Guys, guys, I usually, and for usually I mean never, do personal ramblings post because it feel to me like screaming into the void, but now the need has come, because The Legend of Vox Machina has my heart in a tight grip and it's not going to let me go for a long time, and I just need to ramble about S3 or I'm going to die.
Tumblr media
I just got into this fandom like three months ago and is been a wild ride from binging the whole two season to looking for fanart of my poor white hair blorbo to read a ton of fanfiction and even consider start writing again, to start watching the original D&D campaign (and I'm having a blast with that too) but since the trailer of S3 came out, I feel exciment... and fear...
Because, and I swear, that if Season 3 ends with Percy and Ripley final showdown and it ends like in the campaign (I got myself spoiled of that part, but it will still hurt like a mofo) AND THEN THEY LEAVE THE END OF THE FIGHT ON A CLIFFHANGER FOR SEASON 4...! I swear, I can't wait a year to have my poor Percy Mercy back.
Please, let me wrong on this one and don't let this rambling become a gift of prophecy from Apollo meme

Anyone else stress-sweating and crying over how Vex’s resurrection and Vax’s deal was portrayed?
Because that’s where I’m at right now.

This is exactly what I was hoping the plan would be!!!! One season leading up to Umbrasyl, then the next season for the rest of the dragons and Ripley
As per IMDB, here are the episode titles of The Legend of Vox Machina season 2.

I will never get over how good of a villain Delilah Briarwood is.
SPOLOERS
I love villains who become villains for the people they love, because it feels like such a good reason to be a villain

To the people of Tal’dorie, The Trials and Tribulations of Tarrington Darrington must seem like bad fan fiction. <Spoliers under the fold>
If we look at the adventures that Tarry was with Vox Machina, they are not “epic” adventures...meaning they don’t affect the world at large, so probably don’t get into the sagas told by bards. Plus, Sanland wasn’t there so he wouldn’t have written any tales of them.
The first real adventure Tarry was in was the Kraken fight. As part of Keyleth’s Aramente <sp?>, it is probably a very private thing so details aren’t really forthcoming. The death and resurrection of Vax with the appearance of the Raven Queen become part of Vax’s story, but the Kraken fight probably isn’t detailed in the sagas that are told. We know from Hazel’s recording that Tary made himself the hero of the story, so to people who have heard the rest of Vox Machina’s sagas which don’t mention a Tarrington Darrington it sounds like a self-insert fan fiction.
The next adventure was the Journey to Hell. Again, no Scanland to tell the tale and it is not something that affected the greater world, so it sounds like fan fiction, especially with everything that happened...the attempted kidnapping of Vax because he looked like an albino Tiefling, Percy’s deal with a devil, finding Tova the werebear and Trinket’s attraction to her, the tragic “death” of Doty in the flames of the devil, escaping the prison as bats, the chain golem...it seems too comical to be real.
Then they took a year off, where nothing really happens. After that, we have the Trickfoot’s which again was a private thing so wasn’t known outside the group. Then Tarry’s kidnapping and that adventure, none of which the people of Tal’dorie would have heard about.
Then Scanland returns and we have the reappearance of Delilah Briarwood, which Tarry was there for, but didn’t do much, so it would again sound like self-insert fan fiction. Then Tarry returns home and leave’s the story.
So to the people of Tal’dorie, once the book comes out, it reads like someone who heard the stories of Vox Machina and decided to write fiction based on their legend and self-insert into some of the known stories and make-up others where he is the hero.

SPOILERS for Campaign 3
Just how do you think the making of Laudna went just Marisha one day asked Matt
"You know most horrifying part of Campaign 1? Yeah I want my character to have been a part of it"

SPOILERS for campaign 3
The entire casts reaction a little before and mainly after the word palace when Laudna was talking about the briarwoods inviting her family, was so interesting just the slow "oh shit, seriously!?" reaction that was going through them and probably the people at home who didn't theorize her death.
Matt's slow smile as he watches the casts reaction lol
Also, do you think that Marisha got to describe the design in the show of one of the invited "guests" since now Laudna is technically canon in the LoVM?

Ramblings to the void, part 2.
Well, good news is that Vox Machina final show down with Ripley&Orthax is not going to be left to the season finale...
Bad news is that now I need to ramble about what is going to happen in episodes 7 to 9, and that means talking about spoilers from the campaing so for the ones interested in my theories, you are welcome.
Today is 15 of october 2024, and we are all anxious about what's going to happen to Percy, all the red flags were set for him, so is almost pretty sure Percy is going to die fighting Ripley.
For the ones that know the campaign or got spoiled by fanart/fanfictions (like me) know that Percy's death is one of the most shocking moments of the Vox Machina story, this can not NOT happen, but as I read in another post, Percy's death will mean something different that what it meant in the original campaign, so that means the events in the series will also be different.
As Liam O'brien say in the premiere of this season "the moments that hurt are going to hurt even more".
So here is my prediction... Percy is going to die, and he is going stay death.
Not permanently, of course 😅 pretty sure all the fandom would very upset with Matt Mercer if that happened.
What I think is going to happen is that Percy will die at the hands of Ripley, and when VM tries to ressurect him, the spell will fail, because his soul is going to taken away by Orthax, to his demon realm/whatever place Orthax inhabits.
VM will take Percy's body back to Whitestone and there's going to be a funeral, Grog is going to carry his coffin and everybody is going to be extremely sad, Vex will regret not telling how much she loves him, how she wanted a future and family with him, but her fear of losing him stopped her, and look, now she lost him and the regret hurts even more.
But here is where it lies the difference between the series and the campaign.
Campaign!Percy was not in a very good place mentally and emotionally, he and Vex barely acknowledged their feelings for each other, Percy still holds a deep guilt for Vex and Grog's death, I think Vax was still angry and hadn't forgiven him yet. Because of all this, Percy went to fight Ripley expecting to die, hence the goodbye letter he left for them, not even caring how they would dispose of his body.
And when VM attemps to ressurrect him after Keyleth defeats Orthax, he has to be convinced to come back. Taliesin confirmed that it was a 50/50 chance, that if it weren't for the sincere and moving words of the rest of the group, Percy would have been gone for good.
But Series!Percy is different, things are actually good for him. Before he knows about the attack to Whitestone, he is good and happy, he is with Vex, even if she still can't fully commit to their relationship, he and Vax made their peace and can be brothers again, he never gave Craven Edge to Grog and he didn't died because of it, they got one more vestige and defeated one more dragon, Percy has a family and a home. He has so much to look up for for his future and loved ones.
So, when his soul is taken away by Orthax, I don't think he's just to stay there and take it, Series!Percy is going to fight nail and tooth to come back, he's not going gentle into that good night, he will scream and kick and reach with all his being... And somebody is going to notice it.
My bet is on Vax and/or Vex (there's always been a strong bond between them), because of Vax connection to the Matron and death and Vex because of the power of love (cliche I know but you how it is lol), they are going to feel Percy's soul reaching for them, and that's how their fight againts Orthax starts.
Really hoping that it'll as spectacular as how it was when they fought Possessed!Percy.
And then, after Orthax is killed once and for all, Percy will be resurrected, and everybody, audience included, we are all going to cry of happiness that our white hair boy is back.
That's it, if Raishan doesn't kill all VM later lmao.
If you stick to my rambling, thank you so much, english is not my first language, so I'm sorry if some parts are painful to read lol but I really needed to get this out of my chest, is been so long since I was so invested in a story and characters, and this is the first time that I'm watching a series at the time that's being released, I'm always late to the fandoms that this is a novelty for me, like, I was seriously scared that Percy or Cass would die at the end of ep 6.
I and many more know this moment is coming, but it doesn't make it any less painful when it happens, and this shows how well writen is the story of The legend of Vox Machina.
