kim sunoo always thought you had been pretty.

with your pretty eyes, and pretty smile, and your pretty laugh; you had always been pretty to him. it isn’t until the beginning of summer break that other people also start to notice how pretty you are. and sunoo doesn’t understand why he’s so worried about it.

the two of you are at the local corner shop together, deciding what snacks to purchase for your routinely movie night. sunoo came up with the idea that every night during summer break, you guys would watch a movie a rate it on letterboxd, and tonight’s movie is high school musical 2.

���get this one to,” you say, handing sunoo mango candies.

“are we getting too much?” his voice threatens to spill with laughter as he watches you attempt to keep the snacks from falling out of your arms.

“shut up,” you grin widely and grab another candy bag.

finally deciding on what to get, you and sunoo gather all your chosen goodies and head for the front counter. placing all the snacks in a mountain of a pile, the boy standing behind the counter scrunches his nose at you while he scans the items, observing your face.

“do i know you from somewhere?” he asks suddenly.

your brows raise as you point to yourself. “me?”

“yeah, have i seen you before?” he bags the last of your snacks before looking at you again, sparing not a single glance at sunoo who seems to be unimpressed at the boy’s words.

“riki.. i have been coming here for the past two years— we also having english literature together?” you watch as the tall boy’s lips form into an “o” and he rubs his nape sheepishly.

“sorry, i guess you just look different.” he hands you the bag, his hands lingering on your skin a bit longer than it should’ve. “uh your total’s $12.55.”

sunoo quickly whips out his card, while you punch him slightly in the shoulder muttering something along the lines of, “you should’ve let me pay.” instead of responding, he just shrugs, smiling wide at you.

just as the two of you are about to leave, riki calls out your name. your head snaps up and he says, “my friend’s having a party tonight. you should come, hang out with me or something.” he smiles and you can’t help but feel flattered.

“here’s the address if you do decide to come, and you can even bring your friend.” riki hands you a piece of paper, and in messy handwriting is the address and his phone number.

“cool.. thanks, i’ll think about it.” you smile back at him, your cheeks burning at the invitation.

you find sunoo waiting outside the shop for you, his frame leaning against the shop window as he rummages through the bag, looking for a specific candy.

“what was that about?” he says, ripping open the bag and handing you a couple pieces. he does his best to keep his voice at bay, trying not to get worked up at the thought of riki sweeping you off your feet.

you pop the pieces into your mouth, immediately tasting the sour powder on your tongue which eventually melts into sweetness after a couple seconds. “he invited me to a party.” you say, grinning and showing sunoo the piece of paper.

“oh wow, his phone number too.” he says sarcastically, rolling his eyes. sunoo walks a bit faster than you, forcing you to catch up. almost immediately, you notice the change in his demeanor; the droop in his shoulders and the crease in his brows told you he was upset about something.

“hey— what’s up with the attitude? our first party invite and you’re acting like someone ran over your foot.” you say, a bit harsher than you intended.

a sigh escapes his lips, and he turns his attention to the candies in his hands to avoid full eye contact with you. “sorry, it’s just that—“ he pauses for a moment, “how is nishimura riki just suddenly into you? like he didn’t even recognize you without your glasses!”

you frown, “a lot of people look different without their glasses.”

sunoo sighs again, “i’m just saying that him suddenly just recognizing that you’re really pretty is super lame. especially when you’ve always been.”

you halt your steps. “what did you just say?”

sunoo also seems to realize the words that he’s said and the tips of his ears go pink. “that he’s super lame?”

“no, that other part.” you grin and move his shoulder so that he’ll finally face you. the two of you are inches apart, and he can smell your very familiar perfume. “you think i’m pretty?”

“that’s not what this is about.” theres a pink tint across his cheeks and he does his best not to look at your lips.

“you’re not denying it.” you smile even wider, analyzing him for a couple seconds to look for any signs joking. there isn’t. just pure adoration.

“whatever, i’m going home.” he turns from you and speeds up his pace towards his house as you follow closely behind him.

“yeah let’s go home and talk about how you think i’m so pretty.”

“you are insufferable.”

JAKE PUSHES HIS GLASSES UP AGAIN, fingers brushing against the bridge of his nose as he glances down at the textbook between you. he’s been explaining the same physics problem for the past five minutes, voice animated, hands gesturing in excitement as he scribbles equations onto the paper.

you, however, haven’t been paying attention.

not even a little bit.

"—so when you account for external forces, the net force is—"

you stare at him, chin propped up on your palm, watching the way he bites his lip in concentration. the way his eyes light up when he gets lost in thought. the way he occasionally pushes his glasses up when they slip down his nose.

he's so into it, so completely in love with explaining physics to you, and god, it’s cute.

"are you even listening?" he suddenly asks, turning to you with a frown.

"mhm," you hum, offering him an easy smile.

he squints. “then what’s the formula for force?”

“...love?”

jake sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. “this is why you’re failing physics.”

“this is why you’re my tutor,” you shoot back, straightening up. “but you know, i was just thinking. what if we make this more fun?”

jake raises a brow. "like what?"

you grin, shifting closer to him. "one correct answer, one kiss."

he freezes.

his ears immediately turn red, his fingers tightening around his pen as he stares at you like you’ve just suggested something illegal.

"what."

"one correct answer, one kiss," you repeat, nudging his knee with yours. "i think it'll help me focus."

he blinks at you, "that… theoretically wouldn’t work."

"oh?" you tilt your head. "why not?"

"well," he starts, pushing his glasses up again—stalling. "if we consider the concept of positive reinforcement, then yes, a reward system could enhance learning, but in this case, the variable is flawed because—"

you stare.

"—the stimulus, being, um, a kiss, is too subjective to quantify in terms of effective learning patterns, and if the goal is information retention, then—"

"jake."

"—introducing an external factor like physical affection could actually act as a distraction rather than a reinforcement, so theoretically—"

you kiss him.

his glasses bump against your cheek, and he makes a small, surprised noise in the back of his throat, instantly going still.

when you pull away, he’s frozen in place, eyes wide, lips parted.

"see?" you murmur, smiling. "works just fine."

jake blinks once. then twice. his fingers twitch where they rest on the textbook, and his lips part slightly, like he's about to say something, but nothing comes out.

you bite back a laugh. "you okay there, einstein?"

he swallows, clearing his throat. "yeah.. i think,"

you grin. "so. next question?"

his ears are still red as he glances at the book, voice slightly hoarse when he says, "what’s the acceleration due to gravity on earth?"

you shrug. "no clue."

jake exhales sharply, tilting his head back like he’s trying to gather what’s left of his dignity. “i can’t believe this,” he mutters.

you grin. “come on, next question.”

it's been an entire month since you've gotten a full night's rest. granted, you should be used to it—college has definitely ruined your sleep schedule for the next four years—but you'd gotten at least three hours of sleep.

thanks to nishimura riki, your friendly neighborhood spider-man (more commonly known as your boyfriend), those three hours have been reduced to maybe one. since you've found out about his identity, you've spent most nights worrying about his wellbeing, other nights were spent patching him up and tending to his wounds.

tonight is one of those nights.

one of the nights where you rub ointment against his bruised and cut skin, a look of disapproval on your face. he's tried talking to you, but you didn't answer, not wanting to snap at him for being so.. impulsive.

when you're done, you sigh, closing up the first aid kit you'd bought after the second time he came through your window. he stares at you, his eyes apologetic and a small frown on his lips.

he had changed once you let him in, throwing off his mask, and changing into one of the pair of sweats he'd left here. he foregone a shirt—wanting you to see the bruise that'd no doubt be forming on his back after being slammed against a wall.

you nearly strangled him when he told you that.

you understand that this is his unofficial job, something that he enjoys, but it doesn't mean you have to like it. especially when he's not being as careful as you would like him to be.

"alright, fine." he starts, leaning back on your bed, "i'll stop going after the small guys."

"i'm not worried about the 'small guys', ki."

"car jackers can be dangerous. so can—" you interrupt, hitting him with a pillow. he rolls away and lets out a surprised yelp. from the edge of the bed, "you shouldn't hit your injured boyfriend."

"my boyfriend wouldn't be injured if he stopped being stupid."

"i'm a superhero; we're all stupid."

you glare at him and he relents, holding his hands up in surrender. "okay, i'll be more mindful of how hard i'm being hit from now on. good?"

"not good," you crawl over to him, laying next to his body, "but fine. just stop coming over when you look like you're about to pass out. go to an actual hospital."

he rolls over again, this time so that he's hovering above you. suddenly, it feels like you're the one with the concussion—no matter how long you're with him, you don't think you'll ever get used to the close proximity riki seems to crave—and you look away.

you can see him smile out of your peripheral, biting his lip to keep from laughing. "hey, look at me."

you debate not listening to him, but you know he won't speak again until you do, so you (hesitantly) look at him.

riki's smile brightens and he places a kiss on your nose, then on your cheek, forehead, and finally your lips. the kiss lasts for a fleeting moment, but it melts you all the same.

"i wanna be with you, though." he kisses you again, "want your face to be the last thing i see before i faint from exhaustion."

you can't help the giggles that escape, turning your head away from him and covering his mouth with your hand. "stop—don't say that."

"it's true." he pulls your hand from his mouth, but not before kissing it. "plus, i can't go to a hospital, dork."

"okay, okay, whatever. new rule: be better than the other superheros. be smart."

"that gave me chills. you should be a motivational speaker."

you shove him off of you, telling him yo be serious as you do so, and your boyfriend lets out a dramatic scream of so-called pain. when he's done with his mini-monologue about how mean of a girlfriend you are, he caresses your cheek.

"i'll be smarter, though, make you worry you less. promise."

Inspired by pooks @luvyeni … this was so easy for me to write for some reason. 1.1k words, FLUFF, pet names and a couple smooches, fem!reader, mentions of an older sister in won’s part

He might be more excited about it than you were

Actually crazy because the other girls were shoving each other and jumping and it just happened to fall into your hands 😇

You look at the bundle of flowers in shock while all the guys at your table start nudging and elbowing your boyfriend

“You know what that means~”

When you come back over to the table you still look vaguely surprised, but you just set the bouquet down and go to take your seat like nothing happened

Meanwhile hee has spent the last five minutes planning your wedding

He pulls you into his lap before you can even sit in your own seat and whispers in your ear

“So we’re getting married huh?”

Now you’re both blushing messes 🤭

Jay

Bro has been ready to marry you since about the day you met

He’s the one that tells you to go with the other girls when they announce the bouquet toss in the first place

So when you actually catch it he just lights up

The proudest, most lovesick smile on his face

While the other girls fawn over you he turns to the guys at his table

“Guess who’s getting married!!”

The boys jump up and down with him and shout

“Do you even have a ring?”

They all shush sunghoon bc that doesn’t even matter 🙄

You’re flushed when you make your way back to him, fresh off of being mercilessly teased by your own friends

“So what size ring do you wear?”

“WHAT?”

He hypes you up before the toss, rubbing your shoulders like you’re a boxer about to go in the ring and not a bridesmaid trying to catch a bouquet

“Go get them baby!” He yells as you walk over, placing a light tap on your bottom while you roll your eyes and try to pretend you don’t know him

But he really really wants you to catch the flowers, so who are you to disappoint your man 🤨

Some girl almost knocks you down, but you catch those flowers !!

You can’t even bask in your success because Jake is running to the dance floor to pick you up and spin you around 🥹

“The wedding gods have spoken! You have to marry me!!”

You’re laughing like a maniac because he’s still spinning you and he’s so happy

Like they called all the girls up to the floor for the toss and he was so confused when you winked at him before running up 😭

He asks Jake what you’re even doing before being told that whoever catches the bouquet is the person to get married next

His eyes get so wide as he watches the giant group of girls wrestle for the bundle of flowers

“They take this seriously huh?”

The boys let out actual cackles when the crowd disperses and you’re standing there with the flowers in your hand 😇

“Wait so that means-?”

He gets nothing but nudges and teases in response

“Hoon I caught it!!” You yell excitedly when you rejoin him at the table

His ears are pink, but he sends you the prettiest smile

He slides one of his rings off and slips it gently onto your hand

“Good job baby.”

Sunoo

“You have to catch that bouquet!!” He tells you excitedly. “It’s fate ok! Catch it!!”

You laugh as you join the other bridesmaids on the dance floor where the bride is

It’s silly, you know you’re gonna marry him anyway, but if he tells you to catch the bouquet then you’re gonna catch that bouquet 🙂‍↕️

Sorry to the girl you accidentally elbowed… this ain’t about her

The first thing you do when you catch it is turn to look at your boyfriend

While normally the guys look slightly embarrassed or shy, your boyfriend is jumping up and down and cheering

“That’s my girl!! Look she caught the bouquet!! We’re gonna get married!!”

You laugh at his reaction and run over to join him

“We’re gonna get married!” You join in with him

He takes the bouquet from you and kisses your lips

“Dang right we are.”

Jungwon

“You’re gonna go?” He asks when you stand up to participate in the bouquet toss

His ears are already red, and you let out a soft laugh

“Won there’s like fifty girls, I’m not gonna catch it. It’s just tradition!”

It’s your sisters wedding and she’d actually murder you if you didn’t participate, which Jungwon realizes is a valid point

“Ok, well have fun! Don’t get knocked out!”

You roll your eyes and stand on the outside of the crowd, not that interested in catching it

You swear your sister does it on purpose because explain how the bouquet is flying straight at you, completely away from every other girl on the dance floor 🤨

You barely have time to grasp it before she’s running over to you

“Oh it’s fate!! You’re next little sis!!”

You hug her with the flowers and turn to find your boyfriend, expecting him to be hiding his face or not paying attention

Instead he’s got the biggest smile on his face, deep dimples poking into his red cheeks while the other guys wolf whistle

He walks up to you and gives you a kiss

“I guess we can’t argue with fate.”

Riki

He’s laughing at you

“I hope that mean bridesmaid trips you when you try to catch it.”

“Shut up!” You smack his arm before walking away, sticking your tongue out when the mean bridesmaid he mentioned walks straight past you and to the front of the group

You didn’t care that much about catching the bouquet, you just wanted to annoy your boyfriend 😁

So when it actually lands right in your hands (knocked off its original course by the mean bridesmaid who hit it so hard it almost hit you in the face) you are SHOCKED

People immediately start cheering, and you don’t even have to look to know it’s coming from the table your boyfriend is still standing at

When you finally spare a glance to him, he’s gone entirely red and is being jostled by the rest of the guys at your table

You set the bouquet down nonchalantly on your table, pressing a kiss to his cheek before whispering “I wear a size 6 ring baby.” And then running to the bathroom to touch up your makeup

He will never recover (and is secretly making a Pinterest board of every size 6 ring he finds)
