Thoughts on the TRAILER for TBHK Season 2
Ngl when I 1st saw this was out I immediately was skeptical due to how much attention the spin off series was getting, but No, THIS IS the MAIN SERIES!!
Omg the New animation looks beautiful, like just Look at HIM!!, in all seriousness tho it's good to see that TBHK back and is FINALLY getting the recognition it Deserves, like it's such an underrated series and In opinion could be one of the Greatest series. Really Happy that it's back, It's been a awhile So I can't exactly rember what happens Next, but whatever it is, I'm sure it was worth the wait ^^;
IT'S THE CLOCK KEEPERS ARC IT'S THE CLOCK KEEPERS ARC!!! Omg I Knew they were gonna do this, I was like it's either gonna be this or The young Exorcist arc, since they skipped it last season, i mean I'm sure we're Still getting it but I'm SO Happy we're also getting this too; 2025 is Already looking like a Great year, get ready for the Tears because aidairo DON'T PLAY >_<
Manga SPOILERS ahead But if we're getting who I think we are getting then I think Sarah Wiedenheft Needs to voice her for the Dub, Because it's literally like the perfect, I mean she already has some experience with playing small playfull yet scary female characters, and her personality literally reminds me of Charmy from black clover, So yeah we should go with this, Also We missed a Huge opportunity with Tiara minamoto not being portrayed by lisette monique Diaz, So I'm hoping we don't repeat the same mistake again with this 1 next
Omg are we in store for So much shit Next season and if I remember correctly, We should be getting at least 3 freakin Arcs, Oh yeah this is definitely gonna be a good season, TBHK IS OFFICIALLY BACK BABY!! ^^ Also I understand that Some people want the picture perfect arc to be part of this season, but in my honest opinion, I really think they shouldn't do that, because that arc works Way better as a movie in my opinion, also Because the 3 arcs we should be getting are the Clock keepers, the young Exorcist, and the Star festival arc, especially since those were Skipped last season, if we get those that should at least cover the entire slot for the season, Adding another arc would be giving too much and in my opinion, completely pointless, plus think of all the things we could get if this were a movie: Plushies, artbooks, key chains, and many other things, like the list goes on and on; Also regarding the Opening for Season 2, I'm sorry but I Really think they should go with Resuing the same 1 from last season, i mean i understand why they wouldn't but in my opinion, They legit totally should, because it's just That Good; from the visuals, to the tone, to even the title everything just Screams TBHK, and besides other animes like HxH and Sailor moon have re used the same openings before and Look how well they've turned out , So why can't This 1 do the same; Anyway whaddya think, Are you excited for Next Season?

IWTV S2 - ANOTHER commercial teaser!? Analysis & EP5 Theories
Lord, I have places to be in the morning, but AMC thinks it's cute to release multiple teasers in a day. 😭
tumblr
This is a SPICY one for Louis, too! 👀
We start with the familiar "Me n' you; you n' me" from Louis, but we see a teensy bit more of his fallout with Claudia:
Claudia's head is being pushed down into something as she screams.
And thanks to the teaser we got earlier today, we can assume Lou's in the burlap sack the (the night the Theatre jumps him, Claud & Madz).
They jump from Claudia yelling at Louis, to Louis yelling "YOU left ME!" I NEED to know who Louis is talking to--it's a hard cut from Claudia to Louis, but I bet he's talking to someone else.
Cuz of the cut to Armand looking concerned as he calls Lou's name (Merrick?), now I'm thinking about the books, where we know Armand left Louis (in IWTV) for Daniel (in QotD). So is that a Loumand argument? 👀 Cuz I'm telling y'all, I don't trust them in Dubai, and the goat Carol Cutshall already threw shade their way, with the "so-called love of his life" line. I'm side-eying them HEAVY.
And good grief, poor Louis' going THROUGH IT in his dark room.
But the REAL reason I'm posting all this is cuz of this juicy morsel:
😳 LOUSTAT KISSING IN EPISODE 5 FOOTAGE. 😳
AMC, what in heaven's name is HAPPENING!?
Neither Louis nor Lestat are injured here, so does this clip happen:
1) In 1931, right before Claudia came home?
2) Or even earlier, back in 1923, when Loustat was arguing about Claudia's "hunger strike"? Cuz we know Louis wore the same blue sweater TWICE in Ep5.
3) OR, this is legit from the Ep5 fight, while they were upstairs, during the parts we didn't see while they were in the coffin/bedroom?
Was it "over" cuz Louis was desperately tryna kiss and make up? Did it not work, cuz Lestat knew/convinced himself that Lou was playing him--"maybe it's the gin, my love"? Cuz Les is the one to push Louis through the wall.
I dunno, I need sleep. 😫
[EDIT] I'm dead wrong (and blind).
Thank you so much @loustat-0 -- yup, I just saw @squirrellypoo's post explaining that you have to really crank up the lighting to be able to tell that this is Louis' jean jacket from Hallucination!Lestat we've seen in 1000 other trailers, NOT the blue sweater from EP5.
Thank GOD, cuz I went to bed just DREADING what people would start saying about Ep5. 🤦

‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️MUTANT MAYHEM SPOILERSS ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENT SEEN IT AND DONT WANT SPOILERS
Okay now with that out of the way, my thoughts on the movie
I really enjoyed it.
I went to see it with a few friends and one of them made a really good point. They actually act like teenagers. Like yes, it was kinda cringey at some parts but that’s because it sounded like something a teenager would say because teenagers are awkward.
I’ve had very stupid conversations with my friends that sound like the conversations in the movie.
I noticed that this movie did the “teen talk” a lot better than I’m pretty sure all other versions of tmnt (in my opinion), even better than rise I think. Most others sound like adults writing teenagers and it sounds good most of the time but others it sounds weird.
Now for the main reason I made this post: April and Leo.
I was kind of dreading this when I saw in the trailers Leo would be interested in her (2012 April and Donnie flashbacks) but it was well done. I am a bit tired of April being a love interest for the turtles but I think it’s important to include that April is black, plus size and has acne and how Leo described her as “the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen”. Unfortunately the qualities she has aren’t shown very often to be attractive because of bs beauty standards.
It’s late so I can’t fully explain what I’m trying to say so disclaimer in case I didn’t come across this way: I don’t think that being black, plus size or having acne makes you not pretty, you are, just society sometimes says that and society is stupid.
April and Leo are cute together and written well and there is no “one of them is obsessed and the other is leading them on” going on. The fact that they end the movie looking into TCRI is adorable to me. My fav investigator duo.
Also Leo is an absolute dork. The whole phone call scene: “it’s a date then!” “Wait what a date?” “Uhhh *cue fumbling and wrestling for the phone* uhh nothing bad service byeee! Who’s got no rizz now?” Like Leo you are bad at this oh my god. (Again awkward teenager stuff)
And his bothers teasing him was so funny. They did not let that slide and teased him at every opportunity. Classic sibling behaviour
The tease for shredder was fun and I can’t wait to see what they do with him and his backstory.
Best Splinter. I love him so much. I love his whole “hating humans” arc and how he paralleled superfly and how he CHOSE to not be like him.
Both superfly and splinter have a very understandable fear (that turned into hate) of humans and how they both thought that the best way to protect their families were to hold their family too tight.
While splinter hid from the world and his fear pushed him into hiding and laying low, superfly’s fear caused him to lash out and take out his anger in a destructive way.
But splinter getting a girlfriend at the end was so cute he deserves this.
Also side note: why did so many turtles almost get hit by cars in this movie? Specifically Mikey.
He almost got hit in the flashback, then in the garage, then in the final battle with the flying cars. Then Donnie also almost got hit, I think just before they were captured but I’m not sure.
When they had to leave the movie and walked home really sadly and kept looking at the humans longingly I legit almost cried.
I was kind of surprised they ended up actually going to school and everyone was accepting. I thought they’d be like “we don’t need humans to accept us cause we accept ourselves” but I’m glad they got to go to school. They deserve it.
Also April being super upfront with them about if they didn’t save her she’d probably be running screaming was so funny. Also how she was planning to release a story about them while knowing humans probably wouldn’t accept them was a very realistic thing.
I loved April so much by the way. The way she fucking chucked the news mic into the crowd was iconic.
The fight scenes were SOOOO AMAZING I LOVED THEM SO MUCH. The splitting between the 4 (I think) fights at the same time and every other fight scene were so well done. Them figuring out that they skills they learned for years actually work in a fight and how they’re awesome at it was adorable to watch. And the way in the beginning how they were using their skills to steal get groceries was great.
All the turtles up from every version are good fighters (in their own ways) but these versions are definitely up there with how skilled and how well they work as a team. Love them.
AND THE TURTLES SHARING A ROOM AND BUNK BEDS WAS ADORABLE. It’s so funny cause later they were like “yea we have so much space to hold the 6 or 7 other mutants in our house on short notice we have lots of space!” Which means they chose to share a room with is adorable and a little bit unrealistic lol.
It seemed like a pretty realistic movie and I have bullet points of the least realistic parts (excluding the mutant animals cause duh). And this is just me being picky lol, I still loved this movie and these are just jokes.
The fact that they wrote nice things on aprils locker at the end of the movie
(Pointed out by my friend). She went from being puke girl to April O’hero. They would probably stop teasing her since she was friends with the most popular kids in the city but the 2 most likely outcomes would be
1. They just stopped and then left the insults on there, maybe scratched them out
2. Wiped off the locker and never spoke of it again
No one writes nice things on other peoples lockers lol
The boys want to share a room
I guarantee if 4 teenage brothers had a choice between sharing bunk beds and each having their own rooms, they’d have their own rooms.
Imagine arguing with your sibling and you don’t have your own room to sulk and avoid them? By choice??? People need their own spaces. No matter how much I love my siblings if I shared a room with them it’d be chaos.
There would be one prank done in that room to one of their beds and that’d be the end of the shared room lol
The fact that everyone unquestionably liked them (especially at school)
Kids are assholes. That’s it.
AGAIN this is just things I thought were unrealistic in a funny way, it’s a kids movie so it’s not that deep.
This was definitely one of my favourite versions of tmnt (I haven’t seen all of them but still). It was a good mix of serious and goofy and I liked it a lot. I recommend seeing it, I want to watch it again lol

Hello! Mom anon here! After playing through Chapter 6, my mom is terrified for Yuu's well-being.
First off, she was scared for life and crying her eyes out when Grim, Vil and Jamil were taken away. She especially felt bad for Kalim and Trey throughout the chapter. She also got deeply concerned because Ramshackle was destroyed.
As each boy was taken away, my mother got more scared and was pissed at Idia. She did understand he didn't want to do this though. She also refused to believe Ortho could do any harm.
When Crowley got taken away, she legit didn't even feel bad for him.
When the boys were being taken away, she thought Leona letting Riddle nap on his lap was kinda cute. She was shook at the reveal that Idia was from a famous family. "Still a capitalist I see" was what she said about Azul.
She was crying about Deuce and Ace. Crewel is now her favorite teacher.
She found it sweet that Epel and Rook wanted to save Vil but pitied Yuu.
She thought the whole gaming part was hilarious as well as her favorite.
Now Rook is her second favorite character.
She was crying for Ortho and Grim the whole chapter.
She felt really bad for Malleus because it reminded her of when she was a teenager. Let's just say my mom used to think she didn't need friends bit it all changed when she started warming up to people.
She was so proud of Epel for getting his unique magic.
Vil kissing Epel, Rook and Yuu was so sweet.
She thought the team ups were interesting especially Jamil and Leona.
Lol she thought the monsters were a fuss.
The Shroud brothers' backstory made her BAWL her eyes out but she was also angrily wondering where the parents were.
She felt bad for Vil turning old and was happy to see him get his young self back.
White haired Riddle is her new favorite thing.
The reunion was sweet to her, especially with ADeuce, Grim and Yuu.
She now calls Malleus "Our Lord and Savior, MalMal"
She's happy that Ramshackle got fixed.
Mama legit bursted into tears of joy when she saw Ortho again. "OH MY GOD!! He's a part of the first years! I'm so happy!"
Overall, she's glad that everything's fine for now.
Now she's worried for Malleus and all of Diasomnia. The trailer for Chapter 7 made her shout "Don't you dare try to put everyone to sleep, Tsunotaro!!"
Crowley is still on her hit list 😂.
[Here’s the other installments for the Mom Anon: Ep 2 / Ep 3 / Ep 4 / Ep 5]
There’s no Ep 1 for Heartslabyul—
Hello again and welcome back!
While I do enjoy chatting about TWST 😅 I ask that you try to cut down on the size of your asks for the future; this one and the episode 5 one have been particularly bulky. I understand that this is likely a function of the main story getting progressively longer, but please try to do your best to summarize the most relevant points.
Making each line is a new point doesn’t leave me with a lot that is meaningful to comment on, so parts of my response may be short or skip over some sections altogether 💦
Thank you for understanding! 🙏 I’m going to spoiler tag this response since 6 is just starting to be released for EN and I don’t want to spoil anyone that wants to go in blind.
I think episode 6 definitely has one of the most bombastic starts of all the main story episodes, and it manages to maintain that momentum for quite a bit. No one was quite expecting the mass raid and kidnapping 😂 we were just joking around about Vil kicking down the door and dragging Idia away from his video games kicking and screaming. 6 is when we get a lot of payoff for all of the OBs that have already transpired earlier in the plot, so the fear really kicks in. It also gives an opportunity for the non-OB boys to step up and do something in the absence of key members of their respective dorms (ie maintain order and keep the mob students from panicking).
There was an initial outcry when the first part of episode 6 released, with the rage being directed at Idia. A lot of people believed that he was the one responsible for the kidnappings and that he would subject the OB boys to unspeakable horrors as test subjects 😔 but it later turns out he’s an unwilling participant (his parents ordered him to), and the experiments mainly consist of simulated battles and playing video games. The test subjects also torment Idia as much as he torments them sooo I guess it’s even?? I just wish people hadn’t jumped to conclusions or had been so reactionary. I understand feeling worried for the safety of the characters, but some of the things being said at the time definitely weren’t warranted and went too far 💦
Something that episode 6 does well is demonstrating the bonds that have been built between the various characters in the core cast. There’s determination in Ace and Deuce rushing in to protect their friends, Pomefiore and Yuu going out of their way to rescue Vil and Grim, the strength of the vices (+ Kalim) and the NRC staff staying behind to keep the school together, and the various OB boys teaming up to venture into S.T.Y.X.’s headquarters. Everyone bands together and tries working things out in their own ways. Yeah, they hit a few (okay, a LOT of) bumps in the road, but they’re able to pull it off in the end. 6 definitely gave me a lot of food for thought, especially on the OB boys and how they have changed since their initial appearances. (I wrote this analysis of the various groupings!) I’m looking forward to rereading the localization of 6 in EN just to experience the magic again 😤
dbjssbkwns It’s good to know that Rook’s getting some appreciation 😂 He’s really the one driving this whole rescue mission with his unique magic/signature spell, so he deserves the praise!
I was in the same boat as Rook, Epel, and Yuu when Vil asked if he could hug and kiss them! I was shocked that he could be so affectionate bfjsbsksns and even funnier, that means Vil’s the first of the TWST cast to canonically kiss the player (most likely on the cheek). The TWST OC/TWSTsona community likes to romantically ship their own Yuus with various boys in the cast (and a lot of us initially got into TWST thinking it was a dating sim), so Vil giving a kiss of thanks is kind of a funny (but probably unintentional) subversion of that.
First it was Deuce in 5, then it’s Epel getting his unique magic/signature spell in 6! (I’m hoping this means Ace discovers his in 7 😭) I really liked that Rook served as a mentor figure to Epel and helped to guide him in stilling his nerves and directing his newly discovered magic! He’s like a proud parent…
Episode 6 is notorious for its time-gating snd restrictive battles (which were not seen in previous episodes). This can be very frustrating so 💦 I hope the EN players are prepared to deal with it! Some of the battles are super tough and will require a diverse card pool to achieve victory. Luckily though, some time can be saved because the JP players have already figured out and posted the answers to some of the puzzles online.
I think the Shroud brothers’ backstory was the only one of the OB boys that made me cry 🥲 It was just so emotionally resonant in a way that the others weren’t. (I also wrote an analysis about Idia, Ortho, and coping with loss, if you’re interested in that!) I believe the commonly accepted theory is that the Shroud parents are absent or hands-off when it comes to child rearing; there’s subtle hints of it throughout 6, such as Idia saying his parents care more about getting results than their son’s feelings and how it is the researchers that check on Idia a few years after Ortho’s passing rather than the Shroud parents.
Vil turning old in his selfless effort to save Idia was a clever way to incorporate the “hag” form of the Evil Queen for whom he is twisted from. It also helps his character arc come full circle 🥺 when he repeats the same words Rook spoke to him at the end of episode 5… “In this moment, I am the fairest of them all”, while looking old and decrepit… It shows that Vil has come to truly love himself in spite of how others may perceive him.
dbksbwjxnsk?vdhw Albino hair goldfishie is cute 🥰
The reunion of everyone at the end was one of the best parts of 6 (though let’s be fair, 6 had a LOT of really bangin’ parts), especially considering that this is happening so close to “the end”. You come to see and appreciate just how far you—and, by extension—all of these characters have come, the genuine friendships they’ve formed… and how that’s all going to go away very, VERY soon (due to Lilia and Malleus’s ominous conversation about the brevity of human life, and how the bonds they form make them stronger). You just KNOW the next episode will tackle mortality, loneliness, and losing the ones you love most (particularly because Yuu finding a way home will become relevant again). It makes 6’s ending super bittersweet.
Ramshackle gets fixed and we get to enjoy that luxury for all of 5 seconds before heading home—
I was so pumped seeing Ortho finally being realized as his own person and a student independent of Idia 😭 He’s the robot that was able to turn into a “real boy”, against all odds. He was able to take that 0.01% and turn that slim possibility into 100%. Ortho has definitely earned his spot at school and in all of our hearts!!
I didn’t really care what happened to Crowley when I was actually playing 6, but now I want 7 to explain what he was up to during that time 🤔 Like, we never know what he was being asked about or if he was actually being interviewed at all??? I just think it’s suspicious that we’re being left in the dark about those details.
On a final note, let’s talk Malleus! I think his general struggle is something many people can relate to. Loneliness is something we’ve all experienced one way or another. Even if we’re surrounded by tons and tons of people, we can still feel isolated and alone because there’s a component of loneliness that comes from doubt, and self-imposed circumstances. In Malleus’s case, he’s so used to loneliness that it has become his status quo, and this isolation is not only perpetuated by others but also unknowingly by himself in the little ways he acts—the arrogance, the standoffishness, etc. It can even difficult to be the one to reach out, because it involves a degree of being vulnerable yourself, of letting others “see” you as you are, rather than as the front you put up for the sake of saving grace or upholding a particular image. I hope that anyone who has ever felt like this is able to overcome it and find good company as your mom has 🙏
Episode 7 ahoy! If part 1 is of any indication, we’re in for a very… exciting ride 😇 in which Malleus may or may not take any means necessary to prevent his friends and family from leaving him—

An analysis of the new Planet of the Apes movies, having seen the latest trailer.
There are two things missing from the new Planet of the Apes series, the themes about deliberate destruction of civilization, and the themes of civil rights. The removal of those elements undermine the entire point of the series.
I used to think it was irrational that I didn't like the new Planet of the Apes movies, especially after I hadn't seen them. Mostly I don't want to see them because I find the premise annoying, antithetical to many themes of the franchise, anti-science, and other ridiculous things. I'm a big fan of the old series, I sought out EVERYTHING once upon a time. I found comics, I found all the movies, I found the cartoon, I found the TV show, I found the video games. But I have never EVER wanted to even see the new movies. I had an irrational hatred of them ever since I saw them.
Then I realized something. I thought it was shallow I hadn't seen any of them, but it's hard to see them when they've just been remaking my least favorite installment in the franchise three or four times. I saw Planet of the Apes, Beneath, Escape, and Battle, 1, 2, 3, and 5, but never Conquest, 4, because it seemed sad and depressing. If I'm seeing that movie being remade over and over and over, no wonder I don't want to see them! A die hard fan like me didn't want to see the original version, and then they just remake that movie three times?! Sometimes it is a legit point of critique if a fan can't watch an installment, or finish reading it.
Having heard from someone who has seen it though, the themes that do exist within the new films make it less powerful emotionally. They've cut out all the aspects that made the original series compelling. You can have natural disaster, you can have science gone wrong, the problem is attaching the Apes name to it. One of the fundamental parts of Planet of the Apes is that the films, the ape takeover is not the result of hubris, or by accident, it is explicitly a deliberate tragedy. It is stupid, but it is by no means foolish or an accident. It is deliberate.
You don't fall into nuclear war by accident. You don't stumble across total atomic annihilation. You knowingly and deliberately cause it. One has to first invent the atomic bomb. Then one has to make more. Hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands. You have to make the infrastructure to build and deliver them. You have to have the political will to keep them. None of this is by accident. It may be fired by accident, but for that to even be possible requires an awful and cruel and deliberate mindset to begin with. You can't point your car at someone, jump out at the last second, and claim the car killed them. One can't duct-tape a gun to someone's hand, tell them they have to shoot someone or else they'll die, and avoid all blame. Nuclear war is not pride, or arrogance, it is the homo sapiens' own inhumanity. It is the stupid and cruel desire to hit someone else with a rock. Taylor screaming at the end might be a funny meme, but when you watch the entire film, it's chilling. All you hear is this poor astronaut cursing the men who destroyed his civilization, as the waves crash against the shore. To say that nuclear war happens because we didn't know any better is just as bad as saying slavery happened because we didn't know any better.
The civil rights connections are another key piece missing from the puzzle. First of all, there are tons of references to it in the original franchise. In the first film, Taylor is sprayed with a fire hose, a sight that people in 1968 would've been seeing on the nightly news. He is denied the rights to a trial, his buddies are experimented on or stuffed and put on display in a museum, all things that people were becoming aware of. Lynch mobs, the Tuskegee Experiment, the thousands of bodies put on display in American museums without proper burial.
In the 1974 TV show, the first episode has a kid ask why they can't let the humans know about the spaceship. His father says, "because humans know their place! If they knew others could build a thing like this, it would ruin everything! They might think they're equal!" "But father, these humans are obviously better than we are--" The kid is smacked around, "Never say such a thing again!" You have people thinking about zero-sum equality now, still thinking that if someone gains equality, someone else loses it.
Something established in the book and the third movie is that the apes did not become sapient by accident. The humans knowingly and deliberately wanted slave labor, and so they altered the apes to create that labor. Conquest makes this explicit, with a black man showing sympathy for obvious reasons. There are obvious commentaries on human slave labor, and the resulting righteous anger. It is unrelated to the nuclear war, and it is not human arrogance or hubris that does it. It is the result of an inherently selfish desire.
The story is not that apes or humans are better, it is that treating people badly is wrong. We have always known slave labor is wrong. Slave revolts date back thousands of years. Spartacus was the Third Servile Rebellion. Yet people do it anyway. We know it is just as wrong as nuclear war. Oppenheimer cursed what he did. The first anti-nuclear war books came out in the late 40s and early 50s. Yet we still built thousands of bombs and people to this day expect there to be a winnable nuclear war.
So, the new movies decide to cut out all the civil rights aspects, and replace the nuclear war with a virus. Okay, do they try and replace it? No, not really. One can argue they are trying to say that apes are better than us, or that humans are better. And neither works.
Their "replacement" is insulting, and undermines the entire situation emotionally. The apes are accidentally created by something really selfless, an Alzheimer's cure, that accidentally spreads a plague. Everything is entirely by accident, and by stupidity. One might even go so far as to say it is racist, bigoted, and defends pro-colonizer sentiments. It depicts the entire situation as an accident, a buffoonish mess caused by people who were so stupid they didn't realize that coughing up blood on someone was bad.
I once had a professor say that the empires Europe built across the world were by accident. "Oh, whoops, we were just biting off a little territory at a time, we didn't mean to cause this!" He also asked who gets up in the morning to oppress people. This was wrong. The truth is that there are those who think it is their right. Europe knew exactly what they were doing while they conquered half the globe. This is what it feels like, like that professor wrote this. It removes all culpability from the humans, and blames science, rather than our own flaws. It insists that trying to cure a terrifying and ugly disease is wrong, and that we deserve to die for that. At the same time it insists that it was all an accident, no one is really to blame. You can't claim the apes are oppressed in the same way because they didn't know they were sapient! That is not only stupid, it undermines the entire concept of slavery within the story, that enslaving people is bad. Because slavery is not an accident. By making it all an accident, it makes it feel like it was written by the people in Get Out. It doesn't say that all slavery is by accident, it echoes the sentiments of its defenders.
By portraying the apes as seemingly better, it undermines the point. Taylor in the original says that "it seems some apes are more equal than others". For all their vaunted superiority over humanity, they are just as vulnerable to our same flaws. The point is that being cruel is bad.
Did I mention the guy running the company that made the Alzheimer's cure is black? And there are pretty much no other black actors in the new franchise, compared to the two named and heroic black characters in the original franchise. I know, I know, it's not great even by comparison. When a 70s series is beating you out for positive black representation, while you have none, that says a lot about your franchise.
You can't just swap out one disaster for another with a franchise that relies on the disaster being human made, and not accidental! The only acceptable alternative in this case would be deliberate germ warfare. The point of the original series is that we did this to ourselves. Nuclear weapons are bad, and they are not the result of a mistake, or an accident. Slavery is bad, and exploiting people deliberately is wrong.
Beneath the Planet of the Apes is the darkest ending in the entire franchise. An old doomsday bomb goes off, and wipes out Earth. We hear a narrator say "In one of the countless billions of galaxies in the universe lies a medium-sized star. And one of its satellites, a green and insignificant planet, is now dead."
The problem does not lie in humanity, or in apes. The problem lies in the concepts of war, cruelty, hatred, and selfishness.

Well that FNAF movie was, um.. not very good. Idk what I was expecting, but I was expecting a little more.
The production value was good overall, the music ruled and the animatronics were really well done. But Vanessa's dialogue and constant 'i am mysterious lady character, dun dun dun' deflections every other sentence made me wanna pull my hair out. Even though there was a reason behind her not intervening/warning Mike and his daughter about the springs, it really didn't come off like that, it just came off like she was an inept cop, like some random lady cosplaying as a cop instead. The movie was total garbage at showing any kind of genuine subtlety or ulterior motives, so everything just came off as the writers not being good at their jobs. The way the camera moved to Afton when he was a career counsellor also screamed 'i'm a villain twirling my moustache' and it was super corny.
And tbh, Josh Hutcherson wasn't on his a-game here lmao. There were scenes where we should have seen some kinda surprise or emotion, but legit ALL he could do was stare like a dead-eyed bass, and I was like cmon man.
Also, still super pissed that they totally RUINED the big payoff with the kids being the ghosts in the trailer, and the movie wasn't any better with revealing it, there was no real surprise or anything. And I'm just thinking, if someone didn't know the franchise, they would've just groaned like, 'i can see this coming a mile away'. Detective Pikachu wasn't that amazing either, but at least people who weren't into Pokemon didn't feel supremely ripped off like they saw the entire movie in the trailer. A lot of people I know didn't see the 'twist' in that movie coming. This one, it basically smacks you over the head with it and says 'enjoy, fool'.
Also, I can't remember which animatronic it was, but the person getting bitten in half was kinda unrealistic. It was way too fluid and smooth! Bitch be trying to get through bones and shit, human bodies come with a lot of resistance. There would be at least a lil bit of that, even for an animatronic with decent bite pressure.
The animatronic eyes didn't bother me as much as I expected them to, which I guess is another plus, but I'm still wondering if it would've been better with the creepy eyes. And some of the shots were good (Afton being dragged back into the closet oml?!), but it doesn't make up for the rest of the movie unfortunately. Except maybe the poor lawyer guy, he was amazing lol.
TLDR, it wasn't good. Probably worth a watch if you can see it for free.

When you literally see this in your feed and decide to watch a show in real-time for the first time in years just because of it and then find out it's the action/mystery/comedy/fantasy/fated couple show of your dreams. (yes, this is my second reblog for this --is that verboten?)
I didn't think I'd ever love anything as much as KP but this is a contender.
I legit didn't even watch the trailer first and didn't realize it, so I went in blind. I screamed with glee when I saw the Naga, y'all.

omfggggg paige I just saw that you watched scream 6!!!!! i’m really glad to hear that you liked it!!!! i really enjoyed it too (i’ve seen it twice now actually).
SLIGHT SPOILERS FOR SCREAM 6 NOW SO FOR ANYONE WHO HASNT SEEN IT YET KEEP SCROLLING:
I really liked the beginning and end scenes the most. At first I was like “Damn. That’s new” when I thought they just straight up revealed the new killer but it was even better tbh. That whole “Who gives a fuck about movies?!” line too was just soooo good. Perfectly delivered (as usual).
And I like Sam’s character even more now. I thought she was cool in Scream 5 and the whole “daughter of a serial killer” concept is interesting but what makes it better is her clearly being a bit.....“unhinged” as well, so to speak (honestly got chills when she was in the costume and they played the ghostface theme when she appeared behind Bailey). I also liked that this movie paralleled Scream 2 a bit (Scream 1 & 2 are my favorites but this one is close).
My only complaints were 1.) ethan being a killer. I felt it was too obvious....plus I like cute, dorky characters so I felt a little betrayed ngl. 2.) Ghostface definitely should’ve had the shotgun more. Cause let’s be real, ghostface coming at you with a knife isn’t actually THAT terrifying esp considering how is always easily beat up (Gale literally used a book to hit him at one point 😭). Ghostface with a shotgun though??? Pretty terrifying tbh. And finally 3.) I was salty that the only one from the “friend group” that died was (of course) the asian girl.....as a fellow asian girl it just made me a bit salty lmaoooo (the death scene itself though was very well done and brutal too).
And imo ghostface may not really be the “scariest” horror movie villain/killer/slasher, but to me he is definitely one of the most ICONIC.
So what was your favorite part of the movie, Paige?? 😅 Another fave scene of mine was Gale and Sam talking about “making your own family” and it kinda got to me when they played Dewey’s theme in the back 🥹😭
Anonymous asked: (same anon raving about scream 6 but) also I liked scream 5 and thought it was decent but tbh I liked the trailer more than the movie itself I think. However, for this movie I barely saw the trailers and even when I did I wasn’t entirely sure about this one, but this movie was really enjoyable for me (SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD)—even if there seemed to be less of a body count in regards to the main cast.
AHHHHHH HELLOOOOO YES IT WAS SOOOOOOO GOOD IM SO GLAD CAUSE I WASNT A FAN OF 5 but you legit said all my thoughts omg and I know I was so sad she died but god that death scene they def went all out jnhujfbhhj and no right ghos face with a gun is so scary esp in the world we live in rn I also loved them bringing kirby back tbh and gale kicking ass as usual but yeah one of them being ethan was lame imo like you said toooo obvious im sure there will be another one so im excited to see what will happen

Can we... CAN WE JUST BRIEFLY TALK ABOUT THE NEW INTERLUDE CHAPTER?! Because what the actual f***?!
[Genshin spoilers for 2.7 below the cut - you've been warned!]
That cutscene at the end had me both smiling and crying.
I was worried sick for Xiao and legit thought he would sacrifice himself and die. The fact he is so selfless and wants to save everyone just AAAH! When he fell and closed his eyes I legit lost it, but the moment I saw the orange glow I was screaming "ZHONGLI!!"
Zhongli just casually came around and saved his son (my god that made me love him even more and I didn't deem that possible) ;_;
The fact Xiao asked Zhongli to go as well... askjskaskja (Zhongli both did and didn't steal the show at the same time)
I want to give Xiao a hug, he is just so lonely and sad and lost all his friends. He deserves happiness, please 😭
_
Then fast forward to where we speak with Xiao alone and the Yaksha trailer plays and my god why do they all look so adorable! AND WHY ARE THEY ALL DEAD?
Just look at the Geo Yaksha in the back and tell me with a straight face he isn't handsome AF. I want to have him! And the pyro yaksha girl, too she is adorable, aaaah!
Also Bosacius drawing on Xiao's face while he sleeps and being a menace made me laugh (and I wanted to cry at the same time because Xiao will never experience that again). I want to bring them back for Xiao ;_;
_
All in all this might've been one of the best if not the best story quest in Genshin so far. I can't stop thinking about it and I rewatched the cutscene about 6 times already.
Also shoutout to Itto for being the life of the party, he was such a nice contrast to the dark tone of the quest and it yet again proves he is a big idiot with an even bigger heart. I love him, pls ;_;
(if you intend to send an ask about the story, I'll wait a while until I answer it because the patch isn't out for that long yet - also please mark it CLEARLY as a spoiler because I can't cut asks the way I cut this post.)
That's all from me for now (the new quest sparked some drabble ideas too... just need time to sit down to write now)
Here, also have a pic of a sleeping Xiao. Dust, out ♥

Thoughts on Wendell & Wild
There is a part of me that gets kinda scared about criticizing stop-motion animation.
Anytime I see a movie like Coraline, Nightmare before Christmas, BoxTrolls, Paranorman, Kubo and the Two Strings, Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Pinocchio, or anything like that, I always feel guilty if I don't end up liking it because you can always feel the crazy amount of hard work that goes into making these things come to life, into making this animation work, into making these characters move. You can always sense the passion, the effort, and the creativity.
I always feel like the world's biggest and most soulless villain if I don't love every single part of the final product of these types of productions.
That said... I don't think I liked this movie very much...
Kinda like Pinocchio, I don't think this is a bad movie by any means, but it is one that just didn't work for me, and much like that movie I feel like it's my fault for imagining something completely different from what I actually got.
When I first saw the trailer and the words "We all have demons... My demons have names!" I got crazy excited about all the possibilities of what this could mean.
Like, "Oh my God! A story about a girl dealing with the personification of her inner demons that are affecting her in the real world?? That sounds awesome!! The visuals you could do with that! The messages you could send! The personal character journey and internal struggle you could present!! The possibilities!!! What if they try to play around with it and make you question if the demons are really there or if it's all in her head? What are the sources of her demons? What are her fears and struggles?? Ugh! I can't wait to see this!!!"
...
And then I actually watched the movie and... Little by little my expectations went down the drain.
The big thing that just didn't work for me were the three main characters. I just could not get invested in Wendell, Wild, or Kat.
For starters, Wendell and Wild are not "her demons." They keep throwing these lines like "I have demons, these are my demons" and so on... But in reality, these two are just some dudes that just happened to meet with Kate, the main lead.
They have very boring designs for a pair of demons (you could have made them way uglier or scarier), very boring powers, they have next to no connection or interaction with Kat, and honestly... They don't really do anything interesting. They have this gel that can raise the dead, but that's it, and the most interesting characters that are revived aren't even revived by them. The freaking gel has more character and more plot relevance than these two.
And then there is Kat. She has a freaking sick design but... that's about it, she's not really interesting.
Her only two moods are angry or indifferent. Every scene she's either acting like she doesn't want to be here or like she's about to punch someone. Usually that would be really cool but the rest of the cast of characters is honestly so nice to her that it just makes me wonder why she is always so annoyed.
Her classmates, her nun teacher, her bus driver, her friend, I kept waiting for any of them to make fun of or discriminate her for whatever reason, but everyone is legit just trying to be her friend and help her fit in, so watching her always being "I hate all of you!" just makes her look like such a brat.
And I get the point that she's dealing with some personal problems over her parent's death and the bullying she received in the opening scene, but it feels like the movie is trying to glamorize her aggressive behavior instead of presenting it as an issue she needs to work on.
"Look at how cool and awesome Kat is as she walks down the hallway while carrying this giant audio player that's... Probably interrupting everyone's classes and distracting all the students but... Who cares! She looks badass!!!"
I also felt her reason to feel guilty was... Kinda silly. She feels bad because she screamed after seeing a worm on an apple and that led to a car crash. I'm not sure what the message is meant to be here... Don't feel bad for being afraid of a worm??
Why not just make it so she steals the apple behind her parents' back and later her mother finds out and that leads to a discussion that escalates and then that causes the car crash? It could show how even small actions of selfish misbehavior could lead to dire consequences and would make her guilt and self-blame hit a lot harder and thus make me sympathize more with why she's so, as she puts it, unable to forgive herself.
The one thing I absolutely loved (aside from the rest of the cast which is legit a good cast, I like these people a lot), was a scene somewhere around the middle of the movie where she does face her actual inner demons.
It reminded me a lot of the Aggie scene from Paranorman. They play around with visualizing her struggles and emotions, and they make her realize that she needs to confront them, and they make the struggles actually have a form and made me wonder why wasn't the movie more about this instead??
Why not make it so she's being haunted by this thing instead of those two guys who she has absolutely zero chemistry with? Although to be fair, she doesn't really have chemistry with any of the characters.
So... Yeah... Once again I'm being a jerk blaming a movie for not being what I wanted it to be instead of just trying to enjoy what it actually is... But, man! I just keep thinking of what this could have been.
One of my favorite scenes of all time in any movie is the Aggie fight in Paranorman. I love how the emotions, and visuals, and messages all come together to just create one beautiful perfect scene, and I thought this entire movie was going to be that. Which... Yeah, that's on me for creating something in my head instead of really looking at what's in front of me.
As for what's really in front of me... I think this movie is fine. The story was fine, the message was fine, the main characters were fine... The side characters were really cool and the visuals were really cool, but for the most part, I just felt it made for a fine final product.
I didn't really love it but I can't really say it did anything particularly awful, it just didn't do what I wish it had done.

Cleon in Infinite Darkness Ted-Talk
Don't mind me but I want to let this out to y'all.
I've seen the newest Infinite Darkness trailer 10000000 times ( well, duh, of course. I'm there for Cleon moments ) and yet I've realized these all just now. But y'all gotta bear with me because this post is gonna be looong. Like I mean, LONG.
Can y'all see his little smile when he says "Claire?"🥺
I think that speaks alone of how happy he is when Claire's there out of the blue. It's always nice whenever someone sees a familiar face in their work place. Especially if that familiar face doesn't work in the same place as him and that familiar face is someone he trusts a lot.
I'm sure Leon's expression here means they're comfortable with each other. At least they are. They trust each other and most importantly they support each other. I'm not saying they act like lovers but this could lead to something more than just ordinary friends. Best friend? Could be. Lovers? This also could happen and has lots of potentials since in RE2 REMAKE, he also flirts with her. And it's very obvious that Claire is also into him A LOT ( honestly, who doesn't? ). That fence scene is one helluva big hit, ahem 👀
Anyway, back to Infinite Darkness, I legit screamed that Capcom gives this subtle hint. Maybe I was blinded by my excitement the first time I saw the newest trailer so I didn't realize it. But yeah, homeboy actually smiles genuinely when he calls her name. His expression is like he can't believe she's really there in front of him. NOT TO MENTION HIS HEAD NOD WHEN HE SAYS HER NAME🥺
NGL, I thought I was tripping when I first saw it. I thought I was blinded by my Cleon obsession so my eyes tricked me🤣. I replayed the scene backward again and again and again (I didn't regret it ofc).
But yes, dear God, my eyes didn't trick me and this is real😭😭. I WAS SO FREAKING HAPPY YET I WAS SHOCKED. I had to pause the trailer to find the right moment to screen capture it.
Beside, c'mon y'all. When's the last time Leon smiles genuinely to a woman that's not Claire? Yeah he smiles to lots of women. BUT it's always a smirk or a teasing one. Never once a genuine smile. But not to Claire. He always genuinely smiles at her. In Re2Make, Darkside Chronicles, even in Degeneration.
Hell, Degeneration is full of Cleon moment even though they only share several scenes together. I'll talk about this in different post so keep your eyes on it!
Look at his left hand. LOOK AT IT.
I can assure y'all that this is not because of inertia ( one of physics law which makes our body move because of a sudden stop ). Leon is also not gonna grab the damn document in Claire's hand. That's not a gesture someone would make if that were the case.
I'm not sure but to me it feels like he wants to shake her hand? Or maybe hugging her or grab her shoulder? It looks like it because his arm stops mid-air as if he has another intention to her. Not just because he stops in front of her. It's such an awkward movement if there isn't any reason behind it. So, at least, there must be one. I could be wrong or I probably read it too much tho so I leave it to your own interpretation.
Homeboy wanna say something else
Homeboy with infinite hair wants a conversation 100%. IMO, Leon clearly wants to say something else to Claire but for whatever reason, he chooses not to. Dammit Leon. His body language and the way he doesn't break his eye contact with Claire says it all. There's this moment of silence before he says "don't do anything stupid" to her. And by looking at his expression, it's clear that he has something on his mind but decides to keep it to himself in the end. This is more emphasized by the way his mouth opens a little bit while he slightly leans to Claire. If y'all want more, his face after he tells Claire to not do something reckless clearly states that he actually wants to continue their convo but he has another obligation he needs to fulfill. His smiling face before he goes is like saying "Look, believe me I want to keep talking to you. But you know the drill and how it goes. I'm sorry, Claire. Gotta run. It's great seeing your face tho"
FURTHERMORE, the fact that he says "don't do anything stupid" to her speaks that he actually knows her well and how she is as a person. He knows what lengths Claire is willing to go to prevent another outbreak. He telling her not to be reckless means he cares about her. If he's not, he can just say "gotta go" to her and that's it. But no. He didn't do that even tho it's clear that he's in a rush.
Claire teases him and he smiles back at her
Believe me or not but if y'all see his face closely, he actually does respond to her by smiling before it cuts to "A Netflix Original Anime Series" text. Damn Capcom always gives us the subtle hints. And again, I didn't realize this at the first because it only plays for a brief moment.
Yup. Thank me later because I'm not done yet🤣
THIS
Can we talk that Leon practically jumps and runs on a collapsing bridge? Not to mention, there's a pool of acid below it. Homeboy really gives it all out.
I just love the fact that Capcom highlights this scene before it cuts to Resident Evil Infinite Darkness title text. Like it's something so dramatic.
Want something more?
This
AND FINALLY THIS
THESE SUBTLE HINTS ARE GOING TO SEND ME TO MY DEATH. CAPCOM DON'T FREAKING TEASE US LET THEM BE TOGETHER FOR PETE'S SAKE!
Anyway, reason why I ship both of them together is because their relationship is always based on trust. Leon is always sincere to Claire everytime they meet. And it seems like at the end of the day, Claire will always be the person he trusts no matter what. They have such a natural and healthy relationship. Claire never lies to him and has shown great concern to him several times in RE 2 REMAKE. On the other hand, Leon too has shown his concern of her in Degeneration. But let's continue that in other post.
I know this post is veryyy looooong. Please don't mind me because they're my otp for a very long goddamn time, dammit🤣
I lost count of it.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk✨

I legit almost screamed when I saw the animatronics for the first time in the trailer. It’s always so rare to see people get them so accurate, so I was over the moon! Sure, the eyes are a shock, but… there’s many different reasons that Blumhouse could’ve chosen to do it, and honestly? It’s not going to make a difference in the end. Plus, the pizzeria is dark as HELL.
I still can’t wrap my brain around the fact that we are ACTUALLY getting a Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, after so many years of waiting. Sure, the story might be told in a different way, but we’re going to see Michael and William Afton. ON THE BIG SCREEN. They’re not just gonna be pixels anymore.
I know I speak for everyone when I say this franchise was such a huge part of my childhood. I remember watching those goofy SFM videos, the Tony Crynight fnaf series, and listening to The Living Tombstone and other artists’ fan songs. And don’t forget the whole Vincent purple guy thing.
The whole series is just such a nostalgic thing for me. And to see my childhood on the big screen - that’s going to be something magical and surreal. I guess what I’m trying to say is thank you Scott for giving me and countless others this franchise that means so much to us. 🫶🏼
