Let's Make Bath Bombs!
Happy birthday @kai-keda! I was watching a video of Safiya Nygaard combining all the bath bombs from Lush, and that sounded like something Xiaotian would want to try with the encouragement from the twins, and Red's a sucker for his adorable family.
-_-
"What on Earth are you doing?"
Red Son's wonderful, lovely, breath-taking husband looked up, goggles over his eyes. In one hand, he held a hammer. On the other, he was prying a bath bomb out of Xiaobo's hands, halfway to his mouth and wearing his own tiny goggles. If Red wasn't so shocked, he would've cooed at the adorable sight. Speaking of bath bombs, the entire table was covered in them, hitting all corners of the rainbow. On the other end, Peter sat with goggles of his own.
"...Combining all of the bath bombs?"
Red took in a deep breath and sighed. "From where?"
"That fancy place down the street. You know, the one ran by that nice snake lady?"
Red knew the place. He had bought soap for his honeymoon from that place, and the snake lady in question had congratulated him on his "fun night." She sold a mixture of normal stuff and more magic-laced stuff. Based on the amount he could see, he was willing to bet Xiaotian had bought even the magical ones. "Okay. Why?"
Xiaotian set down the hammer and scooped Xiaobo up. "Okay, so we decided to step inside because she had that new food-shaped collection and I figured it would be fun since Pigsy's celebrating the anniversary of the noodle shop opening. And then Peter wondered what the bath bombs would look like combined, and then..." Red could practically see it with that explanation. “Xiaojiao even sent me a video of some woman doing it.” And he could see that, the enabler.
"The lady looked really surprised," Peter said with an adorable little pout. "And now, Baba won't let me smash them."
“They even promised to not make a fuss about getting a bath so the could try them!”
There were several ways Red could've responded. He glanced to his nervous-looking husband, his sulky son, and to his other son who was trying to stuff another bath bomb in his mouth, with Xiaotian grabbing the bomb before he could take a bite. He sighed. "Is there another set of goggles and a hammer?" Xiaotian, his sweet light, face lit up in a smile as he nodded to the counter. There, as if expecting he would say yes, sat goggles and a hammer. Red sighed again and turned back to the table. “First, we have to organize these. By color. It’ll make things neater.”
“Aww…”
“Okay!”
Turns out that, yes, Xiaotian bought all of the bath bombs, including the more magical, sexy ones. Red distracted Peter by sorting, as well as teaching him how to swing a hammer, while Xiaotian grabbed them, Xiaobo chilling on his back and far away from grabbing and eating any of the bath bombs.
Once a rainbow of organized bath bombs decorated their table (with a drop cloth protecting it, Red honestly couldn't believe Xiaotian had forgotten that), the smashing could begin. Red took on the duty of making sure Peter didn't hurt himself as he swung his hammer, guiding him down and through the strike on the defenseless bath bomb.
"Ooh," Xiaotian said as he opened a green one. "This one smells minty! What does yours smell like, bud?"
Peter sniffed his bath bomb, which had been shaped like a mango before the little one had taken great delight in destroying it. "Vanilla!" he said.
Red raised a brow at the declaration. "Can I smell it?" When the little calf nodded, he leaned forward and sniffed, his brow raising further at the scent that greeted him. "Huh. It really does smell like vanilla. Weird."
"Oh, remember that red lava one, Peter?" Xiaotian said, clearly stifling laughter based on the shake of his shoulders. "The one that looked like it would smell like strawberries but smelled like peaches?"
"Yeah! Bath bombs are weird!"
“I think just this store’s bath bombs are weird,” Xiaotian chuckled, spreading his hands. “They’re magic!”
“Magic, and expensive.” Yeah, they would be talking about how much money Xiaotian spent on this project. Red would be more irritated if he didn’t know Xiaotian hadn’t used their mutual credit card. “What other weird smells do you think there are?”
Turns out, loads.
Once all the bath bombs (save the “special”) ones were smashed with minimal property destruction (why did the store even sell exploding bath bombs?), it was time to grind. And once that was all done, an issue arose.
“I don’t think this will all fit in one mold.” Red grabbed one of the molds his family had gotten and eyed the size. Yeah, nope.
“Aww!”
“But we can make two kinds!” Xiaotian said, “And throw them in together!”
Peter and Xiaobo’s eyes went big. They didn’t even have to speak to make clear their agreement.
In went the powder. Red took orange and yellow, Xiaotian took red and purple, and they divided up the other colors in between them. Carefully tucked in were dried flowers, shea butter, chunks of dried orange, and other goodies tucked in the bath bombs Xiaotian wanted to keep whole.
And then, it was bathtime.
"Okay, are you guys ready?"
"Ready!" Xiaobo threw his hands up at the same time as Peter, babbling something that Red was willing to guess was "yes." Both of them sat naked in the bath tub full of water, Xiaobo contently floating in his little seat.
Red chuckled, holding one of the bath bombs. Xiaotian grinned as he grabbed the other. "Okay, one, two, three..."
"GO!"
Xiaotian dropped his bomb in, and Red followed suit. The moment the bombs hit the water, they began to sizzle and foam up. The boys cheered as colors began to spread across the water. Red honestly expected some shade of grey or muddy brown, since that was what you got when you mixed every color together. He was pleasantly surprised that, through some kind of magic, the colors spread and kept, turning the water rainbow.
"SO COOL!"
"It is!" Red chuckled, enjoying the sight of his children enjoying the wonder of bathtime. He glanced at Xiaotian, who smiled sweetly at him, reminding him of the other bath bombs waiting to be combined. “Now, remember what we agreed on?”
Thankfully, the twins’ joy didn’t die at being reminded of bath time. Both were too amazed by the rainbow water and the sweet smells that rose up to really notice Xiaotian gently shampooing their head and rinsing it out, only to replace it with conditioner. Red made sure that behind their ears were clean, Xiaobo not even raising a fuss.
He really needed to keep those bath bombs in stock if it got the twins to enjoy bath time.

SUMMARY OF ALL ARKANIS POVS
DAY 77 — 19/11/2024
Valigma dawns peaceful but agitated, as usual.
Quel, who works at ValNews alongside Maethe, brings together all the interviews she did (with FunBABE and Nicklink) to include in the new edition of the newspaper (To write the newspaper, she uses the pseudonym "Leuq").
JVNQ (The real one) tells Guaxinim about everything that happened while he was sleeping.
Pac wakes up and soon receives a book from Leonardo, who says he needs a favor from Pac. He tells Pac to bring some items to a mysterious coordinate.
Wearing new clothes, Pac goes to the location indicated in the book, arriving at a huge castle/palace in the middle of the desert (This place is called Leonardo's Old Base).
At the location, Pac finds a book about a dagger he had received as a gift from Leonardo, with the weapon being described as a "Neutrarkanya dagger", a weapon that once belonged to an Obstinate, but due to a manipulation made by Leonardo, the dagger no longer has Arkanya embedded in it. Pac will then need to recharge the dagger with Arkanya on a pedestal as soon as he completes each new mission given by Leonardo ("After all, I won't give you Arkanya for free" "Fail at this [Mission] and, of course, you will be lost").
All specialists meet to talk in front of city hall. They discuss and theorize about what happened yesterday (With an amazing slideshow made by Bagi).
Suddenly the sky starts to turn pink and countless lightning strikes fall. The sky returns to normal soon after.
While the group was talking about the confused event had occurred, Samir appeared asking for help from the specialists. The entity then gives the group a coordinate, saying Moah needed their help.
The coordinates took the specialists towards a rustic house and the person who received them was none other than the captain of the boat from the first day, better known as Moah.
Moah receives all the specialists and talks about having left many things in "Old Valigma" (Context: Valigma was founded around a large mine that provided work and resources for the city, helping the economy. When the incident occurred in the mines, the citizens had to rebuild the city away from the mines).
While they were talking, Moah decided to take them to "Old Valigma" to look for everything that was lost in the ruins of the ancient city. Unfortunately, Araldo appears at the scene to stop Moah, choosing to kill him.
Moah dies coldly at the hands of Araldo, who leaves the specialists alone after that.
Unable to do anything to help, the group decides to regroup and explore Moah's house, finding some books there (I managed to get a photo of just one of the books to translate):
"Mom...
I don't know what else to do. I'm about to lose my job here in Valigma and, even worse, I'm going to be exiled. There's no way out for me, mom. I'm going have to leave and maybe I'll never come back.
I never thought things would get to this point, I'm desperate, feeling alone and lost. I really wanted things to be different... that we were in another Valigma, you know?
One where I didn't have to fight so much just to exist. I love you more than anything.
Moah."
In addition to this book, there was a video of the incident at Jota's parents house on the wall of the place. Suddenly, bombs and lava begin to fall on Moah's house, making the specialists have to leave the place in a hurry.
They decide to meet at City Hall to talk.
Suddenly, Araldo's robots begin to appear to attack the specialists, along with Araldo himself who launches several lightning strikes in their direction.

Greetings, fellow adventurers and dice hoarders! It's Lambert from URWizards here, your resident dice designer and conjurer of gaming wonders. 🧙♂️✨
I'm absolutely stoked to take you on a little journey deep into the heart of our latest creation – a dice set inspired by the ferocious beauty of a volcano's wrath. 🌋
Let's embark on this tale of craftsmanship and elemental passion:
An Idea is Born
We scoured through a mountain of volcanic eruption videos and photos, and even though I've never ventured to an actual volcano, these materials made us believe that a volcano holds an infinite inner strength. It's much like most of us, right? Perhaps we haven't had our momentous eruption yet, but that inner flame and the dreams of our childhood are still burning bright, aren't they?
Molding the Myth
After poring over a volcano's worth of materials, my colleague and I have chiseled out the base molds for our dice set, each with the distinctive pattern only Mother Nature could etch. Varied as the layers of the earth, these textures stretch from peak to base, a hallmark of the great outdoors on a miniature scale.
But don't let the rugged exterior fool you. Like fitting square pegs in round holes, we've ensured that these designs hold the same density as the resin they'll marry, because in the world of D&D, balance isn't just a virtue; it's the name of the game.
Igniting the Palette
After a dozen splattered trials, we finally got the hang of bringing our volcanic dice to life – and let me tell you, it's as delicate as defusing a bomb with a feather.
You see, my hands became a living canvas, often speckled more than a Jackson Pollock knockoff. While painting, one overly enthusiastic stroke and the pigment would go rogue, flooding into canyons we never meant to explore.
Sure, real lava doesn’t play by the rules – it flows where it pleases – but here in the URWizards’ workshop, every stream of molten color is plotted like it’s got a GPS tracker on it.
But we nailed it! Each fiery path now sits exactly where we wanted, a testament to our ‘control the chaos’ mantra. The end result? Dice that look so hot, they could melt your face off – in a good way, I promise! That night, I was so jazzed up, sleep didn’t stand a chance.
Carefully applying the paint. Little volcanoes in the palm of my hand.
Casting the Core
The last hurrah in our dice-making shindig is the resin pour – sounds easy-peasy, right? But hold onto your hats, because we're not just making dice; we're birthing miniature volcanoes here. We're going for that ‘just erupted’ vibe, aiming to bottle up that smoky after-party glow that lingers like the best kind of rumor. The goal? To have that smoggy dance, twirling up with the magma like it's auditioning for a spot in the air ballet. 🌋✨
We've equipped this product with a sophisticated box, the Black Magnetic Rigid Gift Box, as many of our users cherish gifting our products to their most beloved. This magnetic gift box snugly fits a full set of dice—and there's room for a few extras, too.
Thank you so much if you actually follow here. I know it is quite long for a post lol.
Please comment on this, any comment is very valuable for us.
If you have some great design ideas, feel free to share them with us; let's explore together and turn dreams into reality.

Name: Slide Box
Debut: Super Mario 64
Just the other day I was on a jaunt to Jolly Roger Bay when it hit me: a wooden crate with a skull and crossbones painted on it! Ouch! And then it occurred to me: It had taken away an eighth of my health! And that’s when I realized: I needed to move out of the way so it didn’t hit me again!
Once I was out of its path, something dawned on me: The sun! I had played video games all night and so I went to bed and promptly fell asleep! I didn’t even know what this thing was called! I mean, we’ve all seen it. We all know it. But it’s not exactly an enemy... is it? It’s just kind of an obstacle, right? I took to the Super Mario Wiki page for Jolly Roger Bay to investigate, and lo and behold, there it was underneath the “Enemies” section. Slide Box, huh? Sure is a name! Its matter-of-fact nature makes a lot more sense when you realize it’s really just its internal name in the game’s files (SLIDE_BOX).
The real interesting thing is that the Super Mario Wiki only says Slide Box can take away 1/8th of Mario’s health. But Im here to show you what they DON’T want you to know... What is Big Mario hiding from us, you ask...? SLIDE BOX CAN ALSO SQUASH YOU!!! Yes, it’s true... and here is the PROOF, from a source who bravely gave (one of) their life(s) to unveil this heinous conspiracy:
youtube
As you can see, it is possible for Slide Box to take away half of all of Mario’s health in about a second flat (no pun intended). This is, I believe, more DPS than any other enemy in the game. Now, as you can also see, it’s possible for the box to slide over Mario without damaging him at all! There’s clearly some jank going on here, as it’s also possible to jump on top of it and then suddenly find yourself squashed underneath it.
Now, I’m sure you must be wondering: What’s in the box? Treasure? Cannonballs? Bananas? Lamp oil? Rope? Bombs? Or... Dare I say it... SKULLS??? Who’s to say? Not me! But if there’s one thing I learned in the course of my research, it’s that unsecured cargo is incredibly dangerous and we should be more afraid of it than most things in the world (more than lava and giant stone faces that squash you, but still less than bottomless pits)!

Rock Swag Tournament Round 1: Igneous Rocks Part 11
Tuff is an igneous rock...or maybe a sedimentary rock based on who you ask! It is made of lithified volcanic ash (lithification is the process by which particles of stuff become rock, and volcanic ash is sand grain-sized pieces of ejected volcanic matter).
Tuff generally also has pieces of all kinds of other stuff, as well. As long as stuff that is 2 mm or smaller makes up 75% of the rock, it will be considered tuff. Anything less than 75% volcanic ash, and the rock is described as "tuffaceous."
Fun fact: the Moai on Rapa Nui (Easter Island) are made of tuff! Also, according to one submitter, "this is one of the few volcanic rocks that can be made into a really lovely paint. Specifically a vaguely purplish gray" COOL!
Ignimbrite could be considered a type of tuff, but it is more specifically a rock formed from a pyroclastic flow deposit. Pyroclastic flows are one of the deadliest geological phenomena as they are burning hot clouds of gas and debris that race down the sides of volcanoes during some eruptions!
Ignimbrites can have more and larger pieces of volcanic debris, but they could also simply be tuffs that have welded due to the high heat from an eruption. Ignimbrites also may contain fiamme, which are "flame-shaped" lapilli (volcanic tephra or debris between 2 and 64 mm big) that have been flattened or sheared during deposition.
More on pyroclastic flows under the cut, because they are fascinating in that they are dangerous and I must talk about them.
Pyroclastic flows are blisteringly hot and terrifyingly fast clouds of volcanic gas and assorted tephra: volcanic material that can include ash (particles less than 2 mm), lapilli (between 2 and 64 mm), and blocks and bombs (greater than 64 mm).
They flow (violently rocket) down the side of volcanoes after explosive eruptions. You generally don't have to worry about pyroclastic flows on Kīlauea any time soon because those eruptions are mostly lava flows (which you can usually outrun). However, some of the most famous volcanic eruptions from recorded human history--Mount St. Helens in 1980, Krakatoa in 1883, and Vesuvius in 79 CE--were accompanied by pyroclastic flows.
Pyroclastic flows can be triggered a number of ways. Some examples are lava domes collapsing and causing an avalanche of sorts, part of the volcano exploding or collapsing in one direction (like Mount St. Helens), or the plume of debris and gas that is shot vertically into the air during an eruption collapsing back down to the surface (like Mount Vesuvius).
There is no outrunning a pyroclastic flow. They flow down the side of volcanoes and across the surrounding landscape at typical speeds upwards of 80 km/h (50 mph), but they can reach speeds of several hundred km/h. These clouds of debris are also several hundred degrees Celsius. You do not survive a pyroclastic flow!
If you would like to see what one of these looks like, I have two videos. Please be warned that because pyroclastic flows are so deadly, one of these two videos discusses deaths related to a specific eruption.
This video is from a documentary (I do not know the name of the film) and the beginning shows the genesis of the pyroclastic flow: the lava dome collapses and causes an avalanche. The pyroclastic flow then moves along a stream valley and close to a nearby town. CW: This video mentions the number of deaths directly related to this eruption and pyroclastic flow. There is footage of a vehicle and a person fleeing the pyroclastic flow, but the town they are in is are far enough away that the pyroclastic flow does not reach their location, and they survive. The potentially triggering part of the video begins at 0:24.
This video shows a pyroclastic flow going into the ocean. CW: As far as I can see, there are no people or animals in the path of the pyroclastic flow in this video and so there are presumably no deaths associated with this eruption.

Metroid Zero Mission Part 3: No Ridleys were harmed during the making of this video
So Zero Mission is an easier game that tries to be more beginner friendly, that part everyone knows. However I don’t think people realise to what extent it makes things easier
See, even beyond the whole Chozo Statues debacle, if you think about it the sheer act of finding the way forward in ZM is comparatively easier than the previous games
In Metroid games you will often gave to shoot or bomb certain floors or walls in order to proceed (not to mention finding secrets). Often the games (post Super) communicate to the player which things can be destroyed and which can’t in a number of ways
In Super we can notice a sort of increasing complexity in what the games asks you to do in order to find the way forward: at first breackable blocks will be graphically distinct from all the other ones, either having clearly visible cracks or having a design that clashes with the rest of the foreground. But as you progress the game will start to no longer use visual cues and will actually ask you to pay close attention to the map: for example in Norfair, in order to reach the room with the Speed Booster, you will be tasked with figuring out that you have to destroy the ceiling of a seemingly empty room to proceed. The catch is that the ceiling looks perfectly normal, the clue lies in the fact that on the map the room looks like it extends upwards, as if it had no ceiling. By the time you reach the Wrecked Ship the game largely stops giving you visual clues, most likely because it expects you to use the X-Ray scanner on any potential dead end
Fusion is an oddball, because it almost never features any real clues as to which surfaces are destructible or not, without even having an equivalent to the X-Ray scanner until you get the Power Bombs. However that game will regularily trap you in a strict set of rooms when this happens, so the number of potential solutions to these tasks are greatly limited, which means that even the most bumbling of players should figure out the solution eventually by just bombing everything. For example in Sector 6 you will, at one point, bust through a couple of Speed Booster blocks which will regenerate right after, thus trapping you in 2 small rooms, with the only way out being bombing the floor of the eastern one
Zero Mission is closer to Super’s way of doing things but it’s actually toned down in terms of difficulty, as 8 times out of 10, knowing which surfaces to break is made really obvious because you can often clearly see the path continuing on the other side, or maybe there’s a clearly destructible block, or even a combination of both
Take obtaining the Wave Beam for example: you’ll stumble upon the fork in the road leading to it while on your way to Ridley’s Lair, it won’t be possible to go through the next room without first grabbing it, the floor that separates the main path from the one leading to the Wave Beam very blatantly features objects beneath it and one of the blocks making up the floor is much bigger and squarer than the rest, pretty much screaming “shoot me!”. The only somewhat tricky part is the fake lava, but even then Kraid’s Lair had the same obstacle once so it shouldn’t be an issue here. This is a (roughly) mid-game item, by this point Super was already asking you to look at the map for clues rather than for cracks and stuff, by comparison ZM is pretty much still at early game levels of complexity.
Kraid’s Lair however is an interesting case because it actually features some more complexity: there’s the aforementioned fake acid path which is tricky the first time. At one point you’ll have to bomb a spot in a narrow corridor to drop down, with that spot featuring a clearly visible shaft underneath. A bit later the game will ask you to do the same, only there’s no shaft this time, only some barely visible cracks that you can easily miss if you’re not paying attention
In Brinstar getting the Varia Suit without help from the Chozo Statue can also be interesting...kinda
The visual indicator that it uses is a bunch of bugs crawling inside the floor of the room you have to shoot in order to reach the Varia, which is cool and unique! However the bugs will only spawn after you beat Kraid for some reason. What this means is that should you happen to pass by that room before then (which is very likely) you won’t notice anything weird about it, so when it’s time to actually get the Varia to proceed you won’t know to go to that room, nor will you get the idea by looking at the map as it will show you that you’ve already been there and there doesn’t seem to be anything special about it at a glance, thus pretty much forcing you to use a Chozo Statue. So much for giving the player the option to figure things out for themselves eh?
Aside form these few instances however the game is always pretty obvious on what you should shoot to proceed: gotta get the Power Grip? There’s a clearly visible passage beyond its breackable wall. The floor in the Norfair shaft? Pretty clearly the shaft keeps going down beyond it
Let me be clear that I’m only talking about having to find mandatory items: optional expantions are generally harder to find and will require more effort, in fact Zero Mission has an absolute truck load of secret passageways, some of which are there to allow low % runners a way to proceed through the game even without all of its others, while others are a lot of shortcuts that have you use the Speed Booster, which sees a much greater and original use than in Fusion, though it still feels limited and situational since you still have to run a long distance before triggering it due to the lack of a run button. If you like finding these sorts of secrets then Zero Mission will be your favorite game in the series by a mile, since not even Super is this chock full of them
However, on the topic of expansions, the game is actually very generous with those as well...
Super Metroid tended to serve you a couple of Energy Tanks and Missile Tanks for free at first. You could find them on your way to your next mandatory destination sitting in the open. They were there to get you started, but after a while the game would pretty much stop: most of the expansions needed to be found on your own, either by backtracking to previous locations by your own initiative, or through meticulous use of the X-Ray Scanner. This essentially meant that you had to look for most of your expanded arsenal yourself, and if you didn’t put in the effort then stuff like Draygon and Ridley could get really hard for you
With Zero Mission there’s a shift: the game is far more generous with expansions. The game places a shit load of Missile Expansions out in the open for you to easily nab, and Energy Tanks are either something you run by as you progress naturally (for example: there’s one in the room where you get the Varia, as soon as you drop in the vat of acid the camera will pan down showing you the little spot where the Tank is, so the game ensures to inform you of its presence and it wont’t take long to find the entrance by simply bombing the floor). Some may be hidden but indicated on the Map by circles but it’s usually as easy as shooting a block in the room to reveal it. There are only 2 Energy Tanks in the game that are truly hidden in a hardcore way and they’re booth tied to Speed Booster puzzles, otherwise more than half of the game’s tanks can be comfortably collected as you go through the game’s intended path.
The reason why I called this a shift is because pretty much every single game afterwards will do things this way: Prime 3 pretty much just gives you Energy Tanks like candy, Other M speaks for itself, Samus Returns has the Scan Pulse which makes finding stuff easier in general and Dread pretty much does the same as ZM, except it makes things even easier is some ways, since at least ZM has Super Missiles as a seperate resource, and their Tanks are actually a bit more interesting to search for, while Dread goes the Fusion way and makes Super Missiles the same as normal ones.
The effect all of this has is that it further pushes pure, player driven exploration to the backburner: while in the original trilogy (and also the first 2 Primes) you had to look for expansions on your own in order to ensure your survival, now the games just give you most of what you’ll strictly need as you proceed normally, so the games can be sure you’ll be ready for the next threat. This means that you can mostly just cruise along as the game does most of the important exploration for you. This doesn’t mean there still aren’t expansions that are more interesting and even straight up difficult to find, but they’re relegated to completely optional stuff that you’ll in no way truly feel the need to collect if not for a 100% run
Wanna know the real kicker for me? I’ve noticed that AM2R does all of this too! Many Missile Tanks are out in the open, most Energy Tanks are, again, out in the open and not that difficult to find etc. I find this case interesting, because this is a fan game not tied down by the need to be as accessible as possible for a market, yet it still adopts these simplefied design choices.
Anyway to get back at the game proper: I always laugh when I think about Ridley in this game XD
After beating Kraid the game tries to hype him up so much, showing you these glimpses of him travelling to and landing on Zebes, having him ambush you in his boss room, knowing that by this point him being responsible for the death of Samus’ parents has been canonized etc
...then you fight and he keels over in 5 seconds, especially if you’ve managed to get all Super Missile Tanks on the way. He’s SO pathetic! Which I guess is pretty faithful to his original fight but godDAMN!
I swear the more I think about it the more hilarious it gets: this is his first battle against Samus, he approaches it all smug and sure of himself, all Alpha Predator and shit...and then Samus just unloads decades of pent up PTSD induced rage at him and he fucking croaks before he can even blink lmao
And then by canon the Pirates had to pick up what was left of him and stitch him back together with cybernetic implants, forcing him to live as a cyborg for YEARS. No wonder he always looks so pissed at Samus!
About his Lair: I had never noticed that it pretty much locks you in as soon as you defeat the Larva, only being able to get out once you beat Ridley, which unlocks the room with the cannon. It not only feels unneccessary, but can also fuck up any player who decides to sequence break to do Ridley first.
Tourian is pretty interesting: these are my favorite versions of Larval Metroids in the whole series, they are fast, drain your health super fast, are hard to shake off, don’t stay frozen for long and the area likes to pull pranks on you by having you drop in front of multiple Metroids at points. These guys feel genuinely dangerous and I love them for it
You know what? I actually don’t mind Mother Brain!
Listen, say what you will, all opinions are valid yadda yadda...but if you think the NES version of the fight is better you’re out of your goddamn mind XD
That fight lagged like a motherfucker and if you fell in the pit of lava in front of her you were almost guaranteed to be screwed
This fight doesn’t lag, you get more space to maneuver and Samus controls better. It’s still a bullet hell, but, especially with the Screw Attack allowing you to destroy her projectiles, it actually feels like you stand a consistent chance if you just pay attention! (Can’t say the same during low% runs though...)
I have only one issue with all of this though: difficulty inconsistency
Zero Mission has been an easy game up until now, where, between the Metroids, Mother Brain and the following stealth sequence, it suddenly jacks up the challange and it starts to feel like a different game
I like the challenge, but there’s absolutely no sense of gradual change whatsoever, the game just flips a switch and then suddenly you’re in hell until the game decides to go into easy mode again, with no in-between. I think this is the only game in the series to have this problem

Early concepts of episodes from Bounty Hunter's Steel edition artbook
I copied the text from that unboxing video. The old story seems a bit different and somewhat darker than the final version. For example, Ed's father was a criminal, and Vicious planned to kill Jet with the hands of his former co-worker. Toys in the Attic episode originally had "the floor is lava" idea with infected insects. Many concepts made it to the show but in another form.
#1 “Asteroid Blues”
Episode where Spike and Jet are introduced and play active roles.
The setting is Tijuana, a Mexico-like asteroid.
A bounty named Asimov stole and ran off with illegal eye drops, and now he’s on the run with his woman Katerina. Spike pursues them, but the effect of the eye drops makes things difficult. But at the same time, this proves fatal to Asimov.
#2 “Stray Dog Strut”
Confrontation with Hakim, a martial artist and serial pet thief bounty. Men from a secret animal research lab also show up.
A Martian Chinatown is the setting.
The dog he stole is actually a highly intelligent data dog.
#3 “Honky Tonk Women”
Faye’s introductory episode.
Suffering from money troubles, Spike and crew encounter Faye at a casino.
She’s a bounty, but she unexpectedly ends up running about with them.
The money card she stole from the casino is counterfeit electronic money. In the end, Faye runs off with the reward money for her own bounty.
#4 “Gateway Shuffle”
Faye blows through the money, then comes back. She tells Spike and Jet to let her join them, but she winds up getting in their way.
An episode about the terrorist Twinkle and her virus bomb.
A battle within a Gate (hyperspace). Twinkle disperses bombs at the Gate.
She’s an environmental protection terrorist, and she utilizes a virus that only harms humans.
#5 “Ballad of Fallen Angels”
A Vicious episode. It shows just a little of Spike’s past.
A bounty is placed on Mao, Spike’s teacher from his gangster days. But he’s already been killed, and it’s all a trap.
Spike is caught in the trap, and he and Vicious have a fateful confrontation.
#6 “Sympathy for the Devil”
Wen, a boy who plays the blues harp. His actual age is 58. Due to the effect of the Gate accident, he’s stopped aging and his body won’t die.
Spike and crew show up in pursuit of another bounty, Giraffe, but Giraffe gets killed. Then when Spike learns of Wen’s dreadful purpose, he gets shot.
#7 “An episode like The Wages of Fear” – mecha episode
#8 Waltz for Venus
A story in the Venusian desert.
Spike and crew capture some hijacker bounties.
That’s when Spike meets a punk named Roco, for whom he feels an odd sense of friendship. But there’s a bounty oh his head. He had stolen gems for the sake of his blind sister Stella.
#9 Jamming with Edward
Ed’s introductory episode. A hacker stroty. We see Earth for the first time.
A story about Domino, a man controlling an electronic religion from the shadows. Somewhat comedic.
The adherents have wound up as mummies (?).
#10 “Boogie Woogie Feng Shui”
A story about a Universal Feng Shui master.
A chance encounter leads Jet to accept a request from the girl Mei to search for the legendary Feng Shui master Jicca Pacca.
But he turns out to be Pao, Mei’s father who was supposedly dead.
#11 “Mushroom Samba” – comedy
The Bebop pursues a hit-and-run ship to a frontier asteroid. There, Ed and Ein get their hands on some mysterious mushrooms.
But when Spike and the others eat the mushrooms, they start acting funny.
On that world, a bounty named Chingensai was growing illegal mushrooms.
#12 “My Funny Valentine (Part 1)”
A story about the androgynous Gren, as well as Spike’s and Vicious’ past.
Information about Julia comes is. The Bebop crew splits up. Two stories progress simultaneously, and they become one at the end.
Faye meets Gren. But he has bounty on his head.
#13 “My Funny Valentine (Part 2)”
The conclusion of the previous story.
As a lead-in to the second half of the series, the artificial eye comes up.
There’s apparently some dreadful secret behind Spike’s one artificial eye.
#14 “Cosmic Gypsy Jive”
An episode about criminal support software. Incidents following the exact same pattern occur in various places. They’re crimes that use the same criminal support software.
The culprit who made the software is a 120-year-old man. But there’s a vital flaw in the software.
A story about a Kowloon Walled City in outer space – a spaceship graveyard.
#15 “Insect Stomp”
An onboard bug panic episode. A comedy where nobody can take a step outside.
A new kind of virus gets inside the ship by way of an insect. Spike and crew fight back, but it evolves again and again.
#16 “Ganymede Elegy”
An episode about a Ganymede fishing boat. The Bebop plays an active role as a kamikaze ship.
Jet meets up again with and old colleague. But having been threatened by Vicious, he attempts to kill Jet.
#17 “Monkey Business”
An episode about criminal brain surgeon Doctor Strange and bio-robot with its own consciousness. A mad scientist tale.
A biocomputer becomes neurotic. It’s a crazy episode.
#18 “An episode about a marriage swindler (Faye’s former lover)”
#19 “Daydream Believer”
An episode about vegetative boy hacker. Ed’s short-lived love.
An electronic religion episode.
In the end, she aids him by making someone else the culprit. Ed takes the bounty money and decides on her own to donate it anonymously.
A story where they go to access a planet that’s been digitized onto a hard drive.
#20 “Pierrot Le Fou”
An episode about a Tongpu, a clown-like assassin who comes after Spike.
A peculiar hard-boiled style. A battle in an outer space amusement park.
Surreal imagery. Ed gets lost.
#21 “Goodbye, Porkpie Hat”
An episode about the Titanic, a ghost ship in hyperspace. Faye reacts very sensitively to it. Her father went missing on the Titanic.
#22 “The man from Titan”
An episode about a criminal who’s a combat veteran. Has a Vietnam story feel to it. We learn that Vicious was a mercenary too.
#23 “An episode about the origins of Spike’s ship” – mecha episode
#24 “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”
An episode where they catch Ed’s father, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for shoplifting. (ex-thug)
This story is a bit touching. This is where Ed returns to Earth.
#25 “Shooting Star Bebop (Part 1)”
The secret of Spike’s artificial eye. The past and the present overlap.
Vicious murders the Red Dragon elders and becomes the boss.
Spike and crew receive bounties on their heads, Spike finally reunites with Julia. But she points a gun at him.
#26 “Shooting Star Bebop (Part 2)”
The continuation. Without telling anyone, Spike launches an attack on Red Dragon. Faye’s wavering heart. The final confrontation with Vicious. Spike defeats Vicious, but he too is wounded, and he ends up collapsing. And then…
The following are episodes that aren’t likely to make it in.
# “Murder in the Europa Mist”
# “Last Waltz”
An episode about Wong, a legendary old bounty hunter. He comes out of retirement for one last job - an unsolved case from twenty years ago.
#“Let It Bleed”
An episode about Piggy, a homicidal maniac who killed all the staff at a Neptune observatory, then disappeared.
Psychological thriller. A battle at an aquarium.
# “Shoot the Pro Bowler”
An episode where they go to a prison on Pluto. A former pro bowler turned criminal, Magic Bones. He was a bowling legend, but he got kicked out for rigging his games after betting on them.

I have something to say.
I found proof that Shadouge is actually canon!
First of all, I’m not a fan of Sonic, I’m a fan to my own beliefs. I used to put my mind on other people’s opinions about what they think is fair. Turns out, gullibility is what’s putting me under the state where listening to them is my only option. In reality, it never felt right for me. Right after I’ve overcame my gullibility related senses, I started to create my own beliefs and understanding of the world around me. When I set my ideas with this formula, I feel much more confident going my own ways with the thought that I can make choices for anything. However, there’s one thing I also set to make my understanding of my world be more supported, Limitations. Limitations are the top priority I needed to have in my life so I feel more comfortably confident when it comes to hearing other people’s opinions.
Now, personally I am a Shadouge shipper, and I do have a hunch about them.
You see, when I first looked at their first debut together in Sonic Adventure 2, the animation didn’t make me feel comfortable at first, but I push through, because I needed to get my analysis on the game. Then I realize, right after I looked at the Team Sonic story and then went into the Team Dark story, it was actually clear to me already, both stories were on the same timeline in the game.

When looking at Knuckles and Rouge’s interaction scenes in the Sonic story, I thought at first it was true, but I figured I haven’t got enough information from it because I didn’t look at the Dark story yet. Even if the scene where Knuckles saved Rouge in the end wasn’t that true to me yet, especially when people saw that first.
I continued to the Dark story, and then what happened Shocked me. That was when I discovered both stories were on the same timeline. When Rouge was stuck on Prison Island, where the bombs were about to go off, Shadow whooshes in to save her with Chaos Control. However, this happened a few hours before Knuckles saves her from falling into a pit of lava. And all of that led me to my last thought about who saved Rouge first. So, it… was… Shadow! Shadow was the first character to save Rouge’s life before Knuckles.
(You have to play both videos to compare the two stories and see the understanding of it.)
The best part of that, since Shadow saved her first, she locked eyes on him. And not just her eyes, but her heart, too. Shadow may have said she went in to save her because of the Chaos Emeralds, but Rouge thought he wasn’t telling the truth about it enough. She saw something inside him that shows he cares about her deeply:

the support of his thought about Maria.
I trusted her instincts on that, because I knew Shadow was already the first character to save her life.
Furthermore, I also have a feeling this game is really canon, by the way. When Shadow lost the super strength of his power, fell to the surface of the earth, everyone thought the fall to earth has already killed him, but I remember him stating in the beginning of the game “he is the ultimate lifeform.” Those prototypes are made to be immortal, indestructible, and they’d never age. So, hearing about his fall, the truth was… it never killed him. He fell unconscious into a long coma, until Eggman came in and carried him to his lab for medical treatment. When the Sonic Hero’s game came around, he finally arose from his slumber.

That means, he’s been alive this whole time.

I guess all the other identical Shadow prototypes sealed within another lab, my guess is that Dr. Eggman stole the blueprint to make an army of all the other identical Shadow the Hedgehog prototypes, but none of them were the real one. Both Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Hero’s stories are connected to each other.
All of that also got me thinking what choice I’ve made about it, I was right all along. So I am Proud to be a Shadow & Rouge shipper for all eternity in the Sonic Franchise!

❤️🔥🦔SHADOUGE FOREVER!!!!🦇❤️🔥
They’ve been inseparable ever since, as a pure couple, to me.
“Learning to trust other people and fictional character’s instincts is one valuable lesson you’d ever learn, regardless of them being fake or real. And a proper analysis with the realization of both stories being on the same timeline is a pretty great way to have your head wrapped around in, when it comes to those separate Sonic stories.

Video ID: Montage of Link receiving damage due to player error in various ways and other such mishaps, set to the tune of "It's the Hard Knock Life" from Annie (2014).
Link dives toward a body of water only to hit the water's edge headfirst.
He falls through the gap with the bridge he tried to make, but did not reach the other side completely.
A large boulder falls on him as he's operating a vehicle.
Link's structure to support Addison's sign rockets into the sky.
A cooking pot explodes in Link's face.
As Link readies a bomb arrow toward penetrable rock, a shock fruit falls from above to take the hit and catch Link in the explosion.
Link strikes fire emitters on a construct, and the fire turns back with the wind direction to light the wooden structure and Link with it.
A broken stone suspension bridge slaps Link while he paraglides over a stretch of lava.
Link steps directly into lava instead of the igneous stone slab as intended.
Link activates a hot air balloon build meant to ferry a puzzle ball upward. But the strike destroys the wooden platform of the build, and the balloons complete with fire emitters immediately rise.
A stray platform strikes Link as he paraglides to the end of a shrine.
A metal block hits Link instead of the puzzle button he's standing on.
Link leaps off a sky island only to hit a smaller one originally out of view.
Link strikes a fan to get a wooden vehicle moving, and accidentally destroys the integral lumber plank.
A Zonai device expires and vanishes, moving a cannon down in place that fires directly at Link.
End ID.
A 2017 classic updated for the new game.
