Wanted to give all my rarepairs/crackships but 30 tags isn't enough
What is... a rarepair?
Rarepair refers to a rare pairing inside a fandom. This means that a pairing that someone ships does not have a lot of fanart or fanfiction about them or anything at all.
While crackships are always rarepairs, these rare pairings can make a lot of sense in canon, but they are just not that popular. But they often also refer to shipping characters that do not interact in canon at all, maybe not even know each other in the source material.
There are no exact numbers on when a pairing is considered a rarepair but some characteristics are that the tag on AO3 does not have a lot of hits and that most of the entries were written by the same person.
Shipping a rarepair can be frustrating, when you feel like you are alone in your love for a pairing, but it can also be fun to be able to shape the pairing together with two, three other shippers however you want them, because you basically own the ship by solely contributing to it.

Nekoma Manager Headcanons
Tumblr media
To start: talk about chaos.
I imagine the manager!reader as a 2nd year, as stated in my first one shot.
You look up to the third years, though the way you and Kuroo act you'd never admit it to his face.
Once you grow comfortable with the team, and vice versa, the two of you bicker like siblings.
Kai is who you gravitate to the most, he's so calm and quiet, you two grew closer faster because of this.
Yaku and Kuroo were both lowkey jealous; they both work on being doting upperclassmen in their own ways and now their manager is anxious around them? Heartbroken.
The first years think you hung the stars.
Lev is always trying to impress you with his moves, which more than often results in him missing a spike or getting hit in the face with what was supposed to be a receive.
Most of his failed attempts end with Yaku scolding him and you are torn between allowing him to shape his team and stepping in to play peacemaker.
Shibayama is the first team member to confide in you regarding any anxiety they had while playing; he compares himself to Yaku so much that it broke your heart, you two talked and you made him see he had made the team for a reason, and he left feeling much better.
Teshiro is more awkward or shy when approaching you, he may have been a first-year when you met him, but he knew the team hadn't had a manager in a long time. He was worried they might scare you off, specifically one of the... second years... But you stuck around! He liked to be around you, even if neither of you talked all the time, your presence was enjoyable. He also tended to be one of the only members (he and Kai) that didn't get scolded or yelled at.
Inuoka reminds you of a puppy, regardless of being on the team of "cats". He was actually the first member of the team to fully approach you, more than a simple introduction. He was so excited that you were their manager, it definitely helped you feel a lot more comfortable. Did you process everything he said to you? No. Was it endearing as hell? Yes.
If Kenma isn't sitting with Kuroo on bus rides he's sitting with you, you enjoy watching him playing his games, that or he enjoys the peace whenever you nap on the bus. Once he even let you play a game on his switch. Once.
Yamamoto is really excited to show you off at any and all practice matches they have. You're so supportive of them all that it makes him really emotional, and you've learned to just pat his head and walk away. You once showed up to an away game with your nails painted in your team colors and you watched that man genuinely weep.
Fukanaga loves to make you laugh whenever the team's quiet or having a more serious meeting. He learned your humor so fast it's dangerous. You can never be upset around him, he reads you like an open book, and whatever worry follows you around is quickly destroyed by him and his shining personality.
Like I said; you and Kuroo have a sibling like relationship once you're comfortable with the team. He leans his arm against your head like a headrest, you make fun of his attempts of sounding cool. The team finds it hilarious, and other than Yaku and Kenma, you're one of the few people he's terrified to piss off.
Kai is the upperclassman you look up to the most, he's calm and collected, smart and nice. He's everything you strive to be as a student and an upperclassman. He helps you study, he helped you learn about volleyball and all the info that comes with that when you first joined, he made sure to include you in any and all group hangouts when you were new.
Kai supremacy.
Yaku and you have, not to sound like I'm stuck in the 2020 fandom, but "parenting" personalities together. Yaku yells at Lev, you follow behind by telling Lev you two care about him and just want to see him get better! Yaku may worry when a teammate gets minorly injured, but you fret, despite knowing minor injuries occur in this sport. The time where you're on the same page exactly is whenever you take the opportunity to bully Kuroo.
He hates it.
I have to say: years ago when I first got into Haikyuu I made an OC for it, and she was Nekoma's manager. This entire thing is self-indulgent. If I was any good at art I'd have so many comic series with her. Sad.
Also I just saw the movie so I am hyperfocused on my boys.

first hug with the nekoma members
I happened to do some research and apparently it’s considered rude in Japan to hug people :’) and it’s something usually only couples do, so why not write some first hug prompts with my fav team, yay! i always see first kiss but my touch starved ass believes in hug supremacy
type: fluff, gn!reader (implied female at yamamotos) x nekoma boys (unfortunately no teshiro)
warnings: none! maybe yamamoto being silly 🤗 also lowercase intended, not proof read so sorry for any typos !!
summary: you hugging your friend (who happens to have a crush on you) for the first time!
#1 TETSURŌ KUROO
when you approached the captain after practice, he wasn’t surprised. you guys would often walk to the train station together with kenma, so he assumed this was the case. “hey! finished everything up already?” you chirped, arriving in front of him and smiling. he nodded, gesturing at his bag and humming. “kenma’s still getting changed.” taking the chance of him extending his arm, you slipped below and pressed your body against his chest. he froze up for a second, about to hug you back until you had already slipped away from his touch. he beat himself up about it later </3
#2 NOBUYUKI KAI
“need some help?” his voice echoed in your ears and you spun around in surprise. “ah, kai! good morning! yes, i’d appreciate that.” you had been trying to build up the net for practice and kai had luckily arrived shortly after you. he fixed your mistake with ease, finishing it up faster than you expected. “all done.” he spoke, giving you a thumbs up. you hesitated, but gave him a quick hug that was extended by kai tightning his grip around you and patting your back a few times, before finally releasing you. in the end, you were more flustered about it than him.
#3 MORISUKE YAKU
“y’know, yaku, i think you’re a bit harsh on lev sometimes.” you spoke, facing the 3rd year. he stayed silent for a second, before speaking. “he deserves it.” before he was able to move on, you continued. “i don’t think you’re that short though, yakkun. it’s great for hugging!” a light red hue spread along his cheeks, him turning away from you. that was, until he felt your arms wrap around his body and he completely froze up, somehow being able to reciprocate your touch. “see?”
#4 TAKETORA YAMAMOTO
it’s no secret that yamamoto was scared to talk to girls, but you wanted to change that. when you found out why he was avoiding you, you did your best on befriending him and somehow managed to do it after two weeks of being the manager. yamamoto had insisted on walking you home, so you complied after his constant begging all day. arriving in front of your home, he bowed before you and wished you a good night. he started walking off until you grabbed his wrist and pulled him into your embrace. let’s just say, you broke him.
#5 KENMA KOZUME
with kenma, the hug was out of nowhere. the boys had just returned from their run (even though it was very cold outside) and most of them were warmed up, except for one certain member. he was pathetically standing next to kuroo, shaking like a madman, and you shook your head at his carelessness. you approached him, looking at him one last time before pressing your body against his in an attempt to warm him up. his cheeks heated up, but he didn’t really know what to do so he simply wrapped his free arm around you lazily, enjoying the heat. the rest of the boys couldn’t help but feel slightly jealous.
#6 SHŌHEI FUKUNAGA
when you saw shōhei getting the balls with inuoka, you just got hit with the urge randomly. he was there and you were cold, so why not? you got up from the bench, putting your notebook and pencil down and jogged over to him. he looked at you in silence, waiting for you to say something until you opened your arms and looked at him expectantly. he tried to understand what you were doing, inuoka having to come for help and pushed him forward slightly. finally getting at your idea, he shyly complied and wrapped his arms around you. when you parted, he was as red as a tomato.
#7 SŌ INUOKA
in this case, inuoka was actually the one who initiated the hug. while on a walk, he saw a couple hugging and his mind immediatly wandered to you, happy with the idea he just got. once he entered the gym building after changing into his correct attire, his eyes landed on you and he jogged over to your side, grinning at you. “ah, good morning sō! do you need something?” you smiled up at him. he nodded. “can i hug you?” he asked, you blushing a little bit at his direct behavior. “oh! sure!” you agreed, standing up and extending your arms for him. he squeezed you against him tightly, you laughing a bit at his intensity. he hugged you more often after that :)
#11 LEV HAIBA
like inuoka, he was the one that initiated the hug. since one of his parents was european, hugging was normal in his family and he just wanted to do it one day when he saw you all cuddled up in a jacket you borrowed from a friend. he thought you looked cute, so he went up to you and engulfed your body in his arms. “oi- lev?!” you exclaimed, surprised at his gesture. nonetheless he didn’t let go, and waited until you hugged him back to release his grip.
#12 YŪKI SHIBAYAMA
“yūki, could you help me with this?” you called out, showing him a riddle on your phone. he nodded, sitting down next to you and explaining it to you, waiting until you finally understood. in that moment you were just grateful for his help, and didn’t hesitate from getting up and hugging him quickly. personally he thought it was too short, ignoring the small blush on his face at the sudden body contact. he definitely gave you multiple hints of wanting another hug after that.

By Lev Koufax
Even before the events of 2023, Reese rose to prominence in the broader basketball world not only because of her prowess on the court. Reese is a strong and outspoken advocate for the rights of Black women.
Furthermore, she was one of the first big college stars to embrace the new “Name,  Image, and Likeness” deals. College athletes finally could be paid for their labor after the Supreme Court found that the NCAA’s restrictions on such deals violated the Sherman Antitrust Act. This SCOTUS decision forced the NCAA’s hand, which soon after voted to allow “NIL” deals.
Reese and many others immediately and understandably took the opportunity to finally take a small share of the mega profits being raked in by the NCAA industrial complex. In reality, nobody should make money from the players’ labor except the players.
Due to the general capitalist backlash against NIL money and the racist backlash against Reese personally for her Black pride, Reese has become somewhat of a controversial figure, meaning she is constantly disrespected in the big business media.

oikawa is also always on the mind. another selfish brat!!! what can i say—i like breaking them <3 i think there's a masochistic streak but he also looooves being babied imo. big time
AND !!! lev haiba would be fun as well ngl. he's like a big 6'4" child. i just have a feeling he'd be into having someone else take control sometimes
i could go on forever!!!

(JTA) – Over the past few weeks, tributes to Ukrainian Nazi collaborators in North America have led to local and international upheaval.
On Tuesday, the speaker of the Canadian House of Commons resigned after saluting a 98-year-old man who had fought for one such unit, commonly referred to as as the Waffen SS or SS Galichina. And in Philadelphia, a controversy surrounding the same unit played out on a smaller scale: Local Jewish groups protested a monument to the SS division in a Catholic cemetery in the suburb of Elkins Park, and local Catholic leaders covered it up.
But in a third instance where the same SS unit is being honored, the local Jewish reaction has been far more muted. After learning about an SS Galichina memorial in a Detroit suburb, that city’s Jewish Community Relations Council told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency it did not intend to make a fuss over it.
“I believe we could use this to positively have a dialogue with our Ukrainian neighbors, but don’t think it would be worth it to make a statement of condemnation or asking for its removal,” Daniel Bucksbaum of the Detroit JCRC/AJC said in an email.
The memorials in Detroit and Philadelphia, and the nonagenarian’s Nazi past, were all first reported by Lev Golinkin, a writer for the Forward. He has cataloged monuments to Nazis and their collaborators around the world, and in the Detroit case, detailed a memorial “dedicated to Ukrainian and Ukrainian-American veterans” on a private bank in the suburb of Warren. Veterans of SS Galichina are named as one of the monument’s sponsors — though they’re referred to by a different name on the structure.
Rabbi Asher Lopatin, who heads the Detroit JCRC/AJC, said he was developing a relationship with the local Ukrainian community and said “discussing history and past antisemitism will definitely be part of this process.” But he said he would be hesitant to press the issue of the SS Galichina memorial at present, in part because of Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.
“I believe the time is now to support Ukraine, and defending itself against Russia,” Lopatin wrote in an email. He added, “There certainly is a lot to do, but there is a right time for everything and also a wrong time for everything.”
There are existing ties between the local Ukrainian and Jewish communities. Lopatin has attended ceremonies commemorating the Holodomor, the Soviet-imposed famine that caused millions of Ukrainians to starve to death in the 1930s (and which some far-right Ukrainians blame on the Jews). A Ukrainian museum in Hamtramck, a Detroit suburb with significant Ukrainian, Polish and Yemeni populations, has also offered to host an upcoming exhibit of Yemeni Jewish art.
Lopatin also believes the intentions behind the Warren memorial may not be sinister. “There is a difference between honoring a genocidal regiment or saying that their veterans gave [money] for a general memorial for Ukrainian Veterans,” he told JTA.
Golinkin, however, called the Detroit Jewish groups’ silence “shameful.”
“It’s astounding that, during a global surge of white supremacy and Holocaust distortion, Jewish organizations in Detroit are electing to remain silent about a monument to the SS in their city,” the writer told JTA.
The mayor of Warren, James Fouts, told the Forward that “there’s not even a minute chance that we would support anything like this,” but added, “I don’t think we can do much for a monument on private land.”
The varying responses point to the difficulties American Jews have long faced in navigating relationships with their Ukrainian neighbors, both during Ukraine’s current war with Russia and historically. Ukraine’s allies in the West during its current conflict have been reluctant to bring up its Nazi history at the same time that Russian propaganda has tried to paint the present invasion as a war of “denazification.”
Jonathan Sarna, a professor of American Jewish history at Brandeis University who was also heavily involved in the movement to free Soviet Jewry, told JTA that many of the same issues were present during that movement’s heyday in the 1970s and 1980s.
“It was awkward,” Sarna said. He recalled that Jewish activists of that era broke bread with Ukrainian nationalists, who were also opposed to the Soviets. The Jewish activists were pushing for the USSR to allow Jews to emigrate, while the Ukrainian activists protested that the Soviet Union had robbed their country of independence.
“There was an effort to explain, but it was difficult,” Sarna said. Ukrainians had tried to get the Jewish community to appear at celebrations honoring General Roman Shukhevych, who fought in the Ukrainian Insurgent Army alongside Nazi forces. “It served as a reminder that, yes, there was a common enemy in those days, the Soviet Union. But on the other hand, there was also a lot of distinctive history that precluded too close a tie.”
Local Jewish leaders’ reactions to the Philadelphia monument were far more vocal. Soon after the Forward identified a three-decade-old monument depicting the insignias of the SS Galichina division in a Catholic cemetery in the suburb of Elkins Park, the local Jewish federation condemned it.
That led other Jewish groups, including the American Jewish Committee and the Anti-Defamation League, to issue their own condemnations. Ukrainians should “recognize that this cannot remain,” the AJC said. (Lopatin’s group is affiliated with the AJC but in this case is departing from the national organization’s approach.)
Soon, the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia, which operates the cemetery, covered up the memorial, announcing on Facebook that it would pursue community discussions “in order to prevent vandalism and with the goal of conducting an objective dialogue with sensitivity to all concerned.”
Yet when it comes to the Philadelphia memorial, not all Jews are aligned in opposition. A controversial Ukrainian Jewish communal organization has voiced support for the monument.
“Indication that the monument must be dismantled ‘as soon as possible’ is inconsistent with a format for discussions on historical subjects in the twenty-first century,” Vaad of Ukraine said in a statement, alleging that some of “the published articles” about the monument “resemble KGB falsifications.”
Leaders of the group, which partners with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, an aid group, and claims to represent the interests of more than 250 Ukrainian Jewish groups, say they have not seen evidence that “the soldiers in whose memory this monument was raised thirty years ago” were involved in war crimes.
Vaad of Ukraine has come under fire in the past for defending Ukrainian Nazi collaborators, and for claiming in 2018 that Russia was manipulating U.S. efforts to condemn Ukraine for honoring those same Nazi-affiliated figures. Dozens of other Ukrainian Jewish organizations have stated that the group and its leaders “do not represent all Ukrainian Jews.”

Lev Gerstle
Hi y'all! My name is Lev Gerstle. I'm 29 and I've been playing ultimate since my freshman year of college. I currently live in Hawai'i, but I've bounced around and also lived/played ultimate in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Australia. My ultimate highlights include being the B-team captain for Dickinson College, founding the first club team from Hawai'i to compete in the series in 11 years, and most recently serving as one of the mixed coordinators for Kaimana Klassik. Outside of ultimate I'm a marine biologist working on some projects for the City and County of Honolulu. Excited to spend this week talking about D3 ultimate supremacy, conspiracy theories, Jewish holidays, brain surgery, and anything else that happens to pop into my head. Feel free to shoot me a DM or tweet at me with any questions!

You know what I’m thinking about today?
How Lev could have very easily put an arrow through Tommy’s head and killed him when he attacked Abby in the theater, but he didn’t.
How I imagine, even besides that, Lev is probably the reason Tommy is still alive in the end. He probably would have bled out from the literal gunshot wound to the head if he hadn’t gotten help pretty much immediately afterwards.
It would have been a while before Ellie or Dina mustered up the strength to get up. And I doubt they’d be in any rush to go back out to the lobby just to find their friends’ dead bodies. Ellie literally saw him shot in the head, no way she thought he was still alive.
They were probably very surprised (and relived) to see that Tommy wasn’t gone too.
I have no doubt that after being instructed to guard the exits, Lev saw that the man was still breathing and did his best save him. He probably tried to patch him up or at the very least put pressure on his wound. Maybe he even sat him upright against the concession stand to help stop the bleeding
The point is I think Tommy is alive in the end bc of Lev. And that trying to save him is absolutely something Lev would do.

If I met Nekoma I would…
Kuroo: fist fight him. Then talk to him about fish (like. The nutrition n stuff) and make fun of our friends together. Just fuck around.
He’s my official kin (one of ‘em) we’d have some fun. I guess that’s it. We’d have a good time being li’l shits together. (Gremlins?)
Kai: observe people with him?
He’s observant and knows how to help people out. He’s be a good dude to vibe with.
Yaku: call him short. Then stupid for liking meat. Dummy.
Meat makes me feel sick. And fish does have heavy metals (those suck to get rid of if you have too much in ur system) but you supplement protein in other ways. Fuck meat.
Yamamoto: talk about guts with him.
What does he define guts as? Can everybody show them? So they have to be worked for? Very headstrong too. The kinda thing I’m into. I love mental strength. He’s another love of my life. Not as loyal (?) as Tanaka but he still seems like a really good friend.
Kenma: avoid eye contact. And maybe talk about sensory tools he could use and be able to keep his hair short.
We both got sensory overload. And the hair trick works wonders but can be inconvenient sometimes. Like if you work in a kitchen. You have to tie your hair back. And in my case, wear a hat. I got overwhelmed a lot for a lot of reasons before I quit.
Fukunaga: laugh at his jokes and make some too
My dude is funny. He’s a comfort character. Because of course he is. You can only have comfort characters with barely any screen-time and/or who are way under appreciated. Or interpreted in the dumbest ways. For fuck’s sake dude. This’ll pop up again when I do Shiratorizawa. I’m very tired.
Inuoka: avoid him?
He got a lot of energy. I’d be overwhelmed real quick. And we don’t see enough of him for me to want to talk to him. 🤷🏻
Teshiro: who?
Dude has less screen time than Fukunaga, damn.
Lev: kick him
Idk. I just wanna.
Shibayama: pat his head? Call him a good libero maybe.
He’s good at his position. Don’t see much else of him. Small young boy. He’s doin’ a good job.
