Good afternoon my lovelies <3 I hope you've all been well!

Can you guess what's the ache and what's (who's) the pain? :D

I'm being a little unfair, everyone is tense and on edge in a situation none of them were really as ready to face right now as any of them thought they were, but there are still aches worth examining and pains worth working through and figuring out how to soothe.

What would the Dairy Islands be without their Dairy Sea?

So I am beyond excited to share with you the animal helping to keep it clean and pure:

You know em, you love em: the Milky Manta Ray!

Honestly, I am beyond happy with them! There was no question, i had to draw the animal a major character was referencing.

It was a big struggle until my twin suggested using the drink Grant made in Dirty Laundry once, the Queen's Punch, for inspiration and that opened my third eye!

They swim in their favoured territory, where another body of "water" meets the Dairy Sea and filter the milk, feeding on those nutrients in the process. This gives each Manta Ray a distinct colouration. Once the liquid has passed through their bodies enough to have returned to pure milk it is then released through the ends of their wings, fins and tail.

Got enough milk?

The beauty of emotional disregulation combined with a consuming weakness for pointedly balanced fictional gentle giants is that I can look at whatever canon content there may be of the absolute chonkiest of could-snap-you-like-a-twig beasts being more tender than seitan chicken strips and almost implode on an internal "he is sO GENTLE! "

He was one of the main instigators of three separate massacres (or one massacre, an unprovoked war, and then another massacre, depending on how you slice it). Then he and his brother kidnapped two kids. Then he killed some guards in order to steal the treasure they were guarding (which arguably rightfully belonged to him, but the treasure itself didn't seem to think so? It's complicated. So maybe theft, definitely murder. SO much murder.)

HE TRIPPED ME SEVERAL TIMES, THREW BOMBS AT ME, AND THEN LITERAL AIR STRIKES. I WAS JUST TRYING TO GO ABOUT MY DAY AND HE FREAKING ATTACKED ME. AND THEN HIS TEAM SENT ME TO SPACE.

The Rescue - Chp 53 - Still Dealing With The Sting

The newest chapter of The Rescue is now live! Christmas and the Holiday season being what it is, I haven't had a ton of time (though, mostly energy has been the problem) to write, but I should still have something to go up in two weeks for you all :)

I hope you all have a lovely day and wonderful weekend! If I can get my ass up on time I'm thinking I'll catch The Boy and The Heron today as a step in helping me wind down a little. Honestly really excited to see it.

Cat update: he has seen the vet! Getting him into his carrier may have involved begging, pleading and crying actual tears on my part, but the less said about that the better.

They couldn't find any obvious blockage, so they think it's probably just an upset tummy. They offered to keep him in and do blood work while he recovers, but he did manage to keep down some breakfast this morning, so they said it would be equally fine to give him anti-emetic medicine and monitor him at home for a day.

He is now sat with my brother, whom he normally won't share a room with, to make the point about how deeply I've betrayed his trust.

I caught myself looking like 😑 again at the grocery store today and I feel so awkward. I don’t want to come off as an asshole to anyone working there (it must suck as a job, especially during summer tourist season) but my face is just like this! I think it would be really funny if I got a custom t-shirt one day that just said “sorry, it’s (probably) not you. My face is just like this” with the 😑 emoji under it

how much do you think that adam is up for hanging out with other people? in your opinion. what do you think his ideals are in friendships or relationships in general? etc?

i will not lie his ass is so cringefail loser when it comes to basic interactions, esp during the fic’s chapters 4-5… mainly because he is just dead silent 80% of the time. he asked for no pickles but eventually he does get better.

going a lil off the rails, i do definitely think he values not only how he is seen by others but also how he sees himself (as I say, writing him lol). due to *uhhhhh. the horrors* he is consistently altering things about himself in order to build this completely different self, a self more confident and powerful and in his eyes “suitable” to be deserving of the basic decency of. well, honestly anything. feeling it is something that requires him to prove himself in every moment he can. hell adam does this probably the most with sienna, who in the fic is easily the one character he trusts the most (for the good while, she’s the only one who knows what his face looks like.)

but even still he can never be “genuine”. never be honest to anyone out of fear it will hurt him again. my little fucking loser.

but i also. idk. i’ve been giving him like silly big bro vibes and it’s kind of stuck.
