Good news and bad news!

Bad news is that I've decided that Patreon is no longer a good platform for me, given the recent TOS clearout and their general hostility to monsterfucking (they won't even let me put werewolves on there. whats the point. werewolves are borderline vanilla by my standards). Current supporters can stick around for as long as they'd like, but there's not gonna be any more exclusive posts, and I'm eventually gonna delete it altogether.

Good news is that the formerly Patreon-exclusive pieces are going to be put up for free! Likely on AO3, since almost anything is good to go there as long as you tag it properly. This won't happen right away, 'cause there are 125+ of 'em (plus some alternate versions) and I have a lot of shit going on in life rn, but be on the lookout for those within the month. hopefully. i'll make an announcement post and add the link to my pinned whenever that happens.

Got my blood test results back and I am once again not anemic!!! (I stopped taking iron for a while and it turns out I should not have done that lol) Also my ferritin is up in the double digits again! A huge improvement from a year ago, when my ferritin level was 3. Now it's 17! That's technically in the normal range!!! :D

Lord Captain Xandra von Valencius, Rogue Trader of the Imperium

Following the unexpected death of Her Ladyship Theodora von Valencius and her known heir, a bladedancer named Xandra has taken the Lord Captain's seat. While she may be new to the role of Rogue Trader, Xandra von Valencius is far from a nobody. In fact, this isn't the first time she's been referred to as nobility. Prior to the reveal of her von Valencius heritage, Xandra made a name for herself as a crime lord on a hostile death world, wrangling the scattered pirates into a formidable fleet. Rumor says she ruled ruthlessly until she was captured by a rival gang. No one knows what happened to her in the 3 months she was missing, but when she returned, having single-handedly slaughtered the entire gang responsible for her capture, Xandra was changed. Having attracted much attention with her recent ascension to Lord Captain, it seems that Her Ladyship is eager not to fall into enemy hands. In addition to Xandra's own skills with blades, rumor says that she is accompanied by an eerie death cultist who never leaves her side. Will the new Rogue Trader grow the dynasty's glory, or will she be the reason the von Valencius name is struck from the history books? Time will tell if the skills she used to gain and keep control of her criminal empire will serve her well as Lord Captain. If you couldn't tell by the top half of this post, I started playing Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader a couple weeks ago. I bought the game on my birthday because it just happened to be on sale, and in the past 2 weeks I've racked up 31 hours. Which isn't much compared to my playtime in WotR when I first started playing, but it's pretty impressive given my workload. I've been having a ton of fun!! This is Xandra, and yes, she's a (space) pirate who was captured and tortured. I have a type, apparently.

Here's some pics of her in-game.

I imagine that the 2nd outfit (the long coat) is her adventuring outfit (lots of pockets plus belts for weapons and such), and the other more uniform-looking outfit is her "ceremonial" outfit. (She's never going to get more formal than that.)

Also, if anyone else plays Rogue Trader and hasn't played the Void Shadows DLC, I highly recommend it. Kibellah is awesome, and the Bladedancer archetype is SO much fun to play. (Yes, I'm running a party that's 1/3rd Bladedancer Assassins. Surprisingly, it works really well. They are VERY efficient little murder machines.)

That is exactly something I've been wondering.

'Cause. Like if Whitebeard managed to hit Crocodile hard enough (=with Haki) to cut his whole hand off, then surely he would've done more damage than just leave a cut on Croc's face, right. Like his head should've ended up in two pieces. And I mean it's not impossible WB could be the cause of both wounds (like for example WB could've first just scratched Crocodile's face and then, when he was in shock, taken that left hand, or something, there's like a million ways this action scene could play out), it is entirely possible still. But it would ALSO be entirely plausible if Crocodile got his scar and lost his hand due to different people.

Also if Dragon is a former Marine then he could know the Rokushiki, and like I dunno about y'all but to me Crocodile's scar looks to me like it could've been caused by a Rankyaku to the face (or if Dragon is a Wind Wind Fruit user as many speculate, his attacks could very much be like wind-slashes similar to Rankyaku, any cutting attacks or even Croc's own Spada-attacks). Like the way his scar goes across his whole face, ear-to-ear, it looks like it could've been caused by a cut that hit him straight-on (but didn't cut through his whole head). As opposed to a cutting motion from a blade that'd go from like one side of the face to another (where I feel like it shouldn't go ear-to-ear, and instead, at most, like, ear-to-cheek, y'know? 'Cause the face would curve away from a blade etc? But also this is a manga and shit like this doesn't have to make sense, it just needs to look cool and be symbolic and shit)

(There is also the forbidden option that WB could've given Crocodile the scar and it was Dragon that took Crocodile's hand. And not in the romantic way 🥁)

In any case, if Dragon did attack Crocodile out of instinct because he couldn't recognize the strange, imposing man with a baby who showed up at the secret location at a secret meeting time when he was supposed to reunite with his wife and meet his child... Oh yeah. Dragon could've assumed the worst, thought that they had been found out, that his beloved had been taken out and baby kidnapped. Or something. And thus attacked. And boy howdy would this be one absolutely gut-wrenching way to cause a divorce, eh

((Only thing is that for Dragon to hurt Crocodile, either Dragon would've had to have gone in with the Haki right away, which is viabe but makes me question how Crocodile even survived to begin with, or the attack would've had to been moisturized ahead of time for some reason. Unless Dragon can add moisture to his attacks by default, or unless it was raining, it'd make no sense how Dragon could've cut Croc's face up. But hey we know Crocodile doesn't really like the rain, now does he))

I think I can find a way to squeeze out some mental gymnastics by which I can technically agree. Oh, I've got it!

There's a stock EG Civic I see around sometimes, and it's the most basic spec that can be found - not the rarer, imperceptibly better looking facelifted model, not equipped with any cool option nor modification nor even alloy rims, preserved too poorly to be mint and not poorly enough to be heroic. Exactly like this picture I found looking up "civic" in a used car ad aggregator and sorting by cheapest.

And every time I see it I go "Civic! :D", like in one of my main's greatest posts.

Maybe the surprising rarity of hatchbacks of this generation is a factor (though local popularity hasn't quelled my fondness of Suzuki jeeps), but whatever the case, one arguably cannot modify that Civic in a way that makes it cool to me, per the logic by which something cannot become what it already is.

But regarding the intended meaning of "Civics aren't cool cars and no modification could make them such", well, not only could we be touching their bare metal and still not have a common ground (It's an electrics pun. It's devastating. You're devastated right now.), I disagree so hard that I am willing to go over every Civic and not just show a cool modified example, but even argue that the factory itself churned out something cool.

That's right. I'm doing a SERIES. That's how wrong you are.

Note for the poor-watersporting audience: Just because I'm not the type to cowardly shield myself from criticism by rattling out "i personally believe"s and "in my opinion"s doesn't mean I have the delusion to be dishing out statements of fact.
