All I wanted growing up was to get away from my parents
All I can remember wanting
That was the problem, they were the problem
If I left I would be happy,
I would be healed
But now I've done it
In a different house
In a different city
I feel nothing
Nothings changed
I'm still as broken
As dirty
As ruined
As I was to begin with
-by me lmao
Hope someone gets me, everyone I know thinks I'm way better now especially as its been a few years since I started living alone but it's pretty much the same, those voices that taunted me are now just in my head

RE Men as Hozier songs
NFWMB - leon kennedy
he's always been very protective over you, keeping an arm around you in crowds, walking you home from late shifts at work, and standing up to catcallers, but after his trip to spain he comes back wanting to kill anyone who even dares to look at you the wrong way. being away for so long and having such a traumatic experience drives him closer to you. he's more loving, affectionate, and always tells you to be safe before you leave. it's the small things that let you know how much that mission changed him. he's lost so much already, the last thing he wants to lose is the love of his life.
it will come back - chris redfield
he's dark, looming, powerful, and passionate. everything about this song screams chris. he wouldn't want to get too attached, afraid that he'll lose you, but those feelings always come back. and no matter how often he tries to warn you about the dangers of his work, you always seem to get the better of him. you give him the softest of looks and he melts, crawling into bed with you. you truly make him loose his self control. everyone he works with sees the hardened, heartless version of chris, but you get the more domestic side of him. the one who cooks you breakfast and dinner, the one who has been begging you to go with him to adopt a dog, the one who cradles your face and tells you how much he loves you.
the beat of jackie and wilson, but actually like real people do - carlos oliveria
he's more light-hearted, fun-loving, and tough. ever the optimist, he wants to see the good in others and believes that the two of you could have a good life even despite his line of work. you're his savior, you keep him grounded and make him feel safe. he idealizes you, worships the ground you walk on, because when he feels lost in his own mind you bring back round. most of all, you make him feel like a normal guy. he's not some big scary merc around you, he's your boyfriend who makes you pancakes in the morning and probably likes to go hiking.

So, I know people are really desperate for Sandra Lynn to have hooked up with Pamela Dawn instead of Bobby Dawn, and I completely understand that!* Bobby Dawn is slimy and awful and we don't know much about Pamela, so maybe she's better? But it is 100% Bobby Dawn for two very clear reasons:
Sklonda literally said it was him
Bobby Dawn has always been a predator
The first thing we learn about Sandra Lynn's affair during Spring Break Sophomore Year was that she had just left Aguefort (she dropped out her senior year and got a diploma later on) and she was very young. She was asked to join an established adventuring party of people who were older than her and that had lost one of its members. She fell in love with another member of the party that was already in a relationship, they had an affair, and then when the affair was discovered, Sandra Lynn was blamed, kicked out of the party, and her name was smeared as far and wide as possible by the person who had taken advantage of her so that person could absolve themselves, likely in the eyes of their partner and the party.
So what we can immediately deduce from this is that Sandra Lynn was an outsider to her new adventuring party, likely looked down on as "just a kid", maybe disdained for being a dropout, and most definitely resented for taking the place of the (presumably) dead party member. She was in actively dangerous and stressful situations while questing with the party and she probably had little support from the group during that time.
Sandra Lynn was very very vulnerable.
When he met Sandra Lynn, Bobby Dawn would have been about 20 years younger than he is now, likely in his late 30s/early 40s.** Probably still handsome, still a "dashing" active adventurer. He was married to Pamela already (not just in an established relationship), since he had a child by then that was close to grown and I don't think the Church of Sol would be very happy about a child out of wedlock. He would have been a cleric of Sol and probably still preaching "the good word of Sol" but it likely wouldn't have been constant. You can't give sermons while fighting monsters. I'm sure he even saved Sandra Lynn's life a few times!
The thing about Bobby Dawn being a televangelist now, but not then, is that when he was young, he was probably just as good at persuasion, at finding vulnerable people and exploiting their weaknesses to get what he wanted, and yet he hadn't made a name for himself as a televangelist, so people wouldn't know to be wary of him trying to convert or manipulate them.
The scene between Bobby and Kristen, when Kristen is pretending that Cassandra died shows exactly what kind of terrible person Bobby really is. He is happy to find Kristen devastated, that she is having "a real dark night of the soul" and needs guidance. He refuses to help Kristen stay at Aguefort (something that's within his power), despite knowing how beneficial that would be to her well-being, because that goes against his own goals. He is smug and condescending and cruel. He is preying on Kristen's devastation and vulnerability (not knowing it's an act), to draw her back into the fold of the Church of Helio/Sol.
The person who did that to Kristen, is the exact same person who took advantage of Sandra Lynn when she was still basically a kid, just out of high school. He took advantage of her feelings for him, her inexperience and isolation. And then, when they were discovered, he threw her away and made her the villain so he could get away with it.
He ruined Sandra Lynn's life. Yes, she's happy now with her daughter, her partner, and the beautiful home they've made at Mordred Manor with Adaine, Kristen, Lydia, Ragh, Tracker, Zayn, Aelwyn, Boggy, and 15 cats. But Sandra Lynn ended up with self-esteem and relationship issues that she is still dealing with to this day. Those issues ruined her marriage, could have ruined her relationship with Jawbone, and likely played a hand in the difficulties between her and Fig in Freshman Year, as Sandra Lynn saw her daughter take her first steps into the world of adventuring.
Because Sandra Lynn first wanted to be an adventurer and Bobby Dawn took that away from her, just like he tried to do to Kristen.
Bobby Dawn has shaped his career as a high priest of Sol and as a televangelist by portraying himself as the epitome of righteousness. He is rotten to the core, a predator in a job where he is meant to help people, and I CANNOT WAIT to see the Bad Kids take him down.
*I don't really understand it. Pamela Dawn is likely just as bad as Bobby. She's the chief paladin of the church of Sol, her husband is a televangelist and a High Priest of Sol, and she would have been around the same age as Bobby and having an affair with a vulnerable young girl who she then kicked out of the group and slandered. It being Pamela would still be awful!
**Even with the assumption that both Bobby Dawn and his child had their kids at a young age, the math still has to take into account that Sandra Lynn's daughter is the same age as Bobby Dawn's GRANDSON.

that finale made me so emotional. i cried at all of their scenes in Ankarna's realm. anyway, here's some bad kids senior year head canons.
Kristen: Her wish for a sister is filled by Bucky, crying in her room late at night and praying together. After talking to Jawbone they learn that there are grounds to remove Bricker and Cork from their parents' home. Kristen is the only one given the option of emancipation--instead, she asks Jawbone to adopt her as well.
She falls back onto old patterns with Tracker. But they're a little older and wiser, so they see it happening and take a step back. Not a break up, but a readjustment. With her academics finally not reliant on deadlines, Kristen dedicates herself to her pantheon. They work with Lucy to bring Ruvina back to her sister, and Kristen finds herself in awe of the dedication she sees.
Fig: She puts all her time into the Bottomless Pit, something it desperately needs. Often she tells Sandra-Lynn she's sleeping at Gilear's, and vice versa, and stays with Ayda instead. On her 18th birthday her parents sit her down and explain that she can live with Ayda officially, if she wants to. Just as long as she remembers she'll always have a room with both of them.
She brings Sandra-Lynn on Complicated Women, first to interview, and then as a permanent guest host. They talk about womanhood as something living and changing and queer and complicated. It's her mom who encourages her when Lola Embers drops Ruben. They rally all the rock-hating souls and cordon off part of the recording studio. Fig never goes in there, but from what she's heard, his music has gotten better in the absence of Kipperlilly's judgement.
Fabian: Somehow, he ends up being the one to train the new dog. The Hangman is jealous to a ridiculous degree, so he spends a lot of time managing that. He starts looking into a sea-worthy vessel for after graduation, spends hours at the Compass Points Library learning how to navigate. Learning sea shanties is part of all that, of course, and has nothing to do with the way his baby sibling stares at him while he practices.
Mazey teaches dance to kids while he finishes school. She's so kind it almost hurts, and Fabian has no choice but to learn to accept love. He "lets" Gorgug skip Bloodrush under the condition of weekly movie nights, which only sometimes are expanded to the rest of the Bad Kids. The radio in his room crackle to life sometimes, with little messages from Bill when he's close enough to the material plane.
Riz: Appointed as vice president, he quits all but the AV club. He makes a bedtime pact with Sklonda, and for the first time in a very long time, they are both getting enough sleep. Someone mentions ace and aro identities to him, and he's awake enough for it click.
He finds a new scholarship for Aguefort students, and it looks scam-y so he does some investigating. It easily traces right back to Seacaster gold and Fabian. He's thankful for the cover and accepts the money with an understanding that they won't talk about it. He doesn't check, but the scholarship is offered every year after that.
Adaine: She spends the summer with Aelwyn tracking down their mom. She doesn't need revenge, but she needs to know her mom will never hurt anyone ever again. She feels Ankarna in the hot sun and wonders if that's the difference between revenge and justice. They take the long way back to Solace, the Hand-van paddling across the ocean.
When school starts, she works with Kristen to turn her inheritance into resources. Student who can pay for some of their components still do, but everyone gets what they need to learn. On the first day of class, she's asked about her summer prophecies, and tells off Tiberia for relying on her for lessons.
Gorgug: His senior year MCAT is signed on the first day by Lydia, who's teaching barbarian classes for the year. She gives him permission for independent study, and Henry gives him a shop key so he can do classwork whenever he wants. The rest of his time is spent perfecting Barbificer skills and creating a program to run at Aguefort the next year.
Mary Ann offers her quokky pet skills to help remodel his homonculous. The result is much cuter and more functional than before. She still names her highest level pet Cloaca in honor of the original, much to Gorgug's chagrin.
After graduation, the Bad Kids move in trios and pairs, and they always reconvene on the Summer Solstice, the anniversary of Ankarna's resurrection.
Kristen splits her time between Solace and Fallinel and Mountains of Chaos, the places where temples to her pantheon stand. Adaine and Riz rent an apartment in Bastion City, where they both continue school. Gorgug stays in Elmville, teaching at Aguefort and working on the side to start his own school. Fabian takes to the sea, bringing Fig and Ayda and Mazey with him.
They save the world again, a few times, but only when they want to.

A closeted trans girl moves to Gotham City to make it big as a comedian by joining the cast of UCB Live – a government-sanctioned late night sketch show in a world where comedy has been outlawed. As mainstream success eludes our heroine, leading her to unite with a ragtag team of rejects, misfits, and a certain love interest named Mister J, "Joker the Harlequin" is born again as a confident (and psychotic) joker on a collision course with the city’s fascist caped crusader. Vats of feminizing chemicals, sexy cartoon interludes, scarecrow psychiatrists, CGI Lorne Michaels, and psychedelic gender dysphoria all play supporting roles.
Pre-order The People's Joker.

just RE4R leon kennedy giving you his coat when it's rainy. he hates the rain, vehemently, but he sees you shivering and is like "lemme make this smooth move" cause he's such a fucking dork. he totally slides it over your shoulders and, like, pulls you in for a little hug. prolly kisses your forehead or something. he's just such a sweet heart. especially with how he's portrayed in the remake towards ashley, they made him so kind.

lynne’s notez 🗒️ : another consistent post .. who am i
Tumblr media
something about you gets under park sunghoon’s skin. normally, he’s calm and collected, but whenever you enter the room it’s like you make it your life’s goal to annoy him to ends meet. you’re constantly poking at him and making small remarks about the way he pushes his hair back or the way his handwriting wasn’t perfect.
“why’s your jacket unbuttoned? tryna impress someone, park?” you’d say, drawing his name out. and he’d intentionally roll his eyes, making sure you saw it. while thinking of a snotty comeback, sunghoon would slyly button up his jacket (the unbuttoned thing was suggested by niki, why sunghoon took the younger’s advice is beyond him). maybe he was upset because you were right or the fact that the person who he was trying to impress didn’t give him a second glance. either way, park sunghoon wasn’t very happy that day.
and of course, you were the one person he bumped into while being late to school. sunghoon had decided that maybe he’d treat himself to some coffee before his classes, but the new barista was very clumsy and had to remake his favorite drink twice! so much that it didn’t even taste like his favorite drink anymore.
while turning the last corner to school, you just had to be in the way. it was almost like the heavens above were punishing him for skipping that one skating practice in eighth grade.
when the two of you collide, sunghoon’s drink goes flying from his hands and because the new barista doesn’t know how to put on the top properly, the contents of his iced mocha land across your white button-up and it immediately soaks through the light material.
“park! are you serious!” you yell suddenly, your hands flying up in frustration. you were already having the worst day. firstly, your alarm was set to 7pm instead of 7am and all of your school blazers had not been done drying since you put them in the washing machine last night. on top of all this you just had to run to into park sunghoon and his stupid iced mocha.
the coffee stains your shirt and you can feel it bleed through the thin fabric, leaving a big black mark across your chest and the unmistakable smell of strong coffee mixing with your perfume. you swear under your breath, reaching up to try and wipe it off with no luck.
you spot a hose attached to the side of a local fish shop, you were sure the owner wouldn’t mind if you used it. without a second thought, you walk over and detach the hose and grab a bucket from the stack nearby (hopefully it hadn’t been filled with fishes beforehand).
sunghoon watches you dumbly as you continue to fill up the bucket. “what are you doing?” he asks and walks over to you to get a closer look. you’ve already pulled your hair to the side as you hand him the bucket.
“you want me to do the ice bucket challenge on you?” sunghoon’s eyes widen at the odd request and you want to strangle him. this was no time for jokes.
“are you an idiot? just pour a little on my shirt to get the stain out. i can’t show up to class an hour late and dirty clothes.” you say irritatingly. you tug on the shirt to get it as far from your skin as possible and pray sunghoon doesn’t get any water on your pants.
“doesn’t this need soap?” sunghoon hesitantly raises the bucket up. although he might hate your guts, dowsing you in fish shop water didn’t seem the most appropriate way to go about this.
“just do it.”
“okay nike,” sunghoon gently pours the water over the stain, careful to not let too much spill out. the more he pours, the more he realizes how close the two of you are and how your shirt seems to become more and more transparent.
your shirt is practically see-through and sunghoon really does try to polite about it without spilling water all over you, but it’s quite hard to contain the water without properly looking at you. there’s a pink that dusts his cheeks and he can’t help but want to bang his head onto a wall.
deciding he’s had enough, sunghoon abruptly drops the bucket to the floor and starts to shrug off his own blazer. he was a gentleman, of course. “wear this.” is all he says, dropping it into your hands.
you eye him suspiciously but take it any way with a small nod of thanks. “this is all your fault yknow?” you say, buttoning his blazer up. it was a bigger than your own, but you should be able to still get away with it at school.
“my fault?” sunghoon says in disbelief. he can’t believe he just gave you his blazer (which he might get written up for for not having) just for you to say that. “it’s not my fault you have a shit sense of direction.” he defends himself surely.
“whatever you say, park.” the nickname rolls off your tongue smoothly and the more you use it, the sweeter it sounds to sunghoon. once you finish putting on the blazer, you reach for your previously discarded backpack, but sunghoon beats you to it.
“what are you doing?” you throw him a confused look as he pulls the straps of your bag over his shoulder.
“it’s the least i could do, i mean it’s my fault, right?” a boyish grin tugs at sunghoon’s lips and he starts walking ahead, forcing you to catch up.
you aren’t sure if it’s his teasing tone, his rolled up sleeves exposing his arms or his stupid smile, but you begin to see sunghoon in a different light.

Music and the Muse
Disclaimer: hey yall! This is a story I’ve had on my mind while ive been on my trip, and I just had to write it out. It’s a bit different than my usual one shots, but I just thought this was so cute. Please enjoy!
Summary: Ford goes to Greasy’s Diner one night for some dinner and meets a gorgeous singer
Ford Pines was exceptionally hungry after a long day of researching the oddities that seemed to be in abundance in the town of Gravity Falls, Oregon. However, with no culinary skills whatsoever and no canned goods to be seen in his house, he decided to head to Greasy’s Diner for some late-night breakfast food. What he didn’t know is that every Friday night, a beautiful woman had been serenading the patrons of this cozy restaurant.
He walked in and found a seat at the bar where he ordered a cup of coffee and a plate of eggs with toast. He was so focused on eating that he didn’t notice the woman that appeared at the front of the diner. You were holding an acoustic guitar and had placed a microphone stand in front of you.
“Hello Greasy’s Diner! How are we doing tonight?” you asked the audience with a smile on your face. The few people that were there grunted in response. “Great! So glad to hear that,” you responded, enthusiasm unwavering. “So tonight, I’m going to start off with ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’ by the lovely Ms. Loretta Lynn. If you know it, sing along!” You began to strum on your guitar, finally gaining Ford’s attention.
He looked up from scarfing down his food to see a vision. You wore bell-bottoms and a flowing blouse and had the voice of an angel. While the rest of the diner seemed to not be paying attention, Ford couldn’t help but be enchanted. He always struggled with just looking women in the eyes, but he couldn’t take his off you. The way you swayed back and forth, the way your hands moved along the strings of the guitar, and the way he could tell you were smiling while you sang without even having to look at you had him beyond smitten. He sat his elbow up on the bar and used his hand to prop his head up. He knew he had the goofiest smile on his face looking at you and hearing your melodic singing.
Your eyes were raking the room hoping to see at least one person who was interested in your singing. You locked eyes with a gentleman in a sweater vest and button-up. He looked out of place among the other patrons of the diner. He looked scholarly; he definitely wasn’t from around here. He had fluffy, brown hair and glasses, and the way he was gazing at you made you have butterflies. You continued singing but sent a wink his way. The man’s head perked up from his hand and rubbed behind his neck.
You made Ford Pines, certified genius, flustered; you just didn’t know it yet. Ford knew he had to talk to you, but he was so intimidated. You were confident, which was something he wasn’t. Eventually, time had passed, several more songs had been sung, and it was closing time for Greasy’s. The last person that was there besides you and Ford had walked out the door. It was now just you and him.
“Have a goodnight, sir!” you called after the man. You had started putting your guitar back in your case. Ford knew that if he didn’t make a move now, he might never have another chance. He got up and began to approach you. Your back was to him, and you were humming a country song he couldn’t remember the name of.
Ford cleared his throat to get your attention. Your body tensed as you let out a yelp. When you turned to face him with your hand on your chest, you chuckled. “Bout gave me a heart attack!” you exclaimed.
His face was red as he stammered out an apology. “I-I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to do that.” He had a nice deep voice and kind eyes. You reached out and squeezed his arm to reassure him. He looked down at your hand as if he couldn’t believe you had touched him. You let your hand drop to your side so as not to make him uncomfortable. Little did you know, he was thinking about your hands all over him.
“No worries,” you replied with a grin. “So, what can I help you with, stranger?”
“Ah, well…” Ford trailed off. He didn’t think he would get this far. “I just really enjoyed your singing, and I wanted to let you know.”
You gave him a wide smile. “That’s so sweet! That means a lot to me. I’ve been doing this on the side every Friday to make some extra money. I’ve never seen you before, though. Are you new to town?”
Ford wasn’t necessarily new to town, but he also didn’t want to tell you that he was holed up in his house with his studies all the time. He never went out in public unless he absolutely had to. “Yes, I am. I, uh, am here studying…wildlife.”
“That’s so neat! I love nature. What kind of wildlife are you studying?” You were genuinely interested in what he had to say about Gravity Falls. He wasn’t used to people wanting to hear what he had to say.
“It’s a little hard to explain. Do you know what anomalies are?” Ford was trying to contain how excited he was by fiddling with the loose thread at the end of his sleeve.
“I do, but I wouldn’t mind hearing you explain it to me,” you answered, picking up your guitar case. “Let’s get out of here before we get beaten with the broom, though. My truck is out front. We can sit on my tailgate if you’d like,” you suggested.
Ford was grinning like an idiot. “Sure. I would love that.”
“Great. Also, I really like your hair. I noticed it earlier; it looks good on you!” you complimented him. You meant every word of it, too. You tried not to let your nerves show, but you thought he was the cutest thing you had ever seen.
Ford’s face had turned crimson. “Oh gosh, well thank you. You’re too kind.” He felt like he was floating. First a girl wanted to see his research, and NOW she likes his hair. This felt unreal. As you two walked towards the exit, Ford opened the door for you.
“Why thank you, kind sir,” you said in a fake posh accent. “What a gentleman.”
Ford laughed. “Of course, madam.” He followed you out to your truck. It was a hunk of junk, but it got you to and from, and that’s all that mattered to you. You pulled the lever on your tailgate door and pulled it down. You climbed onto the truck and placed your guitar on the flatbed. You found a seat on the cool metal of the tailgate and let your legs dangle. You patted beside you beckoning for Ford to sit down.
He hopped onto the tailgate and pulled a small notebook out of his pocket. “So, this isn’t my official research because I don’t have my journal with me, but this is a little sketchbook I have.” He opened it up to reveal detailed illustrations of creatures you had never seen before.
You gasped in amazement. “Did you draw these?” you asked wondrously.
“I did. Do you, uh, like them?” You were the first person he had shown his drawings to.
“Like them? I love them! You found these in Gravity Falls?” Ford’s eyes lit up and he pushed his glasses up onto his nose. He began to tell of his adventures and all he had learned since he had been here. You were entranced by his stories and his passion for oddities, and you believed every bit of it. You have seen some strange things since moving here, but not like he had. You could have listened to him till your hair turned gray. It was like he was a shaken-up soda can exploding carbonation everywhere. You continued to listen intently to him until you noticed his hands.
“Wait,” you interrupted him. “I apologize if this sounds rude, but do you have an extra finger?” Ford looked down bashfully at his hands.
“Yes, unfortunately. Been made fun of it my whole life,” he responded sadly.
“Oh, no,” you murmured. “I think it’s beautiful.” You began to trace your fingers along his hands. They were big and he had calloused fingers. It looked like his extra digit fit right in.
“T-thank you. No one has ever told me that,” he said softly.
“Well, it’s true.” You looked into his eyes, and it seemed that tears were on the brink of falling. You wanted to change the subject.
“Hey, you know how you thought that Gravity Falls was kind of a magnet for weirdness? I think you’re right. Can I show you my birthmark? It’s on my back.”
Ford’s head tilted slightly to the side. “Are you sure? You don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
“I want to. I promise.”
Ford nodded his head. You shifted so your back was facing him and lifted your shirt exposing the discolored lightning bolt like marks that covered your skin. They were all over your body, and it was something you had always been insecure about.
“Oh my,” he mumbled. “May I touch them?”
You blushed. “Yeah sure.” His fingertips began grazing your back gently, following each line on your body. You felt so at ease showing him. You felt no judgement at all. You heard him whisper “extraordinary” under his breath which made you smile to yourself.
“Are these lines everywhere?" he asked, scribbling in his notebook.
“They are all over my torso, chest, and parts of my arms.” What you said next, you said without thought, and you yourself couldn’t belief you had the guts to suggest this. “Would you like to draw me?”
You heard the scratching of his pencil stop, and you turned your neck to look at him. His mouth was slightly agape, and his eyes were wide.
“I uh…uh…” he stuttered.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
“No- I mean, I would be honored to. I have never seen a skin condition such as yours. I just don’t want to cross any boundaries.”
You smiled. “Trust me, I don’t mind.” You pulled your shirt over your head leaving you in just your bra and blue jeans. The lightning bolt like marks spread over your body like vines. Ford exhaled sharply as he looked at you. He had never even touched a girl, let alone seen her topless. His heart rate began to pick up.
“You’re…magnificent,” Ford breathed. The way the moonlight shined on your skin and your hair flowed around your head made you look like a goddess.
Your face grew even more red. “Thank you.” There was a pause as his eyes drank you in. “Is this an okay pose?”
Ford nodded eagerly. “Yes, perfect.” He began to get to work sketching your body. He wanted to get every curve, every line, and every spot that covered you. In his head, you were the epitome of beauty. You felt utterly worshipped by this man you had just met. It was an indescribable feeling. You didn’t feel like an object; you felt like art.
“Could you turn over, please? I would like to get your back as well.”
You grinned and obliged. You rolled over and laid your head on your arms as he started his sketching again. After a couple of minutes, he was finally done. You had dozed off and he was tapping your shoulder to wake you up.
“I’m finished. Would you like to see?” he whispered. His low voice sent a shiver down your spine. You sat up, and Ford adverted his eyes to not look at your cleavage. You thought this was adorable considering you were literally shirtless, but he still wanted to remain respectful.
You looked at the drawings, and you were speechless. These drawings had made you see yourself in a way that you never had before. You looked gorgeous.
“I’m sorry if you don’t like them I-‘’ You cut him off by planting your lips on his. You don’t know what took over you, but you knew you didn’t want this to end. His lips were soft and unsure. Your hands were on either side of his face as his hands settled on the clothed part of your hips. He sighed into your mouth contently before you broke the embrace.
“Was that okay?” you asked in a ragged breath. “I’m sorry if that wasn’t okay, I don’t-“ This time he interrupted you with a kiss. He was more sure of himself now with one hand on your exposed waist and the other snaking it’s way into your hair.
“It was more than okay.”
You giggled at him. “So… I guess now is a good time to ask for your name.”
“I would say so,” he laughed his hand reaching out to you. “My name is Ford Pines.”
You shook his hand. “And I am Y/N Y/L/N. Nice to meet you.”

Andy let out a big yawn as he leant back in his chair and raised his arms above his head to stretch out his back. He glanced at his watch to see it was almost lunch time yet it felt like 5 pm. He’d stayed up late last night to work through the evidence for this case, something he was slightly regretting now. But if it meant the victim got the justice they deserved then a little lack of sleep would be worth it, he’d sleep when it was over.
He grabbed his mug from the desk taking a large sip of his coffee which he may as well just pump straight into his veins at this point when there was a knock at his door. “Come in” he called out as he set his mug back down.
Lynn, his boss walked in holding a folder “I’m guessing you didn’t get much sleep last night?” she said knowingly, brow ached.
Andy gave her a lop-sided smile “Sleep is for the weak, what can I do for you? Is that another case?” he asked nodding to the file.
“No, I’m just here to let you know the new ADA will be joining you on this case, it’s gathering more and more media attention so I want my best team on it and I don’t want you working yourself to death on it” Lynn explained with a knowing look.
Andy arched a brow in confusion, he didn’t realise they were looking for another ADA, let alone hired one “new ADA?”
Lynn nodded “Just transferred from New York, they’re very good with a record that rivals yours”
Andy hummed “Well that’s good but I don’t need the help on this case, I’ve got it covered,” he said with a shake of his head.
“This wasn’t a request” Lynn said as someone else knocked on Andy’s door “That’s her” Lynn moved back towards the door before Andy could protest.
Any protests he did have though died in his throat when he saw exactly who the new ADA was. It was like seeing a ghost and falling back into a time wormhole all at the same time.
“Y/N,” he said before he even realised he was speaking, shooting up from his seat like he’d been electrocuted nearly knocking over his coffee.
“Andy, long time no see” You smiled warmly back at him.
Andy grinned back at you as he stepped out from behind his desk to walk over to you. He instinctively went to hug you but it had been over a decade since he’d seen you which made him hesitate.
He stopped just short of you instead and pushed his hands into his pockets to stop himself from reaching out  “You could say that again”
“You two know each other?” Lynn asked, brow arched.
“We went to law school together” you explained, still smiling at Andy, not looking back at Lynn.
“Yeah Y/N was my only competition for the top of the class” Andy smirked unable to take his eyes off you.
“There was no real competition though” you chuckled with a knowing look up at Andy.
“I guess that’s why you ended up being a big shot lawyer in New York” Andy grinned.
Andy couldn’t believe you were here. When you parted ways at the end of law school he didn’t expect to ever run into you again and it killed him. You had been his best friend, he honestly didn’t think he’d gotten through law school if it wasn’t for you. You pushed each other to do better, creating a healthy competition which neither of you cared about winning.
After spending so much time together it was only natural that Andy developed feelings for you but law school was so intense that you’d both said that dating anyone would be a dangerous distraction. So Andy kept his feelings hidden and buried in the hopes that once you graduated he could confess his feelings.
Fate was a cruel thing though as when you graduated you landed a big job in New York while Andy decided to stay in Boston. Andy had selfishly wanted to ask you to stay but he knew he couldn’t let you pass up this opportunity for just him. So he once again buried his feelings and let you go.
The relationship he wanted with you remained in his mind. Over the years he tried to move on, he had partners but none of them captured his heart like you did. They were doomed from the start. Every time he thought he was over you, your name would appear on the news after winning another major case and he’d slip back into that maze that was his mental relationship with you. He wasn’t ashamed to admit that on his loneliest nights, he would often picture himself with you, his desire crashing over him like waves.
When it came to you, he was guilty as sin.
“Well I’ll let you catch Y/N up on the case once you two finish catching up,” Lynn said with a pointed look “I hope this means no one will be staying up late on this case anymore”
You shrugged your shoulders “Sleep is for the weak”
Lynn rolled her eyes as she walked out muttering “I’ve got two of them now”
Both you and Andy laughed “Let me get you caught up” Andy said gesturing for you to take a seat.

Despite Lynn’s wishes you and Andy did end up working into the evenings together. But it was mostly because you were spending too much time catching up and acting like it was old times again. Currently, you were at Andy’s house pouring over the evidence while dining out on Chinese takeout.
“So how come you decided to come back here? Getting too famous in New York?” Andy smirked as he dug through his chow mein.
You snorted leaning back in your chair, you shook your head “No… I mean was I well known? Maybe” you smirked  “But that wasn’t the reason” Andy arched a brow in silent question “I wanted to become a lawyer to get the little guys justice, help victims, but in New York, I just ended up doing loads of fraud and corporate based crimes” you explained “I mean it felt good to take down these big rich guys who thought they were untouchable but it didn’t feel like I was actually helping the little guy” you sighed “I asked my boss for those sort of jobs but he said I was better suited to these corporate cases and I should leave the other cases to those who wouldn’t get emotionally invested AKA the men”
Andy frowned “That’s bullshit” he said, he didn’t even know who your old boss was but the anger he felt made him want to hunt him down and give him a piece of his mind.
You shrugged “Yeah so I handed in my notice and looked to transfer back here” you said with a small lopsided smile.
Andy pursed his lips, ever since you walked back into his life he wondered why you had chosen to come back. He hoped that he was at least part of the reason. He’d put off asking you for so long that it was impossible not to ask now.
He plastered a smirk onto his face “Did you miss me?”
You chuckled quietly “I did actually” you admitted before taking a deep breath “It kinda felt like this was the place I needed to come back to”
Andy nodded, looking down at his food to hide the hope that was blossoming on his face “Well this place is definitely better with you in it”
You snorted shaking your head “Nah I bet you found someone else to compete with” you smirked.
Andy shook his head “There’s Neil, stay away from him by the way” he pointed over to you with his chopsticks “but he’s pretty lousy competition, even after I taught him everything I knew”
You chuckled “Noted,” you said before pausing for a moment “but there’s no one else? No… Mrs Barber to be that you’ve yet to introduce me to”
Andy shook his head “Nope, just me myself and I” he told you.
You arched a brow “I’m surprised. I thought you’d have girls fawning over you once law school was over” you admitted.
Andy gave you a bashful smile “No, I mean I’ve dated but nothing that’s stuck… guess I’ve been holding out for something, someone else” Andy admitted quietly hoping you didn’t pick up on the hidden meaning.
You just nodded understandingly “it’s been the same for me, except the thing I’m holding out for has only ever happened in my head”
Andy’s brows pinched together “What do you mean?” he asked.
You let out a long sigh as you put your container back down on the table and cleared your throat “Well this confession wasn’t one I was planning to make before drinking copious amounts of alcohol but I guess there’s no time like the present” you sighed “I had a massive crush on you in law school and I was kinda hoping that once we graduated that something would happen”
Andy blinked in surprise, his lips parted as he took in that information and tried to make sense of it “But- but when you got the job offer you said there was nothing keeping you in Boston” Andy recalled.
It was a painful memory that he wished he could forget but never could. He regularly went back and wondered what he could have said differently to change your mind only to decide that he didn’t want to change your mind.
You huffed quietly “I think I was just protecting myself by lying… and part of me, well part of me hoped that you’d say you were a reason to stay” you admitted.
Andy sat back in his chair in shock. You had wanted him to say what he’d wanted to say. All of this time you both wanted the same thing and neither of you was brave enough to say it.
“I wanted to” he admitted quietly.
Your brows rose slightly in surprise “You did? Your voice was full of disbelief “Why didn’t you?”
Andy sighed “Because I didn’t want to be the reason you missed out on a great opportunity, I didn’t want to you regret it years down the line and hate me for it”
“My only regret is not having you” you said quietly.
Andy put his food down as he stood up from his chair and walked around the table to crouch down next to you “Well… you can have me now if you still want me because I’ve been in love with you ever since you wiped the floor with me first week of law school” he smirked.
You laughed as you recalled that day “I promise my flirting technique has improved since then”
Andy laughed and shook his wondering how on earth you both were so blind all this time “So do you want me?” he asked.
You nibbled your lower lip and nodded your head “I’ve always wanted you Barber”
Andy grinned as he cupped your cheek and kissed you deeply and passionately to make up for all the years wasted. Still not quite believing how the one who got away became the one who almost got away.

Kiss me slowly
Pairing: Astarion x Genderfluid oc (Lynn)
summary: sometimes realization hits when you least expect it.
Taglist: @sessils @spacebarbarianweird
Tumblr media
There was a difference between the kisses Astarion and Lynn shared up to that day, and real kisses, and it was the emotions, or rather, it seemed the emotions were one sided. Not that Astarion wasn’t infatuated with Lynn, but mostly he tried to hide it, both from himself and the other, aware that the moment he’d tear down that wall, he’d be barer to the changeling, which scared him to death.
It was late night when the two decided to take a bath, the exhausting day had made it unbearable to sleep without taking a moment to clean away the blood.
They couldn’t even share a word as they soaked, the cicadas the only silence in the night. Despite the silence, the two still sat close to each other, their shoulders brushing close as the still water rocked them.
“Moon” Lynn was the one to break the silence as he stared at the night sky, focusing on the delicate light it projected on the two as if they were actor on scene.
“Mh?” Astarion raised his eyes to the changeling, turning his head and taking a moment to stare at the other. The moonlight paled compared to his pearlescent skin, despite having such strong features, he still carried ever so softly as if he couldn’t help but tiptoe his way through life. It was truly something Astarion had admired, especially since he had learned more about him- the last time the bathed together, it was so bold yet delicate, as if afraid to catch any attention.
Astarion had missed what the other had said as their eyes met, the darkness of Lynn’s black eyes swallowed Astarion in one gulp, as if they had mesmerized him.
There was again a lack of words that made every breath oddly loud as the two stared at each other, cheeks flushing thanks to the closeness.
“Astarion..” Lynn pronounced his name imperceptibly as he felt the familiar pull in his chest.
He wanted to lean in, to catch his lips with his, even though he knew his feelings were not reciprocated, and yet he could barely have enough no matter if it was real or just a lie.
Astarion’s fingers were itching to reach forward, fighting against the common sense as he sat up, the water dripping down his body as he stood in front of the changeling, his face at the same level with Lynn’s for the first time, as the other followed his movements to never miss his eyes.
It was quick, unexpected, real. And they both knew it.
Astarion’s hands reached forward, cupping his cheeks- no gripping at his face as he leaned forward in one swift movement and smashed his lips against Lynn’s, colliding against his muscular chest.
Lynn’s hands naturally reached for Astarion’s hips, firmly holding on to his frail frame as he welcomed his lips softly, with a gasp that Astarion swore snatched something from deep within him.
Lynn gently guided Astarion in his lap, his body slowly easing down as he trusted Lynn to hold him to his chest as their lips danced desperately together with gasps and sighs.
There was something about that kiss, that convinced Astarion he was never going to share this with the universe, he was never going to share Lynn, he was never going to share kisses with anyone else but Lynn yet he couldn’t name it yet.
