there's a huge bird in my house and i have NO idea how it got there but it desperately wants to get out but when i tried to open the back door for it it flew at me so i'm NOT dealing with that until my dad gets home bc if i get injured when he's not here my grandmother will just watch me bleed to death

I thought I worked today, so I fumbled a bro meetup aaaaaaa.
Culmination of the week I guess, but…
I did make it to the other store and stockpiled a bunch of the good noodles, some ingredients to make a really decadent stuffed shell, and found my favorite mom and pop liquor store is selling 1.5 L of cucumber vodka for like. Eight bucks. So it’s been…productive in a Calm Before The Storm kinda way.
#personal skuun#I get to sit in the quiet of my room running rain sounds in the background and the whirr of the fan#and it was kind of gratifying to try to combo of one egg toasted sesame and perilla oil on the momofuku tingly chili#like. I knew intellectually it’d probably work because Chang’s Korean but still…#I got some ground pork I’m gonna cook up later to make a topping for this kind of thing the next time I want it#and I have lemons and frozen tuna steaks…#I feel like I’m emotionally preparing to just Hole Up in here and rest#I think what I’ll do later is head down to the shop again and buy a few more bottles because that can carry me through the end of April#the sleeping’s already going shallow. and there’s that sense of impending Something’s Coming#probably a combination of the sounds of the neighbors working on the front of their house and the peacocks calling#I’ll probably pick up some green onions and see about sprouting them on my window again maybe#start up a batch of tarragon vinegar and infuse another gin…#weird stuff this whole Holding Your Breath for a thing that happened ages ago that your body’s convinced is coming again#it hasn’t quite hit that I can do things other than cooking again#I meant to spend some time today doing prep painting for my boxes but…this is fine too I guess?#aah I should do laundry today. maybe clean something. but…I’m enjoying the quiet

Ran an errand in town today and planned to do some shopping but decided, nah I only need milk so I got a couple of bits for lunch and evening meal instead.
I took my orange flowered shopping bag and noticed that a wasp - a rather BIG wasp, was hitching a ride on the top.
So I waited until I got off the bus and yeeted that bugger with a quick flick of my fingers. Because, if I'd tried to wave my arms and kill it, it would have sent out an alarm to its much bigger and meaner brothers.
And I don't want that, I merely relocated it to another location, a couple of feet away without touching it
#yeeted a wasp today#for the record i have a big fear of wasps and often freeze when i see a load of them#this time there was just the one and i read somewhere that its best to leave them well alone#i hated working in the laundry where the window HAD to be ledt open due to the heat in the room#there was a wasps nest close by and it was damned near scary seeing loadsnof them zoom into the laundry room

opal is so funni... cries and screams at my parents bedroom door and when u let her in she sits at the bottom of the bed and watches the open window (it HAS to be open) intently before crying about being cold (because the window is open) and begging to be let back into my room

#I’m not moving anytime soon#but I’m window shopping for a more stable time in the future#and Jesus H God#not one permanent place is without an HOA#they start at 150 and are usually more like 300#and I’m seeing places with 900 to a thousand a month#and I don’t care how nice your laundry room or gym facility is#or even in this last most egregious instance covering heat water and power#why the fuck is anyone paying more than the principal a month#in HOA fees

#me trying to plan shit to meet safety building regulations#my list of non negotiables keeps growing....#big on kitchen space (with drawers designed the same way as my mums kitchen) with MUST for space for my coffee machine#bifold door opposite living room space that opens to the yard#bifold window from the kitchen to go along with the side door#thats a must bc if i have people over and weve got dishes that we want to move to the kitchen? thats fine just pop through the window!#but also so i can open that up for the arvo breeze while im in the kitchen#i really want a bath and i think my plan of building that partially under the stairs leading up to one of the bedrooms is going to look cute#oh also TWO BEDROOMS#one loft style one and one enclosed one#so if i ever decide i need a change for space where i sleep i can just? swap rooms?#the other room would double as storage space for my large containers and maybe as an office space if i ever needed that#i guess either the bathroom combined with space for a washing machine OR a lil hidden laundry#i like the idea of a hidden laundry bc then i can fit in a back door of sorts#to both be a second exit in case of a fire but to also be the joining doorway for when id eventually extend the house#it would happen eventually i know#this is SOOOOO ON MY BRAIN

#the first girl was driving a fiat 500 and she should not have been having as much trouble as she was#the next couple were driving SUVs and the spots were small so like. i get it.#nobody had a wreck so like good game everybody#doctor: u need to excersize for Legit Reasons. Me (mad about it): Ok I Will Walk. I SUPPOSE.#doctor: OK but like. Do 4x as much of that. and Faster.#anyway i ran a mile for the first time in like a decade yesterday.#the good news is that i could in fact run a mile. the bad news is that it was a 12 minute mile.#also i feel like to call it a ''gym'' is perhaps overstating the situation. it's like an excersize room from a hotel circa 1998#also there was no ac. like. there was a window unit but i am 90% sure that it is there for the placebo effect and doesnt actually work#they put central air into the aparment units in 2015 why they didnt do the gym then? like the laundry room i get it i guess but the gym??#*correction they put the central air in 2018 but im not gonna retype the tag about it
