Wanted to give all my rarepairs/crackships but 30 tags isn't enough

What is... a rarepair?

Rarepair refers to a rare pairing inside a fandom. This means that a pairing that someone ships does not have a lot of fanart or fanfiction about them or anything at all.

While crackships are always rarepairs, these rare pairings can make a lot of sense in canon, but they are just not that popular. But they often also refer to shipping characters that do not interact in canon at all, maybe not even know each other in the source material.

There are no exact numbers on when a pairing is considered a rarepair but some characteristics are that the tag on AO3 does not have a lot of hits and that most of the entries were written by the same person.

Shipping a rarepair can be frustrating, when you feel like you are alone in your love for a pairing, but it can also be fun to be able to shape the pairing together with two, three other shippers however you want them, because you basically own the ship by solely contributing to it.

this episode was pretty good, i'm here for this vibe if they continue with it. lots of shit happened, i have feelings about it so lets go!

KATE: As stated above and addition, I started to be cool with you. You still have to go jail but after serving time, I might be cool with you afterwards. Then you flip flop again went back to doing the worst. Limiting the comments doesn't help. Raggedy.

RAFA: PRISON. And let me tell you, my boy, Aki, he got Fox News in the back of his pocket so, step the fuck back. That's why Max figured yo ass out. GO TO PRISON. PRISON. And he tried to play him for a fool at the end. Prison isn't enough, vanish.

KIKI: SIS! You gotta get it together for your daughter. She can't be the more but, I feel you. Do better, be better. It's not as easy as just saying it but if you have family you can rely on, start to rely. You're daughter her habits from you.

OUR KIDS:

JULIEN: BIG SISTER ENGERY THIS EPISODE. I'M LOVING IT AND LOVING IT. I think she can stop trying a bit now and but I'm here for the connection, I'm here for it all. Quick thinker, knew the circle wasn't tight. She wasn't really there for Audrey but she has been, I think she just got caught up. Since Zoya moved there, they haven't had the chance to just be sisters, to just love each other without any drama. They have not only the past month to make up for but years and she wants to do right by Zoya. I'm glad she realized at the end that, she needed to be there for Audrey but I'm not upset because I get it. I also LOVE that she finally, stood up to Monet and say and get wit it or get it out. Boom. I've been waiting.

OBIE: I wanna ride hard for you because people keep talking about your hair line. I think you need to learn that relationships will have ups and downs and it won't be perfect all of the time. I feel like Obie is chasing perfection, no fights, no problems, just coasting and it won't happen, it'll never happen. Do better. That being said, I'm glad we got something from Obie. I'm glad we got to see him being the Prince of New York. It's hella shady that you didn't just come out with the truth and you wanted to do a song and dance but Obie is doing more and using that name so yes, give me character stuff.

MONET: BYE. No, but really. Amazing one liners as always. I liked the little fight with Julien, I felt a bit of distress, I'm into it. While I did expect her to cross Julien, I didn't expect her to cross Luna and all her hard work, that was dirty but you moving the story and shit so what can I say? I don't think Monet will go for the crown but I could see her finding someone to prop up. I want more of her parents, maybe she has a very bad relationship with her mom? Also, sis, Julien is right, you can't keep jumping clients when they want to change and do up their image. No sis, no. (And you almost tanked Julien's career soooooooooooo)

AUDREY: SIS U WERE SINKING. Okay, so Audrey isn't a character I feel that connected too. She's bitchy, a little less than Lunet but still. So, I have a hard time caring but objectively, you should break up with Aki. You know him by now and maybe it's comfort or you really want to have something. It's okay, break up with him because he's a friend and not the boyfriend you need. You want someone who will let you vent, not solve. Not see. Go live with Julien. The fight with your mom is understandable (And realize that forcing people on her won't work.) because you shouldn't have to be the back bone of the family. The dad line was a low blow, the airport thing was a low blow but you're a teenage girl and what can I say? Nothing, just don't become the woman you hate even though parents are the models. That being said, if I had seen her interacting with her dad more, the line wouldn't have been as low. But I can't tell that he loves her, we don't even get a phone conversation. Do better writers. And I think at the party, she got a chance to see how her mom felt. I don't know what happened to move but I think it has something to do with her meds. Audrey, be a boss. Break up, tell him that ya'll are better as friends because it won't go has bad as you think it will. Move in with Julien (I just want to see it happen.)

ZOYA: I don't even have much to say. My sis was popping off this episode. I got sass, I got questioning her relationship with Obie. Yes, talk about how you feel about him with the girls and go girl stuff. I really felt her when she said she wanted her own friend, writers please give her, her own friends. PLEASE. I'M BEGGING. Simon, you dirty dog. I'm glad Obie got it out but he could've said something to her. I'm sick. I'm more upset that he wasn't a new friend or a love interest. Just ugh. But I liked Zoya this episode, she could worry about normal teenage stuff for the most part without having to worry about being attacked by Monet and Luna.

LUNA: MY GOOD SIS. Just like I didn't expect Monet to turn on her, I didn't expect her to not stand by Monet. I know she was enjoying the Zoya vibe and thought it was cute, she was becoming a bit more friendly sure but I wow, yas. Go off girl. I want to see more of fashion stylist Luna, a Luna sponsored fashion show where Aki models and drama happens? I'd be here for it, I am here for it.

MAX: I was ready to box. Listen. I was ready to fight this point as much as I felt for him. So, the feeling for him. He honestly, believes that Rafa is good for him. And he was catching feelings? He thought Rafa needed him in his life because he had no family, he also has no family in a sense to him at least. So, he's really caught up in this man. And I feel so bad that he said he's sober when he's with him or something along those lines. That's heartbreaking. I'm glad that talk in the end pulled him out of it, I'm glad he realized that he had a hand to play in his friends not wanting to be around him or deal with him. I'm glad he followed them and was in on the hug. Wonderful. Now my dude, you do not deserve Aki, not as a romantic partner or a friend. My boy was seriously worried, and you blew down on him WHILE using a nickname for his nickname....sick. I was ready to throw hands, like. My spirit was not right. That was so low. I keep seeing people say that because Max wasn't in a relationship, Audrey shouldn't feel some type of way and Aki is just letting his hurt roll off because he's worried but while you didn't have a duty in the relationship, you had a duty as a friend, to both of them. You ghost for a week and say nothing, no talking about the blow up or the outing and you running with this little stanky thing, you try to ease back into the group, no. And you still don't deserve Aki's time. Like. My dude did not hit you up after the kiss, he was not checking for you on that dating app, he was interested in other mens, you sat between the couple. Okay. He had been checking on you from jump. Just no. I'm sick of the shit. Never step to my boy like that again.

AKI: MY boy. Lemme get this out the way. You need to listen, not solve or give perspective. Like, she doesn't need it. I get your friends in danger but express how serious you think this is to her. I get that a long-distance relationship might not bother you and you think things will work out because there are bigger problems but talk to her. Re-assure her. Or break up with her her. As I said before, ya'll will not hate each other if you break up. And learn to just, even, pretend or something but you struggle in this aspect. Do better. That being said, Aki, episode MVP. He said, something is off, take him down. My perfect himbo man, said not my watch. And listen, you can't be as pushy because people don't respond but I'm glad you were on it. You knew. You said, I'mma run up on this man and you did. Yes. That being said, stand up for yourself, this boy does not deserve your energy. I get it. You might have a crush, this is bestie but bestie has not been treating you right for a while. And this was a new love. You're too loving, let some of that going at Rafa energy pop out around the friend group. But you a king and you care so much, just re-focus for now. Find you a cute lil thang and make the boy jelly. I need this resolved before I can accept anything canon, fanfics is where I'll be. But overall, Aki was making moves, you gotta learn something from the right wing media mogul.

GROUP: I finally feel like I talk about them as a whole. I wish they would've shown the others being upset by Max's ghosting because ya'll acting lowkey outta pocket and I didn't see anyone but Audrey and Aki check for this boy. Like, do you really care? But he fit into the group hug at the end. I know Monet saw a rising star in Zoya at the bar place, you make this a powerful DUO. YOU KNOW YOU WERE FEELING HER. Luna and Monet roll their eyes Audrey but ya'll bet not play like the three of ya'll don't enjoy gossip, fashion, talking about people and lowkey making fun of Zoya's newbie-ness together. Honestly, I'm happy we got more group interactions and little moments, I can start to kind of see how they were friends for a while even if all of them aren't close.

When I started shipping them: idefk when it happened? initually they weren’t even supposed to be a romantic ship but it gradually grew into it and i’m more than okay with that

My thoughts: tbh it’s one of my favorite ships to write, because of all the tiny lil headcanons. this ship is the prime example as to why i love talking to my partners ooc, bc that’s when these things happen. 

What makes me happy about them: the fact that both of them would literally die for the other. like actually die. or go to prison. it’s one of those kinds of love that has been growing for so long that it’s not likely to go anywhere. 

What makes me sad about them: it not being canon does that count? but just the idea of when juice goes to jail and erica is just a not so hot fucking mess (tm). she’s absolutely lost without him.

Least Favorite character: Chuck. He was an insufferable, coarse, and completely unnecessary character. 

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Jetra. Petramos (which I still wish we’d called Jetramos). Villadero. Jafael, but really only s1-s2 Jafael. Petra/Rafael. 

Character I find most attractive: Petra, have you seen her?

Character I would marry: Jane, most definitely. She’s a lovely human being with so much kindness in her soul and I want to spend time with her and give her all the nice things she deserves.

Character I would be best friends with: Also Jane for the reasons stated above.

a random thought: I really loved this show from s1-s2 and since then its lost a bit of its spark for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a great show, but there’s a certain magic in those first 2 seasons that I think got lost. (Or honestly maybe it’s just that I’m not into the whole parenting-and-kids thing and the show became more about that cerca s3b and beyond). 

An unpopular opinion: Don’t know how unpopular this is, but: I prefer original Jetra. Over the seasons we’ve watched their relationship grow into something unexpectedly lovely and sweet, the chemistry is amazing, and they could’ve had such a good slow-burn. Of course I love JR/Petra too, but Jane/Petra will always have a special place in my heart.

My Canon OTP: Petramos - they’re delightful and I still can’t believe they’re canon, what a blessing. And Villadero (please, s5, do not ruin them for me). 

My Non-canon OTP: Jetra is my everything

Most Badass Character: Petra! I liked her right from s1 because of that (even though she was the antagonist and I was supposed to be rooting against her … oops). 

Most Epic Villain: Rose is beautiful and a BAMF and I kind of love it.

Pairing I am not a fan of: Petra/Chuck was honestly revolting. And I hated every single minute of Jane/Adam except the bi episode. 

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Tbqh Rafael. In S3B he felt very different than s2/s3a - which I get is because of the timejump and prison, but since we never saw any of that it was weird to jump into ‘zen Rafael’ and him being Jane’s best friend. And then in s4 he was an asshole half the time and I was not happy about it.

Favourite Friendship: ALL OF THEM! The Villanuevas. Jane and Petra. Rafael and Jane. Xiomara and Alba. Petra and Rafael. Jane and Rogelio. Jane and Xiomara. Marlene and Jane. This show has such good platonic relationships and it’s one of my favorite things about it.

Character I most identify with: Maybe Jane in s1, but now she’s too mature for me to identify with haha

Character I wish I could be: I don’t want to be any of them, their lives are so chaotic!

Sirius Black for the ask game

So this is surprisingly difficult, because Sirius is such a fan favorite, so it’s hard to ignore fanon!Sirius. I’m not being entirely successful, and I’m not sure I really want to. (And I’m gonna tell you a deep, dark fandom secret: I don’t even really care about the Marauders era.)

Why I like them: So I love that Sirius didn’t have to be 100% okay or flawless in order to be a positive presence in Harry’s life. Like, Sirius is a walking disaster, but he so obviously loves Harry, and knowing that Sirius loves him is enough for Harry to value him.

Why I don’t: He was honestly kind of a jerk, though. Like, didn’t really understand treating people well or why you should.

Favorite episode (scene if movie): Okay, so I have to pick one from the actual books. The Black family tree, I think. It gives us a surprising amount of insight into both Sirius and wizard society.

Favorite season/movie: Goblet of Fire. I love the lengths Sirius is willing to go to in order to be there for Harry. And I love that the narrative treats it as an act of love and values it for that reason, even though coming back and living in a cave in Hogsmede is objectively incredibly stupid of him. Like, at no point in the plot is it, “Wow, good thing Sirius is here, everything would go to heck if he wasn’t.” All he accomplished was to demonstrate that he cared about Harry.

OTP: So I ship Wolfstar, though no disrespect to those who don’t (just don’t try to tell me my boy Sirius was straight). Mostly because the fanon around it is so strong. I think they could have had something if the first war hadn’t ruined that entire generation’s lives. And, because they are were both walking disasters, I think they would have tried to make it work post-Azkaban. Who knows, they might even have managed eventually if Sirius hadn’t died.

Head Canon: Just one? Okay, here’s one I don’t see everywhere. (This comes from @nonasuch in her excellent Dogfather AU.) The reason Dumbledore was content to see Sirius chucked in prison after a sham trial was that he saw echoes of himself and Grindelwald in Remus and Sirius, and was ready to believe the worst of Sirius as a result.

Unpopular opinion: Sirius was always a disaster. There was no huge blow-up among the marauders after The Prank, because that was the kind of stupid s*** people expected of Sirius, and if you were still his friend at age 15, you knew what to expect.

Kendall grabs Andy’s hand instantly pulling him off in one direction away from all the chaos as yelling fills the air behind them. They glance over their shoulder to see Andy holding a pail of water balloons, running with them as fast as they can. Kendall sees Lucas grab Ava throwing her over his shoulder running her away with him from the direct splash zone, Britney’s screams filling the air about her designer top with Lily pulling her along laughing, Stacy and Dan throwing balloons after the other groups holding down the middle Stacy using Dan’s skills as an athlete to her advantage.

“I didn’t think Stacy and Dan would get the middle,” Kendall says in Andy’s direction.

“Can’t say I’m surprised. Two natural born athletes on the same team. If Lucas was more ruthless, Ava and him would be in the middle.” Andy yells back, as they come to a stop by a tree beside a hedge maze. Both leaning over trying to catch their breath, Kendall using Andy as a support beam. “Sucks for Stace and Dan though, the middle is so open.”

“That’s what I was thinking.” Kendall replies, “You could definitely get ambushed in the middle. Stacy and Dan are going to dominate the field with access to all the balloons, it’s not long before they manage to take all the balloons.”

“Are you suggesting we rush them?” Andy asks with a smirk, getting a laugh from his partner. “Because I’m game.”

“We can’t rush them, Dan may be a sweetheart, but Stacy takes no prisoners. She texted me 7 different messages to tell me I’m going to lose to her.” Kendall laughs, sitting down onto the floor next to maze, placing the water few water balloons she grabbed beside her. “We should probably-” Before Kendall can finish a water balloon explodes on their shoulder shooting water flying everywhere splashing them in the face as they instantly jump up into a stance. “Who did that?”

Only Andy stands before them with, trying to suppress a laugh and a grin. They narrow their eyes on him, “I didn’t do it.” Andy offers instantly in response, the grin gracing his handsome features instantly betraying his lies. “I would never, you know that.” He says as he starts to laugh this time.

“Oh really?” Kendall asks grabbing a water balloon from beside them, chucking it at Andy before he can respond as it explodes against his chest sucking him with water. “I did it. Checkmate” They grin as Andy shakes out his hand water flying from his arm watching them with an amused smile. “Your move.”

“Are we doing this?” He asks with a grin, grabbing another water balloon. “I’m going to crush you. I picked you up, if you think I won’t take you down, you’re underestimating my inner Stacy.” A loud laugh follows from both of them, Kendall thinking back to Stacy competitive nature and the seven messages on their phone, that they no longer cared about taking her down, but taking down Andy.

“I don’t back down,” Kendall replies, grabbing two balloons off the floor. “Catch me if you can!” They shout before ducking into the hedge maze beside them. They run into it takes the first 3 rights they can, hearing Andy’s footsteps coming from the other side of the maze wall behind them. “I’m going to get you, Andy!”

“Not if I get you first!” Andy yells, as his footsteps disappear into the maze. Fuck, Kendall curses to themselves running through the maze in hoops of hearing or finding Andy holding a water balloon in their good hand ready to throw the balloon as soon as they come face to face with him.

Kendall walks backwards in the maze, down to their final balloon, luckily hitting Andy twice, even though he ambushed them with a pelt of balloons that knocked them off their feet when they tried to chase after him slipping on the wet grass. Their ass still hurt from the impact of falling, and Andy’s laughter that followed played in their mind channeling their inner spy, thinking back to the children’s show ‘Totally Spies’ for reference. “Andy…” Kendall calls out teasingly.

“What do you want?” Kendall couldn’t tell where his voice was coming from looking all around now for any sign of their boyfriend, pushing their lips together. “Next balloons wins, are you ready to lose?”

“No, but you are!” Kendall calls back, stepping into a clearing quicking moving backwards to avoid getting caught in the spitfire running directly into something, knocking both of them to the floor Kendall’s balloon popping underneath them as they roll over to find Andy landing on top of them. “You jerk! You did this on purpose!”

“ME? You ran into me, what are you talking about.” Andy argues, a smile on his face.

“I squished my balloons.” Kendall sighs, sitting up leaning against Andy. “So go ahead and win.”

“I kinda squished mine too,” Andy admits with a laugh, looking back to meet Kendall’s gaze.

“We were both had.” Kendall laughs shifting closer to Andy, their hand falling onto the skin of his knee, leaning in slightly, as Andy does the same, the breeze blowing Kendall’s hair into their face as Andy uses his hand to push back their hair. “So, how do we settle this fight?”

“I can think of a few ways,” Andy smirks, craning his head towards Kendall’s his forehead falling against theirs, their lips about to meet in the middle, when water hits the both of them in the face causing them to jump back in surprise looking up to see themselves surrounded by their friends, holding balloons at the ready. “It’s been a privilege serving with you.” Andy grins at Kendall.

“Same to you.” The balloons fly as Kendall places a deep kiss onto Andy’s lips as water splashes onto them from every direction, the sound of their friends’ laughter and cheers surround them as their lips brush against one another enjoying the moment of pure bliss with one another.

1: sexuality head canon:When it comes to Fabien’s sexuality, I’m not exactly sure? I don’t even know if Famine knows for sure? I think that, in terms of interests of course, that he’s…. like, I really see Fabien on the aro/ace spectrum of things, while also being demisexual in some aspects, if not completely. His sexuality, for me, is complicated in the same way if you were to ask me about Bradley’s - because even though I know that Bradley is gay, it’s still complicated for Bradley himself. The same way Warren’s sexuality is complicated, and even Prestyn’s. It’s all stemming from the things they endured & encountered while growing up with Thierry, you know? And then any & all outside experiences. So yeah, I’d say he falls under the aro/ace umbrella, while being demisexual, but with no real indicators on gender preference (I’m leaning toward polysexual).

1: sexuality head canon:I believe Charlie is “whatever the fuck I feel like” in terms of sexuality, but leans mostly toward being straight. Kind of like how Tracy is “strictly dickly” but also loves ladies, except Charlie doesn’t “love ladies.” I don’t know, I don’t know how to explain what I’m thinking. Like, I wouldn’t go so far as to say she’s straight, even though I’m ninety percent sure it’s been said that she’s straight. To be honest, I think it’s hard for me, personally, to ever actually sit back & say that someone, 100%, is straight.

5: first head canon that pops into my head:I am pretty sure we’ve discussed this, or that it’s in the head canons for one of them, or both, but I’ve always firmly believed that Charlie would end up taking & wearing Tony’s shirts, and Tony always let her because he didn’t give a flying fuck. He loves his baby sis, and if she wants to steal one of his damn shirts, tie one of his flannels around her waist, etc? He fucking loved it. He thought it was great. The second part of this thought though, is that Charlie did this even more heavily when Tony went to prison & she realized he wasn’t going to be getting out any time soon. She didn’t wear them out as much, it was more so around the house. She’d wear one until the smell was gone, & then she’d move onto the next, using them to sleep in. It kept her close to him, and yeah, maybe it was dumb, but it was almost like she wasn’t letting him be alone in there, and that she wasn’t without him outside. God, that’s so sad why am I like this?

EPHRAIM.

1: sexuality head canon:He’s very much pansexual, and is actually heavily demiromantic. I mean, really, he’s also incredibly demisexual, but he feels obligated (when not in a relationship) to be a sexual person, so he ends up being sexual despite his discomfort. Good thing he doesn’t have to worry about that anymore! Isn’t this just such a happy head canon!

5: first head canon that pops into my head:He was always an antisocial guy, but it didn’t really come into play just how antisocial he could be until his dad lost the money. He was always working under obligation to make these social appearances, and couldn’t understand some of the looks certain parents would give him (because certain people would have actually known that Eph’s father was an irresponsible gambler). So, when his father lost everything, Ephraim just backed off from everything entirely because there was no longer that feeling of obligation to being a person in front of other people (even though he had that obligation his family). 

6: one way in which I relate to this character:I, too, can be incredibly gay for Gavin. I, too, am horrible at talking about my Level 12 Tragic Back Story. 

7: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character:His dog is named OODLES, for crying out loud!!!!!!!

PRESTYN.

1: sexuality head canon:Prestyn seems pretty fucking bisexual to me, I don’t know, man.

4: notp:Prestyn/Bradley, lmao. Outside of the OBVIOUS reason, this is because they are just a very toxic thing because Prestyn, without meaning to, has used Bradley, and it just leaves such a bad taste in Bradley’s mouth, especially when he tried to express that to him (not in the best way, but yeah) and it wasn’t dealt with the best by Prestyn. Which makes sense, but it’s a tricky & complicated situation & it makes me sad as fuck, man. 

5: first head canon that pops into my head:Prestyn acts oblivious to the things surrounding his brothers, almost naive to it all, but he’s really not. He knows, even if he wishes he didn’t know. He doesn’t have the confirmation, can’t really place the alarming images inside his head from when he was an toddler. The nightmares are broken, but sometimes he plays it down to just that; nightmares. If it was all just a nightmare, then he doesn’t have to face the reality & gravity of what has happened to both Bradley & Fabien.

CALLUM.

1: sexuality head canon:He’s asexual & aromantic,but the version of himself that he presents to the public is a totally different person. Someone sexual, if not hypersexual, as well as someone who is actively seeking out a relationship (without ever actually committing to one). He goes on dates, but he never settles (because it’s not something he actually wants). 

2: otp:I mean, if anything, it’d be Callum/Matt, but I don’t really have an otp for this asshole.

5: first head canon that pops into my head:There’s a part of Callum that believes he’s going to have to kill Matt in the future, only because there is no real purpose for that boy (in Callum’s eyes). He keeps him around for fun, but that fun isn’t always clear & evident. One day, Matt will have to be disposed of because, in reality, Callum doesn’t actually need him. Matt is disposable, expendable. He doesn’t need the guy, and he does find him to be quite the burden on the odd occasion - even if there’s a part of him, way down inside himself, that could almost care about him. 

6: one way in which I relate to this character:The only way I kind of relate to this narcissistic piece of shit is my ability to be a completely different person out of obligation when in a social environment.
