I keep thinking about how mtefil talks about disabled people. I'm so bad at names but the children born from demons and humans in the Belzebub arc always makes me so emotional.

goddddd i think about it so much. luka’s story especially is so haunting and well-done imo. again as i’ve said before i really love how bel was such an attentive and present parent bc of how easily it would’ve been to portray sloth as detached and a bad parent. but he’s Such a good father to luka. their relationship just feels like a very good depiction of a disabled child and their parent. i can’t really think of a lot of instances of a largely non-verbal character being portrayed in such a normal light, especially in a narrative where the story doesn’t revolve around disability itself

it’s not that luka can’t communicate, and bel knows that! luka can’t really speak, but he still communicates in his own way, and the little we see makes it obvious that bel has taken the time and effort to learn luka’s tells and really understand him. and it’s a theme shown earlier too w imuri and golem during the gluttony arc—priest and beelzebub both see golem as less then human, as unable to think for himself, but irumi stands up for him and treats him like his own capable person. because he was! and so was luka! idk i have so many thoughts and so many are hard to put into words but tldr mtefil continues to blow it out of the park

Maru

Is a registered nurse, but is working to become a medicinal and environmental researcher like her father (Professor Demetrius).

Robotics, Electrical engineering and Astronomy are just a few of her hobbies and passions. 

Afraid of getting real piercings, so Sebastian gifted her clip-ons.

Doesn’t trust newer computers, unlike her brother.

She is nearsighted and has astigmatism.

She goes stargazing in hopes of finding signs of extraterrestrial life. Or just to see if she can spot a certain flying robot.

Used to follow her brother Sebastian around a lot when she was very young, but his troublemaking behavior made Maru distance herself. She still cares about him.

Loves helping the farmer with building farming machines.

Loves spending time with her best friend Penny and talking about books and trivia together.

Other than tinkering with gadgets, she also enjoys doing puzzles.

Penny

Could not afford finishing her teaching course in college due to financial troubles.

Saving up money in her tutoring job to become an elementary school teacher.

Her father abandoned them due to feeling ‘trapped’. It happened around fall—so she feels melancholic during that season.

Likes cooking but is a novice at it.

Sleeps very messily. Ends up in weird positions on the bed, with pillows dropped onto the floor.

Loves exploring the mines and wants to join the Adventurer's guild in the future.

Has a long deep scar on his left leg due to a rock crab.

The town go-to mechanic, alongside Maru.

He’s jealous of Maru, but doesn’t hate her. Doesn’t know how to express himself, so they end up fighting. He thinks he’s not the best older brother to have.

I know I only post art here but for future reference here are some Stardew Valley headcanons:

Sebastian and Maru actually have a good relationship because their parents shortcomings aren't their shortcomings, in fact Maru looks up to Seby a lot because he's an introvert like her but managed to have a tight friend group

Leah and Haley get lost in conversations about lighting and composition. When Leah arrived in town they didn't care for each other at first but ended up bonding over their artsy interests. Haley lets Leah use her dark room to do experiments, and secretly thinks she's effortlessly very cool

Maru doesn't really hang out with the others but Abigail saw her out of her nurse attire while visiting Sebastian and started being interested in her. Maru also noticed her and contrary to popular belief she's the one who started flirting first

Elliott loves to surprise Leah with stunning vegetarian charcuterie boards, they actually plan little pic nic dates around it, she brings the wine and they spend the evening on the lake dock

Harvey and Emily kind of fuss over Shane and his wellbeing, and he pretends to hate it but he's secretly very grateful for their friendship and sometimes feels like they (and the farmer lol) are the only people who didn't give up on him. Emily in particular likes to make dark jokes about his situation and she's the only one who gets the pass from Shane for it.

Sebastian spent years pining HARD after Sam and at some point he thought he was just envious of how easily he bonded with people and was liked by everyone.

Sam is very physical, he gives the biggest hugs to everyone but he specifically loves to push Sebastian's buttons to the limit. Actually, Sam has a hidden kind of sadistic side to him when it comes to sabotaging Lewis' plans and flustering Seby.

Penny is NOT a girl's girl, but she kind of gets dragged along to plans with the gals because ohana means family and not even the Pick Me© girl gets left behind

Emily managed to make Harvey try *magic* mushrooms once. He enjoyed the experience despite having tremendous anxiety about the whole thing, he found it scientifically interesting. He wouldn't do it again tho

Alex was so sure he had the biggest crush on Haley for all his teen years but in reality he just admired her femininity and her style. Haley didn't reciprocate but liked the attention because he actually never made a move towards her, so they had this comfortable situation that fit society standards. They started having an honest friendship only after Alex's coming out

Emily is the biggest fan of the Goblin Destroyers and she offers to sew special merch for them. Sam, Seb and Abby are so grateful for her support

-had a pet hermit crab as a kid, he's always been a friend of the crabs!

- prefers fancy, decorative candles to scented ones. The prettier the better!

- trying his best to make his room look like Howls from Howls Moving Castle. That clutter of beautiful trinkets is exactly what he wants for a setup

- loves wearing his hair in braids, but is terrible at doing braids on himself. He usually asks Leah

- Willy is like a father to him. His bio father was not a kind man, and Willy is everything he wished his father could be and more

- Willy taught him how to fish too, and he's actually pretty good at it!

- very into a "method acting" style of writing, as in he'll live like a character he's trying to write for a while until he feels like he can realistically interpret them in his writing

- faked a British accent for about a month in middle school because he thought it sounded very sophisticated and artsy

Harvey

- won't tell anyone, but he enjoys little Saturday morning cartoons now and then. It reminds him of the moments of joy he felt when he was little and he cherishes that

- tried to shave off his mustache once and seeing how he looked without it scared him so bad he vowed not to do it again. It looks so bad 😭💔

- wears that Ebenezer scrooge lookin nightgown and cap unironically, swears that it helps him sleep better

- lactose intolerant and has a gluten allergy. He doesn't like cheese and baked goods because of it, they make him really sick

- that being said, if u made/bought him gluten free stuff he would act like he owes his life to you

- once he was at the library at the same time Penny was tutoring the kids. It was during free reading time and Vincent told him he looked like a character in the book he was reading. It was Geronimo Stilton. Harvey has still not recovered from that

- really wanted siblings as a little kid but never had them, so he created an imaginary friend for himself and pretended to go on aviation missions with them

- has a lil gap between his front teeth, he gets a bit shy about it, but it's cute when he smiles and you can see it

Shane

- I changed my height headcanon, bro is 5'3 now

- his ENTIRE family is very short, his mom and Marnie are 5'0. Jas' parents were tall though so once she's older she's absolutely towering over Marnie and Shane

- had very long hair before taking in Jas. For many reasons, especially maintenance, he's kept it short since adopting her

- Him stealing food from Joja is a habit built from necessity, from the time before he moved back in with Marnie. He got to the point financially that he was often stealing food for him and Jas, because he was often forced to choose between groceries and paying rent.

- he's not a vegetarian, but he refuses to eat chicken specifically. Everytime he tries, he just can't bring himself to do it. He loves chickens too much

- even then, he still ate very little. Stealing was risky and he wanted to make sure Jas was given what she needed first. He always had her eat first, and would eat whatever she didn't, like crusts or veggies she didn't like. The night he moved back in with Marnie was the first time he had an actual meal in about a year

- After he starts recovery, he tries to be better friends with Penny given that she's Jas' teacher. She isn't very interested in being close with him, but he still tries to be friendly

- has an arsenal of dad jokes at the ready at any given moment, you are not prepared for how corny this man gets

- forever salty that LEWIS of all people is beating him on the junimo kart leaderboards

- He and Sam have a workplace besties kinda relationship. They still stay pretty good friends after Joja closes, Shane goes to all of his bands shows to show support

- the only festivals he really cares about are the egg festival, luau and Stardew valley fair. The rest he'll go to because it makes Jas and Marnie happy, but those three he has a passion for

Stefan reaction to finding out his Mate is a male human Pt2

Bella did not appreciate your sarcasm "say something to him" Bella leaned against the piano with crossed arms. Leah was stubborn to leave the room. Seth persuades her to give you two alone time to address the situation.

"Bella, he doesn't want anything to do with me" Bella shook her head and points at you. "You have to make the first move, don't have to say anything fancy" you groan and rub your temple.

"What would you do if you were in my shoes" Bella doesn't say anything, instead she slowly closes the distance. "He is scared and so are you. Do something or else you'll regret it" you wished Esme was here and not Bella.

At least Esme makes you feel confident to say or do something instead Bella makes you feel uncertain. She was never good at hiding her expression.

"I don't care if he is upset or delighted. It is not my job to keep him from tearing someone's head off". Bella couldn't take your defensive behavior or your disagreement any longer. "Say something to him or whatever. He is your mate not mine" she leaves without a second glance.

You pace back and forth worried, he wants nothing to do with you. The pull of a rope tightens every time you deny each other closure. What were you expecting, Bella chose to become a Vampire to spend her eternity with Edward.

"You must be aggravated too" his voice, familiar and yet it feels as if a stranger speaks every time he opens his mouth. "Not as aggravated as you" Stefan watches you come to a halt.

"You are worse compared to my former partners" Stefan doesn't take your word well. "Former partners? were they women or men?" was he being serious.

"What do you think tick?" You don't know why you decided to insult him. Maybe because he addressed you as the Cullens "Pet" or "Plaything". "I thought you don't like playing with your food" Stefan falls silent.

"I heard you address me as the Cullens pet, food, snack and plaything. You're not so discreet" Stefan twitches. Stefan had grown impatient and irritated.

Stefan grew more frustrated by the minute the wolf named Leah Clearwater laughs and leans into. How you laugh and smile in the presence of the Denali coven.

Never acknowledging or sparing him a glance, you ignore him as if the mate bond meant nothing to you. As if he is a burden, as if he is nothing but a blood thirsty vampire who sees you as nothing but a meal.

Stefan sped walks in your direction, a desperate attempt to get a point across. What's the point he has inhuman speed so why speed walk in your general direction. His action makes you back away from him, creating distance between you and a fuming Stefan.

He slows down to a slow pace but nonetheless keeps walking in your direction. You keep backing away from him "say it, say this means nothing".

"What the hell is wrong with you" you spoke in an attempt to make him come to a halt. "Say you are not mine and I am not yours. This is torture and you know it" you silently scream hoping someone will save you.

"That is not what I asked. Do you loathe me Swan" Stefan watch you shook your head. "No" you spoke lowly but loud enough for him to hear. Stefan eyes takes in your features, red lips, sharp jaw line, strong cheek bones.

Stefan gloved cold hands cups your face, pulls you in to close the tempting gap. Cold lips met yours, Stefan is much shorter than you but there is no way he would be caught tipping toeing to reach your rosy lips.

The kiss was rough, almost as if Stefan didn't want this to go this far. But what would Vladimir say if he missed this chance to have you to himself? Would Vladimir laugh or call him a fool? It didn't matter anymore, what did matter is you.

Stefan smirks against your lips, you gripped his leather coat. Stefan seemed to forget humans need to breathe so when you pulled away from him, he was not happy.

"What? I'm not finished" you shook your head at him. Removing Stefan cold hands from your beet red face. "I'm human I need to breath" straighten yourself to prevent him from pulling you back down again.

Stefan doesn't waste a minute for you to catch your breath, once again he pulls you down. Impatient, rough and cruel to your once perfect lips.

You force yourself away from him "jeez man, I'm not in university yet" Stefan cocks an eyebrow. "Graduate high school, yes?" you nod, you shouldn't have nod "good enough for me".

Bella grew frustrated "Edward he is swapping spit with MY brother" Edward sets a hand on her shoulder. "At least they are not ignoring each other now" Vladimir skims through a magazine.

an ode to zionist women

whenever anyone (especially gentiles) thinks of zionism, they think of, idk straight white men from europe (and the world needs and thrives on this view of zionism because it's their attempt of discrediting it and they think the perfect way to destroy zionism is by emphasizing the privileges of zionist jews, making it dangerously difficult and near impossible for jews who actually care about the injustices within the jewish community to acknowledge and lessen these disparities). i want to change that because 1) zionism is for ALL jews even when *some* jews perpetuated otherwise, 2) i won't allow misogyny to continue to succeed through this idea that zionism is a man's thing and 3) i want us to deal with these harmful misconceptions and get it out the way so we can properly stride towards an improved, fair future for us all. by letting these antisemitic ideas continue, we take steps backwards. zionist women deserve to be known. we have always been here and we always will be. if zionist women can be zionist knowing misogyny exists and will most likely eclipse their efforts, i don't know why people can't get over bad people who happen to be zionists because terrible people will always exist and anything can and will be weaponized; it's not the end of the world. ZIONIST WOMAN OF THE DAY: JESSIE SAMPTER

born in 1883, jessie sampter challenged zionist ideals of "strong, healthy bodies", being a disabled, queer, jewish woman (as a disabled woman myself, it is wrong that these ideals existed AND it makes sense that strong healthy bodies were championed considering the antisemitic world view of the jewish body as weak and unnatural...nuance!). the antisemitic belief that zionists all blindly supported israel/zionism/etc can quickly and easily be dismantled by actually looking at zionists, especially zionist women. no person is 100% supportive of anything so this is quite laughable. zionists have always been the leaders of criticism towards zionism (no one understands zionism more than zionists tbvh). zionists constantly argued amongst each other because they disagreed with each other's notions of zionism and each had their own specific interpretation that oftentimes clashed. she sometimes wrote negatively about zionist activity in the yishuv, highlighting how zionists have always been critical of zionism and other zionists.

jessie sampter was an defining educator, writer, poet and zionist pioneer and thinker. she encouraged jewish movement to mandatory palestine and considered herself "married to palestine". she wrote in both hebrew and english of a wide range of topics such as jewish nationalism, arab-jewish relations, life in the yishuv and her experiences which included same sex relationships and homoerotic desires. born into an assimilated jewish household, as an adult, she chose judaism and zionism after spending time in henrietta szold's home (important to note: before becoming friends with henrietta she was a part of the unitarian church). she had always cared about children all throughout her life, writing for magazines dedicated to children and as a zionist, writing for jewish children even up to her death.

at the time of her death in 1938, she had spent her entire life with russian zionist woman, leah berlin who had been living with her in kibbutz givat brenner, where sampter had established a vegetarian convalescent home. sampter fell ill and was hospitalized upon her arrival in jerusalem. yet she did not see herself as a drain on the zionist cause. rather, her essays framed her experience as a celebration of zionism for her english-speaking audiences: “to me it was almost worth the discomfort of a serious illness that I might spend several weeks as a patient, in the ranks of patients, in our own hadassah hospital in jerusalem—the rothschild hospital” (“bed number six").

JUST A FEW OF HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

she participated in organizing and fundraising for what would become the first school for the deaf in palestine. she also worked to ensure that education was available for yemenite jews in the yishuv. noticing that ashkenazi families excluded yemenite children from kindergartens and other schools, sampter helped create a kindergarten for yemenite children, a girl scout troop for yemenite girls, and an evening class for yemenite working girls. she would later adopt a yemenite jewish girl with whom she had developed a relationship during her visits to a jerusalem orphanage.

by 1914, sampter had become a key figure in hadassah. she served on the central committee, the organization’s main leadership council, alongside szold, lotta levensohn, nellie straus mochenson, alice seligsberg, and others. together, the women were effective organizers and fundraisers, though they did experience friction with the male-run zionist organization of america. the ZOA tried to bring hadassah under its own leadership structure, and often the men wanted the women’s support “but not their minds,” as henrietta szold wrote. sampter had no trouble using her mind for hadassah, however. she helmed the organization’s education department, served as a consultant for zionist education in baltimore, and ultimately published A Course in Zionism (1915), which brought together her investment in education with her zionism. she also published articles, pamphlets, and speeches in favor of zionism. “nationalism and universal brotherhood,” for example, argued for a principled position in favor of both internationalism and zionism: “as a jew I see that the idea of universal brotherhood is the crowning of jewish prophecy. and yet the jewish prophets were all nationalists.” she saw each nation (by which she meant something like people-group or culture, rather than nation-state) as contributing its own unique values and characteristics to the whole of humanity.

she edited a textbook with another zionist woman, alice seligsberg, wrote several books on philosophy and religion and published five poetry collections. below is one of her poems, titled "the light of exile":

I'm sending my annual Actual Consequences Christmas ask early this year since I just got done reading the whole saga! :D The Cullens know about Fred; how does that go down? Do Em and Rose ever come to an agreement on surrogacy, especially if Carlisle figures out that the surrogate COULD survive? What about Esme? Have Leah and Sammy progressed to marriage and/or kids? Have more shifters phased--perhaps Jake's daughter Sarah? What's Aro up to, considering that the Volturi aren't evil tyrants but ARE amoral royalty? I'm just always so pleased with your creativity!

Fred is really leery of the Cullens (or really, Alice and Edward who go to find him) at first, since he was 'raised' in Victoria's army and they were painted as this super powerful, super evil coven, but the two talk to him, even if they can't see/look at him, explain their family, their lifestyle, express their sympathy about how he was treated by Victoria and Riley, etc. Fred drops his guard, asks if they know what happened to Bree. Edward grimaces and explains, but Fred is moved by the bit about Esme and Carlisle sparing her and trying to adopt her, and he agrees to meet them.

By the time Christmas rolls around, he's a friend of the coven. Fred was a science student, and so he and Carlisle instantly bonded. Edward is lowkey jealous, because not only do they relate as science nerds, Fred looks like he could be Carlisle's son (tall and blond). Edward doesn't really doubt his place as Carlisle's beloved son, but he's got the brain of a 17-year-old so he angsts about it a bit. Fred is super shy and introverted, though, and so isn't interested in joining the coven, but does show up for Christmas, which makes Esme happy because the thought of him wandering alone is too sad. He's attempting vegetarianism (and Carlisle's pride about this is another reason Edward is feeling jealous), but he's not doing it for moral reasons so much as having to interact with other people even to kill them was just ugh, so awkward and unbearable. Fred prefers being alone and hunting in the woods.

But Fred's still learning, so no humans at Cullen Christmas this year. They do FaceTime or Zoom or whatever with Charlie & Sue, Renee & Phil, etc. Also check in with Jake and his son, Will, who phased last year. Seth has been showing him the ropes and he actually thinks the wolf stuff is pretty cool, but was relieved that he didn't have to kill Fred (and the Cullen, now knowing that vampiric presence triggers the change, convinced Fred to stay clear of the area). Leah and Sammy are married and talking about having a family. I personally think Leah's fertility problems would go away once she stopped phasing, but in the interest of drama and honoring canon such as it is, perhaps it is a Journey for them and eventually they realize it has to be Sam who carries the pregnancy. They think about asking Seth to be the donor so that the child can be part Leah, too, but Leah doesn't really want to pass on the werewolf genes, so they get an anonymous donor instead. The other Sam and Emily adopted a daughter several years ago, and recently have taken in two boys who are actually Sam's much younger half-siblings from his father, and the whole pack thinks that maybe this was the purpose of the imprint: no biological kids with her, but still raising two possible future wolves who needed a home. They've taken to calling her "Momily." She loves it.

With Carlisle and Rosalie back in the USA for the Christmas holiday, their research on hybrids in Volterra has taken a break, and Aro is now . . . left to his own devices. He of course knows everything they know, and is intrigued by the thought of how powers might be passed down to offspring. Joham's was not gifted, so none of his children are, but what would Aro's own children be like? Demetri's? Only one way to find out! And Carlisle's not around to tell him it's an evil idea and the women will probably die. I don't want this to get TOO dark so let's say that Aro and Demetri go out and seduce women and tell them they are vampires and if they survive the pregnancy they will become vampires too so there's SOMETHING approaching consent vs kidnapping random women. Aro is waiting until after the holiday to call Carlisle and tell him there are two pregnant humans that will need his skills if they hope to survive. No pressure thought! Totally up to you if you want to come back to Italy, dear friend!!!

(Witnessing the horror of the pregnancies will take surrogacy off the table for Rosalie and Esme, I think.)

What else? Oh. Renee. Aro hasn't forgotten about her and her potential mind-control talent, but he's been so preoccupied with the hybrid stuff it's on the backburner for now. But he has sent Heidi on a special mission to Florida. She's joined Renee's book group (they conveniently meet at night) and they are becoming fast friends. Heidi is hard to resist, after all, and next year she will propose a girls' trip to Italy. How does Alice not see this? Well, another new member of the book group is named Serena. She's Joham's daughter. Alice can't see hybrids.

I can see Leah as a deer and a fox, it’s a struggle. (ramble incoming)

Leah would make a perfect deer because she lives in the woods and i see her as quite strong, like a doe. Her being a vegetarian helps with that, and her relationship with Hare hybrid Elliot would be perfect! Leah could mention that the read was heading towards them, Elliot quickly looks behind him to find nothing. He turns around to fuss at Leah for teasing him only to find her speeding off! (Doe are so fast and for what 😭)

Leah would also make the perfect fox because of her creativity! Fox Leah would definitely make her art more shiny (crossing into crow territory), definitely more friendly teasing, and maybe surprise jumping onto Elliot in-front of the reader to make him a little disheveled.

In a world with monsters, witches, and wizards, where are the fantasy creatures? Add some fantasy elements to your Pelican Town.

It all started when I decided to make a fairy Emily, followed by Haley and Abigail. Instead of having a bunch of smaller mods, they are all now bundled into one experience. I’m doing this in my free time as I get ideas, so the progress is slow but feel free to follow the progress here and give suggestions at Nexus or via ask!

 Second release. Adds Sebastian, Sandy, Jas and Marnie. I also added an Alternative Texture file for the kelpie form of Sebastian.

Fairy (fae) : free-spirited and lively, fairies are known for their mysterious ways and to be in touch with nature. The two sisters came from the big city to get in touch with their origins, both with very different personalities.

Harpy : they might have a little of a bad reputation, but harpies can also be honorable guardians. Spirits of the wind and the rainbows, they are said to have a fragrant aroma.

Spider-folk : also known as jorōgumo, the stories of them killing men are greatly exaggerated. Abigail has a bad time with her fear of spiders, tho.

Alraune : they say that alraunes are born from the blood spilled at rose bushes, so maybe that’s why Leah is a vegetarian. In any case, she is in tune with the trees and the forest around her.

Kelpie : water creatures from the Celtic tales, often seen by the river. They can be elusive and rather mysterious. Still, they can be more loyal than they are willing to admit.

Naga : inhabitants of warmer climates, they have the reputation of being seductresses. Or maybe it is just a playful misunderstanding? Either way, it might be good for business.

Sheep-folk : Laid-back and welcoming, their horns start developing at a very early age but they are great for ribbons

I’m still deciding the species for the bachelors and the other villagers, suggestions are welcome! All the bachelorettes have unique wedding dresses, so the guys will have it too. Right now I’m unsure if I should have Maru to be another fantasy race or leave her as human, so ideas are definitively welcome.

Chopped liver is gross. Like, gefilte fish level gross. It’s not just the fact that it resembles cat food, but knowing that its origins have been traced to 11th-century Alsace-Lorraine where it began being made from the livers and fat of force-fed geese is enough for me to push the plate away. 

So, the idea of mock chopped liver is really a welcome culinary evolution for me, even if the idea of creating a liver-like schmear is equally weird. 

The name “mock chopped liver” comes from its resemblance in appearance and texture to the traditional liver-based pâté. However, the main ingredient in mock chopped liver is not actual liver but rather a combination of cooked or roasted vegetables, onions, hard-boiled eggs and walnuts.

During the mid-20th century, “mock liver” became a prominent item on the menus of New York City’s numerous “dairy restaurants,” which served as the meat-free counterparts to traditional delicatessens. Those keeping kosher could now enjoy a chopped liver-esque spread alongside an egg cream without having to make a choice between the two. 

Mock chopped liver has become super popular over the years as more and more folks hop on the plant-based train or look for meatless alternatives. People dig it for a bunch of reasons, like caring for their health, the environment or sticking to ethical beliefs. It’s also a win-win for those with dietary restrictions or allergies to animal products.

Chef Cara Tannenbaum remembers indulging in real chopped liver when she was a kid on Long Island. As the years passed, the Tannenbaum family adopted a health-conscious approach to eating, prompting them to revamp their traditional schmaltz-filled chopped liver recipe. They embraced a vegetarian version, brimming with the delightful flavors of caramelized onions, mushrooms, peas and walnuts, creating a savory and wholesome alternative.

While the basic concept remains the same – using vegetables and nuts as a substitute for liver – the specific ingredients and cooking methods can differ based on regional preferences and individual tastes.

In Arthur Schwartz’s “Jewish Home Cooking: Yiddish Recipes Revisited,” he writes that onions are a defining flavor, in the sense that some dishes rely so heavily on onions that they wouldn’t taste Jewish without them. 

“Chopped liver immediately comes to mind. In fact, I’d say mock chopped liver, the vegetarian version, relies mainly on fried onions to resemble the real thing.” 

Gil Marks, another culinary expert, considers mushrooms to be another essential ingredient in creating this savory spread.

In the old school North American versions of vegetarian chopped liver, the typical ingredients included canned green peas or string beans, which were mashed together with fried onions and mushrooms (and occasionally eggplant) to create a creamy, taupe-colored spread. 

“Some recipes included walnuts, hard-boiled eggs, or crushed crackers for heft. As far as photogenic dishes go, it wasn’t exactly a looker. But it was, and continues to be, deeply desirable,” writes Leah Koenig in Bon Appetit.

In more contemporary iterations of vegetarian chopped liver, cooks often opt for fresher ingredients while staying true to the traditional layering approach. This clever technique allows them to replicate the unctuous texture and delectable savory-sweet flavor that made the original dish so beloved.

In Aly Miller’s Nosher recipe for vegan chopped liver, she incorporates mushrooms and miso for a rich “faux gras.” While Nino Shaye Weiss, a food blogger in Vienna, incorporates caramelized onion and shots of Slivovitz to his as a nod to its Central European roots.

In Israel, vegetarian chopped liver is usually made with roast eggplant or summer squash, (particularly zucchini), hard-boiled eggs and carmelized onions. It is arguably more popular and available than regular chopped liver countrywide. 

From its modest beginnings as a practical adaptation in Europe to its current global appeal, this vegetarian delight has become a timeless treasure in the world of Jewish cuisine. wanda for the ask game!

one aspect about them i love - I love a lot of things about Wanda but I guess one of the things I really like is how real she feels from having so many different interests and talents. like having so many languages she not only speaks but is shown to speak like the brief moment where she, monica and janet speak french together, and her childhood interest in acting, being a vegetarian, etc, she just has a lot of little details about her life more than some other characters that really makes her feel fleshed out and i really appreciate it about her!

one aspect i wish more people understood about them - wanda's relationship with magneto, lorna, and even pietro is very complex and i worry a lot of the time fandom tends to roll over that complexity for that magnetfam fanon people tend to love. i also don't know where the "wanda is magneto's favourite" thing comes from because while he certainly holds her in higher regard than pietro, i still think he fundamentally misunderstands her in a lot of ways and there is a certain amount of trauma he's caused her that will always make the "daddy daughter" relationship leah williams seems to think they have infeasible, at least to me. it doesn't mean they don't care for each other but idk, i think it's important to allow relationships to be complicated!

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character - i think she has a number of succulents she takes care of but she keeps forgetting to keep care of them or they keep getting damaged and she keeps just using magic to keep them alive because she feels a little guilty over not being able to keep a cactus alive. they were probably gifts from bruce. speaking of i like to imagine she and bruce being relatively close outside of avenging and she's one of the first people he'll make contact with after going off the grid, aside from like, rick and amadeus first obviously

one character i love seeing them interact with - her and janet... they're the main avengers women for a very long time n yet a dynamic of theirs isn't often expanded on and i really wish more people saw the potential! they're opposites in a lot of ways but not to the same degree that wanda and carol are kind of opposites. i think wanda and janet learn a lot from one another that they both appreciate. i think early days wanda when she's basically a teenager on a superhero team looks up to janet a little, i think that would be cute.

one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more - her and mantis haven't interacted in FOREVER n i miss them. they're catty friends i want to see them serve cunt together again as they deserve. never thought i'd say this but steve englehart please make your return i know he would give me the mantis and wanda brunch dates i so desperately yearn for. let mantis leave the guardians for a bit and chill with the avengers and wanda. they've both had to make big strides in personal development and i think seeing them interact after that personal growth would be really interesting.

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character - i think vision was doing so much of the cooking while they were married that she's really out of practise because she never really picked it up again after the annulment and is too embarrassed to admit she isn't sure how to cook anymore.

( I completely forgot that werewolves fed on humans in the twilight universe till I googled it) Edited - 20/06/24

Being a werewolf meant hiding vampires Especially the Volturi, given the whole hunting your species until Extinction thing.

So meeting Seth, who was a Quileute shapeshifter kind of threw a wrench into your whole plan of staying undetected. Especially because you felt so drawn to him 

It got even more complicated when you found out that he had imprinted on you which meant you had to meet the whole pack which was tense given that you were a child of the moon.

Eventually After tensions had settled you and Seth's pack actually got along quite well minus the teasing.

When the Cullen's found out about you, they had unnerved you being their natural enemy and all that but you came to an understanding.

Carlisle even agreed to supply you with blood bags since the vegetarian diet that the vampires were on didn't work for you. 

When you did shift something you couldn't control, Seth stayed with you to make sure you didn't turn/hurt anybody.

You weren’t in control when you shifted but you knew not to hurt Seth when he was with you.

When the moon started to wear off which allowed you to regain some form of control you mostly just chased Seth around the woods or cuddled till you could shift back.

Seth took care of you after every shift especially after the lunar phase of the moons as it was always the hardest when the moon was at its fullest.

Jacob and Leah didn't trust you at first as far as they knew you were dangerous and Seth was Leah’s baby brother she didn't want him to get hurt.

It wasn't until she saw how wrapped around Seth's finger you were that she began to trust you

She was happy that Seth had found somebody who loved him back

Watching YouTubers like hitomi and Leah's field notes make me so happy! They inspire me so much~ I want to live a very similar lifestyle like theirs(especially hitomi) I love how she's always in nature and she's always smiling and laughing and she just makes me so happy to live life you know? Like.....I could literally talk about her for forever. I want to live a very natural and healthy and fulfilling life like theirs so so so bad! Like yoga, meditation, eating more plant based(I'm vegetarian and I'm slowly v v slowly working my way to being vegan!), always being outside,being mores sustainable, having friends that I'm super comfortable with and them being like my sisters, doing art without the stress of needing it to be absolutely perfect! There's a lot more I could say. just being a free spirit!! Like sigh....

And the thing is...it's not impossible at all. I could actually do this. I don't know why I think it's so hard.

The place I live currently though does make it a bit difficult but I could do the small things listed above but the friend part it'll..it'll take a while for that to happen and that's okay :) we all move at our own speed. One step at a time♡

Generation 1: Abigail:

 You were raised with humble upbringings. Your dad ran a general store, while your mom was best at complaining about your “alternative lifestyle.” You left home looking to start a life free of rules and parents, and with 20 000 simoleons in your pocket, you settled down in a new city.
