[𝚂𝚖𝚞𝚝 𝙿𝚛𝚘𝚖𝚙𝚝 𝚁𝚎𝚚𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚜 - 𝟸𝚔 𝙵𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚛 𝙲𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚋𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗! ]
Tumblr media
I've gotten a little unexpected free time. Most of you that follow me (and paid attention) know I was working full time, I didn't have much time for myself let alone to work on my fics. I still have everything in my drafts, I don't plan on abandoning those if I can help it. But, I'd like to get back into the swing of things. I want to find some inspiration for writing fics again. I have a list of SMUT prompts below and am willing to take on a few extra requests to refresh my mind.
Tumblr media
While I mostly currently write for the characters of ATJ, I am not opposed to writing about others. You can always find out who I will write for and who I won't with a simple ask or dm. Underage people are asked to not interact with my blog. You will be blocked. I do write and am willing to write, kink-heavy and darkfic themes. You can find my ATJ masterlist here.
↳ The credit for the prompt list goes to @delusionisaplace
"I want to hear you beg."
"Arch your back for me."
"You look better with my hands around your neck."
"Swallow it. All of it."
"God, you feel so fucking good."
"Suck on it."
"You're so fucking hot."
"Open your legs for me, baby. I wanna see you."
"Don't hold back."
“Ah, fuck.”
"That noise...keep making it."
"Wrap your legs around my waist."
"Let's make this quick."
"Don't close your eyes, baby. Look at me."
"You're mine."
"Such a good little slut, aren't you?"
“Faster—ah shit—harder…”
"I wanna go again."
“I want you. I need you.”
“Huh…uh…keep going.”
“Wait—uh—do…do that again.”
"Mark me. Mark me so everyone knows who I belong to."
"Don't be gentle with me—I like it when you're rough."
"One more time! Please!"
"Fuck—uh! I love it when you touch me like that."

#4 - Bookshelf
A Peak At What’s Inside Their… Prompts
Wc: 793
Tumblr media
“Grab that book for me while you’re on your feet, would you?” Liam’s voice came lazily from the armchair, where he was sprawled with one leg hooked over the armrest, a whiskey glass balanced on his knee as he absentmindedly traced the rim.
I obediently meandered over by the bookshelf.
Tall, dark wood, and slightly overcrowded, like everything else in his flat that seemed to be more lived-in than fully organised. It was an eclectic collection: battered paperbacks were shoved against scratched up hardcovers, titles in gold-embossed lettering beside others so faded you had to tilt them to the light to make them out. Some had the look of old friends, their covers yellowed with age, while others were newer and white as rice grains, pristine even, like they hadn’t earned their place yet.
“Which one?” I asked, stepping closer and letting my fingers skim along the worn edges.
“Middle shelf, left corner,” he said. “That slim one, tea-coloured.”
I hesitated, my fingers hovering over the worn black wood as I took it all in.
This wasn’t just a regular hoard of literature. A brass compass sat snugly between an old volume of Dubliners and a tattered collection of Oscar Wilde’s poems. Its glass surface was tarnished, but the needle still shivered dutifully when I poked it, having never forgotten how to find North.
Beside it, a small bottle of sea salt caught the light. It was stoppered with a cork, the grains inside as fine as sand. Snatching it up, I rolled it between my fingers, imagining him scooping it up from some windswept shore, the cold air brackish and the suds of waves teasing at his boots.
Further down was a taxidermy beetle, pinned in a shadowbox frame no bigger than my palm. Its elytra shimmered green, like a glimmer of flowing Irish rivers. Again, I wondered if he’d captured these oddities himself, or if he’d stumbled across them in one of his wanderings through a secondhand shop or flea market.
Then there were the books themselves: Ulysses, its sapphire-blue jacket frayed at the edges. The Wind Among The Reeds, its beloved pages foxed and soft. North, a volume of Seamus Heaney’s, thumbed so often it was on the verge of collapse.
“Does it ever bother you that they’re not in any kind of order?” I asked, glancing back at him.
“Nah,” he said, having been mid-sip. “I know where everything is. That’s all that matters.”
I finally found Padraic Fiacc’s The Selected, its spine cracked but sturdy, and pulled it free. A musty scent drifted up from its paper, and it was indeed beige like spilled milky tea.
Beside the bookcase was a stack of vinyl records, leaning precariously as if one wrong move might send them sliding to the floor.
Unable to resist more nosing, I crouched to examine them, running my hand over the topmost sleeve. Leonard Cohen’s Songs of Love and Hate, a few records by The Smiths, a band I didn’t know called ‘Them,’ Van Morrison’s Moondance and a compilation of Thin Lizzy’s. Something classical beneath those dusty jackets—Vivaldi, perhaps? It was a strange mix, curated with care. Hours spent turning each record over in his hands before choosing the next.
“You’ve got good taste,” I said over my shoulder.
“Always have,” he replied patiently, a good-natured chuckle in his words. “D’you find it, love?”
“Yeah.” I straightened up with the book in hand and crossed back to him, holding it up like a prize.
“Good woman.” He didn’t bother shifting, staying sprawled like a king in his chair, but his arm reached out, catching me at the waist as I handed him the book. “Sit,” he said simply, tugging me gently down onto his lap.
Liam’s arm curled around me, keeping me steady as I settled sideways, my head resting against his shoulder. He was all wiry limbs and strong, beating heart thumping from sternum to my ear.
“You’re a nosy wee bird today,” he teased, flipping open the book but not reading it yet.
“Just curious,” I said, tracing the script lightly. First Movement. “You’ve a lot of really interesting things stashed away in here, I can tell.”
A little jolt of happiness sparked through me as I recognised my hometown, but then Liam’s thumb scraped to turn it away.
Those murky green eyes were beckoning, like a shiny glint at the bottom of a lake. “Maybe,” he said, his lips quirking into an easy half-smile. “You’re welcome to dig around all you like. But don’t go judging the state of my records.”
I laughed softly, sinking further into his warmth as he finally opened to a favourite page and began reading, the lilting cadence of his voice like music in the quiet flat.

Ultimate Showdown, but it's Discworld
A dragon was rampaging around
Ankh-Morpork like a big playground
When suddenly Sam Vimes burst out of the Mended Drum
And readied the crossbow’s trigger with his thumb
The dragon got mad and descended upon
But didn’t expect to be blocked by Hrun
Who took Kring the magic sword from out the corner
When Captain Carrot arrived, in shining armor
Then he beat up Hrun like he was on a mission
And Vimes felt like he was being watched by the Patrician
Before he could make it back to Sator Square
Bloody S. Johnson swooped in from nowhere
And took the Gonne out from under his coat
And missed Vimes, he instead got Cut-Me-Own-Throat
But Death caught up and said, “Today is not your day,”
While Sergeant Detritus rushed into the fray
This is the greatest battle in Discworld’s History
Wizards, Witches, and explosions as far as the eye can see
The gods are watching the scene from Cori Celesti
This is the greatest battle in Discworld’s History
The dragon unleashed fire upon the troll
Also igniting Gaspode, who was on a stroll
And then Hrun came back, ready to hack and sack
But the Librarian jumped out and landed on his back
And Sam Vimes was injured and trying not to swoon
When Bloody S. Johnson returned with the clockwork spoon
But suddenly something caught his leg and he fell
Angua took him out with her fluffy tail
Then she saw the dragon sneaking up from behind
And she reached for her sword which she just couldn't find
Cause Vimes borrowed it and he swung and he missed
And the Librarian deflected it with his fist (ouch!)
Then he jumped in the air and he went ook
While Johnson got hit by a magic book
Where sparks of Octarine flew into the air
Then the Luggage gave them a big ol’ scare
This is the greatest battle in Discworld’s History
Wizards, Witches, and explosions as far as the eye can see
The gods are watching the scene from Cori Celesti
This is the greatest battle in Discworld’s History
Ravens crowed, and out of the sky they dived
While on her broomstick, Granny Weatherwax arrived
Who delivered a glare, which could turn babies old
Into the face of Angua von Uberwald
Who crumbled to the ground, convinced she’s made of dough
As Sam Vimes took out his crossbow
But Granny saw him readying a shot
And she caught the arrow, which was red hot
Then Susan Sto Helit, and Death of Rats
And Maurice and his amazing Rodents, running past
And Tiffany Aching with her frying pan
And lady Sybil Ramkin, Duchess of Ankh
Adora Belle, Moist von Lipwig and Lord Vetinari
Mustrum Ridcully and the whole Unseen University
Leonard of Quirm and Cheery Littlebottom
Twoflower, Pretty Butterfly, Lotus Blossom
All came out of nowhere lightning fast
And they kicked Granny all the way into the past
It was the most magical battle that the Disc ever saw
With civilians looking on in total awe
The fight raged on for a century
Death was quite busy but eventually
The champion stood, the rest saw their last hope
Rincewind in his raggedy robe
This is the greatest battle in Discworld’s History
Wizards, Witches, and explosions as far as the eye can see
The gods are watching the scene from Cori Celesti
This is the greatest battle in Discworld’s History

@wshingwells liked for an event starter
TO FIND THE YOUNG WOMAN surrounded by a bird or two is not so uncommon— Leonard had pieced that together very quickly following her arrival. He's not exactly gone out of his way to speak to her ( he'd felt pretty shitty for having to be the bearer of bad news upon her initial entry into the city ), but he's seen it from a distance plenty of times.
This time seems different. The way she hunches over with her hands cupped so carefully, the way the two birds perched on either shoulder chirp with such incessant concern at the one held in her palms. Worry flares in his chest.
( It doesn't really occur to him how ridiculous of a thought that is. Reading into bird noises. )
Tumblr media
"Is it hurt?" The logical part of his brain that ought to inform him to keep his distance from the rest of the population until he can figure out a source for... all this is missing, though to be entirely fair it never tended to fire properly even under normal circumstances. Leonard has always been one to wade into the fray when people have a problem that needs fixing, though hell if he knows what sort of affliction this is. He crosses over to the other side of the park quickly. "Let me see. I've treated an Aurelian or two before," and birds are birds, after all, though he's no veterinarian.

qu-tipie asked:
"So what was tha' highlight of sex fa' you?"
Tumblr media
Blushes deep red. Probably redder than his own girlfriend's lipstick. Sheldon sighs and fidgets with a stray strand on his shirt. He tucks it in and makes a reminder to sew it so it doesn't fray.
"I didn't like it much. I don't want that to come off---" He is struggling for the words to say. This is so difficult for him being closed off and not really a sexual being, but he knew one thing. He was a 'Harley Person.' "It wasn't the right circumstances. I think if she had been my girlfriend and I was attracted to her it would have been what Leonard always refers to as sex with Penny, 'mind blowing.'

Ad Astra News - 6/18-6/24
State of the Archive
Busy week this week!  We had a bunch of new people coming over and posting, others archiving older stories and a decent amount of very excellent discussion over on Discord.  Folks also seem to be falling in more comfortably with our posting/tagging rules, which is a great thing for archive searchability.  We do still have a Review Hunt going on for the next week, so your chance to win art and/or cash is still on the table, too!  Literally any review you write is eligible, so paste their links into the form as you write them!  Next month I'll be able to somewhat automate that process, but for now, this is what it's gotta take.
Weekly Challenge #10
For this week, write a story between 100 and 700 words about a sensory event or even just a day in the sun or rain. Can be extra-sensory, can be just plain old atmospheric, can involve any of the senses (and then some!) Interpret the prompt as literally as you like or a figuratively as you like, then submit your response to the Weekly Challenge Collection on Ad Astra: https://beta.adastrafanfic.com/collections/weeklychallenges Use the additional (freeform) tag Weekly Challenge: Sensory Processing Challenge closes on June 30th at 11:59P, Eastern.

Currently the archive is up, running and stable on otw-archive.  Technical issues include: Links from e-mails not landing on the correct subdomain, so if you want to join up, you have to add beta.adastrafanfic.com/[insert validation link] in order to validate your account.  If you don’t want to or can’t, though, just hit me up and I’ll do it from the back end!  Another technical issue is that dates/times aren’t populating correctly on newly posted stories, but that’s a pretty minor thing.  If you see a bug, let me know!

Carey Mulligan and Bradley Cooper in Maestro (Bradley Cooper, 2023)
Cast: Bradley Cooper, Carey Mulligan, Matt Bomer, Gideon Glick, Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, Vincenzo Amato, Michael Urie, Greg Hildreth, Brian Klugman, Nick Blaemire, Mallory Portnoy, Yasen Peyakov, Zachary Booth, Miriam Shor, Alexa Swinton. Screenplay: Bradley Cooper, Josh Singer. Cinematography: Matthew Libatique. Production design: Kevin Thompson. Film editing: Michelle Tesoro. Music: Leonard Bernstein.
The Aussies call it "tall poppy syndrome." It's that tendency to try to undermine or underestimate the achievement of anyone who excels. And I think we saw it directed at Bradley Cooper when the first big wave of negative publicity came out from a critic from the Hollywood Reporter who saw the trailer for Maestro and called the prosthetic nose Cooper wore to play Leonard Bernstein "ethnic cosplay." The word "Jewface," analogous to blackface and "yellowface," labels for white performers pretending to be Black or Asian, was tossed about, as if Cooper were somehow guilty of antisemitism, or even depriving a Jewish actor of the role. Defenders came to the fray, including Bernstein's family, who indicated their approval of Cooper's choice, and others who pointed out that Cooper wasn't playing a negative stereotype, or even a character like Shylock or Fagin, but an authentic musical genius. But the damage was done, and the controversy continues to be a kind of scrim through which we watch and assess the film. I think much of it stems from the fact that Cooper is one of the most exceptional talents of our time, recognized for excellence as an actor, director, and screenwriter  -- a tall poppy indeed. He has a total of nine Academy Award nominations in all three of those fields plus producing -- for Todd Phillips's Joker (2019) and Guillermo del Toro's Nightmare Alley (2022). He won a BAFTA for the music of A Star Is Born (2018), for which he wrote and sang several songs, and for which he also won two Grammys. He was nominated for a Tony in 2015 for his performance on Broadway in The Elephant Man. (One of the critics of the prosthetic nose observed that he wore no disfiguring makeup for the role of John Merrick, suggesting that if he's that good an actor, he should have played the role of Bernstein without the help of makeup.) All of this is preface to saying that Maestro is an exceptional film that only adds luster to an already distinguished career. It has been labeled a biopic, which is inadequate. Biographical films are usually distanced from their subjects, dramatizations of events in a career. Maestro is more intimate than that, a portrait of a man and a marriage. Cooper goes beyond mimicry of Bernstein in a serious effort to suggest the social and sexual and artistic tensions seething within the man. If I have to voice a criticism it's that he doesn't quite bring it off -- it's a little too much for any actor or screenwriter to achieve. But Cooper shows us the depths even if he doesn't plumb them. He wisely lets us have our own thoughts about something even Bernstein probably couldn't define about his sexuality: whether he was gay or bisexual, or whether that question is stupid and irrelevant. Carey Mulligan's performance as his wife, Felicia, brittle and burning, is a perfect match for Cooper's. If they don't have the chemistry that Cooper had with Jennifer Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook (2012) or Lady Gaga in A Star Is Born, that's partly the point: The marriage of Lenny and Felicia was one of unresolved tension. Hence the epigraph for the film: "A work of art does not answer questions, if provokes them; and its essential meaning is in the tension between the contradictory answers." I have the feeling that Maestro will be remembered and studied for years to come.

Since I feel too much of a lazy bum today, I am creating a SchmendrickXMolly playlist (under the excuse that then I will have music I can listen to while I study and write the book reviews I must write before the deadline crashes on me).
Somewhere Only We Know – Keane
L’Apprendista Stregone (The Sorcerer Apprentice) – Angelo Branduardi
Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own – U2
Do It Again – Stroke 9 (because they also need some profane love)
Downtown Lights – Annie Lennox version
All The Small Things - blink-182
There Is A Light That Never Goes Out – The Smiths
Fix You – Coldplay
If It Be Your Will – Leonard Cohen
(Just Like) Starting Over - John Lennon
The Book of Love – Peter Gabriel
Il Tuo Culo E Il Tuo Cuore (Your Ass And Your Heart) – Roberto Vecchioni (because Schmendrick is all about singing a love song for Molly while complimenting her booty... the song is much more poetic than the title suggests, I promise)
Just Like Heaven – The Cure
The Wolf Is Getting Married – Sinead O’Connor
Original Of The Species – U2
She Is – The Fray
Abbracciala, Abbracciali, Abbracciati (Hug Her, Hug Them, Hug Yourself) – Lucio Battisti
Angel’s Song – Debbie Harry
We All Go Back To Where We Belong – R.E.M.
Do You Realize?? – The Flaming Lips
Gong – Sigur Ros
Venus as a Boy - Björk
Il Mio Canto Libero (My Song of Freeedom) – Lucio Battisti

They must have been Molly Bloom’s favourites since she remembered how the sun shines for you he said the day we were lying among the rhododendrons on Howth head yes, and Virginia Woolf wrote in late winter/early spring in one of her last diary entries L is doing the rhododendrons. Maybe Leonard was planning a trip to Rhodes, island of Rhodos, roses, or just removing compost, bark or straw mulch, some burlap, snow or wind screen from around the shrubs. Perhaps he stood out in the garden, secateurs in hand, deadheading the most far-reaching blossom inflorescences, their frayed ends dangling as if they had exploded like firecrackers. From a distance, it must have looked like a Greek dance, one leg crossed over the other, someone holding a bouquet of air at the end of each outstretched arm, praising what comes back each spring, or doesn’t.

Send me 🫦 to have a New year's kiss at midnight. || @barebcnes || not accepting.
He'd never cared much for tradition. Whatever had been taught to him by his mother had been washed away in sand and soot, reminding him that rituals had little use. Life would not halt for repetition or custom, ever apathetic in a constant, churning galaxy. Thus the way he remained impartial, a silent and immutable shadow in the corner of the room that observed with quiet, passive eyes, was largely ignored.
Still, he'd been permitted a momentary freedom from his prison. McCoy had convinced the captain that socialization would be beneficial for his rehabilitation, a forced integration the perfect tool of healing. Perhaps not in those words-- not really, not when he'd been incapable of the feat lest it concerned his body. Inside his skull, the darkness a perpetual companion. Earth had changed, yet he had remained the same.
How harrowing, the thought flitted through his mind like a moth yearning for the decimation of flame, ever the brooding shadow in the corner of the room.
A wonder that few spared him a glance as the festivities continued. That was how it ought to remain. If he planned on allowing weakness, he would never say so. Leonard was not his world, but he was close enough to occupy Khan’s mind that it made him wonder, made him doubt that pride-woven sense of self. Comfort became a weakness that seeped from the pores of his teeth and the pink of the tongue that wet his bottom lip.
McCoy brought him tea. It’d become something of a habit by now. Such a thought: it was easy to get ensnared, but he would never admit there are other reasons. Maybe he was selfish. Maybe he was insane. Maybe he was not ready to tell the good doctor that he was ready to flay himself open-- reveal himself as a poet instead of a warlord. A man instead of a monster.
Maybe he was weak. Maybe he was no better than the chemistry and firing synapses in his skull after all.
It was that, the swell of foreign emotions; the culprit, overtaking him, continuing the chain of cruel, thoughtless decisions. Leonard is near, leaning into him to say something above the cacophany of laughter, music, and downward count of time. If there was a protest, Khan pointedly ignored it, backing the other against the wall. The augment was not as subtle, no, not when he was made of jagged edges and frayed wire. Khan’s lips found McCoy's, quick and magnetic, and he could not break away before he realized his error. He lingered, too long. Always too long.
A new year, a new vulnerability.
