Crawling straight up through six feet of compacted earth is hard, especially after waking up suddenly in a coffin, so after he makes it inside, he sits down to rest on the couch.

And immediately falls asleep.

Hours later, Bruce returns home to find Jason's body, covered in dirt, dug up from the grave and left on his couch.

to add on, the reason many of y’all feel this way about ellie is because you have yet to deconstruct the idea that women = femininity.

masculinity does not equal stoicism and being emotionally + vocally inhibited. masc women are not less of a woman if they cry or talk a lot. masc women are perfectly capable of being as soft-hearted, teary-eyed and talkative as feminine women are. being masculine does not exclude them from womanhood.

compare ellie to some of the other women in the game. her demeanour, her physicality, the way she carries herself is far different from the rest. the other women don’t wear dresses & skirts or wear makeup either. you’re right: it’s a post-apocalyptic world, so ellie dresses “practically.” but so do the other women in the game. so why exactly does ellie stand out from the rest? because masculinity is not limited to clothing.

i know that this post wasn't made with ill intent or anything. but you all need to analyze and interrogate why your instinct is to see masculinity in women almost like a failing. most people's automatic response to masculine women is to punish them for their existence and/or feminize them in order to make them more "acceptable." it is not misogynistic for writers wanting to write characters in a way that stays true to their essence.

ellie is also not only a masculine woman, but a masculine lesbian. the attraction & love that a man can have for a woman will never, ever compare to the love a woman can have for another woman. and regardless of how masculine a lesbian may be, they do not benefit from sexism like cis men do. in fact, they are the victims of a distinct, almost violent form of misogyny that the rest of us will never experience.

being cocky, confident, commanding—all these different traits we as a society have decided are inherent and exclusive to men—choosing to be this way when you're a lesbian is not perpetuating misogyny. that's not to say there aren't lesbians who are stuck in a bigoted, sexist mindset. but women, specifically lesbians, being masculine is the ultimate "fuck you" to misogyny.

so please stop trying to feminize clearly masculine women. i know that we are inherently taught to exclude them from womanhood, but we all need to unlearn that and understand why we are taught to think that way.

ellie williams is not just masc presenting; she is masculine and that does not make her less than.

The way ppl write Ellie sometimes…ugh like she’s not a woman, she doesn’t get her period or would wanna be taken care of sometimes, like she wouldn’t cry at 3 am midst watching a random ass documentary and have an existential crisis and end up calling you just to go off on a tangent about it at fucking 3 am just because she isn’t traditionally feminine more masc presenting honestly I think she’s just a practical person in general she just kinda wears what’s comfortable isn’t the type to follow latest fashion trend or anything but it’s hard to say if she would be masc presenting considering she’s fighting for her life in a damned world

Okay this post does actually warrant a spoiler warning for Tales of Exandria (go read it. I am no longer asking.) but honestly I do think it is most likely that the circumstances of the first portion (chronologically) of the Bright Queen comics finished sometime in the past year or two prior to the current circumstances of the campaign and the subsequent portion is the one that takes place in 855 PD, but this does make Leylas's perspective on being in Vasselheim even worse and funnier, particularly if Ludinus does actually take the opportunity to try to show them all the Aeor footage. Like, your partner's dead, your divine child who was supposed to herald a golden age turned into a bloodthirsty drider and is also dead, and you'd love nothing more to murder Lolth with your bare hands. Instead you're in Vasselheim in endless meetings that absolutely cannot be emails because that smug jackass elf from the Empire, who stole your religious artifacts and started a war against you, thinks he's so smart for living an extra hundred years and is now attempting to claim that gives him the sole authority to break the moon open and kill all the gods. What If: Captain America Were Revived Today? #44 (April 1983) by Peter B. Gillis and Sal Buscema; Original Image by John Romita Sr.

In this What If? Marvel tale, Captain America is unfrozen in 1983 rather than the 1960s. Without the leadership of Steve Rogers, The Avengers disband. Meanwhile, a Captain America imposter, who calls himself a "real American," has decided to use his newfound influential media status to publicly support a National Identity Card to "deal with illegal aliens,” to suggest that members of civil rights groups "ought to think seriously as to whether or not their actions contribute to the strengthening of communist enemies," and declare that if those groups tear the country apart with protests, martial law is justified "for the peace to find a solution.”

Neighborhoods with large black populations (e.g., Harlem) are walled off and forced into poverty, and one character even mentions that Jewish people are being “put back into camps.” The right-wing politicians make sure that things like this aren’t shown on television, keeping the majority of the American public ignorant of the horrors committed with their indifferent support. The public are simultaneously told that with some sacrifices, America can be free once again. The fake Captain America confronts a group of peaceful protestors, and he is shot by a sniper (in what reads like an inside job), allowing the police to have “reason” to attack the protestors. The imposter does not die and instead uses the attack to provide more reason for the violent crackdown against protesting groups.

When the true Captain America is unfrozen, he is horrified to see what America has become, especially with his emblem stamped all over it. He immediately seeks out the resistance forces (who clearly represent the Black Panther Party) and joins their cause, stating that "the wrongs [he's] seen will take much more than one man to right -- but [he's] got a name to clear, a costume to unsoil-- and a country to die for!!"

By the time Steve joins them, the resistance only has one chance left to stop the American downfall: a political convention where the "America First" party will be able to secure its support to sweep the national elections and allow them "to return America to the pure and great nation [the] forefathers envisioned."

The resistance strikes just as the convention begins. The Captain America imposter is no match in a fight against the true Captain America -- especially against a Steve Rogers who's fucking pissed. ("Get up so I can knock you down!!")

With the imposter knocked unconscious, Captain America addresses the convention crowd, warning that an America that does not represent all its people does not deserve to exist at all; that liberty can be "as easily snuffed out [in America] as in Nazi Germany" and "as a people, we are no different from them."

The crowd realizes that the man speaking before them is the true Captain America and cheers. Captain America holds his hand up and silences them, stating that he will not allow them the chance to simply replace one idol with another. He alone can’t undo the horrible damage, and he pleads that there’s still a chance for the people to “find America once again.”

Fascism doesn’t change its tune, just its singers.
