Lips twitching into a sad smile, Ozpin inclined his head and stepped forward to hold open the door for her. With luck, no one inside would recognize hers as the face on the news and they could lunch in complete obscurity. Goodness knows she deserved that, after all this.

Inside, the restaurant was a riot of color and hummed with a low but regular burble of conversation; a quiet word with the woman up front saw them escorted to a corner booth, tucked against a window affording a nice view across the street and the crystalline blue canal beyond. Ozpin flicked idly through the menu for a moment or two, carefully not looking at Lia, and then said lightly, "Did you hear that the Mistral Council has finally decided whom to appoint to replace Headmaster Greenwood?"

Small talk, never his strong suit. But it seemed like a safe enough subject, normal enough.

"Quite a relief, really. I understand the selection process became rather contentious."

"Don't worry I am too." Lia smiled. When was the last time she just went somewhere. Where less people looking at her? Maybe things could blow over after all.

"I'm ready to feel anything at this point." She sighed. Lia looked at the bright orange building, people where eating out on a patios just enjoy themselves. She looked froward to just being among them. To just be another person on the street.

Lia wanted to fade into the background. She always been more comfortable there. She often went unnoticed and she like that about herself. The fact she'd had so much attention in the last six months had been far too much for her.

My Ashlynn Ella headcanons

making this bc shes been my fav character in eah since like 2013 tehe

Ashlynn is autistic and one of her special interests are shoes and nature, as she has such strong feelings about caring for it and the environment in general.

I can also vouch for this as sometimes her dialogue consists of nature and her love for shoes, as an autistic person I know that we like to talk about our special interests a lot.

Ashlynn's love of shoes also comes from learning the story of Cinderella from her mother.

Ashlynn and her mother would bond over fashion and shoes when she was young, Ashlynn would also steal her mother high heels and always get them dirty by going out into the woods.

Ashlynn and her father aren't that close, he has a kingdom to run and doesn't care for animals or chores or shoes or anything Ashlynn finds interesting. He can often treat Ashlynn like a push over and tries to buy her love with money rather than spend time with her.

One of the reasons Ashlynn didn't want to marry a prince because of how they acted, entitled and royal, that is because of her father and how he treats the things Ashlynn and her mother care about. Instead Ashlynn wanted someone who shared her values and interests.

Ashlynn can communicate with animals and sometimes finds it easier to talk to them about her struggles instead of her friends, this would be more prominent in s1 when Ashlynn and Hunter's relationship was a secret. She would explain a date in detail to her pet Phoenix because she couldn’t tell anyone else.

She feels like she can be completely herself around animals, they don't hold judgement or resentment the way humans do.

Ashlynn always supported Briar's decision to not sign the storybook of legends as Ashlynn always hated the idea of losing Briar to her destiny.

Ashlynn has boundary issues and is a major push over, she has a hard time saying no to people and will put others needs before her own whether she likes it or not. This also ties into her Cinderella destiny as the step family in it constantly give Cindy orders that she complies too.

Certain people can see this clearly and will either help her through them (Briar, Apple, Crystel, Farrah, Hunter, basically anyone close to her)

or use them against her (Her future step sisters)

Ashlynn always makes sure any shoes sold at her shop are made from materials that did not come from animals. And sometimes the money she earns at the shop she gives to charity.

Her dream destiny is become an environmentalist and help the environment instead of becoming a princess, but she doesn’t like to admit it out loud because she’s afraid to pursue it as she feels she’ll be letting down everyone, her mother, Farrah and whoever her destined prince is.

She feels guilt very deeply, she felt guilty about lying to her friends about her relationship, she felt guilty for not wanting the amazing destiny she was determined to have.

Ashlynn is also a Tailer Quick fan and her favourite album is fearless.

The enchanted forest is her favourite place in ever after.

She adores ice skating and dancing with headphones because it lets her imagination run free and it exercises her energy.

She stims a lot but fidgeting with her hands, she needs something to do with her hands in order to focus. (Hunter once noticed this and asked her to make a flower crown for Pesky)

She’s terrible at making decisions under pressure and over thinks a lot. She gets her fashion design inspiration from the nature around her.

Ashlynn and Duchess aren't exactly friends but Ashlynn does feel bad for her, Duchess made her realise that she was taking her own destiny for granted when hers has a happily ever after and Duchess's story doesn't.

Ashlynn knows that if Duchess were to apologize for trying to expose her and Hunter. Ashlynn would forgive her.

Apple, Briar and her have been best friends since they were children, they are all very loyal to each other.

Ashlynn is a very private person so she doesn't like to be open about a lot of things about herself unless she's comfortable with someone. (most of the time its usually with animals)

Ashlynn is a light sleeper so when Briar snores sometimes, Ashlynn has ear plugs to help her sleep.

Ashlynn always gets early, she's a huge morning person and loves a walk in the sunrise.

Ashlynn and Raven became very good friends after legacy day, Ashlynn will never forget the hope she got after Raven didn't sign the book.

They definitely bond over being Tailer Quick fans.

Ashlynn and Cerise become friends after her and Hunters relationship is out. Ashlynn greatly respects Cerise and wanted to get to know her as she’s one of Hunters close friends.

After Cedar found out about Ashlynn and Hunter. Cedar became Ashlynn’s go to person to talk about the relationship (as we see in true hearts day)

Ashlynn dreads the day her mother will die and that she’ll only be left with her father.

While away at Ever After High, Ashlynn calls her mom very frequently, more so in legacy year because it felt all more real for Ashlynn that her mothers death was coming soon.

thank you very much for the ask, anon! it turned out that questions 1 and 2 sent me a bit feral, so they're queued up in a separate post... allowing this one to focus on the unhinged and deranged potential of ronius.

which - i'll be honest - is not quite as unhinged and deranged as one might think...

although my answer about it as a pure crackship would be influenced by a headcanon i remain committed to purely for my own amusement that harry is the only person who believes sirius to be unfathomably good-looking pre-azkaban [the girl in the defence against the dark arts exam was actually checking out lily! harry saw what he wanted to see!] and still retaining vestiges of these magnificent looks after it.

i like the idea of ron - canonically a real hottie himself - not being entirely sure what all the fuss is about, not least because sirius hasn't seen a dentist in fifteen years. harry's sighing every night about how lucky ron is while everyone else pats sirius on the back for bagging himself a tall and sporty legend with great hair, a chill personality, and a fourteen-inch wand.

but my more serious response to this ship would be that it joins the pile - with snon and ronmort - which are made plausible by the fact that ron is, at heart, someone who cares.

in goblet of fire, harry, ron, and hermione all have broadly similar views of sirius - that he's a clever, sensible adult who can be trusted to help them with the mystery they find themselves in. ron is reassured that harry tells sirius about his scar hurting, for example, because he thinks it's a given that sirius will know what to do about it - and he believes that any information sirius gives harry throughout this book is completely above reproach.

ron also clearly thinks that sirius is cool - him trying to get sirius to agree with him that hermione's passion for house elf rights is ridiculous very much has the vibe of him wanting sirius to acknowledge him as a sophisticated man-of-the-world; which him being pissed-off when sirius suggests the trio are too young to understand what things were like in the first war also illustrates.

[which i think sirius respects him for - he obviously admires a bit of bolshiness, and he also obviously adores the loyalty ron and hermione have for harry.]

and so i think that you can absolutely imagine ron developing a little crush on sirius - to go with his broader bisexual awakening over viktor krum - during his fourth year.

more interestingly, though, is that the trio's view of sirius diverges in order of the phoenix.

in harry's case, there is a reversal of the reasonably uncomplicated parent-child dynamic of goblet of fire, as sirius' depression - as well as the regression he feels from being stuck in his childhood home - robs him of the capacity to provide harry with the paternal emotional support he needs. instead, harry ends up being the one taking the adult role in their relationship - viewing it as his responsibility to be the sensible one in order to keep sirius safe.

hermione notices this role-reversal, but her view is broadly that sirius would be able to restrain his emotional instability if he simply tried hard enough. she's the one of the three who thinks that sirius' grimmauld-place-induced regression is accompanied by a desire to relive his glory days with harry standing in for james - and while both she and harry find sirius' more reckless behaviour [such as his suggestion that he might come to hogsmeade to see them] frightening, hermione evidently regards it as reckless arrogance, while harry sees it as reckless desperation.

ron - on the other hand - approaches order-era sirius not from the adult position in an adult-child dynamic, but as a peer.

he's the member of the trio who best understands the impact feeling useless to the war effort, lonely, and trapped has on sirius, without adding the qualification that he should be an adult and deal with it [which has the negative result that he's easily convinced that harry's vision of sirius in the department of mysteries is real, because he thinks it's completely plausible that sirius would have left the house and been captured].

he has no time for the idea that sirius views harry as indistinguishable from james, or that sirius is deliberately or childishly reckless. he's the only one of the three to give sirius the credit of listening to dumbledore and working to keep himself and harry safe - even if he doesn't like what he has to endure in order to do this. he treats sirius as someone who deserves to not be condescended to and to be acknowledged as having authority in his own house - for example, when he tells hermione that she needs to respect sirius' justification for why kreacher can't be manumitted when he thinks she intends to give him clothes for christmas [that hermione is completely right that slaves should be freed is by-the-by here].

he also understands harry's grief over sirius' death - and what sirius meant to harry - far more instinctively than hermione. but he's also the only one of the trio who really gets how sirius was understood by the order more widely - for example, he's the only one of the three who correctly points out that tonks didn't actually know sirius well enough for the intensity of grief harry and hermione are ascribing to her to be plausible. while harry - completely understandably - sees sirius as so important in his own life that he can't help but imagine him as the central figure in the life of everyone he encounters [which is unrelatedly interesting in that it's how each of the three marauders saw james], ron has a more pragmatic, big-picture view of him as a man. a good man - absolutely - and a fun and clever and admirable one, but still a man like any other.

ron understanding sirius - but not idolising him - creates a pretty strong potential for a relationship between them in a world in which sirius survives into the trio's adulthoods. this is especially the case when this understanding is combined with the fact that ron is shown - throughout the series - to be very good at providing comfort.

sirius survives azkaban and his time on the run through sheer, desperate resilience - but, as his collapse when he's back at grimmauld place shows, this resilience can't keep his demons at bay when he's not just fighting, at the most basic level, to stay alive.

if he survives the war, then he - like his narrative mirror, snape - is going to find himself feeling terrified and unmoored and completely unsure about who he is and what he'll do in a world in which voldemort is dead - and i suspect that his self-destruction would be extraordinary.

ron - alone of the trio - has the capacity to understand how sirius would end up in a place where "all was well" is more frightening to him than the potential of dying any minute. and he also has the capacity to provide an anchoring force through cups of tea and chit-chat which makes sirius think it might be possible to survive the day... and then the week... and then the month - which can then transition into him having the capacity to understand the big questions of guilt and grief and love and loyalty which define sirius' adult life.

so yes. i back it entirely.

Over the years, many people have cried foul of Phoenix's disarmament and the extremely questionable situation it was based on and I agree it was a bit shaky so I would like to present a headcanon that may provide a decent explanation and one of my trademarks too

Think about how Kristoph Gavin was on the bar association despite being extremely corrupt and consider that this may apply to some of the other members, now also consider that Phoenix Wright has sent legends like Manfred Von Karma and Damon Gant behind bars on top of many other achievements.

For better or for worse, the man was a large threat to and a larger target of any corrupt member of the legal system if they do happened to end up on his path.

So consider that there is an opportunity to have him stripped of any of that power, it was the Bar Association's call after all and while their better judgement should've been to be more lenient on him, it's the perfect opportunity to get rid of someone they don't like

Some Weird Doctor Death/Phoenix Witch related headcanons

He’s called Doctor Death Defying for a reason, he survived the helium wars and he continues to survive in the zones despite being a disabled veteran and staying mostly out of the fight. They say he has a deal with the witch, that he’s actually been ghosted many times but just keeps returning.

-He doesn’t actually have a deal with the witch, she’s just an old friend. There wasn’t a Phoenix Witch until the zones came to be and the Helium Wars were fought. There was a woman that Doctor D fought with that was one of the first killjoys to die and she was so brave and passionate and when she died and found her spirit haunting the battlefield she decided to become a guide to those that followed her. During the wars she became a battlefield ghost story from soldiers that nearly died and swore they saw this diety. She became known as Mother War and when the wars ended that story was forgotten and as the younger generation took up the fight and started seeing her she became known as the Phoenix Witch.

-He alone can talk to her, that’s how he always knows the bad news as soon as it happens, how he can broadcast the traffic and say what killjoys have been ghosted moments after it happens.

-He’s a bit of a cryptid or urban legend because lots of joys, especially the younger ones, think he’s a ghost or spirit haunting the airwaves because they’ve never met or seen him before, only heard him. He’s talked about in a similar air to when people talk about the Phoenix Witch, like he’s something mysterious and unknown or out of their ability of understanding. Doctor D thinks his ghostly status is hilarious, especially whenever Cherri complains about joys not believing that he knows him

-If you tune to the AM radio there’s no stations except for a scratchy weather station from Battery City, but there are strange noises in the static and if you drive around the zones the noises turn into whispers as you seemingly get closer to the broadcasting source. The whispers are said to be the radios picking up the Witch as she talks to ghosted killjoys and guides them on their way. But if you follow the sounds to the place where the whispers are clearest, loud enough over the static to sometimes make out words and piece together conversations, you’ll find that you’re outside Doctor Death’s radio station.

-When he really does die and Cherri takes over the radio, he announces a “Doctor D’s Ghost Hour” just like how Doctor D once announced Cherri Colas Poetry Corner and let him take over the radio for a little while. Everyone expects it to be an hour of silence, maybe as a memorial, or maybe it’s an hour of telling stories about him. When Doctor D’s voice actually comes on, however, people think Cherris playing old recorded tapes of him. But he’s not, it’s exactly what it’s titled as.

Think of this

Marco knew he was going to die. He wasn’t scared but as he lay there in his bed he thinks back to all he loved, all he lost, and all he still has and in that moment he knows he can finally rest. The island is safe, he made sure. Everyone he could protect is okay. And as he closes his eyes for the last time he knows his work is done.

He can’t wait to see you, pops, thatch, ace and all the others again and he slips away with a smile on his face. He is later buried right next to you. Forever resting.

The legend of the phoenix is put to rest but never forgotten. Waiting for the next one to emerge from the flames and the story to repeat.

Yeah, even going because of a broken heart, I imagine the end was peaceful for him.

I love the headcanon of "can't die" for Marco - I've seen things of him and Brook both kind of stuck with an immortal existence after the end of everything - with no major war or conflict left to threaten them, they just keep going on.

Sadly it doesn't work for Marco because of the parameters we have canonically about devil fruits, they're just not that level of powerful. And Brook isn't indestructible. I have to imagine he'd be able to take enough damage that his soul couldn't keep connected to what's left of his body.

I also think he could just... let go, when he was ready. He's OLD old, and frankly once he's tied off the last few regrets in his life, there's nothing really left to keep him there.

Still though, there's a bitter-sweetness to it all that certainly makes the heart ache. In a good way though, I think.

A strange sparkling feather only heard of in the myths of the rainbow pheonix.

It is said this feather is only given to those the phoenix sees as a worthy fighting partner.

It is often depicted as proof of a hero with a pure heart. Some stories claim that a ray of sun shining on the feather will summon a rainbow from the sky. ---

The Healing Wing

A strange green feather thought to have been shed by the rainbow phoenix.

The feather seems to have some soothing properties, being calming and relaxing to the holder.

It is thought that a hero of the rainbow phoenix used a feather like this to come back to life and heal their pains. ---

The Lucky Wing

A naturally curly, iridescent feather thought to be from the head of the rainbow pheonix.

People or pokemon in possession of this feather seem to be less likely to accidentally find themselves in danger. ---

The Flame Wing

A fiery colored feather with naturally occuring segments, which is thought to have fallen off of the rainbow phoenix.

Surprisingly, this warm colored feather gives the holder a chilly feeling, as if trying to cool them.

It is mentioned in myths that the phoenix's hero could gain a temporary immunity to fire by setting it ablaze.

The Silver Wing

A shimmering feather that is well known in the legends of a dragon of storms. It is said that those given the feather are seen as a worthy ally by the dragon.

Heroes of the storm bringer who have this feather are thought to have souls of silver.

It shines a beautiful glow under the light of the moon. ---

The Guiding Wing

An interesting feather with a faint glow that is believed to have fallen off the dragon of storms.

The holder tends to have a feeling of being pulled somewhere, seemingly in the direction of the nearest shore.

Stories claim the stars will shine through the clouds when the storm bringer's hero holds the feather to the sky. ---

The Ocean Wing

An odd blue feather that looks to be growing into two. It is said to have come from the dragon of storms.

Despite stories claiming the bringer of storms lives in the cold depths of the sea, this feather seems to keep the holder warm.

A myth once told of a hero for the dragon who could breath underwater for a time by breaking the feather in two. ---

The Storm Wing

A large and bright white feather, said to be from the wings of the dragon of storms.

Myths say that captains who happened upon this feather found an easier time guiding their crews through massive hurricanes. --------------------------------------------

I wasn’t sure about this at first because it felt like it took something from Wild’s interactions with the group, when really it’s a skill set. Wild can cook a large amount of flavorful food, where others could only manage a few dishes.

Ie Warriors can make food for an army, it’s filling but not very flavorful, and kinda tasteless actually.

Ie Twilight can cook for himself, but he can only manage a few simple dishes, and not nearly enough for 8-9 people.

Ie Legend can’t cook, but he can bake really well.

It’s added a layer of interaction that wasn’t there before, without necessarily taking anything away.

@midgarwhispers | amazing plots, mature & down to earth discussion, incredible writing, interesting muse, great GREAT dynamics, lovely ooc chat. i have so much admiration for this sweet lil carbuncle ( i say lil, she a giant ) - i've just had so many fun discussions and plots this year with her & ooc-wise, i cannot stress how kind & lovely she is. i just - urgh - 10/10 - massively recommend.

@stingslikeabee | when wont i waffle on about mari and how much i love her? you want mature, well-written content? you want an interesting oc who can squeeze into any kind of universe? you want a down-to-earth, interesting & intelligent mun with whom you can chatter everything from adult chat to films & culture? mari's a legend. i will forever simp.

@cloudvii | anything sayj touches turns to gold, honestly. not to say cloud wasn't already gold but - look - i admire sayj's passion and interest in their muses. their headcanons are in depth and powerful, but they're never without reason. like - they always make sense & make you do a double take and a little 'ahhhh!' when you read them because they're so interesting & in tune with the character. i just really adore what sayj does with the characters that they pick up. and their respect / appreciation for og? *mwah*.

@phoenix-flamed | hot damn, vonny. where do i even begin? i didn't follow vonny until fairly recently-ish. i jumped on them on my sylv blog and was barely there so HAD to grab em with heid and i just- the rpc should consider itself blessed to have such a wonderful write & a wonderful person in their midst. vonny's elwin is so incredibly weaved that i would read a book about him written by them; i always admire someone who picks up a side-character but someone who then gives that side character a well-crafted story, interesting headcanons and pushes it all with infectious enthusiasm and passion? sign me the F up. like, GODDAMN. and as a person? vonny is so incredibly sweet, someone i'd love to bug more honestly because wow. & on a personal note, someone who did something recently for me that really helped me in a great & personal way. i just - <3 - so much love and respect in my soul for this one.

@svnsworn | light is somebody who if you say to me 'recommend a user', im gonna recommend her. she jumps to the forefront of my mind like a lil froggy. i always mess up when trying to run multis but she makes it look EASY. the AMOUNT of times that light has told me a headcanon about a character and i've gone 'holy shit! of course!' she has that knack for spotting those details, and then expanding on them. and no matter who she chooses - from leon to luna - she injects this love & insight into them that they truly deserve. she's really incredible and there isn't a day i wouldn't recommend her. and as a person? light is always lovely. like, alwAYS.
