It’s a slow day. Every day is slow out in Tumble Down. The township’s name tells the whole story. Everything there is in decline. It’s hard to imagine there was ever a time when the people weren’t tiny and forgotten in the hubbub of the bigger world. Since the mines closed and the canning factory was outsourced, it feels even smaller.
Smaller isn’t so bad. It’s simpler. You all know each other’s names and faces. You say hi and how are you and do what needs to be done. Simple is, simple as.
You here there isn’t much to do in most small towns. Not for fun or for work. You’re one of the lucky ones. You got a job down at the diner in your sophomore year. It helped pay for your daddy’s new engine and since then, it keeps you all afloat in the rising waters of disparity as they close in on Tumble Down.
You hum to the old radio that sits on the shelf you make sure to dust. The speakers crackle from time to time and the signal gets wonky in storm season, but the music’s never bad. It’s the classic stuff that always played in your mother’s kitchen.
You wipe down another table. Not because it needs it, just because it’s something to do. The day has been long and listless. Even the breakfast rush was lower than usual.
Darnell, the cook, whistles along from the back. Everyone knows he isn’t as mean as he looks. He just likes his space.
As you go back to the counter and lean on it, staring at the ticking clock, a roar cuts through the distance. You blink and look up, narrowing your eyes at the dusty country road outside. Wind rustles through the tall wheat in the field opposite and the noise rumbles closer and closer.
A man pulls in a motorbike. He’s going so fast that he has to circle the gravel lot before he can slow down. It’s not Lenny and his prized Harley but another man on a more modern-looking mount. Not far behind, another motorcycle zips through and the riders straddle their bikes as the survey the restaurant.
You narrow your eyes. You probably need glasses but you make do. The last time you got your eyes checked, you didn’t have enough for the frames.
The one man wears blue and red, an odd helmet on his head. Not a helmet at all but a sort of mask. The other man has dark hair to his chin and a beard to match. He’s all in black but his left arm shines with gold ripples. Not a sleeve, an arm, made of metal.
“Oh my lord,” you murmur in shock, “Darnell!” You holler over your shoulder, “you’re not gonna believe this.” You turn to the window as he pokes his head around, “not sure I do myself. Tell me my eyes aren’t lyin’.”
He looks above your head, an easy task for the mammoth cook. He hums and swirls around his spatula. “Thems those boys on the news. The one that was in the old war. Grandad’s battle.”
“I’m not going crazy with boredom?” You bubble.
He snorts. It’s as close to a laugh as you get from him. You spin back and hurry around the counter to grab a pair of menus. Still, you don’t want to seem too eager. You put down the menus and fiddle with a napkin holder instead.
The bell over the door jingles and swipe up the menus and turn. You really can’t believe it’s them. Yet, as Captain America removes his cowl, you’re certain. They look just like they do on the TV. Even with your sight, you can tell.
“Hello, fellas, how are you doin’ today?”
The dark-haired one, the Winter Soldier, glances at the other, his cheek dimpling, “well... we’re... uh...”
“We’re doing great,” Steve Rogers answers brightly. “Starving. You guys serve bacon? My buddy’s dying for some.”
“Um, yes, sirs, yes. Can I sit ya down?” You ask, hugging the menus closer.
“Please,” the Captain accepts as the other man stays silent and pensive, his eyes wandering down to the coffee stain on your apron.
“Just here,” you sweep away and wave them on with you. You stop beside the nicest booth and lay down a menu on each side, “have a seat.”
They do just as you bid. The blond puts his cowl on the table and unhooks the shield from his back to lay on the far end of the seat. He smooths back the sweaty strands of hair as his companion stretches his metal fingers. You sway nervously by the table, twitching as you remind yourself how to do your job.
“Well, can I get ya started with coffee? You look beat from the road.” You beam with the smile Mr. Welk says could outshine the sun.
“Not just the road,” the dark-haired one mutters as he rolls his shoulder. The one that connects to his real arm. “I’ll take one, please.”
“Can I get an orange juice, please,” the Captain asks.
“Course ya can. I’ll be right back. You have a look at the specials and give it a think,” you bounce and spin around.
You go to pour the orange juice and a cup of black coffee. Darnell lingers by the window. He only ever really appears to put a plate up but he watches the new arrivals.
You bring their drinks and step back, clasping your hands behind you.
“Did ya need cream or sugar for your coffee, sir?” You ask.
“Black’s fine,” he assures.
“No need for the sirs. Steve, Bucky,” Captain America insists, “we’re off duty.”
“Right, sorry about that, ssss...Steve,” you correct yourself. “You need some more time?”
“Think I’m decided,” Bucky intones, “what about you?”
“Set,” Steve confirms, “I’ll have the sunny side up with toast and sausage. Can I get some fruit on the side as well, please?”
He hands over the menu and you take it as you hold your smile. Your cheeks ache. Not because you have to force it but because you can’t stop. This is the most exciting thing to happen in Tumble Down ever. If Darnell wasn’t there, no one would believe you.
“Overeasy, bacon, extra bacon too, and some french toast, and uh... home fries.” Bucky offers up the second menu, “please and thank you.”
“Alrighty,” you preen, “I’ll put your order in.”
“Got it,” Darnell growls over the empty diner.
“He’s got good hearing,” you giggle nervously as you look between the men. “Ummmm, sorry, I’ll leave ya be.”
“You’re not bothering,” Steve assures. “I can see you’re dying to ask.”
He gives a gentle smile.
“Nah, oh, gosh. I’m sure ya get it all the time. I don’t wanna be one of those,” you put your hands up. “Really, you all look like you could use the peace and quiet.”
“Well, actually, I’ve been stuck with this meathead for days,” Bucky scoffs, “so please, I’d love to hear someone else’s voice.”
You laugh again. They’re funnier than you expect. They always look so serious on the TV.
“What... what are y’all doing here in Tumble Down? It’s a bit far from... anywhere.” You ask sheepishly.
“Tumble Down? Is that what it’s called?” Steve scratches his neck above his stained collar. “Well, we couldn’t get a signal so we’ve just been riding through. Saw the sign down the way and figured we’d get a bite.”
“He’s lying. He was falling asleep on his bike,” Bucky teases.
“Sure,” Steve shakes his head. “Only ‘cause I’m tired of you.”
You giggle again, “I thought y’all were friends.”
“Friends, partners, cursed with each other, have your pick,” Bucky snorts.
“He’s playing,” Steve says. “Look, we’re boring. Despite what you think. We’re a couple of old men bickering with each other. What about you? What about Tumble Down?”
“Ah, nothing really, sir. Steve,” you squeeze the menus tight at the edges. “Nothing going on since the coal law and that. Everyone’s all but run out. All but us.”
“Just you? Your family?” Steve wonders.
“Jesus, Steve, nosy much?” Bucky says over the brim of his mug.
“Sorry. He’s right. Like I said. Crotchety old man. I talk to the pigeons.”
You laugh again, “oh my, you are a hoot!” You slap your thigh emphatically, “I’m still my ma and pa. It’s just the three of us. They need help with the animals and that.”
“Animals?” Steve wonders, his posture shifting towards you.
“Chickens, cows. They got a farm. Was my grandpa’s. And his ma kept it going after he didn’t come home from... well, you’d know more about that time than me, I think.” You give a forlorn look to the floor.
“Oh, I’m so sorry about your grandfather. Great grandfather,” he corrects himself.
“Lotta good men gone,” Bucky mulls grimly.
“Yeah, my great granny said as much. I wouldn’t know though, but I heard the stories,” you dare to look at them again. “Sorry to bring up the bad memories.”
“Nah,” Bucky waves you off casually. “I got this nifty arm outta it.”
“And I got a shield so, you know, not all losses,” Steve chuckles.
“I s’pose,” you agree. “I’m gonna check on that food for ya. You good with your coffee?”
Bucky raises the mug, “delicious.”
You nod and turn with a swish of your skirt. You go up to the window and look over the ledge. “How’s it going, Darnell?”
“Going. I’m happy it ain’t Raylene here. She’s got a mouth on her, don’t she? Them sort don’t deserve that trouble,” he tisks.
“They’re nice. And Raylene is too. She’s just... Raylene,” you say, “can I help with anything?”
“I don’t wanna be rude but I’m tired of tellin’ ya to stay outta my kitchen. You know the grill likes to spit,” he shakes his head. “You go, I’ll let ya know when it’s ready.”
“Alright,” you back away and turn back.
Steve and Bucky lean over the table, their voices low as they chat. As you move around behind the counter, they both sit up and the former clears his throat. You smile as you take the cloth from your apron pocket and wipe the already clean counter.
As the radio buzzes, you hum without thinking. Stevie Ray Vaughan’s smoky voice mingles with the emotion plucked through electric strings. Your dad’s a big fan. He has old tapes with concerts on them and even went to one himself.
The bell rings and you nearly jump out of your shoes. You turn and scoop up the plates as you thank Darnell. He grumbles that he’s going out to have a smoke; his code for having a Tootsie Pop by the backdoor.
You bring the meals over to the table and set them down before the men. Their gazes make you sweat. It’s all a little more intense with no one else there.
“Thank you,” Steve says and Bucky echoes him.
“Not at all. Anything else? Water? Ketchup?”
“It all looks great as is,” Steve says, “you got a nice voice.”
“Oh, really? Ha, I was just humming out of tune. Sorry if I was too loud.”
“Not at all,” Bucky picks up his fork as he leans forward. He tilts his head. “You know this one?”
“Sure do. It’s Fleetwood Mac,” you answer. “One my all times.”
He grins and nods as he looks at Steve. Steve watches you with a smile of his own.
“Do you sing?” He asks.
“Me? Only in my shower or to the chickens. They usually hide in the henhouse then.” You tinkle with laughter.
“Ah,” Steve nods.
“But if... if ya really wanna suffer, I could try it,” you smile, “but uh, you know, Stevie Nicks, she’s one of a kind.”
“I’ve had worse,” Steve says.
You look between him and Bucky. You chew your lip and think. You follow the song as you try to recognise which verse it is. You squint and perk up as you catch your place.
“You just let me know when you’ve had enough,” you say before you start. Not only can you tell your pa that you met the super soldiers, you can tell him you sang for them. It’ll be a nice bit of excitement for the dinner table.

"Our beautiful lovebirds." — The camera, which was recording a video, is pointed at you and Tom, who were sitting in your chairs and observing yourself in the mirror that had been placed by the makeup artists. — "I love calling them that." — She commented alone, then, laughing; until Tom put the peacekeeper helmet on your head, all the while laughing about how adorable he looked.
Quickly, he grabbed his cell phone that was on the table in front of him and took a photo; in fact, more than two photos. — Suddenly, the camera goes into frontal mode, showing Rachel's image.
"A cliché couple, i love them."
Tumblr media
"About the movie, i'm curious to know, in your opinion, what was the best thing about it?" — The interviewer asked, uncrossing her legs and waiting, attentively, for the answers.
"The best thing?" — A fake thoughtful frown formed on your face. — "I really think it was seeing blond Tom…?" — Tom hit your leg, laughing along with the interviewer; you tried to maintain a serious expression, conveying an air of confidence with your answer, a very complicated mission. — "Oh, and the worst thing was him returning to his natural color." — Your eyes swept over Tom, who continued to laugh, smiling listening to the sound of his laugh.
"That's not possible." — He recovered, running his hand through his coat, fixing it a little, and turning his head to the side, looking at you; his lips were still forming a mischievous smile. — "I remember you saying you're the number one fan of my natural hair." — Tom crossed his arms with a defiant look, and tilted his head.
"And i am, my dear." — Imitating his action, you also crossed your arms, teasing your boyfriend; Tom lightly pushed your arm and placed a hand on your thigh.
Tumblr media
"Oh, and Tom and Y/n're, like, Lenny's godparents." — Rachel fixed her headphones, removing some strands that were in her ears, turning her head to the interviewer and Tom. — "Sometimes i feel like he prefers them over me." — She joked, feigning a melancholic frown and forming a small pout.
"It's just that she and i are his favorites now." — Tom replied, earning laughs from the interviewer and Rachel.
Tumblr media
"And Y/n is the clear winner!" — Tom announced, clasping his hands together and looking at the camera, watching one of the producers, who worked behind the cameras, prepare to present the small prize. — "Can i dedicate a speech demonstrating my pride or is it too early?" — Rachel laughed, not believing his words and finding it funny, accompanied by Josh, with you making a gesture of reference. — "Please, honey."
"I don't know but i'll listen." — You replied, arranging a high-five with your boyfriend and noticing the presence of the little prize approaching. — "This is for me?" — Tilting your hand, you took the enchanting object and admired it; something that looked like a miniature Oscar, and was really adorable.
"When you're the best, you're the best." — Rachel and Josh spoke together.
Tumblr media
"And i think Y/n just arrived!" — The interviewer commented, tilting her head towards a small crowd that was forming at the beginning of the red carpet; and several flashes and some screams were witnessed by everyone at the scene.
"Oh, she's here." — Leaning his hands on the railing and moving away, Tom ran his eyes over the crowd; until, finally, he had the opportunity to see you and, automatically, an exuberant glow remained in his deep blue eyes. — You were so beautiful, always have been, he thought. — "Look at her." — His tone was low, but so admirable and enchanted. — "I need to ask her for an autograph."

Thinking about red dead biker au…
When you buy a new helmet and John immediately has to see “how durable it is”. He puts on his own helmet and headbutts you. You’re fine, the shock absorption is actually really good. John however decides he needs a sit down and to also get himself a new helmet.
Arthur rarely rides anymore after getting in a pretty serious accident where one of his ribs pierced his lungs. Hasn’t been right ever since really. But he does cruse with the gang every now and again, choosing to ride an old Harley or Ducati Diavel cause it “feels safer” he knows it’s not but whatever lets him sleep at night.
Lenny and Sean are young and stupid, racing each other, getting pulled over and then locked up for the night. Hosea has to come bail them out the next morning. They will do it again.
Abigail and the girls usually ride with each other but once Jack is old enough he will sometimes tag along. Abi doesn’t let him ride with John until he’s at least 12 or 13.
Jack gets his own bike at 19 though he had “borrowed” Lennys bike a few times as a teen.
Charles keeps so much stuff in his top-box. Wood carving equipment, snacks, spare sweat shirt; on long rides he’ll insist on pit stops to look at the scenery and to stretch his legs.
I have more ideas but I’ll leave it there

Once again, did some fanart of @lenny-link TF2 x SU AU, but tried making more fusions! :]
First one is Andalusite [Heavy + Medic] (who I've drawn before already), second one is Iolite [Cheavy + Medic], and the third one is Ametrine [Demoman + Soldier].
[Below the keep reading line, I'll show off the fourth fusion I drew as well, but ended up just-- disliking to hell and back o(-( Also, some notes and such about each fusion]
First off, here's the fourth fusion I did, which was Cat's Eye Tourmaline [Scout + Sniper]. (Side note: I picked out Tiger's Eye as Sniper's gem)
Tumblr media
After looking at Steven's fusions with other gems (since Scout's a half-human half-gem in this AU fusing with Sniper who's a full gem), I did notice that basically all of them (besides Obsidian) had some kind of oddity to them. Like Smokey Quartz has three arms instead of four or just two, Rainbow 2.0 is the first gem with male pronouns and has a tad bit strange legs, and Sunstone isn't as humanoid as the other (non-corrupted) gems and fusions.
So I wanted to show that off here, but uh, I just ended up giving up on it in the end o(-( Mostly 'cause I had no clue how I wanted to color them based on the Cat's Eye Tourmaline gem, but also 'cause the overall design ended up leaned a bit more towards Sniper's design than I intended it to do.
Anyways, onto the notes for the other fusions.
Andalusite [Heavy + Medic]:
The duo that imo would probably fuse the most out of the TF2 crew, whether for battle or to just relax together (like reading a book or whatever). So with that, Heavy and Medic would have had plenty of time to refine how their fusion would look like, and making sure both of them like how they look together.
For their fusion weapon, I was thinking about them either having something like Garnet's upgraded gauntlets (the ones with spikes jutting out of it's knuckles), or letting the gauntlets have claws or something.
Iolite [Cheavy + Medic]:
I mostly did this one 'cause of one of the drawings in Lenny-Link's original piece, which made me thinking of Lapis and Jasper fusing into Malachite and all that, which lead me to this. I wanted the design to 1. Make it look chaotic due to the two people that are fused here, but also 2. Make it lean a tad more towards Cheavy's looks to make said guy think that he's the one mostly in control of the fusion, only to have Medic take over take over and do something to trap the fusion and/or get them the hell away from the TF2 crew. Something something angst idk lol
Decided to make Cheavy a [blue] Topaz. Since Heavy's a Topaz as well. I don't have any other reason than that :') Also, I placed his gem on the side of his right shoulder.
The eye goggles change color depending on who is in control. If the two weren't fighting for it, it would be one eye blue and one eye magenta. But since they are, whenever Cheavy's in control, the eyes are blue. And whenever Medic's in control, the eyes are magenta.
Ametrine [Demoman + Soldier]:
Originally, I was going to have them be a Morganite, but decided on Ametrine instead as it fit their color scheme more. Also originally, I was going to give them a knight helmet, but I wanted to draw their hair, so I instead gave them a bandana covering their possibly one eye. Possibly.
Assuming Soldier's helmet (with or without the horns) is Soldier's gem weapon like Jasper's helmet, I thought it would be neat if their fusion weapon [(horned) helmet + sword] would be something like a Morningstar, which they would be able to duel-wield without much trouble.
I've got other lil' ideas as well for this AU, like how Jeremy/Scout was the one that gave these gems their nicknames (Spy, Sniper, Engineer, etc.), how Medic grew a fascination for the organic lifeforms of Earth and how exactly they healed/was able to treat their wounds, and how- instead of Spy being all dead and gone Rose Quartz style when Jeremy was born- Spy is a lot weaker than he should be due Jeremy getting half of his gem. But uh-- I don't wanna go too overboard when this ain't even my AU :')
Either way, I'll probably go and relax a bit before drawing some regular TF2 stuff. But I might do some more fanart for this AU whenever I feel up for it. 'Cause genuinely, I love this AU sm <3

Hey what's your headcannon about Lenny tho
This is gonna be a long post. Sector z Lenny: Interest: - He learned his love for boxing from the movie Rocky (1976) - Has a hyperfixation of boxing and football (Would definitely sneak into one if he can't afford to go) - Is the only kid in his sector that loves to learn stuff in school or anywhere really. - Dreams to be a boxer or a football player when he grows up, or if his plans doesn't work then a coach. Personal: - Is a friend magnet, he can be friends with anyone even villains! - His teeth are super messed up, you can see his canines poking out. - Very insecure of his sheep like laugh - Has a sweet tooth - Loves to eat spice even if his tongue hurts. - Hides his own emotions to help others. - Would try to use big words to sound smart but fails.
Tumblr media
Delightful Lenny: Interest: - Does have a Pokemon collection (Hides it from anyone, even his siblings and father) - Loves the topics of Neurology and the biology of the human body. - Dreams of becoming a doctor or dentist, if he ever grows up. - Interest of learning about dental hygiene and would even study his own teeth. - The only villain he likes Knightbrace, since he would gladly tell Lenny about dental work. - One of his comforts is drinking coffee Personal: - Lost his love for spots since he was delightfulized. - Braces would hurt his teeth even more, can't even chew hard-like foods, has to be soft. - Will insult you even if you were nice to him, he is very introvert. - Him and his siblings are very similar, but what makes him different is how he can be easily tricked. Get him into revealing evil plans by giving him compliments. - Is the only delightful who can be separate for a long time, but will get a anxiety attack.
Tumblr media
(I know he has a helmet, but this screenshot is my fav) LTDFCD Lenny: Interest: - Loves to swim, like will swim for hours until his body is wrinkled and sore. - The interest in the sea is his number one goal to talk about, will ramble for hours about it. Personal: - Has a pet turtle that lives in a box - Can't go without a day of eating a snow cone. - He is too joyful to even get mad. Insult him and he'll be like "Ok, but you wanna go swim in that lake over there?" - Forgets to wear shoes, accidentally making the floors even more dirty at home.
Tumblr media
Headcanons of them as a whole!: - We'll get very overwhelmed easily, trying to distract themselves or just hold it in until their alone or with their love ones (siblings/friends) - Has Leproiphobia (Fear of bunnies) - Doesn't like being felt alone and will find someone to hangout with or even stand next too. - HATES the dark - They believe if they don't wear their accessories (Helmet, goggles, and head gear). They'll look weird and feel insecure of taking it off.

“Everyone smile for the camera!” Angelo called as he set the camera's timer before joining with the rest of the family that stood in front of the garden's pond to set the scenery.
Carol and Angelo stood side by side with Father who stood over the Delightful Children, including Bailey.
Bailey had been centered with the Delightful Children, who seemed to be putting on forced smiles except for David, who wore a more cold neutral expression most of the time.
It was hard to tell what any of them were thinking.
Carol had been holding onto goat baby Piper, who seemed to be growing fussy from the cold nippy air.
They would whine and kick in the bundled constraints of a soft blue blanket Carol wrapped them in to conserve a little warmth.
“Oh, Piper, hang in there just a moment longer, darling.” Carol hushed gently.
As the camera counted down the last few seconds, there would be a slight drop of melted snow that slid off the branch of a blossom tree that landed right on Piper's forehead.
The snow caused Piper to fuss louder, and unexpectedly, tendrils would be lurking from underneath the bundling blanket, flailing around in an angry manner.
Piper wanted to go inside, and Bailey looked like she was about to run, but Father sensed her fear, and decided to put his hands on her shoulders to keep her from freezing up.
“Slow your roll, Piper isn't gonna eat you… probably- They ate, right?” Father asks Carol, which Bailey laughed off nervously as a twisted joke of his.
“Uh- M-Miss Carol? Is the baby alright? They seem a bit upset-” Bailey gasps as she has to dodge a tentacle from whacking her glasses off.
“Believe it or not, that's normal.” Angelo says nonchalantly. In other words, same shit, different day.
“Oh, they're just a bit cold, but we'll warm up inside soon. Say cheese everyone!” Carol chirped, seeming very calm as she casually held the demon spawn in her arms that wailed, wriggled and screamed very unhappily.
In the end, the family photo turned out as well as it could have with little Piper being in the middle of their small tantrum with the cold elements.
Angelo had a smile that could kill, Father held a sharp gaze, Carol stood prideful, and as pleasant as Bailey was, the fear in her eyes was evident through that tense smile she held as the camera flashed to take the photo.
“Absolutely beautiful, Dew Drop! This family is truly complete now.” Carol smiles before hanging the freshly framed family picture on the wall.
Carol gently pet Bailey's hair, finding how easy it was to be a motherly figure to the girl.
Although Carol could never replace Bailey's mother, she wanted to be the positive female role model she could be for her.
Of course, that wasn't hard to accomplish, considering how well Bailey had been taken care of.
The Delightful Children all roll their eyes as they listen to Carol coddle who they considered to be a stain of the family.
Standing out in the hallway of the living room, they end up pushing Lenny inside toward Carol and Bailey so that they can enact their personal mission, Operation: Bleach Out.
The first trial of the plan was for Lenny to lead Bailey toward the outskirts of town to abandon her in the woods.
“Wait- I'm starting to have some second thoughts about this-”
Before Lenny could utter more, Carol noticed the red helmet boy before calling him along.
“Lenny, dear, don't be shy. Why don't you spend some quality time with your sister?” Carol bubbled.
“Oh- That's really okay. I'm sure he would rather-
… Oh…” Bailey's soft tone of voice hadn't caught Carol's attention as she began to walk away on her CEO level heels.
“If anyone needs me, I'm going to be working on a few special things in my workshop…. And to ensure that Piper doesn't burn the house down. They were pretty fussy this morning.” The sound of Carol's heels would softly fade as she walked out of sight, which left Bailey with lil Lenny.
Lenny felt a little stand-offish and awkward, but he had his part of the plan to complete, and then they would be rid of the stain forever.
“... So! Heh… It was a nice morning, aside from the chill. I know that was my fault.” Bailey began, trying to be light and positive.
“I'll try not to make it a habit, but if you ever want a snow day, you know who to come to. Ahah- just kidding. That would be kinda irresponsible.” Bailey chuckles, but at this point, it felt like she was desperately trying to fill in for the uncomfortable silence.
Lenny was silent and stared at her blankly for a moment, wondering how this operation would progress and move itself along.
He had to begin with the first phase of getting Bailey out of the house and showing her around the neighborhood.
“Um… So… What would you like to do, Lenny? … Actually, where's everyone else? I've never seen you without them until now.” Bailey noted curiously over the absence of the other Delightful Children.
“They're around. I just wanted to spend quality time with my sister.” Lenny lied.
“I was actually thinking we could go for a little stroll.” He suggested.
“I don't mind that. I'll try not to freeze the neighborhood again.” Bailey smiles, thinking that Lenny meant well enough.
“uh- maybe grab a jacket just in case. I don't want to give you a cold.” She added.
Grabbing his jacket, Lenny was ready to stroll with Bailey down the neighborhood sidewalk.
As they walk along, he notices the trail of frosty steps she leaves behind, and how chilly it was to stand near Bailey, something he also felt during picture time as well.
“Why are you always so cold?” Lenny shivered slightly.
“Huh? Oh, I'm sorry… Here.” Bailey took off her scarf to wrap around lil Lenny.
“Hey what are you-!?” Lenny tensed, and it took a moment to realize Bailey had given lil Lenny her scarf to warm up in her presence.
“... Your scarf? Aren't you cold?” Lenny asks as he pointed out the slight blue skin frosting on Bailey's neck area.
“... It'll keep you warmer than me. I'll be alright.” Bailey ensured.
It was one of those nice kind hearted acts that Lenny wasn't sure how to react to.
Why was she so nice? All it did was make things more frustrating for him, and he couldn't help but scoff to himself.
“Yeah, that's what you said last night. Then you froze the entire house, and caused a snow day in the middle of April.” Lenny replied flatly.
“Well… That's a bit different. I just have trouble sleeping.” Bailey began, drawing her hands into her sweater sleeves.
“I don't know why. Isn't it more comfortable in our home than out on the streets?” Lenny inquired, perhaps with insensitivity.
“Of course. …. It's not that I'm ungrateful. I know very well that Papa could have turned me away.” Bailey says more softly.
“Then why are you always so gloomy? You hardly eat, you freeze at any given moment, and you hardly even make eye contact when someone's speaking to you. Carol obviously wants to be a mother figure to you, and you haven't even called her by Mother yet.” Lenny was quick to point out.
Most teens wouldn't have the patience, but Bailey drew in a deep breath, looking down at lil Lenny as the frost crunched beneath her steps.
“I appreciate everything Miss Carol is doing to welcome me. There's only so much she can do.” Bailey says.
“Only so much? What else do you need?” Lenny asks rhetorically.
“My Mama” Bailey answered simply, which left a bit of a silent momentary gap between them.
“But- she's not coming back, so… I have to accept that eventually. I mean… I have, and I haven't.” Bailey says, looking forward along their walk.
Lenny wasn't really sure what to say, feeling a strange sense of foot-in-mouth syndrome.
Perhaps he never thought of Bailey as someone with a past, only having seen her as a stain that made the family weaker as a unit.
“.... Why did she leave you?” Lenny asks.
“.... I'm not really sure.” Bailey answered in a bittersweet kind of tone.
As they walked, a small cloud formed over Bailey's head, and it began to rain slightly, so Lenny would have to make a distance between them to refrain from getting drenched by Bailey's rain cloud.
“Is she always this gloomy?” He muttered to himself, and Bailey could tell how annoyed he was already.
“Sorry… Do you just want to turn around?” Bailey figured that her emotions were getting the best of her, which was affecting her powers, but the tears were easy to blend in under the rain.
They couldn't turn around just yet, Lenny still had to lead Bailey and ditch her all the way into the outskirts.
“No- let's keep going. There's a pathway that's nice to stroll through this time of day. We should go.” Lenny insisted.
“Alright. It is a pretty nice day for a small hiking trail.”
“I know the path like the back of my hand. Then, we'll return home.” Lenny insisted confidently.
Lil Lenny guides Bailey through the old wooden gate that divides the neighborhood from the woods.
There would be a small path that resided by an old abandoned window mill near the bottom of the hill.
“Do you come here often? I never would've thought you were the venturing type. Especially all the way out here.” Bailey says, taking in the natural atmosphere of the forest.
“There's lots of things you don't know about me. Or our family.” Lenny says rather harshly.
Bailey was a bit stuck between a rock and hard place because no matter how she tried to converse, Lenny didn't seem to want to uphold any conversation.
He seemed to want to speak with her as little as possible, probably because he knows what he's about to do.
“..... Lenny… Can we just talk? Like- is there anything you need to get off your chest?” Bailey knew from the moment the Delightful Children started messing with her that something was wrong, and the tension only seemed to be growing like weeds in a garden since then.
“Like what, exactly?” Lenny tried to play it off, but perhaps there was frustration growing within him, the deeper they ventured into the darker part of the woods.
“... I think I know what it is, but you gotta meet me halfway, Lenny. I don't know what to do other than try to understand. That's all…” Bailey sighs.
“Okay, fine. You wanna know what the problem is?” Lenny shot a glare towards her through the darkness of his helmet, his blue eyes piercing like hateful daggers.
“It's me.”
“It's You! …. Wait-” Lenny didn't expect Bailey to answer so clearly for him.
“I know it's me, Lenny. My issues have nothing to do with you, and I know it probably feels really messed up and unfair that I'm in your space. I realize that.” Bailey says softly.
“.... So- then- why do you put up with it? Huh? You seem to let everything roll off your back. Why don't you just stand up for yourself already?? Why do you have to be so soft??” Lenny snapped, perhaps letting a bit of anger get the best of him.
Bailey didn't have any answers for him though, and she was unable to utter an answer he would understand.
“... Tch… It doesn't matter. You make us weaker as a unit. You're no Wigglestein, you'll never be cut out for this life. You should get out while you still can.” Lenny says.
Although it did come off harsh, there was a little bit of warning in his undertone.
“.... You're probably right, Lenny. But I've been running for so long at this point. I don't know where else I'd run off to.” Bailey says truthfully.
She wasn't hurt, or angry, or devastated.
Bailey seemed to speak from a place of exhaustion, as the raincloud kept pouring over her.
Lenny saw how pathetic and pitiful the scene was, and he had to force himself to turn his back to her.
“Don't make this harder than it has to be.” Lenny says shortly.
At that point, Bailey caught onto the real purpose of this walk, but she still wasn't angry at him.
She understood his frustration, and the last thing she wanted was to cause any issues.
For one thing, she didn't have the energy to fight.
Without saying much, Bailey turned and made an opposite direction into the woods, leaving Lenny to return home once she made a decent distance between them.
As he hears her footsteps fade away, he walks along the path, only to hear a dreadful crunch of a twig nearby.
With a groan, Lenny turns around, presumably to tell Bailey off again.
“Didn't I tell you to go away??” Lenny practically shouted, but he quickly silenced once he heard low growls coming from the shadows, paired with hungry yellow eyes that glow through the brushes of leaves and tall grass.
His throat went dry as he found himself backing up against a tree, his body tensing, as if preparing for what would come next.
The grey wolf stepped into the sliver of sunlight that broke through the tree's, having a hungry predatory glare at the small helmet boy.
“N-Nice wolfy-” Lenny trembles in his spot, having limited options and nowhere to run.
Even if he did run, the wolf would've been much, much faster.
Before Lenny even gets the chance to act, the Grey Wolf lets out a loud howl that echoes through the forest, before going to pounce on his meal.
Lenny let out a natural fearful scream as he shields himself for the worst to come.
Surprisingly though, Lenny is saved when the wolf is tackled to the ground by an unknown force.
He looked up to see that it was Bailey.
She had managed to come back as soon as she heard the wolf's howl.
Bailey struggled and fought the wolf with an energy that Lenny didn't know she even had.
It was like watching a whole other person as Bailey clung onto the wolf's back, her arms coiled around its neck as she struggled to fight him off away from Lenny.
“RUN LENNY!!” Bailey shouted as the wolf snapped and snarled at her angrily.
She kept yelling at Lenny to run, but he had actually stood there frozen, perhaps in shock at what he was seeing.
The wolf ends up getting the upper hand as he easily throws Bailey off its back, making her fly hard with her back against the tree.
The wind had been knocked out of her, and the wolf stood over her with malice.
“Run Lenny! RUN!” Bailey kept shouting as she then had to fight the snapping jaw of the gray beast.
Lenny knew he should have run, but instead, he does something that the other Delightful Children would've considered a stupid move.
He bravely takes a large rock and throws it hard over the wolf's tail, causing it to howl and whine in pain.
“BAILEY!” Lenny shouted for her to get up while she had the chance.
Bailey gets up and takes Lenny by the arm, sprinting with him as fast as she can because the wolf would not be too far behind.
Time was essential and limited, so Bailey ends up pulling Lenny over her back so they can both make it to safety.
Although it was the last thing Lenny wanted to do, he clung onto Bailey with dear life.
He didn't even care that Bailey's rain cloud was still pouring down over their heads, although it wasn't raining anymore, it was more like pelts of icy hail that the wolf would occasionally slip on, which did buy them a little time to stay ahead.
“Run faster!!” Lenny shouted anxiously, hearing the thumping of the wolf gaining onto them, as well as his heart pounding against his chest.
Unfortunately, they didn't make it to the old abandoned windmill by the hill, like they originally entered, which meant they were a little lost.
“Lenny, how do we get back home?”
“I… Uh… I don't know-” Lenny began.
“What do you mean you don't know??”
“Look! A lot is happening right now! I can hardly concentrate!” Lenny snapped, right before a dreadful howl could be heard not too far behind.
“Lenny- Just… Just go. Go find your way home, I'll be fine.” Bailey set Lenny down.
“What?? You're insane! You'll get eaten!” Lenny argued.
“Then that'll make me more or less your problem, won't it?” Bailey took a breath before staring down the wolf that locked his hungry eyes on them as he approached.
Lenny stood a little behind Bailey, unsure of what he should do.
The wolf was slowly inching closer, and Bailey still stood her ground, frost forming around her feet, this time with a greater purpose.
Her mission was to keep Lenny safe, which meant she was going to have to fight whether she wanted to or not.
“Lenny, look away.” Bailey warned.
Lenny in fact, did not look away, as Bailey started approaching the wolf herself.
She was a lot less timid, as she used her icy magic to make ice form around her arm before the wolf could get a chunk off with his teeth.
In the end, biting down on the icy gauntlet ends up with him losing a tooth or two.
With the other icy gauntlet, Bailey reached an arm back to land a hard punch to crunch the wolf's sensitive nose.
It probably stung worse than anything, and the wolf whines grow louder with a sound of defeat, especially when Bailey began forming what looked to be a scythe weapon made entirely out of ice.
The wolf would whimper before running back into the shadows of the woods, and once they were finally safe, Bailey fell to her knees with a newfound exhaustion.
It had been forever since she used her powers to fight like that, as that use of energy is very draining in her condition.
She used all she had in order to protect Lenny, and blood could be seen draining from her nose from the strain.
Her eyes had turned red during that sequence as well, which were now dulled into a more purple haze as opposed to their more natural ocean blue color.
“Lenny…. Are you okay?” Bailey turns back to Lenny before the dizziness ends up taking her into a blackout, and she falls onto the dried leaves below that cushion her unconscious fall.

Benny Headcanons
✮ Benny's full name is Benjamin James Blue. His birthday is July 2.
✮ Benny is the youngest of 3 kids. His brother Dennis (Denny) is the eldest, and his sister Jennifer (Jenny) is the middle child. They're also astronauts.
✮ Benny trained alongside his siblings to be a Master Builder. They were all taught by their father, who was also an astronaut, but was permanently grounded after a disastrous reentry gave him a serious, lasting injury.
✮ Benny's mom died in a firefight with Blacktron when he was very young. He doesn't really remember her.
✮ Benny started out as a fighter pilot and logged many hours flying fighter jets and test craft.
✮ Benny has a few degrees in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, astronomy, mathematics, and aeronautics.
✮ People are often surprised to learn that Benny is proficient in both armed and unarmed combat. His personality is so disarming it's easy to forget that the blue spacesuits are for soldiers/security.
✮ Benny's helmet was broken by a piece of space debris while he and his crew were out performing some routine maintenance on the moon base. They got him back inside quickly enough, but the injury was severe enough they needed to get him back planetside to have it properly treated as the base's medical staff weren't properly equipped for brain trauma. Master Builders were outlawed soon after so Benny ended up stuck grounded for a lot longer than was planned. He still has a faint scar on his face from the impact.
✮ Benny spent most of his time as an outlaw living in Cloud Cuckooland, where he became good friends with Unikitty and Metalbeard.
✮ Benny technically moved back in with his dad after TAKOS Tuesday (his apartment was cleared out & rented to someone else while he was living as an outlaw) but spent more time at Emmet's than at home. Emmet helped him to get back into some sort of routine and back onto medication for his ADHD so he could pull himself together enough to start working again. He still has days where he gets so absorbed in his projects he forgets to take care of himself though.
✮ Benny was hired back in the Space Corps just before Thanksgiving and managed to get himself into a new apartment in Bricksburg about a week before Christmas. He still hasn't been cleared for spaceflight again yet.
✮ Some of Benny's favorite hobbies include geocaching (which Metalbeard got him into), and building model planes and spaceships. He's even built a few remote-controlled planes, though he much prefers flying real ones.
✮ Benny is reluctant to admit it, especially to them, but he'd kind of been crushing on GCBC for a couple years before TAKOS Tuesday.
✮ Benny dated Lenny for about a year, but they decided they worked better as friends and broke up.

Alright, I'm finally done with this redraw of old fanarts I did 5-6 years ago. I tried to give them a more dynamic pose when I could.
I took the opportunity to draw Lenny without his helmet, in both his delightful side and his Sector Z counterpart. Also, that's also his canon haircut as Sector Z 👀
Since I don't know the canon eye colour for Constance, I went with the solid black dot eyes for her.

Hello 👋 sorry you keep getting delightful children/ sector z asks but I thought about this and wanted to know your take on it so if they get undelightfulized what would change from there personalities/ mental health? How would they deal with it?
(Sorry if this is just a messy doodle, I wanted to explain it with only slight differences of their personality rather than showcase it for now)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If put into a hypothetical situation, I would put into thought that they would be undelightfulized when Operation ZERO occured and stayed as Sector Z.
The idea of freedom after what felt like years of being delightfuls was such a breath of fresh air but also a sudden change, They didn't know how to process it all while in Operation ZERO but when they do, It gets all weird like a pill that's hard to swallow.
Sector Z would get their places back in the KND and their old positions back in the organization but with slight changes in their demeanors.
Bruce was more hard on himself as he constantly blames himself for putting his team into such positions that he vowed he'd never let it happen again, Alongside David, They became more protective and on guard for the whole time.
Never once did Bruce stop being cautious as he looked out for his team more, David was considered as the 'big brother' when they were Delightfuls so he kept that role and became one of the overprotective ones of the sector.
Bruce's eyes we're already blue before being delightful so the slight change or hue only affected him which he despises the most, It reminded him too much of what happened.
Alessandra was still her same old self, A timid yet charismatic girl with a love for combat and had a respectful aura to her but recently became more solemn and reserved. She never forgot about the trauma her and her sector went through and had still been processing everything that happened, questioning why it took so long and what would happen if it happens again? She didn't want to think about it but what more can she think about?
Lenny was still a bit shaken up about what happened and even the slightest mention would make him freeze on the spot and his mind would start whirling with memories, The only thing he felt safe in were either in Constance's touch or his safety blanket. He still had some bad memories considering he was the one who got more injuries and trouble than the rest, He still got scared. Sometimes, he couldn't stop thinking about his football helmet.
Constance was always the quiet and reserved kind of person but lately they've been more distant and unavailable, Not easy to opening up to other people other than their sector. They have still been thinking through their past and wanted to take things slow and steady to process, They were still themselves but their silence felt more cold and distant now if you were new to them.
Sometimes all of them would subconsciously do things or speak in unison, much to their collective dismay. They tried to avoid doing so whenever a pull in their mind started tugging, They wouldn't give in and just try to ignore their old habits.

Sector Z- I only colored Lenny and Alessandra and they're meant to match my dcfdtl hc designs. I also didn't do their helmets

I may color Constance as she has my favorite Sector Z design. I also doodled Teen Tornado and my hc design for Prom Queen (post breakup lore)

I'm making a KND discussion of the members of Sector Z positions in the KND outside their sectors. (New Headcanon)
Okay, I always like the headcanon that Chad knew Sector Z and used to train them, specifically with Lenny. Therefore, I decided to expand the idea by thinking that every relevant former KND Operatives in the Teen Ninjas squad or current TND operatives except Maurice and Rachel (post-finale) learned most of their combat and leadership skills from Sector Z.
For example
Bruce was Numbuh 100/The Steve Mentor
David was Chuckie's Mentor
Alessandra was Cree's/Numbuh 11 Mentor
Lenny was Chad's/Numbuh 274 Mentor
Constance was The Teenage Spy Mentor
Inadvertently, this idea implies that Alessandra and Lenny were the KND's most elite and strongest operatives in combat, considering the status of Cree and Chad being called the KND's best and strongest operatives of their time.
It could explain why only Alessandra and Lenny are militaristic armor by design than the other members of their sector because they were higher in command in the KND organization like Numbuh 35, 36A & 36B, 44A & 44B, 65.3, 86, 100, 206, 274, 362. Hence, their similar clothing styles of a metallic pot or samurai helmet of sorts (indicating their status of higher command) and black-to-brown combat shoes/boots.
Alessandra and Lenny were probably High Ranking Drill Sergeants for the KND and had their departments. Therefore, this means that Alessandra and Lenny were part of the old KND Global Command when they were outside of their sector or missions.
As for the other members of Sector Z, I think they were some variation of high-command KND operatives (a different department of KND global command operatives but still associated with them) considering how similar their clothing is to each other. If this is the case for the members of Sector Z, this could explain their legendary status among the Kids Next Door if they often or are associated with KND Global Command.
Post Edit 6/25/23:
I believe that Alessandra & Bruce are KND Global Officers Now. The indication for proofing this is that only global command officers wear padded circles with outfits.
I believe that Bruce is the leader/head of his department, considering that David & Constance also wear similar clothing to him. However, they lack the signature padded circles may indicate that they are under his leadership.
As for Alessandra, she's probably from a different department of global command based on her outfit being different from Bruce's.

Hey, Alessandra! You ever switch helmets with Lenny either by accident or not?
yay! people to talk to! lennys heads a different shape from mine but we've swapped before just to see what it looks like, the chin strap he has on his helmet is a bit tight on me though XP
