an official, this is not under yours or my control. I have already done my best at the things I need to do and have no regrets. You don’t have to worry about things that will happen in the future.  We should live in the present, and there will always be things to worry about tomorrow!”
Sui Zhou hears this and does not know if he should be reassured by how open-minded Tang Fan is, or worried that he is so nonchalant.
Then again, if Tang Fan was the the type of official that went after status and power, focusing only on promotions, then the both of them would unlikely have any common interests or views, or become good friends.
It is commonly said that there is a everything happens for a reason, and if you lose something you will also gain something. Although it is impossible for everything to go smoothly, but they headed into Marquis Gong’s tomb, meet bloodthirsty, merciless and ferocious tomb-guarding beasts and originally thinking that they would have to die down there, and they ended up returning safely. This is already a fortunate thing; hey really should not ask for too much.
In any case, he has plenty of savings and when it comes to that, Sui Zhou can definitely afford to take care of him. All he has to do is think of ways to make Tang Fan stay.
Sui Zhou does not realise that unconsciously, he has already been influenced by Tang Fan’s casual, broad-minded attitude. The way he used to regard life in a strict and narrow manner is also slowly changing.
If it was before, he might have gotten angry at Tang Fan’s lack of ambition and competitive drive, and the way he does not seem to want to work with anyone else, but right now, he instead understands Tang Fan and acknowledges his friend’s perspective towards life.
This is because Sui Zhou knows that it is not that Tang Fan does not want to progress upwards, that he doesn’t work hard. It is that he has already done his best within the limitations of his capabilities, and he does not want to force things. He prefers to let things come as they will - he works with the determination of wanting to work towards maintaining peace in this world, but as a person, he is happy being himself and will deal with things when they happen.
To be able to be friends with him is the other person’s fortune.
“You’re right,” Sui Zhou’s mouth curves upwards, and his heart eases.
He does not know when it started; when he looks at this person and thinks about him, his eyes lose the cold and hard edge usually present when he looks at others, and what’s left behind is a light layer of happiness.
***
“Guang Chuan, after we head back, you better make a trip to Yuan-zhenfushi’s. He has been with the Embroidered Uniform Guards for so many years and though he does not think much of power and status, he is definitely not someone who will let others step on him. Since he let you command the whole of the Northern Administrative Court, this means that he obviously is impressed with your abilities and is intent on making you his successor. If you can obtain his complete approval and you absorb all of Yuan Bin’s power and connections, then even if Wan Tong returns, he will not be able to touch you easily. At that point you would control the Northern Administrative Court firmly, and naturally will not be afraid of Wan Tong.”
“And,” Tang Fan sits on the bed and bends at the waist to remove his shoes and socks, then hugs the covers and lies on the bed as he plans for Sui Zhou, “You are Empress Dowager Zhou’s grandnephew and the trust that the Emperor has for you is not lesser than the trust he has for Wan Tong. After you return, you must remember two things and you will be able to stand firmly before the Emperor. No matter how Wan Tong tries to sabotage you, he will not be able to do anything to you.”
Sui Zhou raises an eyebrow, “I’m all ears.”
“Firstly, no matter what the Emperor wants to do, you must not oppose him. If he asks for your opinion, you must not respond. Whatever he says, you do, unless it clashes with your principles. Secondly, after Wan Tong drags Yuan Bin down, you must ask for leniency for Yuan Bin. If the Emperor asks you for a reason, you should say that you are willing to serve him as Yuan Wen served the previous Emperor. Not only will the Emperor not blame you if you say this, but he will also pardon Yuan Bin, and be closer to you as well.”
The Cheng Hua Emperor has plenty of bad habits but at the same time, he is also rather soft-hearted and nostalgic. However, he is also an Emperor and emperors do not prefer their subjects to oppose them day in and out. With this type of personality, the Emperor is indeed a very contradictory person.
Although Tang Fan has only seen the Emperor in person a few times, from the descriptions of people who often interact with him such as Sui Zhou and Wang Zhi, it is not difficult to deduce the Emperor’s character.
What he has just said to Sui Zhou can be regarded as him guessing at the Emperor’s thoughts and this is taboo. If it wasn’t someone like Sui Zhou who he is this close to, Tang Fan will definitely not say any of this.
Sui Zhou naturally understands and his heart warms as he enjoys this treatment.
“I understand, thank you.”
“Between you and I, is there any need for thanks?” Tang Fan smiles.
At night, Tang Fan sleeps rather restfully and these problems have obviously not affected his mood.
Sui Zhou, however, is unable to sleep.
Tang Fan took the initiative and asked to sleep on the inside so that he would not accidentally press on Sui Zhou’s injuries if he tosses and turns. He is lying on his side and his back is almost pressed entirely against the wall. Sui Zhou feels uncomfortable on his behalf just looking at him, but Tang Fan is still able to descend into his dreams.
Sui Zhou’s gaze is sombre and he looks quietly at Tang Fan for a long while, then reaches out to touch that handsome face.
His fingers land on the other’s lips, but he only lightly caresses for a moment. The touch is not made out of lust or want, only respect and sincerity.
Before he met Tang Fan, Sui Zhou was actually incredibly lonely inside.
The Sui family members are not able to understand why Sui Zhou entered the Embroidered Uniform Guards, and in their eyes, Sui Zhou should have emulated his older brother, working hard at the imperial examinations, helping the family to forge a path of honour which will allow them to get rid of the reputation that says they relied on their external relatives for status. Although the authority the Embroidered Uniform Guards wield is great, they have a terrible reputation as well. If he had received an empty title, that’s one thing, but being called a dog to the imperial court, what is this?
However, Sui Zhou does not need anyone to understand him. He is like a single, long wolf, moving forward on a path he has set his heart on.
And then he met Tang Fan.
A person who genuinely wants to help him to plan and strategise for the future.
To be able to attain such a soulmate, what more can he ask for?
He can only reciprocate with everything he has.
The bright moonlight peeps in through the window and lands on Tang Fan’s face. This illuminates his beauty and makes him look like an immortal, unlike a common man.
Suddenly, Deity Tang moves his lips, as if saying something.
Sui Zhou’s curiosity is piqued and he moves closer, but he ends up hearing Tang Fan mumble, “Crab roe… tofu soup…”
Sui Zhou, “…”
Tang-daren’s imposing and noble image has been shattered.

Would you do anything with Wei Ying and the 4 main Juniors like either a fic or just how they interact in the show compared to the older generations
(Many thanks to @miyuki4s for the awesome beta work!)
*
It’s a banquet. A banquet Wei Wuxian was not, technically, invited to, but which he is attending nevertheless because no one in charge figured out he wasn’t supposed to be there until he’d already been offered food.
Such kind servants the Yao Sect has. Such a contrast to their sour Sect Leader, who keeps staring into his wine as if it’s turned to vinegar on his lips.
Wei Wuxian decides not to test his welcome too long—yes, he had been rather useful on the night hunt this afternoon, and yes, his role in Jin Guangyao’s downfall and the known fact of the Chief Cultivator’s favor do buy him a certain amount of social standing with the major Sects, but he’s not going to sit in a man’s hall all night mocking him with his very presence.
Well, he might.
Okay, he definitely would, except the wine is merely decent and the conversation is stilted and, frankly, boring. It would be bearable if he was getting to watch Lan Wangji endure it as well, but alas, the Chief Cultivator has pressing business in Yunmeng, apparently, which must be quite pressing indeed for Jiang Cheng to ask for him and which Wei Wuxian is certain would only be made more difficult by his own presence, even if he does still worry about Jiang Cheng, somewhere in a not-so-secret corner of his heart. So instead of making small talk or setting off into the night he takes his wine and bows out of the hall to Sect Leader Yao’s disgruntled nod of acknowledgment and goes in search of better entertainment.
He finds it just around the side of the disciples’ dormitories, behind a stand of magnolia trees.
Lan Jingyi, Ouyang Zizhen and several other vaguely familiar young members of various clans are sitting in what looks to be a small garden, huddled around what is quite probably either illicitly procured food or, more probably, wine. There’s a flash of gold near the center, and Wei Wuxian is able to answer the slightly-nagging question of where his nephew disappeared to halfway through the feast. Fairy, thankfully, is nowhere in sight. He wonders, for just a moment, whether they purposefully left Lan Sizhui’s reasonable voice out of this clearly ill-advised venture before he catches sight of him half-hidden behind Lan Jingyi’s shoulder, a look of fond exasperation on his face.
Wei Wuxian takes a drink of his own wine and prepares to keep walking—there’s probably a rooftop somewhere with a good view of both the garden and the waning moon to keep him entertained without disturbing anyone else’s fun.
“Ah! Wei-qianbei!” It’s one of the ones Wei Wuxian doesn’t quite remember who greets him, which is a little embarrassing, but the boy’s wearing Yao sect robes and looks like he lost a fight with a thorn bush—ah. Young master Liang Fai, who got a little too up close and personal with a malevolent spirit this afternoon. He beckons Wei Wuxian closer, either ignoring or not noticing those of his companions who freeze in place—Lan Jingyi and two other Lans try valiantly to look as if they have not touched alcohol and Lan Sizhui offers up a slightly chagrined smile—or those who are making only mildly obvious efforts to stop him. Jin Ling looks for a moment as if he might bolt through a nearby bush. “Wei-qianbei, can you teach us that talisman you used today? The one that banished the mist.”
A few of the others actually do look interested in that, even Jin Ling, at least until Wei Wuxian shakes his head.
“You can achieve the same effect with a basic spirit-repelling talisman,” he informs them. Blood is stronger than ink, of course, but he remembers their eagerness in Yi City. Best not to mention that. “It’s nothing special.”
“What about your ward-breaker then?” Lan Jingyi asks. Wei Wuxian arches an eyebrow at him.
“Hanguang-jun did a lecture on it,” Lan Sizhui puts in, soft-spoken and reasonable as ever. “On your inventions, like spirit-attraction flags. He said you had a ward-breaker talisman.”
“I might,” Wei Wuxian allows, though it was never really a secret. “How good’s your brushwork?”
The next half hour is a delightful rush of fresh ink, waving paper and bright enthusiasm. Enthusiasm, of course, is key in the creation of this particular talisman. Enthusiasm, focus, and delicate control of a brush. A few of them can produce a handful of sparks in their first tries. Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui each manage one butterfly, to their evident glee and Wei Wuxian’s lavish praise. Ouyang Zizhen manages a quietly smug three, to general acclaim. They finish the wine, and someone steals more, and an hour goes by and the moon rises higher and then Jin Ling, a little flushed but entirely determined, asks:
“Can you tell us about the Sunshot Campaign?”
Everyone goes quiet. Wei Wuxian laughs, too loud in the long shadows. He is burningly aware that Lan Sizhui—Wen Yuan—is sitting somewhere on his left.
“Surely you’ve learned all about that already,” he says. His smile feels stretched too-thin across his face.
“Not really.” Jin Ling frowns. Wei Wuxian can’t decide if the expression makes him look more like Jin Zixuan or Jiang Cheng, but it’s familiar frustration either way. “Jiujiu won’t tell me anything and—” he stops, lips pressing tight together.
“There are a few stories,” Ouyang Zizhen says in a sort of hushed whisper that makes everyone lean in closer. “but it’s strange, they’re always—”
“It’s always the same stories,” Liang Fai says. “No matter who you ask. It’s always about how awful Wen Ruohan and his sons were, and then the Yin Iron, and the razing of Cloud Recesses and Lotus Pier. Then the Sects rise and Lian—and Meng Yao goes undercover, and Chifeng-zun lays siege to Nightless City.”
“My father always says the Wens reached too far,” Ouyang Zizhen adds. “That they were arrogant and thought they held the authority of the Heavens themselves. But when I ask what happened before the war, or why they attacked Cloud Recesses, he just talks in circles. Sometimes I’m not even sure he knows the answer at all.”
“There’s not much detail,” says Lan Jingyi. “Honestly, I’ve gotten more out of merchants and kids playing in the street than most cultivators. There are more stories about you, really. After. When you were at the Burial Mounds.”
Wei Wuxian sighs. Of course there are. Just as now, when there are so many stories of Jin Guangyao, once more Meng Yao to the vindictive and impressionable, and how people always knew he was up to something. Even at the time, when the events were fresh in everyone’s mind, no one had wanted to remember who the Wens were before the war. If they had, Wei Wuxian might not have been the only one standing by the survivors.
He finds Lan Sizhui’s eyes in the dim moonlight, but Lan Sizhui only stares back at him, as calm and composed as if he’s waiting for a lecture in Cloud Recesses. All the young faces around him are intent and watchful. Waiting. Waiting for him to prove, as he has so many times before, that he’s different from their parents. Because he is, just—maybe not as different as they think.
“It was a war,” he says. “There are better things to talk about. Like—oh, the clouds, the clouds are very nice tonight.”
The clouds are nice. For the record. Worthy of poetry even. But of course these are determined young cultivators. They aren’t just going to let this go.
“It’s when most of them earned their titles,” Jin Ling says. Insists. “And they weren’t—you weren’t—that much older than we are. Not really. What’s so bad that we can’t know it?”
Wei Wuxian remembers a sudden flash of sky, of grass scraping at his scalp and cheek as his brother’s hands closed around his neck. He remembers his sister’s hands, raw and swollen from scrubbing and boiling cloth for bandages. The way Lan Wangji had turned away when he’d asked, and your brother? Your uncle? in the Xuanwu cave. The taste of corpse-dirt in the back of his throat.
There are many, many things that no one should ever have to know. And yet … Jin Ling asks so little of him, in the usual way of things. And not every memory is a weakness their elders will resent.
“What do you know about the Yin Iron?” he asks. It’s a safe enough subject—for one thing, he’s something of an expert, and that’s something he made his peace with long ago. For another, it doesn’t reach too deep into the scars lurking under his skin, and he knows that it has to be part of what Jiang Cheng doesn’t talk about: watching his new recruits, cultivators who trusted and believed in him, become mindless foes with the same face. These young cultivators have seen corpse puppets, but they’ve never seen someone turn before their eyes. Someone they knew and fought alongside. Someone they called brother or sister. He can’t imagine Lan Wangji or anyone else from that time talking about it either.
“It can be used to control corpses,” Lan Jingyi says promptly. “To make them stronger. And used too long, the Yin energy can be damaging to the spirit.”
Wei Wuxian snorts. Of course the Lans would teach that second part. He wonders if they also teach of Lan Yi’s sacrifice, these days. He picks up his brush again and sketches an incomplete array—unbalanced and open ended. Energy ever re-directed against its source.
“Have you thought about what control of corpses means, on a battlefield without Yin Iron of your own? Where every fallen ally can become an enemy?”
The sudden stillness around him would indicate that no, they haven’t. More than one looks like his wine is not agreeing with him.
Wei Wuxian picks up another piece of paper and starts a new talisman—fire, to burn away impurities. “There’s a lot I really don’t remember.” He laughs a little and lights the paper with a twist of his fingers. “My memory has always been bad.”
There is quiet as the paper burns to ash and the night breeze sweeps even that away. Wei Wuxian reaches for the wine and pours himself another drink, and that seems to break the moment at least a little. Jin Ling looks particularly disappointed, and Wei Wuxian is debating telling the one or two actually decent stories he has of Jin Zixuan when someone else speaks first.
“But, Wei-qianbei …” Ouyang Zizhen looks around at his friends and Sect brothers, and then back to Wei Wuxian, determination hardening his features. “If we don’t know how it happened, how will we know how to stop it happening again?”
There are nods around the circle, and Wei Wuxian takes another drink to swallow back the tightness rising in his throat. “I’m really not the right person to ask,” he says.  It’s a very noble sentiment they’re nurturing of course, but the world had turned on him much the same way it had on the Wens, and —ahah. He gestures at Lan Jingyi and Lan Sizhui, triumphant.
“Hanguang-jun,” he says. They stare at him.
“Hanguang-jun doesn’t talk about the war either.” Lan Sizhui’s gaze doesn’t waver, trained on Wei Wuxian.
“There are innumerable things our esteemed Chief Cultivator never puts into words,” Wei Wuxian agrees with a languid wave of his hand, “but does that really mean you don’t know what he thinks?”
Lan Sizhui blinks, then smiles at him.
“The seminars,” says Jin Ling. “He’s setting up—I don’t know, really, lectures and trainings and things, in Gusu and Caiyi, inviting people to speak or visit from all over. Jiujiu says he’ll probably be pushing the rest of us to do that too, soon.”
Ouyang Zizhen nods. “The watchtowers were Jin Guangyao’s project after the war, right? My father says Hanguang-jun wants something better than watchtowers. That he’s working on a new talisman, like the Jin Clan’s butterfly messengers.”
Jin Ling frowns, his hands tightening around his sword. “He hasn’t mentioned the butterfly messengers to me.”
“It’s Hanguang-jun. I don’t think he said anything about it to anyone, Father just saw him writing talismans that turn into pigeons after that conference focused on the towers.”
“Sect Leader Yao doesn’t like how he’s treating the smaller sects.” Liang Fai turns his helmet between his hands, his expression thoughtful. “He says the Chief Cultivator will recognize even just two people as a new sect, if they own so much as a single house to train out of. It’s making the bigger sects nervous.”
“I’m not nervous,” says Jin Ling, scowling at him. “And neither is the Jiang Sect.”
“Ah, ah!” Wei Wuxian interrupts before tensions can draw any higher and waves his hands in the space between Jin Ling and Liang Fai. “Let’s talk about something else. Right?”
Jin Ling looks away, but the conversation doesn’t change.
“He’s worried about communication and response time,” says Lan Jingyi. “He’s always said it’s a cultivator’s job to go where the need is.”
“If more people can identify a problem, or know the right techniques, it won’t get out of hand,” Ouyang Zizhen agrees. “And with more sects, there are more cultivators in more places. It makes sense.”
“He travels.” All eyes shift to Lan Sizhui, who looks only at Wei Wuxian. “That’s part of what you mean, isn’t it? When Lianfang-zun was Chief Cultivator, everyone went to Lanling to speak with him. To the home of the Jin Sect. But Hanguang-jun doesn’t accept as many visiting parties. Most of the time, he goes to them.”
Lan Jingyi’s face scrunches up, doubtful. “I thought that was because he didn’t want to host so many banquets.”
“He still has to attend just as many,” Lan Sizhui points out. “Maybe more, even.”
“He’s staying neutral,” Jin Ling says, sudden and with an expression like he’s even surprising himself. “He can’t speak for Gusu Lan. That’s why Grandmaster Qiren is still at every conference. Because he’s Chief Cultivator, but not Sect Leader.”
That seems to be some sort of breaking point—several people start talking at once, and Wei Wuxian slowly eases himself out of the circle; he’s not needed anymore, and he should probably see himself out before Sect Leader Yao feels forced to offer him a place to sleep. Also, he’s out of wine.
Lan Sizhui meets him at the gates.
“Tell him we’re happy to help, with anything.”
Wei Wuxian frowns at him, confused. “Tell who?”
“Hanguang-jun. When you see him.” Lan Sizhui smiles and pets Little Apple’s nose. “Tell him we want to help. Even Jin Ling, though he might grumble about it.”
Wei Wuxian feels a sudden pang of homesickness—for the familiar walls of Lotus Pier, and for Lan Wangji’s steady presence at his side. But traveling to Yunmeng is no better an idea now that it was this afternoon.
“Ah, A-Yuan,” he says, “you can tell him yourself. You’ll probably see him before I do.”
Lan Sizhui looks doubtful, but he doesn’t argue. He seems to hesitate a moment, and then he sort of lunges into Wei Wuxian’s side and hugs him.
“What—”
“Thank you,” Lan Sizhui says as Wei Wuxian tries to figure out what to do with his hands. They’ve only done this a few times, still, and he’s not entirely sure what’s allowed when, and he’s desperately anxious to not mess it up.
“For what?” he asks, settling his free hand on Lan Sizhui’s back.
“For helping us,” Lan Sizhui says, almost at a whisper, and Wei Wuxian is sure they’re not talking about the gaggle of young cultivators in the garden anymore. He tightens the curl of his arm.
“You don’t need to thank me, A-Yuan. I—”
“Ning-shushu told me a little,” Lan Sizhui interrupts him, the words half-muffled in his collar. “And I’ve heard—I know all the same stories as the rest of them. I mean it. Thank you.”
Wei Wuxian shakes his head, but he doesn’t protest aloud again. Instead he wraps his other arm around Lan Sizhui as well, and tucks his chin over Lan Sizhui’s white-clad shoulder. He watches the gauzy clouds drift slowly across the brightness of the moon and makes a silent promise:
This time, they’ll do better.

DW Potential Additions Tier List
So I made some spreadsheets but decided I was putting in too much work so here’s a quick summary.
I was grading on a scale of 1-5. 1 was characters I really don’t htink would add anything good, but who I thought some might suggest (like Cao Zhi, Jia Nanfeng, Pan Zhang, Zhao Guang, Zhang Ren, etc.) 2 is people who could maybe work under very specific circumstances, like a big narrative shift or a lot of related characters being added, or who might be fine but aren’t nearly as good as some other options (like Cheng Yu, Cao Xi, Wu Jing, Mi Zhu, or Gao Gan). These don’t really make the cut for discussion, so if you don’t see a name you’re expecting, I probably put them in one of those tiers for some reason.
Tier 3 are characters who would be fine. Just fine. They either did enough to make themselves noteworthy, or have enough of a connecting to existing narrative and cast that they’d probably add something worthwhile. Not the ones I’d be most excited about, but the ones I couldn’t make too many complaints over.
Tier 4 are great adds. Characters I really want to see, who could really expand the cast in worthwhile ways.
Tier 5 are characters I forget aren’t in these games already because why are they not here?
I’m not going to explain every decision here because I’m sure there will be followup questions. Yes, I’m aware that Jin is overrepresented, because it’s the smallest of the main factions.
