The Rhythm of Love and Letting Go
Anger is like a flame, burning within us, often mistaken for strength. We tend to feed it, thinking it shields us from further pain, but in reality, it slowly consumes us from the inside. Don’t feed your anger—starve it. When we stop nurturing those painful feelings, we create room for peace. Anger holds us hostage, keeping us trapped in a loop of resentment and frustration. It builds walls, distancing us from the love and care that surround us, which, though often subtle, is ever-present.
Letting go is not a sign of weakness—it’s an act of liberation. Stop holding onto painful feelings. Allow yourself the grace to release what no longer serves you. By doing so, you make room for healing and growth. Understand that love doesn’t always come in grand gestures or in the forms we expect. Each one of us loves you in their own unique ways. Just because it doesn’t look the way you imagined doesn’t mean it’s not there. Sometimes, love is quiet, nestled in small moments, in actions rather than words, and in support rather than displays of affection.
Love, like faith, goes through its waves and tides. It ebbs and flows, rises and falls, constantly shifting like the ocean’s currents. Sometimes, it will feel overwhelming and immense, while at other times, it may feel distant and almost imperceptible. But just as the tides always return, so too does love. You must learn to trust in its rhythm, even when it feels like it’s pulling away from you.
Faith is about trusting what you cannot always see, and love works in much the same way. They both require patience, belief, and the understanding that they are forces beyond our control. You cannot force someone to love you the way you want, just as you cannot control the tides. All you can do is trust that love, like the ocean, is ever-moving, always finding its way back, even when it seems lost.
In learning to release anger and embrace love’s ever-changing nature, you set yourself free. You open yourself up to receiving love in all its varied forms, and you begin to understand that love—like life—is not always straightforward. It requires faith, patience, and above all, an openness to let it come and go as it must. When you surrender to this flow, you not only find peace within but also discover that love was always there, even in its quietest moments.

One super funny thing about the French Rev (that Victor Hugo even references in Les Mis) is the way it altered naming conventions, resulting in tons of WILD amazing ridiculous names!
Basically what happened was— during the French Rev the laws around registering names were relaxed, so people started giving extremely revolutionary names to themselves and their babies.
Sadly Napoleon’s government later cracked down on this. When Napoleon came into power he passed a restrictive law mandating that people had to choose among a list of “normal” names, banning the weird revolution ones, because he was a spineless coward afraid of the power these names had. The restrictive naming laws weren’t repealed until late in the 20th century.
But anyway here are some of my favorite French Rev baby names (taken from this list):
Mort Aux Aristocrates -“Death to Aristocrats”
Amour Sacré de la Patrie l’an Trois -“Sacred Love of the Fatherland Year III”
Lagrenade —“The Grenade”
Droit de l’Homme Tricolor “Right of Man Tricolor”
Égalité — “Equality”
Régénérée Vigueur— “Regenerated Strength”
Marat, ami du peuple -“Marat, friend of the people”
Marat, défenseur de la Patrie—“Marat, defender of the Fatherland”
La Loi-“The Law”
Philippe Thomas Ve de bon coeur pour la République — “Philippe Thomas ‘Go with a good heart for the Republic’”
Raison —“Reason”
Simon Liberté ou la Mort —“Simon “Freedom or Death””
Citoyen Français—“French Citizen”
Sans Crainte— “Without Fear”
Unitée Impérissable— “Imperishable Unity”
Victoire Fédérative— “Federal Victory”
Vengeur Constant —“Constant Avenger”

Finally got new glasses (lenses AND frames!) bc I broke my old pair lol
Thing is I had my old pair for. I don’t even know how long. 5 years maybe? Either way I was long overdue for an upgrade to my prescription and holy SHIT when I tell you my jaw dropped when I put my new pair on. You people see like this? Crystal clear? Every day? You can read signs from really far away? And not have to squint?
When I was driving home today I could see all the way to the mountains I could literally see all the little details of the snow and the trees and I was like YO DUDEEE this is INSANE. People with 20/20 vision you have no idea how good you have it I cannot believe people can see that clearly normally

The assumptions people are making on Veilguard bc ALL decisions won’t carry over are insane to me “OH so morrigan won’t mention her ONLY SON!! or her roMANCE??”. We have no idea what context or capacity she’s going to be in the game? In skyhold, she stayed at skyhold for a while, so it made sense to chat her up and ask about her life. Also Kieran was THERE bc he was TEN. Kieran is now in his twenties and most likely living his own life. If we’re saving the world and fighting darkspawn WHY would her grown ass son come up? Esp when she doesn’t even know Rook?? Like i would understand if we had veilguard in our hands and people were complaining bc Morrigan actually had dialogue invalidating their canon but for fuck’s sake the game isn’t even out yet. They’re saying it doesn’t matter as in it’s not gonna come up bc Rook is busy doing other shit, rather than quizzing characters who aren’t companions on their lives. “What about Varric”. Varric seems to have a pre-established relationship with Rook which means you can headcanon that they already had the talk about Varric’s life story considering he called them his “second in command”. Like cancel your preorders, preorder, do whatever you want no one on the internet is the boss of you. But oh my fucking god complaining about something you don’t even fully know about is already getting so old. Best case scenario, you’re right and i guess your bitching is validated yay for you ig. Worst case, you’re wrong and like wasted so much time and energy bitching for nothing. Like I completely understand being upset the choices don’t carry over, it IS disappointing! But we don’t even KNOW what it’s going to affect if anything at all. It’s just so funny how everyone was like “it’s not about the Inquisitor” and now that the focus is confirmed to be pretty much entirely on Rook and the inquistor’s choices barely seem to matter in game and half of everybody has lost the plot bc of it and we don’t even actually know how this will affect the game like ????

this excerpt from a letter by tchaikosky makes me SO sick because this is so radiostatic coded. imagine vox writing letters to alastor over and over when he first disappears thinking that alastor is just ignoring him because of the negative feelings after their fight not knowing that alastor is gone until weeks after his initial disappearance. imagine vox pleading and pleading for any sign of acknowledgement, anything that might have meant that he was something to alastor, only to never recieve a reply because alastor physically couldnt tell him. imagine all the piles of unrecieved and unsent letters in voxs room. imagine vox dying and alastor finding all the letters after hes gone knowing that he'll never be able to repair their relationship. imagine [i am shot down by a firing squad]

I was thinking about the weirdness of LaCE and the whole sex=soul-marriage thing again (as you do) and a thought struck me:
what if the way it works in cases of assault (or is believed to work by the elves; in this case it doesn't matter if it's actually what happens of just what they think) is that you don't end up with a full-on bond, no, but you do get bits of connection, like hooks stuck in your soul from the other person(s)?
And—if we run with the worst interpretation of the Celebrían situation—what if that's what motivates Elladan and Elrohir to be so determined to hunt down every single orc in Middle-earth?
If Celebrían left because she couldn't bear the feeling or thought or those orc-hooks in her soul (or the ptsd flashbacks and trauma that made it easy to assume the stories were true, and that's what was happening to cause her misery) and hoped that crossing the Sundering Sea would cut them off, or at least blunt them and let the scars heal...
Well, the twins know that you can't really sail back, of course they do. They know!
But Glorfindel did. And a whole host of elves came once, during the War of Wrath. So it's not that nobody has, ever. (They can look up and see their grandfather sailing in the sky every night, out of the Undying Lands. Maybe somebody could hitch a ride...?)
If they can make Middle-earth safe for her again...well, maybe she won't come home. But at least then she could, if a chance ever came to leave and cross the Sea again. She could.
And even if she doesn't, at least when they Sail*, they can tell her that they slew her nightmares, finally.
And maybe that will be enough.
